AUTOMATIC HEADLIGHT DIMMER SYSTEM - HIGH-BEAM TO LOW-BEAM NON-OPERABLE. I BELIEVE THE SENSOR DEVICE BEHIND THE REARVIEW MIRROR IS FAULTY. *TR
I REALLY NEED YOUR HELP. IN APRIL OF 2014 I BOUGHT A BRAND NEW JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE SUMMIT EDITION FOR $60,000. I WAS THRILLED TO HAVE FINALLY OWNED MY DREAM CAR SINCE 1997! I STARTED HAVING ISSUES WITH THE CAR IN AUGUST... AND WHEN I SAY ISSUES, I DON'T MEAN THE RADIO BLITZING OUT. THE CAR TURNED OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF A 4 WAY INTERSECTION AND WOULDN'T RESTART FOR 3-4 ATTEMPTS!!!! TERRIFIED I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO SAID IT REGISTERED SOME CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CODES BUT THEY COULDN'T FIND WHY IT DID THAT. THEY TURNED THE LIGHT OFF AND HAD ME PICK THE CAR UP. AFTER REPEATING THE SAME THING, ABOUT 8-10 MORE TIMES THE CAR JUST SHUTTING OFF AND GOING BACK INTO THE SHOP A SECOND AND THIRD TIME THEY NOW SAID OH WE FIGURED OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS AND ITS FIXED. I WAS THRILLED FOR THIS TO BE OVER! A COUPLE WEEKS LATER I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY GOING 65 MPH WITH NO CARS AROUND ME OR INSIGHT. ALL OF THE SUDDEN THE CAR DASHBOARD SAID BRAKE!!! AND THE CAR APPLIED THE ABS BRAKES AND ABRUPTLY SLOWED THE CAR DOWN TO 40 MPH!!!! I WAS SO SCARED AT THAT POINT, TO TOP IT OFF THE CAR AGAIN SHUT OFF AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BACK ON. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE 4TH TIME WHERE THEY NOW HAVE PUT ME IN A RENTAL FOR 40 DAYS. THIS TIME I WAS TOLD MY CAR REGISTERED 57 CODES BUT THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO FIX OR DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. I EXPRESSED MY CONCERN WHEN I WAS ASKED TO PICK THE CAR UP. I DON'T FEEL SAFE IN THAT CAR AND I HAVE LOST FAITH IN THAT VEHICLE. I ASKED THAT THEY BUY THE CAR BACK SINCE IT LEGALLY FALLS UNDER THE LEMON LAW AND THEY REFUSED. THEY LEFT ME NO CHOICE BUT TO HIRE A LEMON LAW ATTORNEY. I NOW HAVE LOST FAITH IN JEEP/CHRYSLER FOR THE WAY THEY ARE HANDLING THIS. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 59 MPH, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO A GUARD RAIL. THE VEHICLE WENT AIRBORNE AND LANDED IN A DITCH OF WATER. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED AN INJURED BACK, THE FRONT PASSENGER HAD TO GET STITCHES FROM THE IMPACT OF THE WINDOW GLASS, AND THE REAR SEAT PASSENGER HAD WATER IN THE LUNGS AND CONTUSIONS TO HIS HEAD, WHICH ALL REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHERE I SPEND MOST OF MY TIME WHILE IN MY VEHICLE PUTTING OVER 30K MILES ON MY CAR IN ONE YEAR TO GET BACK AND FORTH TO WORK AND WHILE JUMPING ON A MAJOR ROUTE 101A IN NH WHERE CARS DRIVE VERY FAST MY ENGINE SHUTS DOWN AND I CAN NOT DO ANYTHING BUT PUT ON MY HAZARD LIGHTS AND HOPE THE CARS PASSING AT 65MPH DONT HIT ME. THIS HAPPENED AT LEAST 3 - 5 TIMES AFTERWARD AND EVEN A COUPLE OF TIMES AFTER HAVING THE DEALER LOOKING INTO THE VEHICLE AND I HAVE BEEN TOLD IT WAS A SOFTWARE UPDATE BUT THEY ARE UNABLE TO PROVIDE ME WITH THE DETAILS OF WHAT THE SOFTWARE UPDATE IS AND WHAT IT RESOLVES. I HAVE SINCE HAD THE ISSUE AND BROUGHT IT IN FOR SERVICE NUMEROUS TIMES AND I TOLD THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER AND THEY KEEP REINSTALLING MY SOFTWARE AND TELL ME THAT IT'S ALL SET AND I AM NO LONGER SATISFIED NOR FEEL SAFE IN MY VEHICLE THAT I PUT A LOT OF HIGHWAY MILES TO GET BACK AND FORTH TO WORK. AS PREVIOUSLY REPORTED, THIS VEHICLE MAKES A LOUD POPPING SOUND AND LURCHES AT COLD START UP. THE SOUND IS AUDIBLE INSIDE THE VEHICLE AND OUTSIDE FROM ABOUT TEN FEET. DEALER HAD IT IN SERVICE FOR THREE WEEKS BEFORE BEING INFORMED BY CORPORATE THAT THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE FIXED. THEY SAID IT WAS "NORMAL" AND IT FUNCTIONS AS DESIGNED. THE PROBLEM CONTINUES AND HAS RENDERED THE VEHICLE UNSALABLE.
I WAS ON THE I-94 ENTRANCE/EXIT RAMP BETWEEN FULLERTON AVENUE AND WESTERN AVENUE. JUST BEFORE WESTERN AVE: THE LEFT LANE IS INTENDED FOR VEHICLES ENTERING I-94 NORTHBOUND, THE RIGHT LANE IS INTENDED FOR VEHICLES THAT ARE PROCEEDING TO WESTERN AVE. WHEN THE EVEN OCCURRED, THERE WAS A LINE OF VEHICLES STOPPED IN THE LEFT LANE DUE TO TRAFFIC CONGESTION ON I-94. I WAS TRAVELING IN THE RIGHT LANE AND HAD NO CARS DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF ME. AS I BEGAN TO PASS THE LONG LINE OF VEHICLES THAT WERE WAITING TO ENTER ON TO I-94 ON MY LEFT, THE AUTOMATIC BRAKING SYSTEM BEGAN TO CHIME AND BRAKING BEGAN FOR NO REASON. I QUICKLY REACHED DOWN, DISABLED THE ABS FUNCTION, GLANCED IN MY REAR-VIEW MIRROR AND SAW THAT I HAD COME DANGEROUSLY CLOSE TO BEING REAR-ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. AFTER A FEW WEEKS, I RE-ENABLED THE FEATURE THINKING THAT THE EVENT WAS A FLUKE. I RE-ENABLED IT, BUT HAD A HANDFUL OF INSTANCES WHERE THE BRAKES WOULD BE APPLIED IN SEEMINGLY INAPPROPRIATE SITUATIONS - MOSTLY ALL OF THEM IN DENSE CITY DRIVING. THE VEHICLE NOW HAS 10K MILES ON IT. I HAVE YET TO TAKE IT IN FOR SERVICE ON THIS OR THE MULTITUDE OF FACTORY RECALLS. POSSIBLY RELATED, THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS OCCASIONS WHERE THE PARKING SENSOR CHIMES HAVE GONE OFF WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS MOVING -OR- IN GEAR, BUT STOPPED AT A STOPLIGHT. I OFTEN LEAVE THE FEATURE DISABLED UNTIL I GET READY TO PARK. *TR
I'VE BEEN TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP WITH THE NOTICE THAT WAS SENT ME FROM CHRYSLER AND HAVE BEEN THEIR AT LEAST TWICE IN THE LAST FOUR MONTHS, AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT I'M ON A WAITING LIST. I WOULD THINK IF THIS WAS A SAFETY CONCERN THIS SHOULD BE REPAIRED IMMEDIATELY. NOT SURE WHERE TO GO HERE. *TR

PRESSED ON GAS PEDAL TO GO ACROSS INTERSECTION AND CAR DID NOT GO, THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR LUNGED OUT INTO TRAFFIC AND HIT TWO OTHER CARS IN THE INTERSECTION.

THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE A SPECIFIC DATE FOR WHEN THE PARTS WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER COULD NOT PROVIDE AN ESTIMATED DATE FOR WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD RECEIVE THE RECALL REPAIRS. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
SUDDEN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION "SUA" OCCURS AT A COMPLETE STOP WITH BRAKE APPLIED. FIRST TIME 08/14 AS I PULLED INTO A FORWARD FACING CURB-I HAD JUST COME TO A COMPLETE STOP AND WAS ABOUT TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK WHEN THE ENGINE LOUDLY SURGED. I WAS ASTONISHED AND GOT THE CAR INTO NEUTRAL;THE SURGING STOPPED. THE CAR WAS NEW AND I COULD NOT BELIEVE THIS HAPPENED-I WAS DUMBFOUNDED. THE SECOND TIME THE "SUA" HAPPENED WAS 01/26/15 -I CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP AT TRAFFIC LIGHT BEHIND SEVERAL CARS. AS I CAME TO A STOP WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE THE CAR'S ENGINE SURGED VIOLENTLY AND THE CAR TRIED TO MOVE FORWARD. MY HUSBAND WAS A PASSENGER IN THE CAR AND WITNESSED MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE. I IMMEDIATELY MOVED THE GEAR SHIFT TO NEUTRAL AND SURGING STOPPED. I RELAYED THIS INCIDENT TO JEEP SERVICE REP BY EMAIL WHO SAID HE NEVER HEARD OF THIS. THE THIRD TIME OF "SUA" WAS 6/25/15; I WAS FIRST CAR AT TRAFFIC LIGHT. I CAME TO COMPLETE STOP WITH FOOT APPLIED TO BRAKE WHEN THE ENGINE SURGED, THE CAR SQUEALED AND JUMPED ABOUT 3-4 FEET INTO THE INTERSECTION; I GOT THE GEAR INTO NEUTRAL AND THE SURGING SUBSIDED. TOOK THE CAR TO JEEP DEALER WHO TRIED TO DUPLICATE THE SITUATION OVER A PERIOD OF 14 DAYS WITHOUT SUCCESS. I ALSO CONTACTED CHRYSLER CORP. WHO OPENED AND THEN DROPPED A CASE. FOURTH TIME ON 12/03/16-I WAS 3RD CAR AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT AND, AGAIN, CAME TO COMPLETE STOP WITH FOOT ON THE BRAKE WHEN THE ENGINE SURGED VIOLENTLY AND RAMMED THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME DAMAGING MY CAR AND HIS. IN THIS INSTANCE I WAS UNABLE TO GET THE CAR TO NEUTRAL IN TIME. CHRYSLER CORP WAS CONTACTED, THEY INVESTIGATED BY RETRIEVING INFO FROM EDR AND CONCLUDED "WE ARE NOT LED TO BELIEVE THIS IS A MANUFACTURING RESPONSIBILITY AND ...DECLINE ANY ASSISTANCE WITH THIS INCIDENT." OUR WRITTEN REQUESTS FOR THE DATA RESULTS HAVE BEEN IGNORED. JEEP SERVICE WILL NOT ISSUE US A REPAIR ORDER-THE CAR IS UNSAFE!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE EQUIPPED WITH PIRELLI SCORPION ALL SEASON RUN FLAT TIRES (NA), SIZE 295/45/20R 110W (NA). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDE TIRES EXPERIENCED EXCESSIVE WEAR, WHICH CAUSED DIPS TO DEVELOP ON THE TREAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TIRES NEEDED TO BE ROTATED. THE TIRE ROTATION WAS PERFORMED; HOWEVER, THE TIRES CONTINUED TO WEAR EXCESSIVELY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, WHO AFTER AN INVESTIGATION DETERMINED THAT THE FAILURE WAS INHERENT TO THE VEHICLE. THE TIRES WERE REPLACED. THE TIRE AND VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,000.
OUR VEHICLE COMPLETELY LOST ALL POWER WHILE TRAVELING IN HEAVY TRAFFIC IN THE LEFT HAND LANE OF A MAJOR FOUR LANE HIGHWAY AT ~75 MILES PER HOUR PUTTING US IN A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION DUE TO THE DIFFICULTY MANEUVERING (LOSS OF STEERING AND BRAKES) THE VEHICLE ACROSS THREE LANES TO THE RIGHT SIDE EMERGENCY LANE. SEVERAL DIFFERENT TOW TRUCKS HAD TO BE CALLED CAUSING US TO BE LEFT SITTING FOR HOURS ON A HAZARDOUS INTERSTATE. THE VEHICLE WAS NEVER ABLE TO BE RESTARTED UNTIL IT HAD BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL HOURS. THE CONSUMER EXPERIENCED AN IDENTICAL FAILURE ON AUGUST 16,2014 UPDATED 09/10/14
I HAVE BEEN LEASING A 2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE FOR ROUGHLY TEN MONTHS. THROUGHOUT THAT TIME, I HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED AT LEAST THREE TIMES OF ACTIVE SAFETY RECALL NOTICES FOR MY VEHICLE. MY VEHICLE SHOWS COMPUTER MODULES BROKEN WHICH AS A RESULT HAS DISABLED MY AIR BAGS. IN ADDITION, MY VEHICLE HAS A SAFETY RECALL FOR A BRAKE BOOSTER AND NOW AN INOPERATIVE VANITY LAMP WHICH MAY CAUSE A FIRE. MY VEHICLE IS ENTIRELY AND COMPLETELY UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND CHRYSLER JEEP IS NOT TAKING THE APPROPRIATE IMMEDIATE ACTION TO RECTIFY THIS EVENT. I AM BEING FORCED TO DRIVE A VEHICLE WITH POSSIBLY DETERIORATED BRAKES, AND DISABLED AIR BAGS. *TR

HAVE 2 RECALLS, P36/NHTSA 14V-391 AND P67/NHTSA 14V-643, THAT HAVE YET TO BE FIXED. THE P36 IS FROM AUGUST 2014 AND P67 FROM APPROX 1YR AGO.THE DEALER, NOW APPLE CHRYSLER/JEEP HANOVER, PA, TOLD ME I AM ON A WAITING LIST DUE TO NO PARTS TO FIX FOR P36 AND HAVE ASKED THEM SEVERAL TIMES FOR P67 TO INCLUDE DURING NORMAL SERVICE. NEITHER HAVE BEEN FIXED TO DATE. WROTE CHRYSLER SOME 6 MONTHS AGO ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND THEY PASSED ME TO THE DEALER WHO SAID THEY WOULD GET BACK TO ME - STILL NO RESPONSE. EMAILED A COMPLAINT TO CHRYSLER CORP AGAIN TODAY. MY WIFE ONLY DRIVES THE VEHICLE WHEN SHE MUST, FOR FEAR IT MAY CATCH FIRE OR THE PASSIVE RESTRAINT SYSTEM TO FAIL WITH GRANDCHILDREN ABOARD. THESE RECALLS, OVER A YEAR OLD, SHOWS CHRYSLER HAS NO REGARD FOR IT'S CUSTOMERS LETTING THEM DRIVE UNSAFE VEHICLES FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME.

THERE WERE TWO MESSAGES THAT APPEARED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL: EXHAUST FILTER NEARING FLOW AND DRIVE AT HIGHWAY SPEED TO REMEDY. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER, BUT THE RESULTS WERE UNKNOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,294.
2014 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO TRANSMISSION ISSUES. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED TWICE, HE ENCOUNTERED A SERIOUS PROBLEM. WHEN HE ATTEMPTED TO MAKE A TURN, THE VEHICLE ALMOST STALLED. HE TRIED PUMPING THE ACCELERATOR, BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD ONLY MOVE AT A CRAWL. THE SECOND INCIDENT OCCURRED ON JULY 31, 2014, THE CONSUMER WAS ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A TURN, WHEN THE VEHICLE ALMOST STALLED. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THERE WERE SOME WIRES THAT RUBBED AGAINST SOMETHING THAT CAUSED THE ENGINE TO STALL. *JB
TRANSMISSION WILL SHUDDER WHILE ACCELERATING MAKING THE VEHICLE DANGEROUS AND DIFFICULT TO CONTROL. VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES AND THEY HAVE YET TO FIX IT. RESEARCH HAS LED ME TO BELIEVE THAT THIS IS IMPACTING MANY OTHER JEEP'S ON THE ROAD TODAY. I DO NOT BELIEVE THEY ARE SAFE TO BE ON THE ROAD UNTIL THE PROBLEM IS REMEDIED. *TR
I HAVE NO HAD AN INCIDENT YET BUT NONE OF THE DEALERSHIPS ARE CLAIMING TO HAVE THE PART AVAILABLE AND SAY IT IS ON BACK ORDER. THIS IS RIDICULOUS THAT A SAFETY RECALL IS IN EFFECT AND THEY DO NOT MAKE EVERY ATTEMPT TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM FOR A CUSTOMER WHO JUST SPENT 50,000.00. *JS
THE VEHICLE, A JEEP GC WITH V6 TURBO DIESEL, JUST DIED WHILE ON THE FREEWAY AND HAD TO BE TOWED. WE TRIED TO START IT ABOUT 10 TIMES OVER THE NEXT 36 HOURS WITHOUT SUCCESS. THEN IT DID START AND DROVE OK FOR ABOUT AN HOUR AND A HALF ON THE HIGHWAY AND THEN DIED IMMEDIATELY WHILE DRIVING 75 MPH. IT WAS TOWED TO A CHRYSLER DEALER WHERE THEY SAID THEY REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP. *TR

AS YOU ACCELERATE THE DIESEL GRAND CHEROKEE AND IT REACHES 7TH GEAR, THE CAR STARTS SHUDDERING AS IF THE VEHICLE IS ABOUT TO "FALL APART". THIS ISSUE HAPPENS EVERY TIME WHEN IN 7TH AND 8TH GEAR. I'VE HAD TO USE THE PADDLE SHIFTERS TO MAINTAIN THE VEHICLE IN 6TH GEAR TO AVOID SUCH SHAKING IN THE HIGHWAY. I'VE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO AN EMPTY ROAD AND ACCELERATED TO REPRODUCE THE ISSUE AND KEPT MY FOOT IN THE PETAL AND IT EVENTUALLY SETTLES DOWN AFTER 8TH GEAR. BUT IF YOU REMOVE FOOT FROM GAS AND LET THE CAR SHIFT BACK TO 6TH WHEN YOU RE-ACCELERATE THE SHUDDERING RETURNS AGAIN. THE ENTIRE CAR JUST SHAKES. AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE I STARTED THE FIRST LEG OF A 2000 MILE ROAD TRIP COMPRISING OF HIGHWAY AND WINDING RURAL ROADS. DURING A WINDING MOUNTAINOUS SECTION OF THE JOURNEY I STARTED TO SMELL SOMETHING I THOUGHT TO BE POSSIBLY A FBRUSH FIRE OR SOMETHING BURNING IN THE LOCALE I WAS DRIVING THROUGH. FOR THE REMAINDER OF THIS LEG OF THE TRIP I USED THE PADDLE SHIFTERS TO REDUCE MY BRAKE USE. UPON A FUEL STOP BEFORE ENDING THE DAY'S TRAVEL, I NOTICED A THICK LAYER OF GREASE COATING THE INSIDE OF THE FRONT LEFT WHEEL. I DID A INTERNET SEARCH TO SEE IF THIS WAS A KNOWN ISSUE TO FIND SEVERAL OTHER OWNERS HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE. I HAVE SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT AT A JEEP DEALER FOR SERVICE. I WAS DRIVING APPROX 30MPH ON A SURFACE STREET AND ATTEMPTED TO BRAKE AS A MOVED INTO A LEFT TURN LANE. THE BRAKES DID NOT RESPOND TO TOUCH AND MY FOOT NEARLY WENT TO THE FLOOR. THE JEEP DECELERATED TO ALMOST A STOP UNTIL I BRIEFLY REACCELERATED TO APPROX 5MPH (BECAUSE I WAS STUNNED AND THOUGHT THERE WAS NO WAY THAT THE BRAKES HAD FAILED ON A BRAND NEW VEHICLE) AND ATTEMPTED TO BRAKE AGAIN BUT MY FOOT NEARLY WENT TO THE FLOOR AGAIN WITHOUT A BRAKE RESPONSE. THE POWER BRAKES WERE DEFINITELY NOT WORKING, AND THE BRAKING POWER WITH MY FOOT NEARLY TO THE FLOOR WAS INCREDIBLY UNRESPONSIVE. I COASTED INTO A PARKING LOT, HIT THE ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE BUTTON IN MY JEEP, AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. EVEN THE TOW DRIVER NOTED HOW UNRESPONSIVE THE BRAKES WERE AS HE LOADED THE VEHICLE ON THE TRUCK. THE SERVICE ADVISOR AT THE DEALERSHIP CALLED A FEW HOURS LATER TO TELL ME THAT THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED BECAUSE THE JEEP'S "MASTER CYLINDER FAILED" AND THAT "THE PARTS ARE ON NATIONAL BACKORDER" AND "THE PARTS ARE BEING BUILT." HE SAID MY JEEP IS THE FIRST 2014 THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO AND ADVISED THAT I WOULD BE IN THE LOANER RENTAL CAR FOR A MINIMUM OF ONE WEEK WHILE THEY AWAIT THE PARTS TO REPAIR THE JEEP. *TR

I RECEIVED A FOLLOW-UP CALL FROM "LIA" FOR AN APT ON JUNE 30 BUT SERVICE HOURS NOT CONDUCIVE FOR MY WORKING SCHEDULE....SO I PHONED "ARMORY" BUT THE SERVICE DEPT STATES THEY HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY PARTS FROM THE MANUFACTURER YET. I SAW GREASE LEAKING OUT OF BOTH HALF SHAFT BOOTS ON FRONT WHEELS AND BRAKES CAR IS IN SHOP TO HAVE HALF SHAFTS REPLACE HOE EVER DON'T NO WHEN MY CAR WILL BE FIXED. *TR
VEHICLE SUDDENLY AND WITHOUT WARNING GOT STUCK IN 4TH GEAR AND WOULDN'T SHIFT INTO A HIGHER OR LOWER GEAR MAKING IT UNABLE TO ACCELERATE AND SAFELY EXIT THE HIGHWAY. I WAS EVENTUALLY ABLE TO GET THE CAR PULLED OVER TO SAFETY AND HAD IT TOWED TO A LOCAL DEALERSHIP. TRANSMISSION LOCKS UP AFTER STARTING, UNABLE TO SHIFT INTO ANY GEAR, AND MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT "MIL" IS ILLUMINATED. IN ORDER TO GET THE VEHICLE TO MOVE IT MUST BE SHUT OFF AND ON, SOMETIMES MORE THAN ONE TIME. AFTER 4 INCIDENTS, JEEP GC WAS BROUGHT TO LOCAL SERVICE DEPT. WHERE SEVERAL FLASH UPDATES WERE PERFORMED TO VEHICLES COMPUTER AND VALVE BODY PUMP BOX WAS ORDERED. JEEP WAS RETURNED FOR SERVICE 3 WEEKS LATER WHERE TRANSMISSION PUMP BOX WAS REPLACED AND TRANSMISSION RE-TRAINED. SINCE THEN THE ISSUE HAS CONTINUED TO OCCUR ON 3 SEPARATE OCCASIONS. ADDITIONALLY, NOW THE DIESEL EXHAUST REGENERATION COMES ON EVERY 30-40 MILES WHERE THE CAR MUST CONTINUE TO BE RUN UNTIL REGEN HAS COMPLETED, NO CHANGES HAD BEEN MADE TO DRIVING HABITS AND PRIOR TO TRANSMISSION WORK REGEN HAD NEVER NEEDED TO COME ON. IT IS UNKNOWN IF THE JEEP GC CAN MOVE WHEN THE MIL AND LOCKED SHIFTER OCCUR AS THE ISSUE HAS OCCURRED ONLY IN FLAT AREAS (MOSTLY HOME GARAGE), HOWEVER THIS COULD BE A DEADLY ISSUE IF PARKED ON HILL AND IF VEHICLE TRANSMISSION IS NOT LOCKING GEARS AND CAN MOVE FORWARD OR BACK.
