I purchased a used 2016 Jeep Renegade from a dealership located in Chicago, Illinois, on October 12, 2025. The seller assured me that the vehicle title was available and promised to mail it to me the day after the purchase, since I live in Nebraska and could not return in person to pick it up. It has now been more than three weeks, and the dealership has not delivered the title, now claiming that the auction has not yet provided it. The vehicle is currently in my possession, but I am unable to register or legally use it due to the missing title. The dealership only provided a “bill of sale” as proof of purchase. In addition, the seller offered a 30-day warranty for a transmission issue, which began showing problems again before the warranty expired. However, the dealership refuses to issue any refund, stating that it “does not make returns.” I believe this situation poses a risk to consumer safety, as the vehicle was sold without a valid title and with a significant mechanical issue that could affect its operation. I request that the dealership be investigated for possible violations of vehicle sales laws and consumer fraud.
there were no warnings on the vehicle to indicate a problem occurring. coming from a complete stop there is a delay in accelerating to speed - feels like a stall and the pedal is not receiving any gas... but the tank is full. dealership never found any issues nor were able to reproduce the same problem. this problem happens multiple times a year. this is dangerous for driving as i'm unable to get to full speed in traffic.
The contact owns a 2016 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 MPH, the steering wheel suddenly began to shake and vibrate, and moments later the front driver’s side suspension system failed to render the vehicle undrivable. The vehicle was towed to the local independent mechanic who diagnosed that the front rack and pinion rod had dislodged. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The local dealer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 122,000.

SINCE PURCHASE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM RANDOMLY GIVES ALL WARNING LIGHTS AND WILL NOT LET ME SHUT OFF VEHICLE WITHOUT UNHOOKING BATTERY AND HOOKING BACK UP. HAVE HAD IT IN SHOP MULTIPLE TIMES FOR SAME THING, NEITHER JEEP PLACE I HAVE TOOK IT TO CAN FIGURE IT OUT AND TELL ME MY ONLY OPTION IS TO HAVE TOWED IN NEXT TIME IT DOES IT AND LEAVING ON AND "PRAYING THEIR SERVICE DEPT IS OPEN WHEN IT HAPPENS" PER RICE JEEP DODGE ON ALCOA HWY, LENOIR CITY CHRYSLER DODGE WHERE PURCHASED TOLD ME TO GET LAWYER SO I REFUSE TO TAKE BACK THERE. RICE DODGE HAS BEEN MUCH MORE HELPFUL AND UNDERSTANDING AND NOT THREATENING ME. HAVE BEEN WORKING WITH FRANK AT JEEP CORPORATE AND HAVE MULTIPLE OPEN CASES
I WAS ON THE FREEWAY WHEN THE CAR MADE A GRINDING NOISE AND STOP SODDENLY AND IT WOULDN'T MOVE AS IF THE BRAKES HAD LOCK UP ON ME AND IT FELT LIKE SOMETHING HAD BROOKED BUT I COULDN'T SEE ANY THING UNTIL THE MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT IT WAS THE REAR SUSPENSION REAR CONTROL ARM. AND REAR SUSPENSION REAR ROD CAME OFF LOOSE AND CAUSED THE REAR WHEEL TO MOVE SIDEWAYS AND IT WAS DRAGGING.
INITIALLY VEHICLE HAD A BURNING SMELL WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE THE AUXILIARY COOLANT PUMP. AFTER CHANGING THE COOLANT PUMP IN MARCH VEHICLE PRODUCED FALSE OVERHEAT CONDITIONS FOUR TIMES AND THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND SHUT DOWN EACH TIME, WHILE DRIVING. TWO OF THE TIMES WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE OTHER TWO WHILE DRIVING THROUGH LOCAL STREETS. DEALER THEN CHANGED THE TEMPERATURE SENSOR. THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED SO THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THAT THE ISSUE HAS BEEN CORRECTED. AS A SECONDARY ISSUE THE VEHICLE THEN HAD GRINDING NOISE IN FRONT END WHICH OCCURRED IN JUNE AND IS STILL OCCURRING. INITIALLY THEY CHANGED THE RIGHT FRONT UPPER MOUNT BEARING. THEY HAVE REPLACED THAT PART ONCE AGAIN AS WELL AS THE RIGHT FRONT HUB BEARING AND SPINDLE, CONTROL ARM, AND THE UPPER STRUT MOUNT BOOT, NONE OF WHICH HAVE CORRECTED THE PROBLEM. THIS ONCE AGAIN CANNOT BE DUPLICATED ON A LIFT AND THEY ARE HAVING ISSUES DIAGNOSING THE PROBLEM. AS OF THIS WRITING VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN SHOP OVER 30 DAYS AND THEY ARE STILL UNABLE TO REPAIR.
