TAIL LIGHTS AND BRAKE LIGHTS CONSTANTLY BURN OUT. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR OVER 4 YEARS FOR ME AND ACCORDING TO COMPLAINTS ONLINE, IT'S BEEN AN ISSUE AS FAR BACK AS 2010 FOR SONATAS. THE BULBS ARE BURNING OUT TOO QUICKLY AND I AM AFRAID THAT IT MAY LEAD TO A FIRE. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO CONTINUE BUYING REPLACEMENT BULBS OR PAYING FEES TO FIX THIS PROBLEM WHICH HYUNDAI IS RESPONSIBLE FOR.
"CLICKING" OR "POPPING" NOISE IN STEERING COLUMN THAT CAN BE FELT WHEN STEERING. STEERING WHEEL LOOSE AND HAS "SLACK" WHEN STEERING THE VEHICLE WHILE IN MOTION.
A RECALL HAS BEEN SETTLED. WE ARE ENTITLED TO ENGINE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT. I HAVE MADE 14 PAYMENTS ON A CAR SITTING AT A HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP, IN A RECALL THAT IS OFFICIALLY SETTLED, AND IT WON'T/DOESN'T RUN AND THEY WON'T HELP AT ALL. THEY REPLACED MY DIPSTICK....LIGHT CAME ON...REPLACED MY OIL FILL CAP...REPEAT....
I WENT TO DRIVE MY CAR TO WORK FRIDAY MORNING 6/27/2018 AND IT WAS DEAD. MY HUSBAND HAD MY BATTERY TESTED, THEY SAID IT WAS LOW SO WE BOUGHT A NEW BATTERY AND IT WORKED. CAR RAN FINE FOR THE NIGHT AND NEXT AFTERNOON, THEN OUT OF THE BLUE MY CAR STALLED AND WOULDN'T START AGAIN ( 6/28/2018) I HAD TO JUMP IT. IT STARTED RIGHT AWAY NO PROBLEMS, NOISES ETC. I WENT AHEAD AND DROVE IT TO OUR MECHANICS PLACE ACROSS TOWN (APPROX. 2-3 MILES) FOR THEM TO LOOK AT ON MONDAY. AS WE WERE GETTING OUT OF THE CAR (IT WAS TURNED OFF AND PARKED) WE NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD AND THEN VERY QUICKLY FLAMES. WHEN I DROVE THE CAR THOSE 2-3 MILES THERE WAS NO STRANGE NOISES OR SOUNDS COMING FROM ENGINE. WE CALLED FIRE DEPARTMENT. THIS HAPPENED 07/28/2018. AND MY CAR HAS BEEN SEEN BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY AND IS TOTALED.
I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE ON THE 95 N GOING ONTO 295 N HIGHWAY FOR APPROXIMATELY 1 HOUR WHEN IT STARTED TO LOSE POWER AND SMOKE. I PULLED OVER AND DISCOVERED VIA ANOTHER CAR PASSING BY THAT THE VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE AND IT WENT UP IN FLAMES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, AN ABNORMAL NOISE WAS HEARD WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL WAS TURNED TO THE RIGHT OR LEFT. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE SAME SYMPTOMS AS LISTED IN THE MANUFACTURER'S EXTENDED WARRANTY: TXX7 (STEERING). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 97,000.
ON JULY 10,2018 I TOOK MY 2013 HYUNDAI SONATA LIMITED TO MCCAFFERTY HYUNDAI SERVICE IN LANGHORNE, PA FOR A ROUTINE FRONT BRAKE JOB. AS I DROVE HOME AFTERWARDS I NOTICE A 'PULSING' WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES. I CALLED THE SVC DEPT AND WAS INSTRUCTED TO RETURN. I WAS THEN TOLD I NEEDED NEW ROTORS EVEN THOUGH THEY HAD JUST DONE MY BRAKES. DRIVING HOME AFTER THIS VISIT MY CAR BEGAN STALLING WHEN I WOULD COME TO A STOP. IN THE TEN MINUTES IT TAKES ME TO GET HOME MY CAR STALLED 9 TIMES, AND BY THE TIME I GOT TO MY STREET THERE WAS SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. ON THIS VISIT TO THE SVC DEPT I WAS TOLD THE STARTER HAD FAILED AND NEED REPLACED AND THAT IT HAD RUINED THE BATTERY, SO THEY REPLACED BOTH. I DROVE THE CAR FOR A LITTLE OVER TWO WEEKS AND ON JULY 26 IT BEGAN MAKE A HEAVY TAPPING SOUND DURING ACCELERATION, BUT WOULD SUBSIDE WHEN IDLING, SO I MADE ANOTHER APPT. FOR JULY 30. ON THE MORNING OF JULY 27 I GOT IN MY CAR TO GO TO WORK AND WHEN THE ENGINE STARTED THERE WAS A 'CHIRPING ' SOUND AND THE TAPPING SOUND BECAME LOUDER AND MORE CONSTANT AND WAS ACCOMPANIED BY A RATTLING ALONG WITH THE 'CHIRPING ' SO I DROVE RIGHT TO MCCAFFERTY. I AM NOW BEING TOLD THAT I HAVE 'METAL SHAVINGS FLOATING AROUND IN THE BOTTOM OF THE ENGINE' AND THAT ' HYUNDAI HAS BEEN HAVING SOME ISSUES WITH THESE ENGINES'. SO NOW MY ENGINE IS BEING REPLACED.
THE MANUFACTURER OF MY CAR HAS FAILED TO REMEDY MULTIPLE SAFETY RECALLS FOR MY VEHICLE IN A TIMELY MANNER. THE KNOWN RECALLS WERE ISSUED IN 2017, AND ARE RECALL #162 AND #169.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE ON JULY 25, 2018 AND IT SUDDENLY STOPPED ON THE HIGHWAY. I TOOK IT IN AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS AN ENGINE FAILURE.

THE DEALER (BRAMAN MIAMI HYUNDAI, 2001 NE 2ND AVE, MIAMI, FL 33137, (786) 220-6929) ACKNOWLEDGED THE ENGINE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V226000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,000.
HEAR A CLICKING NOISE AROUND 2000-3500 RPMS, AND GOING UP SLIGHT INCLINES. IT'S ABOUT 4-7 CLICKS BACK TO BACK
MY ENGINE CATCH ON FIRE. I WAS DRIVING HIGHWAY WHEN I STARTED TO HEAR A LOUD FLAPPING / KNOCKING NOISE . IT GOT LOUDER WHEN I PRESSED ON THE GAS PEDAL. ALL OF A SUDDEN THE ENGINE DIED GOING 55 MPH ON THE HIGHHWAY. I GUIDE THE CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY . IMMEDIATELY SEEING SMOKE COMING FROM THE HOOD/ ENGINE. THEN FLAMES SHOOT UP FROM THE ENGINE. GOT OUT THE CAR CALL 911 . THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS ABLE TO PUT THE FIRE OUT BUT IT WAS TOO LATE THE WHOLE ENGINE WAS DESTROY. GLAD I WAS NOT HURT BUT MY CAR IS A TOTAL LOSS. I DIDNT HAVE THE POLICE REPORT WILL HAVE IT WITHIN 10 DAYS PER ALABAMA STATE TROOPER DEPARTMENT
MY STEERING IS MAKING A RATTLING NOISE WHEN HITTING A BUMP IN THE ROAD AND OR MAKING A LEFT TURN. LOOKING IT UP ONLINE IT IS DEFECTIVE AND CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT WHILE DRIVING THE CAR. MY CAR JUST PASSED THE WARRANTY AND THE DEALER WILL NOT FIX IT. THIS IS DANGEROUS AND I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR A DEFECTIVE.

STEERING COLUMN IS MAKING A LOUD CLUNKING NOISE THAT SOUNDS LIKE LOOSE LINKAGE, ESPECIALLY WHEN THE CAR HITS A BUMP . BUSHING IS GONE/ MISSING?
YESTERDAY AT 2:10 PM I WAS IN A VEHICLE ACCIDENT. I WAS IN MOTION ON THE HIGHWAY AND A JEEP T-BONED ME. I HAD JUST TURNED ONTO THE HIGHWAY SO I WAS O LY GOING ABOUT 20 MPH. THE OTHER VEHICLE WAS COMING OUT OF A PARKING LOT AT A HIGH SPEED AND SMACKED INTO ME. MY VEHICLE THEN BEGAN SPINNING OUT OF CONTROL DOWN THE ROAD. I THEN CAME TO A STOP PARALLEL TO A FEW FEET FROM A BUILDING. NONE OF MY AIRBAGS DEPLOYED.
I BROUGHT THIS VEHICLE FROM SHEEHY OF WALDORF AND THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN PROBLEMS I HAVE BEEN STOP BY POLICE IN BALTIMORE CITY TAILLIGHTS KEEP BLOWING AND FRONT ENGINE PROBLEMS FRONT END PROBLEM MY INSURANCE COMPANY SAID THIS VECHICLE BEEN DECLARED UNSAFE TO DRIVE I BROUGHT THIS REPORT AND THEY DELETED INFORMATION OF THE CARFAX AND ME STATE INSPECTION MILEAGE IS DIFFERENT AND MY TITLE AND CONTACT HAS THE SAME MILEAGE AND THE SERVICE PAPER OS LIES GM TOLD KE NO NEW TIRE WAS NOT PUT ON THE CAR BUT SERVICE PAPER THAT THEY STATES NEW TIRES ON THE CARFAX THEY STATE ONLY THING THEY DONE ON INSPECTION WAS A LEFT TIRE END THE WIRING IS CUT ON BOTH SIDES ON BACK LIGHTS AND WERE THE FUSES ITS ALOT OF ELECTRIC TAPE THEY SCAMMED ME AND DID FRAUDULENTLY ACTIVITY TO ME WITH THIS CAR I WAS TOLD THIS TITLE BEEN WASH IT NOT SAFE TO DRIVE ON THE ROAD ENGINE PROBLEM FRONT END PROBLEM TIRES WORM I DIDN'T PUT FOUR THOUSAND MILES REALLY

THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SEAT BELT RESTRAINT SYSTEM FAILED TO OPERATE AS INTENDED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SEAT BELT SUPPORT AND FRONT PASSENGER SEAT FRACTURED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A CONCUSSION, A HEMATOMA ON THE FOREHEAD, AND SWELLING OF THE BRAIN. THE FRONT SEAT PASSENGER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE HEAD AND SWELLING WHEN HER HEAD STRUCK THE WINDSHIELD. TWO ADDITIONAL PASSENGERS IN THE REAR SEATS SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES. THE CONTACT AND PASSENGERS SOUGHT MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 89,500.

THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE RIGHT ARM AND NECK THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW YARD AND DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 74,000.

THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A CONCUSSION THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTO BODY SHOP TO REPAIR THE FRONT END DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. THE AIR BAG FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT CALLED KEY HYUNDAI OF MANCHESTER AT (860) 643-2700 (LOCATED AT 21 HARTFORD TURNPIKE, VERNON, CT 06066). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. DEALERSHIP PERFORMED OIL CONSUMPTION TEST. ADDED/TOPPED UP IN EXCESS OF 1 LITRE OIL EVERY 1500 KILOMETRES. ABBOTSFORD HYUNDAI AND HYUNDAI CANADA STATE THIS IS NORMAL OIL CONSUMPTION ! THE VEHICLE CANNOT MAKE IT FROM ONE OIL CHANGE (EVERY 6000 KILOMETRES) TO NEXT WITHOUT THE ENGINE GOING DRY! THIS SEEMS UNACCEPTABLE. OWNED MANY DIFFERENT BRANDS AND HAVE NEVER HAD THIS ISSUE! ALSO THE ENGINE IS VERY LOAD (SOUNDS RATTLING).

THE CONTACT STATED THE LIGHT BULBS WERE REPLACED 8 TIMES HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ALLEN TURNER HYUNDAI LOCATED AT 6501 PENSACOLA BLVD, PENSACOLA, FL 32505, (850) 479-9667, TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE BRAKE LIGHT ASSEMBLIES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY HEADED HOME MY CAR GAVE OUT ON ME IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC ON HIGHWAY I 26 GOING WEST I WAITED ON THE HIGHWAY FOR HOURS TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT HAPPENED TO CAR I CALLED HYUNDAI OF NORTH CHARLSTON TOLD THEM WHAT WAS GOING ON THEY TOLD ME TO GET THE CAR TO THEM WHICH WAS 225 FOR TOWING THEY TOLD ME THAT I HAD A OPEN 162 CAMPAIGN AND OTHER THINGS GOING ON IT'S GOING TO BE OVER TWO WEEKS BEFORE I GET MY CAR BACK AND TODAY IS THE 3 DAY I HAVE BEEN WITH A CAR AND THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO RENT ME A CAR

CAR BEGAN TO START BRAKING ON ITS OWN AT APPROXIMATELY 94,000 MILES WHILE DRIVING IN CLEAR WEATHER BOTH AT HIGH AND LOW SPEEDS. SHORTLY AFTER, THE ESC MALFUNCTION LIGHT ON THE DASH CAME ON. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THE BRAKE PEDAL STOPPER WAS REPLACED. (NOTE: THIS HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED ON THIS MODEL) LESS THAN TWO WEEKS LATER THE PROBLEM WAS BACK. TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. BRAKE PEDAL SWITCH WAS REPLACED. AGAIN A FEW WEEKS LATER THE PROBLEM WAS BACK. DEALERSHIP COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM. AFTER WEEKS OF BACK AND FORTH WITH HYUNDAI, THEY FINALLY SENT AN ENGINEER. NOW THEY'RE SAYING THE CASING FOR THE TAIL LIGHTS NEED TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE THE BRAKE LIGHTS HAVE BURNED THE WIRING AND MELTED THE CASING. ALL DURING THIS TIME, MY CAR WILL START (PUSH BUTTON) WITHOUT HAVING MY FOOT ON THE BRAKES. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. I'VE READ REPORTS OF THE BRAKE LIGHTS STAYING ILLUMINATED DUE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL STOPPER ISSUE. I'M ASSUMING THIS IS WHAT CAUSED THE MELTING AND WIRING ISSUE. THE BRAKE PEDAL STOPPER NEEDS TO BE RECALLED FOR THIS MODEL!
THE FRONT LIGHTS AND BACK LIGHTS KEEP BLOWING. I CAN'T KEEP LIGHTS WORKING. I HAVE PURCHASED PROBABLY 30 BULBS FOR THIS CAR.
BROUGHT MY CAR INTO A HYUNDAI DEALER IN SEPT 2017 FOR ENGINE RECALL. WAS TOLD IT DIDN'T NEED TO BE FIXED. JUNE 2018, I WAS 3 HOURS AWAY FROM HOME. ENGINE WAS MAKING NOISES, BROUGHT IT TO A HYUNDAI DEALER, THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. SHOULDN'T THE FIRST DEALERSHIP HAVE REPLACED THE ENGINE SINCE IT WAS A RECALL? NOW I HAVE TO TAKE OFF WORK TO DRIVE 6 HOURS ROUND TRIP TO PICK UP MY CAR WHEN IT WOULD HAVE BEEN 5 MINUTES IF THE FIRST DEALERSHIP FIXED THE RECALL. I AM LOOSING A DAYS PAY

WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, ALL LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD FLASHED ON, THEN ENGINE TURNED OFF. PULLED OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. SMOKE CAME FROM THE ENGINE FOR A MOMENT. TRIED TO RESTART THE CAR, BUT IT WON'T START. ALL LIGHTS AND ELECTRONICS WORK IN CAR. NO CODES BEING THROWN BY CAR. IMMOBILIZER INDICATOR IS ON AND CAR WON'T DETECT KEYFOB WHEN INSIDE OF VEHICLE OR WHEN PLACED IN KEYFOB SLOT IN CENTER CONSOLE.
THE BREAK LIGHTS FOR THIS VEHICLE HAVE REPEATEDLY GONE OUT THROUGHOUT THE YEARS OF HAVING THE CAR. THE BULBS HAVE BEEN REPLACED NUMEROUS TIMES AND THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. THIS PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE LINKED TO MANUFACTURING AND POTENTIALLY AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE. NOW, THE BULBS SEEM TO MELT AND BECOME HARD TO REMOVE. THE SOCKET FOR THE LIGHT APPEARS TO EVEN WARP. THOUGH THIS REPORT REQUESTS A SPECIFIC DATE, THIS PROBLEM SEEMS TO HAVE PERSISTED FOR ATLEAST TWO-THREE YEARS.
THE STEERING WHEEL HAS DEVELOPED EXTENSIVE PLAY AND HAS A "THUMP" NOISE THAT IS FELT WHEN THE CAR IS SITTING IDLE. DURING DRIVING THE COLUMN HAS PLAY THE IS MAKING THE VEHICLE HARD TO CONTROL, ALTHOUGH NOT TO A VERY LARGE EXTEND, IT WAS NOT THERE BEFORE. STEERING PLAY FORM CENTER IS ABOUT 3 INCHES WHEN BEFORE IT HAD NONE. DURING DRIVING ON A CITY ROAD THE STEERING IS A CHALLENGE TO MAINTAIN, BUMPS MAKE IT FEEL A IF THE COLUMN IS LOOSE THE CAR SWAYS IN LANE IF DRIVER IS NOT PAYING CLOSE ATTENTION. ITS BEEN CHECKED AND EVERYTHING SEEMS TO BE TIGHT, WHEELS AND AXLES SEEM OK.
IN JUST OVER 18 MONTHS OF OWNERSHIP, WE HAVE HAD TO CHANGE BRAKE LIGHTS AT MINIMUM 9 TIMES. WE HAVE BEEN TOLD BY ONE MECHANIC THAT IT'S AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE BUT THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT IT WASN'T. A THIRD MECHANIC STATED THAT IT IS AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE. CURRENTLY, THE BRAKE LIGHT SOCKET WIRING IS BURNED REQUIRING REPLACEMENT OF THE ENTIRE BRAKE LIGHT HOUSING UNIT. FOR THE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS NOTED ON THE INTERNET, THIS SHOULD BE REPLACED BY HYUNDAI AND SHOULD NOT BE AN EXPENSE TO OWNERS. ADDITIONALLY, MY CAR STALLED SUDDENLY ( THE ENGINE SEIZED ) AND THE REPAIR (REPLACEMENT OF ENGINE) WAS COVERED BY HYUNDAI WARRANTY EXTENSION.
MY BRAKE LIGHTS CONTINUOUSLY BURN OUT FORCING ME TO REPLACE THEM. I'VE HAD TO REPLACE THEM 4 TIMES NOW IN THE LAST 4 YEARS. I'M NOT CERTAIN HOW LONG I'D BE DRIVING WITHOUT ONE BRAKE LIGHT OR BOTH AT ANY TIME. I'VE RESEARCHED ONLINE WITH OTHER COMPLAINTS WITH THE SAME ISSUE WITH MODELS 2011-2014 THAT I'VE NOTICED. IRONICALLY, MY MOTHER'S 2003 HYUNDAI SONATA'S BRAKE LIGHTS ARE NOW OUT TOO AND WHO KNOWS HOW LONG SHE'S BEEN DRIVING LIKE THAT. SHE RECENTLY TOOK HER CAR INTO THE SHOP FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AND I IMAGINE THAT THEY SO A 20+ POINT CHECK EVEN WHEN I TAKE MY CAR INTO THE SHOP (COASTAL MELBOURNE) FOR AN OIL CHANGE. I KNOW THIS IS TYPICALLY FOR SAFETY-RELATED ISSUES, BUT IT'S A RISK IN MY OPINION THAT CARS BEHIND ME ARE NOT INDICATED THAT I'M BRAKING.

THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN DUE TO THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 59,000.
THE GEAR LOCKED IN NEUTRAL HAD TO GO UNDER THE HOOD AND MANUALLY PUT CAR IN PARK THE GEAR SHIFT STICK WILL MOVE FREELY BUT THE GEARS ARE NOT SHIFTING THE CARE IS RUNNING FINE BRAKE LIGHTS ARE WORKING AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS NOT ON CAR STARTS UP FINE
THE REAR LIGHT ASSEMBLY KEEPS BURNING OUT THE LIGHT BULB. I CHANGED THE LIGHT BULBS SEVERAL TIMES AND THEN REPLACED THE UNIT LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE. BELIEVE IT IS AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE. ALSO, SOMETHING INSIDE THE STEERING WILL IS MOVING AROUND.
THE COIL SPRING ON THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE STRUT BROKE CAUSING THE SPRING TO SLIDE DOWN OVER THE STRUT AND IMMEDIATELY STRIKING THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT TIRE WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEED 55MPH. THE FRONT TIRE WAS CUT COMPLETELY OFF OF THE WHEEL ON THE INSIDE MAKING STEERING VERY DIFFICULT.
"TAKATA RECALL" CASE # 11315399. PASSENGER BRAKE LIGHT IS INOPERATIVE. HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT DETERMINED THAT BOTH TAIL LAMP HOUSING IS WARPED AND IN NEED OF REPLACEMENT. HYUNDAI CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE FURTHER EXPLAINED TO ME THAT THE CAUSE OF THIS CONDITION OCCURRING IS THAT THE HOUSING SOCKET HEATS UP AND IS THE CAUSE OF THE WARPING. I BROUGHT THIS TO THE DEALERSHIP ATTENTION ABOUT A POSSIBLE ELECTRICAL DEFECT ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH HYUNDAI USA GOOD WILL DEPARTMENT AND REQUESTED THAT THEY REPAIR THE VEHICLE, THEY DECLINED BASED ON THE WARRANTY EXPIRATION. THE TAIL LAMP HOUSING WARPING ON ANY VEHICLE IS NOT A NORMAL OCCURRENCE DURING THE LIFE OF A VEHICLE. FURTHER, HYUNDAI IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM. THEY HAVE BEEN REQUIRING CUSTOMERS TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS ON AFFECTED VEHICLES. THE CONSUMER SHOULD BE ABLE TO REPLACE THE LAMP BULB AND NOT THE LAMP HOUSING AS A GENERAL WEAR AND TEAR OPERATION. I PRESENTLY HAVE A VEHICLE THAT I CAN NOT DRIVE DUE THE EXORBITANT COST TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. I AM REQUESTING THAT YOUR DEPARTMENT INVESTIGATE THIS MATTER IN ORDER TO GENERATE A RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE FOR DEFECTIVE TAIL LAMP OR WIRING HOUSING PROBLEM.

I HAVE A 2013 HYUNDAI SONATA AND I'M CONSTANTLY HAVING TO CHANGE THE BACK/FRONT LIGHTS. THEY KEEP GOING OUT AND THE LIGHT BULBS ARE CHEAP. THE BACK TAIL LIGHT HAS MELTED THE SOCKET AND PLASTIC SO NOW I HAVE TO PURCHASE A WHOLE NEW ONE. ALSO EVERYTIME I TURN THE STEERING WHEEL THERE IS A REALLY BAD CLICKING SOUND AND THE ENGINE ALSO STALLS AND THE THING GOES ALL THE WAY BETWEEN 3 AND 4 AND THEN THE CAR FINALLY JERKS AND MOVES FORWARD.
WAS DRIVING ON THE EXPRESSWAY, GOING 55 MPH APPROACHING MY EXIT, WHEN MY 2013 SONATA GLS BEGAN TO SHAKE, MY EPS LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE CAR STOPPED ON ME COMPLETELY, THEN ALL MY INDICATOR LIGHTS POPPED ON AS THE CAR BEGAN TO JUST COAST WITH LIMITED STEERING ABILITY. LUCKILY I WAS ON MY EXIT AND COASTED IT DOWNHILL TO A RESIDENTIAL BLOCK. TRIED JUMPING IT THINKING IT WAS A BATTERY PROBLEM AND EVEN REPLACED THE BATTERY. VEHICLE STILL WOULDN'T TURN ON. CONTACTED HYUNDAI AFTER THIS BECAUSE MY VEHICLE ONLY HAD 65,000 MILES ON IT.

THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
I HAVE BEEN HAVING AN ONGOING ISSUE ON MY 2013 HYUNDAI SONATA LIMITED. IF YOU JUST LOOK AT 2011+ HYUNDAI SONATA'S ON THE ROAD WHILE DRIVING 90% OF THEM HAVE A TAIL LIGHT OUT! THE ISSUE IS THE TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY WHERE THE BULB CLIPS IN IS MELTED SO THE BULB WILL NOT STAY IN PLACE. THE BULB IS CONSTANTLY MOVING AROUND WHILE DRIVING SO IT COMES LOSE OR BLOWS OVER AND OVER. THE ONLY PROPER FIX FOR THIS IS TO CHANGE THE WHOLE TAIL LIGHT SO I BELIEVE HYUNDAI NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS AS IF YOUR TAIL LIGHTS ARE OUT YOU CAN EASILY MEET IN AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE CHANGED MY BULB AT LEAST 6 TIMES FOR FAR AND I HAVE ONLY HAD THE CAR FOR 6 MONTHS, ITS A 2013 HYUNDAI SONATA LIMITED 2.4 NON TURBO NA. I SEARCHED SEVERAL FORUMS ONLINE AND OTHERS HAVE REPORTED THIS ISSUE OR SPEND $300 TO FIX ONE OR $00 FOR BOTH. THIS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT THE TAIL LIGHT SHOULD NOT BE MELTING.
THE CRUISE CONTROL SET FUNCTION DOES NOT WORK. I CAN TURN ON THE CRUISE CONTROL, BUT I CAN NOT ENGAGE IT. THE SWITCH WAS REPLACED WHEN THIS PROBLEM DEVELOPED WHEN THE CAR WAS UNDER WARRANTY. HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM HAS RECURRED AND THE CAR IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY.
I NEED TO ADD MORE DESCRIPTION TO MY PREVIOUS COMPLAINT. I DID NOT DESCRIBE THE PROBLEM IN DETAIL WHEN DRIVING AROUND IN THE CITY, COMING TO A STOP, (SOMETIMES THE BRAKE DOESN'T ENGAGE) BUT MORE OFTEN, THE CONCERN IS WHEN TRYING TO TAKE OFF AFTER COMING TO AN INTERSECTION, THERE MAY BE NO ACCELERATION FOR SEVERAL SECONDS TRYING TO TAKE OFF. IT BASICALLY JUST ROLLS UNTIL SOMETHING ENGAGES, THEN THE ACCELERATION BEGINS SLOWLY. ONCE THIS PROBLEM STARTS OCCURRING, IT IS HAPPENS CONSTANTLY, BUT IT DOES NOT OCCUR EVERY TIME I GET IN AND DRIVE AROUND. THIS BEGAN LAST SPRING (2017), I HAD IT WORKED ON AND THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. I TOLD THE MECHANIC TO DRIVE AROUND (HYUNDAI SERVICE) AND THEY DIDN'T UNTIL THEY WANTED ME TO PICK IT UP. WE DROVE AND IT HAPPENED. SO, THEY 'FIXED' SOMETHING. IT WAS BETTER TEMPORARILY. NOT COMPLETELY FIXED, BUT NOT AS SCARY OF A SAFETY ISSUE. THEN IN THE COOLER WEATHER, IT DIDN'T OCCUR. NOW, THE PAST COUPLE OF WEEKS IT HAS BEGUN AGAIN, WORSE THAN BEFORE. I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE UNTIL IT IS FIXED, IT IS DANGEROUS!
WAS DRIVING CAR ON INTERSTATE, ALL DASH LIGHTS CAME ON AND CAR WAS DISABLED. PULLED OVER, TURNED OFF ENGINE AND CALLED FOR A TOW. CAR WAS TAKEN TO INDEPENDANT MECHANIC, WHOM DIAGNOSED CAR WITH A SERIOUS INTERNAL ENGINE ISSUE, WAS TOLD TO TAKE THE CAR TO THE SHOP WHERE IT WAS BOUGHT AND ASK ABOUT A WARRANTY. UPON GETTING TO THE SHOP, THEY SAID IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE YEAR THE CAR IS. THAT IT SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY, BUT WE HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL JUNE 6TH, FOR THEM TO LOOK AT VEHICLE. MY CAR IS 5 YEARS OLD, 56,6XX MILES AND HAS A MAJOR ENGINE ISSUE.
