TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V121000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MODERN HYUNDAI OF CONCORD DEALER LOCATED AT 965 CONCORD PKWY S., CONCORD, NC 28027 AND IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT PARTS WERE NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BELT FAILED TO RETRACT AND THE SAME DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
Issue with loud popping noise coming from the antenna area of the vehicle, and has occurred when vehicle is not on and the keyless entry has not been used. I have tried for almost 3 years to get this resolved. The dealerships hear the noise but could not fix it. Case open with Hyundai USA.
Any time the light switch is on the "on"position several electrical issues happen. Headlights come on randomly after car turned off and drain battery.Brake light bulbs overheat, burn out and melt casing frequently. Consol lights come on that are not selected and should not be illuminated. Cruise control wont work and engine can loose power momentarily. Was taken for service in 2019 at folsom lake Hyundai dealership but was told no other reports found and they couldnt replicate issue. Nothing was done. Have issues every winter when headlights are used more frequently. Issues getting worse as time goes on.
DEALER (D'ARCY HYUNDAI, JOLIET, IL) CHANGED OIL AND PERFORMED ECM UPDATE 4 DAYS PRIOR TO INCIDENT. DRIVING DOWN INTERSTATE (65MPH), WHILE ON THE WAY HOME FROM OUT OF STATE. ENGINE STARTED KNOCKING, ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND LOSS OF POWER. WAS ABLE TO SAFELY GET OFF THE ROAD AND TO A GAS STATION. CHECKED OIL AND COOLANT. CALLED NEARBY MECHANIC. HE REPORTED ENGINE REPLACEMENT WOULD BE LIKELY. BUT BEING NYE, COULDN'T REALLY HELP. LEFT CAR AND RETURNED TO TOW IT BACK 350 MILES FEW DAYS LATER. CALLED DEALER, SERVICE MANAGER EXPLAINED WHAT HAS BEEN GOING ON, AND ECM UPDATE DID EXACTLY WHAT IT SHOULD HAVE. TOLD ME TO TOW IT BACK TO HIM AND HE'D GET IT TAKEN CARE OF. HAD I KNOWN PREVIOUSLY ABOUT THE ENGINE ISSUE, I PROBABLY WOULD HAVE RENTED A CAR FOR THE ROAD TRIP. OR IF THE ECM UPDATE WAS EXPLAINED PROPERLY AT THE VERY LEAST. STREERING WHEEL MAKING A THUMPING SOUND WHEN ITS TURNED TO LEFT OR RIGHT WHILE CAR IS ON. MECHANIC SUGGESTED IT WAS POSSIBLY THE BUSHINGS AND MENTIONED THEIR MAY HAVE BEEN A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE.
MY 2013 HYUNDAI SONATA HAD COMPLETE AND TOTAL ENGINE FAILURE. I TAKE CARE OF THE CAR AND MAINTAIN IT AND THE ENGINE JUST FAILED IN THE MIDDLE OF A RESIDENTIAL ROAD AT A STOP SIGN. TURNS OUT IT WAS ONE OF MANY THAT HYUNDAI OFFERED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ON BUT I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED MY ENGINE OR CAR FOR THAT MATTER WAS ONE ON A NATIONAL RECALL AND BACKORDER.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 114,000. *BF. CONSUMER STATED DEALER REFUSED TO FIC SINCE IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. CONSUMER TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL DEALER AND WAS QUOTED $200.00. DEALER MENTIONED SAFETY ISSUE IF CONSUMER KEPT DRIVING, STEERING WHEEL MIGHT MALFUNCITON AND WOULD LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED.*JB
I KEEP HAVING TO REPLACE LIGHT BULBS. THEY KEEP BLOWING. HEADLIGHTS FOG LIGHTS BRAKE LIGHTS TAIL LIGHTS.

I HAVE BEEN DRIVING THIS CAR FOR A LITTLE OVER A YEAR AND IN THE PAST MONTH IT HAD HAPPENED A FEW TIMES WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT THE HEADLIGHTS HAVE WENT OFF WHILE DRIVING FIRST IT HAPPENED WHEN USING THE TURN SIGNALS AND THEN IT DONE IT WHILE DRIVING WITHOUT USING A TURN SIGNAL I WAS ON A CITY STREET EVERY TIME IT HAS HAPPENED I AM JUST A LITTLE OVER 60,000 MILES ,FEELING A LITTLE UNCOMFORTABLE DRIVING IT AT NIGHT
I WAS RECENTLY DRIVING DOWN A BUSY ROAD AND MY CAR JUST STOPPED OUT OF NOWHERE NO WARNING SIGNS NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS NOTHING HYUNDAI IS STATING THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS ISSUE WHICH AFTER DOING RESEARCH IS AN EXTREME LIE AND IS REFUSING ANY HELP SINCE I AM NOT THE ORIGINAL OWNER I'M ALSO BEING BLAMED FOR POOR MAINTENANCE SINCE I DON'T GET MY MAINTENANCE DONE AT A DEALERSHIP BUT MY MAINTENANCE IS DONE ON A REGULAR BASIS I'VE HAD ELECTRICAL ISSUES THAT WERE SWEPT UNDER THE RUG HAVING MY BRAKE LIGHTS MELT CONSTANTLY AFTER HAVING THE HARNESS CHANGED MULTIPLE TIMES THE ONLY WAY THEY DON'T IS BY USING ELECTRICAL TAPE AND TAPING THEM SO THAT THEY AREN'T SAFELY TURNED IN LIKE THEY SHOULD BE
THE CAR STARTED MAKING A NOISE FOR A BRIEF MOMENT AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN JUST SHUT DOWN. IT HAD AN OIL CHANGE AND EVERYTHING WAS KEPT UP. I JUST BOUGHT THE CAR IN APRIL.

THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TAKEN TO BROWN'S MANASSAS HYUNDAI (703-361-9600, LOCATED AT 8651 CENTREVILLE RD, MANASSAS, VA 20110). THE DEALER REPLACED THE STEERING COUPLING, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,700.
FIRST INCIDENT INVOLVES A VEHICLE IN MOTION THAT SUDDENLY SHUT DOWN ON ME AND I WAS ON THE INTERSTATE I HAD TO CRUISE OFF THE EXIT INTO A PARKING SPACE. CAR WOULD NOT START BACK ENDED UP TAKING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND HAD TO REPLACE THE RADIATOR. FEW MONTHS FLOWING THAT I'M HEADED INTO WORK AND MY CAR START SMOKING OUT OF NOWHERE AND STARTS RATTLING I PULL OVER TO THE GAS STATION AND CHECK MY FLUIDS ALL ARE FULL. I GET THE CAR TOWED TO DEALERSHIP ALL OF A SUDDEN I NEED A NEW ENGINE. THERE'S BEEN SEVERAL RECALLS FOR ENGINE FAILURES SO I WOULD LIKE MY CAR TO BE CHECKED AS WELL. THIS IS A COSTLY REPAIR TO COME OUT OF NOWHERE ESPECIALLY WHEN I KEEP UP WITH OIL CHANGES ETC
HAVING A DIFFICULT TIME WITH SEATBELTS, DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE. IT TAKES NUMEROUS ATTEMPT TO FASTEN THE SEATBELTS. SOMETIMES WHEN I THINK ITS FASTEN, IT SNAPS OPEN.

THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND THE STEERING WHEEL SHOOK VIOLENTLY. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE BATTERY, BUT THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF AGAIN AND STARTED SMOKING UNDER THE HOOD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE CONTACT'S HOME. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V226000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 133,000.
EVER SINCE I HAD BOUGHT THIS CAR, I HAVE HAD ISSUES ON TOP OF ISSUES WITH IT. I HAVE ALREADY CHANGED 4 HEADLIGHTS AND ONE OF THE REAR LIGHTS, HAD TO REPLACE THE BATTERY, MY STEERING WHEEL WAS CLICKING FOR MONTHS UNTIL FIRESTONE TOLD ME THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY STEERING WHEEL, MY CAR HAD MULTIPLE RECALLS ON IT AND I DID NOT KNOW UNTIL OCTOBER OF 2018 (NO LETTER WAS SENT TO ME) , AND THEN MY ENGINE SEIZED UP 2 TIMES ON THE HIGHWAY! ONCE BACK IN OCTOBER WHEN I LEARNED ABOUT THE RE-CALLS AND AGAIN ON DECEMBER 10TH, 2018 IN WHICH I HAD TO WAIT 3 HOURS IN THE COLD FOR A TOW TRUCK THAT THEN COST $50.00. I KEEP ALL MY RECEIPTS FOR ANYTHING THAT IS DONE TO THE CAR, EVEN OIL CHANGES. ALSO BACK IN OCTOBER WHEN I TOOK MY CAR IN TO RESOLVE THE RECALLS, MY ENGINE PASSED A LOCAL HYUNDAI DEALERSHIPS TEST EVEN THOUGH IT SEIZED UP. NOTHING WAS DONE UNTIL THIS WEEK AFTER THE SECOND TIME IT SEIZED UP ON 12/10/18. THIS IS MY 3RD CAR I HAVE EVER OWNED, FIRST A 2005 NISSAN ALTIMA, AND THEN A 2015 DODGE DART (LEASE) AND NOW THIS HYUNDAI SONATA. OUT OF ALL THE CARS THAT I HAVE OWNED, THIS CAR HAS GIVEN ME THE MOST ISSUES. ON TOP OF THE ISSUES I HAVE LISTED ABOVE, THE HEAT/AIR CONDITIONING DOES NOT EVEN TURN OFF PROPERLY. IF I KNEW THAT I WAS GOING TO RUN INTO THIS MANY ISSUES I WOULD HAVE NEVER PURCHASED A HYUNDAI. I AM A SINGLE FULL TIME STUDENT WHO ALSO WORKS FULL TIME AND I OWN MY OWN HOUSE. I DO NOT HAVE ANY TYPE OF MONEY TO KEEP FORKING OUT ON THIS CAR. CURRENTLY LANCASTER HYUNDAI IS REPLACING MY ENGINE, BUT HONESTLY, I WISH I HAD A NEW CAR WITH ALL THESE ADDED EXPENSES. I PAID $15,183.15 ON THIS CAR, I STILL OWE $11,705 ON THIS CAR AND IT SHOULD NOT HAVE ANY ISSUES. THIS CAR IS ONLY 5 YEARS OLD AND THIS IS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD. THE ISSUES ARE CURRENTLY BEING FIXED AT MY LOCAL HYUNDAI BUT I WOULD RATHER GET A NEW CAR,TOO BAD I OWE SO MUCH.
DRIVING 65 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY MY CAR SOUNDED LIKE IT WAS GOING TO FALL APART. THEN 2 MINS LATER IT SHUTS OFF ON ME. LEAVING ME STRANDED FOR AN HOUR ON I66. HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED BACK TO MY HOUSE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO STERLING MCCALL HYUNDAI (LOCATED AT 10505 SOUTHWEST FWY, HOUSTON, TX 77074, (713) 981-4400) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TURBO BOOST SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 81,000.

THE TRACTION CONTROL AND BRAKE WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE ALSO OCCURRED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IDLE AND AFTER ACTIVATING THE HEADLAMP SWITCH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED. BENTLEY HYUNDAI (3805 UNIVERSITY DR, HUNSTVILLE, AL 35816, (256)713-0505) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE ENGINE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPLACED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V226000 (ENGINE). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
BRAKE LIGHTS AND HEAD LIGHTS KEEP BURNING OUT. I HAVE TO CHANGE MY BRAKE LIGHTS EVERY FEW WEEKS SAME WITH MY HEAD LIGHTS.
KNOCKING IN STEERING COLUMN, PLACING IN GEAR (PARK/REVERSE) AUTOMATIC LOCKS NOT ALWAYS WORKING AND BACK UP CAMERA BLUE AND GLITCHING.
MY STEERING WHEEL STARTED TO FEEL A LITTLE LOOSE AND STARTED MAKING A THUMPING NOISE WHEN STEERING LEFT OR RIGHT. IT DOES THIS ONLY WHEN THE CAR IS IN IDLE OR WHILE BEEN DRIVEN, DOES NOT DO THIS WHEN TURNED OFF. I WAS JUST TOLD BY A LOCAL MECHANIC THE ENTIRE STEERING COLUMN WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED.

SECOND MY INTERIOR LIGHT IS IN DOOR MODE DOES NOT GO OFF AS IT SHOULD THIS IS RANDOM AS WELL SOMETIMES IT WILL GO OFF OTHER TIMES IT DOES NOT. I HAVE TO KEEP IT IN OFF MODE - NOT FUN AT NIGHT LEAVING IN DARK FOR WORK OR LOADING UNLOADING BABIES. IT HAS TO STAY IN OFF MODE SO BATTERY DOESN'T DIE. THIRD- CRUISE CONTROL ONCE AGAIN RANDOM SOMETIMES I CAN GET IT TO SET OTHER TIMES I CANNOT SOME TIMES I CAN PULL OVER PARK TURN OFF AND ATTEMPT AGAIN AND IT STILL DOESN'T WORK. FOURTH- CAR WOULDN'T START , NOT BATTERY RELATED SOME INTERIOR LIGHTS WORKED SOME DIDN'T RADIO DIDN'T CLOCK DID ALL DASH LIGHTS WORKED TRUNK WOULD NOT OPEN VIA INSIDE BUTTON OR KE BUTTON, GAS TANK WOULD OPEN WITH BUTTON. THE DOOR OPEN ALARM WOULD DING. FIFTH- ODD SOUNDS BEST DESCRIBED AS GRINDING BRAKES FAN BELT MOVEMENT THAT'S BROKE AND THIS IS LOUDER AND LOUDER THEN STOPS ALSO HAS ODD SMELL AT THE TIMES OF OCCURRENCE -DEALERSHIP CLAIMS NOTHING IS WRONG OBVIOUSLY SOMETHING IS. THESE HAVE BEEN DIFFERENT OCCURANCES SOMETIMES MORE THAN ONCE AT THE SAME TIME. SOME OCCURRING FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS NOW
WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE I WAS PASSING AN 18 WHEELER AND THE CARS PASSING GEAR KICKED IN AND THE CAR STUTERED AFTER I GOT PASSED THE TRUCK AND THE ENGINE DIED AND LOST ALL OIL AND INTERNAL ENGINE PARTS WENT THROUGH THE BLOCK AND I ALMOST GOT HIT BY THE TRUCK WHILE I WAS MOVING OFF THE ROAD THIS ENGINE HAS ALREADY HAD ONE RECALL AND I HAD IT CHECKED ABOUT 4 OR 5 MONTHS AGO DUE TO THE INTERNAL BEARINGS WEARING DOWN AND LEAVING METAL SHAVINGS IN THE ENGINE AND THEY SAID IT WAS FINE AND DIDN'T REPLACE THE ENGINE.
Hyundai is at it again for not repairing safety defects! I filed the following claim with Hyundai but was first the claim was accepted and allowed then denied when Hyundai objected! The attached documents show my efforts on both the steering issue and fire issue!
AFTER A SERVICE RECALL TO REMOVE METAL SHAVINGS FROM THE ENGINE IN MARCH OF 2018, WE PURCHASED A NEW PRIMARY VEHICLE AND THIS VEHICLE WAS USED SPARINGLY. WE HAVE DRIVEN THIS CAR NO MORE THAN 3K MILES SINCE THE RECALL, AND AFTER DRIVING IT A ON A THOUSAND MILE ROUND TRIP TO VISIT FAMILY IN NOVEMBER I BEGAN HEARING ENGINE KNOCKING AND THE ENGINE STALLED ON ME SEVERAL TIMES. BASED ON THE MOST RECENT RECALL FOR 2013 HYUNDAI SONATAS WHICH IS SOME SOFTWARE UPDATE THAT IS SUPPOSED TO DETECT ENGINE KNOCKING, IT APPEARS A BEARING HAS FAILED IN THE ENGINE, EITHER AS A RESULT OF OR IN SPITE OF THE SERVICE PERFORMED LAST YEAR. MY FUEL ECONOMY IN THE CAR HAS PLUMMETED, PRESUMABLY AS A RESULT OF A BLOWN CYLINDER, AND OIL NOW LEAKS FROM PARTS UNKNOWN. UPON CONTACTING HYUNDAI'S CUSTOMER CARE CENTER IT SEEMS THIS ENGINE FAILURE IS NOT COVERED BY ANY RECALL, EVEN THOUGH IT IS QUITE OBVIOUS THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM BASED ON RESEARCHING COMPLAINTS HERE. MY WIFE HAD HER CAR SERVICED RELIGIOUSLY, AND I HAVE A 1998 TRUCK THAT HAS MORE MILES AND LESS ENGINE PROBLEM THAN THIS CAR HAS HAD. WE ARE LEAVING THIS CAR PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY BECAUSE IT IS UNSAFE TO TRAVEL ON THE STREETS, AND HYUNDAI WILL NOT TOW IT TO THE CLOSEST DEALERSHIP. BASED ON THE SHEER NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS THAT ARE SIMILAR, HYUNDAI SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO FIX ANY ENGINES THAT HAVE FAILED OR SEIZED AS A RESULT OF FAULTY BEARINGS.
VEHICLE WAS DRIVING PERFECTLY FINE, NO NOISES, DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE WITH MY DAUGHTER IN THE CAR, THE MOTOR LOCKED UP AND CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE CAR TURNED OFF ON ITS OWN AND I WAS ABLE TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND PUT OUT THE FIRE. I CONTACTED NUMEROUS DEALERSHIPS, HYUNDAI AND TRIED TO HAVE THE MOTOR REPLACED DUE TO SEEING THIS RECALL AND WAS DENIED SAYING MY VIN DID NOT FALL UNDER THAT RECALL. SO I HAD TO PURCHASE A NEW MOTOR AND PAY FOR INSTALLATION ON MY OWN.
THE TAIL LIGHTS ON MY 2013 SONATA CONSTANTLY BURN OUT. THIS TIME THE BULB IS NOT BLOWN, AND BOTH FILAMENTS ARE INTACT, THE TAIL LIGHTS DO NOT COME ON WITH THE HEADLIGHTS, BUT THE BRAKE LIGHTS STILL WORK. ALSO, NOW THE BULBS ARE STUCK IN THE SOCKETS, AND THE BULBS GOT SO HOT IT MELTED THE OUTER EDGE OF WHERE THE BULB SOCKET ON THE BACK OF THE TAIL LIGHT HOUSING GOES, NOT ALLOWING THE SOCKET TO PROPERLY GO BACK INTO PLACE.
I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM HYUNDAI EXTENDING THE WARRANTY FOR THE FRONT COIL SPRINGS FOR 2011-2014 SONATAS AS WELL AS 2012-2016 ELANTRAS; NOTE THEY DID NOT REFER TO IT AS A "RECALL" AND THERE IS NO DATE ON THE LETTER. I FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO FILE A CLAIM IF I HAD ALREADY REPAIRED MY VEHICLE. I SUBMITTED THE DOCUMENT PER THEIR WEBSITE AND SINCE THEN THEY HAVE REPEATEDLY REQUESTED ADDITIONAL INFORMATION TO DELAY PAYMENT FOR A "KNOWN DEFECTIVE ITEM". INITIAL DOCUMENT SUBMITTED "PAID IN FULL" INVOICE SHOWING MILEAGE OF 39,623 AT TIME OF REPAIR. ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS SUBMITTED; COPY OF BANK STATEMENT & FRONT OF CHECK SHOWING PAYMENT CLEARED AND CURRENT MILEAGE 6 MONTHS LATER. THEY ALSO WANTED PROOF OF REGISTRATION WHICH IS NOT RELEVANT. TODAY 6/20/19 THEY REQUESTED I PROVIDE A COPY OF THE "BACK OF THE CHECK" AGAIN WHICH IS NOT RELEVANT WITH THE DOCUMENTS I HAVE PROVIDED. THIS IS A DELIBERATE ATTEMPT TO AVOID THEIR RESPONSIBILITY FOR A "KNOWN DEFECT". HOW MANY OTHER CONSUMERS ARE BEING FORCED TO JUMP THROUH HOOPS AND HOW MANY HAVE MADE THE REPAIRS AND NO LONGER OWN THEIR VEHICLES AND NOT BEING REIMBURSED FOR PAID REPAIRS. HOW MANY CRASHES OCCURRED AS A RESULT OF A BROKEN SPRING OR TIRES DESTROYED? WHAT ABOUT PERSONAL INJURIES? I BELIEVE THE NTSB SHOULD REQUEST SPECIFICS FROM HYUNDAI AND FEEL FREE TO USE MY NAME. I WAS INVOLVED IN A MAJOR ACCIDENT ON 11-13-18 INVOLVING SOMEONE REAR ENDING ME FROM BEHIND. BRAKE LIGHTS KEEP BURNING OUT,HAVE TO REPLACE BULBS EVERY FEW WEEKS, IT HAS BURNED/MELTED THE HOUSING TO THE POINT THAT BULB CAN NO LONGER BE LOCKED IN PLACE IN THE HOUSING, INTERIOR LIGHTS START TURNING ON AND OFF ON THEIR OWN, STEERING WHEEL BUTTONS WILL PERFORM ANOTHER FUNCTION THAN WHAT THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO DO. THESE PROBLEMS HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING AND USUALLY ONLY WHILE CAR HAS BEEN DRIVING FOR LONGER PERIODS OF TIME BUT CAN BE ON CITY STREET OR HIGHWAY.
I HAVE A 2013 SONATA AND THE BRAKE LIGHT GOT SO HOT IT MELTED THE CASING. WHEN I TRIED TO REPLACE IT THE CASING HAD SWOLLEN SO LARGE THAT THE BULB FIT BACK INTO THE CASING. THE BULB ALSO MELTED TO EACH SOCKET ON EACH SIDE OF THE CAR. SUMMER OF 2018 I COMPLAINED TO CARMAX ABOUT ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS TO CHECK. MY HORN UNEXPECTEDLY WILL NOT WORK, MY MONITOR STOPPED WORKING AND WAS REPLACED (OCT 2018) BUT NOW IT BLINKS OFF AND ON, AND I WOULD REPLACE MY EXTERIOR LIGHTS ALMOST EVERY 2-3 MONTHS. RECENTLY (NOV 2018) I WAS TOLD MY BRAKE LIGHTS WERE OUT SO I WENT TO REPLACE THEM AT AUTOZONE AND WAS TOLD MY LIGHT CASES ARE MELTED AS WELL AS THE BULB HOLDER IS BURNT. I HAVE ONLY HAD THIS CAR FOR 1 YEAR AND 10 MONTHS. SINCE PURCHASING THIS CAR I HAVE REPLACED MY CV JOINTS 4 TIMES, HAD A NEW MONITOR PUT IN THE CAR, NEW ENGINE AND OTHER RECALLS COMPLETED ON THIS CAR. I FEEL IT IS IMPORTANT THAT THE MANUFACTURER COMPLETELY RECALL THIS MODEL YEAR FOR SAFETY REASONS.

I HAVE A HYUNDAI SONATA 2013, WHEN I GO TO START MY CAR MY KEY IS NOT BEING DETECTED. I HAVE A PUSH TO START KEYLESS ENTRY CAR. I HAVE HAD THE BATTERY REPLACED, CHANGED THE BATTERY IN THE KEY PAD THINKING THAT WOULD SOLVE THE PROBLEM BUT APPARENTLY IT DID NOT. WHILE TRYING TO ACCELERATE TO GET ON HIGHWAY MY CAR STALLED AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THEN IT JERKED FORWARD AND ACCELERATED ALL AT ONCE.
