WHEN GOING OVER BUMPS VEHICLE WILL MAKE AUDIBLE CLUNKS, WHEN CHANGING DIRECTION OF STEERING WILL MAKE AUDIBLE NOISES AND HAVE ADDITIONAL DEGREES OF PLAY

I JUST DROPPED IT OFF AT POHANKA HYUNDAI (1770 RITCHIE STATION CT, CAPITOL HEIGHTS, MD; (301) 423-1100) DEALERSHIP REGARDING ISSUES I SUSPECT TO BE RELATED TO THE RECALL ON THE ENGINE. ABOUT THREE AND HALF WEEKS AGO, I STARTED EXPERIENCING THE FOLLOWING SIGNS UPON START-UP IN THE MORNING AND DRIVING THROUGHOUT THE DAY. A LOUD KNOCKING SOUND AND VIBRATION FROM THE ENGINE FOR 3-4 SECONDS WHEN I START THE CAR IN THE MORNING. HEAVY SMOKING(MORE THAN THE USUAL MORNING SMOKE ON COLD DAYS) SOMETIMES UP TO FIVE OR MORE MINUTES. ACCELERATION AND RPMTHAT DON'T PASS 2000 ISSUES WHEN DRIVING AT 60 MPH. RANDOM AND INTERMITTENT STALLING WHEN DRIVING, SOMETIMES ALMOST COMPLETELY STOPPING OR REFUSING TO MOVE AFTER A MOMENTARY STOP. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 169,925.
SEATBELT FAILED TOO RETRACT CORRECTLY ALLOWING DOOR TO BE SHUT ON IT LEADING TOO DOOR AJAR SENSOR DAMAGE OR FAILURE LEAVING RED LIGHT AT BOTTOM OF DRIVER DOOR ALWAYS TURNED ON DRAINING BATTERY EVERY TIME OVERNIGHT. ONLY FIX FOR THIS WAS TOO REMOVE SENSOR TO PREVENT BATTERY DRAIN BUT NOW MY CAR LOCKS DOOR EVEN WITH ENGINE TURNED ON. SAFTEY ISSUE. COST OF FUEL ROADSIDE UNLOCK ASSISTANCE AND BATTERY CHECK OR REPLACEMENT COST.
THE FRONT DASHBOARD HAS MULTIPLE LINES OF CRACKS NEAR THE DASHBOARD. AFTER RESEARCHING ONLINE IT LOOKS LIKE A COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL. THE DASH BEING CRACKER ON THE PASSENGER SIDE ON TOP OF THE AIRBAG MAKES ME REALLY WORRIED ABOUT THE AIRBAG BLOWING OFF. ALSO THE CAR LOOKS SO BAD WITH ALL THE CRACKS THAT I HAVE PUR A COVER ON TOP OF THE DASH WHICH COULD RESULT IN THE AIRBAG NOT OPENING UPON COLLISON.
RECALL ON ENGINE HYUNDAI SAID THEY REPLACE IT THE CAR CONTINUES TO LOSE POWER. I WAS ON THE INTERSTATE WITH MY KIDS DRIVING WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT LOSES POWER AND I'M ALMOST HIT. HYUNDAI IS PUTTING ME AND MY CHILDREN IN DANGER AND ABSOLUTELY REFUSE TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I HAVE SEVERAL CASE NUMBERS WHERE I HAVE TAKEN IT TO HYUNDAI THEY REFUSED TO FIX IT AND THEY TRY TO SELL ME A NEW CAR. HOLIDAYS HAD MY CAR FOR FOUR WEEKS NOW I HAD A FRIEND TAKE ME UP TO THE HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP TO CHECK ON IT AND THEY TOLD ME BEFORE THEY COULD CHECK THE ENGINE NOW I HAD TO REPLACE COIL PACK #3 BECAUSE IT HAS A MESS. I'M COMPLETELY FED UP.
MY CAR IS MAKING CLUNKING SOUND AND SHAKING IT IS BAD WHEN I PUT ON BRAKES SHAKES AND NOISE SOUND IS LOUD.
I WAS DRIVING MY CAR, ALL MY LIGHTS POPPED UP ON MY DASH BOARD THIS NEVER HAPPENS, ONCE IT HAPPENED I PULLED OVER TURNED IT OFF, TRIED TO TURN IT BACK ON IT WOULDN'T START, CHECKED THE OIL EVERYTHING WAS FINE TRIED TO GIVE IT A JUMP IT STILL WOULDN'T START. SO I HAD TO TOW TO A LOCAL MECHANIC AND HE LOOKED AT IT THE NEXT DAY HE TOLD ME HE THINK MY ENGINE WENT, WHEN I BOUGHT THIS CAR IT HAD NO LIGHTS ON THE DASH BOARD AND IT DROVE PERFECT I'M SO CONFUSED AND SUPER MAD RIGHT NOW. THEN I GOT IT TOWED TO CONECELLI HYUNDAI FOR FURTHER INFORMATION.
DRIVER SIDE BREAK LIGHT BULB NO LONGER WORK PROPERLY. EVEN THOUGH ITS BEEN CHANGED IT WORKS SPORADICALLY BECAUSE THE BULB IS LOOSE IN THE SOCKET OF THE WIRE HARNESS OR THE SOCKET WILL MELT. THIS CAUSES MORE THAN ONE SAFETY ISSUE. CAR HAS NO BRAKE LIGHT ON ONE SIDE AND COULD AT ANYTIME CATCH ON FIRE. DEALERSHIP HAS SAID THIS IS A PROBLEM AMONG THESE VEHICLES BUT HYUNDAI HASN'T ADDRESSED THIS ISSUE. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED VERY SOON. TRIED OF REPLACE HARNESSES AND BULBS.
CAR STALLED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH IN CITY. ALL DASHLIGHTS ILLUMINATED. ONCE PULLED OVER, I ATTEMPTED TO START THE ENGINE WHICH CAUSED LARGE AMOUNTS OF BLACK SMOKE TO COME OUT FROM UNDER THE HOOD. SMOKE SMELLED LIKE AN ELECRICAL FIRE. THIS ISSUE OCCURED 2 HOURS AGO.

The dealer was made aware of the issue. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
I AM CONSTANTLY CHANGING OUT MY BRAKE LIGHTS/ TAIL LIGHTS. AS SOON AS I REPLACE THEM., THEY GO OUT. MY BRAKE LIGHTS MAY WORK BUT MY TAIL LIGHTS WILL NOT. I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE AT NIGHT FOR FEAR OF NOT KNOWING IF I HAVE BRAKE LIGHTS OR NOT.
THE BREAK LIGHTS KEEP BURNING OUT. THEY HAVE MELTED THE PLASTIC THAT HOLDS THE LIGHT BULB. I REPLACE THE LIGHT BULBS ONCE A MONTH. IT SEEMS LIKE IT HAS A BAD POWER SURGE OR FAULTY WIRES. I HAVE SWITCHED TO LED LIGHT BULBS AND THEY STILL DON'T WORK. I HAVE SEEN THOUSANDS OF OTHER HYUNDAI SONATA DRIVERS SAY THE SAME EXACT COMPLAINT. I AM HIGHLY SURPRISED THAT THIS HAS NOT ALREADY BEEN A RECALL DUE TO AN EXTREME SAFETY ISSUE OF THE ELECTRICAL AND WIRING SYSTEM. HYUNDAI SONATA DRIVERS ARE GETTING PULLED OVER A LOT DUE TO THIS DEFECT AND ARE REPLACING BULBS AT AN EXTREMELY HIGH RATE THAN THEY SHOULD BE. THIS NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED AND RECALLED FOR CUSTOMERS SAFETY. THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE.
I'M GETTING A CODE P1326 AND THE VEHICLE IS NOT TAKING THE GAS AND CAN'T DRIVE IT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE FUEL SYSTEM GASOLINE; DELIVERY HOSE LINES/ PIPING AND FITTING.
I purchased (4 tires) 205/65R16 Sumitomo HTR A/S P02 for my vehicle in January 2019. In the past few months I’ve noticed a constant rumbling noise from the rear while driving. I have had my vehicle serviced for an inspection and oil change. Each time I received no recommendations during the multipoint inspections related to my tires. The last time I took it in I mentioned that I planned to purchase new tires and the mechanic looked at me strangely. He measured that my tire thread were at a 6 and he could not see any visible defects. Once the tires were rotated the noise moved from the back to the front. There is clearly a defect with the tire and it is out of warranty to be replaced.

The contact's father inspected the taillights, removed the taillight housings, and noticed that the taillight housings were melted. The contact stated that she had replaced the bulbs on several occasions. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unavailable.
DRIVING DOWN THE EXPRESSWAY THE POWER TO THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN AND THE CAR LOST POWER. THE ENGINE WON'T TURN. I THINK IT MAY BE SEIZED UP. HAD THE CAR TOWED.
5 HOURS INTO A 6 HOURS HIGHWAY DRIVE, NO ISSUES HAVE OCCURRED, APPROACHING A FLYOVER AT I-10E AND THE BELTWAY EAST I WAS DOING 70MPH, ABOUT HALFWAY UP NORTHBOUND APPROACH I LOST ACCELERATION, ALL WARNING LIGHTS ON DASH APPEARED TO ILLUMINATE, THE RADIO CONTINUED TO PLAY, APPEARS THAT POWER STEERING CONTINUED TO WORK. AFTER COASTING DOWN FLYOVER I PULLED TO THE RIGHT, PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND IT STARTED UP FINE, I DROVE OFF THE BELTWAY TO THE FEEDER/SERVICE ROAD AND THIS HAPPENED ONCE MORE. I PULLED INTO PARKING LOT AND WAS ABLE TO PUT IN PARK AND START WITH NO ISSUE. NEITHER TIME DID I EVER SEE A CONSTANT WARNING LIGHT OF ANY KIND ON MY DASH. THE CAR HAS 99K MILES AND I AM THE ONLY OWNER, TAKEN TO DEALER 95 PERCENT OF TIME FOR MAINTENANCE.
Trunk latch mechanism is not responding to either manual or sensor key
WHILE DRIVING DOWN A RESIDENTIAL STREET, I RECEIVED A NOTIFICATION THAT MY CAR ESSENTIALLY WAS NO LONGER CHARGER AND WOULD CUT OFF. I WAS PROMPTED TO PULL OVER AND STOP THE CAR. I CUT THE CAR OFF. WHEN TRYING TO RESTART, IT WOULD NOT CUT BACK ON. AFTER ABOUT 20 MINUTES, IT DID RESTART BUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. I AHVE NOT DRIVEN IT SINCE. THERE IS AN OUTSTANDING RECALL ON THIS CAR THAT HAS YET TO BE REMEDIED AND THUS FAR HYUNDAI HAS NOT PROVIDED ANY SOLUTIONS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE INTERIOR LIGHTING WAS FLICKERING ON AND OFF. THE LIGHTS STOPPED FLICKERING WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED-OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN NOTIFIED THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 55,000.
SOMETIMES MY BRAKE LIGHTS ARE ON WHEN I AM NOT PRESSING ON THE BRAKES. WHY IS THIS HAPPENING. IT SEEMS THAT SOMETHING IS MALFUNCTIONING BECAUSE IT DOES NOT HAPPEN ALL THE TIME.
MY AIRBAG LIGHT CAME FOR NO REASON, THEY CHECKED THE ERROR CODES FOR AIRBAG THEY GOT CODES B1388 AND B1481 AIRBAG RESISTANCE TOO HIGH AND SEAT TRACK POSITION SENSOR WHICH THEY STATED IS AN ISSUE WITH THE CLOCKSPRING. WHEN I RESEARCH THIS ISSUE I FOUND THIS RECALL TSB ITS THE EXACT SAME ISSUE FOR 2011-2013 HYUNDAI SONATA BUT FOR SOME REASON MY CAR OR VIN NUMBER SAYS I AM NOT INCLUDED OR COVERED, I BELIEVE THIS SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER THIS AS THE DEALER AS THERE IS A UNLIMITED MILEAGE WARRANTY EXTENSION AND THE DEALER IS QUOTING ME $400+ TO REPLACE IT AND THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE, THE CAR ENGINE COMPLETELY STOPPED. I WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN STEERING AND BRAKES TO MAKE IT SAFELY TO THE SIDE OF THE INTERSTATE. NO WARNING LIGHTS WERE ACTIVE PRIOR TO THE ENGINE STOPPING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTO SHOP WHICH STATED THE ENGINE WAS SEIZED AND UNABLE TO MANUALLY TURN OVER. ATTACH IS THE REPORT FROM THE AUTO REPAIR SHOP. THE RECALL NUMBER IS 162 PER INTERNET SEARCH. I HAVE MAINTAINED SCHEDULED OIL CHANGES THROUGHOUT MY OWNERSHIP OF THIS VEHICLE
MY 2013 HYUNDAI SONATA ISSUES: 1. MY HORN & LEFT SIDE OF MY STEERING WHEEL BUTTONS DOESN'T WORK. I WAS TOLD IT COULD BE RELATED TO FUSES OR CLOCKSPRING REPLACEMENT. TRIP A/B AND OTHER BUTTONS DOESN'T WORK , I'VE BEEN DRIVING FOR OVER A YEAR WITHOUT A HORN BECAUSE THIS ISN'T A RECALL. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. 2. MY GEARS ARE START TO SLIP IN THE TRANSMISSION. I WAS TOLD IT COULD BE TWO THINGS IT'S EITHER THE TRANSMISSION OR SPEED QUALITY CENSOR. THESE CARS WERE MADE EITHER VERY FAST OR VERY POORLY OR BOTH AND THIS IS ANOTHER SAFETY ISSUE. 3. ELECTRICAL ISSUES. I HAVE TO MANUALLY ADJUST BY BACK LIGHT/BREAK LIGHTS DAILY BECAUSE THEY NEVER STAY IN PLACE. THE WHOLE WIRING FOR THIS VEHICLE IS HORRIBLE. SOMETIMES WHILE DRIVING THE CAR SUDDENLY STARTS TO SLOW DOWN. EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE MY RADIO IS ON BUT DOESN'T LIGHT UP. LIGHT BULBS ARE MELTING INTO LIGHT SOCKETS. ELECTRICAL ISSUES THAT ARE A SAFETY ISSUE FOR MANY WITH THESE MODEL CARS. EITHERWAY NONE OF THESE ISSUES WERE A PROBLEM UNTIL AFTER HYUNDAI PERFORMED ALL OF THE RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE. THEY CHARGE $200 FOR A DIAGNOSTIC THAT I'M NOT WILLING TO PAY , THESES ISSUES CAME FROM THE MAKERS OF THIS VEHICLE, THESE SHOULD ALSO BE ADDED TO THE RECALL LIST. I'M SURE IF YOU LOOK AROUND ONLINE THERE'S OTHERS WHO'S DEALING WITH THESE ISSUE FROM 2013 - 2021 TODAY. I DON'T THINK IT'S FAIR THAT I PURCHASED A VEHICLE AND HAVE TO COME OUT OF POCKET FOR ALL OF THESE REPAIRS THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPAIRED FROM THE BEGINNING. THESE ARE SAFETY ISSUES THAT SHOULD BE TAKEN MORE SERIOUS. I'VE ALMOST GOT INTO MULTIPLE ACCIDENTS BECAUSE MY HORN DOESN'T WORK. MY VEHICLE WORKED FINED BEFORE ALL OF THE PREVIOUS RECALL REPAIRS.MY TRANSMISSION SLIPPING LEFT ME IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE UNTIL MY CAR STARTED FUNCTIONING PROPERLY TO GET HOME.THE ELECTRICAL ON THIS CAR IS COSTING ME MONEY NON STOP. HYUNDAI NEEDS TO FIX THIS! 2.
SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT GOES ON AND OFF LOAD GROWLING NOISE FROM ENGINE
The contact owned a 2013 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH, the vehicle began to emit a white smoke from under the engine. As the contact pulled the vehicle to side of the road, he could hear an abnormal sizzling sound coming from the engine. The contact decided to leave the vehicle at the scene to allow the vehicle to cool down. The contact got into another vehicle and proceeded to his destination. A couple hours later, the contact returned to the scene and discovered that the vehicle was burned and damaged due to a fire. The contact called his insurance provider to report the failure. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The contact was uncertain if a fire report was filed. The contact then received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V121000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) which he linked to the failure. The contact had informed a dealer of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was destroyed. The failure mileage was approximately 92,000.
CAR WAS IN MOTION ON THE ROAD AND IT SHUT OFF. RESTARTED, DROVE A FEW FEET AND ALL LIGHTS ON DASHBOARD CAME ON, A GRINDING NOISE CAME FROM THE ENGINE AND IT SHUT OFF.HAD IT TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP WHERE ALL RECALLS HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN ADDRESSED. THE CAR HAS 110K MILES, THE DEALERSHIP SAID NONE OF THE CYLINDERS ARE FIRING AND HYUNDAI WON'T COVER THE COST TO REPAIR
Unable to unlock and open front and rear passenger doors.
BRAKE AND TAIL LIGHT CONTINUES TO BURN OUT. I HAVE REPLACED BULBS AND ENTIRE ASSEMBLY EVERY COUPLE WEEKS AND IT MELTS THE UNITS AS WELL AS MY ENGINE STALLS OUT AND WILL NOT ACCELERATE AND DOES THIS INTERMITTENTLY.
1) ENGINE SEIZED UP DURING OPERATION. HYUNDAI DECLINED TO REPAIR UNDER A PROGRAM PRIOR TO OFFICIAL RECALL WHICH THE VEHICLE NOW FALLS WITHIN. I PAID OUT OF POCKET TO HAVE THE ENGINE REPLACED. 9/2021 2) THE HV BATTERY FAILED WITHOUT ANY INDICATION, WARNING OR DIAGNOSTIC ALARM AND CAUGHT THE VEHICLE ON FIRE WHILE PARKED OVERNIGHT CAUSING A TOTAL LOSS. 1/2021 * (RECALL RELATED INCIDENT) TS
WHILE DRIVING HOME I HEARD A TICKING SOUND THAT HAD SOUNDED LIKE THE TICKING WHEN THE OIL GETS LOW, BUT I HAD GOT THE OIL CHANGE DONE ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO. THE NEXT MORNING I HAD A IMPORTANT APPT AND WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY THERE I HEARD THE CLICKING TURNED INTO A VERY HARD CLANKING SOUND WHILE I PULLED OFF THE FREEWAY CAUSE IT WAS A SCARY NOISE I WENT TO PULL OVER AND THE POWER SURGED LIKE IT WAS GOING TO SHUT OFF SO I IMMEDIATELY TURNED IT OFF. AFTER A FEW MINS I TRIED TO TURN IT ON AND IT WAS MAKING THE SOUND STILL WHEN I PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL IT ONLY WENT LOUDER, I THEN TURNED IT OFF AND HAD TO WALK TO THE CLOSEST STORE THAT SOLD OIL AND WALK ALL THE WAY BACK I RECENTLY HAD HEART SURGERY AND I HAD STROKE 3 WEEKS AGO I CAN NOT BE OVER EXHERDING MYSELF LIKE THIS WHEN ADDING THE OIL IT MADE NO DIFFERENCE THE CLANKING SOUND GOT WORSEN AND NOW I'M WITHOUT A CAR WHEN I HAVE IMPORTANT APPS TO GO TO ALONG WITH MY TERMINALLY ILL CHILD THERE IS MAJOR ISSUES THAT NEED REPAIRED IMMEDIATELY

On one occasion as the failure occurred, a second vehicle crashed into the rear bumper. No injuries were reported. No police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer who diagnosed that the engine has seized and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 42,897.
THE ENGINE KNOCKS LOUDLY WHEN UNDER A LOAD. THE PROBLEM CAUSES A LACK OF POWER AND THE CONSUMPTION OF OIL WHICH RISKS ENGINE FAILURE DURING CRITICAL DRIVING SITUATIONS.
CAR DOES NOT ACCELERATE AT RANDOM TIMES WHEN PRESSING GAS PEDAL. KNOWN ISSUES IN OTHER YEAR MODELS OF THE SAME VEHICLE AND OTHER VEHICLES FROM HYUNDAI WITH BRAKE PEDAL STOPPER. HAS BEEN DANGEROUS DRIVING AND LOSING ABILITY TO ACCELERATE IN MIDDLE OF INTERSECTIONS.

The contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that it was discovered that the engine was quickly losing oil even though there were no leaks found. The contact stated that there was an abnormal knocking sound coming from the engine. The vehicle was towed to the dealer who diagnosed that the engine rod bearing had failed, causing damage to the engine. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact indicated that the vehicle was included in the NHTSA campaign number: 17V226000 (Engine) and that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 130,000.
Very concerned about extensive "cracking" on dashboard on and around passenger side airbag designation. Could this affect deployment of the airbag?
The dashboard is showing major cracking and I am concerned that the air bags may self deploy. I have seen other drivers online with the same issue.
THE ENGINE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. BROKE DOWN WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET. THE CAR HAS LESS THAN 80000 MILES. I GAVE THIS CAR TO MY SON SO EVIDENTLY THE POWER TRAIN WARRANTY IS GONE. MY COMPLAINT IS THAT THIS ENGINE SHOULD HAVE LASTED LONGER. THAT IS WHAT HYUNDAI CLAIMS.
IT STARTED WITH RANDOM ELECTRICAL/WIRING PROBLEMS. RADIO VOLUME, AC SUDDENLY STOPS WORKING, THEN STARTS AGAIN, ETC... NOW IT STARTS OR DOESN'T START AT RANDOM. WHEN IT DOESN'T START, I WAIT A FEW MINUTES TO AN HOUR, THEN IT RANDOMLY STARTS WITHOUT ANY BATTERY JUMP OR OTHER ASSISTANCE. LOCAL MECHANICS ARE NOT ABLE TO DIAGNOSE THIS ISSUE BUT TELL ME IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE CARS
ENGINE STARTED KNOCKING AND MAKING NOISE. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AFTERWARDS AND GOVERNED THE CAR SPEED. NO INDICATIONS OF WARNINGS BEFORE OR ANYTHING. SHOP NOW SAYS THE ENGINE IS SHOT. LOS ANGELES CALIFORNIA

THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION THROUGH EMISSIONS OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V746000 (ENGINE) HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE RECALL REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. HORNE HYUNDAI (1360 E. AUTO CENTER DR, APACHE JUNCTION, AZ 85119, (480) 771-8213) WAS CONTACTED AND IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT PARTS WERE NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE WHEN THE CAR LOST POWER AND SMOKE STARTED COMING OUT FROM UNDER THE HOOD AT THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. AFTER OPENING THE HOOD SMOKE WAS COMING FROM AROUND THE FUSEBOX/ BATTERY AREA. AFTER TURNING THE CAR OFF THE SMOKE STOPPED. IT IS AT MACK GRUBBS HYUNDAI IN HATTIESBURG, MISSISSIPPI WAITING ON INSURANCE AND SERVICE TO ASSESS THE DAMAGE.
WHEN I'M DRIVING IT LOSES POWER. I HAVE TO LET UP OFF THE GAS PEDAL, AND THEN PUSH IT AGAIN SO IT WILL KEEP GOING.
IT HAS BEEN OVER THREE MONTHS SINCE THE MANUFACTURER ANNOUNCED THE RECALL, BUT THERE STILL IS NO REMEDY. I AM AFRAID OF DRIVING THIS VEHICLE IN CASE THE ENGINE CATCHES FIRE. WHAT IS TAKING SO LONG FOR THE MANUFACTURER TO COME UP WITH THE REMEDY? IT IS PUTTING MANY DRIVERS IN DANGER.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, I'VE HAD SEVERAL INSTANCES WHERE I PUSH THE GAS PEDAL DOWN AND THE CAR DOES NOT ACCELERATE. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE IN OTHER HYUNDAI VEHICLES WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL STOPPER AND I'M WONDERING IF MY 2013 HYUNDAI SONATA IS HAVING THIS SAME PROBLEM THAT WAS RECALLED ON MANY OTHER VEHICLES.
BACK IN MAY OF 2020 MY CAR OUT OF THE BLEW LOST POWER AND MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTED FLASHING. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER, I GOT MY CAR TOWED TO MY CLOSET DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATED IT WAS THE COMPUTER SYSTEM. 4 MONTHS LATER, THREE DAYS AFTER MY OIL CHANGE MY CAR COMPLETELY SHUTS OFF AND MY ENGINE STARTED MAKING THIS CRAZY NOISE. DEALERSHIPS SAYS MY ENIGNE IS BLOWN, I REALLY DONT UNDERSTAND HOW THAT HAPPENED. THEY WANT 6,000 TO FIX MY ENGINE AND I CANNOT AFFORD THAT ESPECIALLY NOW. THERES SOMETHING REALLY WRONG WITH THESE ENGINES AND ITS NOT SAFE NOR FAIR TO WHAT YALL ARE DOING TO PEOPLE. I WAS EVEN TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THE SONATAS HAVE REALLY BAD ENGINES.
WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL I HEAR A CLICKING /CLUNCKING NOISE LIKE SOMETHING IS LOOSE OR BROKEN. WHEN I AM DRIVING AND GO TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL OR HIT EVEN A SMALL BUMP I HEAR A RATTELING / CLICKING SOUND COMING FROM SOMEWHERE IN THE STEERING COLUM.
MY ENGINE WAS RECENTLY REPLACED DUE TO A SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT DUE TO FAULTY ENGINE WHICH DIED, THIS OCCURRED IN OCTOBER 2020 AND I RECEIVED MY VEHICLE BACK TWO WEEKS AGO WITH A NEW ENGINE. LAST NIGHT ON 11/19/2020 THE ENGINE IN MY VEHICLE BURST INTO FLAMES WHILE I WAS PARKED IN A RESTAURANT PARKING LOT. THE ENGINE CAUGHT FIRE WITH NO NOTICE AND I HAD TO CONTACT THE FIRE DEPARTMENT TO PUT THE FIRE OUT.
