While driving on [XXX] N in Jacksonville, FL on [XXX]. Driving below the recommended speed limit my Jeep Cherokee Sport started to rattle and shake so violently I almost lost control of the vehicle. I hit a small bump in the road, was forced off to the right side and the front drivers wheel broke off from the drum. It was a frightening experience and could have lost my life as the highway was busy with morning traffic. No know suspension issues before this happened. I understand this was a recall issue on different models of Jeep vehicles, so why wasn't the Cherokee Sport not included? I am currently waiting on repair cost and confirmation from the insurance company. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

My car has 123,000 done everything by book. Been report issues for over yr. Car almost got my killed by not stopping, turning, jerking on Accelerating and decelerating when shifting. All my motor mounts, transmission mount busted , messed up suspension control arm, ball joints, struts , axle, brakes all once. Drained battery. Spent 4500. Then my service shifter just came on. So back at shop. This is insane my shifter should last life time of my car. Due to the damage of that it cause a downfall of front end issues. This is well known issues of Jeep 2016 but not mine for a recall. It has cost me thousands and should not be happening at 122,000 miles . Car is at dealership again now and i have rental so not sure what that will cost. This started 2/11 not codes just could tell already filed reports with you all. My brakes lasted years , rotors was changed 2/11 hoping it helped per papers already damaged due to all this other crap. I’m very upset my car shouldn’t be having all these issues at 122,000 we are 1 car family
The contact owns a 2016 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormal popping and clicking sound coming from the front end of the vehicle. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to Technical Service Bulletin: 02-004-15. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 49,000.
I’ve had this vehicle for a few years now and at the time of purchase the vehicle had 16,000-18,000 miles on it. It’s a 2016 and I believe I purchased the vehicle in 2019 so I’ve had it for about three years now. I didn’t really start to pay any attention to the shaking/shimmy/wobble that the vehicle has until about a year after I purchased it because at first it wasn’t nearly as noticeable as it is today and I had just upgraded from a cheap little Chevy cobalt that was a beater and the jeep was a huge upgrade and improvement from that vehicle causing me to gloss over the problem initially. The problem seems to get worse over time and regardless of me getting new tires, getting them balanced and alignments the same shaking/wobbling/shimmying persists. No issues can be determined that would cause the problem and I am told that the shaking is normal upon reaching higher speeds or that the complaint cannot be replicated. The shaking starts anytime I begin to reach speeds around 45 mph and higher and then seem to stop once reaching speeds around 65 mph . To test further I’ve reached speeds of around 80 mph and again the shaking starts once you get around 70 mph but does not stop shaking when letting off of the accelerator as it does at speeds of 65 mph and lower but instead continues to shake while both pressing the accelerator and letting off of the accelerator becoming worse if you apply the brakes. The shake seems to come from only the front wheels and is violent enough of a shake that it can be visibly witnessed and also felt by looking at the steering wheel and holding onto the steering wheel. Issue persist and has not been resolved. Tires also show uneven and irregular wear on the tread of both front wheels. Front tires need to be replaced more frequently than the rear tires. Rear tires always seem to look almost new while the front tires look as if they weren’t changed at the same time as the rear tires. Not consistent with what would be considered normal

PURCHASED 75,000 MILE WARRANTY WITH TOB. AROUND 30,000 MOTOR REPLACED. OIL CONSUMPTION. NC. HAD IT AT MIDAS AT 67,584 MILES BECAUSE OF UNUSUAL NOISES IN THE FRONT END. WAS DETERMINED TO BE THE DRIVETRAIN. ADVISED ME TO CHECK WITH TOM O'BRIEN CHRYSLER, DODGE, JEEP RAM IN GREENWOOD INDIANA THAT IT MIGHT BE UNDER WARRANTY. HAD IT THERE TWICE, MIDAS GREENWOOD TWICE AND FLETCHER CHRYSLER, DODGE, JEEP RAM IN FRANKLIN INDIANA TWICE. EACH MADE REPAIRS TO IT COSTING ME $595 TOTAL IN OUT-OF-POCKET DEDUCTIBLES. BILLING TO WARRANTY COMPANY: MIDAS $1933.57, FLETCHER $618 AND TOB $2267 WHICH IS "THE MECHANIC" (MECHANICAL REPAIR SERVICE CONTRACT) TEL # 800-621-2130. CONTRACT # GW227456. THE VEHICLE HAD THESE ISSUES OF UNUSUAL NOISES ON ROUGH PAVEMENT, WANDERING WHEN TAKING OFF FROM STOP GOING THRU SHIFTING GEARS MOVING FROM RIGHT TO LEFT THEN BACK TO STRAIGHT THEN GOING BACK TO THE RIGHT EVERY TIME ON SHIFTING. AT 75,000 MILES THE WARRANTY RAN OUT AND UP TO THAT TIME "NONE" OF THE COMPANIES FIGURED IT OUT NOR FIXED IT. WE WERE TOLD THAT THE LEMON LAW DIDN'T APPLY. SO NOW AT 80194 MILES IT'S SO BAD THAT IT'S UNTRUSTWORTHY AND IT'S GETTING WORSE BY THE DAY. I CAN'T FIND ANYBODY TO FIX IT ESPECIALLY NOW THAT THE WARRANTY IS OUT AND THE ONLY PLACE THAT WE CAN TRADE IT IS BACK AT TOB WHICH WE WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER PRODUCT FROM THEM. I HAVE ALL THE RECEIPTS FOR ALL REPAIRS MADE THAT DID NOT FIX IT. SO WE ARE STUCK. CAN'T FIX IT NOR TRADE AND GET A GOOD PRICE FOR IT.
THE RPM'S ON THIS TRANSMISSION IN THIS VEHICLE GO UP VERY HIGH BUT THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT SHIFT INTO GEAR. THE VEHICLE SPUTTERS AND SLOWS ON THE OPEN ROAD. THE ENGINE DOES RUN ON ALL CYLINDERS. THE ENGINE HAS NO POWER. THIS CREATES A SAFETY RISK ON A HIGHWAY. ALSO THE DIFFERENTIAL LOCKS UP WHEN YOU HAVE TO HIT THE BRAKES AND THREE REAR OF THE CAR LOCKS UP AND SKIDS LEFT OF CENTER. PARTY'S OF THE SUSPENSION HAVE BROKEN FOR NO APPARENT REASON. THE LEFT REAR CONTROL ARM BROKE FOR NO APPARENT REASON. I HAVE BEEN INFORMED BY A JEEP DEALERSHIP THAT THIS VEHICLE IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. I HAVE FILED COMPLAINTS WITH CHRYSLER ON THREE OCCASIONS INFORMING THEM OF THE NUMEROUS ISSUES WITH THIS VEHICLE. I WAS ADVISED TO GET A DIAGNOSTIC TEST DONE AND THEY WOULD WORK WITH ME TO BUY THIS CAR BACK. I DID AS REQUESTED AND NOW BEING INFORMED I WILL PROBABLY HAVE TO GO TO ARBITRATION. THREE TIMES NOW WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES HARD ON A HIGHWAY THE EAST LOCKED UP AND THE LEFT REAR OF MY CAR SKIDDED AND I HAD NO CONTROL. I NEARLY HIT A RETAINING WALL. I HAVE A VEHICLE THAT THE DEALERSHIP HAS DEEMED UNSAFE TO DRIVE.
AFTER PURCHASE OF MY 2016 JEEP, WHICH HAD 8000 MILES, I BEGAN EXPERIENCING STRONG SHAKING IN THE FRONT SUSPENSION WHEN A BUMP IN THE ROAD WAS STRUCK. I TOOK THE CAR TO JEEP, DARCAR IN WALDORF MARYLAND. THEY COULD FIND NOTHING. THIS SHAKING CONTINUED SO I TOOK IT BACK. AGAIN THEY COULD FIND NOTHING. NOW MY FRONT END IS NOT ONLY JUMPING BUT SQUEALING. THIS IS MY FIRST JEEP AND AS MUCH AS I LIKE THE VEHICLE, I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT A PROBLEM IS OCCURRING ALREADY. THIS OCCURRED AND GOT WORST AS I WAS DRIVING ON THE STREETS OF PENNSYLVANIA AND THE CITY OF WALDORF MARYLAND
THE JEEP STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION! SEVERAL TIMES AND ONCE AS I WAS EXITING THE FREEWAY ! THE SERVICE TRANSMISSION LIGHT WENT ON AND THEN I RECEIVED THE JEEP BACK NINE DAYS LATER AND THE THE ENGINE RATTLES AND THE CONSOLE CRACKING SOUNDS THEMOTOR SOUND LIKE IT'S RUNNING HIGHER THAN BEFORE IT WAS FIX I TOOK IT BACK THE SERVICE MANGER TOLD ME THAT IT RUNS FINE AND I NEED TO RELAX AND ENJOY THE ARTS BUT I DON'T THINK IT WORKING LIKE IT WAS PRIOR TO BREAKING DOWN ! IT HAD 6949 MILES ON IT AND NOW THE SHOCKS SEEM TO HIT HARD TOO ! SO I NOT SURE WHAT'S GOING ON ! JEEP CORPORATE TOLD ME TO DRIVE IT BUT I DON'T FEEL SAFE ! I ASKED FOR A BETTER JEEP!
