Burning over a quart of oil every 500 miles.
The GDI 2.0L and 2.4L engines consume outrageous amounts of oil. Oil has to be added to the vehicle five times between Full Synthetic oil changes totaling almost $100 for just oil to refill the engine. For those who don’t check their oil level often, the dipstick will appear empty. That can lead to engine seizing, an overall decrease in power, and the breaking down of parts due to metal-on-metal impact. The engine also goes through several spark plugs at once. The amount of carbon deposit on the spark plugs is outrageous as well. The electrodes were completely burnt as if they had never been replaced since manufacturing.
my check engine light has came up already three times within each month the codes that appear is P0014 / P1326 i have changed the oil many times and it still appears now my it to the point my car can't be driven it not let me drive it only at a certain limit
Vehicle Safety Complaint - 2017 Hyundai Sonata Sport Engine Failure Dear NHTSA, I am writing to report a safety concern regarding my 2017 Hyundai Sonata Sport, which I believe poses a risk to my safety and the safety of other road users. I have experienced the following issues with my vehicle: First Issue: Excessive oil consumption Must add a quart a week with minimal driving. Engine consumes an abundance of oil. Serious risk of internal engine damage & risk of the engine failure. Noticable oil covering spark plugs. I have to clean oil off the spark plugs weekly. Second Issue: Flashing check engine light Loss of power, engine stalling, misfiring, diminished ability to acclerate from a stop, and smelling gas. This is a traffic hazard, risk of life to occupants of vehicle, possible engine fire risk, and complete engine failure. Upon research, this is a MASS issue with owners of 2017 Hyundai Sonata's with a Theta II 2.4-liter engine. The Theta II 2.4-liter engine for Hyundai Sonata Hybrids has been recalled. However, Hyundai is very aware of the engine issue with non-hybrid 2017 Hyundai Sonata's. We have taken this to a AAA shop and the code issued was "catastrophic engine failure." I then took it too a Hyundai dealership and they said it was fine. I opened a case with Hyundai US and after months of back and forth, I get the same response, take it to the dealer. Frankly, I am getting nowhere with Hyundai. I feel they have recalled so many vehicles and their dealerships are so overwhelmed they are avoiding acknowledgement of this issue for non-hybrid models as long as possible putting the safety of Americans at risk. There a millions of consumers who have put their faith in the safety of Hyundai's engine for my make and model with this Theta II 2.4-Liter engine. Hyundai is 100% aware of these issues and hasn't issued a recall. Dealerships are flooded with vehicles and wait lists are long. American families need safe and reliable transportation.
Hybrid system failed, lost power while driving on freeway going 65 m/h during rush hours, RPM gage went down to 0, most instrument light weee lit on dashboard. Speed went all the way down to 40 m/h pressing the gas all the way down. Hybrid system warning light was flashing. Could have been hit by other vehicles on freeway I had to put my hazard flashing signal and wait for the right moment to pull my car off the road and to emergency lane to stop. The first time car was towed to dealer. And dealer was able to confirm the Problem. The spent 2 weeks at dealer until the claimed they had to contact the manufacture and ended up replacing a wire harness they thought water got into it, paid over $600 for this fix. Few months later same problem they ended replacing some sensors due to a recall. A week later happened again all 3 time on the freeway. The check engine light was on few months prior to these issue and took to dealer multiple times since was still under warranty. But the problem kept coming back. They replace fuel injector then coil pack, the 3 time I was told the engine needs to be flushed and that not covered under warranty. Not long after that the major issues with the hybrid system 3 times

Engine intermittingly stalls while driving. Unsafe/dangerous!
The contact owns a 2017 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated while driving 60-65 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact veered to the side of the road. The vehicle failed to restart. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 180,000.
The steering wheel is not responsive when pulling out of parking I.e when turning to pull out of parking. When I attempt to turn left or right the steering wheel pops and makes a noise it distracts daily driving as it makes you think you hit something or were involved in a crash. 09/01/2022 On 09/07/2022 I brought my car in to maxon hyndai in New Jersey and Informed them of the problem I have been having with the steering on my car. I checked my wheels , brakes and suspension and that is not the issue at a mechanic shop 09/01/22 Hyndai moter America whom I bought the car from is always made aware of my issue as I reported my incident to them as well. The dealership won’t pick up my calls and the Hyundai customer service is not helpful. Hyundai Motor America sent me a correspondence that the car is under warranty for up to 150,000 miles but are trying to give me the run around. I called on 09/07/2022 and spoke with Tiffany the case manager at Hyundai Motor America the corporation and it took her 3 weeks to finally get back to me and to let me know that customer service from Hyundai had forwarded me to the wrong department as her department doesn’t resolve warranty issues. When I told her this was a dishonest act and that Hyundai is lying about MDPS extended warranty her reply was she’s only doing what the company told her. Below attached is the official correspondence from Hyundai motor America The invoice concern when I brought it in for service at Maxon Hyundai in New Jersey And last is a picture of my car parked at the dealership on 09/07/2022 after being inspected my Maxon Hyundai telling me there is no defect on the steering on my car while my steering wheel is turned at 180 degree angle and the wheels are still straight I also have a video of the incident if need be
2017 Hyundai Sonata’s electric power steering is having an undiagnosable issue. Mechanics cannot figure it out only speculate since Hyundai has no remedies for this issue. The axle has been replaced and suspension inspected and the issue persists. Crunch when turning left usually a hard left at or more than 180 degrees. Vehicle has resistance if not kickback or tension when turning left, but turning right has little to no resistance at all. You could be parked, driving, or backing up and the vehicle makes hard crunch noises to the left. Also, when the sounds and issue becomes frequent (its intermittent) the steering wheel will kick to the right and lock up. There is a traction control light that comes on and a red steering wheel light with an exclamation point that pops on. If you turn off car and turn back on the issue and lights go away. This is extremely dangerous. It has happened to myself and my husband 3 separate occasions, different times of day, different temperatures and roughly a speed under 20 mph. The jolt and locking up of steering wheel is someone’s death waiting to happen. Extremely unsafe to drive.
The Abs brakes and traction control go in and out and affects the brakes while driving, I know there been reports of fire but for some reason my car is not in the recall, same thing with the air bags lights come on showing faulty air bags and on scanner tools but not recalled even though Hyundai knows about these issues. Now for engine I went to have my engine looked at 2 times for oil consumption and all they did was a combustion chamber cleaning twice which both failed in less the 8100 miles so when I took it back for another oil consumption test for the 3rd time today, the engine light came on, it started knocking, lost power and riding rough. Well, they did an engine scanner test and suspect faulty rings allowing oil into the combustion chamber and fouling my new sparks plugs that was installed less then 10000 miles ago, now they tell me I need a new engine and refuse to replace it for free even though they said they fixed the problem before with the engine cleaning now the same part is the problem and now, I am without a car to drive! They tell me I can lose power while driving which could lead to a car accident.
Without warning my car started consuming oil while still under manufacturer warranty. Hyundai had me do 2 oil consumption tests and they did there so called engine cleaning which they said should fix the problem on 2 different occasions and not even 3 months apart, well the engine was still consuming oil and now the oil is messing up my spark plugs and Hyundai refused to fix it. There is enough evidence out there that shows Hyundai knows their piston rings in the engines were no good for years and still keeps selling these engines without warning the customer. Hyundai refused to honor their warranty on the engine cleaning solution that the dealership is required to use by Hyundai itself. My car's engine went in less than 7 months after they first started doing the oil consumption test on my car and now refuse to fix or replace the engine. When my car's engine went luckily I was on a side street when it went, because if I was on the highway who knows what could have happened. Hyundai omitted in lawsuits outside the country for knowing these were bad piston rings. Which also led to fires in these cars engines. There is a Facebook page with thousands of people having the same issue and Hyundai not even trying to fix the problem, and there our to many to count around the world with the same engines and cars having the same issue so it not just a small isolated event.
Engine is consuming oil at a very fast rate. just changed oil a few weeks ago and when checked oil recently, nothing on dip stick. Had to add over 3 quarts of oil. So far, need to keep adding over a quart a week. As to safety, feels like engine wants to keep stalling when in light traffic. Car has been checked for oil leaks, none found. No MFG, police, insurance has inspected. When oil was so low, not even showing any on dip stick, no engine or oil light ever comes on.
The engine rod bearing gave out and cause the car to stop abrubtly. This caused a pile up car accident directly behind me. My car was not hit thankfully but the engine is damaged and Hyundai said they will not replace it even though there is a recall on the engine.
at 75000 miles car started to be out of oil 2000 miles after the oil change. At 83000 miles motor went. Check engine lite went on and day later started blinking and car died on the highway. Just went dead. Mechanic tells me motor is shot please help
At first it was knocking softly and progressively getting louder than the engine blew on my way picking my son up
The contact owns a 2017 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that when he moved the vehicle in his driveway, there was a puddle of oil seen underneath where the vehicle was parked. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred on various occasions and that he had to add oil twice per week as the oil warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the failure could not be duplicated, and the contact was advised to take the vehicle to a local dealer after being made aware of an unknown engine recall. The contact then made a local dealer aware of the failure and the unknown engine recall; however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 78,000.
I own a 2017 Hyundai sonata base, I got the car at around 168k miles and it’s now sitting at around 180k the car burns oil like crazy, I had taken it to the Hyundai dealership in Gaithersburg, MD and they declined the oil consumption test under warranty since the extended warranty is only until 150k, then they tell me if my engine seized and was towed to a local dealer only then they would likely replace it due to its failure. That the engine would only be covered if it seized. This makes me nervous due to it could seize at any time or place, when I start my car I can hear a bad bearing and then it goes away after oil has been started to be moved around the engine more, a few seconds after starting the car. At last gave another call and same answer, if it siezed they believe Hyundai would replace it. Even when the oil is low no oil light appears, so I have to check it almost every time I go to drive as a full time student and full time employee this issue is really annoying. I just hope it if siezes it’s covered and I can get a rental to make it to work and university.
I have a 2017 Hyundai Sonata white paint began peeling off. even washing the car or driving at high speed resulted in peeling. paint began peeling off of the roof, hood and trunk of the car and sides as well.
Paint is peeling badly all over car
My 2017 Hyundai Sonata hybrid is having power steering problems, it has literally locked on me while driving it is really unsafe for me and my husband to be driving with my new born child. I have taken the car to Hyundai dealer to get it “fix” they are never able to do anything! Because the “problem hasn’t presented itself” so they can’t fix it. I got a letter from the mail stating a EXTENDED WARRANTY was given to me because my car may exhibit reduced power steering assist and/or motor driven power steering (MDPS) I showed this extended warranty to the dealer and they still can’t do ANYTHING To my car…I’ve seen so many videos on this same problem I’m having others are having it to and nothing is being done by Hyundai dealer to fix it. It seems like we need to crash or hurt ourselves for someone to finally realize and do something…I’m surprised there is no RECALL on this no power steering problem. Hope to get it resolved soon…thank you!!
Airbag warning light activated on vehicle on or around August 15th of this year. Vehicle was in normal operating condition, and had not been involved in any accident. Vehicle was taken to Hyundai dealer for service. Dealer diagnosed issue as failed driver's side airbag. Airbag replacement was required at owner expense, not covered under manufacturer warranty (as confirmed with the manufacturer). I am concerned as consumer that the standard safety equipment of the vehicle failed under normal operating conditions, requiring expensive repair in order for consumer to restore safety of the driver. Vehicle has been repaired at dealership and can be made available for inspection if desired.
On or about August 13 2022, I notice the oil engine light come for a second, then it went off. After parking vehicle at my home and letting the engine cool off a bit and oil to settle, I checked dipstick only to find out that is was showing DRY no oils whatsoever, I then bought 1 qt of oil and added it to engine still dip stick showed dry and not a drop of oil on it. With still 3,000 miles to go before my next oil change, I decided to take it to PepBoys for a new oil change. After one week dip stick was showing oil on the low side and this time the metal on the stick showed whiteish, like it had been over heated. after this decided to take it to dealership GOSH HYUNDAI In Hemet 92545. I was told it would take 2 days to do some checks and get it ready for an oil consumption test. That is drive vehicle 1000 miles then take it in for another inspection (hopefully 1 day) then getting it back, drive another 1000 miles, then take back for another inspection. Being this my only Vehicle at this time, I am not sure why it takes so long to figure this out. OH did I mention Hyundai headquarters (I'm guessing) has to approve the oil consumption test, otherwise I am out a vehicle and have to pay for repairs. Not too mention the brake fluid reservoir is doing the exact same thing, fluid is being completely replaced every month to month and a half, by replace I mean adding a full reservoir worth of fluid because it seems to be evaporating. I am on the the third time adding fluid to this vehicle after GOSH Hyundai worked on my brakes (10000 miles a go). But this one I will have to pay 165 dollars for them to check it out. Nothing was said about me paying for engine oil issue check, plus they had me sign a affidavit to make sure I was the only owner on vehicle witch I am...So now the waiting game begins and to wait until someone makes a decision about fixing this issues?!!
So this morning I was on my way to work and boom once again my engine light came on blinking so my car started stalling and slowing down and went to shaking while I was on the highway so I pulled over because this not the first time experience this 2 days prior battery light red oil light and engine light came on when I brake at a red light and car wouldn't move but anyway cut the car off luckily it wasn't busy on this Sunday morning. I turned the car back on engine light was still blinking so now I have to make a hard decision because my car has been tow so much for engine issues that my insurance company sunt me a letter because they was concern about me needing a tow so much so they had to reach out so I called someone to have thm follow me since I didn't make it that far from home, so with my cautious lights blinking doing 20mph on the highway light still blinking car stalling and kept slowing down thn jerk forward like it gain life again but still while u driving the gas pedal feel forced like u putting pressure on the engine forcing it to put out power, finally getting off the highway good thing round corner from home stop at the red light when light turn green I press the pedal car shook a little and went to stalling but was moving slow turned the corner house right there soon as pulling in driveway car stalled and completely slowed down and put it n park went to vibrating but yes engine light still on blinking, was only 10 min away from home but that issue is dangerous and did happen to me before 6 months ago car was towed to Hyundai dealership kept my car nearly 3 weeks I paid and got my invoice still for proof that need to be a recall because that should not be happening again they did tell me my engine may need to be replace if it happens again which is sad because this car is only 5 years old I had the most issues with this car and both there brake lights go out every 3 months at the same time ISSUE NEED TO BE RESOLVED ASAP......
The check engine light came on and wouldn't accelerate normally. The speed was delayed and cutting back and wouldn't pass 40 mph. Upon taking it to a local shop it had to be taken to the buying location by road side assistance. After the service department checked into the problem it now needs a new engine. They stated there were metal shavings in the motor. This was transferred by a known problem in the 2.4 L motor that hyundai has put in their vehicles with problematic bearings. This happened within 2 months of buying this vehicle. We Can't drive it at all now so it's still at the shop.
Steering has locked up or become extremely difficult to manipulate on 4 occasions. Carried it to the dealership after first time and they said since the code was still not up there was nothing they could do. Has failed 3 more times with latest issue almost causing a wreck with my wife. This is NOT normal wear and tear!
My car was consuming a lot of oil. Hyundai dealership of Spartanburg,SC performed several oil consumption tests. Later I was advised to do an engine cleaning which was about $300. That didn’t resolve the issue. I was then told a piston was broken and couldn’t be fixed to just “wait till the engine blows out” and the motor company will pay for engine replacement. I use this vehicle to transport my four young daughters and fear when and where my engine will go out on us!
As I was turning my car into a parking spot the steering locked up on me. I tried to turn the wheel left and right and I simply couldn't do it at all. I turned the vehicle off and turned it back on after a few seconds and it seemed to fix itself. It's been 1 day since this incident happened and I'm afraid it could happen again. Luckily I wasn't on a highway or I could've been seriously injured!
The oil light would blink on, then go back offstarting abiut 7/15/22. We checked the oil, but it was fine. This happened for about 2wks, w/ the light never staying on or staying on & flashing. However, the oil consumption started increasing, needing more oil each time, but no indication of a leak. Then the check engine light started flashing & car went into limp mode w/engine knocking. This happened suddenly in traffic, which could have caused a wreck d/t sudden loss of power & inability to reach speed of surrounding vehicles. At this time, the oil light was not present, but 3qt of oil needed to be added in order to limp the car home. This was 7/39/22. Computer check gave code 1326. Engine failure seems immenent. Vehicle is available for inspection request. The issue has not been confirmed by dealer, but we have seen similar complaints on YouTube.
My steering wheel is locked it’s hard to turn left or right. I go to school in a different city so I drive back and forth from school to home. While I was turning into the parking lot to park my steering wheel just locked while I was trying to park i almost hit someone’s car in the process. I had to turn the steering wheel with both hands tightly to one side for the steering wheel to move. I was so scared
The electronic power steering sporadically fails. This has happened 3 time in the last two months. The frequency of occurrences are now closer. When this happens the car is almost impossible to steer, it would be unsafe to attempt to operate the car on a public road. The majority of the time when this happens it's when the car is started (regardless if the vehicle is cold or warm). It did happen once while the car was moving at approximate 45 mph. Turning the car off and back on will stop the problem. A warning light on the dash appears when the problem happens. We unsuccessfully tried to recreate the problem so it can be diagnosed from the dealer. The dealer stated in conversation that is difficult if not impossible to diagnose a problem when it is not occurring.
I am submitting a vehicle safety complaint regarding a recurring HEV warning system indicator affecting my 2017 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid that was not properly diagnosed despite multiple service visits to Nalley Hyundai beginning around July or August 2022. During several service visits while the vehicle remained covered under an extended warranty, I reported the HEV warning indicator to the dealership. Each time the vehicle was returned to me, the warning light was no longer illuminated, giving the appearance that the issue had been resolved. I was not billed for these visits. However, I was informed that the dealership could not determine the cause of the warning indicator, and no permanent repair solution was completed. Because this issue involves the hybrid electric system, I am concerned this may represent a safety-related condition affecting vehicle reliability and drivability. The warning indicator has continued intermittently and has now progressed to the point that my vehicle is no longer dependable transportation. I respectfully request that this complaint be reviewed as a potential hybrid system warning indicator concern affecting the 2017 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid.
It's knock sensor issue code was showing since 85000 mileage, dealer just got rid of the code and said can drive safely. Then again at 101000 mileage knock sensor code and Hyundai dealer said software is updated can drive safely. Also it's engine oil burning faster that we keep on topup oil all time. Then at after 108000 mileage my car started overheating, & it's engine seized. Now Hyundai don't want to fix such problems. I don't know maybe it get fixed, then catches fire on highway can cause death.
2017 Hyundai Sonata Sport engine is consuming oil at 85,000 miles and has done so since early 2022. I have had the vehicle to the dealer on numerous occasions regarding this issue; oil light coming on and immediately needing 3 quarts or more to fill it back up. The latest encounter was 7/17/2022 when the check engine light came on and when oil was checked, it was on the "L" level yet again and this was less than 800 miles since the complete oil change where 5 quarts of oil was inserted. This engine is known for oil consumption and at 85,000 miles it should not be doing it at this rate. Another consumption test is being requested.
Steering Wheel locked while turning. I got a red light on the dashboard. I had to restart the engine again to unlock it. Continued driving for 5 minutes and it happened again.
I'm now having to check my oil on a car I still have a loan on once a week and having to add at least 3 qts everyother dealership wants 600 for a diagnostic run to see if there's a defect
My power steering stopped working while driving my car I can’t turn car left or right and no way to know how to fix it unless I spend 1000 at a dealership and it’s a dangerous situation
While driving my 2017 Sonata on a winding backroad my power steering suddenly locked up without warning, and I was unable to turn the vehicle left or right. Prior to this incident there were no warning or check engine lights lit indicating any type of issue with my car, and my power steering was operating normally. I hit, and jumped a curb striking a rock wall attempting to turn slightly left to keep myself in my lane, and on the road damaging the right passenger side rim and fender. After coming to a stop I noticed there were two warning lights that had activated. I immediately called my local Hyundai dealer (Imperial Hyundai of Milford Massachusetts) informing them of what had happened, and scheduled a service appointment to have this issue diagnosed. I was informed by the dealership that Hyundai is having issues with their electric assist steering motor, and computer module which controls the steering assist motor. Had this been my wife or son this would have definitely turned out differently, because I'm over 240lbs and could barely get the steering wheel to turn at all prior to hitting the curb. After shutting off the car, and then restarting it repeatedly for approx 30 minutes suddenly the service lights went out, and the vehicle started operating normally again. My appointment at the Hyundai dealer is on July 13, 2022. I was told Hyundai has extended the warranty on parts associated with the steering system, but they wouldn't tell me which parts are covered or not covered. That is the least of my concerns, because like I said had I not been the driver, or if this had happened at highway speed this could have been tragic. It's a serious safety issue
The power steering on my 2017 Sonata went out all the sudden while I was making a turn in a parking lot on 7/03/2022. The red power steering warning light and the yellow traction control warning light came on and the steering wheel locked up, please see attached picture. I almost hit a parked car because I was not able I complete my turn. This is the 2nd time happened to this 2017 Sonata in 5 weeks and it was as scary as the 1st time (05/28/2022) because there was no warning before malfunction happened. The power steering would restore and warning lights would turn off after the engine restarted. I contacted my local Hyundai service department in Fremont, CA, they told me they can’t inspect my Sonata until early December because they don’t have any available appointment for diagnostic until December. I told the service advisor that this is a series safety issue, but no further assistance was provided. Please investigate this safety issue because clearly there is something wrong with the electric power steering system and it will put other drivers and pedestrians in danger.
The contact owns a 2017 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lurched forward with the oil warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the vehicle was consuming an excessive amount of oil, causing engine damage. The dealer informed the contact that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 42,000.
THIS LOCKED UP THE SECOND TIME IN ONE DAY WHILE WE WAS COMING HOME AND IT LOCKED UP WHEN WE MADE A TURN INTO OUR DRIVEWAY I HAD TO PARK AND TURN THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON AGAIN THIS IS NOT SAFE
STEERING WHELL LOCKED ON ME AND THE FAMILY WHILE WE WERE ON OUR WAY TO THE STORE HAD TO TURN IT OFF AND TURN BACK ON
"Shark fin" antenna cover blew off the car while I was traveling down the freeway. If it had hit another car or caused someone to swerve to miss it, it could have caused damage to the other car. Others have had this problem. You can see that by googling the problem. No warning. Hyundai wants $1000 to repair it--$350 for the part and $600 for labor.
Electronic Power Steering failed in the 2017 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid SE. As I was turning left the dashboard showed the EPS warning light, and EPS completely failed. Power steering locked, and I was unable to steer the car. I immediately put my hazard lights on to avoid any accident. I turned the vehicle off, waited a few seconds, and turned it back on. Steering was still extremely tight; I forced the steering wheel to turn slowly and gradually moved the car out of traffic. This was an extremely scary experience. My 3-year-old daughter was in the back in her car seat, and I consider ourselves to be very lucky on this date.
The contact owns a 2017 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated while driving approximately 70 MPH, the vehicle stopped accelerating as needed. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact activated the hazard lights and coasted the vehicle to the residence. The contact then was followed by a friend to the dealer. The vehicle was diagnosed with a knock sensor and cylinder failure. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. Additionally, while attempting to shift the vehicle into reverse, the vehicle failed to respond. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 85,700.
The contact owns a 2017 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the exterior brake lights failed to illuminate while the brake pedal was depressed. The failure almost caused a collision. The dealer was made aware of the failure; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 143,000.
The power steering stopped working. I am unsure if this is powertrain, electrical or something else. My wife was driving the vehicle without an issue and then the steering became very difficult to the point of not being able to control the car.
The contact owns a 2017 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle was shaking violently. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed with piston ring failure in one of the cylinders. The dealer informed the contact that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 118,600.
Pulled into my driveway and the steering wheel locked up
was coming home and the car just locked up on me making a turn
