GASOLINE OVERFLOWS FROM GAS TANK WHEN ADDING ADDITIONAL GAS AT THE FUEL PUMP. THE FILLER/BREATHER TUBE ASSEMBLY AND GAS TANK WERE REPLACED BUT IT DIDN'T FIX THIS PROBLEM.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE BALL JOINTS WERE FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
BOUGHT FROM DEALER SAID FRONT AXLE WAS REPLACED BEFORE PURCHASING BUT I BELIEVE NOT TERRIABLE NOISE.
The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Liberty. The contact stated that she initially received a recall notification for NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V278000 (Suspension) and had the recall serviced at a dealer. Recently, the contact stated that an abnormal clanking sound was coming from the vehicle while driving at various speeds. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact had first taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic where she had the brake pads, rotors and calipers replaced. Despite the repair, the failure persisted, and the contact then took the vehicle back to the dealer where the recall was serviced. The dealer then informed her that both the lower and upper control arms had fractured and that the driveshaft and ball joints all needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.
LOWER BALL JOINT BROKE FROM CORROSION. THIS IS RECALLED ON 02-06 MODELS BUT NOT 07. HOWEVER, MY JEEP WAS MANUFACTURED IN 2006. I WAS PULLING INTO MY DRIVEWAY AND FELT SOMETHING BREAK BELOW ME. AS I PULLED FURTHER IN I FELT A GRINDING NOISE. HAD I BEEN DRIVING FASTER I WOULD HAVE WRECKED MY CAR.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP LIBERTY. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH IN A SCHOOL LANE, ANOTHER DRIVER PULLED OUT AND CRASHED INTO THE FRONT OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUFFERED WHIPLASH AND A MINOR CONCUSSION, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE HOME AND THEN HAD IT TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRONT LOWER CONTROL ARMS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND AN ALIGNMENT WAS NEEDED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 180,000.

I CONTACTED SOUTH POINT DODGE IN AUSTIN, TX 2 MONTHS AGO ABOUT REPLACING THE REAR CONTROL ARMS DUE TO A RECALL. THEY SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT FOR THEM TO REPLACE THE PART. WHEN I ARRIVED, THEY TOLD ME NO ONE HAD ORDERED THE PART AND THAT THEY COULD NOT PROVIDE SERVICE. I CONFIRMED WITH THE MANAGER THAT THEY WOULD ORDER THE PART AND CALL ME BACK WHEN THEY COULD REPLACE IT. I HAVE NOT HEARD BACK IN 2 MONTHS. I CALLED TODAY AND THEY HAVE NOT ORDERED THE PART. I ASKED THEM AGAIN TO ORDER THE PART, BUT NOW THEY ARE ON BACKORDER. I AM CONCERNED THE REAR CONTROL ARM WILL FAIL WHILE I AM DRIVING. I HAVE DONE EVERYTHING I CAN TO GET IT REPLACED, BUT THE DEALERSHIP IS NOT PUTTING ANY IMPORTANCE ON THE RECALL. A SCRUBBING/SQUEAKING NOISE STARTED ON THE LEFT FRONT TIRE OF MY 2007 JEEP LIBERTY. I TOOK THE CAR TO MY MECHANIC AND IT WAS DIAGNOSED AS BEING THE CONTROL ARMS ON THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THEN THE RECALL CAME OUT FOR THE REAR CONTROL ARMS. I TOOK THE CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE REAR REPAIRED AND WAS ALSO TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THE FRONT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. WHILE LEAVING MY CAR FOR REPAIR ANOTHER LIBERTY CAME IN WITH THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL ASSEMBLY SEPARATED FROM THE CAR. THE CONTROL ARM HAD FRACTURED/BROKE. IF FAULTY PARTS WERE USED ON THE REAR IT WOULD SEEM THAT THE SAME MANUFACTURER WOULD BE USED TO SUPPLY THE FRONT PARTS. THE DEALERSHIP ALSO EXPLAINED THAT THEY HAD SEVERAL OF THE SAME MODEL COME IN WITH THE FRONT CONTROL ARM PROBLEMS
I TOOK OUR VEHICLE TO CROWN DODGE, VENTURA CA. TO SATISFY THE TRAILER HITCH RECALL. I ALSO WANTED TO SATISFY NHTSA RECALL #18V-278 (REAR LOWER CONTROL ARMS). THE PARTS WEREN'T AVAILABLE AT THE TIME AND I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD CONTACT ME WITHIN 2 WEEKS TO RESCHEDULE THE REPAIR. THEY NEVER CONTACTED ME. WE HAVE MOVED SINCE AND THERE ARE NO DEALERS NEAR ME TO CONDUCT THE SAFETY REPAIR. HOW CAN I GET THIS REPAIR COMPLETED WITHOUT HAVING TO DRIVE TOO FAR? THE VEHICLE MAY NOT BE SAFE TO DRIVE. PLEASE ADVISE.
AFTER CONTACTING THE 800# WAS REFERRED TO FINLAY JEEP IN POST FALLS IDAHO. AFTER CALLING THEM 2X IN 30 DAYS THEY HAVE SAID THE PARTS ARE ON BACK ORDER. DID NOT TAKE MY NUMBER OR INFO. TO GET ME ON A LIST FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. RECALL #U38/NHTSA. WHY IS THIS RECALL SEEMING TO NOT BE IMPORTANT?

THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PASSENGER SUSTAINED HEAD INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THIRD BRAKE LIGHT RUST, DUE TO POOR SEAL AND DESIGN. COST HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS IN REPAIRS, WHICH IS SILENT UNTIL THE LIGHT FALLS OUT AND DAMAGE IS BEYOND A SIMPLE REPAIR. I WAS ALERTED TO THIS BY THE AUTO BODY SHOP, THAT TOLD ME IT WAS COMMON IN JEEP LIBERTY, AND DID MY RESEARCH. WE ARE THE ONLY OWNERS, AND IT HAS GOOD SERVICE RECORDS. SPEND HALF OF IT'S TIME PARKED IN A GARAGE, WHY IS THIS A ISSUE. WHY ARE MANY JEEP OWNERS HAVING THIS ISSUE. JEEP IS BEING REPAIRED LIGHT FELL OUT, THEREFORE MAKING IT UNSAFE TO DRIVE. I WILL HAVE A BILL FOR REPAIR AT COMPLETION. MY HUSBAND WAS LEAVING OUR DRIVEWAY WHEN THE LIGHT WAS NOTICED HANGING, BEFORE IT COULD FALL OUT IN TRAFFIC.

AS A RESULT, THE SUSPENSION AND FRONT DRIVER SIDE WHEEL SEPARATED AND BECAME STUCK IN THE WHEEL WELL. THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DEEMED DESTROYED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 299,999. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND SUDDENLY I HAD LITTLE STEERING CONTROL AND IT FELT LIKE I BLEW A TIRE. PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY, AND SAW THAT MY TIRE WAS BLOWN AND MY RIM WAS DAMAGED BECAUSE THE BALL JOINT SNAPPED AND THE CONTROL ARM WENT THROUGH THE RIM. THIS WAS ON THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE AND HAPPENEDED ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO. A SIMILAR THING HAPPENED TODAY BUT IT AFFECTED THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE.
RUST AROUND THIRD BRAKE LIGHT CAUSED LIGHT HOUSING TO FALL OUT OF REAR HATCHBACK THUS CAUSING A SAFETY ISSUE.
WENT TO MY MECHANIC A FEW WEEKS AGO AND HE TOLD ME THAT MY FRONT DRIVE SHAFT IS BROKEN. HE DID NOT SEE ANY PHYSICAL DAMAGE AS TO WHY IT BROKE. WHEN WE WERE RESEARCHING PRICES FOR DRIVE SHAFTS WE NOTICED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON IT IN 2013. WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN FEB 2013 AND NEVER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THEY LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND WAS UNCERTAIN IF THE POWER TRAIN CONTROL MODULE CAUSED A MOMENTARY LOCK UP OF THE DRIVE WHEELS. THE VEHICLE FLIPPED MORE THAN 5 TIMES THROWING THE CONTACT FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS TRANSPORTED BY AMBULANCE AND WAS UNCERTAIN OF THE EVENTS THAT TOOK PLACE DUE TO BEING UNCONSCIOUS DURING THE FAILURE. THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED FURTHER MEDICAL TREATMENT DUE TO HEAD AND BODILY INJURIES SUSTAINED FROM THE CRASH. THE INSURANCE COMPANY TOWED THE VEHICLE TO A YARD BUT HAD NOT INSPECTED THE CAUSE OF THE CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED AND DIAGNOSED BY A DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. WHEN STARTING UP MY CAR AFTER 4 DAYS OF NOT DRIVING, THE ABS, BRAKE & TRACTION SENSOR WARNING LIGHTS CONTINUELY STAY ON ONCE MY CAR IS STARTED AND MOVING, NHTSA RECALL REF#06V493000, STATES AND ABS CONTROL MODULE SOFWARE PROBLEM, MAY CAUSE LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL, NOT SURE WHAT MODEL THIS RECALL IS FOR, CONTACTED CRYSLER, AND RECEIVED NO ASSIST OR ADVICE, I DON'T KNOW IF I SHOULD BE DRIVING MY CAR OR NOT, I'M VERY CONCERNED
EVERY TIME I FILL UP WITH GAS, THE FUEL OVERFLOWS AND SPILLS ONTO THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND GROUND DESPITE USING THE AUTO SHUTOFF ON THE GAS PUMP.
ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON ALL THE TIME. ALSO ABS, TRACTION, EPS LIGHTS FLASH ON INTERMITTENTLY FOLLOWING A WARNING SOUND. THIS PANEL ISSUE CAN OCCUR UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE OR WHILE DRIVING ON BOTH INTERSTATE AND ON CITY ROADS. HAVE BROUGHT IT TO MY MECHANIC THREE TIMES NOW. MY MECHANIC HAS PLUGGED THE UNIT INTO THE DIAGNOSTIC SYSREM TO CHECK ERROR CODES AND IT REGISTERED FIVE RANDOM ERROR CODES SIMULTANEOUSLY WHICH HE FELT WERE UNRELATED TO THE IISSUE, NOR WAS IT POSSIBLE TO HAVE THOSE FIVE RELATED CODES ALL AT ONCE. HE SUSPECTED THAT IT WAS A PANEL MALFUNCTION AND WONDERED IF A RECALL HAD BEEN ISSUED THAT HE WAS UNAWARE OF. BUT HE WENT THROUGH THE PROCESS OF CHECKING CONNECTION AND CLEANING CONNECTIONS ANYWAY. HE SUGGESTED TO BRING IT BACK TO A JEEP MANUFACTURER FOR FURTHER EVALUATION IF IT RECURRED AGAIN, WHICH IT DID! FROM THE COMPLAINTS LISTED, IT SOUNDS LIKE JEEP DOES KNOW EITHER BUT THEY CONTINUE TO CHARGE CONSUMERS FOR REPAIRS THAT HAVE NOT SOLVED THE PROBLEM. OBVIOUSLY DRIVING THE VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE PER CUSTOMERS COMPLAINTS EITHER. PERHAPS SOMEONE IS WAITING FOR A TRAGEDY BEFORE ANY TYPE OF RECALL IS CONSIDERED WHICH IS SAD.
THE TWO FRONT WINDOWS DO NOT GO UP RIGHT IN THE JEEP AND GET STUCK AND GO UP SIDEWAYS. THE PASSENGER FRONT WINDOWS CAN NOT BE PUT DOWN FAR OR A CORD WILL COME UP FROM UNDER THE WINDOW. SEEMS TO BE A KNOWN PROBLEM IN THIS MAKE OF JEEPS.
WINDOW REGULATORS. WINDOWS FALL INTO THE DOOR AND WILL NOT COME BACK UP. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY THIS TIME. REPEATED OCCURRENCES. I AM TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT THE TIME FRAME IS UP FOR THE RECALL; HOWEVER, I HAD THIS FIXED DURING THE RECALL PERIOD AND IT IS BROKEN AGAIN.
HAVE A 2007 JEEP LIBERTY, WHERE THE WINDOW REGULATORS HAVE FAILED 5 TIMES. 3 TIMES WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. LAST TIME (11/09/15) HAD TO PAY $450.00 FOR REPAIR. THIS TIME, THE ESTIMATED COST IS ANOTHER $450.00. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER. FIVE FAILURES FOR THE SAME PART IS RIDICULOUS. I UNDERSTAND THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION SUIT BROUGHT AGAINST CHRYSLER FOR THIS PROBLEM, BUT DON'T KNOW IF THAT SUIT IS STILL ACTIVE OR IF I CAN GET ADDED TO IT, OR IF I CAN GET REIMBURSED FOR THE REPAIR. I AM LOCATED IN FLORIDA.
DRIVERS SEAT BELT LATCH WONT LATCH ANYMORE. IF YOU LOOK ONLINE THERE ARE TONS OF OTHERS THAT ARE HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE. IF IT IS CONCERNING MY SAFETY AND MY FAMILIES SAFETY IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ON A RECALL LIST TO GET FIXED.
REAR PASSENGER WINDOW HAS FALLEN INTO THE DOOR. THIS IS A VERY COMMON COMPLAINT AMONG THIS MAKE, MODEL, AND YEAR. AND IT APPEARS THAT ALL FOUR WINDOWS ARE AT RISK OF THE SAME DEFECT. NOT SURE WHEN THIS HAPPENED, PROBABLY WHILE STATIONARY AT NIGHT.
THE CAR WAS IN MOTION AND CAME TO A SUDDEN STOP WHILE REVERSING IN A SPOT. CAR SHUT OFF AND BLACK SMOKE CARE FROM ENGINE AND THEN CAUGHT FIRE. NO WARNING LIGHT OR INDICATORS CAME ON DURING THIS TIME. ONCE I WAS OUT OF THE CAR IT CAUGHT FIRE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT IT WAS NOT PART OF A RECALL. THE SKY SLIDER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, BUT WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
