ELECTRICAL SYSTEM : STARTER FAILURE REPLACED BY DEALER TWICE. FIRST REPLACED ON 05/20/08. THIS PART FAILED ON 02/16/09 AND WAS REPLACED AGAIN WITH 34447 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. *TR
I AM THE OWNER OF A 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE AND ALL BUT ONE OF THE DOOR HANDLES ON THE INSIDE PANEL HAVE FALLEN OUT AND IT IS JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THE OTHER ONE DOES BECAUSE IT IS ALREADY CRACKING. THIS IS A REAL SAFETY ISSUE AS IF ANYTHING HAPPENS THE DOORS CANNOT BE OPENED FROM THE INSIDE. I HAVE READ THAT THIS IS REAL COMMON BECAUSE OF THE MATERIAL USED TO MAKE THESE DOORS AND HAS HAPPENED TO A WHOLE LOT OF PEOPLE. THE DEALERSHIPS WANT LIKE $700 A DOOR TO REPLACE. *TR
1. WHILE DRIVING AT A STANDARD VELOCITY OF 55 MPH, THE ENGINE LAMP IN THE DASH BOARD TURNS ON AND THE VELOCITY OF THE JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE DECREASES VERY FAST WITH SHAKING MOTIONS. EVEN THOUGHT THE ACCELERATOR IS PUSHED TO INCREASE VELOCITY, IT DID NOT RESPOND. THESE HAS HAPPENED ABOUT 4 TIMES IN 4 YEARS. NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE SINCE THE EVENT IS AN INTERMITTENT ONE. 2. UNDER NORMAL USE THE INTERIOR PANELS IN THE AREA OF THE HANDLES GOT BROKEN. TO CORRECT THIS, THE INTERIOR PANELS (4 PANELS) WERE REORDERED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THE FOUR INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES BROKE OVER A PERIOD OF YEARS. WHEN THE FIRST FAILURE OCCURRED, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE HANDLE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. IN ORDER TO EXIT THE VEHICLE THE WINDOWS MUST BE OPENED TO ALLOW ACCESS TO THE EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000. UPDATED 09/21/11*LJ UPDATED 09/23/11
BLOWER MOTOR RELAY BURNED OUT THREE TIMES. AFTER SEARCH ON INTERNET FOUND THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE. *TR
ALL FOUR INNER DOOR HANDLES HAVE BROKEN AND FALLEN OUT. NONE ARE OPERABLE. WE HAVE TO LET DOWN THE GLASS TO EXIT. *TR
THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER DOOR PANEL PLASTIC MOULDINGS SURROUNDING AND ENCASING THE DOOR HANDLES HAS BROKEN WITH PIECES FALLING INSIDE THE DOOR. THE DOOR PANEL NO LONGER SECURELY HOLDS THE HANDLE MECHANISM AND ON OCCASION JAMS THE HANDLE.. THESE FAILURES WERE NOT DUE TO UNUSUAL CIRCUMSTANCES OR ABUSE, BUT RATHER FAILURES OCCURRED IN NORMAL ENTRY AND EGRESS ACTIVITY FROM THE VEHICLE. NO USED REPLACEMENT DOOR PANELS CAN BE FOUND VIA USED PART OUTLETS SHOWING THE EXTENT OF THE PROBLEM, AND OEM REPLACEMENT/REPAIR COSTS ARE OUTRAGEOUS AND IS NEARLY $2000 (I UNDERSTAND THESE PLASTIC MOULDINGS ARE ON NATIIONAL BACKORDER). NUMEROUS IDENTICAL INCIDENTS OF THIS FAILURE ARE EVIDENTLY PROLIFIC AS SOURCED BY INTERNET CUSTOMER SATISFACTION RESEARCH ON THE JEEP CHEROKEE AS WELL AS COMPLAINTS POSTED WITH THE DOT/NHTS. PLEASE ADD MY MOST VOCAL AND SERIOUS COMPLAINT ABOUT THIS OBVIOUS MANUFACTURING DEFECT. THIS OBVIOUS SAFETY PROBLEM POTENTIALLY PROHIBITS EXIT FROM THE VEHICLE SHOULD AN ACCIDENT REQUIRE SUCH ACTION, NOT TO MENTION THE COSTS TO THE CONSUMER DUE TO A FAULTY PRODUCT. A RECALL TO CORRECT THIS DEFECT SHOULD BE IMMEDIATE AND SUSTAINED FOR ANY CONSUMER WHO EXPECTS TO BE ABLE TO OPEN AND CLOSE A VEHICLE DOOR FOR THE EXPECTED LIFE OF THE VEHICLE.
WHILE DRIVING THE ENTIRE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FAILS; LIGHTS START FLASHING, HEAT GOES OUT, ALL SYSTEM WARNING LIGHTS FLASH ( BRAKES, TIRE PRESSURE, SERVICE 4 WHEEL DRIVE SYSTEM, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON), I WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE THE CAR BUT THE LIGHTS FLASHED CONTINUOUSLY FOR APPROXIMATELY 15 MILES. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES SINCE I PURCHASED THE SUV JUNE 2005. THE DEALERSHIP RUNS TEST BY SAY THEY CANNOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. I HAVE READ ON THE INTERNET THAT THIS IS HAPPENING TO MANY OWNERS OF THE 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE AND THE DEALERS AND MECHANICS AT THE DEALERSHIP CANNOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION AS MANY PEOPLE ALSO LOOSE POWER AND THE SUV SHIFT INTO LOW GEAR. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE MY JEEP NOW BECAUSE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON AND OFF. I AM GOING BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN FOR SOME MORE STUPID "I DID NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG" STATEMENTS. ORIGINALLY I WAS TOLD IT WAS BECAUSE I HAD A REMOTE STARTER SO I HAS IT DISCONNECTED AND THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. *TR
I HAVE A 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LIMITED. THE VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 60,000 MILES. ON THE ENGINE HOOD COVER, THE ORIGINAL AND EXISTING GAS OPERATED HOOD SUPPORT DOES NOT HOLD. THERE HAVE NOT BEEN VERY MANY OPENING AND CLOSINGS OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE HOOD SLAMS DOWN AND COULD CAUSE A PERSONAL INJURY. *TR
WHILE SHIFTING FROM FORWARD TO REVERSE, FRONT END THUMPS LOUDLY. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER AND WAS TOLD THERE IS A RUBBER SPACER THAT HAS FAILED AND THAT THEY WOULD NEED TO ORDER THE PART. THE DEALER THEN INFORMED US THAT THIS PART WAS ON BACK ORDER AND THAT WE SHOULD BE CAREFUL WHILE DRIVING, SUE TO THE FACT THAT IF THIS CONNECTION WHERE THE RUBBER WAS BREAKS, IT COULD CAUSE US TO CRASH. WE HAVE CHECKED WITH SEVERAL DEALERS AND LOCAL MECHANICS AND ALL STATE THE SAME AND THAT THE PART IS STILL ON BACK ORDER. *TR
I OWN A 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. I HAVE READ OVER 500 COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE OBVIOUS MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT ASSOCIATED WITH THE INTERIOR DOOR RELEASE SYSTEMS CONTAINED IN THIS VEHICLE. I MUST ASSUME THAT "WE" ARE WAITING FOR A NUMBER OF DEATHS BEFORE THIS EVIDENT FLAW WILL BE RECALLED. I AM NOW DOWN TO ONE WORKING DOOR ON MY GRAND CHEROKEE. OTHER THAN THAT, MY JEEP IS IN GREAT CONDITION, FOR I AM VERY PARTICULAR ABOUT MAINTAINING MY VEHICLE PROPERLY. AFTER HUNDREDS OF JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE OWNERS HAVE SUBMITTED OFFICIAL COMPLAINTS, WOULDN'T IT BE SAFE TO SAY THAT THESE COMPLAINT REPRESENT THOUSANDS, IF NOT TENS OF THOUSANDS OF INCIDENTS? LET'S FACE IT... MOST VEHICLE OWNERS WILL LIVE WITH THIS, OR PAY TO HAVE IT REPAIRED, BUT FEW ACTUALLY SUBMIT A WRITTEN COMPLAINT. I HAVE BEEN QUOTED A PRICE OF $700 PER DOOR TO HAVE THESE DOOR RELEASE SYSTEMS REPLACED. AS A SINGLE MOTHER, I DON'T HAPPEN TO HAVE AN EXTRA $2,800 TO PAY FOR SOMETHING THAT SHOULD BE TAKEN CARE OF BY THE MANUFACTURER. ONE DAY... HEAVEN FORBID... SOMEONE (HOPEFULLY NOT A CHILD) WILL BE TRAPPED INSIDE A JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE DURING AN EMERGENCY. ONLY THEN, I ASSUME, WILL A RECALL BE ISSUED. WHAT A SHAME. THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE HAS BEEN ON THE ROAD FOR SIX YEARS, AND COMPLAINTS ARE ROLLING IN. THIS IS HORRIBLE AND EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. PLEASE INVESTIGATE!!! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ALL FOUR INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES FRACTURED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED WHO ADVISED THE CONTACT TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED AT THE CONTACTS EXPENSE. THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,200.
THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES ARE BROKEN AND I HAVE TO OPEN THE DOOR WITH A STRAP. I CONSIDER THIS TO BE A SAFETY HAZARD. *TR
I OWN A 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE THAT THREE OF THE INTERIOR DOOR PANELS HAVE CRACKED AT THE DOOR HANDLE. IF THEY CONTINUE TO FALL APART THE VEHICLE OCCUPANT WILL BE TRAPPED WITHIN THE VEHICLE. I HAVE CONTACTED CHRYSLER AND THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO FIX OR HELP WITH THE $1,644 BILL FOR JUST THE THREE DOOR PANELS. I HAVE EXPLAINED THAT IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE, AND THE VEHICLE JUST TURNED 50,000 MILES. IF THE BATTERY WERE TO DIE YOU WOULD BE TRAPPED IN THE VEHICLE, OR IF YOU WERE FORCED OFF OF THE ROAD AND ENDED UP IN A LAKE YOU COULD NOT GET OUT. I EXPLAINED THIS TO CHRYSLER AND THEY DO NOT FEEL THAT IT IS A CONCERN THAT THEY HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT. I EXPLAINED THAT I WOULD SEND PICTURES OF THE VEHICLE TO SHOW IT IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION, AND GARAGE KEPT (NO DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE), ADULT DRIVEN. WHY DID THE OTHER TWO PANELS CRACK, THEY HAVE NO ANSWER. *TR
2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES INOPERABLE FROM THE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE 2 BACK DOOR HANDLES HAVE FALLEN OFF. WE TOOK THIS UP WITH CHRYSLER AND WAS TOLD THIS IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. THIS IS A QUALITY/DESIGN FLAW AND A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO RECOGNIZE THIS AND RE-CALL AND FIX THIS ISSUE. WE THEN TOOK OUR JEEP INTO A DEALER TO GET IT FIXED AND PAID $736 FOR ONE DOOR PANEL. THE ONLY PANEL THAT COULD BE FIXED SINCE THE REST ARE ON BACK ORDER ??? WE ARE LEFT WITH 2 DOORS THAT DON'T OPERATE AND ONE CRACKED DOOR HANDLE THAT EVENTUALLY WILL FALL OFF TOO. PLEASE HELP ADDRESS THIS CONCERN WITH THE 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THANK YOU *TR

INSIDE DOOR HANDLES TO OPEN THE DOORS FROM THE INSIDE BROKE OFF. THERE IS ONLY ONE DOOR HANDLE LEFT, THE DRIVER'S SIDE. I HAVE ALREADY REPORTED THIS TO CHRYSLER BUT THEY SAID I BOUGHT A USED CAR 2005 JEEP CHEROKEE, AS IS. I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE OCTOBER 2008. THE VEHICLE LOOKED NEW, IT ONLY HAD 29,000 MILES. THE DOOR HANDLES BROKE ALONG WITH THE CASING WITH NO FORCE WHAT SO EVER. I TOLD CHYSLER THAT I HAVE YOUNG GRAND CHILDREN, THAT IF AN ACCIDENT IS TO OCCUR THERE IS NO WAY THE CHILDREN CAN GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE. I LIVE IN BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS WHERE THE WEATHER GETS VERY HOT IN THE SUMMER. IF EVER ONE OF MY CHILD GETS IN THE VEHICLE AND LOCKS HIM/HER SELF IN, THERE IS NO WAY THE CHILD CAN GET OUT. THE TEMPERATURES IN THE SUMMER SOMETIMES REACH 100 DEGREES. RIGHT NOW, THE DRIVER HAS TO GET OUT FIRST AND OPEN THE DOOR FOR EVERYONE ELSE. MY WIFE, FRONT PASSENGER SIDE, LOWERS THE WINDOW FIRST AND OPENS THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE. EVEN MY WIFE, IF BY CHANCE I TURN OFF THE MOTOR GET OFF THE VEHICLE AND WALK AWAY, THERE IS NO WAY MY WIFE CAN GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE. SHE CAN NOT REACH THE DRIVERS HANDLE OR CROSSOVER THE SHIFT GEAR TO GET ACCROSS TO GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE MOTOR NEEDS TO BE RUNNING IN ORDER FOR THE WINDOW'S MOTOR TO WORK TO LOWERE THE WINDOW. I AM JUST LETTING YOU KNOW, MAYBE THERE ARE OTHER OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD BY A MECHANIC AT AN AUTO DEALER CHEVOLET THAT HE SAW A JEEP JUST LIKE MINE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM, THE HANDLES BROKEN. I WILL BE REPORTING THIS TO MY INSURANCE ALLSATE, FOR SAFETY REASONS IN CASE AN ACCIDENT EVER OCCURS. ON DEC. 21, 2008,WHILE DRIVING DOWN IH-35, MY 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE SUDDENLY AND UNCONTROLLABLY STARTED ACCELERATING. I FELT THE PEDAL LEAVE MY FOOT, AND PIN TO THE FLOOR. I TRIED TAPPING IT A FEW TIMES, THEN APPLIED THE BRAKES WITH NO RESULT. I HAD TO SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL AND PULL OVER ONTO THE SHOULDER, WHERE I WATCHED MY RPM GAUGE PIN AT 6000 RPM FOR APPROX. 30 - 45 SECONDS. IT FINALLY WENT BACK TO NORMAL AS I WAS BRINGING IT TO A STOP IN ORDER TO TURN THE CAR OFF. THIS IS THE 3RD AND MOST SEVERE TIME IN 6 MONTHS THIS HAS HAPPENED. *TR
2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE ENGINE STALLS OUT TWICE ON INTERSTATE WHILE TRAVELING WITH TOTAL LOSS OF POWER, ONCE IN PARKING GARAGE ON TURN , ONCE GOING UP HILL TWICE AT STOP SIGN , ANOTHER TIME TWICE IN ONE 15 MINUTE TRIP DIAGNOSTICS SHOWED NOTHING. *TR
AS I DRIVE MY 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE( HEMI)THE VEHICLE SIMPLY SHUTS OFF. ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD TURN ON THEN THE CAR TURNS OFF. I END UP WITH NO CONTROL. SOMETIMES THIS HAPPENS AND THEN THE VEHICLE TURNS ON ALL BY ITSELF WHILE IM DRIVING. ABOUT A WEEK AFTER I PURCHASED IT, I HAD THIS PROBLEM BUT THE DEALER SAID IT WAS FINE. AS I TOOK IT TO THE GAS STATION ACROSS THE STREET, IT HAPPENED. THE DEALERSHIP EMPLOYEES WITNESSED IT AND WERE NICE ENOUGH TO RUN OVER AND PUSHED THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE SHOP. THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING BUT REPLACED THE BATTERY JUST IN CASE. SINCE THEN IT HAPPENS AT ONCE EVERY TWO MONTHS. CURRENTLY, I HAVE AN AIRBAG ISSUE. THE DEALER CANNOT SEEM TO REPAIR ANY OF THESE ISSUES. THE AIRBAG LIGHTS TURN ON INDICATED THE AIRBAGS ARE OFF BECAUSE IT DOES NOT SENSE ANYONE ON THE SEATS. IT HAS BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES FOR THIS ISSUE AND I AM WAITING FOR A CALL BACK TO RETURN IT SO THEY CAN INSTALL AN ECM. THEY THINK IT MAY BE THE ISSUE. THIS WILL BE THE FOURTH VISIT FOR THE AIRBAGS. SEEMS THE VEHICLE HAS A LOT OF ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. I HAVE NOT DRIVEN THE VEHICLE SINCE DECEMBER 22ND. IT IS NOW FEB 25. I AM AFRAID OF GOING OVER THE WARRANTY MILES. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT NOTICED A MASSIVE HESITATION WITH HIS VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START AND THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP AND A NEW STARTER WAS INSTALLED. AFTER THE REPAIR WAS PERFORMED, THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. HE WENT THROUGH A DRIVE-THRU CAR WASH AND NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO HESITATE. WHEN HE PLACED EXTRA PRESSURE ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE VEHICLE WOULD STUTTER AND THEN FINALLY CATCH AND INCREASE IN SPEED. THE DEALER PERFORMED A TUNE-UP, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER, BUT THEY COULD NOT PINPOINT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT BEEN NOTIFIED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 57,802 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 57,400. UPDATED 03-04-09 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED A CODE FOR THE O2 SENSOR HEATER WAS BEING DISPLAYED. OCTOBER 29, 2009 BROUGHT JEEP TO USED CAR DEALERSHIP WITH THESE COMPLAINTS: FIRST CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTED COMING ON, THEN IT BEGAN FLASHING, DOOR CHIME STARTS DINGING, ILLUMINATED AREAS DIM & BRIGHTEN-FLASHING, DASHBOARD LIGHTS GO CRAZY FLASHING ON & OFF, INTERIOR LIGHTS TURN ON & OFF, TRANSMISSION LIGHTS GO CRAZY & NEED TO SHIFT DOWN IN ORDER TO GET VEHICLE TO DRIVE, HEADLIGHTS & TAIL LIGHTS FLASH ON AND OFF WHICH IS VERY UNSAFE WHILE DRIVING ON A DARK HIGHWAY AT NIGHT. USED CAR DEALERSHIP HAD CAR TOWED TO JEEP DEALERSHIP IN NEW LONDON. THESE REPAIRS COST $500.12 FOR FAULTY CRANK SENSOR, SENSOR CRANKSHAFT, SPARK PLUGS, LEAK AT TRANS ELECTRICAL. AUGUST 17, 2011 TOOK TO A NEW DEALERSHIP W/ SAME PROBLEMS. WENT TO VALENTI JEEP IN MYSTIC, CT. WAS ADVISED JUNCTION BLOCK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND CODES IN MULTIPLE MODULES RESET-THIS COST $318.52. SEPTEMBER 10, 2011 BACK TO VALENTI JEEP FOR SAME PROBLEMS & FOR INSTALL. OF JUNCTION BOX COSTING $249.00 BECAUSE OF INSTALLATION COSTS & OTHER ITEMS WE WERE ADVISED TO TAKE CARE OF. MEANWHILE AS A WARNING THIS ALL BEGINS AFTER CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTS FLASHING. BLINKING DASH LIGHTS, AC ON & OFF, GAUGES DROP TO 0, TOLD ONLY REASON THIS IS HAPPENING IS BECAUSE WE HAVE REMOTE START SYSTEM THEY DON'T USE. TECH RESET SYSTEM & DISCONNECTED OUR REMOTE START SYSTEM AT A COST OF $90.40. THEN BY OCTOBER OF 2011-APPROXIMATELY, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS RETURNED & TRANSMISSION LIGHTS ARE BLINKING. 1. MY 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE UNEXPECTEDLY CAN STALL, TYPICALLY WHEN THE VEHICLE IS MOVING AT LESS THAN 15-20 MPH. UNFORTUNATELY, NO WARNINGS ARE GIVEN BY THE VEHICLE AS THE ENGINE SIMPLY STALLS AND DIES. NO COMPUTER ERROR CODES ARE DISPLAYED OR REGISTERED. THE STALLING OCCURS BOTH IN FORWARD AND REVERSE. OFTEN THE STALLING OCCURS WHEN THE ENGINE SEEMS TO EITHER DOWN SHIFT OR UP SHIFT IN LOWER GEARS. THE STALLING IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS THE UNEXPECTED AND UNPREDICTABLE STALLING OFTEN OCCURS AT STOP LIGHTS/INTERSECTIONS OR PARKING LOTS. THE PROBLEM APPEARS TO ME TO BE A COUPLING BETWEEN THE COMPUTER CONTROLLER/SOFTWARE, THE RPM SENSOR, AND THE TRANSMISSION GEAR BOX. 2. THE FAILURE IS INTERMITTENT AND UNPREDICTABLE. WHEN THE COMPUTER FAILS TO "CATCH" THE RPMS FALL RAPIDLY AND THE ENGINE STALLS AND DIES. CONSEQUENCE IS THAT THE VEHICLE CAN STOP SUDDENLY IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION OR PARKING LOT. THE FAILURES HAVE OCCURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. 3. DESPITE SEVERAL COMPUTER FLASHES AND MAINTENANCE ON THE "SOLENOID-LINEAR IACV," JEEP HAS FAILED TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. I HAVE A 2005 GRAND JEEP CHEROKEE, THE BRAKES ARE AWFUL. HAD A ROCK KRAWLER 3.5 X FACTOR LIFT KIT INSTALLED ON MY 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. ROCK KRAWLER ACKNOWLEDGED AN INCORRECT BOLT WAS SENT OUT WITH THE KIT AND COULD CAUSE FAILURES TO THE SYSTEM. BEFORE I COULD GET IT IN TO BE LOOKED AT THE BOLT SNAPPED WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE ROAD CAUSING A MULTITUDE OF EVENTS. THEY HAS SAID THEY WILL PAY FOR THE STRUT, BUT NOT THE AXLE OR AND LABOR COSTS THAT GO ALONG WITH FIXING THE PROBLEMS THEIR DEFECTIVE EQUIPMENT CAUSED. *TR

I RECENTLY HAD THE SAME PROBLEM HAPPEN AGAIN. AND, AGAIN, I HAPPEN TO BE ON A ROAD WITH VERY LITTLE TRAFFIC SO I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER AND AGAIN THE VEHICLE STARTED UP AGAIN WITHOUT A HITCH. I ATTRIBUTED THE PROBLEM TO THE LOCATION OF THE IGNITION SWITCH WHICH MAKES IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE NOT TO BUMP INTO THE KEY WITH YOUR RIGHT KNEE ANYTIME YOU'RE TRAVELING LONG DISTANCES AND WIND UP MOVING YOUR FEET AROUND JUST TO STRETCH THEM. I HAVE HAD THREE REPAIRED AT A DEALERSHIP AT PERSONAL COST AND ONE IS PENDING. I BELIEVE IT IS A DEFECT IN THE PLASTIC RESIN MANUFACTURING PROCESS FOR THE EARLY 2005 GRAND CHEROKEES BECAUSE ALL FOUR DOOR PANELS HAVE CRACKED IN THE EXACT SAME PLACE. CHRYSLER WAS CONTACTED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS AND DENIES THAT THIS IS AN ISSUE. THIS IS A POTENTIAL SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE IF THE DOOR HANDLE BREAKS LOOSE, YOU CANNOT OPEN THE DOOR TO EXIT THE VEHICLE FROM THE INSIDE. THE CONTACT WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR COSTS. SHE HAS PICTURES OF THE FAILED COMPONENT. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000.
