THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS ABLE TO EXTINGUISH THE FLAMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY SERVICED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V391000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V115000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM), BUT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,000. AS I WAS DRIVING TO WORK IN THE MORNING, MY VEHICLE STALLED COMPLETELY AND I HAD TO PUT MY HAZARDS ON IN THE MIDDLE OF THE LEFT SIDE LANE. LUCKILY, THERE WAS NO TRAFFIC BEHIND ME AND I WAS ABLE TO REMOVE THE KEY, RE-INSERT THE KEY AND THE VEHICLE STARTED UP AGAIN. I WASN'T GOING FAST AND THERE WASN'T TRAFFIC TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT BUT THIS HAS MADE ME FEAR OVERTIME I STEP FOOT INTO MY VEHICLE. I'M A WORKING MOTHER AND I NEED MY VEHICLE TO TRANSPORT MY FAMILY. I BOUGHT THE JEEP FROM VACAVILLE DODGE ABOUT A YEAR AGO AND THEY FAILED TO MENTION ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. ONE MONTH AFTER OWNING IT, I STARTED TO RECEIVE RECALL NOTICES. I DID TAKE IT IN AS SOON AS I GOT 3 IN A ROW. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THEY COULD FIX TWO ISSUES BUT ONE WOULD HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL THEY HAVE THE RIGHT PARTS. THIS TOOK TWO MONTHS BEFORE I COULD GET IT FIXED. NOW, I HAVE RECEIVED AN ADDITIONAL 3 RECALL NOTICES AND THE DEALERSHIP IS TELLING ME THEY WILL ADD ME TO A WAITLIST. THE DEALERSHIP HAS CONFIRMED THAT THEY WON'T HAVE ALL THE NECESSARY PARTS/TIME TO FIX THE RECALLS FOR ANOTHER COUPLE MONTHS. MY FAMILY'S LIVES ARE IN DANGER SO I HAVE CHOSEN TO USE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION WHICH IS A HUGE INCONVENIENCE. I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE BECAUSE I'VE ALWAYS TRUSTED THE DODGE, CHRYSLER, AND JEEP COMPANY. I'M MAKING PAYMENTS ON A VEHICLE THAT I CAN'T EVEN USE BECAUSE OF ALL THESE RECALLS.

AIR BAG FAILED TO DEPLOY WHEN MY WIFE HIT A DEER AT 70MPH,IT HIT DEAD CENTER OF THE BUMPER. THERE WAS $5473.84 DOLLARS OF DAMAGE. THE ABSORBER FOR THE BUMPER AND BUMPER AND BUMPER PARTS. THE GRILL,RADIATOR,HOOD,ALL BRKTS AND RELATED PARTS. AFTER GETTING THE CAR BACK EVERY THING ON THE CAR FAILED. THEY REPLACED STEERING MODULE AT A COST OF $716.17 AND THE IS STILL NOT RIGHT,IT'S GOING BACK IN THE SHOP 8/26/15.

THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE ALTERNATOR NEEDED REPLACEMENT AND THE PART REQUIRED WAS UNAVAILABLE. IMMEDIATELY AFTER LEAVING THE DEALER AND WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE SEAT BELT INDICATOR ILLUMINATED, THE AIR CONDITIONING AND RADIO WENT OFF. THE CONTACT LOST THE STEERING AND ACCELERATION. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED USING PARTS KNOWN TO BE INCLUDED UNDER AN RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 41,000.

SECOND INCIDENT: SAME CONDITIONS AS FIRST INCIDENT, 8+ HOURS PARKED IN GARAGE TEMP APPROX 75F, TAKES 3 ATTEMPTS BEFORE STARTING. THIRD INCIDENT: SAME DAY AS SECOND INCIDENT. CONDITIONS ARE TEMP APPROX 85F 10PM AT NIGHT I HAD BEEN PARKED AT WALMART SHOPPING INSIDE FOR ABOUT 45 MINUTES. IT HAD BEEN RAINING SO I GO TO PARKING SPOT TO GET JEEP TO PICK UP WIFE FROM THE FRONT OF STORE. IT STRUGGLES TO START AFTER 3 ATTEMPTS, I BACK-ED OUT OF PARKING SPOT AND DRIVE TOWARDS FRONT OF STORE. AS I AM NEARING THE FRONT OF STORE THE VEHICLE STARTS HESITATING AND DIES WHILE IN MOTION. IT DIED LIKE IT WAS OUT OF FUEL (FUEL GAUGE READ ABOUT 7/8THS FULL). PLACED VEHICLE IN PART, RESTARTED AND DROVE 1.5 MILES HOME. 15 JULY 2015 I CALLED AROUND NOON TO MAKE AN APPT AT DEALERSHIP TO HAVE PROBLEM DIAGNOSED, MADE APPT FOR MONDAY 20 JULY2015 AT 7AM. A FEW HOURS LATER WHEN I WAS LEAVING WORK I GET IN THE VEHICLE AND IT TAKES 3 ATTEMPTS BEFORE IT STARTS IT DIED ALMOST IMMEDIATELY. I CRANKED AND RAN ON 4TH ATTEMPT. I CALLED WIFE WHILE ON MY WAY HOME AND UCONNECT FAILED IN THE MIDDLE OF MY CALL. I WENT STRAIGHT TO DEALERSHIP AND NOW THEY ARE TRYING TO WORK IT INTO THEIR SCHEDULE FOR DIAGNOSIS.

WILL NOT TURN OVER OR START. BOUGHT THIS USED WITH 26500 MILES LESS THAN A MONTH AGO AND THE DEALERSHIP THAT SOLD IT TO ME NEVER REPORTED ANY RECALLS TO THIS VEHICLE. THIS VEHICLE HAS SIX RECALLS TO DATE AND JEEP IS SAYING THEY HAVE NO PERMANENT REPLACEMENT PARTS.
I PURCHASED A 2012 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LAREDO IN AUGUST OF 2013. THE OEM TIRES ON THE VEHICLE WERE MICHELIN P265/60R18 ALL SEASON TIRES WHICH WERE MANUFACTURED DURING THE 26TH WEEK OF 2011. I REPLACED ALL FOUR TIRES IN JUNE 2015, EVEN THOUGH I STILL HAD 5/32 TO 6/32 OF TREAD DEPTH, BECAUSE THE TIRES WERE DRY ROTTING AND THE SEAM WHERE THE TREAD ATTACHES TO THE SIDEWALL WAS LEAKING AIR. THE TIRES COULD NOT BE REPAIRED.

DAY 1....CAR JUST STOPPED OUT OF NO WHERE A PICTURE OF A BATTERY SHOWED UP AND THE CAR JUST STOPPED AND SHUT DOWN ON ITS OWN DAY 2....TOOK CAR IN TO GET A NEW BATTERY BECAUSE THAT WAS TOTALLY DEAD BUT ON DAY 3...THE BATTERY DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM THE CAR ONCE AGAIN SHUT DOWN ON ME AND THIS TIME IT WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FREEWAY I WAS STUCK FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS CANT EVEN JUMP THE CAR CUZ IT STILL WONT START IT SO I HAD TO GET IT TOWED OFF THE FREEWAY.. MIDDAY OF DAY 3 DISCOVERED IT WAS THE ALTERNATOR AND FINDS OUT THERE WERE FOR 4 RECALLS ON MY CAR SO I TOOK IT TO THE JEEP DEALERSHIP. THEY STATED THEY CAN ONLY FIX 3 OUT OF 4 OF THE RECALL DUE TO NOT HAVING ALL THE PARTS AND INFORMED ME IT WILL BE DONE BEFORE THE DAY IS OVER. 4:30PM CAME AROUND AND I CALLED TO CHECK IN ON THE CAR TO SEE IF IT WAS READY THE WORKER STATED YES COME PICK IT UP SO I DID AND WHEN I WAS ALMOST HOME THE SAME PROBLEM THE CAR SHUT DOWN ON ME SO I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TO TAKE THE CAR BACK IN BEFORE IT FULLY SHUT DOWN ALTOGETHER. DAY 4....DEALERSHIP CALLED ME ABOUT 11AM AND STATED OK THERES NOTHING WRONG WITH IT AND I CAN GO PICK IT UP SO I STATED OK BUT ABOUT AN HOUR LATER WHEN I WAS ABOUT TO BE ON MY WAY THE DEALERSHIP STATED WAIT DO NOT COME PICK IT UP YET BECAUSE THERE IS SOMETHING WITH THE COMPUTER SYSTEM OF THE CAR AND THAT THE STEERING POWER IS NOT CONNECTING TO THE ALTERNATOR AND IS SHUTTING THE CAR DOWN BUT THE PART TO FIX IT WONT BE IN TIL TOMMORROW. DAY 5..STILL WAITING FOR MY CAR TO BE FIXED..... THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT ON MY 2012 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE WHILE IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET, AND BECAME APPARENT WHILE TURNING, MAKING IT VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER THE VEHICLE. THE POWER STEERING PUMP HAD FAILED AND NEEDED COMPLETE REPLACEMENT AT 66K MILES.
ABRUPTLY STALLING WHILE TRAVELING ON INTERSTATE HIGHWAY. COMPLETE LOSS OF ALL POWER, REQUIRING TO GET OFF THE ROAD, PLACE IN PARK AND RE-START. RE STARTS WITHOUT HESITATION. INCIDENT HAS OCCURRED 5 DIFFERENT DATES/TIMES AND THE DEALER HAS NO FIX STATING THEY ARE UNABLE TO REPLICATE THE ISSUE. MOST RECENT DATE 06/05/2015

SAFETY RECALL R09/NHTSA 14V-115 IT HAS BEEN OVER 6 MONTHS AND IT IS STILL NOT FIXED. DEALERSHIP KEEPS SAYING IT DOES NOT HAVE PART.
MY HUSBAND AND I ARRIVED HOME WITH OUR 7 WEEK OLD IN THE BACKSEAT AND OUR KEYS INSIDE THE DIAPER BAG. WE STEPPED OUT, CLOSED OUR DOORS AND THE ENTIRE VEHICLE LOCKED BY ITSELF WITH OUR BABY INSIDE ALONG WITH THE KEYS. WE ARE BOTH CERTAIN THAT WE DIDN'T ACCIDENTALLY PUSH THE LOCK BUTTON. LUCKILY, WE WERE HOME AND SOMEONE WAS IN OUR HOME AND ABLE TO LET US IN SO WE COULD RETRIEVE OUR SPARE KEY. WE LIVE IN PHOENIX AND IT'S SUMMER. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. IN THE COUPLE OF MINUTES THAT SHE WAS LOCKED INSIDE, IT HAD ALREADY HEATED UP CONSIDERABLY. LUCKILY, NOBODY WAS HURT. I NOTIFIED JEEP WHO STATED THAT WHEN THE BATTERY IN THE KEY FOB IS LOW, SOMETIMES IT LOCKS THE CAR. WE HAD ALREADY REPLACED THIS.
