THE HEADREST ON MY 2015 JEEP CHEROKEE INADVERTENTLY DEPLOYED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. INSPECTION OF THE HEADREST SHOWS THE PLASTIC BRACKET HOLDING THE METAL PIN IS BROKEN AND YET THE HOLDING CLAMP IS NOT RELEASED. THE HEADREST CANNOT BE RESET. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WHEN THIS OCCURRED. I AM VERY CONCERNED AFTER READING OTHER INCIDENTS WHERE THIS CAN OCCUR ON THE DRIVER SIDE AS WELL WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION. YOU NEED TO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS BEFORE SOMEONE, LIKE ME, GETS KILLED.
THE HEADREST TO MY JEEP POPPED OUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING. IT IS STILL ATTACHED, BUT SEEMS TO BE HANGING BY A THREAD. AFTER LOOKING INSIDE, IT APPEARS THE PLASTIC BROKE OFF THE PART THAT HOLDS THE HEADREST SECURELY. I'VE CALLED CHRYSLER AND THEY SAID THEY WON'T REPLACE IT UNLESS IT HAS COMPLETELY FALLEN OFF. I DON'T MEET THE RECALL REQUIREMENTS AND I THINK IT'S VERY CARELESS OF CHRYSLER TO NOT FIX A FAULTY PART.
Third steering rack in 4 years. Vehicle only has 40K miles on it. Each time there is a drop in power steering fluid and a leak identified in the power steering boot.
MY JEEP STALLED IN 50MPH TRAFFIC CAUSING A HORRIBLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. I BARELY COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, AND IT WOULDN'T RESTART. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE I WAS LATER TOLD MY TONE/RELUCTOR WHEEL HAD BROKEN RESULTING IN LOSS OF SIGNAL FROM THE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR SO THE VEHICLE SHUT DOWN.
There is a claim on my CarMax that never happened to my Jeep. The accident from January 2021 where “my car rolled over” never occurred

THIS 2015 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE ECODIESEL HAS AN OPEN RECALL FOR THE EGR SYSTEM (RECALL W79). ON DECEMBER 29, 2020, THE MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON. I CALLED THE DEALER (TURNERSVILLE JEEP) FOR AN APPOINTMENT ON MONDAY, JANUARY 4, 2021. THE FIRST AVAILABLE APPOINTMENT WAS ON TUESDAY, JANUARY 12 2021. THIS DEALER KEPT THE VEHICLE UNTIL FRIDAY, JANUARY 15. THIS DEALER DECLINED TO REPAIR THE EGR SYSTEM UNDER THE W79 RECALL, BUT DID REPLACE ALL FUEL INJECTORS AND THE FUEL TUBES AFTER FINDING THE FUEL INJECTORS RESTRICTED. THIS DEALER THEN CLEARED THE DTC P026C-00 AND PERFORMED A STATIONARY REGENERATION. I PICKED THE VEHICLE UP AT 5:15 PM ON FRIDAY, JANUARY 15, 2021 AND PROCEEDED TO ROAD TEST THE VEHICLE. AFTER ABOUT 75 MILES OF DRIVING, I SUFFERED A EXTEME AND SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER AT APPROXIMATELY 7:30 PM; THE DASH INDICATORS INCLUDED THE MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LAMP, AN ERROR REGARDING THE THROTTLE BODY, AND AN ERROR THAT THE OIL PRESSURE WAS LOW. AS I COASTED TO A STOP, SMOKE BEGAN TO RAPIDLY POUR FROM THE HOOD COVER AND BEGAN TO ENTER THE CABIN THROUGH THE HVAC VENTS. I VACATED THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY AND UNDER SOME DURESS. THE SMOKE CONTINUED TO BILLOW FROM THE ENGINE AREA OF THE VEHICLE AND I COULD SEE IT CONTINUE TO ENTER THE CABIN. AT APPROXIMATELY 9:00 PM ON JANUARY 15, THE VEHICLE WAS DELIVERED BY FLATBED TO PELLEGRINO JEEP. I SPOKE WITH THE PELLEGRINO JEEP SERVICE DEPARTMENT ON SATURDAY, JANUARY 16, 2021, BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO PROVIDE A COMMITMENT TO EXAMINE THE VEHICLE. I OPENED CASE #78239258 WITH FCA (JEEP) US LLC CUSTOMER SERVICE. AS OF JANUARY 20 AT 11:30 AM, I DO NOT HAVE FEEDBACK ON THIS CASE. THE DEALER HAS ALSO PROVIDED NO COMMITMENT TO EXAMINE THE VEHICLE. I BELIEVE THIS VEHICLE SUFFERED A FAILURE DUE TO THE INABILITY OF FCA AND IT'S DEALERS TO REMEDIATE RECALL W79.
I CONTINUE TO HAVE SERVICE SHIFTER AND CHECK ENGINE ISSUES WITH MY VEHICLE, WHICH HAVE BEEN ONGOING FOR THE LAST THREE YEARS. THIS HAS OCCURRED WHILE STATIONARY, IN MOTION BOTH ON CITY/NEIGHBORHOOD STREETS OR ON THE HIGHWAY. IT'S HAPPENED WHILE TURNING AND IN PARK. WHEN THE CHECK ENGINE AND SERVICE SHIFTER LIGHTS COME ONE, IN MANY CASES THE CAR GOES INTO LIMP MODE AND I LOSE THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE, WHICH CAUSES A SEVERE SAFETY RISK IF IT OCCURS WHILE TURNING OR GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. MANY TIMES MY DASHBOARD WILL GO COMPLETELY BLACK FOR SECONDS AND MY WIND SHIELD WIPERS WILL TURN ON. MY CAR HAS BEEN IN THE DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE RELATED TO THIS ISSUE FOR 180 DAYS OVER THE PAST THREE YEARS AND THEY ARE UNABLE TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. THEY HAVE REPLACED THE STEERING CONTROL MODULE, THE TCM, THE TELEMAX COMMUNICATION MODULE, THE TRANSMISSION, AND THE SHIFTER, BUT THE ISSUE ALWAYS COMES BACK. OVER THE LAST SIX MONTHS THE ISSUES HAVE GOTTEN WORSE AND THE VEHICLE IS GETTING MORE UNSAFE TO DRIVE. BASED ON MY RESEARCH THERE ARE A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF THESE ISSUES AND FCA SHOULD TAKE ACTION.
THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADREST DEPLOYED. THE VEHICLE WAS SITTING STILL. I DID RECEIVE A LETTER FOR A RECALL. I MISPLACED THE LETTER. CAN I GET ANOTHER SO WHEN I TAKE IT TO THE DEALER I CAN PRESENT IT TO THEM SO THEY KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON. THANK YOU.
THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT DOES NOT RETRACT BACK TO POSITION. WHEN PARKED AND EXITING THE VEHICLE THE SEAT BELT HANGS AND GETS CAUGHT IN THE DOOR. THIS HAS TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE WITH THE SEAT BELT FITTING SO LOOSE BECAUSE IT NO LONGER RETRACTS.
THE VEHICLE STALLS WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. I WILL BE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT ABOUT 70 MPH AND SOMETIMES THE CAR WILL GIVE A JERK WHEN I ACCELERATE AND SUDDENLY THE VEHICLE SLOWS DOWN TO A STOP (GAS PEDAL DOES NOT WORK TO ACCELERATE) THE CAR SHIFTS ITSELF FROM DRIVE TO NEUTRAL AND A MESSAGE APPEARS ON THE DASH SCREEN "PUT VEHICLE INTO DRIVE". SOMETIMES THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNS ON AND SOMETIMES IS DOES NOT. ONCE THE VEHICLE HAS STOPPED I'M ABLE TO RESTART THE CAR AND DRIVE AGAIN. THIS OCCURS AGAIN SOMETIMES MULTIPLE TIMES IN ONE DAY OR WILL HAPPEN ONCE EVERY WEEK OR SO. I WAS TOLD TO CHANGE THE TCM, BATTERY, SPARK PLUGS AND CLEAN THE FUEL INJECTORS AND THAT DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. I'VE BEEN TO MULTIPLE MECHANICS AND CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP SERVICE CENTERS AND THEY CAN NEVER SEEM TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM SO THEY HAVE NO REAL ANSWERS AS TO WHY THIS IS HAPPENING.
I have a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. While traveling down the highway at approximately 65mph, the entire dash began to blink in and out, all kinds of error symbols flashed, I lost power steering and the car switched itself in to neutral – this resulted in an accident. This car has been In and out of the shop for the past several months. Every time it looks like it fixed, the car’s computer seems to do as it pleases. I lose driving power, it switches itself in neutral or the dash throws error symbols. I am at a point where paying for constant ‘repairs’ and insurance is becoming way too costly. I do NOT feel safe riding with my family in this car!!!
BRAKE SERVICE APT. DISCOVERED A LEAK IN THE STEERING COLUMN. LEAKING ONTO THE BOOT AND REQUIRING A FULL REPLACEMENT OF THE STEERING SYSTEM. $2,000! 2015 JEEP GC. THERE ARE SO MANY COMPLAINTS OF THIS ISSUE WITH JEEP GC'S DATING BACK TO THE EARLIER 2000 MODELS. THEY NEED TO RECALL THESE JEEPS AND GET THIS FIGURED OUT AS HYDROLIC FLUID USED IN STEERING IS HIGHLY FLAMMABLE, CORROSIVE TO THE BOOTS AND PERVASIVE IN THESE SUVS!
HEAT STOPPED WORKING JUST CUT OFF CLIMATE OFF SCREEN INDICATES
DEFECTIVE ACTIVE HEADREST - ACTIVE HEADREST DEPLOYED WHILE VEHICLE WAS SITTING IN DRIVEWAY. PLASTIC COMPONENTS BROKEN WHICH HOLD ACTIVE HEADREST
I WAS TRAVELING AT A 60MPH SPEED ON A HIGHWAY WHEN I NOTICED THAT MY OIL TEMP LIGHT CAME ON AND READ 285 DEGREES IN MY OPTIONS LIST YET THE STATIONARY OIL TEMP READ IN THE MIDDLE. I PULLED OVER, LET THE ENGINE COOL, CHECKED THE OIL AND COOLANT (ALL FINE). AFTER 45 MINUTES, IT COOLED TO ABOUT 130 DEGREES, SO I CONTINUED ON. I DROVE ABOUT A MILE WHEN IT HEATED BACK UP AGAIN, THE JEEP JERKED, SMOKE STARTED TO COME OUT OF THE ENGINE, AND IT TURNED OFF. I LUCKILY WAS ABLE TO TURN INTO A PARKING LOT BEFORE IT DIED. SINCE I WAS OUT OF STATE TRAVELING AND IT WAS LATE IN THE EVENING, I NEEDED TO FIND A PLACE TO STAY IF MY JEEP WOULD START (IT DID). I FOUND A HOTEL 3 MILES AWAY FROM MY LOCATION. THE ENGINE HAD COOLED, I HAD OPENED THE HOOD AND SAW NO DAMAGE. I DROVE 35MPH FOR THE 3 MILES AS I WATCHED THE OIL TEMP CLIMB. I MADE IT TO THE HOTEL, WAS PARKING WHEN THE CABIN FILLED WITH SMOKE. I OPENED THE WINDOWS, SHUT OFF THE JEEP AND GOT OUT. I DID SEE FLAMES COME OUT OF THE HOOD AND SOMETHING ON FIRE FELL FROM UNDER THE ENGINE AREA. I CALLED 911. SOMETHING IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT ACTUALLY PUT THE FIRE OUT BEFORE THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED. THEY STILL PROCEEDED TO DOUSE THE ENGINE AND DISCONNECT THE BATTERY. I THEN FOUND OUT THERE WAS A RECALL (W79) ON THE 2015 ECODIESEL JEEP GRAND CHEROKEES FOR THE (ERG) EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION COOLERS THAT ARE SUSCEPTIBLE TO THERMAL FATIGUE. THIS CAN CAUSE THE COOLER TO CRACK, ALLOW PREHEATED, VAPORIZED COOLANT TO INTERACT WITH OTHER HYDROCARBONS AND AIR IN THE SYSTEM THAT MAY LEAD TO A VEHICLE FIRE. THIS RECALL WAS NOT SCHEDULED TO OFFICIALLY BE RELEASED UNTIL DECEMBER 31, 2020. 20 DAYS AFTER MY JEEP FIRE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAD EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE DEALER MULLAHEY CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (740 BUENA FORTUNA CIRCLE, ATASCADERO, CA 93422) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT PARTS WERE NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE SERVICE SHIFTER WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED AND DETERMINED THAT THE THERMAL FRACTURE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 56,700.
HEAD RESTRAINT DEPLOYED WITHOUT A REAR END COLLISION OR ANY OTHER MOVING EVENT MY WIFE WAS SIMPLY LOADING THE DOG INTO THE CAR AS IT WAS SITTING IN PARKING LOT AT VET OFFICE.
I HAVE A DIESEL ENGINE WHICH HAS A VERY OBVIOUS LAG IN GETTING POWER TO THE TRANSMISSION. THIS IS GETTING WORSE AND AFFECTS MY ABILITY TO ENTER IN TO TRAFFIC SAFELY.EVEN IF I HAVE ALLOWED FOR SAFE DISTANCE TO MERGE INTO A LANE I NEVER KNOW IF MY CAR WILL SPEED UP QUICKLY ENOUGH SO AS TO NOT GET HIT

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT COOLANT HAD TO BE ADDED EVERY OTHER WEEK. THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
W79 DIESEL EGR COOLER RECALL FROM NOVEMBER 2020. (FIRE HAZARD) I AM ON A WAITING LIST TO REMEDY THIS HAZARD!!!! NO PARTS ARE BEING PRODUCED FOR THIS RECALL? WHAT GOOD IS A SAFETY RECALL WITHOUT URGENT RESPONSE WITH PARTS NEEDED.
I THOUGHT SOMEHOW I BROKE MY HEADREST AND DIDN'T REALIZE. BUT WHEN I WENT TO LOOK IT UP AND TO MY SURPRISE I SEE HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE WITH HE SAME EXACT ISSUE. CAR WAS NOT MOVING AND WAS PARKED BEHIND MY BUSINESS, CAME BACK TO THE HEADREST DEPLOYED. SURPRISED JEEP HASN'T RECALLED THIS YET SEEMS LIKE A MAJOR ISSUE, CAN'T EVEN IMAGINE IF SOMEONE WAS SITTING AND IT EXPLODED.
SHORTLY AFTER I TURNED RIGHT, WHILE LEAVING A PARKING LOT AT LOW SPEED, OUT OF THE BLUE I WAS FORCEFULLY HIT IN THE BACK OF MY HEAD. I PULLED OVER IN CONFUSION TO ASSESS WHAT HAD HAPPENED. THERE WERE NO FLYING OBJECTS IN THE CAR, NOR OTHER CARS BEHIND ME, AS I BRIEFLY WONDERED IF I HAD BEEN REAR-ENDED. UPON LEAVING MY VEHICLE, I IMMEDIATELY SAW THAT THE HEADREST WAS SPLIT OPEN, AND WAS THE CAUSE OF THE HARD SMACK ON THE HEAD.
THE LEATHER ON THE DASHBOARD IS BUBBLING. THERE IS SOME SORT OF GLUE ISSUE ON THE VEHICLE.
I AM HAVING CONSTANT VALVE TAPPING IN MY ENGINE. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF ITS COLD OR WARM, IT TAPS CONTINUOUSLY. I HAVE 114,000 MILES ON MY VEHICLE, BUT HAVE KEPT UP ON ALL VEHICLE MAINTENANCE INCLUDING THE REQUIRED SYNTHETIC OIL CHANGES. I STILL HAVE THE ORIGINAL BRAKES ON MY JEEP, SO IT'S NOT DRIVEN HARD. I JUST DON'T THINK THERE SHOULD BE TAPPING WITH A VEHICLE WITH THIS AMOUNT OF MILEAGE.
THE DRIVER'S SIDE HEADREST POPPED OPEN FOR NO REASON. THERE HAD BEEN NO COLLISION. ON INSPECTION OF THE RELEASE MECHANISM IT'S APPARENT THAT THE PLASTIC PIECE, RETAINING A PIN, BROKE AND CAUSED THE HEADREST TO RELEASE AND POP FORWARD. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY (PARKED IN PARKING LOT) WHEN THIS HAPPENED. HAD SOMEONE BEEN DRIVING THIS WOULD HAVE CAUSED AN INJURY.
WITHIN THE SAME MONTH PERIOD OF TIME BOTH PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELTS ARE NOW COMPLETELY FAILING TO RETRACT. EARLIER THIS YEAR THEY STARTED RETRACTING MORE SLOWLY BUT NOW WILL NOT RETRACT AT ALL MAKING THE SEAT BELTS ESSENTIALLY USELESS. I'VE TAKEN THIS VEHICLE TO THE LOCAL DEALER WHO REPORTS THE RETRACTION ASSEMBLY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED ON BOTH SIDES. THE VEHICLE IS GOING ON 6 YEARS OLD WITH LIMITED USE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE DEALER QUOTED ME $1200 TO REPLACE BOTH SIDES. THIS IS A VERY EXPENSIVE REPAIR TO BE DOING EVERY 5-6 YEARS. SAFETY EQUIPMENT SHOULD BE MORE RELIABLE AND DURABLE THAN 6 YEARS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 55 AND 60 MPH, THE GEAR SHIFTER INDEPENDENTLY SHIFTED OUT OF GEAR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE ALMOST GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE THE VEHICLE ALMOST COMPLETELY STOP. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE COASTED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD SHIFTED GEAR BACK INTO DRIVE AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DOUG HENRY CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (4051 W VERNON AVE, KINSTON, NC 28504) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE GEAR ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET REPAIRED DUE TO THE REPAIR PART NOT BEING ORDERED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 79,000.
MY JEEP WAS PARKED ON A LEVEL AREA WHILE IT WAS RAINING AND WHEN I OPENED MY TRUNK I NOTICED WATER LEAKING INTO THE TRUNK AREA FROM THE CEILING FLOWING RATHER QUICKLY. IT APPEARS TO BE COMING FROM THE AREA WHERE THE PASSENGER REAR QUARTER PANEL AND THE ROOF MEET. IT NEVER LEAKED BEFORE AND NOTHING HAS HAPPENED (NO ACCIDENTS ETC) TO COMPROMISE THE JEEP. NOT SURE IF ONE OF THE SEALS IS STARTING TO FAIL.
I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH. I WAS IN A LINE OF TRAFFIC AND WE WERE NEARING A STOP SIGN WHEN I HEARD A VERY LOUD NOISE AND FELT SOMETHING HIT THE BACK OF MY HEAD, THRUSTING MY HEAD FORWARD. I INITIALLY THOUGHT I HAD BEEN REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE, BUT THEN I DISCOVERED THAT MY HEADREST HAD SPONTANEOUSLY DEPLOYED. THE HEADREST IS UNABLE TO BE RESET BECAUSE THE PLASTIC PIECES THAT KEEP IT TOGETHER ARE BROKEN, WHICH APPEARS TO BE WHY IT SPONTANEOUSLY DEPLOYED.
THE HEADREST POPPED OUT WHILE THE CAR WAS PARKED IN OUR DRIVEWAY. THE PLASTIC IN THE HEADREST APPEARS TO BE BROKEN.
WHILE SITTING COMPLETELY STILL AT A RED LIGHT ON A CITY STREET, MY JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE HEADREST POPPED. MY HEAD WAS PUSHED FORWARD AND A LOUD POPPING SOUND OCCURRED. I PULLED OVER TO ASSESS WHAT EXACTLY HAPPENED AND NOTED THAT THE HEADREST HAD SPRUNG UPWARDS AND FORWARD. FURTHER VISUAL ASSESSMENT REVEALED THAT TWO PLASTIC PIECES APPEARED TO HAVE EXPLODED FOR NO REASON.
THE SEAT REST POPPED OPENED AND IT CANNOT BE PUSHED BACKED TOGETHER. I WAS PARKED AT THE TIME WHEN THE INCIDENT OCCURRED. BOTH SEAT BELT LOCKS DO NOT OPEN PROPERLY WITHOUT PUSHING DOWN THE BUCKLE INTO THE LOCK WHILE PRESSING ON THE RELEASE BUTTON AT THE SAME TIME. THIS HAS BEEN ONGOING FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS.

TEARDOWN CYL HEADS FOR INSPECTION
LEATHER DASH HAS MASSIVE WRINKLES THAT POPPED UP VERY FAST AND SEEMINGLY OUT OF NOWHERE. VEHICLE HAS ONLY 39,000 MILES AND HAS BEEN WELL KEPT. AGAIN THE WRINKLES CAME FROM NOWHERE AND WORSENED WITHIN ONLY A COUPLE OF DAYS.
DRIVER SIDE ACTIVE HEADREST RESTRAINT DEPLOYED WHILE PARKED. NO ACCIDENT OCCURRED. MATERIAL FAILURE CAUSED THE DEPLOYMENT, THE HEADREST IS NOW BROKEN AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.
LAST YEAR (2019), I REPORTED THAT MY DRIVERS SIDE HEADREST RESTRAINT SYSTEM IN MY 2015 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE DEPLOYED DUE TO DEFECTIVE PARTS. IN OCTOBER 2020, 12 MONTHS LATER AND AN ADDITIONAL 12,000 MILES MY PASSENGERS SIDE HEADREST RESTRAINT SYSTEM ALSO DEPLOYED. NO INJURIES AND NO NONE WAS IN THE VEHICLE WHEN THEY DEPLOYED. FCA WILL NOT COVER ANY REPAIRS. THE JEEP HAS 72,000 MILES. FCA NEEDS TO RECALL THESE HEADRESTS.

WENT OUT TO DRIVEWAY TO GET IN CAR AND HEADREST ON DRIVERS SEAT WAS SPLIT OPEN, EXPOSING ALL INSIDES AND WILL NOT GO BACK TOGETHER.
THE FIREWALL INSIDE ENGINE COMPARTMENT HAS HEAT DAMAGE FROM EXCESSIVE HEAT COMING FROM ENGINE AREA NEAR TURBO. IT APPEARS THERE MAY HAVE BEEN FIRE. POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD. DEALER WANTS TO CHARGE ME TO DIAGNOSE AND ENGINE IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. I CALLED FCA CUSTOMER CARE AND THEY SAID THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO ABOUT DEALER CHARGE NEVER THOUGHT IT IS WARRANTY ITEM.*DT THE CONSUMER PROVIDED PHOTOS. *TR
YES I AM DRIVING AN THE SERVICE SHIFTER COMES ON. IT HAS COME ON MULTIPLE TIME AND EVEN CHANGED THE GEAR I WAS IN WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON ITS OWN.
EVAPORATOR CORE BEHIND THE DASH HAS DEVELOPED A LEAK AFTER 65,000 MILES, WITHOUT ANY OFF ROAD USE OR BEING INVOLVED IN ANY CRASHES. PAID $50,000. FOR THIS VEHICLE AND EXPECTED IT TO LAST LONGER, ESPECIALLY WITHOUT A $3000 REPAIR THAT IS A NOT A RESULT OF WEAR AND TEAR.

THE SHIFTER BEGAN JUMPING OUT OF GEAR ABOUT OCTOBER, 2020...WHEN I WOULD PUT IN PARK GETTING OUT IT HAD MOVED BACK TO DRIVE AND I HAD TO QUICKLY GET BACK IN AND PUT BACK IN PARK. THERE HAD BEEN AN EARLIER RE CALL, TOOK TO DEALER SHIP AND THEY SUPPOSEDLY FIXED WHATEVER PROBLEM WAS. AT TIME OF RECALL I DID NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS. AS TIME WORE ON I BEGAN TO HAVE SHIFTER PROBLEMS. THE LIGHT ON SHIFTER BEGAN TO GO OFF AND ON AND IT GETTING OUT OF SHIFT BECAME MORE FREQUENT ...TOOK TO DEALERSHIP IN SOUTHAVEN MS...SERVICE MGR SAID THERE HAD NO COMPLAINTS...MY RESEARCH SHOWED DIFFERENT...HE SAID THEY WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE PLACE BUT BACK ORDER...THIS WAS IN NOVEMBER. IT IS NOW JANUARY, 21 AND I AM STILL DRIVING AND THE SHIFTER IS STILL ON BACK ORDER, ACCORDING TO LANDERS JEEP THEY KNOW WHEN THEY WILL BE ABLE TO REPLACE WITH CORP SAYING THAT 357 SHIFTERS SO FAR ARE ON BACK ORDER...THAT IS ALL THAT THEY WOULD DO....THIS SITUATION IS NOT ONLY DANGEROUS BUT SCARY...CHRYSLER CONTINUES TO SHOVE UNDER THE RUG ISSUES WITH THE SHIFTER AND DOESN'T SEEM TO CARE ABOUT CUSTOMERS WHO NEED MORE THAN JUST LIES AND BLANK STARES.

I HAD THE SAME ISSUE HAPPEN WITH THE PASSENGER HEAD REST A LITTLE OVER A YEAR AGO WHEN IT POPPED WITHOUT ANYONE SITTING IN THE SEAT.
WAS TRAVELING DOWN THE HIGHWAY WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE PASSENGER HEADREST DEPLOYED. THERE WAS NO CONTACT FROM ANOTHER VEHICLE. I DIDNT HIT ANY POT HOLES OR BUMPS THAT MAY HAVE TRIGGERED THIS TO HAPPEN. JUST HAPPENED OUT OF NOWHERE. VERY LOAD WHEN IT HAPPENED
TOOK MY JEEP IN FOR A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE AND WAS TOLD THAT BOTH ENDS OF THE STEERING BOX ARE LEAKING WILL NEED REPAIR AT A COST OF NEARLY $2400.00. IN RESEARCHING THIS PROBLEM I DISCOVERED HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ACROSS THE COUNTRY FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM AS WELL AS A RECALL OF JEEP PRODUCTS IN 2011-2012 FOR THE SAME PROBLEMS THAT RESULTED IN INJURIES TO DRIVERS AND FIRES IN VEHICLES. THIS IS A WELL KNOWN PROBLEM WITH PREVIOUS PRECEDENT FROM PRIOR MODEL YEARS THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED THROUGH A RECALL PROCESS BEFORE SOME GETS INJURED OR KILLED OR A VEHICLE CATCHES FIRE. THE SERVICE ADVISOR EVEN ADMITTED THAT THEY SEE A LOT OF THESE ISSUES WITH THE JEEP PRODUCT.
MY PASSENGER SIDE ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINT SUDDENLY DEPLOYED, WITHOUT WARNING, FROM MY HEADREST WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN ON A STRAIGHT RESIDENTIAL STREET AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INVOLVED IN ANY TYPE OF FRONT OR REAR COLLISION AND HAD NOT ENCOUNTERED ANY BROKEN PAVEMENT, BUMPS, OR POTHOLES WHEN THE DEPLOYMENT OCCURRED. NO ONE WAS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT WHEN THE HEADREST DEPLOYED, BUT THE NOISE AND FORCE OF THE DEPLOYMENT WAS STARTLING. I'M OBVIOUSLY VERY CONCERNED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE HEADREST MAY ALSO DEPLOY AT ANY TIME WHILE DRIVING, POSSIBLY CAUSING AN ACCIDENT OR INJURY.
