WHILE DRIVING APPROACHING A STOP MY DRIVER SIDE HEADREST AIR BAG DEPLOYED STRIKING ME IN THE HEAD AND ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT WITH THE STOPPED VEHICLE INFONT OF ME. UPON RESUMING DRIVING NO AIRBAG INDICATOR LIGHT WAS PRESENT. WHEN I ARRIVED AT MY HOME I NOTICED THE RETAINER DID NOT RELEASE RATHER THE PLASTIC AROUND THE RETAINER PIN FAILED CAUSING DEPLOYMENT. I SEE THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH MANY AND FEAR THE PASSENGERS SIDE WILL FAIL NEXT.
HEADREST DEPLOYED WITHOUT ANY ACCIDENT WHILE VEHICLE IS PARKED.
MY 2015 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE DRIVER SIDE HEADREST CLIPS BROKE ON THEIR OWN
THE HEAD REST ON THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT POPPED OUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING AT ABOUT 25 MILES PER HOUR. NO ACCIDENT WAS INVOLVED.
WHILE DRIVING, PASSENGER HEADREST DEPLOYED. PLASTIC BRACKETS INSIDE HEADREST WHICH KEEPS ACTIVE HEADREST CLOSED, HAS BROKEN. HEADREST NO LONGER USABLE.
SERVICE SHIFTER KEEPS APPEARING, MAJOR WORLD SERVICED AND REPLACED THE SHIFTER BUT TO NO AVAIL, IT CONTINUES TO STATE SERVICE SHIFTER.
SEPTEMBER 14,2020 MONDAY SEPTEMBER 14, 2020 . LEFT WORK AT 8:10 AM. WAS DRIVING HOME ON N CHEROKEE AVE . GOT TO STOP LIGHT O ROSS CLARK CR. TURNED RIGHT AT LIGHT. ACCELERATED . TO SPEED WENT THROUGH LIGHT AT DENTON ROAD . JUST PAST TECHWAY AUTOMOTIVE AND BEFORE LIFE SOUTH COMMUNITY BLOOD BANK. BAM I THOUGHT I HAD BEEN HIT FROM BEHIND , MY HEAD WENT FORWARD. FELT LIKE SOMEONE PUNCHED THE BACK OF MY HEAD REST. IT PUSHED ME TO STEERING WHEEL . THIS WAS IN TRAGIC AT 8:30 IN MORNING. I WAS WITH IN 1 MILE OF DOTHAN JEEP CHRYSLER DODGE. THEY SAID THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY RECALLS ON IT. BUT THEY DID SAY IT WAS AN AIR BAG. COULD NOT TELL ME HOW THIS CAN JUST HAPPEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD.
(STATIONARY) WAITING WHILE THE TRANSMISSION WAS IN PARK POSITION, THE PASSENGER HEADREST POP OUT FORWARD AND SEPARATED FROM THE HEADREST TRIM (BACK OF HEADREST ) VEHICLE WAS NOT MOVING AND THERE WAS 'NO' COLLISIONS TO ANY PART OF THE VEHICLE. IT JUST POPPED OUT WITHOUT ANY REASON. IF MY WIFE WAS IN THAT SEAT AT THE TIME OF THIS INCIDENT SHE MIGHT HAD BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED DUE TO A PREVIOUS BROKEN NECK.
THE PASSENGER ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINT DEPLOYED UNEXPECTEDLY AND JOLTED MY WIFE'S HEAD HURTING HER NECK WHICH IS STIFF AND SORE. THE CAR WAS PARKED ON CITY STREET AND MY WIFE JUST STEPPED IN AND SAT DOWN WHEN THE HEAD RESTRAINT DEPLOYED. THE TWO HOOKS INSIDE THE HEAD RESTRAINT APPEAR TO BE DEFECTIVE. ONE HOOK BROKE COMPLETELY OFF, AND THE OTHER IS CRACKED AND BARELY ATTACHED TO THE HEAD RESTRAINT.*DT*JB
I GOT A SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT. WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THEY SAID IT WAS PURGE VALVE ON THE EVAPORATOR SYSTEM. I ENCOUNTER THE SAME PROBLEM ON MY 2014 DODGE DURANGO AT THE SAME MILEAGE. I THINK CHRYSLER HAS A SYSTEMIC PROBLEM WITH THIS PART OF THEIR EMISSION SYSTEM.
HEADREST DEPLOYED UNEXPECTEDLY
MY WIFE AND I WERE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD IN A NEIGHBORHOOD AND HER BODY JUST SHOT FORWARD LIKE SOMEBODY SHOVED HER FROM BEHIND. THE HEADREST SHOT OUT OF PLACE AND HIT HER IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD FORCING HER FORWARD. SHE HAD SOME NECK PAIN FOR A LITTLE BIT BUT NOTHING SERIOUS. THANKFULLY IT WAS THE PASSENGER SEAT AND NOT THE DRIVER SEAT. I COULDN'T EVEN IMAGINE IF ONE OF US WERE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND HAVING THIS HAPPEN TO THE DRIVER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS IN NEUTRAL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE PARKED ON SIDE OF THE ROAD AND WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT INTO ANY GEARS OTHER THAN NEUTRAL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 83,000.
LAST FIVE TO SIX WEEKS THE LIGHTS ON THE PASSENGER RIGHT SIDE BACK AND FRONT GOES COMPLETELY OUT BACK AND FRONT THEN COME BACK ON TWO HOURS LATER I HAVE A APPOINTMENT AT THE DEALERSHIP TO SEE WHAT'S GOING ON
DRIVER'S SIDE AIRBAG LOCATED IN HEADREST DEPLOYED WHEN STARTING VEHICLE. CAR WAS IN PARK AND WAS NOT INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT.

WE JUST GOT IN THE CAR AND MY WIFE SUT THE DOOR AND THE HEAD REST EXPLODED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE

MILLER CASA CHRYSLER JEEP (9733 COORS BLVD NW, ALBUQUERQUE, NM 87114; (505) 633-2050) WAS CONTACTED AND IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE NEARLY STALLED WHILE DRIVING AT RANDOM SPEEDS. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, WITH HER CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE STOPPED COMMUNICATING WITH THE ENGINE AND NO RPM. THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND. THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE INSTRUMENT PANEL REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS SHUTOFF AND RESTARTED AFTER TWO ATTEMPTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE EMPIRE CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM OF WEST ISLIP LOCATED AT 555 SUNRISE HWY, WEST ISLIP, NY 11795, WHERE A DIAGNOSTIC TEST, AND A ROAD TEST WERE PERFORMED HOWEVER, THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE FELT UNSAFE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 60,000.
THE PASSENGER HEADREST DEPLOYED ON ITS OWN WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION AS I APPROACH THE STOP LIGHT. LUCKILY MY SON DID NOT SUFFER ANY INJURIES. IF IT HAD BEEN IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT, IT WOULD OF CAUSED A MAJOR ACCIDENT.
WHILE IN MOTION IN HIGHWAY SPEEDS MY JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE 2015 BEGAN TO STALL AND SUDDENLY TURNED OFF . THE TRUCK WOULD NOT ACCLERATE ONCE I TURNED IT ON AND I COULDN'T CHANGE GEARS. AS THIS OCCURED I BEGAN TO LOSE CONTROL AND NEARLY CRASHED INTO TRAFFIC. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST INCIDENT AS THIS HAS OCCURED SEVERAAL TIMES EACH RESULTING IN NEAR FATAL COLLISIONS. I HAVE REACHED OUT SEVERAL TIME TO THE JEEP DEALERS WHO HAVE ALREADY FIXED THE SO CALLED PROBLEM 3 TIMES AND KEEP TELLING ME THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE TRUCK.
DRIVING HOME FROM WORK ENGINE LOST POWER SMOKED A LITTLE THEN BURST INTO FLAMES ON A CITY STREET 3:45PM.*DT*DT*JB*JB
PASSENGER HEADREST BURST OPEN IN VEHICLE UNEXPECTEDLY WHILE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION.
THE ACTIVE HEADREST DEPLOYED WHILE THE CAR WAS STATIONARY AND NOT INVOLVED IN A COLLISION. THE PLASTIC PART HOLDING THE ACTIVE HEADREST IN ITS NORMAL POSITION FAILED, RESULTING IN A PREMATURE UNPROVOKED DEPLOYMENT. IF I HAD BEEN IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT AT THE TIME I WOULD HAVE BEN HIT IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD. THE IMPACT OF THE HEADREST ON THE BACK OF MY HEAD COULD LEAD TO MOMENTARY LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL AND AN ACCIDENT.
THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADREST DEPLOYED. THE CAR WAS SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY. NO ONE WAS HURT. IT APPEARS THAT THE PLASTIC PIECES CLAMPED ON TO THE METAL BAR THAT WAS HOLDING THE HEADREST CLOSED BROKE, CAUSING THE HEADREST TO OPEN. I NOTIFIED JEEP CUSTOMER CARE AND THEY TOLD ME SOMEONE WOULD CALL ME CONCERNING MY CASE AND I HAVE NOT RECEIVED THAT CALL AT THIS TIME.
THIS VEHICLE IS UNDRIVEABLE AND IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALERSHIP. THEY'VE INFORMED US THAT THE PROBLEM IS RELATED TO A RECALL W58, HOWEVER THERE IS CURRENTLY NO FIX AVAILABLE. HOW DO WE PROCEED WHEN THE JEEP/CHRYSLER IS UNWILLING OR UNABLE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM?
RECALL# W58 THERE IS CURRENTLY NO FIX FOR THIS. OUR CAR STOPPED, WILL NOT START AND HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALER WHICH IS WHERE WE FOUND OUT ABOUT THE RECALL. EVEN IF THERE'S NO FIX, SHOULDN'T WE THE CONSUMER BEEN NOTIFIED OF A RECALL THAT POSES A POTENTIAL SAFETY ISSUE? I HAVE NO VEHICLE, WITH NO FIX AND THE CHRYSLER REFUSES TO PROVIDE A LOANER VEHICLE. OUR CONTACTS WITH CHRYSLER HAVE YIELDED NOTHING BUT A PROMISE FOR A CASE MANAGER TO CALL. NOTHING. NO VEHICLE, NO FIX, NO LOANER.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE IDLE IN THE DRIVEWAY, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY BEGAN TO DRIFT BACKWARDS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL AND STOP THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER (ANTIOCH CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM ADDRESS: 105 IL-173, ANTIOCH, IL 60002 PHONE: (847) 395-0200) WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE'S SHIFTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AS OF YET. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE SHIFTER WAS REPLACED UNDER A RECALL COVERED BY A TWO YEAR WARRANTY IN THE PAST. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46,000.
VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, IN PARK, IN A PARKING LOT, AND NO COLLISION OCCURRED. DRIVER, FRONT PASSENGER, AND TWO REAR SEAT PASSENGERS WERE IN THE VEHICLE. FRONT PASSENGER HEADREST DEPLOYED WITHOUT WARNING STRIKING FRONT PASSENGER IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD. VEHICLE MILEAGE APPROXIMATELY 50,000 MILES. THERE ARE NUMEROUS ONLINE ACCOUNTS OF THE ACTIVE HEADREST DEPLOYING WITHOUT A VEHICLE COLLISION DUE TO LESS THAN ADEQUATE RELIABILITY OF PARTS WITHIN THE ACTIVE HEADREST ASSEMBLY. I AM REQUESTING REPLACEMENT THROUGH LOCAL DEALERSHIP; INITIAL FEEDBACK IS THE PART IS NOT COVERED AND I HAVE TO PAY TO REPLACE IT. EVEN WITH A REPLACEMENT-IN-KIND ACTIVE HEADREST, THE EXPECTED RELIABILITY IS SUSPECT. THE OEM DESIGN SHOULD BE REVISITED TO ENSURE SAFE AND RELIABLE OPERATIONS.
UPON ENTERING THE VEHICLE, I FOUND ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINT (AHR) ON THE PASSENGER SIDE IN A DEPLOYED POSITION. VISUAL INSPECTION SHOWED THAT PLASTIC ENCASING SAFETY PIN HAS CRACKED AND ALLOWED THE PIN TO SEPARATE, WITH METAL HOOKS ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE RETAINING THE PIN. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN A CARPORT OVERNIGHT, AND THE FACT THAT THE HOOKS HAVE NOT RELEASED THE PIN INDICATED THAT THE DEPLOYMENT WAS NOT TRIGGERED BY A COLLISION, AS IT WAS DESIGNED TO DO. I AM UNCERTAIN THAT A BLOW TO THE BACK OF THE HEAD WOULD CAUSE A NECK INJURY AS ALLEGED BY SOME WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM WHILE SEATED. HOWEVER, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A SURPRISE AND A MAJOR DISTRACTION; AND AS SUCH, COULD INDEED CAUSE A TRAFFIC ACCIDENT. I BELIEVE THAT THESE HEADRESTS MUST BE RECALLED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, AS THE DESIGN IS DEFECTIVE, WITH PLASTIC DEGRADING FURTHER OVER TIME, AND CAUSING MORE OF THESE ACCIDENTAL DEPLOYMENTS TO OCCUR. I ALSO NOTICED, THAT MANY VEHICLE OWNERS HAVE CATEGORIZED THIS AS AN AIRBAG PROBLEM. WHILE THE AHR IS CONSIDERED TO BE A PART OF JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE'S PASSIVE RESTRAINT SYSTEM, THERE ARE NO ACTUAL AIRBAGS INSIDE OR ANY OTHER EXPLOSIVE MATERIAL INSIDE THE AHR, ONLY CHEAP PLASTIC RETAINING A SAFETY PIN UNDER 75 LBS OF TENSION.
I had just started driving down the road from work when I felt a jolt in the middle of the drivers seat and a bang. So pulled into a parking lot and stopped to see what happened. I was looking around not sure what was going on with my car when I noticed the headrest on the drivers seat had popped open
A WARNING FLASHED TEMPORARILY ON THE DASHBOARD WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON A NORMAL PAVED ROAD INDICATING A SUSPENSION PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. WHEN I PARKED THE VEHICLE, I NOTICED THE AIR RIDE SUSPENSION WAS COMPLETELY INFLATED ON THE VEHICLE WHICH MADE IT APPEAR LIFTED HIGH ABOVE THE TIRES. THIS HAD NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE. NOTHING PRIOR TO THIS POINT MADE ME THINK THERE WAS A PENDING PROBLEM WITH THE SUSPENSION.. I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO A LEGITIMATE JEEP DEALERSHIP TRUSTING IN THEIR TRAINED TECHNICIANS. THEY HAD THE VEHICLE FOR 21 DAYS, EACH DAY TELLING ME THEY DID NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT WAS WRONG. THE DEALERSHIP EVEN HAD TO CONSULT WITH CORPORATE ENGINEERS TO ULTIMATELY FIX THE PROBLEM. THE COST TO ME WAS $1525.00

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
I WAS SLOWING DOWN FOR A STOP SIGN, WHEN I HEARD A POP AND THEN FELT MY DRIVER SIDE HEADREST HIT ME IN THE HEAD. AFTER I STOPPED I SAW THAT IT HAD BEEN DEPLOYED WITH THE CLIPS BEING BROKEN.
UPON ENTERING THE CITY STREET A LOUD BANG WAS HEARD FROM THE HOOD OF THE VEHICLE AND CAR STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. POWER WAS IN THE VEHICLE BUT ABILITY TO SHIFT IN GEAR WAS GONE. AFTER TURNING OFF AND BACK ON I WAS ABLE TO PUT THE JEEP IN DRIVE IN ORDER TO CLEAR THE ROAD AS TO AVOID A TRAFFIC BUILD UP. IT SEEMS THE TRANSMISSION IS GONE BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WILL NOT CHANGE INTO GEAR NOR REVERSE. A WRECKER COMPANY WAS CONTACTED TO BRING JEEP TO DEALER.
I HAVE BEEN ALERTED TO TWO (2) SAFETY RECALLS WHICH MAY LEAD TO BODILY HARM OR EVEN DEATH. THE MANUFACTURER STATES THAT "THE REMEDY FOR THIS CONDITION IS NOT YET AVAILABLE". SO, EACH TIME I USE THIS VEHICLE, I AM EXPOSING MYSELF AND ANY PASSENGERS TO POTENTIALLY GRAVE DANGER. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. THE MANUFACTURER MUST BE GIVEN A FINITE TIME PERIOD TO EITHER REMEDY THE PROBLEM OR REPURCHASE THE VEHICLE, FROM THE LEGAL OWNER. WE HAD JUST LEFT HOME ON A FAMILY TRIP, TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE PASSENGER HEADREST VIOLENTLY SPRANG OPEN, STRIKING MYSELF IN THE HEAD. WE WERE A LIE TO GET THE VEHICLE STOPED, LOOKED THE WHOLE VEHICLE OVER TO MAKE SURE NOTHING COULD HAVE CAUSE THE HEADREST TO RELEASE LIKE THAT. THE HEADREST PLASTIC THAT LOCKS INTO THE SAFETY RELEASE HAD BROKEN DUE TO DETERIORATION OF THE PLASTIC. LUCKILY IT WASN'T THE DRIVER SIDE BECAUSE IT POSSIBLY COULD HAVE CAUSED A WREAK/LOSS OF LIFE. STILL WAITING ON MANUFACTURE TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE.
MY CARS DRIVER SIDE HEADREST DEPLOYED WHEN I STARTED THE CAR IN MY DRIVEWAY IN PARK.
LEATHER INSTRUMENT PANEL (IP) COVER DELAMINATING- MY WHOLE LEATHER DASHBOARD IS BUBBLING UP AND COMING OFF. JEEP SAID THEY WONT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT BECAUSE THE X81 RECALL WAS ONLY FOR CARS 2011-2014. MY CAR IS 2015 SUMMIT WITH THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM.
WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE ON AN ACTIVE CITY STREET ROADWAY, THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADREST ON THE FRONT SEAT DEPLOYED. MY HUSBAND WAS IN THE SEAT AT THE TIME AND CAUSED HIM TO JOLT FORWARD CAUSING A SLIGHT NECK PAIN. THE UNEXPECTED POP OF THE HEADREST DEPLOYING CAUSED ME, THE DRIVER, TO SWERVE DURING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC.
ACTIVE HEADREST DEPLOYED SPONTANEOUSLY
THE HEADREST OF THE FRONT PASSENGER UNEXPECTEDLY BURST OPEN WITHOUT ANY CRASH WHILE DRIVING.*DT PASSENGER DID NOT RECEIVE ANY INJURIES. HEADREST HAS NOT BEEN REPLACED.*JB
WHILE I WAS DRIVING AT A RATE OF 25 MPH ON A RESIDENTIAL ROAD MY DRIVER SIDE AHR BRACKET HAD BROKEN AND DEPLOYED THE HEADREST SAFETY SYSTEM IN TO THE REAR OF MY HEAD CAUSING ME TO MOMENTARILY SWERVE INTO THE INCOMING TRAFFIC LANE. THANKFULLY THERE WERE NO VEHICLES. IT WAS A VERY DISTURBING INCIDENT AND I AM EXPERIENCING MINOR NECK PAIN AND THE VEHICLE IS UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN IN THIS POSITION.
PASSENGER ACTIVE HEADREST DEPLOYED WHILE VEHICLE PARKED, WILL NOT RESET. THESE VEHICLES HAVE AN ACTIVE HEADREST SYSTEM THAT IS DESIGNED TO DEPLOY FORWARD IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH BUT THE PLASTIC HOUSING THAT KEEPS IT IN PLACE HAS CRUMBLED AND MADE THE HEADREST LEAP FORWARD IN THE DEPLOYED STATE AND WILL NOT GO BACK INTO POSITION AND HOLD.
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE PASSENGER HEADREST JUST POPPED OFF WITH NO REAR END COLLISION. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL AS THIS HAS MANY PEOPLE WITH THE SAME ISSUE.
THE DRIVER'S SIDE HEAD REST EXPLODED OPEN WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE STREET AFTER MAKING A RIGHT TURN. GAVE ME SEVERE NECK PAIN. I FIRST THOUGHT SOMEONE REAR ENDED ME CAUSE THE NOISE WAS SO LOUD. SO I PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT AND FOUND NO ONE HIT ME LOOKS LIKE THE HEADREST MALFUNCTIONED AND EXPLODED OPEN.
DRIVERS HEADREST DEPLOYED (POPPED) WHILE STATIONARY IN A PARKING LOT. NO OTHER VEHICLES INVOLVED, THE CAR WAS NOT STRUCK. DEALER STATES NOT UNDER WARRANTY
ACTIVE HEAD RESTRAINT DEPLOYED WITHOUT A CRASH OR REAR IMPACT. IT DEPLOYED WHILE DRIVING 65MPH ON THE HIGHWAY.
THE HEADREST ON MY JEEP POPPED FORWARD SUDDENLY AND UNEXPECTEDLY WHILE PARKED. THIS APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY A FAILURE OF THE PLASTIC PARTS OF THE WHIPLASH MITIGATION SYSTEM BUILT INTO THE SEAT. WHILE THE SEAT WAS UNOCCUPIED AT THE TIME I FEEL THIS WOULD HAVE CAUSED INJURY HAD SOMEONE BEEN IN THE SEAT.
AFTER A STOP AT A STOP SIGN OR RED LIGHT, WHEN TURNING INTO TRAFFIC (RIGHT OR LEFT), I BEGIN TO LOSE ALL ACCELERATION AND MY CAR GOES DEAD! I HAVE TO TRY VERY HARD TO STEER MY CAR OFF ROAD IF I CAN AND THEN PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND START MY CAR UP ALL OVER AGAIN! SCARES ME!!! ALMOST BEEN HIT!! THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME ABOUT 6 TIMES SINCE I PURCHASED MY CAR IN OCTOBER OF 2014! LAST TIME WAS A FEW WEEKS AGO! THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE!!! I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR IN TO BE INSPECTED BUT THEY CAN'T FIND WHAT CAUSES THE PROBLEM! I NEVER KNOW WHEN THIS MAY HAPPEN AGAIN!! I WON'T DRIVE ON EXPRESSWAYS BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM! I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR JEEPS!! THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED! PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS BEFORE SOMEONE DIES BECAUSE IF IT.
