WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AT 70 MPH IN THE FAST LANE I RECEIVED LOUD ALARM "HYBRID SYSTEM WARNING! SAFELY STOP AND DO NOT DRIVE. ALSO ON THE DASH BOARD WAS A YELLOW TRIANGLE WITH AN ASTERISK. IN ADDITION THE RED BRAKE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CAR ACCELERATOR NO LONGER RESPONDED BUT LUCKY I WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. IF TRAFFIC WERE HEAVIER (WHICH IT NORMALLY IS IN MY AREA) I COULD HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN A HIGH-SPEED COLLISION. ONCE I GOT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND PRESSED THE BRAKES, THERE WAS A VERY LOUD NOISE AND VIBRATION FELT IN THE SEATS AND BRAKE PEDAL. THE VEHICLE FINALLY STOPPED, I TURNED IT OFF, CHECKED THE BRAKES FOR LEAKS. I ALSO CHECKED THE BRAKE FLUID LEVEL. EVERYTHING LOOKED NORMAL WHEN I RESTARTED THE CAR, NOT ALARM. EVERYTHING CLEARED UP. THIS IS DANGEROUS. I HAVE SEARCHED THE WEB AND FOUND THAT MANY OTHERS ARE HAVING THIS SAME PROBLEM. FOR NOW THE CAR IS SITTING IN MY DRIVE-WAY. WE DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT AND FROM WHAT I READ THE FIX IS EXPENSIVE. I HAVE A VIDEO OF THE DASHBOARD DURING THE MALFUNCTION IF NEEDED. THANK YOU.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V934000 (ENGINE, FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO SPORT DURST HYUNDAI (4507 DURHAM-CHAPEL HILL BLVD, DURHAM, NC 27707) WHERE HE HAD THE ENGINE REPLACED UNDER THE RECALL. UPON RETURN OF THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE COULD HEAR AN ABNORMAL KNOCKING SOUND FROM ENGINE WITH THE LOW COOLANT WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHITE SMOKE WOULD ALSO EMIT FROM THE ENGINE. THE CONTACT THEN TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE SAME DEALER WHERE HE WAS INFORMED THAT THE KNOCKING WAS DUE TO THE WRONG TYPE OF FUEL IN THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED TO USE 89 OCTANE FUEL IN THE VEHICLE INSTEAD OF 87 OCTANE FUEL. THE CONTACT SWITCHED TO 89 OCTANE FUEL HOWEVER, THE KNOCKING WITH THE WHITE SMOKE BECAME MORE PRONOUNCED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS THE VEHICLE SHUTOFF IMMEDIATELY AFTER START-UP. THE CONTACT CALLED THE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED TO BRING THE VEHCILE IN TO BE INSPECTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 196,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO HER RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT STATED AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC CAME TO THE RESIDENCE AND SHE WAS INFORMED THE ENGINE NEEDED TO REPLACED. THE VIN WAS ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V121000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) AND NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V226000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 168,092.
CAR CUT OFF AND ENGINE SEIZED
I WAS DRIVING VEHICLE AT ABOUT 30 MPH ON MAIN ROAD AND VEHICLE SHUTS OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I ATTEMPTED TO GET A JUMP ENGINE DOES NOT START. WEIRD SMELL COMING FROM ENGINE.
YESTERDAY I WAS DRIVING AND OUT OF NOWHERE MY CAR SHUT OFF AND ALL THE LIGHTS CAME ON BUT THE CRAZY PART IS. THE CAR STILL WAS MOVING AND DIDN'T STOP UNTIL I STOPPED AND PULLED OVER.(SO WEIRD) I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND STARTED IT BACK UP. IT CAME ON WITH NO PROBLEMS BUT NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AND IT'S FLASHING. I NEVER SEE A FLASHING CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. BACK TO THE STORY I'M DRIVING BUT I CAN ONLY GO A CERTAIN SPEED OR THE CAR WOULD STALL AND JERK LIKE IT'S ABOUT TO CUT OFF. I DID NOT REPEAT DID NOT STOP UNTIL I MADE IT HOME LOL. THE WHOLE TIME DRIVING IT KEPT STALLING. IN ORDER FOR ME TO GET HOME I HAD TO JUMP ON THE HIGHWAY BUT I TOOK BACK ROADS JUST BECAUSE I WAS SCARED THE CAR WOULD STOP ON THE HIGHWAY.O AND DON'T LET ME STOP AT A RED LIGHT HUNNI, IT'S TAKING ITS TIME TO GET UP SOME SPEED. THIS THE SECOND OR THIRD TIME IT DID THAT BUT THIS TIME THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. IS THIS UNDER A RECALL? IF NOT IT DEFINITELY SHOULD BE BECAUSE THAT WAS SO [XXX] SCARY DRIVING. VEHICLE ENGINE STALLED AT STOPLIGHT. HAD TOWED TO LOCAL MECHANICS SHOP FOR EVALUATION. AFTER SITTING OVERNIGHT THE CAR WAS DRIVEN APPROX 10-15 MILES AND IT RAN OK. SEVERAL WEEKS LATER, ON ABOUT JULY 22, 2020 THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN AT A STOP LIGHT, 6 LANE ROAD. CAR PUSHED TO SIDE OF ROAD AND TOWED TO MECHANICS SHOP. FOLLOWING MORNING WHEN MECHANIC CRANKED THE CAR THE ENGINE KNOCKED! THE MECHANIC, WHO IS A CERTIFIED 'MASTER MECHANIC' SAID IT WAS A ROD KNOCK. COULD ONLY BE REPAIRED WITH NEW ENGINE. THE CAR HAS 126,000 MILES. THE CAR WAS PUT INTO SERVICE BRAND NEW AS MY SON'E BUSINESS CAR FURNISHED BY HIS COMPANY. AT 90,000 MILES THE CAR WAS WHOLESALED TO ME FOR MY GRANDSON. WE HAVE COMPLETE MAINTENANCE AND OIL CHANGED RECORDS FOR ENTIRE LIFE OF CAR. WE CONTACTED THE DEALER WHO INFORMED US WE WOULD HAVE TO DELIVER THE CAR AND PAY $130 FOR THEM TO EVALUATE AND THEY WERE VERY DISCOURAGING THAT HYUNDAI WOULD HONOR ANY KIND OF WARRANTY. WE LEARNED THERE WAS A CLASS-ACTION LAWSUIT INVOLVING THESE ENGINE FAILURES SO WE INTEND TO PURSUE THAT COURSE OF ACTION. VERY, VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE QUALITY OF HYUNDAI AND THEIR RESPONSE.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 55 MPH A WARNING FOR THE HYBRID SYSTEM APPEARED ON THE MIDDLE SCREEN BETWEEN THE GAUGES ALONG WITH AN AUDIBLE CHIME INSTRUCTING TO SAFELY PULL OVER AND STOP THE CAR. AFTER PULLING OVER AND TURNING OFF THE CAR I WAS UNABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. DISPLAY STATED THE HYBRID BATTERY WAS LOW AND NOT TO START THE ENGINE. AFTER HAVING THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALER, THE DEALER STATED THE ENGINE WAS SEIZED. THE CAR HAD BEEN SERVICED AS RECOMMENDED SINCE PURCHASE. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER. THERE WERE NO WARNING SIGNS OF COMPLETE ENGINE FAILURE. I HAVE SINCE LEARNED THAT HYUNDAI SONATA HAD A RECALL FOR ENGINE FAILURES, BUT MY MODEL WAS NOT INCLUDED.
MY STEERING WHEEL COUPLER IS BROKEN NO ONE IS ABLE TO DUE THE WORK ON IT MY WHEEL SHAKES BAD WHEN I GET ONTO THE HIGHWAY AND WHEN DRIVING STREET WAY ALSO ALSO THE BRAKES LIGHTS ARE KEEP GOING OUT I HAVE TO GET MY BRAKE LIGHTS CHANGED EVERY TWO WEEKS

THE CONTACT MADE MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO RESTART THE VEHICLE HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH COMPLETE ENGINE FAILURE. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 90,000.
TOOK MY CAR TO (HYUNDAI SANOTA 2013 TURBO) TO DEALER TO GET BRAKE LIGHTS FIXED AND THE STEERING WHEEL FIXED ACOUPLE OF YEARS AGO...WHICH WAS COVERED BY MY WARRANTY THE UNDERWRITER NOTICE THE PAINT HAD PEALED FROM THE FRONT BUMPER AND STATED HE WILL HAVE THEM PAINT THE BUMPER AFTER HE CHECKED WITH SOMEONE THEY STATED THE OTHER OWNER HAD BUMPER WRAPPED SO HYUNDAI NOT RESPONSIBLE... SINCE THEN I'VE SEEN MANY OF HYUNDAI BUMBERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM 🤔 #2 WHILE DRIVING MY CAR LAST THIS WEEKEND A TAPPING SOUND COMING FROM ENGINE SO I CHAGED MY OIL...AFTER I CHAGED THE OIL THE I DROVE MY CAR NOT EVEN 2 MILES AND IT SEEMED THE TAPPING SOUND WAS GETTING WORSE... THE OIL AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND IT STARTED KNOCKING AND SHUT OFF NOW MY CAR WANT EVEN START MY EXTENDED WARRANTY EXPIRED 2/2020😖
MY CAR HAS LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING. IT HAS NOW HAPPENED 3 TIMES. LUCKILY IT HAS HAPPENED WHILE ON A ROAD AND NOT THE HIGHWAY. THERE ARE OTHER TIMES WHEN I'M STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT OR STOP SIGN AND I CAN FEEL THE CAR LOSING POWER AND/OR SPUTTERING. THE CAR WILL TURN ON AFTER TRYING A FEW TRIES AND WILL HAVE THE ENGINE AND TRACTION CONTROL ALERTS LIGHTS ON. SOMETIMES I WILL HAVE TO KEEP PUSHING ON THE GAS WHILE STEPPING ON THE BREAK TO KEEP THE ENGINE REVVING SO THE CAR DOESN'T DIE. THE ARE ALSO TIMES WHEN IT SEEMS THE CAR LOSES POWER MOMENTARILY THEN KEEPS GOING. VERY SCARY AND DANGEROUS.
THE TRUNK NO LONGER OPENS AUTOMATICALLY WHEN PUSHING THE BUTTON ON REMOTE KEY AND/OR TRUNK BUTTON INSIDE THE CAR. ADDITIONALLY, THE CAR'S DISPLAY SYSTEM NO LONGER OPERATES PROPERLY AND WHEN TOUCHING THE SCREEN TO SELECT AN OPTION, IT OPERATES A DIFFERENT FUNCTION THEN PRESSED. SUCH AS. SELECTING VOLUME UP MIGHT CHANGE THE RADIO STATION INSTEAD. WHEN PRESSING THE SCREEN TO SELECT A DIFFERENT MODE FOR MUSIC, SCREEN WENT COMPLETELY BLACK WHILE NAVIGATING (CAR IN MOTION) AND WAS NO LONGER OPERABLE. THE REAR VIEW CAMERA HAS FAILED AS WELL AND WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PUT IN REVERSE, THERE IS MERELY A BLUE SCREEN AND NO VISUAL OF THE REAR. I HAD AN ERROR MESSAGE DISPLAY ON THE SCREEN ON 15 JULY 20, BUT I AM UNCERTAIN IF THIS IS RELATABLE.
I SENT A NOTICE BEFORE EXPLAINING WHAT HAPPEN BUT I WAS MCDONALD'S LINE MY CAR WAS IN PARK AND WHEN I TRY TO PUT IT IN DRIVE I HEARD A CLICK NOISE MY CAR WOULDN'T MOVE OUT OF PARK AND AFTER HOLDING THE LINE UP OVER AN HOUR I HAD SOMEONE TO HELP ME MOVE IT. IT WAS AFTER 9PM SO I HAD TO SLEEP IN MY CAR UNTIL MIDNIGHT WAITING FOR HELP I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR TOWED TO MY HOME AND IT WAS A $90 FEE I MISSED 3 DAYS OF WORK TO FIND A LOCAL MECHANIC TO FIX IT BECAUSE HYUNDAI SAID MY CAR WASN'T UNDER WARRANTY IT HAD EXPIRE SO NOW I BARELY DRIVE IT BUT STILL HAVE TO MAKE PAYMENT IT STILL NOT FIXED CORRECTLY NOW WHEN I TRY TO SHIFT GEARS IT TAKES A WHILE BEFORE THE COMPUTER READS IT. MY LIGHT ISSUES IN THE CAR THE FRONT HEADLIGHT KEEPS GOING OUT I SPENT OVER $100 IN THE PAST MONTH. NOTHING IS SHOWING IT'S OVER HEATING OR MELTING I HAD TO PAY SOMEONE TO LOOK AT IT AND THEY CAN'T SEEM TO FIGURE IT OUT THIS HAD CAUSE ME TO GET PULLED OVER MORE THAN ONCE BECAUSE I WORK OVERNIGHT. PLEASE HELP
THE STEERING WHEEL CLICKS THE STEERING WHEEL COUPLING HAS GONE BAD IN MOTION AND STATIONARY
I bought this Hyundai 2013 Sonata in June of 2020 with 62,500 miles on it. I do not drive very much as have health issues and needed a good car to take my husband with dementia and myself to doctors and stores etc. After just a few months of owning the car the drivers side seatbelt does not retract when it is clicked in. It just stays loose across my chest. Very scary as don't think it will hold me in in case of accident. I am 67 yrs old so not like I abused the seatbelt and I see it is a common problem but a dangerous one. I am on a fixed income and cannot afford to fix it and think with so many complaints about the seatbelt not locking in place or pulling tight like it should Hyundai should be made to fix the seatbelt. After owning the car 3 years I have only put 1500 miles on it as now around 64,500. Thank you
DRIVING DOWN HWY GOING LOCALLY ABOUT 45 MPH , HEARD BURST OF AIR AND WATER AND CAR STALLED AND CHECKED ENGINE AREA AND WATER AND RADIATOR EVERYWHERE AND IT WILL NOT CRANK.UNKNOWN THIS IS A RECALLED MOTOR THAT WAS REPLACED IN 2018 FOR A ENGINE RECALL AS WELL, PRIOR TO HAVING THIS VEHICLE IN FOR SEROTONIN THE STEERING COLLUM REPLACED AND THE DASHBOARD LIGHT THAT HAS INTENTIONALLY BE COMING OFF AND ON AT MONTHS OF TIME OUT AND ONLY SECONDS OF BEING WORKING PROPERLY,
I REPLACED MY BREAK LIGHTS BULBS OVER 10 TIMES IN ONE YEAR, AND A NUMBER OF POLICE WARNINGS, AND I'M AN AFRICAN AMERICAN MALE. I'M TIRED OF BEING STOPPED FOR A BREAK LIGHT ISSUES.
I HAVE TO REPLACE BOTH FRONT AND BACK LIGHTS VERY OFTEN. THEY ARE ALWAYS BLOWING OUT. VERY UNSAFE. THERE HAVE BEEN TIMES WHEN BOTH FRONT LIGHTS HAVE GONE OUT AND I'VE ENDED UP IN VERY DANGEROUS SITUATIONS.
TWO CRACKS (6 INCHES OR LONGER) HAVE APPEARED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE DASHBOARD (AROUND THE "AIR BAG" INDICATION ON THE DASH). I AM VERY CONCERNED THIS WILL COMPROMISE THE DEPLOYMENT OF THE AIR BAG IF NECESSARY. A FORMAL COMPLAINT (CASE#17284937) WAS LOGGED IN BY HYUNDAI, BUT NO REMEDY WAS GIVEN.
BEGINNING AT AROUND 90K MILES, THERE WAS INTERMITTENT STUTTERING, ABOUT 2 SECONDS APART, WHEREBY THE VEHICLE WOULD LOSE POWER WHILE IN MOTION; AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, BOTH ON ACCELERATION AND DECELERATION OR COASTING. THE EPISODES WERE ONLY HAPPENING AFTER THE CAR HAD BEEN DRIVEN FOR MORE THAN AN HOUR. NOW, AT 92K MILES THE STUTTERING HAS INCREASED IN FREQUENCY AND TODAY I RECEIVED A "HYBRID SYSTEM WARNING! SAFELY STOP AND DO NOT DRIVE" MESSAGE WITH AUDIBLE WARNING CHIMES AND A "WRENCH" ICON ILLUMINATED. THIS TRIP WAS ONLY A TEN MILE TRIP, IN THE MORNING, OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE WAS ABOUT 65F. THE CAR HADN'T BEEN DRIVEN AT ALL THIS DAY PRIOR TO THIS EVENT. THE WARNINGS HAPPENED TWICE, LESS THAN ONE MILE TO MY HOME, AND I BARELY MADE IT TO MY DRIVEWAY, WHERE IT'S NOW PARKED.
THE LIGHTS TURN OFF AFTER TURNING OR EVEN JUST NORMAL DRIVING. THE DASHBOARD INDICATOR SHOWS THIS HAPPENING. THEN YOU JUST HAVE TO HOPE THEY TURN ON.
OUT OF NO WHERE THE TRANSMISSION STARTED TO GIVE ME ISSUES. IT NOW TAKES LONGER FOR THE GEAR TO CHANGE FROM A STOP, REVING MY CAR PAST 4,000 RPM'S TO 5,000RPM'S. WHEN BREAKING THE GEARS JERK WHEN LOWERING, AND WHEN DRIVING WITH CRUISE CONTROL, MY CAR WILL NOT STAY THE SAME PACE. IT WIL LAG OR IT WILL KICK HIGHER, EITHER WAY MAKING MY CAR JERK.
I STARTED MY CAR THE MORNING OF 7/3/2020 AND WHEN I STARTED IT I HEARD A LITTLE RATTLING NOISE THAT SOUNDED LIKE IT WAS COMING FROM THE FRONT TIRE. AFTER DRIVING HOME FROM WORK IT GOT WORSE AND I HEARD THE RATTLING KNOCKING NOISE EVERY TIME I ACCELERATED. IT EVENTUALLY GOT SO LOUD AND BAD I HAD TO PARK THE CAR. IT CONTINUES TO TURN ON BUT THE ENGINE IS KNOCKING WHEN I LOOKED UNDER THE HOOD. MY CAR HAS HAD A RECENT OIL CHANGE SO I DON'T KNOW WHAT COULD CAUSE THIS ISSUE. PLEASE HELP!!!

THE STEERING WHEEL COUPLE HAS FAILED , MAKES THE STEERING WHEEL FEEL LIKES IT CATCHES AND DOESNT WANT TO TURN. MAKES LOUD NOISE 2ND THE ENGINE WILL NOT ACCELERATE SOMETIME UNTIL YOU SHUT THE CAR OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON . THE STEERING IS ALL THE TIME. THE DEAD THROTLE PEDAL IS INTERMITANT
VEHICLE IS BURNING EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF OIL. WE ARE ADDING A QUART OF OIL EVERY 500 MILES. OIL IS NOT LEAKING FROM THE VEHICLE.
My dash board has deep cracks that go all the way through dash board. A lady I work with has exact make and model as me and has same issue. Open research this seems to be a wide spread problem with these specific models and can cause electrical and air bag issues.
All 4 of my door lock actuators have failed since, 1 year in to owning the vehicle. There is a safety concern in not being able to get into or out of the vehicle due to the locks failing. As well as, making me a target for theft. Sometimes the locks will lock, other times they will not. I once put my dogs in the car and the locks would not open back up, it was terrifying. The component has not been checked yet, but I see there was a recall but my Vin was not included for some reason. This happens without warning.

SEIDEL HYUNDAI (6125 SHILLINGTON PLAZA, READING, PA 19607) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
I HAVE AN UNREPAIRED RECALL SINCE FEBRUARY 28 2020 WITH NO REMEDY AVAILIBLE.MY STEERING WHEEL CAM SHAFT IS MAKING A LOUD CLICKING SOUND.
My vehicle and a couple more vehicles that I have seen seem to have a cracked interior dashboard caused by the heat. This problem seems to be common on hyundai's of different models. I've owned several different manufacturered vehicles, and this is the first vehicle manufacturer with a common problem with the cracking of the vehicles interior dashboard it has plastic fumes. There seems to be no remedy for this defective product. I have done research and found alot of people online having the same problem.

ON INVESTIGATING THIS PROBLEM, NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ONLINE HAVE BEEN FOUND WITH OWNERS HAVING THIS SAME PROBLEM ON HYUNDAI SONATAS IN THE PAST DATING BACK BEFORE 2013 AND SOME 2014. SOME HAVING THE PROBLEM REPEATED AFTER HAVING IT REPAIRED.
MY VEHICLE WAS STOLEN IN MID MAY, AND LATER RECOVERED ON JUNE 1ST. I HAD IT TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE IGNITION REPLACED. AFTER COMPLETING THE WORK THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE ENGINE HAD SEIZED. IT HAD WORKED PERFECTLY FINE PRIOR TO THE THEFT.

SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID THE ENGINE HAD A RECALL. #162. THEY SENT THEIR FINDINGS TO HYUNDAI MAIN OFFICE. THE FOLLOWING WEEK, THEY SAID THAT THE SAME TESTS HAD TO BE RESENT. THEN THE MANAGER OF SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID THAT THERE WASN'T A RECALL. AFTER I WAS TOLD THERE WAS. I CALLED THE HYUNDAI DIRECTLY. I RECORDED ALL MY CONVERSATIONS WITH THEM. I WAS TOLD THERE IS A RECALL FOR ENGINE. THAT IT CAN STALL WHILE DRIVING. EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED TO ME. I SET A CASE NUMBER WITH HYUNDAI. I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD GET BACK WITH ME. THEY HAVE NOT FOR OVER A WEEK. HAVEN'T HEARD BACK FROM THE DEALER IN WEEK AND A HALF. I'VE BEEN TOLD THEY WOULD RETURN MY CALL. BUT HAVE NOT RECEIVED A CALL. Known connecting Rod recall since 2020. Hyundai manufacturer just installed a knock sensor and erase code or recall on system. Car having acceleration issues since and been going back to the dealership and states they can’t find any issues since the car is running and has no warning light. I demanded the connecting Rod to be repaired but dealership refused to do so. So where do we go with this recall?
HAS HAPPENED 2 TIMES IN THE PAST MONTH. DRIVING ON 2 LANE HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH WHEN ENGINE STOPS, ALL PANEL LIGHTS COME ON, AND ACCELERATOR IS UNRESPONSIVE. PULL OVER TO SIDE OF ROAD AND RESTART ENGINE WITH NO PROBLEMS FOR REMAINDER OF TRIP. IN THE FIRST INSTANCE, I HAD JUST PASSED A VEHICLE AND WAS BACK IN LANE WHEN IT OCCURRED. IN SECOND INSTANCE I HAD JUST BRAKED FOR A VEHICLE MAKING A RIGHT TURN, AND UPON ACCELERATING TO SPEED, THE VEHICLE ENGINE STOPPED.

MY RIGHT BRAKE LIGHTS ARE ALWAYS GOING OUT. I'M ALWAYS CHANGING IT AND A FEW WEEKS LATER IT WILL GO OUT AGAIN. I'VE BROUGHT IT TO THE SHOP (ALLEN HYUNDAI, GULFPORT, MS) AND I GOT MY 'BRAKE LAMP STOPPER' REPLACED AND HE SAID MY LIGHTS SHOULD WORK FINE. I ORIGINALLY BROUGHT IT IN BECAUSE MY 3RD BRAKE LIGHT WOULD STAY ON WHILE I'M DRIVING AND IT WOULD CAUSE ME TO NOT BE ABLE TO ACCELERATE WHILE DRIVING. THE PAINT IS PEELING ON THE HOOD OF THE CAR. ON THE DASH THERE ARE 2 CRACKS ONE ON EITHER SIDE OF THE AIRBAG ENCLOSURE. THE STEERING WHEEL HAS THE RUBBER PEELING OFF. THE PAINT ON THE TOP OF THE ROOF PANEL IS CRACKED/READY TO PEEL OFF. THE CAR WAS IN MY DRIVEWAY. I HAD TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION SENSOR WITH HARNESS 6/03/2030 I ONLY HAD 42171 MILES AT THE COST OF $751.47 . MY WARRANTY IS FOR 10 YEARS AND 100,000 MILES BUT THEY SAID IT WASN'T COVERED. I WAS DRIVING WHEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND I MADE THE APPOINTMENT IMMEDIATELY AND BROUGHT IT IN 6/03/2020 TO THE HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP.
I HAVE HAD BOTH MY BACK LIGHT HARNESSES WHERE A BULB HAS BLOWN AND IT WAS SO HOT IT MELTED THE BULB ENDS INTO THE SOCKET AND I HAD TO REPLACE THE WHOLE HARNESS FOR BOTH SIDES. A QUICK GOOGLE SEARCH WILL SHOW THAT THIS IS A NORMAL PROBLEM FOR 2013 HYUNDAI SONATA VEHICLE OWNERS. THIS NEEDS TO BE A RECALL OR A TSB WITH OWNER COMMUNICATION TO BE FIXED RAPIDLY.

THE TAIL LIGHT BULBS CONTINUE TO GO BAD. I REPLACE BULBS ALMOST 2 A MONTH. I RECENTLY JUST GOT STOPPED SATURDAY MAY 30 2020 FOR A NON FUNCTIONING TAIL LIGHT.
