TOOK MY JEEP TO AUTONATION IN LITTLETON CO. FOR BRAKE BOOSTER RECALL. NOT SURE WHAT IF ANYTHING WAS DONE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. I CONTINUE TO HAVE DIFFICULTY STOPPING AND CAN HEAR A HISSING NOISE WHEN THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE COMMITMENT FROM THIS JEEP DEALER TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM. I PLAN ON TAKING ALTERNATIVE OPTIONS FOR REPAIR. BUT WANTED TO FILE A FORMAL COMPLAINT. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS ISSUE AND ONE THAT COULD CAUSE SERIOUS HARM TO ME OR SOMEONE ELSE.
THE LEATHER ON THE DASHBOARD IS CURLING AND WRINKLING UP ESPECIALLY ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. I AM CONCERNED WITH IT INTERFERING WITH THE DEPLOYMENT OF THE AIRBAG.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DASHBOARD LEATHER LINER PEELED OFF AND WAS BLOCKING THE AIR VENTS. DUE TO THE FAILURE, THE WINDOWS COULD NOT BE DEFROSTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000.
THE CAR WILL COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN ALL POWER OFF WHEN SLOWING DOWN OR COMING TO A STOP THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES IN THE PAST YEAR AND HAS BECOME VERY DANGEROUS WENT OUT ON THE ROAD COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT OR DEATH PLEASE HELP

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76,000.
VEHICLE STALLED WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREET THEN LOCKED UP AND WOULDNT START OR MOVE FROM PARK, DASH READING SAID IT WAS IN DRIVE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS STRUCK ON THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A COLLISION SHOP AND LATER TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
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
MY WIFE AND I RECEIVED A NOTICE THAT OUR JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE HAD A RECALL ON SUN VISORS AND VANITY LAMP WIRING. THE LETTER STATED WE NEEDED TO CONTACT OUR CHRYSLER DEALER AND SCHEDULE A APPOINTMENT AS TO BE SURE THEY HAD THE PARTS TO FIX IT. WE CALLED AUGUST 10 AND WERE TOLD TO HAVE JEEP ON THERE LOT AT 9 A.M. ON AUGUST 13 AND THEY WOULD HAVE THE PARTS THERE TO FIX IT. THIS WAS CUMBERLAND CHRYSLER, COOKEVILLE TENNESSEE. WE ARRIVED ON TIME AND DROPPED IT OFF AND WERE TOLD IT WOULD TAKE ABOUT 3 HOURS TO FIX. AT 11:10 SOMEONE FROM THE DEALERSHIP CALLED AND TOLD US THEY DID'NT HAVE THE PARTS! MY WIFE AND I GOT UP EARLY ON A SATURDAY MORNING TO HAVE THE JEEP ON THERE LOT BY 9 AND THIS IS WHAT WE GET! ALSO WHY CALL AND MAKE AN APPOINTMENT IF THE DEALERSHIP IS NOT GOING TO KEEP IT. THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO START ON IT AT 9 A.M. AND DIDN'T EVEN BOTHER TO START UNTIL 11:10! JUST WANTED TO GIVE CHRYSLER A HEADS UP ABOUT THIS DEALERSHIP AND TO INFORM THEM TO NOT PAY THEM FOR FIXING THIS VEHICLE! JUST IN CASE THEY SUMMIT A CLAIM BECAUSE THEY DID NOT DO ANYTHING. THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
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
THE ALTERNATOR IS BAD I HAVE CHANGE THE BATTERY TWICE, WHEN I RESERCH I FOUND OUT THAT THE ALTERNATOR ARE THE SAME WITH DURANGO AND THEY ARE RECALLED. IT STOPPED ON THE ROAD TWICE. I HAVE TO CALL TRIPLE A TO TOW IT.
DECELERATING AND TURNING RIGHT VEHICLE STALLS COMPLETELY, FIFTH TIME THIS HAPPENED IN THREE WEEKS.
HAVE BEEN RECEIVING RECALLS FOR A YEAR MAYBE ON PROBLEM WITH VISORS. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO DEALER 3 TIMES,, NO PARTS AVAILABLE. I CALLED DAIMLER CHRYSLER AND WAS "PUT ON A LIST". THAT WAS MONTHS AGO .. NOW I HAVE RECEIVED ANOTHER RECALL NOTICE FOR THE SAME PROBLEM!

I HAVE A RECALL AND THE DEALER, NIELSEN DODGE CHRYSLER RAM IN EAST HANOVER NJ WOULD NOT HONOR THE RECALL AND FIX MY RECALL. DEPLORABLE SERVICE AND SHOULD BE STRIPPED OF THEIR DEALERSHIP LICENSE FOR SAFETY REASONS

FROM 2012 I'VE BEEN EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH MY VEHICLE HAVING A HARD START AND STALLING WHILE DRIVING IT EVENTUALLY GOT WORST AND ON 7/28/16 IT STALLED AND NEVER START AGAIN. I SMELL SOMETHING BURNING UNDER THE HOOD BUT DON'T KNOW WHAT IT IS. I AM NOW OUT OF A VEHICLE BECAUSE FOR FOUR YEARS A SOLUTION NOT FOUND FOR THE PROBLEM. MY SOLUTION IS THAT THE WHOLE VEHICLE NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN PUTTING MY FAMILY IN DANGER FOR YEARS.

IT STALLS ABOUT 3 TO 4 TIMES JUST TO GO FROM POINT A TO POINT B WHICH IS NORMALLY 2 MILES OR LESS. TWICE SOMEONE ALMOST REAR END ME BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM. THE DASHBOARD LEATHER HAS SEVERELY WRINKLED WHICH COULD EFFECT THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYING PROPERLY. I REPORTED THIS TO CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE WHICH DID NOT TO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THEY CHUCKLED ABOUT THE ISSUE. THE ISSUE HAPPENED DURING THE SUMMER WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN THE GARAGE.
JEEP GC2011 STALLS WHILING DRIVING. ONGOING SINCE 2012; MECHANICS HAVE DONE A LOT OF SERVICE AND REPAIR VERY COSTLY OUT OF MY POCKET EXPENCES BUT HAS NOT FIXED THE STALLING. SAYS IT MAYBE THE ALTERNATOR, THROTTLE OR IGNITION PROBLEM. THE 2011 MODEL SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE CHRYSLER RECALL #T36 (NHTSA #17V435).
1ST THE SENSOR FOR "KEY NOT DETECTED" DISPLAYED.I HAD IT FIXED AT THE DEALERSHIP. SHORTLY AFTER, IT RETURNED BUT THIS TIME ALL THE SENSORS ON THE DASH LIT UP AND THE VEHICLE TRANSMISSION DROPPED IN GEAR. ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED BY A TRUCK ON THE HIGHWAY.THE SPEEDOMETER SHUT DOWN AND THE WIPERS TURNED ON. I PULLED OVER AND TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE. ONCE IT FINALLY RESTARTED, IT WOULD NOT GET OFF THE PARK GEAR. FINALLY AFTER 4 ATTEMPTS IT RESTARTED AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME. IT DIED IN MY DRIVEWAY. WOULD NOT RESTART .I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER. ITS BEEN THERE FOR APPROX. 2 WEEKS. THEY SAID THEY CANT FIND THE PROBLEM AND HAVE CALLED THEY'RE TECHS AT THEY'RE CORPORATE HEAD QUARTER'S TO ASSIST THEM. ACCORDING TO MANY FORUMS ON LINE THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL. THE DEALER ADMITTED TO FINDING A MELTED PART. THIS IS A COSTLY REPAIR THAT THEY CLAIM MY WARRANTY WILL NOT COVER! MY VEHICLE DRAMATICALLY DROPPED IN SPEED WHILE DRIVING ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY. IF THAT'S NOT CONSIDERED A SAFETY ISSUE AND THE FACT THAT THERE IS AN OBVIOUS FIRE HAZARD WITH THE DASH OR THE FUSE BOX IS INSANE!! THERE IS A HIGH POTENTIAL FOR AN ELECTRICAL FIRE TO BREAK OUT DUE TO A FAULTY DESIGN. THE VEHICLE IS ELECTRONIC AND THE TRANSMISSION HAS FEATURES THAT CHANGES THE OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING! I WOULD LIKE TO SEE ANYONE DRIVE IN FRONT OF A TRACTOR TRAILER ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY AND SUDDENLY DROP THE TRANSMISSION TO 1ST GEAR (HIGH RPM AND DRAMATICALLY DROPS SPEED) AND SEE HOW ALL OF THE SUDDEN YOU CAN CREATE A MAJOR ACCIDENT LIKE I ALMOST DID! THIS NEEDS TO BE LOOKED INTO.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO OPELIKA FORD CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (801 COLUMBUS PKWY, OPELIKA, AL 36801 (334) 749-8113) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE OIL FILTER HOUSING WAS CRACKED, WHICH CAUSED THE LEAK. THE OIL FILTER HOUSING NEEDED REPLACEMENT, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO COST. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND A CASE WAS OPENED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER DENIED THE REPAIRS DUE TO THE HIGH MILEAGE OF THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 89,000. *TT UPDATED 9/19/18*JB
ALTERNATOR HAS FAILED. CHARGING FAULT AND BATTERY FAULT LIGHT CAME ON SHORTLY BEFORE VEHICLE DIED COMPLETELY. UPON REPLACING BATTERY, VEHICLE STARTED BUT BATTERY DID NOT CHARGE AND DIED AGAIN WHILE DRIVING CAUSING A STALL IN TRAFFIC WITHOUT SUFFICIENT CHARGE TO POWER HAZARD FLASHERS NECESSITATING A TOW TRUCK TO COME AND REMOVE VEHICLE.
WHEN TRAVELING LONG DISTANCE OR AT HIGH SPEED THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND TRACTION CONTROL LOCKS ITSELF OFF AND WON'T LET IT ACCELERATE UNTIL YOU TURN THE CAR OFF THEN BACK ON. HAS DONE IT MULTIPLE TIMES NOW AFTER REPLACING THE CAMSHAFT SENSOR EACH TIME
2011 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE REAR DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS FAILED CAUSING THE REAR DOORS TO NOT LOCK WITH THE CENTRAL LOCKING SYSTEM. *SMD
I TOOK MY 2011 GRAND CHEROKEE TO THE DEALER FOR THE NORMAL MAINTENANCE. HOWEVER, THERE WERE A COUPLE OF RECALLS SO I ASKED THEM TO TAKE CARE OF THEM. RECALLS WERE RELATED TO THE FUEL PUMP RELAY AND TO THE SUN VISOR (WHICH APPARENTLY CAN SHORT-CIRCUIT AND CAUSE A FIRE). THERE WAS A FIRMWARE UPDATE FOR THE TIPM ALSO SO I GOT THAT DONE TOO. 3 WEEKS LATER, I GET ON MY CAR, I PUT THE IGNITION TO ON AND THE WIPERS WENT ON, I TRIED TO TURN THEM OFF AND I COULDN'T. THIS IS A LIST OF ALL THE SYMPTOMS: - TURN SIGNALS NOT WORKING - REAR WIPER NOT WORKING - FRONT WIPERS ON - TRACTION CONTROL OFF AND NO WAY TO TURN IT BACK ON - BUTTONS ON THE STEERING WHEEL NOT WORKING, NONE OF THEM, EXCEPT FOR THE ONES THAT CONTROL THE RADIO - HEATED STEERING WHEEL, TOW/HAUL, TRACTION CONTROL AND 110V PLUG SWITCHES NOT RESPONDING - INTERIOR LIGHTS NOT WORKING - HEADLIGHTS WORKED BUT NO WAY TO CONTROL HIGH OR LOW BEAMS I DID SOME RESEARCH ONLINE, FOUND THAT SOME OTHER PEOPLE WERE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AND SOME OF THEM SAID THAT THEY HAD THE ISSUE RESOLVED BY LEAVING THE BATTERY UNPLUGGED OVERNIGHT, IT DIDNT WORK. I TOOK THE WIPERS OUT (SINCE I COULDN'T TURN THEM OFF) AND TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALER (WITHOUT TURN SIGNALS). THEY'VE HAD THE CAR FOR 2 DAYS ALREADY, YESTERDAY THEY CALLED ME BACK AND TOLD ME THEY WERE STILL TRYING TO DETERMINATE THE ISSUE BUT THAT IT COULD BE A DEFECTIVE TIPM. I HAVE NO IDEA OF HOW MUCH THIS IS GOING TO COST TO GET FIXED BUT THE TRUTH IS, I GOT THIS CAR 2 MONTHS AGO, LOOKED PERFECTLY FINE, VERY WELL MAINTAINED AND NOW I WILL PROBABLY HAVE TO PUT MORE MONEY OUT OF MY POCKET TO GET THIS THING RESOLVED. READING ON THE FORUMS I HAVE ALSO BECOME AWARE OF THE BIG SAFETY ISSUES THAT A FAULTY TIPM MAY CAUSE, READ OF PEOPLE'S CARS STALLING IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC! I AM REALLY CONCERNED NOW ABOUT MY SAFETY AND I WISH I DIDN'T BUY THIS CAR.

WAS SLOWING DOWN FROM 50 MPH TO MAKE A LEFT HAND TURN. AS I WAS ENTERING THE TURN, AT ABOUT 30 MPH, THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. ALL DASH LIGHTS STILL FUNCTIONAL, RADIO WAS STILL ON, TURN SIGNAL STILL ON. THERE WAS NO SPUTTERING. LOST POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKING (AND ANY OTHER ITEMS THAT ARE NOT FUNCTIONAL WHILE IN "RUN" MODE). SHIFTED TO "NEUTRAL", BUT IT WOULD NOT START BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION WAS NOT IN "PARK". PULLED TO THE SIDE AND STOPPED THE VEHICLE, PUT IT IN "PARK". STARTED LIKE NOTHING HAD HAPPENED. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS BEFORE SHUTDOWN, THERE ARE NO SERVICE LIGHTS OR OBD II CODES STORED IN COMPUTER. WAS USING THE PUSH BUTTON STARTER, THE KEY FOB WAS IN MY POCKET.
AC/HEATING BLEND DOORS HOT ON ONE SIDE AND COLD ON THE OTHER NO MATTER WHAT THE SETTINGS ARE ON. SAID IT'S THE CONSUMERS RESPONSIBILITY TO FIX $767....BUT THERE ARE TONS OF COMPLAINTS FOUND ON GOOGLE AND FROM SPEAKING TO OTHER JEEP OWNERS.
THE AIR LIFT SYSTEM FAILED AND MY CAR WAS VERY LOW TO THE GROUND AND UNSAFE FOR DRIVING. THIS OCCURRED MARCH 6, 2018. DASH LEATHER IS LIFTING AND BUNCHING. STARTED IN JUNE 2017 AND IS WORSE NOW. PASSENGER SEAT BELT IS SOMETIMES JAMMED WITH PASSENGER IN IT. YOU CAN MOVE FREELY AND MY CONCERN IF THERE WERE TO BE A CRASH, WOULD THE SEAT BELT WORK PROPERLY. NONE OF THESE THINGS SHOULD NOT FAIL IN A 6 YEAR OLD VEHICLE.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V154000 (SERVICE BRAKES, SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC), BUT THE DEALER STATED THAT THE BOOSTER WAS PERFORMING NORMALLY AND ALL THE VEHICLE REQUIRED WAS THE SHIELD. THE REPAIR DID NOT CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.

THE MANUFACTURER COULD NOT PROVIDE AN ESTIMATED DATE FOR WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD RECEIVE THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT WAS NOT EXPERIENCING A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.

ON JUNE 5, 2016 @ 2:00AM I WAS AWAKENED BY POPPING SOUNDS FROM OUTSIDE. I GOT UP TO SEE AN ORANGE BALL OF LIGHT, I WENT TO THE WINDOW AND FELT THE HEAT FROM IT AND SEEN MY JEEP WAS ON FIRE. IF NOT FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT SHOWING UP MY HOUSE WOULD HAVE LIKELY BURNED ALSO. THE CAR WAS PARKED UNDER THE CARPORT IN THE DRIVEWAY AND NO ONE WAS DRIVING IT THE PREVIOUS DAY.
DRIVING W ON 60 IN AZ, 30 MINS AFTER HAVING OIL CHANGED AT LOCAL AUTO CARE SHOP, WHERE I WAS TOLD EVERYTHING LOOKED FINE BUT MY RADIATOR HOSES LOOKING SOFT. CONSIDER GETTING G NEW ONES IN THIS 112 DEGREE HEAT (LIKE THE DAY I'M SUBMITTING THIS). ON FREEWAY, ENGINE OVERHEATS, STALLS, STEERING LOCKS, BRAKES HARDEN AND I COME TO A COMPLETE STOP IN AN INCONVENIENT 2 INCHES OFF THE CURB, STILL IN EVERYONE'S WAY AS THEY ATTEMPT TO EXIT MILL AVE. BRAKES HARD AND DOESNT ALLOW FOR PUSH-TO-START BUTTON TO TURN OVER. NOR TO PLACE IN NEUTRAL. STANDING BY FOR A TOW AS WE SPEAK. NEVER HAD THIS HAPPEN BEFORE. COOLANT JUST TOPPED OFF THREE DAYS AGO AND GIVEN AN OKAY AFTER OIL CHANGE HALF HOUR PRIOR TO THIS HAPPENING. PERHAPS COINCIDENCE. PERHAPS JUST LIFE. REPORTING EITHER WAY.

ON MAY 28, 2016 WHILE NAVIGATING MY DRIVEWAY, MY CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATED FORWARD AND CRASHED INTO THE BACK WALL OF MY GARAGE. DAMAGE WAS DONE TO MY HOME AND MY CAR. I HAD NO CONTROL OVER THE VEHICLE. HITTING THE BRAKE AND TRYING TO HIT THE IGNITION BUTTON DID NOTHING TO STOP THE VEHICLE. ON ANOTHER OCCASION, ABOUT TWO WEEKS EARLIER, I HAD PARKED THE CAR AT WALMART, PRESSED THE BRAKE AND THE IGNITION BUTTON TO TURN IT OFF. WHILE IN PARK AND THE ENGINE OFF, THE VEHICLE LURCHED FORWARD AND BUMPED THE SUV SITTING IN FRONT OF ME. I AM NOW AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE! I HAVE REPORTED THIS INCIDENT TO MY LOCAL AUTO DEALERSHIP AND CHYSLER CORP. THE DAMAGE IS BEING REPAIRED AT MY COST.
THIS JEEP HAS THE ELECTRONIC SHIFTER. I VERY RARELY DRIVE IT AS IT IS MY WIFES CAR. I PULLED INTO A PARKING SPACE TODAY IN A POURING RAIN. I PUSHED THE SHIFTER ALL THE WAY FORWARD INTO PARK, HIT THE ENGINE SHUT OFF BUTTON, GRABBED THE KEY FOB, AND STEPPED OUT THE DOOR. TO MY HORROR I DISCOVERED THAT THE CAR WAS STILL RUNNING IN REVERSE. I HAD TO RUN SEVERAL STEPS AND DIVE INTO THE CAR AND PUSH THE BRAKE PEDAL DOWN WITH MY LEFT HAND AND SHIFT IT INTO PARK WITH MY RIGHT HAND. THE PARKING LOT WAS FULL OF PEOPLE INCLUDING MANY CHILDREN. HAD I NOT GOTTEN LUCKY AND STOOPED THE VEHICLE, THEIR COULD HAVE BEEN A TRAGEDY. I KNOW FROM THE NEWS THAT THERE IS A RECALL BEING CONSIDERED ON THIS DEADLY SHIFTER. IT CAN'T COME SOON ENOUGH.
