TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V240000 (POWER TRAIN) AND WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD BE REPAIRED FOR MONTHS. THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT DISCLOSE WHEN THE PARTS AND REMEDY WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. IN ADDITION, THE GEAR SHIFTED INTO PARK WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, AND THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WARNING INDICATORS AND GAUGES FLICKERED. THE "SERVICE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE" WARNING INDICATOR FLASHED AS THE FAILURE PROGRESSED. THE CONTACT WAS PULLING OFF THE ROAD WHEN THE GEAR SHIFTED INTO PARK, CAUSING SKID MARKS AND THE BRAKES APPLIED WITHOUT WARNING. THE SHIFTER AND START BUTTON WENT INTO A LOCK MODE AND THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN. THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED NO REPAIR SOLUTION. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 24. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINT (AHR) PASSENGER SIDE DEPLOYED DUE TO DEFECTIVE LOCK MECHANISM. THE PLASTIC HOOKS BROKE AND THE AHR WILL NO LONGER LOCK INTO PLACE. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN IN ANY ACCIDENT AND DEPLOYED WHILE PARKED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT AND SHIFTING THE GEAR INTO REVERSE, THE GEAR SHIFTER FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V24000 (POWER TRAIN). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,350.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, AN ABNORMAL NOISE EMITTED FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,638.
I WAS TRAVELING 35MPH ON THE ON RAMP TO A MAJOR HIGHWAY WHEN THE AUTOMATIC BRAKING SYSTEM TURNED ITSELF ON. THERE WAS NO OBSTRUCTION IN FRONT OF ME AND THE SYSTEM WAS TURNED OFF. THE CAR STARTED BEEPING AND THE CAR SKIDDED TO A COMPLETE STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ON RAMP ON IT'S OWN, THERE WAS NO WAY I COULD CONTROL THE VEHICLE. THE INCIDENT ALMOST RESULTED IN A COLLISION. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PLACED IN REVERSE OR DRIVE, IT WOULD AUTOMATICALLY SHIFT INTO PARK. THE ISSUE WAS DISCOVERED AFTER TAKING THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL DEALER FOR AN ELECTRONIC SHIFT RECALL REPAIR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 28,000.
ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL AND COLLISION AVOIDANCE DID NOT WORK PROPERLY, AND RESULTED IN A COLLISION. I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY, RELYING ON THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL AND THE AUTOMATIC BRAKING, A FEATURE OF COLLISION AVOIDANCE. THERE WAS A SLOW DOWN IN TRAFFIC, AND ALTHOUGH THE SYSTEM SLOWED DOWN AND APPLIED BRAKE, IT DID SO TOO LATE TO STOP CAR. AS I GOT TOO CLOSE, I APPLIED STEADY PRESSURE ON THE BRAKE, BUT I STILL HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME, WHO THEN HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF THEM. NO SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO EITHER OF THE OTHER CARS, AND MINE HAS MINOR COSMETIC DAMAGE, AND THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL IS NOW NOT WORKING PROPERLY. COULD HAVE BEEN SIGNIFICANTLY WORSE. MAKES ME REALLY QUESTION THE POTENTIAL FOR SELF-DRIVING CARS. *TR
WE PURCHASED OUR JEEP IN 2014 BRAND NEW. I BELIEVE IT WAS 2- 3 YEARS LATER SO POSSIBLY IN 2016-2017 WE NOTICED OUR HEATED STEERING WHEEL WOULD BE GLITCHY AND WORK/NOT WORK. THEN ONE DAY IT WAS LIGHTLY RAINING SO I TURNED MY WIPERS ON THEN IT STARTED RAINING HEAVIER BUT MY WIPERS WOULD NOT GO ON A HIGHER LEVEL WHICH MADE IT VERY DANGEROUS BECAUSE I COULDN'T SEE. I HAD TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO TURN MY CAR OFF AND BACK ON TO RESET IT. THIS HAPPENS FREQUENTLY NOW SO I HAVE TO MANUALLY TURN THEM ON EVERY TIME I WANT TO USE WIPERS. THIS ALSO HAS TO DO WITH MY BLINKERS NOT WORKING PROPERLY EITHER AND THE WHOLE STEERING COLUMN DOESN'T WORK, SO I CAN'T CHANGE SETTINGS ON THE DASHBOARD EITHER. WHEN TAKING IT IN TO THE DEALER WE BOUGHT IT FROM THEY STATED THAT IT WAS A LITTLE PIECE THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BUT BECAUSE THE CAR WAS OVER A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF MILES THE WARRANTY WAS VOID. A CAR THAT NEW SHOULD NOT HAVE TO HAVE SOMETHING LIKE THAT FIXED AT THE OWNERS EXPENSE SINCE IT IS A FAULTY PART. THIS CAN BE SUPER DANGEROUS WHEN YOU USE THE WIPERS, ALL THE OTHER AREAS DON'T AFFECT SAFETY AS MUCH AS THE WIPER ISSUE, BUT THEY SAID IT WAS ALL LINKED TO THAT ONE PIECE. I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR A RECALL ON THIS THINKING IT WOULD COME UP SINCE IT WAS A NEW CAR...BUT HAVEN'T SEEN ANYTHING ABOUT THIS ISSUE. I WAS RECENTLY TOLD ABOUT THIS SITE THAT I COULD SUBMIT ISSUES TO SO THAT IS WHY IT HAS TAKEN LONGER TO REPORT. I AM PRETTY POSITIVE THAT IF THE DEALERSHIP I TAKE IT TO KEEPS TRACK OF THE TIMES IT IS BROUGHT IN, WE CAN SEE THE NOTES FROM WHEN THIS WAS ADDRESSED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DOORS LOCKED AUTOMATICALLY AND THE BLUETOOTH WOULD NOT CONNECT WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V249000 (POWER TRAIN, SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). AFTER THE REPAIR, THE BLUETOOTH STILL WOULD NOT CONNECT AND THE RADIO CUT OFF. THE DEALER PERFORMED A SOFTWARE UPDATE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 9,500.
SHIFTING PROBLEMS MAINLY ON FREEWAY TRAVEL AND IN HILLY SITUATIONS, WILL VERY HARD DOWNSHIFT WHEN SLOWING TO A STOP. WILL DOWNSHIFT TO LOWER GEAR WITHOUT WARNING AND WILL NOT SHIFT UP WHEN YOU TRY ACCELERATE TO GET BACK INTO TRAFFIC, STAYS IN A LOWER GEAR MUCH TO LONG THEN FINALLY WILL UP SHIFT, SOMETIMES I HAVE PULL OFF ROAD. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM.
ON 9/24/2016 I WAS DRIVING IN FLORIDA GOING ON VACATION AND THE MOTOR (PENTASTAR V-6) STARTED MISFIRING. TOOK IT TO A JEEP DEALERSHIP IN FORT WALTON, FL AND WAS TOLD THAT IT NEED A TUNE UP. WAS CHARGED $308.67 FOR THE TUNE UP. DROVE THE VEHICLE ABOUT 10 MILES AND THE MISFIRING STARTED AGAIN. TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD IT NEEDED A NEW HEAD. THEY REPLACED THE HEAD AND WE TOOK THE VEHICLE AND STARTED BACK TO OUR CONDO AND IT STARTED MISFIRING AGAIN. WE LEFT THE NEXT DAY AND RETURNED TO OUR HOME IN WEST VIRGINIA. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A DEALERSHIP HERE IN CHARLESTON, WV AND THEY SAID IT WAS A BAD COIL. WE WERE AGAIN CHARGED AND THE TOTAL WAS $279.27. IT APPEARS TO BE FIXED. I HAVE BEEN RESEARCHING THIS PROBLEMS AND APPEARS THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF THESE MOTORS WITH THAT HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM.
EVAP LEAK SMALL P0456 - DEALERSHIP IS UNABLE TO FIND ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT LEASED A 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE VEHICLE HESITATED WHEN MAKING A COMPLETE STOP AND WHEN ACCELERATING. IN ADDITION, WHILE DRIVING HIGHWAY SPEEDS, THERE WAS A SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER AND THE CONTACT HAD TO COAST THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AT THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE AND WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE CONTACT NOTIFIED TWO DEALERS AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO SUPPLY THE REMEDY AND PARTS TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT LATER RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V529000 (POWER TRAIN). THE TWO DEALERS MENTIONED THAT THE PARTS WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
I PUT THE CAR INTO PARK, AND AS I WAS EXITING THE CAR, AT A DEAD END ROAD IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD, I REALIZED THAT THE CAR WAS GOING IN REVERSE, AS I WAS HALF IN AND HALF OUT OF THE CAR. THE DOOR KNOCKED ME TO THE GROUND, AND THE CAR ALMOST RAN OVER MY FOOT. I GOT ABRASIONS ON SEVERAL AREAS OF MY BODY, SPRAINED MY KNEE, ELBOW AND MY HAND. MY GLASSES ALSO GOT RAN OVER AND WERE DESTROYED. THE CAR KEPT GOING IN REVERSE, AND HIT A CHAIN LINK FENCE BEFORE I COULD RUN TO CATCH UP TO IT. THE REAR HATCH DOOR IS ALL SCRATCHED, THE WINDOW SCRATCHED, THE LEFT REAR QUARTER PANEL IS DENTED AND SCRATCHED, INSIDE THE HATCH ON THE LEFT HAND SIDE OF THE FRAME IS SCRATCHED AND DENTED, THE LEFT REAR LIGHT IS BROKEN. I CALLED BROWN'S JEEP IN PATCHOGUE, NY AFTER RECEIVING THIS RECALL APPROX 8 WEEKS AGO, TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE RECALL FIXED, AND WAS TOLD BY THEM THAT EVERYONE WAS CALLING ABOUT THAT RECALL, AND I'D HAVE TO BE PUT ON A WAITING LIST FOR THE RECALL. I HAVEN'T HEARD A WORD FROM THEM SINCE. I FEEL AS THOUGH JEEP SHOULD PAY FOR ALL THE REPAIRS TO MY VEHICLE AND FIX THE RECALL ASAP, AS WELL AS PAY FOR NEW GLASSES FOR ME, AND GIVE ME A LOANER CAR UNTIL THE REPAIRS ARE COMPLETE. I ALSO THINK I SHOULD BE COMPENSATED FOR GETTING BANGED UP, ALTHOUGH I DIDN'T BREAK ANY BONES. IT WAS VERY SCARY. I GOT A POLICE REPORT AS WELL.
TWICE NOW SINCE I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE (IN APRIL OF THIS YEAR) I HAVE EXPERIENCED INCIDENTS OF WHAT APPEAR TO BE RANDOM PROXIMITY COLLISION ALERTS (INDICATED BY BRAKE!! ON THE CONSOLE) FOLLOWED BY A SUDDEN AUTOMATIC BRAKING, FOR WHICH I DISCERNED NO PENDING THREATS IN THE LINE OF TRAVEL. THIS ACTION RESULTED IN AN UNEXPECTED AND VERY UNNERVING SUDDEN DROP IN VEHICLE SPEED IN TRAFFIC; IN THE LATTER CASE I WAS ALMOST REAR-ENDED AS A RESULT OF THE EXTREMELY HARSH BRAKING ACTION

THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY SURGED FORWARD INTO DRIVE AND CRASHED INTO THE CONTACT'S GARAGE DOOR. THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL NOISE AND ENTERED THE VEHICLE TO ENSURE THAT THE GEAR WAS PLACED IN PARK. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V240000 (POWER TRAIN). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE AUTO BRAKES FOR NO REASON, IT SENSED A STOPPED VEHICLE IN THE LEFT TURNING LANE AND SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES TWICE, I WAS IN THE LEFT LANE GOING 35 MILES PER HOUR; THIS HAS HAPPENED IN THE PAST ALSO. I DID REPORT THIS TO THE MANUFACTURER ABOUT SIX MONTHS AGO VIA EMAIL, I SAVED THE EMAILS AND THEIR RESPONSE. I COULD HAVE BEEN REAR ENDED BY A VEHICLE BEHIND ME BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM, LITERALLY ONCE IT STARTS I HAVE NO CONTROL OVER WHAT THE VEHICLE DOES, THERE IS NO WAY TO STOP THE JEEP FROM BRAKING. I SHUDDER TO THINK IF IT HAPPENED ON A FREEWAY. I WAS TRAVELING ON A STRAIGHT ROAD GOING 35 MILES PER HOUR IN THE LEFT LANE. ON THE EVENING OF 8/22/2016 I WAS DRIVING IN THE DARK AND MY AUTOMATIC HIGH BEAMS MALFUNCTIONED SEVERAL TIMES. THEY USED TO WORK PERFECTLY NOW THEY STAY ON AND BLIND ONCOMING DRIVERS AND THE DRIVERS AHEAD OF ME, THEY ALSO FAIL TO COME ONE WHEN I AM IN THE DARK AND THERE ARE NO OTHER CARS; BOTH INCIDENTS OF HIGH BEAM MALFUNCTION HAPPENED ON A COUNTRY ROAD AND ON THE FREEWAY LAST NIGHT. THIS PROBLEM STARTED IMMEDIATELY AFTER I HAD THE ELECTRONIC SHIFTER UPDATED AT THE DEALER AND SOME OTHER SOFTWARE UPDATES THAT WERE DUE BUT I DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY DID, I JUST KNOW THEY WERE SOFTWARE RELATED AND PART OF A RECALL. SAID VEHICLE IS GOING BACK TO THE DEALER FOR SEVERAL HOURS OF WORK ON THE SOFTWARE FOR BOTH THE HIGH BEAMS AN THE BRAKING SYSTEM ON THURSDAY, AUGUST 25, 2016.
I DRIVE THE 2014 GR CHEROKEE WITH THE ELECTRONIC GEAR SHIFTER THAT HAS BEEN RECALLED FOR THE SHIFTER NOT ENGAGING ALL OF THE WAY INTO PARK. I HAD THE RECALL 'FIX' DONE A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO, BUT THEN FOUND OUT FROM THE DEALER THAT THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ONLY ENGAGES IF YOU ATTEMPT TO OPEN ONE OF THE DOORS. ABOUT A WEEK AGO, AFTER PARALLEL PARKING ON A BUSY CITY STREET, I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND REMAINED IN THE CAR FOR ABOUT ANOTHER MINUTE WHILE FISHING QUARTERS OUT OF MY CUPHOLDER (FOR THE PARKING METER). I ALL OF A SUDDEN FELT LIKE SOMETHING HIT MY CAR, LOOKED UP ONLY TO FIND MY CAR HAD ROLLED BACKWARD INTO THE PARKED CAR BEHIND ME. I HAVE A HUGE BIKE RACK ON THE BACK OF MY JEEP THAT BLOCKS THE REVERSE CAMERA, SO THE AUDIBLE SECURITY ALERT IS ALWAYS ON WHEN THE CAR IS IN REVERSE - THIS ALERT DID NOT COME ON WHILE THE CAR WAS ROLLING BACKWARD, THEREFORE, THE CAR WAS NOT IN REVERSE, BUT RATHER NOT IN PARK ALL OF THE WAY. THANKFULLY THERE WERE NO PEDESTRIANS BEHIND MY CAR, NOR ANY DAMAGE TO EITHER VEHICLE, HOWEVER, IF A PERSON WOULD HAVE HAD THEIR BACK TO ME, I WOULD HAVE CRUSHED THEM BETWEEN THE TWO CARS. MY CAR HAS NOW BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR 6 DAYS (SECOND TIME FOR SAME ISSUE) AND I'M DEALING WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENTS WITHIN CHRYSLER/JEEP TO RECTIFY THIS ISSUE SOMEHOW. I WANT EITHER A NEW GEAR SHIFTER THAT IS NOT ELECTRONIC, OR TO GET OUT OF THIS VEHICLE. THIS GEAR SHIFTER IS AN ENORMOUS SAFETY HAZARD. I FEEL LIKE I'M GETTING THE RUN-AROUND, TO SAY THE LEAST, ABOUT A MAJOR RECALL THAT IS THE AUTO MAKERS FAULT, NOT THE CONSUMER. FOR THE RECORD, I HAVE BEEN DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 YEARS AND TYPICALLY AVERAGE 20-30K MILES/YEAR. I AM CONSULTING A LAWYER AT THIS POINT.
MY JEEP WAS SERVICED TWICE FOR THE RECENT SHIFTER PROBLEM THAT CHRYSLER IDENTIFIES AS DRIVER INATTENTION OR CONFUSION. THE SOFTWARE PATCH THAT IS INTENDED TO "AUTO PARK" THE VEHICLE, HAS FAILED ON TWO OCCASIONS. THE ENGINE IS STARTED, I APPLY THE BRAKE AND PLACE THE SHIFTER INTO REVERSE OR A FORWARD GEAR. I THE DESIRED GEAR IS ILLUMINATED AND I EASE OF THE BRAKE, HOWEVER, WHEN APPLY GAS THE ENGINE SIMPLY RACES AS IF THE TRANSMISSION IS STILL IN PARK OR NEUTRAL. JEEPS ATTEMPT TO FIX A PROBLEM HAS NOW LED TO ANOTHER PROBLEM. THIS VEHICLE IS UNRELIABLE AND A DEATH MACHINE. I HAVE NO CONFIDENCE IN IT'S OPERATION AND I CAN'T IN GOOD CONSCIENCE SELL THIS VEHICLE TO ANYONE. JEEP CORPORATE SHOULD BE IN JAIL.
AFTER STARTING VEHICLE, DRIVER SMELLED SMOKE, BUT DID NOT KNOW THE SOURCE OF SMOKE. (DRIVER THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE SOMETHING BURNING IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD.) BY THE TIME DRIVER HAD DRIVEN 2.2 MILES ON CITY ROADS (AT SPEED <40 MPH), SMOKE BEGAN BILLOWING FROM THE USB PORT ON THE FRONT DASH. DRIVER PULLED OVER ON THE SHOULDER OF A CITY STREET. THE FRONT DASH AROUND USB PORT WAS NOW GLOWING ORANGE. DRIVER TURNED OFF VEHICLE, TOSSED A CUP OF WATER ONTO FRONT DASH IN AREA OF USB PORT, EXITED VEHICLE AND CALLED 911. POLICE AND FIRE PERSONNEL RESPONDED. FIRST RESPONDERS SAID WATER EXTINGUISHED FIRE. VEHICLE OWNER CALLED LOCAL JEEP DEALER, WHO SAID IN THE CASE OF FIRE TO CALL JEEP CUSTOMER SERVICE AT 1-800-992-1997. LOCAL JEEP DEALER SUGGESTED THE OWNER ALSO CALL OWNER'S INSURANCE COMPANY. JEEP CUSTOMER SERVICE ASSIGNED A CASE # AND SAID OWNER WOULD BE CONTACTED IN 2-3 BUSINESS DAYS. OWNER HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO LOCAL JEEP DEALER. JEEP FCA SENT A 3RD PARTY INVESTIGATOR TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE. 21 DAYS AFTER FIRE INCIDENT, JEEP FCA ISSUED A LETTER TO OWNER STATING, "IN THE ABSENCE OF ANY SUBSTANTIATING EVIDENCE INDICATING THAT THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE WAS ATTRIBUTED TO A CONDITION EXISTING IN THE VEHICLE WHEN IT LEFT OUR MANUFACTURING PLANT, WE FIND IT NECESSARY TO DENY RESPONSIBILITY IN THIS MATTER."
A MESSAGE ON THE UCONNECT SCREEN POP UP SEVERAL TIMES A DAY IN BRIGHT RED SAYING THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE: 9-1-1 VEHICLE PHONE REQUIRES SERVICE PLEASE CONTACT YOUR DEALER. WHEN THAT HAPPENS THE ASSIST/ 911 EMERGENCY BUTTON ON THE REARVIEW MIRROR LIGHTS UP RED AND IS ENOPERABLE/NO LONGER WORKING. EITHER THE PUMP CLICKS OFF LIKE THE VEHICLE IS FULL WHEN IT IS EMPTY OR THE PUMP DOES NOT CLICK OFF WHEN THE VEHICLE IS FULL. THE FIRST INCIDENT WAS THE FIRST FUEL AFTER PURCHASE. THE PUMP CLICKED OFF IN THE BEGINNING OF THE FUELING PROCESS. I ATTEMPTED TO POSITION THE NOZZLE A LITTLE DIFFERENT AND RESTARTED TO FUEL. WHEN I DID THIS THE FUEL CAME BACK OUT AND COVERED MY SHOES AND PANTS WITH FUEL. I IMMEDIATELY LET THE SALES PERSON KNOW I WAS HAVING A PROBLEM THAT CONCERNED ME AND HE STATED TO TRY OTHER PUMPS. TRYING OTHER PUMPS DID NOT WORK. I BEGAN THE FUELING PROCESS AND THE PUMP DID NOT SHUT OFF WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS FULL. IT RESULTED IN GAS SPLASHING ONTO MY FACE, EYES, BODY, AND FEET. IN ADDITION THE VEHICLE WAS DRENCHED IN FUEL. THE SERVICE STATION HAD TO SHUT DOWN THE PUMP AND CLEAN UP THE CHEMICAL SPILL. DEALERSHIP HAD THE JEEP 7 DAYS. I BROUGHT IT BACK TO THEM AND ASKED THEM TO DO THE FIRST FILL AFTER THE FIX. THE VEHICLE AGAIN OVERFLOWED ALL OVER. IT CREATES STRONG FUMES FOR DAYS INSIDE THE VEHICLE. IT IS A MAJOR THREAT TO MY PERSONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH AS WELL AS TO OTHERS IF A FIRE STARTS.THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.

THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO MANEUVER THE GEAR SHIFT FROM PARK TO DRIVE AND TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO REPLICATE AND DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT WAS IN THE PROCESS OF MAKING A LEFT TURN WHILE IN DRIVE WHEN THE GEAR SELECTOR CHANGED INTO PARK. THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN AND WAS TOWED TO A DEALER. THE CONTACT WAS WAITING ON A RESPONSE FROM THE MANUFACTURER TO SEE IF THEY COULD SEND A TECHNICIAN TO DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
