TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE PARKED THE CONTACT NOTICED THE PLASTIC THAT HOLDS THE DOOR HANDLE WITHIN THE INTERIOR WAS DETERIORATING ON BOTH THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE DOORS. THE CONTACT STATED THE DOOR COULD NOT BE OPENED FROM INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE DOORS NEEDED TO BE OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE IN ORDER TO EXIT THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING BUT HE WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENTIRE DOOR PANEL NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
ALL 4 INTERIOR DOOR OPENING HANDLES BREAKING/FAILING: BOTH REAR DOORS TOTALLY INOPERABLE. ***THIS IS A DANGEROUS SAFETY ISSUE HANDLES ARE INOPERABLE IN EMERGENCY SITUATIONS, PASSENGERS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO EXIT THE VEHICLE, LIKELY CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH!*** MANUFACTURER REFUSES TO AND REPLACE/REPAIR HANDLES IS PROHIBITIVELY EXPENSIVE! I OWN A 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE AND ALL MY INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES ARE BREAKING,I HAVE THREE SMALL CHILDREN AND I AM CONCERNED THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE IF ANYTHING WERE TO HAPPEN. *TR
MY VEHICLE HAS 40,000 MILES, IMMACULATE CONDITION EXCEPT FOR THE DOOR HANDLES AND THEIR STRUCTURES AROUND THEM. THE DRIVERS DOOR IS BARLEY EXCITABLE. SOMETIMES I HAVE TO ROLL THE WINDOW DOWN TO GET OUT.(HOW EMBARRASSING, TO BE A TOP OF THE LINE, SHOWROOM QUALITY; STILL ; VEHICLE). WE BOUGHT IT NEW IN NOVEMBER 2004. HAVE BEEN SO HAPPY WITH IT UNTIL 2 MONTHS AGO. THE PASSENGER AND REAR PASSENGER HANDLES ARE CRACKED AS WELL. PLEASE HELP ME, I'M JUST SICK ABOUT IT. *TR
MY 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LIMITED WILL SPORADICALLY LOSE A PORTION OF ITS ELECTRICAL POWER. IT CAN BE RESTORED BY STOPPING THE VEHICLE AND RESTARTING THE ENGINE. IT NEVER LOSES THE RADIO NOR THE "P,R,N,D" ON THE ODOMETER, BUT IT ALWAYS LOSES THE REMAINDER OF THE ODOMETER, THE TURN SIGNALS AND THE HVAC SYSTEM. THE JEEP DEALER IS UNABLE TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. *TR
THE DRIVER SIDE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE BEGAN TO CRACK, FOLLOWED BY THE OTHER THREE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES. I CAN BARELY OPEN ANY OF THE DOORS FROM THE INSIDE AT THIS POINT. I FEAR THAT VERY SOON, I WON'T BE ABLE TO OPEN ANY OF THE DOORS FROM THE INSIDE AT ALL RENDERING MY VEHICLE USELESS. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A FACTORY DEFECT THAT I COULD NOT HAVE CAUSED BY MYSELF. THE DOOR HANDLES ON MY VEHICLE SHOULD NOT BE FALLING APART AFTER ONLY SIX YEARS. THE POOR QUALITY OF THE PLASTIC USED TO MAKE THE DOOR PANELS IS CLEARLY THE PROBLEM. I CANNOT AFFORD TO REPLACE ALL FOUR DOOR PANELS ON MY OWN, NOR DO I FEEL THAT I SHOULD TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR COST. I AM EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED AND UPSET BY THE DISAPPOINTING QUALITY OF THE VEHICLE AND THE CURRENT STATE OF THE ECONOMY IS NOT MAKING THINGS EASIER FOR ME. *TR
ALL 4 OF MY INTERIOR DOOR MECHANISMS ARE BROKEN. I'M ABLE TO STILL OPEN MY FRONT PASSENGER AND DRIVER DOORS, BUT THE REAR DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOORS HAVE TO BE OPENED FROM THE OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. I HAVE FILED 2 CLAIMS WITH MY INSURANCE COMPANY TO ATTEMPT TO GET THEM REPLACED (SAFETY HAZARD), BUT WAS DECLINED. I'VE ALSO CONTACTED THE CHRYSLER CORPORATION AND WAS TOLD THAT SINCE MY VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY THAT THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I WOULD THINK THAT SINCE THERE HAVE BEEN SO MANY COMPLAINTS ON THE DOOR MECHANISMS BEING SO FRAGILE, THAT THEY WOULD RECALL THEM AND REPLACE THEM. THE REAR DOORS WHERE THE FIRST ONES TO BREAK, THEN THE FRONT PASSENGER AND AS OF 4/02/13 THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE BROKE. I'VE ALWAYS HAD A JEEP OF SOME KIND AND THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED TO ME AND IF THE CORPORATION DOESN'T STEP UP AND CORRECT THIS MATTER, I WILL HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO NEVER PURCHASE A JEEP PRODUCT AGAIN. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 2 MPH, THE VEHICLE SURGED FORWARD UNTIL CRASHING. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THE DRIVER WAS REPORTED INJURED. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ALSO APPEARED ON THE SCENE DUE TO SMOKE EMITTING FROM THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT EXAMINED FOR THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
DOOR HANDLES FALLING OFF DUE TO A SUPPLIERS DEFECTIVE PLASTIC RESIN MIX. IN CASE OF A FIRE OR CRASH A PASSENGER OR DRIVER MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE AND DIE FROM THIS DEFECT. THIS IS A 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LIMITED. *TR
2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LIMITED (5.7L): INTERIOR PLASTIC HOLDING DOOR HANDLES HAS BEEN CRACKED FOR QUITE SOME TIME AND NOW THEY ARE BROKEN. I AM THE SOLE OWNER OF THE VEHICLE (I'M SINGLE, NO KIDS) AND MY REAR DOOR HANDLES HAVE RARELY EVER BEEN USED, YET THEY ARE COMPLETELY BROKEN NOW. APPARENTLY THIS IS A VERY COMMON TREND AMONG THESE 2005-2008 JEEP MODELS AND THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AS REAR PASSENGERS ARE UNABLE TO EXIT THE VEHICLE FROM THE INSIDE. THE STEPS TO REPAIR A SIMPLE DOOR HANDLE AND CRACK REQUIRES THE ENTIRE PANEL TO BE REPLACED, AT $400+ EACH. THESE DEALER REPLACEMENT PARTS ARE ON NATIONAL BACK-ORDER DUE TO THE EXTREME AMOUNT OF CASES WITH THIS. *TR
I OWN A 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE AND MY DOOR HANDLES ARE BREAKING OFF ON THE INSIDE. I DO NOT HAVE CHILDREN SO THEY ARE NOT ABUSED IN ANY WAY. THE MATERIAL IS A CHEAP PLASTIC AND THE HANDLES ARE BARELY HANGING ON BOTH FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOORS. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. I HAVE ALSO SEEN SEVERAL OTHER COMPLAINTS ON YOUTUBE FROM OTHER JEEP OWNERS WITH SAME SITUATION. I ALSO WORK FOR AAA ROADSIDE AND HAVE SEEN SEVERAL INSTANCES WHERE THEY HAVE TO BE TOWED FOR ELECTRICAL FIRES. THIS MAKES ME VERY NERVOUS AND THIS MATTER NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. THERE ARE ALSO VIDEOS ON YOUTUBE WITH JEEP FIRES AS WELL TO BACK IT UP. ANY KIND OF RECALL WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED AS THESE TWO SCENARIOS ARE A SERIOUS AND LIFE THREATNING COMBINATION. 1. NORMAL USE OF INTERIOR DRIVER SIDE DOOR LATCH. 2. CASING AROUND INTERIOR DOOR LATCH HANDLE BROKEN 3. ENTIRE DOOR PANEL MUST BE REPLACED. DOOR PANEL FOR THIS MODEL ON BACKORDER. EXISTING BROKEN PART IS AVAILABLE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PLASTIC DOOR PANEL AREA THAT WAS SURROUNDING THE HANDLE BECAME CRACKED ON ALL FOUR DOORS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER BUT THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE A REASON FOR THE FAILURE. NO REPAIRS WERE DONE TO THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 97,000.
3 OUT OF 4 DOOR HANDLES HAVE DEVELOPED CRACKS ON THE PLASTIC DOOR PANEL IN MY 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. ONE OF THE DOORS IS NO LONGER OPERATIONAL WITHOUT ROLLING DOWN THE WINDOW AND PULLING THE OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE. THIS IS CLEARLY A DESIGN DEFECT FROM FAULTY PLASTIC ATTACHMENTS. IF THERE WAS AN ACCIDENT THE PASSENGER MAY NOT BE ABLE TO QUICKLY EXIT THE VEHICLE, ESPECIALLY IF THE ELECTRIC WINDOWS NO LONGER FUNCTIONED. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO FIX THIS. *TR
I CURRENTLY OWN A 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE AND APPROXIMATELY SEPTEMBER OF LAST YEAR I OBSERVED THE FRONT PASSENGER INTERIOR DOOR HOUSING TO BE CRACKED AND LOOSE. I WAS BEWILDERED HOW THIS HAPPENED. IN APRIL OF THIS YEAR MY SEVEN YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WAS IN THE REAR SEAT BEHIND THE DRIVER SEAT. I STOPPED THE VEHICLE AND EXITED. I WAS WAITING FOR MY DAUGHTER TO COME OUT AND SHE BEGAN TO BANG ON THE GLASS IN A PANIC. I OPENED THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE AND SHE WAS CRYING AND TOLD ME SHE COULDN'T GET OUT THAT THE INTERIOR HANDLE WAS BROKEN. I LOOKED AT THE HANDLE AND DISCOVERED THE HOUSING TO BE COMPLETELY BROKEN APART LIKE THE FRONT PASSENGER ONE, BUT THE REAR HANDLE WAS JUST DANGLING AND IS INOPERABLE. IT WAS AT THIS TIME I BEGAN TO RESEARCH THIS ISSUE TO SEE IF IT IS A PROBLEM WITH OTHER JEEP OWNERS. SURE ENOUGH IT IS A PROBLEM WITH HUNDREDS OF JEEP OWNERS, AND MY RESEARCH SHOULD THAT THERE ARE 65 COMPLAINTS FILED UNDER LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES; 29 COMPLAINTS UNDER STRUCTURE: BODY: DOOR; AND 10 COMPLAINTS UNDER LATCHES /LOCKS/LINKAGES:DOOR:LATCH, NOT COUNTING OTHER SITE COMPLAINTS WHEN YOU CONDUCT A GOOGLE SEARCH. I WENT TO A LOCAL JEEP DEALER WHO INFORMED ME THAT MY WARRANTY IS UP AND THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY KNOWLEDGE OF ANY RECALLS. I AM CONCERNED AS IF TWO HANDLES ARE BROKE, IT IS A MATTER OF TIME THE OTHER TWO WILL ALSO BREAK. I ALSO FIND THIS TO BE A SERIOUS!!!, SAFETY ISSUE AS IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY, HOW WILL A CHILD EXIT MY REAR SEAT IF THEY ARE SITTING BEHIND THE DRIVER AND IF THE HANDLE BREAKS ON THE OTHERSIDE THERE IS NO GETTING OUT FROM WITHIN THE VEHICLE. 2006, 2007, 2008, HYUNDAI SONATAS. SUNVISOR FAILS TO REMAIN IN POSITION OR PLASTIC ARM COVER BREAKS CAUSING THE SUNVISOR TO NOT STAY IN THE UPWARD POSITION. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. WHILE ON A TRIP THE SUNVISOR FAILED TO REMAIN UPRIGHT IMPAIRING ROAD VISION. THERE HAVE BEEN THREE TSB BULLETINS REGARDING THE SONATA SUNVISORS. THE PROBLEM PERSISTS AND THE INTERNET IS LOADED WITH CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS REGARDING RECENT FAILURES OF THE SUNVISOR TO REMAIN IN POSITION. *TR
DRIVER'S DOOR LATCH IS LOOSE BECAUSE OF THE PLASTIC PART IS BROKE OFF, AND IT CAN COME OFF ANYTIME. OTHER TWO DOORS HAVE CRACKS AROUND THE LATCHES, STARTING TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. THERE IS NOT THING CAN BE DONE EXCEPT REPLACE THE PARTS WHICH IS VERY EXPENSIVE. THIS IS THE DEFECTIVE ISSUE WITH THE PLASTIC THAT SURROUNDED THE DOOR LATCHES. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
WHEN TURNING THE IGNITION KEY TO THE START POSITION, YOU HEAR 1 "CLICK" BUT THE VEHICLE DOES NOT START. THIS IS AN INTERMITTENT EVENT THAT SEEMS TO COME AND GO EVERY FEW MONTHS. WHEN IT HAPPENS, I HAVE TO LEAVE THE KEY IN THE ON POSITION FOR ABOUT 1 - 2 MINUTES, THEN ATTEMPT TO START THE ENGINE AGAIN. I HAD PREVIOUSLY HAD MY VEHICLE SERVICED AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR THIS PROBLEM, BUT SINCE IT IS SO RANDOM, THE SERVICE PERSONNEL COULD NOT RECREATE THE EVENT. I EVEN ADVISED THEM THAT OTHER OWNERS, REGISTERING THIS SAME COMPLAINT, POINTED TO CORRODED SOLENOID WIRES AS BEING THE CULPRIT. HOWEVER, THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAD ME PURCHASE A NEW BATTERY LAST YEAR. THIS DID NOT FIX THE CONDITION WHICH CONTINUES PERIODICALLY TO THIS VERY DAY. UNFORTUNATELY, THE CAR HAS BEEN UNABLE TO START AT A FEW TIMES WHEN THE SURROUNDINGS WERE LESS THAN TOTALLY SAFE. I HAVE VIEWED A NUMBER OF CONSUMER FORUMS, SUCH AS HTTP://AUTOFORUM.CLASSIFIEDS1000.COM/JEEP-GRAND_CHEROKEE/2005_JEEP_GC_NOT_STARTING?PG=10. ALL OF THESE OWNERS HAVE THE EXACT ISSUE BUT EACH TIME, WHEN PRESENTED WITH THE DETAILS OF THE OCCURRENCES, DEALERSHIPS DISAVOW ALL KNOWLEDGE THAT THIS CONDITION EXISTS. MANY CONSUMERS ARE BEING TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIPS THAT NO OTHER OWNERS HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS. *JS
I HAVE A 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE AND THE INSIDE DOOR PANELS ARE A HARD PLASTIC ONE PIECE DOOR PANEL. THE PLASTIC THAT IS BEHIND THE DOOR HANDLES IS BROKEN AND CRACKED AND I AM VERY MUCH CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF BEING ABLE TO EXIT THE VEHICLE IN AN EMERGENCY OR EVEN DURING NORMAL CIRCUMSTANCES. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT JEEP REFUSED TO DO A RECALL AND THE REPLACEMENTS ARE VERY EXPENSIVE. 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM. THE AIR BAG SYSTEM FAILURE ANNUNCIATED CORRUPTION OF THE SYSTEM. AUTO WAS TAKEN TO DEALER, WALLACE JEEP IN STUART, FLORIDA FOR REPAIR. SYSTEM WAS DIAGNOSED AND PARTS ORDERED FOR REPAIR TWO WEEKS AGO. PARTS ARE STILL BACKORDERED. HOW CAN SAFETY ITEMS NOT BE AVAILABLE? *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LIMITED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE FRACTURED AND THE EXTERIOR HANDLE HAD BEGUN TO FRACTURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THEY ADVISED HIM THAT HE WOULD NEED TO HAVE THE ENTIRE DOOR PANEL REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
I "RECALL" DRIVING ONE EVENING ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY IN MY RECENTLY PURCHASED 05 GRAND CHEROKEE WHEN SUDDENLY I LOST ALL POWER. I WAS TRAVELING IN A CONGESTED AREA AT 65 MPH WITH LOTS OF SEMI'S SURROUNDING ME. THANK THE GOD'S I HAPPEN TO BE ON THE PERFECT INCLINE LEADING TO AN OFF RAMP AT THE TIME OF THIS ENGINE POWER FAILURE. I'D HATE TO IMAGINE THE OUT COME HAD I BEEN ONE LANE OVER A FEW SECONDS PRIOR! MY SON WHO WAS ONLY 5 AT THE TIME WAS A BIT FREAKED OUT FROM THE WHOLE ORDEAL. BUT MY BIGGEST COMPLAINT IS THE FACT THAT I'M A JEEP GIRL AND A FAITHFUL ONE BUT AFTER MY CONSTANT BATTLE WITH THIS LESS THEN DESIRABLE HUNK OF JUNK I'M THINKING OF CHEATING WITH A FORD! AFTER MY DAILY FAILURES WITH THIS THING I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT THIS VEHICLE FAR SURPASSES THE TWO RECALLS IN MY SHORT 3 YEARS OF OWNERSHIP. I'M MOST UPSET WITH MY DEALERSHIP DUE TO THE FACT THEY FORGOT TO MENTION A FEW HUNDRED DRIVERS OF THIS PRIOR RENTAL TRUCK WITH AN ACCIDENT THAT WAS MORE THAN A SKIP OVER THE CURB. THEY OFFERED BUT NEVER MADE GOOD ON PROVIDING ME WITH OWNERS MANUAL...GUESS THEY WERE WORRIED I WOULD NOTICE THE PAST SAFETY RECALLS THAT WERE NEVER DONE. SO I HAVE HAD AND CONTINUE TO HAVE EVERY SYSTEM MALFUNCTION ON THIS HEAP KNOWN TO MECHANICS. I'M SICK AND TIRED OF PAYING FOR THINGS THAT "JEEPS ARE KNOWN FOR" WHEN IN TRUTH ITS ALL BEEN A RESULT TO THE VISCOUS CYCLE OF RECALLS THAT WERE EITHER NEVER DONE OR NEVER THE PROPER FIX TO BEGIN WITH. SO I BEG THE HEADS, MONEY AND ENGINEERS OF CHRYSLER GROUP LLC TO GET YOUR [XXX] TOGETHER AND DO THE RIGHT THING BY REMOVING THE 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE 5.7 LITER WITH A HEMI DEATH TRAP OFF THE ROADS! THE PLASTIC ON THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES HAS CRACKED AROUND THE DOOR HANDLE. THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE AND THE DRIVER SIDE REAR INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE ARE INOPERABLE BECAUSE THEY ARE NO LONGER ATTACHED TO THE DOOR. *TR
I HAVE 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE PROBLEM IS THAT 3 OF THE 4 INSIDE DOOR HANDLES ARE BROKEN. THE PLASTIC THAT HOLDS THE HANDLE IN PLACE IS VERY THIN CHEEP PLASTIC THAT CRACKS AND BREAKS THERE ARE HOLES IS SOME OF THEM AND ON THE DRIVER DOOR THE LATCH IS COMPLETELY BROKEN. THE INSURANCE COMPANY PROVIDED THE CONTACT WITH A COPY OF THE RECALL NOTICE AND STATED THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO ASSIST HIM SINCE THE FAILURE WAS MECHANICAL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT COMPLETELY DESTROYED BUT IT WAS SEVERELY DAMAGED. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. I HAVE OWNED MY VEHICLE SINCE 2008 AT 32,000 MILES, THE SUNROOF WORKED GREAT FOR A FEW YEARS THEN I NOTICED THAT THE SUNROOF WOULD CLOSE PASSED THE ROOF LINE OF THE JEEP. I DID NOT THINK OF IT MUCH BECAUSE I ASSUMED THAT THE JEEP WOULD HAVE A SECONDARY SEAL ON THE INSIDE OF THE ROOF LINE, IN BETWEEN THE HEADLINER TO KEEP DEBRIS AND WATER OUT OF THE INSIDE. THIS IS NOT THE CASE, IT STARTED SNOWING HEAVILY AND THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS THE SUN MELTED EVERYTHING AWAY. I GOT IN MY JEEP AND REALIZED WHILE I WAS DRIVING THAT I HAD WATER POURING ON MY LEG AND THROUGH THE MAP LIGHTS IN THE CENTER. BY THE TIME I GOT TO MY DESTINATION, WORK, MY PANTS WERE COMPLETELY SOAKED AND MY CENTER CONSOLE COMPLETELY DRENCHED. THIS BEING THAT THE SUNROOF HAD NOTHING TO KEEP THE MELTING SNOW OUT OF THE VEHICLE. SUNROOF IS MADE WITH A FAULTY COG SET THAT WEARS AWAY TOO QUICKLY. INSTEAD OF HAVING TO SPEND ALMOST ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS AS I WAS QUOTED IN 2011 FOR THEM TO PLACE IN A NEW COG MADE OF THE SAME BRITTLE PLASTIC. I CHOOSE TO STOP MY MOTOR FROM OVER CLOSING, RENDERING THE SUNROOF ALWAYS SHOWING UP IN SCANNERS AS OPEN. HOWEVER WITH ME CONCENTRATING THAT THE SUNROOF CLOSES CORRECTLY I STILL HAVE LEAKS IN THE SUNROOF. MY JEEP HAS TO STAY OUTSIDE, MEANING ANY TIME IT SNOW, BUT I'M NOT DRIVING, I ALWAYS HAVE TO BRUSH THE ROOF OFF JUST THE ENSURE I DON'T HAVE THE SAME ISSUES. MY VEHICLE NOW JUST PASSED 125000 MILES. LOWER BALL JOINT ON RIGHT-FRONT OF VEHICLE IS VERY LOOSE AND ON THE VERGE OF SEPARATING, CAUSING LOSS OF LEFT, FRONT TIRE. CAUGHT BEFORE THIS OCCURRED AND AM HAVING REPLACED. MY JEEP TRANSMISSION IS DEFECTIVE AND KEEPS BLOWING FILTER OFF OR SPLITTING THEM...WHEN THIS HAPPENS I AM TRAVELING DOWN THE ROAD AT 60 MPH..MY VEHICLE JOLTS AS IF I HAVE SLAMMED THE GEARS IN PARK...THIS COULD RESULT IN MAJOR INJURY IF THE WHEELS LOCK WHILE IM GOING THAT RATE OF SPEED...AFTER EXTENSIVE RESEARCH ONLINE I HAVE FOUND THAT MANY CONSUMERS WHO HAVE 05 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM HOWEVER THE DEALERSHIPS SEEM TO DENY THE FACT THAT THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE COMPONENTS OF THE TRANSMISSION...I HAVE FOUND MANY CONSUMERS HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE, SHIFT SOLENOID, AND THE FILTERS FOR THE TRANSMISSION.. THIS HAS BEEN A ONGOING ISSUE AND I AM SURPRISED THAT THIS HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED...THIS CAN HAPPEN AT ANY TIME...WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD...OR PULLING OUT IN FRONT OF TRAFFIC....I AM WORRIED THAT I WILL CRASH OR SOMEONE ELSE WILL CRASH INTO ME IN THE EVENT THAT MY TRANSMISSION FAILS AGAIN...I HAVE HAD IT REPAIRED 6 TIMES OVER 3 YEARS NOW FOR THE SAME ISSUE AND NO LONGER FEEL SAFE WHILE DRIVING...I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THIS MATTER INVESTIGATED WITH CHRYSLER, LLC SO THAT THEY MAY RECALL THE PRODUCTS AND TAKE THE TIME TO REPAIR THESE DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION COMPONENTS.. *TR
ON A COLD DAY, MY HUSBAND WAS SITTING IN HIS 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE WITH THE DEFROSTERS ON. HE HEARD A POP AND SAW THE WINDSHIELD CRACK FROM LEFT TO RIGHT. THE CAR WAS NOT MOVING AND NOTHING HAD HIT THE WINDSHIELD. THERE HAD NOT BEEN A CHIP OR CRACK BEFORE THIS HAPPENED. THE WINDSHIELD CRACKED FOR NO APPARENT REASON.I CALLED CHRYSLER TO REPORT THE INCIDENT. THE SERVICE REP TOLD ME THAT THE SAME THING HAD HAPPENED TO HER. I WAS TOLD TO TAKE IT TO A JEEP DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT, WHICH I DID. AFTER 6 DAYS OF GIVING ME THE RUNAROUND, CHRYSLER SAID THAT THEY WILL NOT PAY TO HAVE IT REPAIRED BECAUSE IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY.I LOOKED ON THE INTERNET AND SAW THAT OTHER PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT THEY HAD JUST HAD A JEEP WITH THE SAME PROBLEM THE PREVIOUS WEEK. A SECOND SERVICE REP AT CHRYSLER HAD TOLD ME THAT SHE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. IT OBVIOUSLY WAS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT. *TR
