While I was stopped for a car ahead turning left I was hit from behind which pushed me into the car in front of me. No airbags deployed . Truck that hit me was traveling at 50 mph. Never applied brakes.
Since I received my car, within a few couple of months I have noticed that the car would jump forward when changing the RPMs/gears. When I had brought it in for an oil change, I had mentioned it to the service tech and they told me they would run a diagnostic to see if anything would pop up but the likelihood hood it wouldn't show anything. The second time I mentioned it again while I was driving, the car would accelerate faster than normal as though it was on Sports Mode even though it wasn't, and then the car/engine would jump or make the car lunge forward as it was slowing down. They said they would look into it again but nothing was found. a few months later I was driving home on the freeway when my car jumped again, the engine turned off and I was in the middle of the freeway not being able to accelerate but take the speed I was going to move over to the emergency side in order not to get hit by another car. I got it towed into the dealership, they said they would get back to me after a few days and once they found out what happened, they had my car for about 2 weeks. They also wanted me to pay for a fuel system flush and returned the car to me on empty gas which was full when I brought it in. The back passenger window wasn't working either and I had brought that up to their attention saying if I were to bring it back in I would need to pay for a diagnostic to get it fixed. I was upset and brought it into another dealership to get fixed and mentioned again about the car jumping and afraid that I would be left on the side of the road or the engine would turn off again. They couldn't do anything without an engine light to be turned on. I'm afraid of driving my car but why am I paying for something that the dealership cannot fix or know that whatever they did wasn't fixing the problem? I have brought in my car time and time again to get seen or fixed before the major issue happened and now electrical parts of the car are faulty with things turning off randomly.
Horn failed to work at a critical moment while operating motor vehicle.
The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated while entering the highway and depressing the accelerator pedal to the floor, the vehicle failed to accelerate over 50 MPH. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the steering wheel and vehicle was shaking abnormally. The contact continued driving to her destination. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer the following day, where it was diagnosed with needing fuel injector #4 to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and continued to experience the failure. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer the following day, where it was diagnosed with needing the remaining fuel injectors to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 42,000.
When I’m at a dead stop, and start to drive off, there is a jerking at around 13 miles per hour. I believe it is when it is shifting from first into second gear. It happens often, but not all the time. This happened when I first bought my car, and I was told that the car has to get to know me. I thought this was true, because it seemed to have stopped at some point for a while. Now it is doing it again, but more dramatically. The jerking is very obvious. Also there have been about 5 times when the car revs by itself when I am in the 40’s. I am not pressing heaving on the gas, I am just driving, and it sounds like it slipped out of gear for a second and the car is revving, and then it just goes back to normal.
Sudden loss of power and speed on freeway traveling at 75 mph almost caused a rear end collision by tailgating semi. Pulled over onto shoulder with engine shaking and bucking and luckily limped off nearby exit. Engine control system error popped up. Engine would barely start and stall quickly and eventually would not restart at all. This is the cars second sudden power loss and engine problem at speed since. Not acceptable for a brand new car.
The affected part is the engine and/or power train, the engine light constantly stays on. The acceleration decreases and unable to drive over 40 mph. These parts were inspected by two different car mechanics at Hyundai Car dealerships, Alexandria, VA (April May 2023) and Waldorf, MD, (June -July 2023) which they say was the gas cap. After getting a diagnostic the reading was P0 301. On August 22,2023 at 9:30am took the car to mechanical service at Hyundai In Waldorf, MD they concluded it was the gas cap, again, today the engine is on again.
While driving on the freeway, suddenly lost power while driving 60 mph and was unable to accelerate. Almost avoided an accident, while trying to merge to the shoulder of the road, while the car just puttering. While on the shoulder, the check engine light came on. Unable to drive and had to get towed.
This is the 2-3 time that the sound of my radio and safety features does not work. There is no sound at all! If the sounds of the safety features are Not working, I feel extremely unsafe driving this car!!!!
Driving on highway long distance on sunny days the radar becomes blocked disabling critical forward safety functions and cruise control. Numerous times this has caused a near collision due to the automobile malfunctioning. Many times my cruise control has just stopped working and my vehicle has rapidly decreasing speed, causing people behind me to have to slam on their brakes. My vehicle has also automatically braked on the highway when there was no one in front of me. these are just two incidences that have nearly resulted in collisions on the highway. This has been occurring since I purchased the vehicle in September 2022. Unfortunately, dealership has not been able to duplicate what has occurred.
The front windshield starting cracking from the bottom left corner ( driver's side) upto the middle of the windshield and continuing to the right going upward. There is no visible signs of and rock damage. Also the wipers blades (when turned on wiping) don't cover the windshield completely. It leaves open s o aces when in the wiping mode. This is a brand new car we bought. This is unacceptable.
The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the “Forward Collision Avoidance” feature limited and Radar Blocked messages were displayed. On two separate occasions, the vehicle independently decelerated while depressing the accelerator pedal to override the defect. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer however, the mechanic could not duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.
No audio from all speakers. This issue is recurring and requires the vehicle to be brought to the service department for repairs. There is a Hyundai technical service bulletin issued #22-be-008h. I have experienced two incidents since purchasing the vehicle. I only have 1931 miles on the vehicle. Each incident I have waited over 2 weeks to have the vehicle looked at and diagnosed. I am now waiting on a part (external amplifier) that is on back order. Without sound none of the safety warning features that are relayed through the speakers are available to me while driving.
twice when my car shifted from second to third gear i lost throttle response and the engine went to idle speed. when i shut the vehicle off and restarted it worked
I was pulling out of a parking lot when my auto-braking activated. There was absolutely nothing anywhere around my car. I was entering a 2 lane road with zero traffic on it at that moment. When I pressed the gas pedal the brakes stayed locked. I quickly pressed the brake pedal at which time it released the brakes. I was then able to accelerate freely.
I was driving on the highway with my ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) and Lane Keeping Assistance on. Suddenly, I heard a loud noise from the engine. My vehicle was slowing down and was not able to accelerate. As I was pulling my vehicle on the side of the road, I saw oil warning light and check engine light on at the dashboard.
The following is an account of what happened when the SUV's brakes failed, which caused serious damage to the 2022 Hyundai Tucson (the "SUV") and also damaged two other vehicles. On February 15 in the afternoon, The SUV was traveling approximately 20-30 mph and was rolling up to a red light. There were about 6 car lengths between the SUV and the next vehicle as driver started pressing the brakes. Driver noticed the SUV wasn't slowing down so Driver started pumping the brakes and still nothing. Driver even looked down to make sure he/she was pressing the right pedal and he/she was. The SUV was getting closer and closer to the vehicle in front. Driver kept trying the brakes, pumping, flooring, everything. The SUV would not slow or stop. Driver tried to avoid the car ahead and did all driver could think of to slow and not hit the car ahead but the SUV would not slow down. The collision warning came on as the SUV struck the right of car in front of it. The emergency braking did not come on. Further, the SUV still did not stop until the tire hit the concrete barrier in the road. The airbag did not deploy. In total three vehicles were damaged as the SUV hit one which pushed it into another at the light. Hyundai corporate consumer assistance was contacted and a case opened. The case manager did the initial reach out after the complaint but has failed to return any phone messages or emails about the case for close to a month. They were told where the vehicle was and consent signed so they could inspect and it remains available for them to do so. The dealership was contacted but the person spoken to said its a corporate issue. The SUV is at a body shop and will be sent to Hyundai for mechanical issues and we are hoping they will look at least then for cause. There were no issues before the accident. No previous brake issue. The SUV is badly damaged. It is available to inspect upon request. The accident could have caused driver or others serious harm.
Infotainment center shut down or went black & would not come back. This controls radio, satellite radio, Apple car play, Bluetooth connected features, hands free mobile phone connection, and backup camera. Dealership after nearly a month of repairs found shorts in radio and amp and replaced both per warranty.
On Tues Feb 7, 2023, I was traveling at approx 6:50 pm on a suburban street at the posted 35 mph limit. My car started to lose speed, slowing to 27, then about 22-24 mph. I felt as though the engine was misfiring for an unknown reason. Since I was approaching an intersection and needed to make a left-hand turn, I started to depress the brake pedal. With no oncoming traffic, I slowed not quite to a stop, made the turn, but then had extreme difficulty getting the car to accelerate, again with the engine sputtering, chugging like a misfire, and shaking. My vehicle did not seem to go beyond 15 mph, and slowed again as I turned into my destination, about 2-3 blocks from the intersection. I parked and locked the car and was in a store for approximately 10 minutes. When returning to my vehicle, it would not start-the brake pedal could not be depressed at all, it appeared extremely hard. After 1-2 minutes of gently tapping the brake pedal, it loosened and I started the car. I put the car in reverse and it stopped in the middle of the parking lot with cars almost hitting me. I saw Engine Warning lights, Battery Warning lights, and a quick message across the screen but was unable to capture the meaning. After several more attempts, the engine started but was shaking violently, but I could not go beyond 3 mph. The shaking was so strong, items on the passenger seat shifted on the floor. I chose to remain in the parking lot and call Hyundai Bluelink. Since it was dark, I remained in the vehicle with the engine running, but excessive smoke billowed from the rear of the car. It was towed to Gerald Hyundai in North Aurora. After 3 days the dealer could not find any issue, however, I refused to take the car back, as I could recall it misfiring in previous weeks but unfortunately dismissed it. I requested a Technical Case File be opened at the Dealer. I still do not have my car after 1 week. This is a very serious issue and I am aware other owners have experienced it as well.
The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated while driving approximately 70 MPH down a mountain, the brake pedal was depressed, and the vehicle started vibrating abnormally. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who diagnosed that the front brake rotors hot spots. The rotors were turned. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 76,000.
I was driving and as I tried to turn a corner the steering wheel locked and became extremely difficult to steer. A few warning symbols came up on the dashboard. All of the lights for the advance driver assistance systems came on. I could not steer the car.
The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated while making a right turn, the steering wheel became firm. The contact stated that an unknown warning light was illuminated. The contact pulled over and had the vehicle towed to the dealer to be diagnosed. The dealer stated that the multi-fuse and the steering wheel wiring needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was 11,064.
My car has 7000 miles on it. Three times now when trying to accelerate the RPM went up to 3000 RPM and the engine acted as if it was hitting a Rev limiter. The car slowed down to approximately 10 mph. One was pulling out of my driveway interning a intersection and the others was when I was merging onto a major highway. All three times I was barely able to make it to the side of the road. I shut the car off and restarted it and everything was OK. The incidents happened a couple weeks apart.
2022 Hyundai Tuscon abruptly locks steering wheel while driving to the point you cannot turn the steering wheel. Many different types of warnings appear on the dash from blind spot warning to front end collision. luckily, we were going at a moderate speed, I was driving and forced the wheel to turn enough to get off the road. If this happens to a woman while driving, they will most likely not be able to turn the wheel at all with zero control of the vehicle. Extremely dangerous life-threatening situation, and dealer has been notified. The vehicle has to be towed as it's a major safety risk. This has happened 3 times and the dealer has record of the fault codes but do not know what the problem is at this time. vehicle only has 16,000 miles on it. when this happens, I can turn off the vehicle and let it power down a minute or two and re-start it and all dash lights are gone and the vehicle is fine again. most certainly a faulty very dangerous electrical system problem in my opinion.
I have had 3 fuel injectors go out on my 2022 Hyundai Tucson. When this happened it was completely random and my car would stall and I would be stuck on the side of the road. I have had to miss work due to this happening. They told me that they are only able to replace the broken one each time instead of replace the all 4 while covered under warranty. They also told me that fuel injectors breaking is a common problem in 2022 and newer Tucson's as they are higher pressure systems than previous models. Im worried that this is going to keep happening and I'm going to keep breaking down due to fuel injectors breaking and end up stranded somewhere.
I was driving down the road with no other vehicles around me when there was a loud popping sound. it was so loud it made my ears ring and i jerked the steering wheel a little to the left but i luckly did not leave my lane. it just really scared me. i slowed my car down and pulled over and inspected my car and i noticed a little crack in my windshield which has a little longer. i noticed about a year ago where this same windshield had ice on the inside which i had to scrape and wipe off before i could drive it. i love my car but could there be a defect on this windshield.
First occurrence was on 6JAN23 when the vehicle was being driven and it suddenly and quickly reduced speed to under 30mph. Vehicle then continued to go up in RPMS to nearly 4,000 but the car felt like the transmission was not engaged and driving in neutral then would engage and disengage, causing fluctuations in speed, but never above 30-35 mph. This continued to happen until we could pull over safely and turn off the vehicle and restart. No engine light or warnings illuminated. Vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic and nothing was found. Second occurrence was 01ARP23, with exactly the same results. In doing some research I have found several other complaints with this issue. This is a serious accident waiting to happen.
The car has been erratic in its performance since purchase. The car has a continuous issue with the suspension, electronic system, and brakes. I have reached out to Hyundai manufacturer on numerous occasion regarding the car and no one is addressing my concerns. The car drives so erratic and unpredictable that I am fearful that someone will be injured or worst. Attached is a photo of the entire system going offline, which occurs all the time, and because the whole care is computerized this poses a safety risk for me and others on the road. When the car goes offline, I no longer have control of the vehicle and all mechanical systems are down. Please help me to get this issue resolved before someone gets hurt. This is the second submission in regard to this car. 5nmjfcae4nh015882
I have a lot of questions. I bought the best trim car for safety, but as a result, nothing worked. The damage to my family caused by this was a lot of damage mentally and physically, and it took a lot of time for these results to come out. That ended my view of Hyundai/Kia as a Korean American living in the U.S. I will never repurchase a Korean car. I suspect a sudden acceleration. I decided to report to NHTSA/BBB/Hyundai Motor America/FTC.
12/02/2022 while parking the vehicle in a parking spot in a parking garage, vehicle suddenly lurched forward causing the vehicle to hit the parking garage cement wall. This caused him to hit his head very hard on the steering wheel. The air bag deployed after he hit his head. The Air Bag did not protect him. He did not hit the accelerator pedal, and the vehicle accelerated by itself, which caused it to hit the parking garage wall. Shortly after this occurrence; he was at the Post Office, to drop mail in the mail box, and he very slightly removed his foot from the brake pedal to move the vehicle up a foot or two, and the vehicle lurched ahead approximately four to six feet. Again, he did not hit the accelerator pedal. Luckily, there was no other car in front of him or the vehicle might have hit it. Prior to the self acceleration of the vehicle in the parking garage and at the Post Office, this issue occurred while he was driving on the highway. He was going 55 mph and the vehicle suddenly went 75 mph. He was at a place where there is an exit, and he would not go that fast at this particular area. He explains he did not accelerate the car himself. He was so concerned about the vehicle self accelerating that he immediately got off of the highway to look under the hood to see if there was some explanation for this. We addressed this issues with the Hyundai dealer. On 01/06/2023, according to the report from them they drove the vehicle around their building and then looked for engine or transmission, and they said there were none.
1. I had an issue with my new Hyundai: rear driver side window just shattered with no reason. 2. It's happened what car was in parking spot and glass does not hurt anyone, but it could happen on a highway with worst consequences. 3. I believe it was kind of factory defect or so, but local dealership doesn't agree with me, they didn't even inspect it. 4. There were no signs that this going to happen, window was just fine all the time, and the day before incident, and the same day in the morning. Also I have video recording from outdoor surveillance cameras of the moment when it's happened if you would like to take a look.
The car completely stalled while in the middle of driving. I was on the interstate and was unable to go at appropriate speed, making it dangerous for other drivers. This is the second time that this has happened. The first time, the dealerships said that it was a faulty fuel injector, and replaced it. However, 2 months later, the same problem occurred again. Because I wasn't in an accident, the car was not inspected by anyone other than the dealer. I did not receive any warning lights or symptoms.
The automatic emergency braking has numerous false alerts, several times each day. The problem seems to be worse when a vehicle travelling the same direction in a different lane slows. The problem also appears when the Tucson's own shadow shifts directly in front of the car near sunrise and sunset when longer shadows are present. The car will brake hard though there is no risk of forward collision. This creates a danger as vehicles behind my own cannot anticipate this sudden hard braking, thus increasing the risk of a rear end collision.
Initial incident happened in June 2022; car under 5k miles. When slowing down at a light, car suddenly started to shake and engine would shut off. Dashboard warning indicated place in neutral and start car again. After restart, car would still turn off, unable to move or shift gears without shutting down. After keeping engine off for a few minutes, car was driveable again but a sound coming from engine when in D while at a light. Brought to dealership in Woodbridge, VA but was told they were unable to replicate incident. 2nd incident occurred in October 29, 2022. At a light, car was going to auto shut off while at light but then lurched, shook violently and engine shut off. The dashboard said place in neutral and turn engine on. Was able to move car after a few attempts and move to safe area. Let car rest for a few hours. When driving, and slowing down at a light, car would shake; i would place in Neutral and car will settle. Any time at a light, it has to be in neutral or else engine will die. Brought to dealership, added 15miles but unable to replicate. Nov 3rd, car began to lurch when at speed of 40 - 45. after stopping at a light, car would not accelarate, engine revving but little movement. had to pull over and turn engine off. Nov 5th, while on highway vehicle began to lurch at 55-60mph, engine was at 4rpm, engine struggling but speed not increasing. since on a downhill, car was moving but engine revving; speed not accelerating. Had to merge to shoulder; shut car off 2x and restart before car drove without incident. Videos of dashboard were taken during incidents in October and November.
The vehicle lost acceleration just as I was getting on the freeway ramp. It would move but slowly. I put emergency lights on, drive on the side and crept off the next exit and pulled into parking lot. Shut the vehicle off and checked tires, gas pedal, under hood. All seemed ok. I started the car and it started moving and then went back to hardly moving. I was near the dealership when this happened so took it to dealership/ service. It has had a few episodes we’re it seemed something was wrong with the car prior to this. A dragging or not shifting into gear as it should were I have pulled over to see if my tire had gone flat or something. Then it goes away. Also clock kept running slow loosing a minute every few days. Hyundai service could not get the car to repeat the incident. They ran a scan and codes were ok.
I bought this car less than 30 days ago, and it has 1,500 miles. I tried to start my car in the morning and when I put it in reverse, it just rolled forward. I braked and put it back in park and the engine shut off. I tried this a few more times before I gave up. A tow came and first suggested it was the alternator, before another tow came and suggested it was a sensor. It has been at the dealer for 48 hours without a diagnosis, “maybe the injectors.” I am fortunate this happened in a parking lot and not while I was on the road. I am now terrified to drive this car.
I was leaving a drive-through. Crossing traffic when my 2022 Tuscan N-Line just stopped accelerating the engine started to shake and SUV became unresponsive. As I was crossing traffic. I was almost hit. Moved the SUV to the middle of the street. Turned the SUV off. Restarted it. The SUV had no power and the check engine light came on. The engine started shaking violently. A bad burning smell ( like) burning rubber/ plastic started, then the engine started to smoke. I turned the SUV off again. After that the SUV wouldn’t start. Had it towed to the dealer. It only has 1130 miles on it. I just bought it July 20th.
I was driving when the car stopped accelerating. Then I smelled something burning. I was able to pull over and saw smoke coming from my tailpipe. After that, the engine light came on. A warning came up on the display that said, multiple possible conditions have occurred with your vehicle.
It was around 7 in the morning and I was getting ready for work. My garage door was open. A neighbor started pounding on my front door telling me my garage was on fire. I opened the door from my kitchen to the garage and seen smoke but it didn't seem major. I grabbed my keys and ran outside to pull my car out of the garage. I started the car and put it in reverse. It didn't want to move so I floored it. Once I got it into the driveway I heard the neighbors yell, "Lady! Get out of the car! The car is on fire!" I jumped out and seen the car was fully engulfed and had spread to the roof of the house. I grabbed the waterhose. It was of no help so I ran into the house to get my children out. Our home and everything in it were a total loss. Also my daughters car. Two of our dogs ran away. The car has been inspected by State Farm. They stated that the fire started in the engine compartment; the right front drivers side. Electrical; most likely the ABS. There were no warnings lights or symptoms. We only had the car for 5 months, it had 8000 miles on it. The oil had been changed at the Hyundai dealership just 5 weeks prior. I have talked to numerous people with Hyundai's that have caught fire, but not a 2022 as of yet. We have signed releases for Hyundia to inspect the car in February but they have not. It is still at the local tow yard. They are also supposed to inspect the house. They have offered to buy the car back but we have not agreed. We believe we are entitled to more compensation than that. I also have videos taken by neighbors and ring doorbells.
It’s not even an year I bought a 2022 Hyundai Tucson SEL (Convenience Package). I started getting couple of issues. 1. I noticed that Gears aren’t shifting smoothly and always ends whining between gear shifts. 2. Soundsystem started giving trouble since a week with unclear/distortion noises while playing music. I tried connecting via cable/bluetooth and changed to FM/USB but still the same. Worst experience for me. I hope Hyundai will help me by fixing the car.
Purchased this vehicle 12/2021 it hesitated on pick up but drove good after that nice look but the headlights are bad at night. First month I had a bad scare as when attempting to stop the brakes gave out, I had to pump multiple times to get the car to stop, this happened again about 1 month ago. On 10/10/22 while attempting to park in my driveway which is on a hill the car did not want to accelerate when pressing the gas and many lights turned on the dashboard. Warning, check engine, brake, front collision, etc. I have not had any accidents for the collision light to be on anyways. I turned the car off and restarted it I even disconnected the battery but still nothing the car has power because it does turn on and the lights, radio work but it just would not accelerate. I'm on a very dangerous hill lucky this happened late night when not much vehicle traffic. The next morning 10/11/22 around 10 am Hyundai came to pick up the vehicle. I passed by that day around 4 pm to see what was going on. They had not checked it yet which is understandable we ask the guy when he thought it would be checked out and he responded that towed vehicles take longer to be checked, we asked for a loner and they said they did not have. Saturday 10/15/22 went again, the car was still in the same spot not looked at yet, today 10/19/22- 1 week and 1 day they have not checked the car and we were told they had a lot of cars to work on and we were far down on that list. So basically they will probably take 2-3 weeks to even look at it and if any parts are needed it would probably take another month and without a loner. So we the paying clients have to figure it out. This is very unacceptable not to mention how scary it was for the car to completely give out on a hill thank god no one was driving or walking behind me. I have been driving for 29 yrs and have never experienced something like this. This car can potentially be deadly specially to a new driver.
1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The engine will not start despite having the key fob with live battery on my person. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? I was stranded 3 times in a week in dark public parking lots with limited cell reception. I had to abandon the vehicle to get to a warm, safe location, and as a single woman, did not feel comfortable staying with the car while other cars were loitering at night. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? The car has been with the dealer for 6 days now and they have not been able to replicate the issue and it has happened to me 3 times in one week. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No 5. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No, there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason why the car won't start. After a few hours, the alarm sometimes goes off, and the system resets, allowing me to restart the car. Given this car has a push button start ignition, there is no mechanical way to crank the ignition to start the car, so I am left with no recourse. The last time this happened, I had it towed to the dealership because even after waiting 3 hours, the system did not restart and I had no recourse.
My wife was driving on the parkway north in New Jersey at approximately 65 miles an hour at about 3:45 pm. The car began to lose power, was shaking, and sputtering. Luckily, she was able to pull onto the shoulder and did not get hit by another car or truck. Once she pulled over, she let the car rest for about 10 minutes and started it up again. It hesitated, but started. Once she put it in gear, it stalled. she tried this two other times and it stalled each time. she waited for a tow truck and the care was towed to the dealer. The dealer invoice with repairs is attached.
Bought this car 11/22/21. The car just stopped in the middle of the road and won't run. This happened twice on 7/31/22 and 8/17/22. Dealer said on the first incident something fired or something but engine is okay. I am awaiting for the diagnosis of this second incident. For a new car, this shouldn't happen. I could have been rear ended today 8/17/22 if the car behind me came in a little faster and if I drove in the freeway. This is a safety issue. I want this car to be recalled before something very bad happens. You can recall a car but you cannot recall a lost of life.
Purchased vehicle new at dealership with less than 20 miles on it. No aftermarket parts, no accidents or issues. Normal daily conditions, and constant logging on fueleconomy.gov. 08/17/2022 at 8:15 am: Driving 45-55 mph on major freeway with a low/moderate traffic. Roughly 5 miles from home, good road conditions and good weather. Suddenly, Automatic Emergency Braking System engaged (and related cluster lights/alarms displayed on dash). There was NOT a vehicle in front of me, and nearest vehicle in front was roughly 150 ft. away. Emergency brakes engaged so forcefully that I was unable to keep my vehicle moving forward, and vehicle came to a complete stop in the left lane of major freeway. My vehicle instantly turned off (or "died") with the radio still playing, but nothing else on. Had to place the vehicle in park, push the start button, and place the vehicle in drive, in order to continue. Obviously very unexpected. Vehicle behind me had to slam on their brakes (tires squealed) and narrowly avoided hitting my vehicle by about 36-48 inches. I'm unsure how they managed to avoid not hitting me. Unfortunately, the vehicle behind that car could NOT avoid the maneuver, and hit the vehicle that was directly behind me. I do not know if the other vehicle had injured individuals, as I was trying to get out of the left lanes of the 5-lane freeway, coming from a complete stop. Essentially, my vehicle caused someone to hit the vehicle that was directly behind me. I placed my hazard lights on, immediately pushed BlueLink button, but after two (2) times of inability to hear their voices because of breakup, I pushed SOS. Ultimately drove directly to Steele South Loop Hyundai and informed them of incident. Per dealership, they were unable to duplicate the problem, and found no error codes. I am not afraid to drive my car, with only 5,500 miles on it. Requested for dealership to report to you, but do not believe they took me seriously, so I am doing this. MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD
3rd time Engine Control System code has appeared with complete engine loss the 3rd time. Dealership reset the other times I had called AAA to have it towed to dealership. Car was undrive able. Shaking with no RPM. Dealer ship won’t look at it till the 24th of August 2022
Back view mirror does not support proper adjustment for use. Mirror does not tilt far enough upward causing me to only see the back seats and not my back mirror. Unable to use mirror places me at risk when backing up or adjusting to traffic, making me unable to see emergency vehicles or police from behind.
Hello, I am writing because I have experienced mechanical issues with my car since I purchased the automobile. Since I bought the car, I began having problems with the electrical components, the automatic emergency brake engaging while driving, and the chassis. The emergency brake has engaged while driving numerous times and has consistently been unpredictable since I've owned the car. In addition, the car's handling and suspension have been problematic since purchasing the vehicle. The car has driven poorly, with many vibrations and feeling extra loose throughout my owning the car. I received a diagnostic code via my Hyundai app indicating issues related to the chassis. I have contacted Hyundai on far too many instances regarding these problems and have not gotten any resolution. I've expressed my concerns about feeling that the car was unsafe for myself and other drivers on the road. However, Hyundai has still been unresponsive, as indicated by numerous open case files where there was no followthrough. Last week, I was in a car accident with a bus. I believe the accident occurred because of the above-stated problem. Specifically, when the emergency brake unexpectantly engages as it did right before the accident. The car is now at the Hyundai dealership. A representative from the dealership contacted me about my concerns as if the car's problems were new and they were not aware of them. These problems have caused me to experience high-stress levels because of the car's unpredictability and my fear of being in an accident. I desire to receive a two-fold resolution by submitting this letter of complaint. I want to get a properly functioning automobile and to prevent anyone else from being in an accident because of the critical mechanical issues present in the 2022 Hyundai Tucson.
