THE DOOR HANDLES ON THE INTERIOR OF MY JEEP ARE VERY BRITTLE. 2 OUT OF 4 HANDLES ARE CURRENTLY BROKEN AS THEY ARE MADE ONLY OF PLASTIC. THIS IS A MAJOR ISSUE WITH MY VEHICLE AS IT POSES A SAFETY RISK. MANY PEOPLE ONLINE HAVE THIS SAME ISSUE, THIS NEEDS TO BE LOOKED INTO, I AM FEARFUL FOR MYSELF AND MY FAMILIES SAFETY IN THIS CAR.
DRIVER'S SIDE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE IS BROKEN AND DOES NOT WORK.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH AND EXITING A FREEWAY, THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO EXCEED 15 MPH. THE CONTACT VEERED TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD AND MANAGED TO DRIVE AT LOW SPEEDS TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE, BUT WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO JIM KOESTNER INC (218 N MAIN ST, PLAINWELL, MI 49080, (269) 685-6854) TO BE DIAGNOSED AGAIN, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V175000 (POWER TRAIN, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 131,000.
THE WARNING TO "SERVICE 4WHEELDRIVE" IS ON AND HAS NOW ON IT'S OWN ENGAGED 4LO AND WILL NOT DISENGAGE AT ALL
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING, THE ABS AND AIR BAG INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. IN ADDITION, THE ELECTRICAL BRAKE SYSTEM INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE BRAKES STARTED PULSATING, BUT THE CONTACT CONTINUED DRIVING WITH NO FURTHER ISSUES. THE CONTACT HAD NOT DRIVEN THE VEHICLE SINCE AND PARKED THE VEHICLE AT HER HOME. THREE WEEKS AGO, THE CONTACT WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH BECAUSE THE BRAKES SEIZED. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE SLID INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE AT APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH. THE FRONT BUMPER OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS CRACKED. THE DRIVER WAS NOT INJURED, BUT WAS TREATED BY A DOCTOR AFTER THE CRASH. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TOWED. THE CONTACT FELT THAT THE CRASH COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED IF THE BRAKING FAILURE WERE KNOWN OF BEFOREHAND. THERE WERE NO SYMPTOMS OF A BRAKING FAILURE BEFORE THE CRASH OCCURRED. THE MANUFACTURER RUDELY INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS OR WARRANTIES ON THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 142,000.
AT RANDOM TIMES WHILE DRIVING, WHILE IN PARK, AND JUST AFTER STARTUP, ALL DASHBOARD GAUGES, LIGHTS, AND POWER GOES OUT, HEADLIGHTS TURN OFF, BUT THE ENGINE STILL RUNS. I CANNOT SEE WHAT IS IN FRONT OF ME AT NIGHT, I CANNOT TELL MY SPEED, I CANNOT SEE MY FUEL LEVEL, ETC. THE OUTAGE LASTS FROM 2-30 SECONDS BEFORE EVERY SINGLE WARNING LIGHT WILL ILLUMINATE FOR A FEW SECONDS, OR FLICKER ON AND OFF, AND THEN RETURN TO NORMAL. I REPLACED THE IGNITION 2 YEARS AGO FROM A PREVIOUS RECALL NOTICE. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS BECAUSE I NEVER KNOW WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN, IT COULD HAPPEN AT NIGHT ON A HEAVILY TRAFFICKED STREET AND I LOSE ALL POWER AND LIGHTS!
TL* THE CONSUMER OWNS A 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE COBSUMER STATED THAT WHILE PULLING INTO THE DRIVEWAY, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY ACCELERATED AND CRASHED INTO THE GARAGE. AS A RESULT, THE CONSUMER'S VEHICLE DESTROYED ANOTHER VEHICLE THAT WAS PARKED IN THE GARAGE. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE CHEST AND ARMS. THE SEAT BELT FAILED TO RESTRAIN THE DRIVER AND THE FRONT DRIVER'S AND PASSENGER AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS RECEIVED. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 54,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. *AS
WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET LAST NIGHT, ALL LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD LIGHT UP AND THEN GO OFF AND MY GAUGES DON'T WORK, MY HEADLIGHTS AND TURN SIGNALS DON'T WORK, NOTHING WORKS IN THE INTERIOR. VEHICLE STILL RUNS, BUT ELECTRICAL STUFF DOESN'T WORK. COULD NOT USE A TURN SIGNAL TO GET OUT OF TRAFFIC AND OFF THE ROAD AND IT WAS DARK. THIS HAS HAPPENED MORE THAN ONCE AND I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE ANY DISTANCE OR TRIP. I TRY TO GET OFF THE ROAD AND TURN THE CAR OFF FOR A FEW SECONDS, TURN IT BACK ON AND THINGS GO BACK TO NORMAL EXCEPT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR THE ANTI LOCK BRAKE LIGHT MAY OR MAY NOT STAY ON FOR A DAY OR SO AND THEN IT WILL GO OFF. SO INTERMITTENT AND HAPPENS SO SUDDENLY WITHOUT WARNING. THIS WILL ALSO HAPPEN SOMETIMES WHEN I START THE VEHICLE AFTER IT HAS BEEN PARKED FOR A WHILE.

THE HEADLIGHTS AND DASHBOARD LIGHTS HAVE STARTED TO FLICKER ON AND OFF. NUMEROUS TIMES THE HEADLIGHTS AND DASHBOARD LIGHTS HAVE COMPLETELY TURNED OFF WHILE DRIVING OR EVEN WHILE PARKED/
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START IMMEDIATELY. ONCE THE CONTACT WAS FINALLY ABLE TO START THE VEHICLE, THE ENGINE REVVED ON ITS OWN. ONCE THE CONTACT PLACED THE VEHICLE INTO DRIVE, THE VEHICLE SURGED FORWARD ON ITS OWN. THE CONTACT HAD TO PLACE THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL IN ORDER TO REGAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. ONCE THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED, IT RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SAME FAILURE OCCURRED AGAIN WHILE TRAVELING 50 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO GAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE TO AVOID A CRASH. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR WAS ILLUMINATED AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURES; HOWEVER, THE WARNING INDICATOR WAS ASSOCIATED WITH ANOTHER FAILURE. THE CONTACT WORKED AS A MECHANIC; THEREFORE, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,663.
AUGUST 2018, I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE BACK FROM AUSTIN TEXAS TO EL PASO. BEFORE MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. NYLE MAXWELL JEEP ASSESSED AN EVAPORATIVE LEAK CODE. DICK POE JEEP IN EL PASO ASSESSED AND ATTEMPTED REPAIR TWICE. DICK POE DODGE FINALLY ASSESSED A CRACK IN THE FUEL TANK. CHRYSLER PAID FOR THE REPAIR.
ECM WAS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. CONNECTIONS WERE FAILING. DUE TO THIS ENGINE POWER WAS LOST WHILE RUNNING. AT TIMES WOULD JUST SHUT OFF. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AT TIME OF WIGGLING PCM BUT DON'T WANT TO FIND OUT IF THIS WOULD HAPPEN IF I HIT A ROUGH SPOT ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 75. PROBLEM IS MANUFACTURER IS NOT PRODUCING THESE COMPUTERS ANYMORE AND CAN'T FIND ONE ANYWHERE, ALSO CAN'T BE REPAIRED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH WITH THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL DEPRESSED, THE SPEED DECREASED. WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE HESITATED FORWARD WITH FORCE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ABS, TRACKER CONTROL, SERVICE ELECTRICAL BRAKING SYSTEM, AND SERVICE 4 WHEEL DRIVE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT CONTINUED DRIVING HOME AS THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT NO FAILURE CODE WAS FOUND. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKES, ROTORS, AND CALIPERS WERE REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. EVER SINCE I BOUGHT MY 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE THE PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT HAS CONSTANTLY BEEN ON. I THOUGHT WHEN SOMEONE SITS THERE IT'S SUPPOSED TO GO OFF! I HAVE READ MULTIPLE STORIES OF PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE. SOME HAVE EVEN BEEN PEOPLE THAT HAVE BEEN IN ACCIDENTS AND SEAT BELTS OR AIR BAGS DIDN'T WORK. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE THAT JEEP NEEDS TO FIX ASAP!
THE VEHICLE WILL NOT STAY STARTED. TOOK THE JEEP TO A DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THE PART THAT IS NEEDED WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL DECEMBER. PART IS CALLED SKIM MODULE. PART IS VIN SPECIFIC. IS THERE AN ALTERNATIVE? I USE THIS VEHICLE FOR WORK AND CANNOT BE WITHOUT A VEHICLE FOR 5 MONTHS. I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED TO HEAR CHRYSLER CANNOT REPAIR MY VEHICLE DUE TO A PART AVAILABILITY AND LENGTH OF TIME. I HAVING PURCHASING CHRYSLER PRODUCTS FOR 30 YEARS.
TAKATA RECALL. MY JEEP RANDOMLY AND FREQUENTLY LOSES CONNECTION WITH THE ELECTRONIC SHIFT MODULE, WHEN THIS HAPPENS IT GETS STUCK IN RANDOM GEARS AND IT WILL NOT MOVE FAST (SAFELY) WHEN I ACCELERATE UNLESS THE CAR IS RESTARTED BUT THEN IT'LL HAPPEN AGAIN ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AFTER. THIS HAPPENS ALMOST EVERY TIME I STOP, AND SOMETIMES HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS A WELL KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE 05-10 MODEL YEARS THAT JEEP HAS SWEPT UNDER THE RUG AND IGNORED FOR YEARS. IT HAS CAUSED DAMAGE TO MY CARS TRANSMISSION AND HAS MADE ME FEEL UNSAFE DRIVING MY VEHICLE.
FIRST OFF THE TRANSMISSION WASN'T SHIFTING RIGHT. I WAS LIKE IT WAS GETTING STUCK IN 2ND GEAR OR SOMETHING. THE RPMS WERE RAISING HIGH BEFORE IT WAS SHIFTING. THEN MY CHECK ENGINE CAME ON, TOOK IT IN TO GET A THE CODE READ CODE WAS P0700 AND P0562 AND P0750 SO WE CHANGED THE BATTERY, THE THROTTLE BODY AND HAD THE TRANSMISSION FLUID AND FILTERS CHANGED. STILL SAME PROBLEM. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS STILL ON WITH THE SAME CODE . TOOK IT TO A TRANSMISSION SHOP THEY SAID IT IS THE SOLENOID PACK. NOW I HAVE READ A LOT OF THE JEEP CHRYSLER FORUMS AND A WHOLE LOT OF THESE JEEPS HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSION. SO I WANT TO KNOW HOW YOU CAN SELL SUCH AN EXPENSIVE VEHICLE WITH SO MANY TRANSMISSION ISSUES. AND WHY THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL ON THESE TRANSMISSIONS. THIS IS A BIG SAFETY ISSUE!! I THINK YOU NEED TO FIX OR REPLACE THE TRANSMISSIONS IN THESE JEEPS!! A RECALL SHOULD BE DONE ASAP ON THESE TRANSMISSIONS!!! I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED IN CHRYSLER, DODGE AND JEEP. WHEN DRIVING OR SITTING STATIONARY ALL LIGHTS AND GAUGES GO OUT ON THE DASH BOARD. WAS TOLD IT WAS THE IGNITION SWITCH. I HAD THE IGNITION SWITCH RECALL PERFORMED. VEHICLE STILL RANDOMLY HAS THE SAME ISSUE. FM RADIO VERY BAD RECEPTION. NUMEROUS POSTINGS ON INTERNET ABOUT BOTH OF THESE ISSUES.

ALL OF THE DASH LIGHTS UP, FLASHES/FLUTTER/FLICKERS, RADIO SHUTS OFF, HVAC SYSTEM SHUTS OFF, BUT ENGINE STILL RUNS. THIS ONLY HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR IS ON, HOWEVER IT CAN HAPPEN WHILE IN MOTION OR IN PARK.. BUT I DO NOT SEE A PATTERN BEYOND THAT (LIKE WHEN IT RAINS OR IS HUMID). I HAVE TRIED TO MAKE IT HAPPEN BY JUGGLING MY IGNITION BECAUSE I KNOW THAT IS A THING, BUT THAT NEVER INITIATES THE PROBLEM. *TR
TOOK VEHICLE TO PEP BOYS TO CHECK DUE TO THE FACT I WAS HAVING TROUBLE TURNING KEY IN THE IGNITION AND IT CONTINUED TO GIVE ME PROBLEMS THEN THE KEY BECAME STUCK IN THE IGNITION. A LOCKSMITH HAD TO BE CALLED TO PEP BOYS TO FIX THE IGNITION. I HAD TO PAY $200. THEN IT WAS TOLD TO ME THAT I NEEDED A STARTER, WHICH TOTALED $644. WANTED TO KNOW IF I GET THIS MONEY REFUNDED TO ME. I HAVE RECEIPTS. AND ALSO A REPAIR DONE ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO RELATED TO THE RECALL.

"TAKATA RECALL" ALL 4 OF MY DOORS HAVE BROKEN HANDLES TO LET YOU OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE INSIDE. ALL PLASTIC HAS BROKEN. IT STARTED ABOUT A MONTH AGO ONE AT A TIME. IT'S A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE DO TO THE FACT THAN A PASSENGER OR ALL PASSENGERS MAY NOT BE ABLE TO EXIT DO TO THE FAULTY PLASTIC. FIRE, ACCIDENT OR WHATEVER THE REASON I'M NOT COMFORTABLE LETTING MY FRIENDS RIDE IN MY CAR AS WELL AS MYSELF. TAKATA RECALL CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CODE IGNITION POSITION SWITCH AND OTHER CODES KEEP POPPING UP. JEEP KEEPS STALLING AND LOSING POWER WHILE DRIVING.

THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. A FIRE REPORT WAS FILED. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED AND WAS NOT TOWED AWAY. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS ENGAGED AT APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE ERRONEOUSLY ACCELERATED TO SPEEDS ABOVE 90 MPH. THE VEHICLE SLOWED DOWN AFTER APPLYING THE BRAKES. WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS RELEASED, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED UNINTENDED ACCELERATION AGAIN. THE DRIVER FORCED THE TRANSMISSION INTO THE PARK POSITION TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 245,247.

2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE HAS ALL 4 INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES CRACKED AND BROKEN AND ARE UNUSABLE. THESE DOOR HANDLES ARE PRONE TO FAILURE. A SIMPLE SEARCH SHARES THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS OF CONSUMERS EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUES WITH THIS 05-09 MODEL VEHICLE. IN THE EVENT OF FIRE, CRASH, WATER INTRUSION, ETC. OF THE VEHICLE, INSIDE OCCUPANTS ARE UNABLE TO EXIT THE VEHICLE SAFELY, IF AT ALL. I AM LOOKING FOR SUPPORT IN REQUESTING CHRYSLER TO OFFER A RECALL AND CORRECTION FOR THIS SAFETY CONCERN.

AS I WAS LEAVING A SHOPPING CENTER ABOUT 40 MILES AWAY FROM MY HOUSE MY JEEP AND AS I ENTERED ONTO THE INTERSTATE THE JEEP ACTED LIKE I WAS HAVING A FLAT TIRE WITH THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKING AND GIVING ME A LOT OF VIBRATION AND THE FLOP FLOP SOUND YOU GET FROM A FLAT TIRE. I STOPPED AND GOT OUT BUT NO FLAT TIRE, LOOSE LUG NUTS OR ANYTHING I COULD FIND. PUT FLASHERS ON AND HEADED UP THE ROAD SLOWLY NOT GOING OVER 45 MPH. IT FINALLY QUIT AND I WAS ABLE TO INCREASE SPEED. IT CONTINUES TO HAVE THIS WOBBLE SOUND ALONG WITH THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKING OFF AND ON. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND THE ONLY THING MATCHED WHAT HAPPEN WAS THE JEEP DEATH WOBBLE. SOME VEHICLES HAVE HAD A RECALL ON THIS BUT I DON'T SEE ANY FOR MY YEAR.

THANKFULLY NO ONE AND NOTHING HAS BEEN HURT YET BECAUSE I HAD TIME TO THROW IT INTO NEUTRAL AND STAND ON THE BRAKE, BUT IT'S A MATTER OF TIME. SOMEONE WILL GET KILLED IF THIS ISSUE ISN'T FIXED SOON AS I ASSUME THERE ARE TONS OF THESE ON THE ROAD.

I JUST GOT MY JEEP BACK AFTER A $972.00 BILL. IS THIS SOMETHING THAT TYPICALLY GOES WRONG; HAVE OTHERS HAD ISSUES WITH THIS; WAS IT SAFE ETC.?

During times of heavy rainfall, contaminated transmission fluid will overflow and puddle underneath the vehicle. Transmission fluid has been analyzed at Blackstone Laboratories and provided results showing h2o being present in the fluid, with no traces of engine coolant. Transmission shutters and shifts hard, reaches excessive temperatures under moderate loads. Dealership and independent transmission shop both have acknowledged an issue with the transmission and a water contamination.
