TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE HOUSING ON ALL OF THE DOORS FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALER WHO CONFIRMED THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND NO REPAIRS WERE MADE TO THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 127,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE WENT INTO LIMP MODE. THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT AND THE ESP LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL DURING THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE'S SPEED THEN DECREASED FROM 30 TO 5 MPH. THE CONTACT MANEUVERED THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOULDER AND SHUT IT OFF. UPON RESTART, THE VEHICLE OPERATED AS NORMAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND THEY STATED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY WAS DIRTY AND NEEDED TO BE CLEANED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,350.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 55 MPH WHEN THE HEADLIGHT AND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS FAILED COMPLETELY. HE WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER AND CHANGED THE SETTINGS FOR THE HEADLIGHTS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 75,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
ALL OF THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE ARE BROKEN. ALL FOUR OF THEM WERE REPLACED ONCE. A FEW MONTHS AFTER BEING REPLACE THEY ALL BROKE ONCE AGAIN. SO NOW THE DOORS CAN ONLY BE OPENED FROM THE OUTSIDE, AND TO GET OUT OF THE CAR THE WINDOWS HAVE TO BE ROLLED DOWN TO OPEN WITH THE OUTSIDE HANDLE. THE JEEP DEALER WAS CALLED. THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WOULDN'T BE COVERED BY THE WARRANTY BECAUSE OF THE MILEAGE AND CALLED IT "WEAR AND TEAR". THIS IS A BIG ISSUE, MY PASSENGERS AND I CAN'T GET OUT OF MY JEEP UNLESS THE WINDOWS ARE DOWN AND REACH OUT OF THE VEHICLE TO OPEN WITH OUTSIDE HANDLE. IT IS ALSO HARD FOR ME TO DO AT TIMES BECAUSE I AM A PETITE WOMAN.
THE AIR BAG LIGHT TURNED ON SO I TOOK IT IN TO MACK MASSEY JEEP DEALERSHIP ON 950 CROCKETT ST.IN EL PASO, TX. THE PERSON ADVISING ME FROM THE MECHANICS DEPARTMENT TOLD ME I WAS VERY LUCKY TO TAKE IT IN WHEN I DID BECAUSE SOME PART HAVING TO DO WITH THE AIR BAGS HAD MELTED & MY AIRBAGS COULD HAVE OPENED UP AT ANY TIME. HE SAID HE DEACTIVATED ALL THE AIRBAGS IN MY VEHICLE. THE TOTAL TO HAVE THEM FIXED WAS WAY MORE THAN I CAN AFFORD. IT ALSO AFFECTED THE CENTER SEAT BELT SO I DON'T HAVE A SEAT BELT AS WELL. I DON'T THINK ANY PART OF THE ORIGINAL PARTS SHOULD BE MELTING WITH NOTHING MORE THAN THE SUN HEAT. *TR

THE CHECK ENGINE AND ABS WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED DURING THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,900 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 58,918.
INTERIOR PASSENGER DOOR HANDLE/PANEL IS TOTALLY BROKEN OUT. TRIED SEVERAL DIFFERENT METHODS OF SAVING IT FROM DOING SO, BUT TO NO AVAIL, IT IS TOTALLY GONE. HAVE READ SEVERAL ITEMS VIA THE INTERNET FOR ABOUT A YEAR NOT STATING THAT THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM BY JEEP DRIVERS, BUT JEEP HAS OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE ON THIS MATTER. I FEEL THAT THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE, AS TO ONCE YOU CANNOT OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE INSIDE, YOU PUT YOURSELF AT AN ENORMOUS RISK FOR GETTING SOMEONE STUCK INSIDE DURING A CRASH. *TR

FRONT DRIVER-PASSENGER SIDE DOOR PANELS. I RECENTLY DISCOVERED THAT MY FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOOR PANELS HAVE CRACKED AROUND THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE. THE CRACKS HAVE PROGRESSED TO THE POINT WHERE THE DOOR HANDLES DISLODGED FROM THE PANEL FROM REPEATED USE. THE COST OF EACH PANEL IS $770.00, EXCLUDING LABOR. THE DEALER WHERE PURCHASED STATED "THERE IS NOTHING WE CAN DO ABOUT IT." WHAT'S DISCONCERTING IS THAT THE BACK OF PANEL SHOWS REINFORCEMENT (THICKER PLASTIC) FOR THE WINDOW BUTTONS BUT THE MATERIAL IS PAPER-THIN FOR THE DOOR HANDLE. ONCE THE DOOR HANDLE FALLS OFF, THE ONLY WAY TO OPEN THE DOOR IS TO ROLL DOWN THE WINDOW AND PUSH THE EXTERIOR BUTTON. I HAVE FILED A COMPLAINT WITH CHRYSLER. *TR
INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES ARE MADE WITH MATERIAL THAT DO NOT SUPPORT THE NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. CLEARLY A SAFETY HAZARD TO BE RIDING A VEHICULE, WHETHER AS THE DRIVER OR PASSENGER, AND IF AN EMERGENCY CALLS FOR YOU TO ABANDON IT, AS YOU PULL THE HANDLE TO OPEN YOUR DOOR THE HANDLE BRAKES IN YOUR HAND AND CANNOT OPEN THE DOOR. IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY, WE ARE TALKING, NOT ABOUT MINUTES, BUT SECONDS TO REACT AND MOVE AWAY FROM DANGER. FAILURE TO OPEN, COULD REPRESENT THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MINUTES AND SECONDS THAT COULD PREVENT MAJOR INJURY IF NOT DEATH IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT. *TR

PLASTIC FRAMING AROUND FRONT AND REAR PASSENGER INSIDE DOOR HANDLES CRACKED AND DISINTEGRATED, LEAVING DOOR HANDLES UNUSABLE. PASSENGERS CANNOT EXIT THE VEHICLE WITHOUT DOOR BEING OPENED FROM OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. *TR

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FAILURE WOULD OCCUR SPORADICALLY AND THAT SHE HAD TO WAIT SEVERAL MINUTES BEFORE SHE COULD RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE ECM WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 128,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
MY CAR ENGINE SHUT OFF AFTER DRIVING 0.1 MILES OUT OF THE ALLEY IN 2012 AND AGAIN IN 2013 AFTER APPROXIMATELY 1 MILE DRIVEN AND IT SHUT OFF. I WAS ABLE TO RESTART IN NEUTRAL, BUT OF COURSE LOST ALL POWER STEERING AND BRAKES UNTIL IT COULD RESTART. I THOUGHT IT WAS A COLD ENGINE, HOWEVER I RECEIVED A RECALL FROM CHRYSLER 9/3/2014 AND ASKED THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH BE REPLACED. IT IS NOW 1 YEAR AFTERWARD AND THEY STILL HAVE NO PARTS TO REPAIR, ONLY SUGGEST THAT I USE A SINGLE KEY. HONESTLY, THIS COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH WORSE, IT IS TIME TO HAVE IT REPAIRED, BUT APPARENTLY THEY CAN'T MANUFACTURE THE PARTS IN 12 MONTHS.

THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CONTACTED AND NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND WAS DECLARED AS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. I WAS DRIVING THE 2005 GRAND CHEROKEE THAT WE PUCHASED AND ON THE SECOND DAY AFTER PURCHASING THE CAR AT 80,000 MILES THE INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR LIGHTS STARTED FLICKERING ON AND OFF AND ALL THE EMERGENCY LIGHT WOULD COME ON. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER WE PURCHASED FROM TOLD THEM ABOUT THE PROBLEM, SO THEY RAN A DIAGNOSTIC ON IT AND DROVE IT AND COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG. NOW RECENTLY THE PROBLEM STARTED TO WORSEN AS MY WIFE DRIVES THE CAR AT NIGHT WITH OUR 3 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER IN THE VEHICLE THE LIGHT ARE FLICKERING ON AND OFF THEN COMPLETELY GOING BLANK AND NOT COMING BACK ON. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE AND DANGEROUS TO HAVE A VEHICLE THAT THE HEADLIGHTS GO OFF WHEN NEEDED ESPECIALLY DRIVING DOWN THE DARK ROADS OF TEXAS. SOMETHING ABSOLUTELY NEEDS TO BE DONE IMMEDIATELY ABOUT THIS PROBLEM, EVERYTIME I TAKE THE VEHICLE TO SHOP CANT EVER FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THIS ISSUE IS PUTTING MY FAMILY AND OTHER FAMILY'S AT DANGER. WE DEPEND ON OUR VEHICLE TO BE RELIABLE AND SAFE. I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE EXPERIENCING THIS PROBLEM AND THAT IT WAS AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM BUT IT IS OBVIOUSLY A DEFECT ON THESE 2005 VEHICLES. MY VEHICLE IS NOW AT 90,000 MILES AND THE ISSUES HAVE GOT WORSE. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS IMMEDIATELY BEFORE IS RESULTS IN A FATALITY. *TR

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 52,000.

IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE WOULD ALSO STALL SPORADICALLY AND WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES ARE DEFECTIVE. THE PLASTIC SURROUNDING THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES HAS BECOME BRITTLE AND BROKEN ALLOWING PIECES TO FALL INSIDE THE DOOR. THIS BREAKAGE HAS RENDERED THE DOOR HANDLES INOPERATIVE AND PREVENTS THE DOOR FROM BEING OPENED FROM THE INSIDE. IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT THE OCCUPANTS OF THE VEHICLE WOULD BE TRAPPED INSIDE, ESPECIALLY IF THE POWER WINDOWS ALSO BECAME INOPERATIVE. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT ALL THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES EXCEPT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR HANDLE WERE FRACTURED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SUN ROOF WOULD LEAK WHENEVER IT RAINED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BE INSPECTED AND WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ROOF NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THERE WAS MOLD AND MILDEW FROM THE WATER LEAKAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.

THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WAS A MANUFACTURER'S RECALL FOR THE TRANSMISSION TUBE OIL SEAL BUT THE RECALL COULD NOT BE PERFORMED DUE TO AN EXTENSIVE BACK LOG. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REPAIR HAD EXCEEDED A REASONABLE TIME FRAME. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 94,000.
FROM THE MANY FORUMS I HAVE RESEARCHED, THIS IS NOT THE FIRST COMPLAINT ABOUT FAULTY DOOR HANDLES IN THE 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. ALL FOUR OF MINE HAVE CRACKED AND LARGE CHUNKS OF THE INSIDE OF THE "CUP" HAVE FALLEN OFF INTO THE DOOR PANEL. ONE OF THE DOORS IN JUST ABOUT INOPERABLE BECAUSE OF THE LOCATION OF THE CRACK AND I KNOW ITS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THE REST OF THEM FOLLOW. AS A MOTHER OF 2 CHILDREN, IT SCARES ME TO THINK THAT THEY COULD BE STUCK INSIDE OF A VEHICLE THAT COULD HAVE BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. TO ME, THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THE COMPANY TO NOT ISSUE A RECALL ON THE PARTS, AS THEY WILL SOONER OR LATER BE LOOKING DOWN THE LINE OF A HUGE CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT FOR SOMEONE LOSING A PASSENGER OR THEIR OWN LIFE DUE TO BEING UNABLE TO OPEN THEIR DOOR. IMAGINE A CAR ROLLING OVER AND CATCHING FIRE. AS QUICKLY AS THAT COULD GO UP IN FLAMES IN ONLY A MATTER OF SECONDS, WHAT COUNTS ARE THE MOMENTS THAT PERSON IS FIGHTING WITH GETTING A DOOR OPEN, OR IN A VEHICLE WITHOUT HAVING TO FIGHT AND SAVING A LIFE OR 5, AS THIS IS A 5 PASSENGER CAR. I WOULD STRONGLY SUGGEST THAT THIS BE SERIOUSLY CONSIDERED AND PRESSURE BE APPLIED TO THE MANUFACTURERS OF JEEP TO ISSUE A RECALL FOR ALL VEHICLES WITH THAT TYPE OF DOOR HANDLE. *TR
THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES ON THE 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE WK HAS ALL BROKEN. MOST OF THE HANDLES IN MY VEHICLE ARE STILL IN WORKING ORDER, BUT ONE IN PARTICULAR IS BROKEN AND SOMEONE SITTING ON THAT SIDE CANNOT GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE FROM THE INSIDE. IF THERE IS AN ACCIDENT THEY COULD BE STUCK INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THESE HANDLES ARE POORLY DESIGNED, AND THE OTHERS WILL LIKELY BREAK ENTIRELY IF NOT USED GINGERLY. *TR
MY 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE HAS A DEFECT THAT INCLUDES ALL OF THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES BRAKING FROM REGULAR USE. THIS PROBLEM IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN AS ANYONE INSIDE THE VEHICLE CANNOT EXIT THE VEHICLE IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY. FURTHER MORE, CHILDREN AND OR ADULTS MAY ACCIDENTALLY CUT THEMSELVES ON THE SHARP BROKEN PLASTIC EDGES OF THE BROKEN HANDLE. IN ORDER TO REPLACE THE HANDLES I HAD TO ORDER A NEW DOOR PANEL, YET AFTER ONLY 6 MONTHS THE HANDLE WAS BROKEN AGAIN. THIS IS NOT AN ISSUE RELATED TO MY JEEP ONLY, WITH A LITTLE RESEARCH ITS EASY TO FIND THOUSANDS OF OTHER PEOPLE WITH THE VERY SAME PROBLEM I AM EXPERIENCING WITH ANY JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE FROM 2005-2010. *JS
INTERIOR, FRONT, RIGHT AND LEFT DOOR HANDLES INOPERABLE DUE TO PLASTIC MOUNT BREAKING. MAKE EGRESS WITH WINDOW UP IMPOSSIBLE. OUR SIDE DOOR HANDLE MUST BE USED TO EXIT VEHICLE. *TR
APPROX. 2012, THE CASING THAT THE INSIDE DOOR HANDLE SITS ON CRACKED AND BROKE APART; AND, AS A RESULT, THE DOOR COULD NO LONGER BE OPENED FROM THE INSIDE BECAUSE THE HANDLE WAS NO LONGER SECURED AND JUST HANGED. I NOTICED APPROX. A YEAR AGO THAT THE HANDLE'S CASING WAS CRACKED ON BOTH THE BACK DRIVER AND FRONT PASSENGER SIDES. SINCE, THE BACK DRIVER'S SIDE HAS BROKEN AND THE DOOR CANNOT BE OPENED FROM THE INSIDE. I JUST NOTICED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE IS ALSO CRACKED AND WITH TIME IT WILL ALSO BREAK AND THE DOOR CAN NO LONGER BE OPENED. THIS IS A DANGEROUS BECAUSE ONCE THE CASINGS BREAK IT DOES NOT ALLOW ANYONE TO EXIT FROM THE VEHICLE. I AM IN AWE THAT THE ISSUE HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED WHEN MANY OTHERS HAVE THE SAME SAFETY CONCERN. THIS IS NOT A MATTER OF WEAR AND TEAR BECAUSE VERY SELDOM DOES ANYONE SIT IN MY BACK SEATS. NO DESIGN OR DEFECT SHOULD COMPROMISE THE HANDLE WHERE A PASSENGER IS NOT ABLE TO EXIT A CAR. *TR

THE LEFT REAR DOOR HANDLE HAS BROKEN OFF. I OPEN THE DOOR TO PLACE AN ITEM IN THE BACK SEAT AND NOTICED THE DOOR HANDLE LAYING INSIDE THE DOOR. THE HANDLE ITSELF IS IN TACK BUT THE PLASTIC SURROUNDING WHERE THE HANDLE ATTACHES WITH THE DOOR WAS BROKEN. THERE WAS NOT TRAUMA, HEAVY OR EXTENSIVE USE PLACED ON THE DOOR (INSIDE OR OUT). WHEN RESEARCHING POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS TO MY PROBLEM, I BECAME OVERWHELMED BY HOW MANY OTHER OWNERS WERE DEALING WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. I CALLED A COUPLE OF DEALERS AND WAS FLOORED BY THE COST TO FIX THE SITUATION AND ATTEMPTING TO USED A DOOR FROM THE JUNK YARD IS NOT A SOLUTION DUE TO THE PROBLEM APPEARING TO BE UNIVERSAL TO THIS VEHICLE. MY CONCERN IS THAT I NOW HAVE A VEHICLE WHERE ONE DOOR CAN ONLY BE OPENED FROM THE OUTSIDE CREATING A SAFETY ISSUE. ON AN UPSIDE, I AM THANKFUL AFTER READING OTHER PEOPLES SITUATIONS THAT I ONLY HAVE ONE DOOR AFFECTED, BUT NOW I AM ON EDGE AND CAUTIOUS THAT MY OTHER DOORS WILL SOON FOLLOW SUIT. *TR
THIS IS ABOUT MY 4 DOOR HANDLES IN MY JEEP THEY HAVE ALL CRACKED. ONE ON THE PASSENGER FRONT SIDE IS ALMOST NOT USUABLE. MY WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER IT, I TRIED TO CALL MULTIPLE CHRYSLER PLACES, THEY CAN'T HELP ME. MY DEALERSHIP HAS QUOATED ME OVER $2500. I BEGAN TO NOTICE SOME UNEXPLAINED ACCELERATION AND DECELERATION. WHILE DRIVING, WHEN THE VEHICLE SHOULD DOWNSHIFT, I COULD FEEL A BUMP AND NOTICEABLE HESITATION. THAT GRADUALLY WORSENED TO BECOME MAJOR FLUCTUATIONS IN THE RPM WHILE BOTH ACCELERATING AND DECELERATING. FOR INSTANCE, WHILE STEADILY ENGAGING THE GAS PEDAL TO ACCELERATE, THE VEHICLE SOMETIMES FEELS JUMPY, DOES NOT ACCELERATE SMOOTHLY, AND IF YOU LOOK AT THE RPM'S THEY JUMP UP AND DOWN BY 500 - 1000 RPMS. ALSO, WHILE COASTING TO A STOP, WHEN I AM NOT BRAKING BUT JUST ALLOWING THE VEHICLE TO ROLL TO THE STOP FROM SAY 45 MPH, THE SAME JUMPING OCCURS WITH THE RPMS. THIS SOMETIMES CAUSES THE CAR TO LURCH FORWARD IF THE RPMS FLARE AT A NEAR STOP, AND ONCE, AS I WAS PULLING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY, I STOPPED AT THE BOTTOM OF THE DRIVE BUT THE ENGINE FLARED AND PUSHED THE CAR OUT ONTO THE ROADWAY BY ABOUT A FOOT. EVENTUALLY, THIS RPM ISSUE BEGAN CAUSING STALLING. WHEN I WOULD STOP AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, THE ENGINE WOULD JUMP, AND THEN THE RPMS WOULD DROP TO ZERO AND THE ENGINE WOULD STALL. SOMETIMES AFTER JUST A FEW ATTEMPTS I COULD RESTART. TWICE I NEEDED TOWED. MY REGULAR MECHANIC WAS ABLE TO REPLICATE THE STALLING AND SAW AND FELT THE RPM FLARES. HE FOUND NO MECHANICAL ISSUES AND SUGGESTED IT WAS A COMPUTER ISSUE AND DIRECTED ME TO A DEALERSHIP. 2 DEALERSHIPS COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG AND SENT ME AWAY WITH NO FIX. SO, MY REGULAR MECHANIC DID A COMPUTER RESET WHICH SEEMED TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM TEMPORARILY. RESET WAS AT 66,000 MILES. NOW AT 72,300, PROBLEM IS AGAIN BECOMING PRONOUNCED. I AM GETTING NOWHERE WITH THE DEALERSHIPS AND I'M HONESTLY FRIGHTENED DRIVING THIS CAR. I CANNOT TRUST THE CAR TO ACCELERATE OR DECELERATE PROPERLY AND I CAN'T BE SURE THE ENGINE WON'T STALL IN TRAFFIC. *TR

INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES BREAK ALL 4 DOOR HANDLES HAD CRACKS IN THE PLASTIC BACKING WHEN I GOT THE VEHICLE IN 2012. FIRST, THE REAR DRIVER DOOR HANDLE BROKE AND THE MECHANIC WANTED $850 TO FIX IT SINCE THE PLASTIC BACKSPLASH IS PART OF THE WHOLE DOOR PANEL. WITHOUT THE PLASTIC BACKSPLASH, THE HANDLE DOES NOT WORK. SO, I HAVE TO OPEN THAT DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE FOR MY KIDS. NOW THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR HANDLE HAS A HOLE AND IS ALMOST TO THE POINT OF BREAKING. THIS IS A 5.7 HEMI ENGINE WITH 62200 MILES. I HAD DRIVEN INTO A 7-11 PARKING LOT AND ALMOST CAME TO A HALT DECIDING WHETHER TO PARK ON THE RIGHT OR LEFT. DECIDED TO PARK ON THE RIGHT. CAR WAS AT AROUND 2 MILES PER HOUR, LIFTED MY LEG OFF THE ACCELERATOR TO HIT BRAKE, WHEN THE CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATED, CLIMBED OVER THE SIDEWALK, SLICED AND FELLED A TREE AND RAMMED INTO A LAUNDROMAT. BRAKE WAS APPLIED TO THE POINT OF LITERALLY STANDING ON IT WITH WHOLE BODY WEIGHT BUT CAR DID NOT RESPOND. FINALLY THE CAR CAME TO A HALT ALTHOUGH ENGINE WAS MAKING REVVING SOUNDS FOR A FEW MORE SECONDS. LUCKILY NOBODY WAS INSIDE THE LAUNDROMAT. AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY EVEN THOUGH THE FRONT WAS BADLY DAMAGED. POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. COP WAS ALSO SURPRISED AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY FOR THIS HARD A CRASH. THE CAR HAS BEEN OWNED BY ME SINCE NEW FOR 7 YEARS AND THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED. INSURANCE SENT A SPECIAL TECHNICIAN TO CHECK, BUT NOTHING COULD BE FOUND. THE PLASTIC DOORS, WHICH ENCLOSES THE DOOR HANDLES FOR THE PASSENGERS, HAVE CRACKED AND BROKEN OFF, RENDERING THE DOOR HANDLES INOPERABLE, THIS INHIBIT THE EXIT OF OCCUPANTS FROM THE VEHICLE.
