THE FIRST INCIDENT TOOK PLACE APPROXIMATELY ON THE ABOVE DATE. AS MY DAUGHTER, FRIENDS AND I WERE PULLING ONTO THE ROAD, I BUMPED THE KEY WITH MY KNEE AND THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF COMPLETELY. EVERYTHING WENT DEAD. I PUT IT IN NEUTRAL, TURNED THE KEY, STARTED IT, AND CONTINUED ON. IT HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES SINCE THEN, TWICE WITH MY DAUGHTER DRIVING. WE FOLLOWED THE RECALL POSTED BY CHRYSLER AND REMOVED EVERYTHING FROM THE KEY CHAIN, MOVED THE SEAT BACK, ETC. (THERE IS NO FIX OFFERED FOR THIS). THIS PAST SATURDAY NIGHT, 7/25/15, MY 18 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WAS RETURNING HOME FROM A FRIENDS HOUSE WHEN SHE SNEEZED AND AS SHE WAS RECOVERING AND RE-ADJUSTING, SHE BUMPED THE KEY AND SHUT THE CAR OFF. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, EVERYTHING IS CUT OFF. LIGHTS, BRAKES, GAUGES, EVERYTHING. BEING DARK, SHE COULD NOT SEE, COULD BARELY STEER, BRAKE, ETC. AND WAS BASICALLY "ALONG FOR THE RIDE". AS SHE WAS IN A LEFT TURN AT THE TIME, SHE PULLED THE WHEEL TO THE RIGHT TO TRY AND STAY ON THE ROAD AND NOT GO "BEYOND THE TURN" AND CRASH. BECAUSE THE BRAKES WERE NOT WORKING, SHE WAS GOING TOO FAST, MANAGED TO GET THE CAR GOING TO THE RIGHT BUT ENDED UP IN A SLIDE. THE CAR SLID SIDEWAYS AND THEN BACKWARDS, SLIDING OFF THE ROAD TO THE RIGHT SIDE AND ONTO A DRIVEWAY WHERE THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT WHEEL CAUGHT THE CULVERT UNDER THE DRIVEWAY, FLIPPING THE JEEP ONTO THE DRIVERS SIDE WHERE IT REMAINED AS IT SLID BACKWARDS FOR ABOUT 10 FEET, STOPPING IN A RESIDENTS YARD. THANKFULLY, MY DAUGHTER WAS ABLE TO CLIMB UP AND OUT THE PASSENGER WINDOW, UNHARMED, GO TO A HOUSE AND GET HELP. BECAUSE THERE IS NOT A "FIX" FOR THIS PROBLEM (CHRYSLER ADMITS THIS ON THE RECALL NOTICE), I AM OUT A VEHICLE BECAUSE OF A DEFECT THEY CAN NOT/WILL NOT FIX. BECAUSE OF THE YEAR MODEL AND MILEAGE, I ONLY CARRIED LIABILITY INSURANCE, SO THE DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE WILL EXCEED THE COST TO REPAIR. I FEEL CHRYSLER OWES ME THE REPLACEMENT COST.

WHILE SLOWING TO MAKE A TURN IN A LEFT TURN LANE, RIGHT KNEE CONTACTED THE IGNITION KEY CAUSING THE ENGINE TO SHUT DOWN. I WAS ALREADY BRAKING, SO CAME TO STOP, WITHOUT INCIDENT, AND RESTARTED THE ENGINE. CHRYSLER SENT US A NOTIFICATION OF RECALL SEVERAL MONTHS AGO AND INDICATED THAT THEY WOULD NOTIFY US WHEN PARTS WERE AVAILABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. A SUBSEQUENT NOTIFICATION SUGGESTED POSITIONING THE SEAT SUCH THAT IT WOULD KEEP THE KNEE FROM CONTACTING THE KEY. THIS IS AN ABSURD SUGGESTION BY CHRYSLER. IF I DO WHAT THEIR SUGGESTION SAYS, I MUST DRIVE WITH MY ARMS ALMOST FULLY EXTENDED, WHICH THEN MEANS THAT THE DRIVER IS NOT OPTIMALLY POSITIONED FOR THE AIR BAG PROTECTION. I THINK THAT THE US DEPT OF TRANSPORTATION NEEDS TO CALL CHRYSLER OUT ON THIS AND GET THE PROBLEM RESOLVED BEFORE SOME UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES OCCUR AS A RESULT OF THEIR TEMP FIX SOLUTION. *TR

I WAS NORTH BOUND ON 95 AND THE KEY TO THE VEHICLE WAS TAPPED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF. I WAS TRAVELING AT 70 MPH AND LOST ALL CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. I WAS ABLE TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY AND START THE VEHICLE. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE, AND I FEAR FOR MY LIFE WHEN I AM BEHIND THE WHEEL. DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR HANDLE CAME APART. REPLACED DOOR HANDLE. NOW THE TWO BACK SEAT DOOR HANDLES ARE COMING APART. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD IN THAT IF THERE IS AN ACCIDENT, THERE IS NO WAY FOR THE PASSENGERS IN THE BACK TO GET OUT. ESPECIALLY A PROBLEM IF THERE ARE CHILDREN SITTING IN THE BACK. IT NEVER SHOULD BE THAT ALL DOOR HANDLES ON A CAR COME APART.

ROARING ROAD NOISE WHEN DRIVING. NONE WHILE SITTING STILL. EVEN WITH NEW TIRES THE ROAR REMAINS. SOMETIMES IT IS SO LOUD IF TALKING TO SOMEONE IN THE VEHICLE, IT IS DIFFICULT TO HEAR THEM. SOMETIMES IT IS A SOFT ROAR.

MY 2005 GRAND CHEROKEE HAS ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS TURNED ITSELF OFF WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. THE LAST TIME THIS HAPPENED WAS AT NIGHT AND RAINING AND THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS, HEADLIGHTS AND EVERYTHING SHUT OFF FOR SEVERAL SECONDS WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. BECAUSE OF THIS A TRACTOR TRAILER PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF ME WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR AND WE WERE NEARLY KILLED. I HAD NO LIGHTS, WINDSHIELD WIPERS, THE BRAKES AND STEERING WERE VERY DIFFICULT ETC. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TODAY AND THEY STATED THAT THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS HOWEVER NO FIX FOR THE ISSUE AT THIS TIME?!?!?!?! THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE AS MY VEHICLE IS COMPLETELY USELESS, IT IS NOT WORTH MY FAMILIES LIVES TO TAKE THE CHANCE OF DRIVING IT.
WAITING FOR IGNITION SWITCH SWAP-OUT!

ABOUT EIGHT MONTHS AGO CHRYSLER CONTACTED ME VIA A LETTER INFORMING ME OF A RECALL FOR UNINTENDED CHANGES IN IGNITION SWITCH POSITION IN MY 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. I HAVE CALLED THEM THREE TIMES ALREADY SINCE I RECEIVED THE LETTER NOTICE WHEN WILL THEY FIX MY CAR. CHRYSLER SAID THAT SOON THEY WILL SEND ME ANOTHER LETTER ONCE THEY HAVE THE PARTS TO FIX MY CAR SO I CAN TAKE MY CAR TO GET REPAIRED AT THE DEALER. EIGHT MONTHS HAVE PASSED AND CHRYSLER HAS NOT CONTACTED ME TO FIX MY CAR. EVERYTIME I CALL THEIR RECALL HOTLINE ALL THEY SAY THEY WILL CONTACT ME NEXT MONTH AND NOTHING IS BEING DONE TO FIX MY CAR. THIS IS THE MAIN REASON I AM DISPUTING THIS ISSUE WITH THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION DUE TO NEGLECT BY CHRYSLER. I NEED HELP TO GET MY CAR FIXED. DRIVING MY CAR IS UNSAFE AND RISKFULL TO MY LIFE AND MY FAMILY.

THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES ARE ALL BROKEN BECAUSE JEEP DECIDED TO GO WITH THE CHEAP ROUTE INSTEAD OF USING QUALITY PARTS. THE DOOR HANDLES CRUMBLE WITH VERY LITTLE EFFORT AND MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO GET OUT OF THE CAR FROM THE INSIDE. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM BECAUSE IF THERE WERE AN ACCIDENT OR IF THE CAR WERE TO BECOME SUBMERGED, I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO OPEN MY DOOR FROM THE INSIDE AND I WOULD DIE. I'VE SEEN MANY COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER JEEP OWNERS ONLINE AND IT IS RIDICULOUS THAT A FACTORY DEFECTIVE PART LIKE THIS WOULD NOT BE RECALLED WHEN IT CAN CAUSE A SAFETY CONCERN LIKE THIS. *TR

I HAVE A JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LIMITED, 2005. THE REAR RIGHT DOOR HANDLE CRACKED AND UPON EXITING OF MY FAMILY MEMBER, THE HAND SIMPLY BROKE OFF. IN THE PAST WEEK, I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING A THREATENING TO BREAK OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR HANDLE. I AM THE ONLY ONE DRIVING MY JEEP AND I WORRY THAT WHEN I HAVE MY GRANDCHILD IN THE VEHICLE AND THE REST BREAK AS IT APPEARS THEY ARE THREATENING, EXITING THE VEHICLE WILL BE AN ISSUE. I HAVE CONTACTED BOTH THE DEALERSHIP IN MY TOWN AS WELL AS CHRYSLER REGARDING THIS ISSUE AND I WAS INFORMED THAT I WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE DOOR PANELS RATHER THAN THE ACTUAL DOOR HANDLES. THE DEALERSHIPS ARE KICKING THE CAN DOWN THE ROAD AND THIS IS DANGEROUS FOR THEM AS WELL AS THE CUSTOMERS. IN ADDITION TO THAT, WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS CAME ON. THE CONSUMER STATED IT WAS NOT AN ISSUE PRIOR TO THE RECALL WORK BEING DONE.
