I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS TO HAVE MY VEHICLE'S BRAKE BOOSTER REPAIRED. I HAVE CONTACTED BRENNER CHRYSLER JEEP THREE TIMES ABOUT THIS RECALL AND CHRYSLER ONCE SINCE MY FIRST RECALL NOTIFICATION. EACH TIME I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT MORE THAN 100 VEHICLES REMAIN AHEAD OF MINE AT THIS DEALERSHIP AND PARTS ARE BEING SHIPPED FOR REPAIR SLOWLY AND ERRATICALLY. I HAVE BEEN REFUSED ANYTHING IN WRITING TO VERIFY MY PLACE ON THE DEALERSHIP'S REPAIR LIST. ALL MY CALLS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED WITH UNSYMPATHETIC, UNCONCERNED, AND UNINFORMED RESPONSES, AND UNTIL NOW, WITH CHRYSLER'S SECOND NOTIFICATION, I WAS REFUSED INFORMATION ON HOW TO REPORT THIS SITUATION TO THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION WHEN I ASKED. BOTH BRENNER AND CHRYSLER REFUSE TO UPDATE ME ON THE AVAILABILITY OF FIXING THIS RECALL. *TR
THIS VEHICLE WILL STALL WHILE YOU ARE IN DRIVE AND DRIVING. THERE IS NO INDICATION THAT THE CAR HAS STALLED. LIGHTS AND RADIO ARE ONE. WHEN YOU GO TO BREAK, THE CAR WILL NOT STOP. THE FOLLOWING DO NOT WORK, BREAKS, EMERGENCY BREAK, POWER STEERING AND THROWING THE CAR IN PARK. YOU HAVE TO COAST UNTIL YOU STOP AND HOPE YOU DO NOT HIT ANYTHING. ONCE YOU STOP, THE CAR WILL RESTART. THIS IS A KNOW ISSUES WITH THIS VEHICLE. IT HAS BEEN IN OVER 3 TIMES TO GET FIX. IT DOES HAVE A RECALL BUT THAT HAS NOT FIXED THE PROBLEM. IT IS CURRENTLY A DEADLY WEAPON.
ATTEMPTED TO COMPLETE BRAKE BOOSTER RECALL (P14/NHTSA 14V-154) AT HELFMAN DODGE/JEEP IN HOUSTON ON 6/30/14. THE DEALER WILL NOT ACCEPT APPOINTMENTS FOR RECALLS SO THE WORK IS ONLY PERFORMED FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED. HELFMAN IS UNABLE TO APPROXIMATE WHEN THEY WILL EVEN BE ABLE TO BEGIN THE RECALL WORK. ACCORDING TO HELFMAN DODGE, CHRYSLER HAS MADE NO ACCOMMODATIONS FOR CUSTOMERS BEING WITHOUT A VEHICLE FOR AN UNDEFINED PERIOD OF TIME. HELFMAN ADVISED THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE RENTAL VEHICLE MYSELF. I DO NOT HAVE ANY OTHER MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION AND DO NOT HAVE THE ABILITY TO TAKE A FULL DAY OR MORE OFF OF WORK TO WAIT TO SEE WHEN THE DEALER CAN COMPLETE THE RECALL REPAIR. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR MY OWN RENTAL VEHICLE FOR A RECALL REPAIR. BECAUSE I CANNOT MAKE AN APPOINTMENT, AND THE DEALER DOES NOT KNOW WHEN THEY WILL BE ABLE TO PERFORM THE WORK AND THUS MUST KEEP THE CAR FOR AN UNDETERMINED PERIOD OF TIME, I DO NOT HAVE THE LUXURY OF TAKING A DAY OR TWO OFF WORK TO SIT 11 HOURS IN THE WAITING ROOM HOPING THEY CAN GET TO MY CAR THEN REPEATING THIS THE NEXT DAY IF IT WAS NOT REPAIRED, AND BECAUSE I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR THE RENTAL VEHICLE DURING A RECALL REPAIR, I AM UNABLE TO COMPLETE THIS RECALL REPAIR ON MY 2012 JEEP. CHRYSLER IS NOT MAKING ANY ACCOMMODATIONS TO CUSTOMERS TO MAKE THIS REPAIR PRACTICAL FOR THE TYPICAL VEHICLE OWNER. *TR
06/30/2014: CAR WAS CRANING SLOW. OUTCOME: BATTERY REPLACED. BRAKE BOOSTER RECALL AND REPLACED. 08/18/2014: CAR WAS TOWED IN. OUTCOME: FUEL PUMP OVERLAY WAS REPLACED. 09/15/2014: CAR WAS TOWED IN NOT STARTING. OUTCOME: BATTERY REPLACED AND NEW ALTERNATOR REPLACED. LAST INCIDENT HAPPENED ON 09/12/2014 I WAS DRIVING HOME, THE CAR PANEL STARTED FLASHING, VEHICLE SHUT OFF, AND I LOST POWER STEERING. NO CONTROL OF MY CAR. THANKFUL I WASN'T IN AN ACCIDENT. I HAD MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR. PRECIOUS CARGO. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE AND CONCERN. IF I WAS ON THE FREEWAY I CAN ONLY IMAGINE WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED. MY CAR ONLY HAS 37K MILES ON IT. AN ALTERNATOR SHOULD NOT BE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT SUCH LOW MILEAGE. I CAN UNDERSTAND 100K. PLUS 2 BATTERY REPLACES NEEDED WITHIN 2 MONTHS. THIS CAR IS NOT RELIABLE NOR SAFE. *TR

I RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE CAMPAIGN P14 / NHTSA 14V-154 RELATED TO A PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKE BOOSTER. I CONTACTED MY DEALER TO SCHEDULE A SERVICE APPOINTMENT AND WAS INFORMED THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS NEEDED FOR THIS RECALL. WHEN I ASKED HOW I SHOULD PROCEED WITH GETTING THE RECALL TAKEN CARE OF THEY STATED I SHOULD CHECK BACK WITH THEM IN ONE MONTH TO SEE IF THEY HAVE RECEIVED ANY PARTS. I FIND THIS HIGHLY UNACCEPTABLE THAT CHRYSLER ISSUES A RECALL NOTICE WITHOUT ALREADY HAVING SUPPLIED DEALERS WITH THE RECALL PARTS. THE DEALER DID EVEN OFFER TO PUT ME ON A NOTIFICATION LIST, SIMPLY SAID I SHOULD CHECK BACK. *TR
I RECEIVED AN "IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL" NOTICE FROM CHRYSLER FOR MY CAR. IT SAYS THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER NEEDS TO BE INSPECTED AND THEN REPLACED OR A PROTECTIVE BRAKE BOOSTER SHIELD NEEDS TO BE INSTALLED. I CALLED CHRIS NICKEL JEEP CHRYSLER DODGE TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT AND THEY STATE THAT THEY HAVE NO PARTS FOR THIS AND HAVE NO ETA ON WHEN A FIX WILL BE AVAILABLE. THE NOTICE ALSO SAID THAT IF THE DEALER FAILS OR IS UNABLE TO REMEDY THIS DEFECT WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME, I WAS SUPPOSED TO NOTIFY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF NHTSA AT THIS WEBSITE. WAS INFORMED THAT EACH DEALERSHIP GETS ONE PART PER WEEK AND I COULD BE PUT ON ANOTHER DEALERSHIPS WAITING LIST. I'VE CALLED DODGE NIELSON IN EAST HANOVER, NJ 07936 BACK IN JUNE TO BRING MY CAR IN FOR A PART. I RECEIVED A LETTER IN THE MAIL FEW WEEKS PRIOR IN REGARDS TO A SAFETY RECALL "BRAKE BOOSTER". IT IS NOW SEPTEMBER AND THEY HAVE TOLD ME NO PARTS HAVE BEEN RECEIVED. WINTER IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER AND THIS SPECIFIC PART IS QUITE IMPORTANT IN THE WINTER MONTHS COMING. I BOUGHT THE CAR BRAND NEW FROM SAFFORD CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE OF WARRENTON, VA. THE CAR MAKES NOISES BECAUSE OF A DEFECTIVE ABSORBER, WHICH HAS BEEN CLEARLY DETERMINED IN A MANUFACTURER TSB. ALSO THE CAR HAS A SAFETY RECALL FOR BRAKE BOOSTER ISSUES. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP (SAFFORD CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE OF WARRENTON, VA) LAST JUNE 14, 2014 AND THEY HAVE RECOGNIZED BOTH ISSUES BUT DIDN'T HAVE THE PARTS NEEDED IN STOCK TO DO THE REPAIRS. AFTER 2 MONTHS AND SEVERAL CALLS WE ARE GETTING THE SAME EXCUSES AND THE REPAIRS ARE STILL DUE. I AM AFRAID THEY DEALERSHIP IS DOING EVERYTHING TO AVOID THE REPAIR AND PROBABLY DOWN THE ROAD SAY THE CAR IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY ANYMORE. I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE IN THE MAIL. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED MY LOCAL JEEP DEALERSHIP TO SEE ABOUT FIXING THE PROBLEM. THIS CALL WAS MADE IN JUNE 2014. IT IS NOW JANUARY 2015 AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO FIX THE (NOW THREE) RECALLS I HAVE ON MY JEEP. I KEEP GETTING TOLD I AM "ON THE LIST." THE LAST TIME I CALLED THE MAN IN THE PARTS DEPARTMENT WAS VERY RUDE AND I WAS TOLD THEY "ONLY GET IN ONE PART PER WEEK" AND THERE ARE "OVER 300 PEOPLE ON THE LIST"...THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! THESE RECALLS HAVE NOT BEEN DEALT WITH IN A TIMELY OR SAFE MANNER. A BRAKE BOOSTER PROBLEM, SUN VISOR WIRING, AND NOW THE ALTERNATOR.. WHO KNOWS WHEN THESE WILL BE FIXED! WITH THESE PROBLEMS I DO NOT FEEL AS SAFE IN MY JEEP, I MAY END UP GETTING RID OF IT IF SOMEONE DOES NOT TAKE THE TIME TO FIX VEHICLES THAT HAVE RECALLS. I RESPONDED TO A SAFETY RECALL CONCERNING A BRAKE BOOSTER FOR THE ABOVE REFERENCED VEHICLE. THE RECALL NOTICE STATED THAT AFTER AN INSPECTION OF THE ISSUE, IF A REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF PARTS WERE NEEDED, THE REPAIR WOULD BE PERFORMED AT THAT TIME. HOWEVER, I WAS INFORMED THAT THEY (THE DEALERSHIP) DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS ON HAND, AND THAT IT WILL TAKE ABOUT TWO MONTHS TO GET THOSE PARTS IN. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. IF THE MANUFACTURER SENDS OUT A SAFETY RECALL, THEN THEY SHOULD HAVE ALREADY SUPPLIED THE DEALERSHIPS WITH THOSE PARTS. AND AT THE VERY LEAST, IF IT WAS GOING TO BE NECESSARY TO ORDER THOSE PARTS, THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR IT TAKING CLOSE TO TWO MONTHS TO RECEIVE. I HAVE HAD MULTIPLE PROBLEMS WITH MY 2012 GRAND CHEROKEE. ALL OF THE EXTERNAL LIGHTS MODULES ---HEADLIGHTS AND TAIL LIGHTS--- WENT OUT AND HAD TO BE REPLACED DUE TO AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM THEN THE CAR SOMETIMES WOULDN'T START. THE DEALER COULDN'T REPLICATE THE PROBLEM SO TOLD ME THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING. FINALLY ONE TIME IT HAPPENED AT THE DEALER AND THEY FIGURED IT WAS A DEFECT IN THE KEYLESS ENTRY THAT WAS READING THE SIGNAL FROM THE KEY FOB. THEN WHEN THEY WERE INSPECTING THE CAR THEY FOUND THE REAR SHOCK WAS LEAKING. THEY ORDERED A NEW PART IN JUNE AND IT WAS FINALLY REPLACED IN OCT AS THE PART WAS ON BACK ORDER. ON A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE THE SERVICE TECH TOLD ME I NEEDED ROUTINE MAINTENANCE CHECK ( 30000 MILES) TO THE TUNE OF $1700 AND WANTED ME TO DO IT RIGHT THEN.. THE DAY AFTER THIS OIL CHANGE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. I CALLED THE DEALER. THEY SAID IT WAS PROBABLY BECAUSE I HADN'T DONE MY 30000 MILE CHECK ( THE DAY BEFORE). HE SAID IT COULD BE VARIABLE THINGS BUT PROBABLY A BAD SPARK PLUG THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED ( PART OF THE $1700 CHECK HE HAD WANTED ME TO DO). I SAID I HAD OTHER CARS INCLUDING A 2002 JEEP AND I HADN'T HAD TO REPLACE THE SPARK PLUGS AT 30000 MILES. THEN HE REALIZED MY 3.6 L CAR DID NOT NEED SPARK PLUGS CHANGED AT 30000 ---- ONLY THE 5.7 DID. YESTERDAY I CHECKED MY FLUIDS AND SAW THE POWER STEERING FLUID WAS WAY LOW. I CALLED THE DEALER TO SEE IF THIS WAS NORMAL. THE TECH SAID NO--- THE STEERING FLUID WAS IN A CONTAINED SYSTEM AND SHOULD NOT LOOSE FLUID. HE SAID I MUST HAVE A LEAK SOMEWHERE IN THE SYSTEM. HE SAID IT WAS VERY DANGEROUS BUT NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. HE SAID THE ENGINE COULD CATCH FIRE OR I COULD LOOSE STEERING. WHY WOULDN'T THIS BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY? IT IS DANGEROUS. THE CAR ONLY HAS 36000 MILES AND THIS LEAK SHOULD NOT HAPPEN. *TR

RECALL P14 / NHTSA 14V-154 I GOT THIS RECALL NOTICE AND CALLED THE DEALER ON JUNE 5 TO HAVE THE REPAIR MADE. THEY SAID THEY DID NOT HAVE PARTS YET AND WOULD PUT ME ON THE WAIT LIST AND THAT I WILL BE NOTIFIED WHEN THE PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. I CALLED AGAIN ON JULY 18 (6 WEEKS LATER) AND THEY SAID THEY STILL DID NOT HAVE PARTS AND AGAIN SAID THAT I'D BE NOTIFIED. WE'VE HAD ODD PEDAL FIRMNESS ISSUES, THEN RECEIVED A JEEP RECALL, BROUGHT IT IN AND THEY CONFIRMED (AFTER A HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE) THAT OUR CAR HAS THE FLAWED PART, AND THEN GAVE IT BACK AND SAID THEY CAN'T DO THE RECALL NOW AND WILL LET US KNOW?
