THE DEALER INFORMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE AND NO ESTIMATED DATE FOR RECEIVING THE PARTS COULD BE GIVEN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE. WHEN I CONTACTED MY DEALERSHIP THEY STATED THEY HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY PARTS FOR THIS RECALL FROM CHRYSLER. THE TOOK MY NAME FOR A LIST TO CALL ME WHEN PARTS BECOME AVAILABLE. IT IS NOW 6 MONTHS LATER AND THE DEALERSHIP STILL DOESN'T HAVE THE PART FOR THIS RECALL. I FEEL THIS IS AN UNREASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME TO HAVE TO WAIT FOR PARTS ESPECIALLY AS IMPORTANT WITH A COMPONENT OF A VEHICLE SUCH AS BRAKES. *TR

MY WIFE HAS CONTACTED THE JEEP DEALERSHIP IN FAYETTEVILLE AR ABOUT HER BRAKES NOT FEELING CORRECT AND TOOK THE JEEP IN TO GET CHECKED AND WAS TOLD NO RECALL HAD BEEN ISSUED. WITHIN 2 WEEKS THERE WAS A RECALL HOWEVER WE HAVE BEEN TOLD AFTER THE RECALL CAME IT WOULD BE 5-7 BUSINESS DAYS FOR THE PART TO COME IN. WE ARE OVER TWO MONTHS LATER WITH NO RESOLVE AND NOT FEELING ANY BETTER OVER THE ISSUE. MULTIPLE PHONE CALLS AND ME GOING IN PERSON TO THE DEALERSHIP WE ARE NOW TOLD SORRY WE CAN NOT TELL YOU HOW LONG THE WAIT WILL BE FOR OUR PART TO COME IN. IF THERE IS SUCH A SEVERE ISSUE THAT IS CAUSING FATALITIES THEN WHY IS IT WHEN SOMEONE REPORTS HAVING HAD ISSUES WITH THE WAY THE BRAKES FELT ONCE APPLIED WHY IS NOTHING BEING DONE AT THIS POINT? THIS IS OUR PRIMARY VEHICLE FOR OUR FAMILY AND THE NEWS ON THE RECALLS IS STEADY GETTING WORSE. WE UNDERSTAND THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE ARE AFFECTED BUT HOW LONG IS THE FINAL WAIT GOING TO BE? SHOULD I BE PREPARING FOR GETTING ANOTHER VEHICLE SO I DON'T HAVE A DEATH TRAP GOING INTO THE WINTER? I HAVE 2 RECALL NOTICES FROM CHRYSLER ON MY 2012 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE WHICH I HAVE HAD FOR SEVERAL MONTHS (RECALLS NOS. P14 AND P36). EVERY TIME I CONTACT MY CHRYSLER DEALER, SOUTH POINT CHRYSLER IN AUSTIN, TEXAS, I AM INFORMED THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS TO DO THE RECALL WORK. *TR

BOUGHT JEEP NEW ON 12/2012. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON LAST WEEK, TOOK IT TO AUTO PARTS STORE TO HAVE IT HOOKED UP TO COMPUTER AND IT READ CYLINDER 4 MISFIRING. CALLED JEEP DEALER AND BROUGHT IT IN FOR SERVICE, THEY CALLED AND SAID IT WAS THE CYLINDER HEAD AND WILL REPLACE. THIS MAKES ME VERY CONCERNED TO SEE SO MANY OTHERS HAVING SIMILAR PROBLEMS. WASN'T EVEN GIVEN A LOANER CAR WHILE REPAIR WAS DONE BECAUSE I DIDN'T HAVE THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. I ONLY HAVE 15,000 MILES ON CAR, SHOULDN'T NEED EXTENDED WARRANTY!! I RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL LAST SPRING FOR P14/NHTSA 14V-154-BRAKE BOOSTER. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE BRAKES INSPECTED MAY 5, 2014. AT THAT TIME THE DEALER DID NOT HAVE THE PARTS (WATER SHIELD) TO PLACE OVER THE BRAKE BOOSTER. I JUST SPOKE WITH THE DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT TODAY (9/9/14) AND THEY STILL DO NOT HAVE THE PART NOR DO THEY HAVE ANY IDEA WHEN THEY WILL HAVE THE PREVENTATIVE PART. IF THIS ISSUE IS OF NO CONCERN THEN WHY WAS A SAFETY RECALL ISSUED? IF IT IS OF CONCERN (AND I MIGHT ADD WE ARE HEADED INTO THE COLDEST AND RAINIEST TIME OF YEAR HERE) THEN WHY ARE THERE NO PARTS AVAILABLE TO PREEMPT A KNOWN SAFETY HAZARD? HAVING HAD OTHER VEHICLES THAT HAD SAFETY RECALLS AND DEALING WITH DIFFERENT MANUFACTURERS, I NEVER HAD TO WAIT OVER 5 MONTHS FOR A SAFETY RECALL REPLACEMENT PART. JEEP WAS TURNED ON WHILE BRAKE WAS APPLIED. ENGINE BEGAN TO REV, JEEP THEN LURCHED FORWARD WHILE BRAKE WAS STILL APPLIED. JEEP CAME TO STOP APPROXIMATELY 40 FEET FROM WHERE THE JEEP WAS TURNED ON. IT WAS A SCARY RIDE, NO CONTROL OVER THE VEHICLE. *TR
I HAVE BEEN CALLING MY DEALERSHIP REGARDING A BRAKE BOOSTER RECALL FOR 3 MONTHS, I HAVE CALLED 6 TIMES AND ALL IM TOLD IS YOUR ON THE WAITING LIST. I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR MY LOCAL JEEP DEALER TO FIX A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE RELATED TO A BRAKE BOOSTER ON MY 2012 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. I'VE BEEN WAITING SINCE MAY. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! I HAVE A 7-MONTHS-PREGNANT WIFE, AND HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO FEEL SHE IS SAFE AND SECURE IN A CAR WHICH COULD POTENTIALLY HAVE A BRAKE ISSUE? NOW, FAST FORWARD TO SEPTEMBER AND I'VE RECEIVED ANOTHER RECALL NOTICE, THIS ONE PERTAINING TO SUN VISOR WIRING. HOW LONG SHOULD WE BE REQUIRED TO WAIT FOR THESE TO BE FIXED? I'VE HAD RECALLS ON MY 2010 MERCURY MARINER AND 2005 MAZDA TRIBUTE RECENTLY, AND BOTH WERE HANDLED IMMEDIATELY. SO I WOULD VERY SPECIFICALLY LIKE TO LODGE A COMPLAINT AGAINST CHRYSLER AND ITS PARENT, FIAT. LOCAL DEALERS NEED TO BE SUPPLIED WITH REPLACEMENT PARTS FAR MORE QUICKLY. (AND, FOR THE RECORD, I'VE OWNED FIVE JEEPS. I'M LOYAL TO THE BRAND, WHICH IS ALL THE MORE REASON WHY THIS IS UPSETTING.) THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL FROM CHRYSLER REGARDING THE BRAKE BOOSTER FREEZING DURING COLD WEATHER. THE RECALL IS P-14/NHTSA 14V-154 . WE HAVE BEEN ON A WAITING LIST SINCE MAY 2014 AND THE DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN UNABLE TO RECEIVE THE PARTS TO MAKE THE REPAIRS. I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH CHRYSLER AND THEY HAVE BEEN NO HELP AS TO MAKING A TIMELY REPAIR. I ASK THAT YOU LOOK INTO THIS ISSUE AS TO WHY SO MANY PEOPLE ARE ON WAITING LIST AWAITING PARTS. *TR

DESPITE SEVERAL CONTACTS SINCE, THEY MAINTAIN THAT THEY HAVE NEVER RECEIVED ANY PARTS NEEDED TO COMPLETE THE RECALL. JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE RECALL - I HAVE HAD NUMEROUS ISSUES WITH MY 2012 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE, PRIMARILY ELECTRICAL RELATED. MY CAR WAS MAKING A HIGH PITCHED SOUND, IT WASN'T VERY LOUD AT FIRST, BUT PROGRESSIVELY GOT WORSE. IT WOULDN'T START AT FIRST - THEN HAD TO TRY TO START IT A FEW TIMES BEFORE IT WOULD START. THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SEEMED TO BE MALFUNCTIONING WORSE. I ASSUMED IT NEEDED A NEW BATTERY, SO I BOUGHT ONE AND THE GUY AT AUTOZONE INSTALLED IT. I DROVE TO MY RESTAURANT AND IT STARTED ACTING UP AGAIN (HIGH PITCH SOUND RETURNED, HAD TROUBLE STARTING IT). AS I WAS DRIVING BACK HOME ON THE ROAD (45 MPH) - I SAW ALL ELECTRICAL WORKINGS CUT OFF AND BACK ON (THE RED LIGHTING LIGHTS FLASHED). AS I TRIED TO PULL OVER, THE ENTIRE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FAILED. MY POWER STEERING, ANTI-LOCK BREAKS, RADIO AND EVERYTHING ELECTRICAL STOPPED WORKING. I ALMOST GOT IN A WRECK BUT IT TOOK EVERY BIT OF STRENGTH I HAD TO STOP AND STEER THE VEHICLE - I TURNED INTO A SHOPPING CENTER AND STEERED TOWARD AN INCLINE AND EVENTUALLY STOPPED (ALMOST HIT A CAR, THEN ALMOST HIT AN ELDERLY COUPLE PEDESTRIANS). I HAD MY CAR TOWED TO HENDRICK CHRYSLER FAYETTEVILLE, NC. THEY SAID THE PCM WAS OUT. IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY SO THEY REPLACED IT - BUT MY VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN PROPERLY REPAIRED. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND OFF ALL THE TIME AND HAVE HAD NUMEROUS ELECTRICAL WIRING ISSUES (BEFORE AND AFTER THE PCM) WAS REPLACED. MY VEHICLE (WHEN THE PCM WENT OUT) COULD HAVE EASILY KILLED ME AND ANYONE ON THE ROAD AT THAT TIME. THE DEALERSHIP KEEPS SAYING THAT NONE OF THAT HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR ANY OF THE OTHER RECALLS - BUT I CANNOT ACCEPT THAT. I FEEL THIS VEHICLE - 2012 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE - IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS HAZARD TO ALL ROAD. I HAVE ALSO HAD NUMEROUS OTHER RECALLS FOR THIS VEHICLE.

MY 2012 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE HAS THE 3.6 LITER PENTASTAR V6 WITH THE 5 SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. IT HAS THE QUADRA TRAC 1 FULL-TIME 4X4 SYSTEM. THE TRANSMISSION IS VERY "CLUNKY" AND FEELS UNSURE OF WHAT IT SHOULD BE DOING. UPSHIFTS COME EARLY, AT LOW SPEED AND RPM'S. OFTEN THIS IS NOT AN ISSUE, BUT SOMETIMES CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO FEEL EXTREMELY UNDERPOWERED. PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR FURTHER WILL EVENTUALLY RESULT IN A DOWNSHIFT AND A RESULTING CLUNK IN THE DRIVELINE. LOW SPEED DRIVING ON CURVY ROADS IS NOT A NICE EXPERIENCE WITH THIS VEHICLE. DOWNSHIFTS ARE ABRUPT AND ANYTHING BUT SMOOTH. THERE IS OFTEN A CLUNK THAT CAN BE HEARD AND FELT WHILE DECELERATING FOR AN UPCOMING CURVE. THE BEST WAY TO DESCRIBE THE FEELING IS RIDING WITH A PERSON WHO IS LEARNING TO DRIVE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION CAR FOR THE FIRST TIME. NOT SURE IF THIS COMPLAINT IS RECALL WORTHY, BUT I WORRY THE TRANSMISSIONS INDECISIVENESS IS GOING TO PREMATURELY WEAR THE DRIVELINE COMPONENTS. PERHAPS A SOFTWARE UPDATE FOR THE TRANSMISSION WOULD BE A GOOD PLACE TO START.
INITIALLY, I WAS HAVING TROUBLE WITH IT STALLING AFTER IT STARTED. THE DEALERSHIP INSTALLED A NEW START BUTTON, I THEN HAD TROUBLE AFTER I WOULD TURN THE CAR OFF, THE ACCESSORIES WOULD NOT TURN OFF. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACES THE DOOR MECHANISM AND NOW I AM HAVING TROUBLE GETTING THE CAR TO START. I WAS UNABLE TO START IT AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS AND COULD ONLY START IT USING THE REMOTE START. AFTER CHECKING POSSIBLE RECALLS ON LINE AND FINDING ONE THAT APPEARED TO BE A POSSIBLE CAUSE I CALLED THE DEALER AGAIN. THEY THEN ADMITTED THERE WAS A POSSIBLE PROBLEM AND SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT.. WHEN I PICKED THE VEHICLE UP THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T FIX IT BECAUSE THERE WAS NO FIX AVAILABLE YET. I ASKED THEM IF THEY EXPECTED ME TO DRIVE A VEHICLE THAT WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND THEY REPEATED THERE WAS NO FIX FOR THE VEHICLE SO PLEASE TAKE MY VEHICLE AND LEAVE. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE FOR FEAR IT WOULD QUIT AT A HIGHER SPEED AND CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. THIS VEHICLE IS OUR MAIN TRANSPORTATION BUT STILL CANNOT BE FIXED. I EXPERIENCED A 90% FAILURE OF THE BRAKES ON MY 2012 GRAND CHEROKEE THIS AM. THE VEHICLE WHICH IS NORMALLY NOT LEFT OUTDOORS AT NIGH WAS LEFT OUTSIDE LAST NIGHT AND THE TEMPERATURE FELL TO -5 DEG F. WHEN I DOVE AWAY THIS AM AND APPLIED THE BRAKES I HAD +/- 10% OF THE NORMAL BRAKING POWER AND WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES HARDER I COULD FEEL THE ANTILOCK BRAKE SYSTEM KICK IN BUT STILL NOT BRAKING. ONCE THE VEHICLE SAT IN THE SUN AND WARMED THE BREAKS FUNCTIONED FINE. MY UNDERSTANDING FROM THE JEEP FORUM IS THAT THIS IS A DESIGN ISSUE WITH THIS YEAR AND MODEL, ACCORDING TO MY DEALER THERE IS NO RECALL TO FIX IT. *TR
