THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE KEY WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED WITH A NEW ONE PRIOR TO THE RECALL REMEDY BEING PERFORMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 145,000.

INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES ARE MADE OF CHEEP PLASTIC AND PREMATURELY WEARING OUT CAUSING THEM TO SHATTER MAKING THEM INOPERABLE SO THAT OCCUPANTS ARE UNABLE TO EXIT THE VEHICLE IN CASE OF EMERGENCY

VEHICLE WITHOUT ANY WARNING, STALLS, LOSES POWER, WILL NOT ACCELERATE, LOSS OF POWER MEANS LOSS STEARING AND BRAKING. THIS HAS OCCURED THREE TIMES, ALMOST RESULTING IN CATASTROPHIC ACCIDENTS.

I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP, MARBURGER DODGE IN SHELBY NC AND HELD ON LINE FOR 10TO 15 MINUTES AND LEFT SEVERAL MESSAGES AND THEY WILL NOT RETURN MY CALL OR ANSWER THE PHONE ABOUT THIS RECALL

2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE STARTER SWITCH RECALL PARTS STILL NOT AVAILABLE. *SMD
I BOUGHT THIS CAR NOV. 2015. (CAR WAS STATIONARY) I DID NOT KNOW THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH SEAT BELT UNTIL I TRIED PUT MY GRAND CHILD IN MIDDLE BACK SEAT AND NOTICED THE SEAT BELT WAS STUCK AND WAS NOT USABLE. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH, AND READING OTHER COMPLAINTS ON SAME ISSUE, IT TURNS OUT THEIR IS A PROBLEM WITH THE SEAT BELT RETRACTOR. THIS IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE AS WELL AS A LAW THAT ALL MUST WEAR THEM. WHEN WE TOOK THE CAR TO DEALER THE TO FIX 2 OTHER RECALL ISSUES THEY SAID IT WOULD COST AT LEAST $500 TO FIX THE SEAT BELT ISSUE AND THAT IT MIGHT HAPPEN AGAIN! I STRONGLY FEEL SOMETHING SHOULD BE DONE ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND THAT IT'S THE COMPANY'S RESPONSIBILITY TO FIX THIS SAFETY ISSUE!

I WAS LEAVING THE CAR WASH AND AFTER PUTTING THE GRAND CHEROKEE IN DRIVE WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE IT ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN AND THE BRAKES WERE NOT RESPONSIVE. UNABLE TO STOP OR SLOW DOWN, TO AVOID TRAFFIC, I CRASHED INTO A STONE WALL. THE CAR IS TOTALED AND I HAD SERIOUS INJURY TO MY HEAD AS THE AIRBAG ALSO DID NOT DEPLOY.

RECALL FOR IGNITION SWITCH WAS COMPLETED UNSATISFACTORILY BY THE DEALER. 1) IT IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO GET THE KEY TO TURN. THE NEW DESIGN TAKES EXCESSIVE FORCE TO PUSH THE KEY IN AND THEN TURN, AND, AGAIN, EXCESSIVE FORCE TO PUSH THE KEY IN AND REMOVE THE KEY. THIS REPAID IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE TO ME, 2) NEW KEY BARREL, OR WHATEVER THEY INSTALLED IN THE STEERING COLUMN, DOES NOT ALIGN UP IN THE HOLE IN THE DASHBOARD AND IS IMMEDIATELY NOTICEABLE LOOKING AT THE DASH BOARD. THIS, TOO, IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. 3) A GOOFY LOOKING STICKER WAS ATTACHED TO THE DASHBOARD NEXT TO THE STEERING COLUMN KEY HOW. IS THAT PART OF THE "RECALL"? ARE WE SUPPOSED TO KEEP POST-IT TYPE NOTES ON OUR DASH FOR SAFETY? YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME. TIGHTNESS IN GETTING KEY TO TUN ON OR OFF IS OCCURRING AT ALL TIMES, EVERY TIME.

RECALL P41 ON 11/8/2015-I WAS DRIVING MY 05JGCL AND I HAD A BLOW OUT IN THE R/F WHEEL CAUSING ME TO BOUNCE AROUND AND LOSE CONTROL OF VEHICLE WHERE MY KNEE CAME IN TO CONTACT WITH THE IGNITON CAUSING MY VEHICLE TO TURN OFF- WHEN TRYING TO RESTART THE JEEP THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME STOPPED SHORT I THEN FORCED WHEEL TO THE RIGHT AND I CAME INTO CONTACT WITH A UTILITY POLE CAUSING TOTAL LOSS OF VEHICLE
I ALSO HAVE A 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LMTD AND THE DRIVER'S SIDE INTERIOR DOOR PANEL IS BROKEN AROUND THE DOOR HANDLE. THE DOOR HANDLE IS HANGING ON BY THE CABLES. I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THIS FOR OVER 2 YEARS. THE ONLY REASON THE OTHER DOOR INTERIOR PANELS HAVEN'T BROKEN YET IS PROBABLY BECAUSE THEY ARE RARELY USED. I DO NOT KNOW WHY JEEP HAS NOT BEEN SUPPORTIVE ENOUGH TO HAVE A RECALL TO REPLACE ALL 4 DOOR PANELS SINCE THEY ARE AWARE OF THE CHEAP PLASTIC THAT WAS USED. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. I DON'T EVEN KNOW IF I COULD GET MY DOOR OPEN IN A CRASH.

THE INSIDE DOOR HANDLES HAVE BEEN BREAKING OFF OVER THE PAST TWO YEARS. ONLY DOWN TO ONE LEFT ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. TOO EXPENSIVE TO FIX AT DEALERSHIP. SEVERE SAFETY ISSUE.
WE HAVE ONLY HAD THIS JEEP FOR 2 YEARS WHEN WE GOT IT LOOKED GOOD IT ONLY HAD 80,000 MILES ON IT NOW 118,000 FRONT BALL BEARING BROKE WHILE WE WERE DRIVING IT FORTUNATELY WE WERE IN A ALLEY BEHIND OUR HOUSE THE AUTO MECHANIC SAID IF WE WERE DRIVING IT ON THE MAIN ROAD WE COULD OF FLIPPED IT OVER AND WE COULD OF GOT KILLED HE CHECKED THE OTHER SIDE AND SAID IT WAS GOING BAD TOO. I CALLED THE RECALL CENTER MULTIPLE TIMES SPEAKING WITH BRIANA, TIFFANY AND SHELENA (SUPERVISOR) REGARDING RECALL P41. ALL OF THEM STATED AND HAVE DOCUMENTED THAT I WOULD BE RECEIVING 2 NEW KEYS WHEN THEY FIX MY RECALL. THE DEALERSHIP IS REFUSING TO GIVE ME NEW KEYS. I THINK IT IS UNPROFESSIONAL TO MISINFORM YOUR CUSTOMERS AND NOT HOLD TRUE TO YOUR WORD. I HAVE BEEN EXPECTING NEW KEYS BECAUSE I AM HAVING ISSUES WITH MINE AND NOW THEY ARE REFUSING TO REPLACE IT. I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR OVER A YEAR FOR A SOLUTION FOR THIS RECALL AND NOW THIS.

THE DEALER REPLACED THE NEW IGNITION WITH A USED, NON-COMPLIANT IGNITION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND STATED THAT THE DEALER FAILED TO FOLLOW PROPER PROCEDURES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND WAS AWAITING A NEW IGNITION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 16,787.

JUST RECEIVED ANOTHER RECALL NOTICE OF SAME AND DEALERSHIP AGAIN STATED THEY HAVE NO PARTS TO REPAIR THIS SAFETY RECALL.
