ABS LIGHT KEEPS GOING OFF EVEN WHEN BRAKES AND ROTORS HAS BEEN REPLACED . BRAKES WILL SKIP OR MAKE A SHAKING VIBRATION ON THE PEDAL WHEN PRESS AND MAKES IT HARD TO STOP OR IMPOSSIBLE WHILE IN MOTION RATHER DRIVING IN THE CITY OR ON THE HIGHWAY.
PURCHASED 2006 JEEP LIBERTY BRAND NEW, IT IS USED ONLY SEASONALLY. GARAGE KEPT, APPROXIMATE MILEAGE IS 39,300 MILES. SAFETY RECALL ON 2006 JEEP LIBERTY FOR UPPER AND LOWER BALL JOINTS. THE VEHICLE IS DANGEROUS. WHEN TURNING, STEERING WHEEL DOES NOT COME BACK EXCEPT MANUALLY. CHRYSLER ADVISES MY VIN NUMBER IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. I HAVE SEEN THAT COMMENT SEVERAL TIMES ON THIS SITE. THIS IS NOT MY FIRST ISSUE WITH JEEP VEHICLES. WE WENT TO THE JEEP DEALER WHO STATED THERE ARE NO OPEN RECALLS, WE CONTACTED CHRYSLER WHO STATED THERE ARE NO OPEN RECALLS. THERE ARE 10 RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE, WHENEVER NOTIFIED IT WAS BROUGHT TO JEEP. THE SUSPENSION ISSUE IS A SAFETY RECALL ON 2006 JEEP LIBERTY AND CONVENIENTLY MY VIN NUMBER IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL. A GARAGE KEPT SEASONALLY USED VEHICLE PROPERLY MAINTAINED WITH 39,000 MILES HAS THIS ISSUE AND IS NOW BEING REPAIRED AT MY EXPENSE. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED. PLEASE ADVISE WHAT OTHER INFO IS NEEDED.
EVERY TIME A FILL GAS THE CAR OVERFILLS AND LOTS OF GAS SPILLS OUT. THIS IS HAPPENING AT ALL DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS AND I HAVE SEEN OTHERS ONLINE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM, MY CAR HAS ONLY 65K MILES. THIS IS FOR SURE A SAFETY ISSUE THAT MUST BE RECALLED, IT IS A HUGE FIRE HAZARD.
PARKING BRAKE BACKING PLATES HAVE COME LOOSE AND THE PARKING BRAKE SHOES ARE DRAGGING AND WEARING OUT TOO FAST
WHEN FILLING UP WITH GAS THE GAS WILL ALWAYS SPEW BACK OUT WHEN FULL. SPILLS GAS ALL OVER THE SIDE OF THE JEEP AND A GOOD AMOUNT ON THE GROUND.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A TURN, A POPPING NOISE WAS HEARD. THERE WAS NO WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AUTOLAND CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (973-298-5870, LOCATED AT 170 U S 22, SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, NJ 07081) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE UPPER AND LOWER BALL JOINTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 06V288000 (SUSPENSION) AND COULD NOT BE REPAIRED AGAIN FOR FREE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 146,000.
I BROUGHT MY CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP FOR OTHER RECALLS AND WAS TOLD THAT THE FRONT BALL JOINTS ARE VERY LOOSE AND THAT THIS IS A SAFETY RELATED ISSUE. I CHECKED THE NHTSA WEBSITE AND NOTICED THAT THE YEAR AND MAKE OF MY CAR HAD A RECALL FOR BALL JOINT ISSUES BUT MY VIN NUMBER WASN'T INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. I HAVE A 2006 JEEP LIBERTY.
I'VE TO REPLACE THE REAR TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY 4 TIMES, IT KEEPS BLOWING OUT THE BRAKE AND TAIL LIGHT. I'VE ALSO HAD TO PURCHASE 5 A/C COMPESSORS FOR THIS TRUCK AND THE ABS, TRACTION LIGHT STAYS ON.
I WAS LEAVING MY PARKING LOT WHEN I HEARD A CLUNK AND MY DRIVER SIDE OF THE JEEP LOWERED. I GOT OUT AND LOOKED AND MY TIRE WAS TILTED AT AN ANGLE. A COUPLE OF MY NEIGHBORS LOOKED UNDER THE JEEP AND SAID THAT IT WAS THE BALL JOINT AND THAT THE AXLE WAS ON THE GROUND.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE PORTION OF THE VEHICLE COLLAPSED ONTO THE TIRE AND THE LOWER BALL JOINTS FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER AND TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO WAS ABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE IMMEDIATELY. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT SHE WAS LUCKY TO BE ALIVE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL AND THE REPAIR WOULD COST APPROXIMATELY $2,600. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 122,000.
MY LIGHTS ARE TURNING ON DASH. IT GRABS REAL BAD AND ACTS LIKE IT GOING TO DIE IN TRAFFIC. DANGEROUS. MY 4 WHEEL DRIVE WILL NOT WORK.

WHILE DRIVING AT A LOW RATE OF SPEED, THE CONTACT INITIALLY BELIEVED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE WAS FLAT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 06V288000 (SUSPENSION). THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 180,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH, AN ABNORMAL NOISE WAS DETECTED. THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND THE CONTACT NOTICED METAL SHAVINGS ON THE FLOOR. THE CONTACT ALSO NOTICED THE BALL JOINT ARM FRACTURED ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE AND CAUSED A GROOVE IN THE SIDE OF THE RIM. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A FRIEND'S RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FAILURE ALSO OCCURRED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, WHICH WAS REPAIRED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 190,000.
GEAR SHIFTER INDICATES JEEP I IS IN PARK, BUT VEHICLE ROLLS AND WILL NOT START IN THIS POSITION. MUST "WIGGLE" FOUR WHEEL DRIVE SHIFTER TO GET CAR INTO NEUTRAL TO RESTART CAR. VEHICLE ROLLS UNLESS HELD IN PLACE BY EMERGENCY BRAKE.
PULLING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE AND THE FRONT BALL JOINTS HAD DISINTEGRATED CAUSING THE CONTROL ARM TO BREAK AND THE TIRE TO COLLAPSE ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE. THE LEFT PASSENGER SIDE IS ALSO DISINTEGRATING AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. WE ARE TOLD THAT OUR VIN WAS NOT COVERED IN THE RECALL BUT THE FAILURE WAS EXACTLY AS STATED IN THE F23 BULLETIN. CAR IS UNSAFE.
I THE VEHICLE SAFETY INSPECTION AND WAS TOLD THE LEFT SIDE LOWER BALL JOINT GOING BAD. THE TRANSMISSION MODULE IS TRIPPING THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOWS (FRONT AND BACK) MAKES AWFUL SOUND GOING UP. THE AC COMPRESSOR HAS STOPPED WORKING.
SPONTANEOUS BALL JOINT SEPARATION
AUGUST 2018 THE ELECTRICAL WENT OUT. RADIO/STEREO, AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKERS. PAID TO GET THIS FIXED. AUGUST 2019. EXACT SAME PROBLEM. THE DEALER FIXED IT. IT HAPPENED AGAIN 3 DAYS LATER. THEN THEY KEPT CAR FROM 9/4-9/20 AND COULD NOT FIX IT. I STILL HAVE NO ELECTRICAL IN STEROE OR DOOR MECHANISMS.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP LIBERTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH AND MAKING A RIGHT TURN, A THUMPING WAS HEARD AND THE STEERING PULLED TO THE RIGHT. AFTER STOPPING TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE PASSENGER'S SIDE FRONT WHEEL WAS POSITIONED INWARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SIDE BALL JOINT FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED ON THE SAME WHEEL. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 06V288000 (SUSPENSION). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE LISTED IN THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 119,000.
I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY CAME TO A STOP AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT THE JEEP STALLED AND WOULD NOT RESTART (NO CRANK, NO START). THE TRAFFIC LIGHT WAS ON A INCLINE OF A HILL, THE JEEP WAS TOO HEAVY FOR ONE PERSON TO PUSH UP, AND ROLLING BACKWARDS INTO ONCOMING 60+MPH TRAFFIC WAS NOT A OPTION. A GROUP OF GOOD CITIZENS HELPED PUSH THE JEEP TO SAFETY. BATTERY WAS FULLY CHARGED, BUT SECURITY LIGHT WAS ON, PREVENTING A RESTART. IN ADDITION WHEN THE KEY IS TURN TO THE START POSITION THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DOES NOT LIGHT UP AS NORMAL. PLUS ECM IS NOT CONNECTING TO THE SCAN TOOL. SCAN TOOL DISPLAYS CONNECTION ERROR. THE ECM FAILED. BEFORE THE FAILURE THE JEEP RAN PERFECT.
I OWN A 2006 JEEP LIBERTY THAT HAD A RECALL REPAIR COMPLETED ON THE FRONT BALL JOINT PRIOR TO THE PURCHASE OF THE VEHICLE IN 2012. SINCE THAT TIME, THE VEHICLE AGAIN HAD A PROBLEM WITH A BALL JOINT CORROSION IN THE SAME LOCATION RIGHT PASSENGER SUSPENSION. JERRY ULM REFUSED TO REPAIR THE BALL JOINT UNLESS I PAID FOR THE UPPER AND CONTROL ARM.. I HAD TO REPAIR THE ISSUE AT A LOCAL SHOP FOR $500. NOW IT IS MAKING A TERRIBLE SOUND AND I TRIED TO GET ANOTHER DEALER TO REPAIR IT ON A RECALL BUT THEY REFUSED.

THE KEY SEIZED IN THE IGNITION HAPPENED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AT HOME THE SHIFTER CABLE FRACTURED THE CONTACT STATED THAT ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED WITH THE GEAR SHIFT LEVER IN THE PARK POSITION, THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO REMOVE THE KEY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURED WAS CONTACTED AND NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 137,000. PIIR=Y.
THE CAR VIBRATES A LOT , THE CAR LOSES CONTROL ESPECIALLY WITH TURNS TO DANGEROUS, AND SLIDES FROM REAR
FRONT LEFT LOWER BALL BROKE CAUSING TIRE AND WHEEL BLOWOUT AND LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL AT 60 MPH. WAS ON HIGHWAY ON RIGHT HAND CURVE.

FURTHERMORE, THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE WAS LOW TO THE GROUND AND THE FRONT TIRES WERE RUBBING THE FRAME OF VEHICLE WHILE TURNING. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. MAC HAIK DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM (5255 I-35, GEORGETOWN, TX 78626) WAS CONTACTED AND A DIAGNOSTIC APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V278000 (SUSPENSION). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 125,000.
MY 2006 JEEP JUST STOP WORKING, CAME OUT OF WORK AND WOULD NOT TURN OVER,ECM BOX WENT BAD ON MY JEEP. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM PER MY MECHANIC THE ON BOARD ( BRAIN ) COMPUTER ECU, ECM AND EC BOX MUST BE RECALLED OR ELSE THIS ISSUE IS ON THE PURCHASERS LIKE US. FORDS HAD THE SAME PROBLEM BACK IN 96. YOUR PART FOR MAY 2006 JEEP ECM CAN NOT BE LOCATED ANYWHERE IN THE UNITED STATES, HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE????????
AFTER FUELING AND STARTING THE VEHICLE, IT FAILS TO ACCELERATE FOR SEVERAL MINUTES. ALSO WHEN FUELING IT DOESN'T STOP AND WILL OVERFLOW ONTO THE GROUND IF YOU DON'T KEEP TRACK OF HOW MUCH GAS YOU ARE PUTTING IN. ANOTHER ISSUE IS THAT THE VEHICLE SHAKES VERY BADLY WHEN IDLE.
IGNITION KEY INTERLOCK. CANT TAKE KEY OUT OF IGNITION DUE TO GEAR SHIFT INTERLOCK. HAVE TO LEAVE KEY IN IGNITION RISKING VEHICLE GETTING STOLEN.

RECALL THE WHOLE CAR SHAKES WHEN IT'S JUST START TO MOVE AND WHEN YOU START TO PUSH DOWN ON THE BRAKES TOO
I WAS LEAVING OUT OF MY DRIVE WAY WHEN THE DRIVER SIDE LOWER BALL JOINT ONCE AGAIN BROKE. I REPLACED THIS PART JUST ONE YEAR AND ONE MONTH AGO.
I FILL UP THE TANK BUT THE GAS TANK DOES NOT SHOW THAT I PUT GAS IN IT.
DRIVING VEHICLE AND VEHICLE STARTED MAKING POPPING NOISES RIGHT REAR, AND VEHICLE FELT LIKE THE REAR END WAS FISHTAILING WHY FRONT WAS STILL GOING STRAIGHT. TOOK TO CERTIFIED DEALER AND THEY REPORTED UNSAFE VEHICLE REPORT FILED DUE TO FRAME ROTTED THROUGH ON RIGHT REAR WHERE LOWER CONTROL ARM ATTACHES TO THE FRAME. THIS IS A RECALL ITEM FOR 2006 JEEP LIBERTY IN MAY 2018 (U38). OUTREACHED TO MOPAR AND AS TOLD NO RECALL ON VIN FOR THIS YET IF AUTHORIZED DEALER STATED IT IS WHAT RECALL IS THEY WOULD FILE CLAIM. WHEN TOLD IT IS, WAS DOCUMENTED ON INVOICE, MOPAR STATED THEY NEVER SAID THAT, WAS NOTHING COULD DO, WOULD NOT FILE CLAIM AGAINST U38 RECALL, AND BECAUSE UNABLE TO FIX AND OLD VEHICLE NOTHING WOULD BE DONE TO CORRECT THIS.
ON FRIDAY, 02/15/19, TRAVELING BACK FROM AUSTIN TO HOUSTON, TX, WITH MY 4 YEAR OLD SON FOR MY WEEKEND VISITATION, I HAD STOPPED AT THE ENTRANCE TO MY APT COMPLEX AND WAS WAITING FOR THE ACCESS GATE TO OPEN TO ENTER. TURNING RIGHT AND ELEVATING SLIGHTLY TO ENTER MY COMPLEX, I HEARD A LOUD GRINDING NOISE AND FELT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF MY VEHICLE LOWER. I THOUGHT I HAD MANAGED TO RUN OVER THE CURB ALONG THE PUBLIC STREET AND TRIED TO REVERSE WHEN THE SAME LOUD GRINDING NOISE COULD BE HEARD. I IMMEDIATELY STOPPED, PLACED THE CAR IN PARK, AND THEN GOT OUT OF THE VEHICLE TO INSPECT. I COULD SEE THAT THE WHEEL WAS FOLDED INWARD TOWARDS THE VEHICLE. LOOKING UNDER THE CAR I COULD ALSO SEE THE LOWER CONTROL ARM NOW RESTING ON THE GROUND ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. I HAD ZERO IDEA WHAT COULD'VE CAUSED THIS BUT WAS EXTREMELY THANKFUL IT HAD NOT OCCURRED WHILE I WAS TRAVELING IN EXCESS OF 80 MPH ON THE HWY WITH MY SON IN THE BACK SEAT. THE VEHICLE WAS STILL ON THE STREET IN FRONT OF THE BACK ENTRANCE TO MY APT COMPLEX AND A PASSERBY STOPPED TO SEE IF HE COULD HELP. HE RECOGNIZED THE SOURCE OF THE PROBLEM AND TOLD ME THAT MY PASSENGER WHEEL HAD SEPARATED FROM THE BALL JOINT. HE MENTIONED THAT HE HAD SEEN THIS HAPPEN TO NUMBER OF OTHER VEHICLES. A LOCAL HARRIS COUNTY SHERIFF OFFICER ARRIVED ON THE SCENE AND I CALLED MY STATE FARM INSURANCE ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE TO HAVE MY VEHICLE TOWED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A NEARBY A NEARBY DEALERSHIP, AUTONATION JEEP/CHRYSLER. ON MONDAY, 02/18/19, I STOPPED BY THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT THE WHEEL SEPARATION HAD CAUSED DAMAGE TO A NUMBER OF COMPONENTS. I BEGAN RESEARCHING ON-LINE AND FOUND OUT THAT A PREVIOUS NHTSA CAMPAIGN HAD BEEN OPENED IN 2006 THAT CENTERED AROUND THE EXACT PROBLEM MY VEHICLE EXPERIENCED; NHTSA CAMPAIGN#: 06V288000, DAIMLER/CHRYSLER RECALL#. SO BASICALLY I'M DRIVING MY MOM TO WORK AND ABOUT TO REACH AND LIGHT AND ACCELERATION ISN'T WORKING AND I'M LIKE WHATEVER IT'S A RED LIGHT ILL JUST BRAKE SO I BRAKE THEN THE LIGHT TURNS GREEN I PRESS THE ACCELERATION AND NOTHING IT'S NOT MOVING SO THEN THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP LITERALLY COULDN'T TURN IT I MISS THE LIGHT TURN OFF THE CAR TURN IT ON IT'S WORKING I GET TO A STOP SIGN THE SAME THING HAPPENS BUT THE OIL LIGHT COMES ON SO I'M LIKE OK MAYBE THIS THEN I BUY OIL THEN I'M ON MY WAY HOME MAKING A RIGHT ONTO A MAIN ROAD I'M LIKE OK I'LL MAKE IT AND AGAIN THE ACCELERATION STOPS WORKING AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKS UP SO BEFORE IT LOCKS ALL THE WAY I PULL UP AND THEN TURN IT OFF BACK ON AND DRIVE ALL THE WAY HOME WITH THE HAZARDS YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW TERRIFYING IT WAS TO BE ON A MAIN ROAD AND THE ACCELERATION STOPS LIKE I PRESSED ALL THE WAY AND IT WOULDN'T INCREASE THE SPEED THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED COULDN'T EVEN SLIGHTLY TURN SO IT WAS SO SCARY I'M SO SCARED TO DRIVE IT AND IDK WHAT TO DO OR HOW TO FIX IT THAT'S WHY I NEED HELP
KEY GETS STUCK IN IGNITION. FORCING CUSTOMERS TO PAY $1,000 FOR A MISTAKE MADE BY CHRYSLER. THE VEHICLE WAS IN A PARKED POSITION AND KEY WONT PULL TO LAST CLICK. THERE IS A TEMP FIX TO THIS BUT REQUIRES YOU TO PULL OUT PLASTIC FROM GEARSHIFT TO PUSH DOWN CABLE. JIGGLING AND DOING EVERYTHING YOU CAN TO REMOVE IT WILL NOT FIX THE ISSUE. CHRYSLER MADE FAULTY PARTS AND WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER THEY ARE NEW PARTS AVAILABLE IN ARCH 22ND FOR A PERMANENT SOLUTION.

MY DAUGHTER WAS BURNED BY A FIRE DUE TO A DEFECT IN A FIAT CHRYSLER AUTOMOBILES FCA US JEEP. THE VEHICLE IS A JEEP LIBERTY LIMITED. CHRYSLER JEEP HAS REFUSED TO RETURN MY PHONE CALLS AND HAS LEFT THE VEHICLE IN AN UNSAFE, DANGEROUS SITUATION. FIAT CHRYSLER AUTOMOBILES FCA US JEEP ALSO MADE A FRAUDULENT CLAIM THAT IS A COVER UP FOR THE DEFECT THAT CAUSED THE FIRE. PLEASE HELP US AND ANY OTHER POTENTIAL JEEP VICTIM THAT MAY BE AT RISK DUE TO THIS UNSAFE VEHICLE DEFECT. FIAT CHRYSLER JEEP HAS BEEN HEARTLESS AND UNKIND IN ESCALATING THIS ISSUE. THEIR EMPLOYEES HAVE STATED THAT THE COMPANY DOES NOT HAVE INTERNAL ESCALATION PROCEDURES FOR SAFETY AND THEY HAVE REFUSED TO ESCALATE THE MATTER TO SENIOR MANAGEMENT. WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 55MPH ON 95 SOUTH (4 LANES OF TRAFIC), THE FRONT OF JEEP JERK, SHUTTERING, LOUD NOICE, IMMEDIATELY LOST POWER ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I PUSHED ON EMERGENCY BLINKERS AND STRONG ARMED JEEP ON AN ANGLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE TOW REQUIRED. DEALER REPORTING CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE , NOW CONFIRMED BY SECOND REGIONIAL CONSULTANT PROVIDED BY CHRYSLER EARLIER THIS WEEK. AGREED TO REPLACE ENGINE. CONCERN THAT IF CHRYSLER 3.7 ENGINES HAVE A HISTORICAL PROBLEM A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED.
