The contact owns a 2013 Infiniti JX35. The contact stated that for the past several months, the air bag warning light had been intermittently illuminated, and the fuel gauge had failed to indicate the proper fuel levels in the fuel tank. Additionally, it was difficult to open the hood. The contact researched online and related the failures to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V244000 (Air Bags),12V398000 (Fuel System, Gasoline), and 15V033000 (Structure). The vehicle was taken to a dealer, and the contact was informed that there were no open recalls associated with the VIN for the failures. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 147,516.
Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2013 Infiniti JX35. It was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy after the purchase. The vehicle was a dealer sale. The vehicle was purchased on August 16, 2025, and the vehicle mileage was 172,000. On November 26, 2025, the vehicle was repossessed, and upon further investigation, it was discovered that that vehicle's mileage was 151,289. The contact found out that the vehicle was a salvage vehicle, but the dealer did not inform the contact that the vehicle had a salvaged title. The contact stated that the dealer refused payment, and the contact had difficulty registering the vehicle.
Lost all power in my cvt tranny and won’t move or shift gears not even indicates what gear im in, it’s a recall on others why isnt it on mine being a common issue
The front and rear subframes of my 2013 Infiniti JX35 has experienced severe corrosion, perforation, and structural weakening, resulting in an unsafe driving condition. The corrosion is extensive enough to compromise suspension geometry, stability, and overall vehicle control. A structurally compromised subframe poses a serious risk of loss of control, increased stopping distance, and potential crash. A certified mechanic confirmed the vehicle is unsafe to drive due to imminent risk of subframe failure. This defect is premature, systemic, and well‑documented across the Infiniti JX35/QX60 and Nissan Pathfinder platforms.
My transmission has been going in and out while on the highway and main roads, jumps when taking off at lights and sounds like it’s not shifting gears causing a safety risk to me and my family and other on the road. I service my transmission fluid as recommend in the handbook and online reporting. infinity has a factory warranty on my vehicle but when I check the recall list it doesn’t show any recalls. I’ve been experiencing this with several jx35 infinity’s due to the cvt transmissions and would really like to have this as a recall because it’s such a common issue with these vehicles. I’ve had the same vehicle prior to this one and paid to have the transmission replaced but it still had the same issues down the road.
While driving on the freeway, the vehicle's driver assistance system suddenly became unavailable. Although the car was still able to move, the transmission would not shift gears. The engine RPMs rose unusually high — when applying pressure to the gas pedal, the RPMs could reach 4,000 to 5,000, but the vehicle accelerated very slowly. I could only maintain a speed of around 50–60 mph. It felt like the transmission was stuck in one gear and the power was not being properly delivered to the wheels. This limited acceleration and loss of responsiveness created a significant safety concern on the freeway. The following day, the check engine light turned on. I took the vehicle to AutoZone for a diagnostic scan, which returned multiple fault codes: P0840 (Transmission Fluid Pressure Sensor/Switch A Circuit), P0715 (Input/Turbine Speed Sensor A), and P0746 (Pressure Control Solenoid A Performance or Stuck Off). After researching the issue, I found that many other Infiniti JX35 owners have reported similar failures involving the CVT transmission. This appears to be a recurring defect that significantly affects drivability and safety. The repair estimate I received is over $4,000, and the vehicle remains in a compromised condition. I am reporting this as a safety concern involving powertrain failure, elevated engine stress, and loss of acceleration control.
The contact owns a 2013 Infiniti JX35. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed and attempting to accelerate, the vehicle started vibrating violently. The vehicle resumed normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence while accelerating. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to Technical Service Bulletin: ITB15-012D. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 147,000
My Infiniti driver's seat malfunctioned, crushed and pinned me, and ripped my hip out of socket when I was extracted. I'm being scheduled for surgery for a labral tear. Seat malfunctioned again in the Infiniti Roseville parking lot, and the Infiniti agent stated, on video, that the seat "motor is going out." The supervisor on duty, Micah, refused to fix the seat and Infiniti Roseville texted that the death trap seat is "operating as designed." I have the video clearly showing the seat malfunctions and is a danger to myself, my children and everyone on the roadways. The officer attending the scene when I was trapped and injured stated I'm lucky to be alive, because if the seat malfunctioned while I was driving and the airbag went off while I was pinned to the steering wheel, I would be dead. The dash had every light on possible when the seat malfunctioned and froze entirely. The car is available to be inspected, and I'm terrified to drive it if the seat is plugged in because it will crush me again. Photos and videos available if I can email them.
The subframe on this car has severely deteriorated causing it to be unsafe to drive. Had 2 individual repair shops to inspect and they both shops said it is too dangerous to drive. This car was bought new and one family owned. The car has 130,000 miles and is in pristine shape. We have been driving car until we heard a noise in rear of car and immediately had it inspected. How many other lives could be in danger because of this issue. Have reported this to Nissan and exoculated it, they have no interest in seeing this car and the potential for it causing fatal accidents without individuals being aware of the dangerous subframe.
My entire chassis is rotting and I want to know if there is any way to file a complaint and have the dealer fix it.
Transmission was replaced twice and they are saying the transfer case is now faulty.

Airbag light continuously flashes, I read that there were recalls with Nissan/Infiniti airbags and my model and year was included so I took it to the dealer to have it checked. Infiniti of Lynnwood can't find the problem, they said all the sensors were fine and diagnosed it as; "98820-3JA9B - Sensor-Side Airbag center. Airbag diagnosis sensor to start, this is the first step, will have to test further if not corrected after replacement". The service dealer said that it's the first step to figure out what's wrong, the quote was $2,120.96, he said it might fix it and can be a money pit. My concern is that my car might have been missed in the airbag recall.
The contact owns a 2013 Infiniti JX35. The contact while reversing, there was a delay in the transmission shifting. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the vehicle received a tune up. On another occasion, while driving 60 MPH, the traction control warning light illuminated, and the vehicle lost motive power. The contact pulled over on the side of the road and after several attempts the vehicle restarted; however, the vehicle was not operating properly. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the contact was informed that the failure might be related to the transmission however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 146,000.
The transmission failed without warning. The vehicle was perfectly fine. I've found articles recalling the JX 35 for transmission issues. The car is available for inspection. Our safety was put at risk when the vehicle would not accelerate as I was going through a main intersection while vehicles were coming towards me. This issue came out of no where. No check engine light warning came on to warn me of the issue. The check engine light came on the next day when I started the vehicle. The Infiniti dealership confirmed that the transmission failed and needs to be replaced. The issue first appeared on Sunday, July 9, 2023. Again there was no check engine warning light when the issue started. The next day on July 10, 2023 the check engine light appeared and the vehicle was towed to the Infiniti dealership.
I was stopped at a stop sign. When I tried to make my turn/proceed my vehicle putted through the turn. It wouldn’t go over 5 mph it seemed. Luckily I made it out of the way before the oncoming traffic got to me. I pulled over turned the car off and then back on & it worked good enough to get me home. I took it to a mechanic and was informed it was the transmission. I did some research and found this is a common issue with this vehicle. For some reason my vehicle is not listed on the recall list, though it is exhibiting all the same issues others reported. Car is currently sitting until I can afford a new transmission. Sadly I’m still making payments on it.
The contact owns a 2013 Infiniti JX35. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the transmission was slipping, and the vehicle was stalling. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The mechanic made the contact aware of TSB Number: ITB15-012D (CVT Judder); however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was 120,320.
While driving the car I began to loose steering control . The car would not go in the direction I wanted to go. It was a harrowing experience but I managed to get to my destination. There My father noticed that the right front tire was rubbing the front of the wheel well. After further inspection I could see where the right lower control arm had broken free of the front subframe. I took photos of the damage from different angles .From these I could see that the top of the subframe had severe corrosion while the bottom was intact. I am thankful that I lived through this without suffering injury or death. I reached out to Infinity consumer affairs about this issue and all they could say is that the warranty was up without any concern of this being a major issue with this JX35 Infinity. I feel that a subframe should not break after only 10 Years. This is not an inexpensive car. ( photos attached)
My vehicle started jerking and would not gain speed while in traffic while I was dropping my children off at school. I took it an Infiniti dealer to learn that there is transmission failure.
Transmission failed at 101000 miles. Going 70 miles a hour on interstate.it slowed down to15 miles a hour, for the love of something no one hit me, but it could of been a deadly combo. I'm also on a fb group and everyone complains of their trans going out. Also before then alternator and radiator fan, maf throttle and purge valve at 90000 miles, which none is covered. I did pay $3000 for a extended warranty up to 116000 miles. But this transmission is a Worldwide Nissan problem and should of been recalled. Also my BCI continues malfunctioning. I've only had the vehicle since February 2022.
When raining water leaks on floor both driver/passenger. Water leaks inside from underneath dashboard leaving feet/floor wet. The hood doesn’t open when released latch is stuck cannot open hood.
Rear subframe cradle failed on new years day while family was in vehicle and attempted to stop at red light. Rear trailing arm mount was fully rotted and snapped off while braking for red light and fully occupied vehicle. Luckily the brake line wasn't pinched and we walked away. Purchased this vehicle with 8k miles certified used amd waited for this color combo and package to be available, owned a 1997 Nissan Maxima, then 2000 Nissan Maxima, then 2008 Infiniti EX35, amd now have the 2018 Q60 Redsport 400 along with the JX35. We love Nissan and Infiniti and recommended them to friends and family, buy this is not normal. The vehicle stays parked indoors in a garage at our home.
The component is the rear subframe has rotted to the point of the trailing arms breaking free. This is a know problem with the same part on the Nissan pathfinder but for whatever reasons the recall was not extended to the infinity jx35
Known issue by Infiniti. Front (driver's side) headlight main bulb shorted out. Condensation "traveled" in the the assembly, but did not vent out. Replacement bulbs do not resolve the issue. The first time it happened, it occurred in December 2017 and was replaced by Infinity of Lynnwood (that was also the last month of the warranty). Now, the same one shorted out again at the end of December 2022, just 5 years later. It's a known issue but Infinity won't issue a recall. There is a service bulletin (TSB No. 03-051I) SB-10032304-9755. Though a known issue, the dealership will not rectify the situation without compensation.
The contact owns a 2013 Infiniti JX35. The contact stated while driving approximately 20 MPH, the vehicle was jerking as the intelligent brake assist and blind spot intervention malfunction warning lights illuminated. The contact also stated that she was unable to drive at faster speeds because the RPM would increase and remain at 5,000 RPM. Additionally, the contact stated that while she was coming to a stop at a traffic light, the vehicle stalled and then lost motive power. The vehicle was able to be restarted. The vehicle had not yet been taken to a local dealer or independent mechanic for diagnosis or repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The approximate failure mileage was 103,000.
The contact owns a 2013 Infiniti JX35. The contact stated while driving at various speeds and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle hesitated to respond. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that her husband used an OBD reader and retrieved DTC Code: P17F0, which indicated a CVT transmission failure. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in a recall. The contact related the failure to TSB Number: ITB15-012E. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 156,000.
The contact owns a 2013 Infiniti JX35. The contact stated while driving at 40 MPH, she felt the vehicle vibrate. The contact then attempted to accelerate however the vehicle failed to increase in speed. The vehicle was shut off and then restarted but the failure persisted. The contact was able to shift into reverse and exit out the highway. She pulled over and waited for the vehicle to cool down, and the contact started up the vehicle, and the vehicle was operating normally. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 135,000.
The contact owns a 2013 Infiniti JX. The contact stated while coming to a stop, the contact felt the vehicle pulling to the left. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who replaced both front struts, front passenger’s side control arm, the radiator, and the brakes however, the failure persisted. The mechanic also noticed that the rear subframe was rusted and had fractured. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that the vehicle was out of warranty The failure mileage was 150,000.
while driving the vehicle randomly looses power to the engine and all electrical power goes off. The dash is completely without power. Engine will not accelerate and looses power steering like the engine is off. After a few moments all power is returned and engine comes back on to normal operation.
I own a 2013 Infiniti JX35 and the transmission failed on 1 July 2022. It was replaced by AAMCO in Irondale Alabama on the 8th of July. The transmission promptly failed on the way back to SC. during the failure, the FCW and BCI malfunction warning lights came on and the vehicle shuddered and loss power while I was on the highway. the check engine light also came on. I am now hearing that this is a common problem with the 2013 JX35 and the 2014-15 QX60 SUVs. Had I known about this issue, I never would have purchased this death trap. I have made a subsequent trip to the AAMCO here in Columbia, SC and they reset or cleared the codes and as soon as I got on the road to head home, they came right back and I loss power and the vehicle began to shudder again.
The car suddenly started jerking and stopped moving. After it was switched off and back on, it started to move again but the same issue happened again. After having the care towed to the dealership, I was informed that the transmission was bad an needed to be replaced. I had only ever taken the car to be serviced by the dealer and never was I informed that the transmission had any issues. After careful research, I found out that this was a common issue with this particular vehicle and several complaints had been lodged with the manufacturer, and there is even an active class action suit against them regarding the CVT transmission.
The vehicle components OCS MODULES and Sensors are failed. They have been inspected by Bob Moore Dealer in OKC, OK and with their repair shop currently waiting for Recall Approval. There is a warning signal on dash board of Airbag displaying off when a passenger is sitting on front passenger side. It does not sensor anyone in seat. Their are several campaigns out on JX35 but say it has expired. However, the campaigns described my current Safety issue I'm having with my JX35 2013 Vehicle. They dealer need a current approval/ Campaign to cover my repair cost of$785.24
No warning lights etc prior to the issue. The vehicle slowed down and sped up on its own. The vehicle would randomly slow down when you were trying to speed up and speed up when you were trying to slow down. The vehicle would change out of gears. The vehicle changed gears in traffic - Transmission Failure and Catalytic Converter Failure Safety - The vehicle slowed and sped up on its own in traffic- Transmission Catalytic Converter -Could have received carbon monoxide poisoning The issue first appeared in April -May 2022 The vehicle has been inspected by Nalley Infiniti. The dealership confirmed that this is a well-known issue with this model vehicle but no official recall has been issued. They There were no warning signs of the vehicle having issues. The vehicle had just been in for service and has only been serviced by this Infiniti dealership during my ownership of the vehicle.
Been having transmission problems with this car. Saw the CVT transmission has had multiple issues with other Nissan car brands but mine was not included in any recalls. Safety is the car will not shift out of gear (dont know which) on the highway. What we been doing is parking for a hour or so and it back to working normal. Infiniti says they dont see a problem because when we take into the dealership it doesnt do it only on highway for a period of time. Also no transmission lights or anything come on when this happens. Ive read on numerous infiniti forums online people having the same issue expecting more since seems to be happening around the 100k mark and this car is almost 10 years old.
The contact owns a 2013 Infiniti JX35. The contact stated while driving at 58 MPH, the vehicle started shuddering inadvertently. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact then exited the highway and continued to drive at slower speeds. The contact stated that the vehicle started making a loud abnormal slapping sound. The contact continued to drive to her residence. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the transmission valve body had failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 126,684.
Supplemental restraint system side control module has failed. I have got it checked to find out that this part is notorious for failing. It makes it so the airbags will not work in an accident. My airbag light was blinking and I took it in to get repaired only to find that the restraint system is broke and is NOT easy or cheap to fix. I feel like since the airbags not working is a huge safety issue I feel as if there should be something done about this
On three occasions the headlight assembly became unsealed allowing moisture to enter the sealed headlight assembly, thus short circuiting the HID bulb and ballast. This affected both the drivers and passenger headlight assembly the first time and just last week the driver's side light, again. We have seen other JX35, as well as QX60 models having moisture in the headlight assembly (light not functional), and were told by the dealership that they currently have two other cars (same model) on the lot with the same issue. Searches on line show this is a continual problem with these models (JX36 and QX60). The manufacture is not standing behind their product and this is a safety hazard as the vehicle is without a, or both headlights.
Transmission CVT just shudder, shakes. Feels like it’s not going to the right gear from full stop to going forward
2013 JX 35, rear subframe is cracked. With this vehicle only being in service approx 9yrs, i find it hard that a frame issue is even possible. This sounds like a manufacturer defect than anything else. Inspection at my local dealer found the issue when I brought it in from oil change. 3rd party service centers have all stated that there is no way that this truck has a subframe issue
When I accelerate the car, its feels like the transmission shudders. Feels like I am driving over rubble. Don't know if this is what they call Gear slipping or transmission slipping. Happens in ECO and Standard mode, have not tried it in sport mode. [XXX] INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
The vehicle was being driven on the freeway. I was driving in the carpool lane with a passenger going around 75-80mph. The road was a smooth paved road, there wasn't anything on the road for my car to hit or run over. Then all of a sudden the driver-side airbag curtain deployed, and my seatbelt tightened and locked up in place. This frightened me and left me unable to drive correctly and endangered both my passenger's and my life. I had to immediately pull off to an exit and I concluded that the driver-side airbags deployed spontaneously and this put my life in danger and others driving on the freeway. So the driver-side side airbags malfunctioned and are available for inspection. The safety of others was put at risk by having the airbags deployed while driving on the freeway at a fairly high speed. The component has not been inspected or replaced by the manufacturer or any other entity. There was a passenger seatbelt warning light lit up prior to the incident, but it was for the passenger airbags and its meaning is that the passenger airbags would not deploy in the case of a vehicle accident/collision.
The contact owns a 2013 Infiniti JX35. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle made abnormal sounds while turning. Additionally, the vehicle was shaking. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with magnetic coupling failure. The dealer informed the contact that the magnetic coupling needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that the vehicle was not covered under warranty. The contact related the failure to TSB 12-072C. The failure mileage was approximately 114,000.
Like most of the issues everyone has been speaking to, we noticed that the transmission started to have a "shudder" looping at lower RPM/speeds. The vehicle had just over 106K miles on it luckily the vehicle had an extended warranty on it and the warranty covered the cost to replace it with a reman. transmission. I fully agree with everyone else, if this is a known issue for multiple year and cross over models, Nissan/Infiniti needs to make it right. These CVT transmissions are known to have problems and are costly to repair.
The contact owns a 2013 Infiniti JX35. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle shuddered. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and diagnosed with engine codes P0101 - Mass airflow sensor, P0456 - Small evaporation leak, and transmission codes P0868 - Secondary pressure drop, P0746 - Pressure control solenoid, and C1F05 - Accelerator pedal actuator power supply circuit. The contact was referred to another independent mechanic who specialized in transmission repairs. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that there was no recall associated with the VIN. The contact related the failure to TSB Number: ITB15-012D Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.
There are several complaints regarding the headlights that the headlights continue to get moisture in them and it requires a new headlight assembly. There were 16 cases regarding the JX35 model and several for the QX60 model that replaced it.
Drivers headlights went out and there is condensation that has gathered in the headlight assembly.
While traveling on highway it suddenly stopped accelerating and came to a complete stop even though the car was started the RPM wouldn’t go above 3000 and it wouldn’t move forward. Thankfully we are safe.
When I purchased the car no warning lights or problems were wrong with it it drove fine. The same day I got it home which is an hour away, the check engine light came on so i called them back. I took car back to shop and told them the code said it was the converter they said that was not right and it was just bad gas put in it so they reset engine light. As soon as i got back home the engine light came back on and then all the power locks on the doors stopped working. I took it to meinieke in greenville in which they said my converter went bad and that is why the engine light was on. Then they said it must have been in water because it was severe rust underneath the hood. and it effected electrical system. However, none of this information was on the car fax report. no flood damage, no repairs etc. Also none of this was occurring
