FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED, I REFUELED MY VEHICLE ALL THE WAY TO FULL. I DROVE OFF AND GOT ON THE HIGHWAY ON-RAMP, WHILE I WAS ACCELERATING, THE CAR SHUT OFF, LOCKED UP THE STEERING AND THE ENGINE SHUT OFF WHILE THE CAR WAS STILL IN DRIVE, AND THE KEY WAS STILL IN THE IGNITION. I QUICKLY STOPPED THE CAR, PUT IT IN PARK AND RESTARTED THE CAR, GOT ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE INCIDENT DIDN'T OCCUR AGAIN. A FEW WEEKS LATER, THE SAME THING HAPPENED. I REFUELED UNTIL THE TANK WAS FULL, DROVE ABOUT 100 YARDS, AND THE CAR SHUT OFF WHILE STILL IN DRIVE WITH KEYS IN IGNITION AND THE STEERING LOCKED UP WHILE I WAS GOING AROUND A SHARP TURN. I COULD HAVE DIED IF ANOTHER CAR CAME AROUND THE TURN AT THAT TIME. I RESTARTED THE CAR AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN WITHIN 50 FEET. AFTER THAT, RESTARTING IT A SECOND TIME I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR WITHOUT IT HAPPENING AGAIN. SCARED TO REFILL THE CAR AGAIN. DURING EACH INCIDENT, NO WARNING LIGHTS OR INDICATION CAME UP ON THE DASHBOARD, THERE WAS NO WAY TO TELL WHAT WAS HAPPENING.

IN MY 2011 JEEP COMPASS THAT I PURCHASED FROM DAVE SYVERSON' S IN ALBERT LEA MINNESOTA IN 2015 HAS HAD NUMEROUS ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION STARTING IN LESS THAN A YEAR FROM THE PURCHASE DATE. THE FIRST TIME WAS WHEN I WAS COMING HOME, UP MY GRADUAL HILL, WHEN MY CAR STOPPED BEING ABLE TO DRIVE MORE THAN 10 MPH AND ALL OF MY GEARS WERE OUT UP (P, N, D, R). IT WAS "FIXED" BECAUSE MY WIRING TO MY TRANSMISSION WAS COMPLETELY CORRODED. NOT ONCE DID THE LEAPING OF MY CAR STOP, THE FEELING OF THE CAR PUSHING THROUGH GEARS ON IT'S IN WHILE IN MOTION. IN THE WINTER MONTHS I TOOK MY CAR IN TO HAVE THE LEAPING LOOKED AT, THE SHOP SAID THERE WAS NOTHING TO FIX. HOWEVER THIS JUNE I WAS DRIVING NORTH ON HIGHWAY 35 WHEN AN OIL TEMPERATURE GAUGE CAME ON. I STOPPED, HAD IT TOWED, THE SHOP I HAD TO GO TO CHECKED TRANSMISSION FLUID AND FILTER (AFTER I CALLED FIVE TIMES TO TELL THEM TO CHECK THESE THINGS) THEY SAID IT NEEDED REPLACED. I DROVE MY CAR TO THE JEEP DEALER AND IT WAS REPLACED AFTER TWO WEEKS OF NOT HAVING A CAR. MY CAR WAS GIVEN A PRETTY CLEAN BILL OF HEALTH. HOWEVER LAST NIGHT (JUNE 30TH, 2017) I WAS DRIVING HOME 8 MILES AND WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A RED LIGHT IT WAS LIKE I WAS STUCK IN NEUTRAL AND MY RPMS REVVED HIGH BUT I WAS GOING NO WHERE. I PULLED OVER AND LEFT MY CAR IN A SAFE SPOT. MY TRANSMISSION HAS CLEARLY STOPPED WORKING FOR WHATEVER REASON.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 CHEVROLET ASTRO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 3 MPH, THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE LOWER CONTROL ARM AND BALL JOINT FRACTURED WITH NO WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT APPROXIMATELY A YEAR LATER THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE LOWER CONTROL ARM AND BALL JOINT FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT RECENTLY WHILE DRIVING, AN ABNORMAL NOISE WAS HEARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SEVERAL DIFFERENT INDEPENDENT MECHANICS WHO STATED THE IDLE ARM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TIE ROD, IDLE ARMS, AND LINK BAR WERE REPLACED HOWEVER, THE NOISE CONTINUED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO WAS UNABLE TO REMEDY THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT INSPECTED THE UNDERCARRIAGE OF THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT A PIECE OF SHARP METAL WAS CUTTING INTO THE BALL JOINT RUBBER BOOT. THE CONTACT FOUND AN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 03V328000 (SUSPENSION) ONLINE WHICH COULD BE RELATED TO THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE CONTACTED BICAL CHEVROLET OF VALLEY STREAM (709 W. MERRICK RD, VALLEY STREAM, NY 11580) WHO CONFIRMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 250,000. *LN*JB*LN*JB*JB
RECALL HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED
FIRE STARTED SPONTANEOUSLY UNDER THE HOOD. UNABLE TO CONTROL OR STOP THE FIRE. MELTED EVERYTHING UNDER THE HOOD AND FIRE DEPARTMENT HAD TO BE CALLED. NO PRIOR WARNING THAT THERE WAS ANY ISSUE ELECTRICAL OR OTHERWISE.
RECALL FOR OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROLLER FAILURE WAS ANNOUNCED BY CHRYSLER OVER 2 YEARS AGO AND I RECEIVED A NOTICE IN THE MAIL OVER A YEAR AGO THAT MY 2011 JEEP COMPASS WAS INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL. THIS MEANS THAT MY SEAT BELT AND FRONT AIRBAGS MAY NOT DEPLOY IN THE CASE OF AN ACCIDENT, LEAVING ME AND MY FAMILY SUBJECT AT AN INCREASE FOR SEVERE INJURY OR FATALITY. I HAVE INQUIRED ABOUT A REPAIR AND WAS TOLD BY MY LOCAL DEALER, CAPITAL CHRYSLER, JEEP, DODGE THAT THE FIX HAD NOT BEEN RELEASED YET BUT THEY HAD SCHEDULED IT FOR A FIX OF THIS PROBLEM (4/4/17) WHILE IT WAS IN FOR ANOTHER ISSUE. THEY THEN TOLD ME THAT THE FIX HAD NOT BEEN RELEASED BY MOPAR, NOT THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. IT REQUIRES REPLACEMENT OF THE OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROLLER (ORC). IS THIS A PART THAT IS NOT AVAILABLE OR IS IT A COST FACTOR FOR CHRYSLER AT MY EXPENSE? THEN, I RECEIVED ON 4/15/17 A CARD IN THE MAIL MARKED "URGENT" FROM MOPAR (COPY ATTACHED). IT INDICATED THAT I HAD NOT GOTTEN MY CAR RECALL REPAIRED AND TO CONTACT MY DEALER IMMEDIATELY TO GET MY ORC REPLACED. I CONTACTED CAPITAL AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE PART HAD NOT BEEN RELEASED YET AND THAT THE CARD HAD BEEN MAILED TO ME FROM MOPAR. I THEN CALLED MOPAR ON 4/20/17 AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOT A FIX YET AND THAT THEY WOULD CONTACT ME WHEN THERE WAS. THIS DOES NOT MAKE SENSE. WHY DID I RECEIVE THE CARD IN THE MAIL AND WHY IS THERE SUCH A MIX UP. NOT THAT I AM PLANNING TO BE IN AN ACCIDENT BUT THIS LACK OF SAFETY RESTRAINTS REALLY FRIGHTENS ME AND COULD HAVE CATASTROPHIC CONSEQUENCES. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS ISSUE. I AM ATTACHING A COPY OF THE CARD, FRONT AND BACK, THAT I RECEIVED FROM MOPAR.
ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON. CAR LOOSES POWER AND CUTS OFF WHILE I AM DRIVING. CAR ONLY HAS 49,415 MILES ON IT. TOOK TO DEALER, CAPITAL CHRYSLER, JEEP, DODGE, AND THEY HAVE HAD IT FOR 2 DAYS. STATED CANNOT TRACE DOWN THE PROBLEM SO THEY WANT TO REPLACE THROTTLE BODY TO THE TUNE OF $700.00. IN RESEARCHING I HAVE FOUND THAT MANY JEEP OWNERS HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM AND EVEN WITH THE THROTTLE BODY REPLACED THE PROBLEM KEEPS HAPPENING AND MANY THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS HAVE BEEN POURED INTO TRYING TO FIX THIS ISSUE BUT IT KEEPS HAPPENING. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS TO BE IN TRAFFIC AND ALL OF A SUDDEN YOUR CAR EITHER CUTS OFF OR REDUCES SPEED TO ABOUT 25 MPH. IT IS LIKE THE GAS PEDAL AND THE MOTOR OR NOT COMMUNICATING. THIS APPEARS TO BE A DANGEROUS DEFECT IN JEEPS WITH THE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS THAT HAVE BEEN MADE. AND IF THAT WAS NOT BAD ENOUGH, THERE IS A RECALL ON THE AIRBAGS AND SEAT BELT MECHANISM (THEY WON'T DEPLOY IN AN ACCIDENT) AND THE RELEASE OF THE FIX IS BEING HELD UP UNTIL LATER THIS YEAR (AS LATE AS SEPTEMBER ACCORDING TO A TECHNICIAN AT THE DEALERSHIP). BOTH ISSUES NEED TO BE ADDRESSED BECAUSE BOTH COULD CAUSE FATALITIES AND THE ETC ISSUE IS COSTING CONSUMERS THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS.

ON THE REPORTED DATE MY 2011 JEEP COMPASS 2.4L 4X4 WAS REMOTE STARTED AND RAN FOR APPROXIMATELY 15-20 MINUTES BEFORE GETTING IN AND DRIVING OFF. THE ENGINE HAD WARMED UP ABOUT HALF WAY TO OPERATING TEMPERATURE. THE TEMPERATURE WAS 13 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT OUTSIDE. ONCE I LEFT AND PULLED OUT ONTO THE STREET THE TRANSMISSION THREW OUT 3 SMALL AND QUICK JERKS. THIS HAPPENED 3 MORE TIMES BEFORE GETTING ONTO THE INTERSTATE. THIS IS A BRAND NEW CVT LESS THAN A YEAR OLD. THE LAST CVT DID THE SAME SHUDDER IN THE COLD BEFORE IT BLEW OUT A MONTH LATER WITH 115,000 MILES ON IT (BARELY OUT OF WARRANTY). THE JEEP CVT SEEMS TO BE UNDER BUILT FOR COLD TEMPERATURES BECAUSE THE NEW TRANSMISSION ONLY HAS ABOUT 15,000 MILES ON IT AND IS DOING THE EXACT SAME THING. NOTE: I WAS BABYING THE THROTTLE TO GET UP TO OPERATING TEMPS WHEN THIS OCCURRED. *TR

HORN DOSE NOT WORK, BUT BELIEVE IT GOES DEEPER THAN JUST HORN ISSUE. I HAVE SEEN A TREND WITH THESE VEHICLES THRU NUMEROUS SOURCES SUCH AS INTERNET FORUMS ECT. BEING THAT THE HORN CAN BE CONSIDERED A SAFETY FEATURE.I THINK THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM IS A COMPUTER, ELECTRICAL OR A FUSE BOX ISSUE. TOOK VEHICLE TO JEEP DEALER YESTERDAY TO GET FIXED, CALLED LATER THAT DAY TO PICK UP VEHICLE SAID IT WAS FIXED, GOT HOME HORN DID NOT WORK.

TODAY, 4/20/2016, I HEARD WHAT SOUNDED LIKE METAL DRAGGING THE GROUND IN MY 2011 JEEP COMPASS. AFTER PARKING, I INSPECTED UNDER THE CAR TO FIND A METAL PIPE HANGING DOWN TO THE GROUND NEAR THE FRONT LEFT TIRE. I EASILY PULLED THE PIPE OUT, AND DISCOVERED IT IS THE CVT TRANSMISSION FILL TUBE. IT APPEARS THE TUBE ROTTED OFF FROM WHEREVER IT BELONGS. I HAVE FOUND MULTIPLE REPORTS OF THE SAME THING HAPPENING TO OTHER JEEP MODELS AS WELL, PARTICULARLY THE PATRIOT. WHILE I HAVE YET TO DETERMINE ANY DETRIMENTAL PERFORMANCE EFFECTS (IT JUST HAPPENED TODAY, AND I HAVE YET TO DRIVE IT AGAIN), THE TUBE COULD HAVE EASILY DISLODGED WHILE DRIVING AND STRUCK A CAR BEHIND ME, ENDANGERING THE LIVES OF OTHERS. MY JEEP ONLY HAS AROUND 40,000 MILES, AND HAS BEEN KEPT UP TO DATE ON ALL MAINTENANCE REQUIREMENTS. IF I HADN'T FOUND OTHER JEEP OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM, I WOULD HAVE CONCLUDED IT WAS CAUSED BY A MECHANIC DURING A RECENT OIL CHANGE. HOWEVER, BECAUSE I HAVE FOUND DOZENS OF OTHER COMPLAINTS (AND ALSO ASSUMING THERE ARE OTHERS WHO NEVER EVEN NOTICED THAT THE TUBE HAD ROTTED OFF), I FEEL THAT THE NHTSA SHOULD BE AWARE OF THE ISSUE, AND TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 JEEP COMPASS. WHILE PARKING, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS TURNED OFF AND THE HORN MALFUNCTIONED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL COMPASS MODULAR WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 JEEP COMPASS. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING STATE INSPECTED, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS EXCESSIVE CORROSION TO THE REAR SUBFRAME OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE INSPECTED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENTIRE SUBFRAME NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,000.
WHEN I DRIVE THE CAR DOWN THE ROAD THE EIC EMBLEM COMES ON AND THAN I START LOOSING SPEED FROM THE ACCELERATOR. IT STARTS SLOWING DOWN AND THAN IT WON'T GO AFTER THAT. HAVE TO PULL OVER OFF THE ROAD AND TURN CAR OFF.

THE SEAT BELT LIGHT INDICATOR WOULDN'T GO OFF WHEN NO SEAT BELT WAS ON EVEN AT SPEEDS OF 40+ MILES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO DEALERSHIP FOR A FIX AND WAS TOLD THEY COULDN'T FIND SUCH AN ISSUE. IT MALFUNCTIONS PERIODICALLY AND WILL NOT GO OFF AS TO NO SEAT BELT ON WHEN GOING 40+MILES OR LIGHT WILL COME ON BUT DINGING NOISE OR SOMETIMES NOTHING WILL COME ON. THERE HAS EVEN BEEN A FEW TIMES WHEN THE LIGHT COMES ON WHEN BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER BELTS ARE ON AND SECURE. CHRYSLER ISSUED A RECALL WITH NO FIX YET, BUT WILL NOT ISSUE RENTAL OR LOANER CARS AS THEIR IS NO SAFETY ISSUE??? .I WANT TO SAY ALL THE ISSUES STARTED ABOUT A YEAR AFTER I BOUGHT THE CAR, FIRST WITH THE VEHICLE LOCKING ME OUT OF THE CAR.THE SECURITY SYSTEM SEIZED AND I COULDN'T START MY CAR OR ANYTHING AND IT HAD TO BE TOWED AT ABOUT 9,000 MILES. MARKED BY AN AUDIBLE WHINE AND THE ILLUMINATION OF THE TRANSMISSION OVERHEAT LIGHT, THE CVT ON THE 2.4L 4-CYLINDER ENGINE IN THE 2011 JEEP COMPASS EXPERIENCES SIGNIFICANT AND DRAMATIC POWER LOSS. THIS IS ESPECIALLY PREVALENT AT SUSTAINED HIGHWAY SPEEDS CREATING A POTENTIALLY UNSAFE SITUATION. IF THE TRANSMISSION OVERHEATS TOO MUCH, THE VEHICLE WILL NOT MOVE UNTIL THE TRANSMISSION COOLS DOWN. THIS ISSUE FIRST HAPPENED ON MY 2011 JEEP COMPASS IN JULY 2014 AND WAS TEMPORARILY RECTIFIED BY JEEP. THEIR SOLUTION WAS TO REPLACE THE CVT TRANSMISSION FLUID. HOWEVER, THIS PROBLEM HAS RETURNED THIS SUMMER UNDER HIGHWAY USE, ESPECIALLY ON HOT DAYS. ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 12, MY FAMILY AND I EXPERIENCED NOT ONLY THE WHINE FROM THE CVT, BUT SIGNIFICANT POWER LOSS ON THE HIGHWAY. FORTUNATELY, HAVING EXPERIENCED THIS PREVIOUSLY, I WAS ABLE TO PULL THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOULDER ALLOWING THE TRANSMISSION TO COOL DOWN WITHOUT INCIDENT. CHRYSLER REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM DESPITE A PLETHORA OF EVIDENCE THAT THIS CVT TRANSMISSION IS DEFECTIVE. TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY AT A CONSTANT SPEED 65-70 MPH THE POWER TRAIN WAS MAKING A WHINING NOISE. AFTER 30 TO 60 MINUTES OF HIGHWAY TRAVEL IN 80 DEGREE WEATHER THE TRANSMISSION WARNING / OVERHEAT LIGHT CAME ON AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SLOW DOWN. I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND PUT THE TRANSMISSION INTO NEUTRAL AND LET THE ENGINE IDLE FOR ABOUT 15 - 20 MINUTES. THE TRANSMISSION WARNING LIGHT WENT OUT. AFTER 5 MINUTES I CONTINUED ON MY TRIP AT 60 MPH AND THE LIGHT DID NOT RETURN. THE VEHICLE DID EXHIBIT A SLIGHT ROUGH FEELING IN THE POWER TRAIN AND WAS NOT THE NORMAL SMOOTH ENGINE & SHIFTING.

THE HEAD REST STRUCK THE CONTACT'S NECK AND HEAD, CAUSING THE CONTACT TO SUFFER A DISLOCATED NECK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE HEAD REST PLASTIC BASE SEPARATED DUE TO DEFECTIVE PLASTIC. THE HEAD REST WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. I STARTED UP MY VEHICLE AND THE ETC LIGHT CAME ON, LET ME REMIND YOU THAT IT'S BEEN GOING ON AND OFF EVERY DAY, WELL, I PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE AND AS SOON AS I LET OFF THE BRAKE, MY CAR ACCELERATED TO 4 RPM'S AND I HIT THE BACK END OF A FAMILY FRIEND WHO WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVE WAY. I HAD THE BODY/MECHANIC SHOP TAKE A LOOK AT IT WHILE REPAIRING THE BODY, AND THEY HAD NO FOR SURE ANSWER. I HAVE HAD 5 DIFFERENT MECHANICS LOOK AT IT AND HAD MY CODES RAN MORE THAN ONCE. IT'S RIDICULOUS. THE ETC LIGHT IS ON CONSTANTLY. IT'S ALL A MATTER WHICH DAY ITS GOING TO ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN AND WHICH DAY ITS GOING TO LOSE POWER. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. I HAVE CALLED CHRYSLER MULTIPLY TIMES. MY ARGUMENT IS THE FACT THAT IT ISN'T SOMETHING THAT I HAVE DONE TO THE CAR. VEHICLE DASH RED LIGHTNING AND STABILITY CONTROL LIGHTS TURNED ON WITH WARNING CHIME UPON BRAKING AT THE TRAFFIC LIGHT ON THE FREEWAY OFF RAMP WHILE EXITING INTERSTATE 10. THIS WAS ACCOMPANIED WITH ROUGH ENGINE IDLE AND LACK OF POWER FOR ACCELERATING. TURNING THE ENGINE OFF FOR A MINUTE AND RESTARTING SEEMS TO CLEAR THESE WARNING LIGHTS AND VEHICLE OPERATES NORMALLY. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO NEAREST CHRYSLER SERVICE CENTER WITH DIAGNOSTICS COMPLETED AND THE MASS FLOW SENSOR REPLACED. ISSUE OCCURRED AGAIN THE FOLLOWING WEEK. I DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE SAME CHRYSLER SERVICE CENTER WITHOUT SHUTTING OFF THE ENGINE SO THAT THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN COULD READ THE ERROR CODES AND OBSERVE/DOCUMENT THE WARNING LIGHTS LIT IN THE DASH. A THIRD VISIT TO THE SAME SERVICE CENTER RESULTED IN THE REPLACEMENT OF THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE WHICH WAS COVERED UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY. ISSUE OCCURRED AGAIN WITHIN TWO WEEKS AFTER THE MOST RECENT SERVICE VISIT. I HAD MENTIONED TO THE SERVICE ADVISOR THAT I HAD ONE INCIDENT PRIOR TO THE INITIAL EVENT FOR THIS ISSUE OF BRAKING HARD WHICH MOST LIKELY ENGAGED THE ABS-ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM. THE SERVICE ADVISOR DID NOT SEEM TO BELIEVE THERE MIGHT BE A CONNECTION BETWEEN THIS INCIDENT AND THIS ISSUE. I ORDERED THE PART AND SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE TIPM REPLACED ON 9/9/2014. AFTER GETTING HOME FROM THE DEALERSHIP, I GOOGLE SEARCHED TIPM AND WAS DISGUSTED BY THE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS OF CHRYSLER, DODGE, AND JEEP VEHICLES WITH THIS ISSUE. CHRYSLER KNOWS ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND THEY NEED TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE FAULTY AND DEFECTIVE PART. THIS NEEDS INVESTIGATED AND A RECALL INITIATED. THE TOTAL REPAIR COST ME $979.45. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR A KNOWN ISSUE AFFECTING THOUSANDS OF OTHER CHRYSLER, DODGE AND JEEP VEHICLES. *TR
I BOUGHT THE CAR IN 2011. THE TRANSMISSION GOT BROKEN BEFORE THE CAR HAD 1000 MILES AND IT WAS COVERED BY WARRANTY WITH A NEW TRANSMISSION. A YEAR LATER I WAS DRIVING AND THE TRANSMISSION LIGHT TURNED ON AND THE CAR STOPPED RESPONDING. AFTER WAITING FOR ABOUT ONE HOUR, THE LIGHT WENT OFF AND I COULD DRIVE TO A DEALER. THEY DID NOT FIND "ANYTHING WRONG" WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND THEY DID NOT MAKE ANY REPARATION. A MONTH AGO THE SAME HAPPENED AFTER DRIVING FOR TWO HOURS. I LEFT THE CAR AT A DIFFERENT DEALER, AND AFTER HAVING MY CAR FOR THREE DAYS THEY TOLD ME THE SAME: "NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THE CAR" AND NO REPARATIONS WERE DONE. LAST SUNDAY I WAS DRIVING TO A DIFFERENT STATE, AND AGAIN AFTER 2 HOURS DRIVING, THE CAR STOPPED RESPONDING AND THE TRANSMISSION LIGHT TURNED ON. AFTER WAITING FOR 2 HOURS IN THE ROADSIDE I COULD FINALLY REACH MY DESTINATION. THERE IS DEFINITELY SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION OF THE CAR, AND IT SEEMS THAT CHRYSLER DOES NOT WANT TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR IT. MAYBE THEY ARE WAITING FOR ME TO HIT 100,000 MILES TO TELL ME THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS USELESS AND I HAVE TO PAY FOR A NEW ONE??? TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 JEEP COMPASS. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
TRANSMISSION OIL LIGHTS ALWAYS COME ON WHEN CAR DRIVES OVER 70 MPH AT LEAST 2 HRS IN HOT WEATHER. THEN CAR SLOW DOWN AND I HAVE TO PULL OVER TO LET IT COOL OFF. IT WILL DO IT 3-4 TIMES DURING A LONG TRIP. IT DOES EVERY SUMMER AND THE JEEP DEALER NEVER FOUND THE PROBLEM.
THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORS ARE SENDING FALSE INFORMATION TO THE COMPUTER. DEALER IS NOT ABLE TO FIND PROBLEM OR CORRECT. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE IT IS GIVING FALSE INFORMATION TO THE DRIVER AND HE/SHE MAY BE DRIVING WITH A TIRE THAT IS NOT PROPERLY INFLATED. *TR
