THE PLASTIC HOUSING AROUND THE DOOR HANDLE HAS CRACKED AND BROKEN. THIS SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM FOR MANY OWNERS. THIS COULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE (NOT BEING ABLE TO EXIT THE VEHICLE IN AN EMERGENCY). THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL ITEM. *TT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP COMMANDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL AT ANY TIME WITHOUT WARNING. A LOCAL MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE CONTACT OF THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 08V203000 (POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM, PCM)) BUT ADVISED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT ASSOCIATED WITH THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 84,500.
THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR LATCH OF OUR 2006 JEEP COMMANDER 4X4 SUFFERED A FAILURE CAUSING THE DOOR TO NOT BE ABLE TO BE OPENED FROM THE INSIDE OF THE CAR POSING A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY RISK. THE DOOR LATCH IS A PLASTIC PULL WHICH IS PART OF THE ONE-PIECE MOLDED PLASTIC DOOR PANEL. THE PLASTIC BEHIND OUR DOOR LATCH STARTED TO CRACK OVER TIME AND UPON A FAMILY MEMBER CLOSING THE DOOR AND THE DOOR PANEL COMING IN CONTACT WITH THE INDIVIDUAL'S LEG, THE DOOR LATCH COMPLETELY DETACHED FROM THE DOOR PANEL CAUSING IT TO FLOAT INSIDE THE DOOR CAVITY. THE DOOR LATCH THEN FELL APART AND THE ONLY WAY TO OPEN THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR IS TO REACH INSIDE THE HOLE IN THE CAVITY TO FIND WHAT THE DOOR LATCH WAS ATTACHED TO. HAVING THE DOOR LATCH ONLY SECURED TO THIN MOLDED PLASTIC OF THE DOOR PANEL IS A DESIGN WHICH LED TO OUR SAFETY FAILURE AND WE ARE NOT THE ONLY INDIVIDUALS WITH THIS ISSUE. UPON RESEARCHING ONLINE, THERE ARE DOZENS OF OTHER INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE HAD ONE IF NOT MULTIPLE DOOR LATCH FAILURES IN EARLY 2006 JEEP COMMANDERS CAUSING A SAFETY RISK. THE ISSUES OCCURS AT VARIOUS MILEAGE POINTS AND OFTEN WITH LITTLE TO NO WEAR/TEAR AND IT APPEARS DEALERSHIPS ARE NOT CONSISTENTLY REPLACING THESE PARTS UNDER WARRANTY. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY THE CAR SHUT OFF WHILE GOING 60 MILES PER HOUR. I COASTED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE ENGINE WAS ABLE TO RESTART. IT WAS VERY DANGEROUS THOUGH HAVING THE CAR SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING 60 MILES PER HOUR ON A BUSY ROAD AND TRYING TO PULL OFF THE ROAD SAFELY. THE ENGINE LIGHTS STAYED ON AFTER THE CAR WAS RESTARTED. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE SERVICE CENTER FOR REPAIR. THEY RE-FLASHED TO CORRECT THE CODES. *TT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP COMMANDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED. THE INTERIOR LIGHTING AND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTING BEGAN TO FLICKER ERRATICALLY, AND A WARNING LIGHT ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL DISPLAYED A MESSAGE INDICATING THAT THE TRANSMISSION OVERHEATED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT SHE PREVIOUSLY EXPERIENCED INTERMITTENT DECELERATION AS WELL AS FLICKERING OF THE INTERIOR LIGHTING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED HOME. THE DEALER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO BRING THE BATTERY IN FOR INSPECTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,000.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76,000.
I WAS GETTING OFF ON AN EXIT WITH A SLIGHT INCLINE. I HAD MY FOOT SLIGHTLY ON THE BREAK TO DECELERATE. THE CAR JERKED AND THE TRACTION CONTROL AND ABS LIGHTS CAME ON. THE ROADS WERE DRY. THERE WAS NO REASON FOR THE TRACTION CONTROL AND ABS TO TURN ON. THE LIGHTS REMAINED ON. IT FELT AS IF SOMEONE PUT THEIR FOOT ON THE BREAKS QUICKLY. AFTER I ARRIVED AT MY LOCATION I TURNED THE CAR OFF. WHEN I RESTARTED THE CAR THE LIGHTS WERE OFF. I CONTACTED MY SERVICE CENTER. THEY HAD ME BRING IN THE CAR. THEY RE-FLASHED TO CORRECT THE CODES. *TT
MY SON WAS A PASSENGER IN HIS 2006 JEEP COMMANDER WHEN THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE BLEW. THE PERSON DRIVING IT TRIED TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE ENDED UP ROLLING SEVERAL TIMES. NONE OF THE VEHICLE'S AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. OUR CONCERN WAS SPECIFICALLY THE SIDE AIRBAGS THAT ARE SUPPOSE TO DEPLOY ON A ROLL OVER. MY SON SUFFERED A SKULL FRACTURE ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF HIS HEAD FROM HITTING HIS HEAD ON THE WINDOW EACH TIME THE CAR ROLLED OVER. HE ALSO SUFFERED BROKEN CLAVICLE, SCAPULA AND HUMERUS ON THE RIGHT SIDE. THE PASSENGER SUFFERED WHIP LASH AND A SLIGHT CONCUSSION. MY SON IS PERMANENTLY BLIND IN HIS RIGHT EYE AND IS GOING THROUGH PHYSICAL AND OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO THIS FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL MONTHS. WE HAVE PHOTOS OF THE VEHICLE UPON REQUEST. JEEP DID AN INVESTIGATION AND SENT ME A LETTER STATING THAT THE IMPACT WAS NOT SUFFICIENT TO CAUSE THE AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY. I HAVE A CONCERN ABOUT THIS EXPLANATION. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THE SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS ARE TO DEPLOY WHEN THE VEHICLE STARTS THE ROLL OVER, NOT ON AN IMPACT. *TR
THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES OF 3 OUT OF 4 DOORS HAVE ALL CRACKED AND BROKEN INTO PIECES. THESE HANDLES HAVE NO BECOME A SAFETY CONCERN, BASED ON THE ABILITY TO FREE THE PASSENGERS FROM INSIDE THE VEHICLE IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY. I HAVE TWO SMALL CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 5 AND IT HAS BECOME VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO OPEN THE DOORS FROM THE INSIDE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP COMMANDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE STOPPED, SHE ATTEMPTED A RIGHT TURN BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. ADDITIONALLY, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY WHILE THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE WOULD ALSO NOT SHIFT OUT OF NEUTRAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS WHERE THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE ECM WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V175000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM , POWER TRAIN) BUT WAS ADVISED BY THE MANUFACTURER THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP COMMANDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE INTERIOR DOOR FRACTURED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE ENTIRE DOOR PANEL WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW REGULATOR FAILED AND WOULD NOT REMAIN CLOSED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46,533.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP COMMANDER. THE CONTACT WAS TRAVELING 55 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER BUT WAS NOT REPAIRED OR DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 61,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 71,000.
I WAS DRIVING ALONG THE HIGHWAY, WHEN THE VEHICLE STALLED AND ALL OF THE LIGHTS CAME ON. I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND RESTARTED IT AND DROVE AWAY. AFTER TAKING IT IN I WAS TOLD IT WAS A PROBLEM WITH CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR AND THAT IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. AFTER REPLACING THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR AND DRIVING IT BACK UP TO THE MOUNTAINS, IT HAPPENED AGAIN. SAME PROBLEM. I REPLACED THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR FOR A SECOND TIME. 6 MONTHS LATER A SIMILAR PROBLEM HAPPENED BUT INSTEAD OF SHUTTING DOWN THE CAR JUST SPUTTERED AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND STARTED BLINKING. AFTER TAKING IT IN THE SHOP SAID THAT THE 02 SENSOR NEEDED REPLACING. I HAD PASSENGER FRONT O2 SENSOR REPLACED LAST MONTH, AND NOW IT IS HAPPENING AGAIN. THE SHOP IS NOW SAYING THAT THE PCM IS BAD AND THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. WHEN WILL THIS END? *TR
SUDDENLY OUT OF NOWHERE MY 2006 JEEP COMMANDER V6 JUST START JERKING AND DRIVING VERY POORLY. IT ONLY STAYS IN THIRD GEAR AND THE MIL LIGHT INDICATOR IS ON. IT ALSO JERKS AND SEEMS LIKE THERE'S ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION. I'VE READ ONLINE HUNDREDS OF USERS POSTING THE SAME ISSUE BUT THERE IS NO RECALL ON THE VEHICLE YET. THIS IS VERY IRRITATING AND THIS COULD'VE EASILY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. I DO NOT EVER PLAN ON PURCHASING AN AMERICAN MADE VEHICLE EVER AGAIN. THE JEEP DEALER WILL NOT ADDRESS THIS ISSUE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED WHERE THEY CONFIRMED THAT THE VIN DID NOT QUALIFY FOR REPAIRS UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER:08V203000(POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM, PCM). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 74,000.
I AM HAVING TROUBLE WITH MY HEAD LIGHTS FLASHING AND MY DASH BOARD FLASHING ON AND OFF AND IT IS VERY DANGEROUS WHEN IT HAPPENS AT NIGHT BCZ MY LIGHTS GO ON AND OFF MAKING IT HARD TO DRIVE AND TO FOCUS ON THE ROAD.MY SEAT BELTS FALLING APART AND NOT WANTING TO LATCH AND IS HARD TO GET IT APART WHEN IT DOES.NOT SURE WHAT IS GOING ON BUT ANY HELPFUL ADVISE WOULD BE APPRECIATED. *JS
IN JUNE OF 2011 I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE FWY AT 70MPH WHEN THE ENGINE TURNED OFF STEERING WHEEL LOCKED AND I HAS TO COAST OFF THE FWY LUCKILY IT WAS NIGHT AND LITTLE TRAFFIC (CALIFORNIA IS KNOWN FOR HEAVY FWY TRAFFIC. IT STARTED AGAIN EARLY 2012 THIS TIME THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SHIFT AT APPROPRIATE TIMES AND REV THE ENGINE WHILE MAINTAINING SPEED IN ANY GEAR AND WOULD DO THAT FOR 5-7 DAYS IN A ROW AND THEN RUN NORMALLY (THIS STILL OCCURS AT LEAST ONCE A MONTH) DEALERSHIP AND OTHER MECHANICS COULD NOT FIND AN ISSUE AND BASICALLY STATED THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING HOT AND THE FAN HAD NOT KICKED IN NO THE CASE SINCE THIS WAS WINTER TIME WHEN IT BEGAN. AS RECENTLY AS APRIL OF 2014 IT BEGAN TURNING OFF COMPLETELY WHEN SLOWLY COMING TO A STOP ANYWHERE ON THE FWY AT A SIGNAL GOING UPHILL, DOWNHILL, PARKING IN A PARKING SPACE AND THIS HAPPENS EVERY DAY ALL DAY LONG - IT NEVER DOES NOT DO IT. AT THIS TIME I HAVE 117000 AND IT IS VERY UNSETTLING AS I HAVE A 7 YEAR OLD SON, A FULL TIME JOB AND LIVE IN BUSY CALIFORNIA - THE FACT THAT JEEP/CHRYSLER IS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE REPAIR NEEDED IS PUTTING MY FAMILY AT RISK DAY AFTER DAY - I CAN BARELY AFFORD AND MAKE ENDS MEET AND THIS HAS CAUSED ME MUCH STRESS. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO TURN THE ENGINE SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE THE VEHICLE WOULD START. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION BUT HE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP COMMANDER. THE CONTACT STATED THE ENGINE WOULD SPORADICALLY MISFIRE. THE DEALER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND DETERMINED THAT THE CYLINDER HEAD WAS DEFECTIVE. THE CONTACT BELIEVED THE FAILURE TO BE A MANUFACTURING DEFECT DUE TO THE LOW MILEAGE OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 37,000. UPDATED 09/01/11*LJ THE DEALER RAN VARIOUS TEST AND INDICATED THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO EXCESSIVE CARBON BUILD-UP. UPDATED 09/12/11

THE CONTACT DISCOVERED A VALVE DEFECT IN BOTH PASSENGER SIDE TIRES, AS WELL AS THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE. THE FAILURE WAS NOT REPAIRED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 79,000.
JEEP COMMANDER 2006 V8 4.7 -ENGINE STALLS WHILE DRIVING WITH 65 MI/H ON THE FREEWAY!!!IN THE PAST HAS STALLED SEVERAL TIMES WHEN STOPPING ON A RED LIGHTS,BUT YESTERDAY HAPPENED AT A FREEWAY SPEED! I WILL NOT DRIVE MY CHILDREN WITH THIS VEHICLE UNTIL CHRYSLER FIX THE PROBLEM.I HAVE FILED COMPLAINT WITH THE COMPANY FEW WEEKS AGO ABOUT STALLING ON STOP LIGHTS AND THEY SAID THAT I NEED TO SHOW THE SERVICE PERSON THE PROBLEM ,BUT THAT VERY DAY THE VEHICLE WAS IN A GOOD MOOD AND I WAS NOT ABLE TO SHOW THE PROBLEM.THE CHRYSLER PERSON TOLD ME THAT THEY WILL PUT MY CASE ON HOLD FOR NOW( I GUESS THEY WILL LOOK INTO IT AFTER THE BLOODY CRASH). 2006 JEEP COMMANDER. ON A RECENT TRIP 6-6-11. WIFE WAS DRIVING. ATTEMPTED TO SET (SET) CRUISE CONTROL. EXPERIENCED RUNAWAY THROTTLE WIDE OPEN. NEARLY REARENDED CARS. IT CONTINUES TO DO THIS. I CONTACTED JEEP AND REPORTED THE EXPERIENCE AND HAVE SETUP A SERVICE APPOINTMENT. JEEP CLAIMS NO RECALLS. STRINS ON THE INTERNET WOULD INDICATE IT IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT. *TR
DRIVERS SIDE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE HAS BROKEN. I WENT TO EXIT MY 2006 JEEP COMMANDER AND THE PLASTIC BEHIND THE DOOR HANDLE BROKE AWAY FROM THE DOOR PANEL AND I COULDN'T OPEN THE DOOR. I HAD TO EXIT THE VEHICLE FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE. I AM THANKFUL THAT IT WASN'T AN EMERGENCY SITUATION LIKE A FIRE! THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL! VERY DANGEROUS!
DOOR HANDLES , INTERIOR, ARE CHEAPER PLASTIC THAN FOR CHILD'S TOY CAR. THREE OUT OF FOUR HAVE SHATTERED DURING NORMAL USE, THE FOURTH IS ALMOST COMPLETELY CRACKED. 2006 JEEP COMMANDER DOES NOT START. WE HAVE TO TRY ABOUT 30 TIMES SOMETIMES TO GET IT TO START. IT JUST MAKES A CLICKING NOISE. ALSO THE JEEP COMMANDER WILL STALL WHILE DRIVING. (VERY DANGEROUS) ESPECIALLY WITH TWO KIDS. ANOTHER PROBLEM IS IT GETS STUCK IN LOW GEAR OR 4X4 (NOT SURE WHICH). THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V438000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); HOWEVER, THE PART TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
I HAVE HAD 3 DOOR HANDLES BREAK SINCE OWNING THIS VEHICLE. ALL OF THEM CRACKED BEHIND THE HANDLE, WITH 2 OF THOSE 3 ALREADY COMPLETELY BUSTED. AT THIS POINT THOSE 2 OF THE 3 HANDLES ARE IMPOSSIBLE TO OPEN IF YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO SIT THE HANDLE JUST RIGHT ON THE INSIDE EDGE. I'M CONCERNED ABOUT SAFETY. JEEP DEALERSHIP SAID THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THE HANDLE, AND WANTED $850/PER DOOR TO FIX! YOU CAN'T JUST REPLACE THE HANDLE, YOU HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE DOOR PANEL. THIS IS A MAJOR DESIGN FLAW ON JEEP'S PART, AND SHOULD BE FIXED. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS WELL. THE DEALER SAID THAT MY TRANSMISSION HAD A LEAK AND CHARGED ME TO REPLACE SOME PART. THEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN. THEN THEY SAID I NEEDED TO SERVICE THE TRANSMISSION. I AM SURPRISED THAT DEALER NEVER MENTION ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE JEEP COMMANDER ( I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST MY CAR) AS I HAVE CALLED SEVERAL TIMES ABOUT THE CAR SHIFTING INTO NEUTRAL, AND WONDERING IF IT WAS A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. WHILE DRIVING, I HAVE A TOTAL LOSS OF INTERIOR ELECTRICAL. ALL SYSTEMS GO OFF ALTHOUGH THE VEHICLE CONTINUES RUNNING. THIS AFFECTS THE STEERING AS WELL AS BRAKING. I WAS DRIVING 25 MILES AND HIT A BUMP. NOISE STARTING COMING FROM UNDER THE MIDDLE ROW SEAT. CHECKED UNDER THE CAR, COULD SEE NO ISSUES. BROUGHT IT TO 2 MECHANICS COULD NOT SEE PROBLEM. THE PLASTIC HOUSING ON INTERIOR DOOR LATCHES IS FAULTY. THE DRIVER SIDE REAR DOOR IS COMPLETELY INOPERABLE. IT MUST BE OPENED FROM THE OUTSIDE. THE FRONT TWO DOOR LATCHES ARE CRACKED AND BEGINNING TO LOOSEN. THE REAR DOOR WAS NOTED AS A SAFETY CONCERN BY A COWORKER DURING A WORK-RELATED TRIP. THE EMPLOYEE UNDERSTANDABLY REFUSES TO DRIVE IN THE VEHICLE GOING FORWARD. THE PROBLEM IS A SAFETY CONCERN AND AN EMBARRASSMENT WHEN CONDUCTING BUSINESS JUNCTURES. I ATTEMPTED TO GET THE FAULTY DOOR HANDLE REPAIRED ON 4/20/11, BUT RECEIVED DOCUMENTATION THAT THE PANEL ASSEMBLY IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE PLATINUM DEALERSHIP WARRANTY. THE OUT-OF-POCKET EXPENSE FOR ONE HANDLE IS OVER $500 AS THE ENTIRE DOOR PANEL MUST BE REPLACED. THE REPAIR WAS NOT COMPLETED. *JS
FRONT PASSEGER DOOR CLOSED ON MY WIFES HEEL AND SHATTERED THE DOOR HANDLE. I WAS SHOCKED THAT THE WEIGHT OF THE DOOR CLOSING ON ITSELF WOULD CAUSE THIS AND JEEP WILL NOT COVER THE COST AT $500+ A DOOR PANEL. NOW ITS BECOME A SAFETY ISSUE FOR ME, ESPECIALLY IF IT HAPPENS TO ALL MY DOORS. IF WE HAD A FIRE IN THE CABIN OF THE CAR, WE WOULD BE AT SERIOUS RISK OF BURNS OR EVEN DEATH. I KNOW I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE THIS IS HAPPENING TOO, THERE ARE MANY COMMANDER OWNERS REPORTING THE SAME ISSUES AND SAFETY CONCERNS. SINCE JEEP IS NOT STEPPING UP TO HELP, WHAT IS THE NHTSA DOING ABOUT IT? *JS
