I was in an head on colisin and neither of my front airbags deployed
My 2020 Jeep Renegade has been burning a quart of oil every 1,000 miles or so. Im sure many people do not check it as consistently as i do. Burning oil im sure is hard on the spark plugs, catalitic converters, and the emissions.

The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 10,598
Oil leak from faulty gasket in 2020 jeep renegade trailhawks. First appeared August 11th.
Vehicle has an oil leak due to a faulty vacuum pump and gasket which is causing the vehicle to leak an excessive amount throughout the engine and other components. It was seen by a repair shop and they pinpointed the leak. This could cause an engine to stall while driving if not fixed soon which could potentially involve being in a accident to cause injury and or even death. The leak first appeared in August 2025 and can not be driven until fixed. This issue is also happening to my husbands vehicle which is the same as mine.
Radio needed replacement, transmission was replaced under lease contract, Rack & Pinion replaced, Steering & Suspension R/F Axle replacement needs to be done, part is on back order until September 2025-This is very dangerous. There should be recalls on the above is the part is on back order there are many issues with this these parts. This car has too many issues its only a 2020.
Engine stalled in much the same way as numerous other owners are describing on this forum. It happened on the freeway at 70mph in cruise control. Engine instantly killed, NO check engine light, dealership ran codes and found no errors. Very dangerous. Can Stellantis please diagnose this and get a recall. I don't trust this car and stopped driving it.
Backup Camera/Radio/UConnect screen is glitching to where I can no longer see the backup camera when in reverse, and can no longer see what is playing on the radio. This started happening less than 3 months ago, when the heat started ramping up. Backup camera is a safety mechanism, and while using the rear view mirrors is fine, the backup camera should work without fail.
The forward screen which displays the backup camera has failed. It sound it’s like it is a common issue but unfortunately changing just the screen is unavailable so the entire unit must be changed for over $1000.
The uconnect screen is black, therefore I can use backup camera and see anything on the screen.
Vehicle stopped dead went into park. All lights came on of temperature control throttle without any warning of check engine prior to I was in busy traffic and having to get towed to the dealership now the dealership doesn’t know what’s wrong with it and I’m without a vehicle.
My car system simply failed in the middle the road while driving. I had More than enough gas as well as great battery in the car. My car would not turn over to completely start but will turn on just to have a battery use. During my car stopping in the middle of the street many cars almost rammed into the back of me because i could Not get the car to turn on or move. Following this a tow truck by AAA came to get my car and tow it to Jeep dodge and ram in Greensboro, NC where it was then inspected and stated that it has a fuel pump failure which is heartbreaking because i have Had the car for only 4-4 1/2 years. With amazing maintenance on it
The screen began glitching for a week. By the end of the week, the middle of the screen turn back. It is a hazard when reversing as you cannot see pedestrians or how far objects are due to the blackout. Moreover, when using navigation, the road for traffic is not visible so it is a safety hazard. It was review at a Jeep dealership after I took my car in for a recall. My vehicle is ready for inspection and it has not been reviewed by insurance or police.
The screen for the back-up camera doesn't work at all. The touch screen still works if you know where everything should be on the display but there's is no visual input at all. Just a black screen. This is exceptionally dangerous in such a large vehicle because backing up without that camera could result in serious injury or death of pedestrians, especially children.
The Uconnect screen is glitching in and out and only 2/3 of the screen is appearing. Going into the dealer tomorrow.
While driving, my radiator cooling fan malfunctioned and a piece broke off. The fan now does not work properly to cool my radiator and the car shakes when I turn on the ac or when I’m at idle.
Vehicle constantly overheats and the cooling fans go out. I work for a company that has 30 Jeep Renegades ranging from year 2020 to 2023. They all have this issue. Leaking coolant, AC going out, cooling fan needing replacement, not starting, stalling, overheating, etc. I can give all VIN numbers if necessary.
The U connect system screen does not work , goes in and out and is scrambled . I am unable to use back up camera
My touchscreen has begun to have an issue wherein the center of the screen displays as discolored, sometimes has lines running through the display, and sometimes glitches in such a way that items on the screen are in different spots than usual. The warped view of the screen is a nuisance; however, what is even more of a safety issue is that it affects the reliability of the backup camera. While of course I must still turn my head to physically look behind me while backing up, the fact that the backup camera cannot be safely used is a major defect. My car is 4 years old, has never been in any accidents or collisions, and there is no reason that the display should be malfunctioning already. I have not had this issue with the display inspected whatsoever. There were no warnings of this defect, it simply appeared one day out of nowhere about 4 weeks ago.
Vehicle had strong smell of fuel after short trip. Investigated, found fuel on harness behind engine. Took vehicle to dealership. Dealer found "diagnose hole in fuel supply tube. Damage caused from contacting and rubbing on engine wire harness. Fuel line bundle will need tom be replaced. VEHICLE NOT SAFE TO DRIVE!." There were no warning lamps, messages, or any other signs of a problem except for the smell of fuel. I do have the fuel bundle that was replaced showing the damage, a pinhole. Pictures attached.
The contact owns a 2020 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the rear passenger’s side window exterior weather strip failed and caused rainwater to enter the vehicle while driving. The cause of the failure was not yet determined, and the vehicle was not repaired. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 50,000.
Opened the sunroof and it won’t close. Keeps getting jammed and is stuck. Went to two jeep dealers and they said the entire roof needs replaced. No debris was in the way. Not off track. Replacing the whole dang roof. Must be electrical or mechanically broken. Want to warn others and investigate if it’s a common issue.
UNKNOWN- When phone is connected to car and navigation is used the screen in car freezes, lags and turns the radio off and on. It happens too many times to keep count as I drive for a living. I took my jeep into the dealership to address the problem and get it fixed. The dealership told me they are aware of the problem. They had already tried to fix the problem on several jeeps, and they were brought back with the same complaint. They weren't going to waste their time or money trying to fix the problem on any of the jeeps until they knew exactly what the problem was and how to fix it. I was told they couldn't do anything for me. That when the problem is occurring, I should get a video of it happening and bring it to them so they can try to figure out what the problem is. The problem is I'm driving when the problem occurs, so I can't safely record it happening.
The driver side seat belt doesn’t lock in place when trying to put it on.
As of May 5, 2023 vehicle begin to jump when pushing on the gas as though there was bad fuel or a misfire. Reported to the dealership as soon as I had an appointment on May 15 due to no errors on the computer they were not able to diagnose Without a code Was advised to continue driving car as there was nothing happening on their end. On July 20, 2023 the vehicle turned off while driving and stepping on the gas the vehicle then turned on with lights. I had never seen before and then pulled over to check on overheating which there was none turned off the car, and turned back on, proceeded to a auto parts store where they had an OBD two reader for codes P2122 & U1400 were reported multiple times at a severity level three. Vehicle is currently at the dealership where the mechanic reset the codes and doesn’t know how to get them back. Vehicle continues to jump when pushing on gas.
While driving my 2020 Jeep Renegade it will just shut itself down with no warning. I was on the freeway going 60 mph when the car just shut off causing me to have to pull over on the side of the freeway (which is illegal) and then having to restart the car - this happened 6 times in a matter of 24 hours causing me to have to bring my Jeep to the dealership. I was told that there are more electrical issues that will nee dot be addressed but that the main reason for the shut off weas due to not enough oil in the car even though I just had an oil change and was not due for some time. Why would the car just shut off with no warnings? At least a low oil level light would be better than just shutting down.
The contact owns a 2020 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, there was dark smoke coming from the exhaust pipe. The contact stated that the vehicle would stall and shut off after being shifted into drive. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the compression in the engine was low, and the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage 80,000.
Three times this month while driving my jeep the car stalls and a bunch of warning lights comes on. It’s always in the middle of traffic and can be a hazard while driving
Vehicle randomly stalls out, engine shuts off, while driving. Check engine, service fuel cut-off, parking brake, air bag, ABS, coolant temperature high, service ESC system lights and messages. All of these warnings and messages occurred during the stall out, never before. It's currently in the shop for the third time to figure out the problem and to get it fixed. The vehicle has only been inspected by the dealership/shop currently working on it.
The driver side seat belt failed immediately after first impact to concrete barrier on front driver side the vehicle was then forced back across the highway where it hit the concrete barrier on the right side of the vehicle and was then forced back across the highway where the vehicle came to a stop but only after the vehicle hit the first concrete barrier for a second time there was only one wheel/tire left on the jeep the other 3 were broke completely off of the jeep as well as both axles being broke and finally this vehicle comes with a total of seven airbags and after all this not even one of them deployed and as a result my wife was seriously injured there was a police report which reflects my wife was declared not at fault. The vehicle was then towed to crash champions in Nampa Idaho where they figured that there was over $18,000 in damages our insurance company declared it a total loss so when it came time to pay the claim our insurance company was valuing the vehicle way less than it was actually worth and then they said we did not have medical on the policy then they called up Chrysler finance and tried to get them to accept a payout without my knowledge well that didn't work for them then they told Chrysler that I wanted to retain the vehicle which was a lie all I wanted was for someone to come by and inspect the vehicle then they could've done whatever they wanted to with it I've called the numbers in my owners manual opened up a complaint followed up with them for over a year and they never got back to me also I've been back to the dealership 5 times now and finally met the new manager and informed him of the situation and it's very hurtful inside to know that you've been ignored well here we are a little over 18 months now since the crash and the jeep is still sitting in my driveway what else can I say,oh yeah I'M PISSED
The engine stalled and shut off with no warning lights or anything. The whole car shut off while I was driving. This has done it to me 2 times. First incident I was in the middle of an intersection and it died on me. I had to put the car in neutral and coast to safety. Got it to start back and drive to the dealership and they couldn’t figure out what happened. 2nd time I was merging on a highway from an on ramp and it just shut off with no warning. I had it towed to the dealer. I had oil and I had gas both according to the computer and dash of the vehicle. I was told the dealership that it was probably my fuel level sensor could be bad because the computer registers that I have fuel when I don’t have any. I was told it wasn’t covered under warranty and there was not any recalls at that time. I have read recent articles where many jeeps and dodges around my year model with the same issues and the engine stalling. It’s happening now to me and I am seriously concerned for my safety. This car is 3 years old and shouldn’t be having this issue. I feel like I was sold a lemon and it has caused me to think I will never buy another Chrysler made vehicle.
FRONT PASSENGER ANCHER PRETENSIONER(FAILED)
I was parking in my usual spot, slowly into the parking spot with my foot on the brake 5 mph, suddenly the Jeep accelerated and smashed into the wall of the building at full force. The Jeep bounced back so hard it jerked my head. The Jeep was leaking fluid, and the frame bent with body damaged. It had to be towed to the body shop. I am 100% sure that my foot was NOT on the accelerator. This could have been a fatality if I was on the road with other cars. Please investigate, I feel unsafe.

The contact stated that the seat belt tightened causing a bruise. The contact was able to pull over. The contact attempted several times to jump-start the vehicle however, the vehicle would not start. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The dealer was contacted and stated that the vehicle was not under warranty and that the contact had to pay out-of-pocket for the repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that the vehicle was out of warranty. The failure mileage was 48,577.
The contact owns a 2020 Jeep Renegade equipped with Dunlop Tires, Tire Line: Signature 2, Tire Size: 23/60/R17, DOT Number: N6KTJR1R. The contact stated while driving 35 MPH, there was a flapping sound coming from the rear driver’s side of the vehicle. The contact was able to get home safely however, after inspecting the tires, the contact became aware of tread separation on the driver’s and passenger’s side rear tires. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the contact was informed that the tire manufacturer would be contacted and notified of the failure. The tires were also taken to a tire shop and the contact was informed that the tires were defective. The tires were not replaced. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 25,000.
The contact owns a 2020 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated that while the vehicle was at the dealer for an oil change and tire rotation, the service mechanic discovered that the front passenger’s side wheel lug nuts had swollen and was extremely difficult to remove while attempting to remove the tire. The contact indicated that two mechanics were needed to loosen the lug nuts. The cause of the failure was not determined. The lug nuts were replaced. The contact was concerned that if there was a flat tire it would be difficult to remove the tire with the faulty lug nuts. The manufacturer was not yet contacted regarding the failure. The failure mileage was 16,200.
The backup camera failed after being replaced one month ago. The safety of others is at risk because if I have a blind spot that the backup camera usually shows, I am at risk of accidentally hitting someone or something. It has not been inspected since it stopped working. The camera started lagging around two weeks ago which could have also put someone in danger.
The contact owns a 2020 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated while driving approximately 2 MPH, the Emergency Automatic Braking independently activated and the vehicle came to a complete stop. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The vehicle was towed to the dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 41,000.
Went to pass someone car wouldn’t shift or pick up in speed several times, on interstate as well as on highways. Expressed concern to dealer, didn’t perform testing, cleared codes. Getting gas, vehicle didn’t recognize shut off gas spilled everywhere all over the vehicle and the parking lot Today shut off 4x while driving. 2 times jeep threw vehicle into park via the emergency break while driving. 2 times jeep just shut down and stopped. Had trouble starting aging after just shutting off. Vehicle being towed to another dealer today
In April 2022, to my surprise the car first stalled on me while I was driving. The “pressure coolant high” was warning light that appeared on the screen when this happened. To start the car, I had to put it in park and then push the ignition button to get it started again. I continued my drive thinking it was a computer error because my coolant level was normal. Where it should be . A few minutes later, it happened again. And I repeated the same process to get it started. Knowing this was a serious issue , as I was driving with my child in the car, I made an appointment with the manufacturer to have it serviced. Three days later, the dealership “Nothing’s wrong the car. A terminal on the battery was loose and it’s ready for pick up.” A few weeks later, the intermittent stalling began occurring again. However, it’s frequency became increasingly worse. It would stall unexpectedly as I am driving on highways, main roads, side streets; while the start/stop option is on and when it is turned off. All dangerous factors. In addition, to the “pressure coolant high” other warning lights came on: “parking brake alert” , “check engine”, “battery”, “throttle failure”. Then, the engine failed to come on at start-up . I would have to push the ignition button multiple times for the car to start. I took the car back to the dealership on June 29th, 2022 for the second time. After, I having the vehicle for 3 days they informed me that my car needed “a new battery and an oil change.” I had to plead with them to run more diagnostics on the renegade because this is more than a replacement battery issue. My safety, my family’s safety, and the safety of other drivers are at risk because I never know when this car will stall on me as I am driving. Unexpectedly, I can get hit from behind by a driver on the highway who is not expecting me to stop out of nowhere. In researching, I’ve found that has been a known issue since 2015.
seatbelts did not stop me from hitting the dashboard/steering wheel when car hit us from behind
Problem began on 1/1/22. I was out running errands when vehicle lost acceleration power, check engine light came on followed by a service transmission light. My vehicle is less than a year old with under 8000 miles on it and is regularly maintained. There is no foreseeable reason for it to be having problems
So I have a 2020 Renegade Sport. Had no issues with it up to today but I was climbing the gravel hill to my house in about 4 inches of snow. I was in 4WD snow mode and lost everything. Error messages popped and got kicked into FWD. Jeep went sliding, luckily I slid into the upward side of the hill and not over the edge. Got these errors. Dynamic Steering Torque service required Service Electronic Power Steering Service Hill Start Assist system Traction Assist Turned Off/Light On Could not get 4WD to reset that day but the next morning all codes and errors were gone. I’m lucky there were no other vehicles and that I didn’t slide over the edge. Dealer is checking vehicle for cause of issue.
The contact owned a 2020 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated that while the vehicle was stopped on the expressway for roadway construction, another vehicle rear-ended the rear driver's side. The contact's head and face struck the steering wheel, causing a nosebleed. The vehicle spun and collided with two to three other occupied vehicles; however, the contact did not know if anyone was injured. The air bags did not deploy, and the seat belts failed to restrain the contact and her two minor children, seated in the rear passenger's and driver's side seats. The contact's child, who was sitting in the rear passenger's seat, was thrown into the trunk upon impact. The doors failed to unlock until the fire department arrived. The firefighters opened the door to evacuate the contact and her children. The contact and her children were transported to the hospital by ambulance, where police informed her that the vehicle that rear-ended her was driving at 90-95 MPH. The contact was unaware that police and fire department reports had been filed. The contact had body aches, and bruises on her stomach, legs, and back, and her left pinky was fractured. One of the contact's sons suffered from back and leg pain, while the other had headaches. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard and deemed totaled by the insurance company. The contact later received an email from the dealer stating that the vehicle was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V510000 (Air Bags, Seat Belts). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown. The VIN was unavailable.
The front passenger side blew out at my rim and came through the side. My back passenger side tire is splitting right at the rim where the front one blew out. 215/60 r 17 is the tire size. The belts are dislocating I believe and that’s why they blew out the way that they did
The contact owns a 2020 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated while driving approximately 40-50 MPH, the vehicle was jerking without warning. The contact’s husband who is a mechanic informed her that the transmission was slipping. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where they failed to provide a diagnostic test. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 24,813.
Was driving and entering onto a freeway going about 40-50mph. I was able to reach 60 mph on freeway. All of a sudden the thing where car shuts off when stopped at light that came on and then check engine light and then had to slow down however after slowing I was not able to go above 40 mph and had to try to get over to pullover. I let my car sit for a couple hours and when I put it in drive and accelerated my front end was smoking and extremely hot. When I was able to open hood everything was hot opened oil cap as I had a puddle of oil now under my car smoke came pouring out of where you put oil. Not sure if connected but the month prior my car was being fixed for a blower motor and at that time was leaking oil. I had an issue previously on a Chevy Malibu where blower vacuum motor broke and caused broke piece to go into engine fan which then needed engine replacement. It is currently being diagnosed however all they can tell me is that I need a new engine likely and they can’t get enough compression to diagnose cause. This is dangerous with the amount of oil lost in that short amount of time. It should be noted it was just in for an oil change 2 wks prior to the incident at the jeep dealership where I bought the vehicle.
My 2020 Jeep Renegade would not shut off the evening of 6/22/21. The Jeep Road Service tech tried unhooking the battery but that did not shut it down. He thought that holding the key fob directly over /on the push start button it would shut it down. It did not. He then, at the suggestion of my father removed the 15 amp Fuel fuse and that finally stopped the car. He then towed it to the dealer Paul Bailey Chrysler/Jeep. They noted that the battery cable was loose and I explained that the tow truck person tried the battery at first. They said they reset the RFH ? I believe its located in the computer circuit. They road tested and said they never saw that happen before and I took it home. 6/24/21. So far so good.
THE PCV-(PRESSURE CONTROL VALVE) WORKS LIKE A DIAPHRAGM BREATHING IN AND OUT, WHICH THEN BLOCKS LIQUID FROM ENTERING THE AIR INTAKE AND MANIFOLD.
CAMSHAFT PCV-(PRESSURE CONTROL VALVE) DOESN'T WORK PROPERLY=(IN WRONG DIRECTION). ASKING FOR A RECALL. CAN CAUSE ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF LOW IDLE AND IMPROPER VACUM IN BRAKES CAUSING THEM TO FAIL.
