I JUST HAD MY JEEP INSPECTED AND WAS TOLD THAT A MANIFOLD BOLT WAS BROKEN AND WOULD CAUSE OTHER ISSUES IF NOT FIXED. DAMAGE TO MANIFOLD & GASKET, ETC.) THEY ALSO SAID THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH JEEPS CHRYSLERS AND DOGE ENGINES.
DOOR HANDLES ON ALL INTERIOR DOORS HAVE BROKEN AND BECOME UN-USEABLE AND VERY DANGEROUS AS PASSENGERS HAVE TO BE LET OUT OR OPEN WINDOWS AND TRY TO OPEN DOOR FROM OUTSIDE , IF THERE WAS A FIRE OR WATER HAZARD THERE WOULD BE NO WAY TO ESCAPE AS ELECTRICS WOULDNT ALLOW WINOWS TO OPEN , IM AFRAID TO TRAVEL WITH MY KIDS AND PRICE TO FIX IS OVER $3000.00 AND NO ONE WANTS TO FIX THEM , EVEN IF I SAY ILL PAY ITS REDICULOUS, DANGEROUS AND OUT RIGHT FRAUD . JEEP NEEDS TO DO A RECALL AND FIX THIS ISSUE AS THE DANGER TO LIFE IS MASSIVE AND THERE IS 100,000 VECHILES WITH THIS PROBLEM. JUST THE BROKEN PARTS CAN CUT PEOPLE, NOT RELIZING IT . HAPPENED BY NORMAL USE ACTUALLY LESS THAN NORMAL USE AS REAR PASSANGER DOORS FAILED FASTER THEN FRONT AND OVER THE YEARS HAD 3/4 LESS USAGE THAN FRONT AS I USE IT EVERDAY.
MY INTERIOR HANDLES ON 3 OF THE 4 DOORS HAVE BROKEN AND I CANNOT OPEN MY DOORS FROM THE INSIDE. THE PLASTIC THAT WAS UTILIZED IN THE DESIGN AND MAKING OF THE HANDLE BECAME BRITTLE AND NOW HAS BROKEN. THIS STARTED TO OCCUR YEARS AGO WITH THE PASSENGER FRONT AND BACK INTERIOR HANDLE AND MOST RECENTLY WITH THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT WHICH NOW I HAVE TO WIND THE WINDOW DOWN TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE WHICH IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE IF I SHOULD GET INTO A CAR WRECK OR SOMETHING OF THIS NATURE. THE COST IN GETTING THIS ISSUE FIXED IS UNAFFORDABLE TO ME.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED UNINTENDED ACCELERATION AND THE SPEED INCREASED TO 80 MPH. THE DRIVER LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND CRASHED INTO A UTILITY POLE. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE NECK, BACK, LEFT ARM, AND LEFT FOOT, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THIS MODEL GRAND CHEROKEE HAS THE SAME PROBLEM AS THE 07-AND UP. THE WIRELESS IGNITION MODULE FAILS. I HAVE BEEN STRANDED 5 TIMES, THAT'S 5 TOWS- THE DEALERSHIP ORIGINALLY THOUGHT I WAS PART OF THAT RECALL, BUT HAD TO BACK TRACK. I WAS TOLD "IT'S NOT BROKEN ENOUGH" IT IS THE SAME EXACT PART AS THE P57 RECALL FOR THE 07, SO WHY NOT FOR THE 05? THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS FROM CUSTOMERS REGARDING THIS ISSUE AND THE DEALERSHIPS TELLING US TO GO AWAY AFTER WE SPEND MONEY ON PARTS THAT ARE CLEARLY NOT THE ISSUE.
I TOOK JEEP IN FOR RECALL N23 AND THEY FLASHED IT. AFTER I PICKED IT UP THE SERVICE 4WD DRIVE CODE KEEPS POPPING UP. 4X4 DOES NOT KICK IN. UNLESS I REMOVE THE FED MYSELF FUSE AND PUT BACK IN THEN IT WILL WORK. BUT AFTER A WHILE 4WD SERVICE TURNS ON AGAIN. *TR
INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES CRACKING AND BREAKING NOT ABLE TO OPEN THE DOORS FROM INSIDE THEY HAVE BEEN REPLACED BUT STILL BREAK. CHRYSLER REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE DID NOT GO INTO FOUR WHEEL DRIVE WHENEVER THE "SERVICE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE SYSTEM" WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE FINAL DRIVE CONTROL MODULE WAS "FLASHED". THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND ORDERED THE DEALER TO RECHECK THE REMEDY. THE DEALER WANTED TO PERFORM A DIAGNOSTIC EVALUATION, BUT NOT FOR FREE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 85,000.
THE FRONT HEADLIGHTS AND ALL INTERIOR ELECTRONICS INCLUDING LIGHTS, GAUGES, RADIO, ETC. SHUT OFF. THIS HAPPENS ON INITIAL STARTUP AT HOME AND IN CITY PARKING LOTS, ALSO ACTED WHILE THE ENGINE HAS BEEN RUNNING IN MOTION. THE VEHICLE HAS TO BE TURNED OFF AND BACK ON REPEATEDLY UNTIL LIGHTS AND ELECTRONICS BEGIN FUNCTIONING AGAIN.
ALL FOUR INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES HAVE CRACKED AND CRUMBLED APART. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY RISK FOR MYSELF AND MY FAMILY. THE COST OF REPLACING THE DOOR PANELS IS QUITE LARGE AS THE JEEP/CHRYSLER COMPANY DOES NOT PROVIDE NOR MAKE DOOR HANDLES ALONE. AS THE CAR IS A 2005 THERE IS NO WARRANTY AND AT THIS POINT I DO NOT LOCATE A RECALL ON THIS OBVIOUSLY DEFECTIVE PART. DUE TO THE FACT THAT JEEP MADE THIS WITH A CHEAP PLASTIC, THE INABILITY TO SAFELY GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE IS AN OBVIOUS ISSUE. JEEP NEEDS TO REPLACE THESE PARTS AND NOT AT THE EXPENSE OF THE OWNERS. THE SAFETY ISSUE IS OBVIOUS AND DUE TO THE SIMPLE FACT THIS IS NOT DUE TO ABUSE OR MISHANDLEING BY MYSELF OR ANY OTHER FAMILY MEMBER IN MY VEHICLE IT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. THE REST OF MY CAR INTERIOR IS FINE AND NOT IN NEED OF REPAIR. I HAVE READ AND NOTICED A LOT OF OTHER INDIVIDUALS WITH THE VERY SAME ISSUE AND HAVE FILED A COMPLAINT. I AM NOT REQUESTING A REPLACEMENT CAR BUT I AM REQUESTING THAT THE INTEGRITY OF THE JEEP BRAND BE CORRECTED FOR THE SAFETY OF MYSELF AND MY FAMILY. I HAVE TO GET OUT OF THE CAR TO OPEN THE CAR DOORS FOR MY FAMILY MEMBERS. IF WE ARE IN A WRECK OR HAVE A FIRE WE COULD ALL BE LOST SIMPLY DUE TO A CHEAPLY MADE DOOR HANDLE THAT THE JEEP COMPANY DOES NOT CHOOSE TO REPLACE. THIS SHOULD BE A CUSTOMER SATISFACTION ISSUE AS WELL. BUT THE SAFETY IS OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE. THERE IS ALSO A LOT OF AFTERMARKET DOOR HANDLES BEING MADE DUE TO THE COST JEEP IS CHARGING ALMOST 400 PER DOOR PANEL. HOWEVER THE SAFETY OF THESE PARTS ARE NOT REALLY KNOWN. JEEP IS INFORMING AS I CALL THAT THEY DO NOT USE AFTER MARKET PARTS ONLY JEEP PARTS. I SAY THAT IF THAT IS THE CASE THEN JEEP NEEDS TO OWN UP TO ITS DESIGN PROBLEM AND SECURE THE SAFETY OF THE PEOPLE THAT ARE DRIVING IN THESE VEHICLES.

WHILE DRIVING MY JEEP RANDOMLY SHIFTS INTO NEUTRAL SO I NEED TO PULL OFF THE ROAD AND PUT INTO PARK THEN BACK INTO GEAR, AND I JUST GOT A RECALL NOTICE FOR THE IGNITION SWITCH.
DRIVERS SIDE REAR INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE BROKE AWAY FROM PLASTIC DOOR PANEL, SO WE ARE NOW UNABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM INSIDE THE CAR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR MUFFLER AND ENGINE REPAIRS, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE KEY IGNITION WAS VERY TIGHT AND BENT THE KEY. THE CONTACT REACHED OUT TO THE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE KEY WOULD HAVE TO BE BROKEN IN ORDER TO REPAIR THE IGNITION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 165,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, IT WOULD NOT START WHEN PROMPTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS AN IGNITION SWITCH RECALL ON THE VEHICLE THAT HAD NOT YET BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 134,000.
TAKATA RECALL DEFECTIVE/FAULTY AIR BAGS. AIR BAG LIGHT RANDOMLY GOES ON AND OFF, ACTIVATING OR TURNING OFF THE AIRBAGS

SEEMS TO BE THERE'S ELECTRICAL ISSUE ALL THE DASH LIGHTS WOULD TURN ON TURN OFF HAPPENED WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND HAD TO COME TO A STOP IT STALLED OUT IT HAPPENED WHEN I STARTED UP THE CAR AND I TURNED IT OFF AND TOOK IT TO THE SHOP TWO DIFFERENT TIMES PRETTY MUCH THE SAME PROBLEM FIRST TIME IT HAS 68 CODES READING OFF OF IT SO THEY REPLACE MY BATTERY THE SECOND TIME THE LIGHTS WILL COME ON AND GO OFF AND COME ON AND THEN IT WOULDN'T EVEN GO IT WAS UNDRIVEABLE AT THAT POINT SO WE TOOK IT TO THE SHOP AND THEN A MONTH LATER IT'S STARTING ALL OVER AGAIN I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD CAME TO A STOP LIGHT PLIED THE BRAKES AND THEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN THE GAUGES WERE GOING CRAZY. THE IDOL WAS MOVING UP AND DOWN THE LIGHTS WOULD COME ON AND GO OFF AND IT'S ALL THE LIGHTS NOT JUST AIR BAG OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT IT WAS ALL THE LIGHTS. I READ ON THE INTERNET OTHER PEOPLE BEEN HAVING THE SAME ISSUE IT'S SCARY WHEN SOMEBODY IS EXPLAINING THE SAME THING THAT'S GOING ON IN YOUR CAR. IT IS UNKNOWN AT THIS TIME WHAT THIS PHANTOM PROBLEM IS AND IT'S HIGHLY DANGEROUS. I ALSO BOUGHT THIS JEEP USED AND DON'T KNOW IT THIS WAS HAPPENING BEFOREHAND. *HAVE A VIDEO BUT THIS SITE WON'T UPLOAD IT.
2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE V8 W/HEMI. TOOK THE JEEP TO A DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS FOR STALLING. THEY DETECTED A LEAK FROM THE AC UNIT AND A SEAL THAT WAS LETTING THE WATER ENTER THE TRANSMISSION THEY FLUSHED IT REFILLED IT. LOOK THAT RECALLS FOUND A RECALL NUMBER E-13 ON A 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE THAT STATED THE SAME THING CEPT FOR IF THE TORQUE CONVERTER IS COMPROMISED IT WOULD BE REPLACED. CALL THE CHRYSLER NUMBER OFFERED ON THE WEBSITE AND ASK THEM IF THERE WAS ANYTHING THEY COULD DO THEY STATED NO THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO SO IT'S GOING TO BE AN EXPENSE TO ME BECAUSE IT WASN'T STATED FOR THE V8 ENGINE IT WAS ONLY STATED FOR THE 3.7 LITER ENGINE. THIS IS VERY TROUBLING BECAUSE IF THEY DIDN'T DETECT THAT AND THE OTHER VEHICLES THEN OBVIOUSLY IT'S GOING TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT OR SOMETHING TO HAPPEN WHEN YOU LOSE POWER THROUGHOUT YOUR VEHICLE ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU'RE ON THE HIGHWAY OR EVEN A BUSY ROAD. I STATED TO THEM IT IS WORD FOR WORD AND WHAT WAS WRONG WITH MY CAR AND THEY STILL. AND BEING ON DISABILITY AT THE MOMENT AND TRYING TO PAY FOR THESE REPAIRS AND STILL PAYING THE CAR OFF IS VERY DIFFICULT. I WOULD LIKE THIS ISSUE TO BE RESOLVED BY THE CHRYSLER. IF THEY NEGLECTED TO SEE ANY ISSUES IN THE V8 MODEL THAT OCCURRED IN THE 3.7 LITER ENGINE MODEL THERE WILL PROBABLY BE LAWSUITS AGAINST THEM. IT IS FRUSTRATING THAT THIS IS HAPPENING AND THEY CAN'T HELP A JEEP OWNER OUT PROBABLY WILL NEVER BITE YOU AGAIN. LET'S JUST HOPE MY ENGINE DON'T CATCH ON FIRE EITHER. BEING AFRAID TO DRIVE A CAR IS NOT OK EXPECIALLY WHEN IT'S THE ONLY CAR YOU HAVE AND YOU CAN'T AFFORD TO REPAIR OR BUY A NEW ONE CUZ YOU'RE ON DISABILITY.

LOOKED ON THE INTERNET QUITE A FEW OTHER PEOPLE HAD EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM SOME STILL COULDN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT IT WAS WHEN THEY TOOK IT TO THE AUTO MECHANIC SHOPS. WAS WONDERING IF THIS WAS PART OF A RECALL. THIS COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT WHEN YOU LOSE POWER AND YOU'RE DRIVING DOWN THE STREET. THIS STARTED HAPPENING A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SECURITY MODE FAILED, WHICH PREVENTED THE VEHICLE FROM STARTING. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE DOOR PANELS IN THE FRONT ROW HAVE CRACKED AND BROKEN TO THE POINT WHERE THE DOOR HANDLE IS JUST HANGING. YOU CAN NOT GET OUT OF THE CAR USING THE DOOR HANDLES FROM THE INSIDE. YOU MUST EITHER REACH OUT THE WINDOW OUR HAVE SOMEONE OPEN IT FROM THE OUTSIDE. THE SAME THING HAPPENED IN 2015 TO THE REAR DOOR PANELS/HANDLES. THIS IS NOT NORMAL WEAR OR TEAR. THE DEALERSHIP AGREED. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AS ONE CAN NOT GET OUT OF THE CAR QUICKLY IF NEEDED. DOOR PANELS SHOULD JUST NOT CRACK, ESPECIALLY ALL FOUR. THERE MUST BE AN ISSUE WITH THE MATERIALS THAT WERE USED. THERE IS NOT FIX FOR THE DOOR HANDLES EXCEPT TO REPLACE THE DOOR PANELS, WHICH IS COSTLY. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS SAFETY ISSUE. THANK YOU.
DOOR HANDLES BROKEN DRIVER SIDE AND REAR PASSENGER DOOR HANDLE ALSO BROKEN. PLASTIC BROKEN THAT HOLD HANDLE IN PLACE.
ISSUE 1 - ALL THE INTERNAL DOOR HANDLED HAVE BROKEN. THIS LIMITS PASSENGER EGRESS IN THE EVEN OF AN ACCIDENT. ISSUE 2 - THIS PAST WEEKEND ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE CAR FLICKERED AND BRIEFLY TURNED OFF WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT ON THE HIGHWAY. THIS INCLUDES THE HEADLIGHTS, PARKING LIGHTS, FOG LIGHTS, AND ALL INTERIOR LIGHTS. IT APPEARS THERE IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE LIGHT SWITCH MECHANISM IN THE MULTI FUNCTION TURN SIGNAL ASSEMBLY. THIS PRESENT A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION IF TRAVELING ON A TWO LANE RURAL ROAD. *TR
HATCHBACK FAILED TO STAY OPENED AND SLAMMED ON HAND. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENED WITH THIS VEHICLE. HAD HATCHBACK CYLINDER REPLACED AFTER FIRST TIME BY DEALER. NO INJURY FIRST TIME. SECOND TIME MEDICAL EXPENSES. NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY BOTH TIMES IN DRIVEWAY.

THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A CONCUSSION, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 142,000.

AIRBAG LIGHT HAS COME ON AND THE JEEP DEALERSHIP WANTS TO CHARGE ME A FEE FOR THEM TO LOOK AT IT AND THEN FIX THE ISSUE. I HAVE READ ON MULTIPLE SITES THAT THIS IS A REOCCURRING ISSUE WITH MY SPECIFIC MODEL AND YEAR. JEEP WANTS TO CHARGE ITS CUSTOMERS A FEE TO PROPERLY MAINTAIN A SAFETY FUNCTION THE VEHICLE THAT WOULD SAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE CASE OF AN ACCIDENT.

"UNINTENDED POWER ROLL-AWAY IN REVERSE AFTER PARKING JEEP GRANDE CHEROKEE" 6CLY. VEHICLE ENGINE RUNNING AND IN PARK. DRIVER OPENED DOOR TO EXIT AND VEHICLE BEGAN TO TRAVEL BACKWARD UNDER POWER OF ENGINE ON LEVEL SURFACE. THE OPEN DOOR KNOCKED DRIVER DOWN ON FLAT CONCRETE CARPORT AND LEFT FRONT WHEEL RAN OVER DRIVER IN THE PROCESS. 76 YR OLD WOMAN - BREAKING HER LEGS AND HEAD INJURY. THE EVENT WAS WITNESSED BY HUSBAND WHO JUMPED IN CAR TO STOP IT BY CUTTING ENGINE OFF AND RETURNING SHIFT LEVER TO PARK. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY ON FLAT CONCRETE CAR PORT OF HOME. THE VEHICLE WENT OFF THE ROAD AND ABOUT 15 FEET NOSE FIRST INTO A GULLY. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONSUMER STATED A RECALL WAS LATER RELEASED THAT APPEARED TO HAVE BEEN RELATED TO THE FAILURES. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE FAILURE WAS NOT RELATED TO THE RECALL. *JS
REMEDY: CHRYSLER INTENDS TO REPAIR VEHICLES FREE OF CHARGE (PARTS AND LABOR). HOWEVER, THE PART REQUIRED TO PROVIDE A PERMANENT REMEDY FOR THIS CONDITION IS CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE. CHRYSLER IS MAKING EVERY EFFORT TO PROVIDE THE PART AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE. ****THIS WAS 2014, NO UPDATES SO FAR AS TO PARTS BEING AVAILABLE. TWO YEARS IS NOT TIMELY.
MY JEEP JUMPS TO THIRD GEAR RANDOMLY, AND IT ENDS UP JITTERING AND SHAKING. MY CAR GOT STUCK SO MANY TIMES AND ENDED UP BEING STALLED ON A BUSY HIGHWAY AND ALMOST GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT. I WAS ONCE PARKED AND HAD SHIFTED TO DRIVE BUT INSTEAD THE JEEP SUDDENLY JUMPED TO 3RD AND MY CAR STARTED TO GO BACKWARDS AND ENDED UP HITTING ANOTHER CAR BEHIND ME. I HAD TO PAY THE GUY $500 AND ALSO GOT ALL THE FLUIDS AND OILS CHANGED IN HOPES OF GETTING THIS FIXED, BUT TO NO AVAIL. YESTERDAY, I SPENT $450 ON THESE FLUID AND OIL CHANGES ONLY TO HAVE THE PROBLEM CONTINUE. THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES AND JEEP HAS NO ANSWERS. YOU GUYS NEED TO DO A TOTAL VEHICLE RECALL SINCE JEEP HAS NO ANSWERS. MANY PEOPLE CAN DIE FROM THIS DEFECT. I HAVE A VIDEO TO PROVE THE CAR JUMPING TO THIRD AND ALL THE ISSUES I JUST DESCRIBED.

THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. THE MANUFACTURER AND THE DEALER WERE MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,000.

THE CENTER BACK SEAT SEATBELT WILL NOT COME LOOSE. IT IS TIGHTENED AND WILL NOT RETRACT. I HAVE TO PUT MY SIX YEAR OLD ON THE LEFT PASSENGER SIDE BECAUSE I CANNOT SEAT HER IN THE MIDDLE. IT'S CONCERNING IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT, MY CHILD IS SUSCEPTIBLE TO MORE INJURIES SINCE I CANNOT PROPERLY SEAT HER IN THE MIDDLE SEAT IN THE BACK. ALSO, WHEN IT RAINS, THE CAR LEAKS INTO THE INSIDE. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR QUITE SOMETIME. I DON'T UNDERSTAND IT. I SPOKE WITH MY COUSIN WHO ALSO OWNS A BRAND NEW JEEP AND EVEN HERS DOES THIS AS WELL.
BROKEN REAR DOOR HANDEL'S REAR DOORS WON'T OPEN FROM INSIDE. MY CHILDREN AND OTHER PASSENGERS ARE TRAPPED INSIDE UNTIL I GET OUT AND UNLOCK DOORS THEN OPEN THE DOORS FROM THE OUTSIDE FOR THEM. COULD BE A SAFETY HAZARD, IF WRECK OR SOMETHING HAPPENED TO FRONT DOORS AND WAS TRAPPED INSIDE I COULD NOT EXIT EXCEPT THRU REAR DOORS BUT.THEY DO NOT OPEN FROM.INSIDE POTENTIALLY MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO GET OUT. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND SHOULD BE FIXED.
THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES ARE BREAKING. MY DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR HANDLE HAS COMPLETELY BROKEN OFF WHICH MAKES AN ESCAPE IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY. THIS AFFECTS ALL INTERIOR HANDLES. AND IS AFFECTING SEVERAL THOUSAND OWNERS OF JEEPS GC AND THE COST OF THE REPAIR IS PROHIBITIVE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY THE COMPANY WHO CHOSE TO USE FRAIL PLASTIC THAT BREAKS EASILY.
"TAKATA RECALL" I PURCHASED A JEEP FOR 7,500. PUT 3,000 DOWN AND FINANCED THE REST. NEXT DAY, THE AXLE BOOT WAS BROKE. TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED IT. AT THAT TIME, I REALIZED THEY GAVE ME A 29% FINANCE RATE. SO I BOUGHT THEY VEHCILE RIGHT OUT BY WRITING A CHECK FOR $4890. WITH ASKING IF THE VEHCILE HAD ANY MAJOR ISSUES OR BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR ANY SERIOUS ENGINE OR TRANSMISSION WORK, I WAS PROMISED THE VEHCILE WAS IN GOOD STANDING CONDITION. NEXT DAY, WITH MY FIANCE AND MY 20 MONTH OLD SON IN THE NEWLY PURCHASED VEHCILE, HEADED OUT FOR A VACATION. ABOUT 10 MINS FROM OUR HOME AND THE AXLE THEY JUST REPLACEDON'T BROKE AND THE TRANSMISSION WENT. THE VEHCILE HAD NO EMERGENCY BRAKES AND NO HEAR, NOT EVEN PARK. I HAD TO PULL INTO A PERSON'S YARD AND DO DONUTS UNTIL IT STOPPED. GOT IT TOWED HOME AND CALLED THE BANK AND CANCELLED THE CHECK. NOW THE HAVE TOWED THE VEHCILE AWAY AND SAY I WRITE BAD CHECKS. YET I HAVE PAPERWORK FROM THE BANK SUPPORTING MY CANCELLATION ON THE CHECK AND RECORD OF FUNDS TO PURCHASE THE VEHCILE. SEEKING LEGAL ADVICE NOW. I DID PURCHASE "AS IS"....YET, THAT DOESN'T UPHOLD TO FRAUD AND WARRANTY OF MECHANISM ON THE VEHCILE.

THE PASSENGER SEAT BELT WILL NOT HOOK. NEEDED TO PUSH THE RELEASE BUTTON TO ENGAGE THE SEAT BELT. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY IN PARK. I HAVE THE MALFUNCTIONING SEAT BELT FOR YOUR EXAMINATION. JUST SEND ME AN ADDRESS. THE SEAT BELT AND PRETENSIONER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. A $351.23 REPAIR.
HAVE A 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LIMITED. ISSUE IS STARTER WIRING HARNESS IS ROUTED TO CLOSE TO THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD. THE WIRES HAVE BEEN MELTED BY THE HEAT. AT TIMES THE JEEP WILL NOT START DO TO ONE OF THE WIRES CONDITION FROM THE HEAT. IF YOU DRIVE THRU A LARGE WATER PUDDLE IT PULLS THE WIRE OFF THE STARTER & JEEP WILL NOT START. YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE THE CONNECTOR IS MELTED DO TO EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT. I HAVE DONE A LITTLE RESEARCH & MANY OTHERS HAVE REPORTED SIMILAR ISSUES. THE WIRING DAMAGED IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE. ALSO I AM POSITIVE MANY PEOPLE HAVE BEEN CHARGED FOR A NEW STARTER WHEN IT IS SIMPLY A WIRE CONNECTION ISSUE. WE HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE HAPPEN SEVERAL TIMES IN THE PAST 2 YEARS. ONLY TOOK IT HAPPENING THE SECOND TIME & I FIGURED OUT WHAT THE ISSUE WAS. WE TO REPLACED THE STARTER TO FIND MELTED WIRING LOOM GOING TO STARTER. THE ISSUE STILL COMES UP FROM TIME TO TIME. IT IS ALWAYS THE BLADE CONNECTION GOING TO STARTER. DO TO THE MELTING OF INSULATION ON WIRES THE CONNECTOR HAS LOST ITS ABILITY TO STAY CONNECTED.

THIS PROBLEM IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS & COULD QUITE EASILY LEAD TO A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. WHEN MY LOCAL JEEP FIXED RECALLS I ASKED ABOUT THE IGNITION SWITCH PROBLEM THAT I'VE READ ABOUT ON THE INTERNET, ASKING IF THEY HAD REPLACED IT AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY HAD REPROGRAMMED THE SYSTEM SO SHOULD BE OKAY. WELL, THE ISSUE IS STILL VERY MUCH ALIVE AND FAR FROM OKAY.
THE KEY FOR MY VEHICLE WILL NO LONGER WORK. THE BUTTONS WILL NOT UNLOCK THE JEEP. WHEN TRYING TO UNLOCK THE VEHICLE, I HAVE TO UNLOCK WITH THE PHYSICAL KEY, THEN EXPERIENCE THE ALARM GOING OFF TO GET INTO THE CAR. THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING FOR OVER THE LAST YEAR. CHANGING THE BATTERY DOES NOT HELP.
DOOR HANDLES ON REAR DOORS COMPLETELY BROKEN OFF. IN AN EMERGENCY, MY CHILD COULD NOT GET OUT OF THE CAR. THE CAR WAS PARKED AND THE DOORS WOULD NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE. IF THE CAR WAS IN A MORE SERIOUS EMERGENCY...FLOOD, FIRE, CRASH, ANYONE IN THE BACKSEAT COULD NOT GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE.
AIR BAG DASH LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYS ON AFTER STARTUP. I TOOK THE JEEP IN TO TEXAN : JEEP AT 18555 59 N HUMBLE, TEXAS 77338 TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT ON 9/03/16.THEY SAID IT WAS NOT COMMUTICATING WITH THE PCM AND THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR THE AIRBAG PROBLEM. SO IT WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE AIR BAG LIGHT STAYS ON. INSTEAD THEY PREFORMED 3 OTHER SAFTEY RECALLS THEY SAID THE JEEP NEEDED BUT AIR BAG PROBLEM THE WOULD NOT FIX.
