05 JEEP WRANGLER, WHEN FILLING GAS TANK, WITH PUMP ON AUTO FILL, IT OVER FLOWS ONTO THE GROUND. *TR
I OWN A 2005 JEEP WRANGLER LWB, RECENTLY, EVERY TIME I FILL UP WITH FUEL,GAS SHOOTS OUT OF THE FUEL FILLER. THIS DEFECT IS WELL DOCUMENTED ON THE JEEP WEBSITE FORUMS. IT SEEMS CHRYSLER IS REPLACING SOME FUEL TANKS, AS THEY ARE ATTRIBUTED TO THE ROLLOVER VALVE, BUILT INTO THE TANK. BUT, AS I SEE IT, THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW, AS THE TANKS THEY ARE REPLACING, WILL IN TIME, DO THE SAME THING. YOUR TIMELY INVESTIGATION OF THIS MATTER, IS OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE. THE VIOLENCE OF SOME OF THE SPILLS I HAVE WITNESSED, DESERVE IMMEDIATE ACTION. *TR
WHEN FILLING GAS TANK WITH THE LOCK ON THE PUMP, THE PUMP DOESN'T SHUT OFF UNTIL IT HAS OVERFLOWED. THERE IS ALWAYS GAS ALL OVER THE GROUND WHEN FINISHED. THIS EVENT OCCURS APPROX 98% OF THE TIME. *TR
HELLO, OUR 2005 JEEP WRANGLER HAS AN ISSUE WITH GAS SPILLING OUT OF THE GAS TANK WHENEVER IT IS FILLED UP AT THE GAS STATION. A SIGNIFICANT VOLUME OF GASOLINE SPRAYS OUTWARD ONTO THE DRIVER, AND DOWN THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE, WHICH I BELIEVE MAY BE A SAFETY CONCERN. IT SEEMS THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW AND IS QUITE COMMON, AS I HAVE EVEN SEEN VIDEO DOCUMENTATION ON WEB SITES SUCH AS "YOUTUBE." *TR
2005 JEEP WRANGLER NEAR THE END OF FILLING UP GAS TANK ABOUT EVERY OTHER TIME THE PUMP CLICKS OFF AND THE FUEL FLOWS OUT OF FILLER NECK AND ALL OVER JEEP AND GROUND. THIS HAPPENS AT ANY GAS STATION AND IS HURTING PANT UNDER GAS CAP. *TR
I HAVE A 2005 JEEP TJ RUBICON, AND EVERYTIME I FILL MY GAS TANK IT OVER FLOWS SPILLING GAS ON THE JEEP AND GROUND. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID IT WAS A GAS TANK ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY. *TR
WHILE AT THE PUMP THE GAS NOZZLE KICKS OFF AND THEN ABOUT A PINT OF FUEL DUMPS OUT OF THE VEHICLE. THIS IS WIDELY KNOWN ON THE WRANGLERS, WITH THE OLDEST VEHICLE I'VE HEARD THIS HAPPENING TO IS FROM '98 AND NEWEST A 2009. JEEP REDESIGNED THE WRANGLER IN '97 INCLUDING THE FUEL SYSTEM, SO I'M SURE THERE'S A DEFECT IN THE FUEL SYSTEM. CHRYSLER'S ANSWER IS TO JUST REPLACE THE TANK WHICH WILL EVENTUALLY FAIL AGAIN. THIS CAN BE A SERIOUS HAZARD AND COULD EASILY CAUSE A FIRE. ONE GUY SAID IT DUMPED FUEL ON HIS BOOTS WHILE ANOTHER GUY HAD FUEL SPRAY HIM FROM HEAD TO TOE. I OWN A 2005 JEEP WRANGLER WITH 29,500 MILES ON IT. RECENTLY, THE FRONT-END HAS STARTED TO WOBBLE/SHAKE VIOLENTLY AT SPEEDS AROUND 40-45 MILES PER HOUR CAUSING NEAR LOSS OF CONTROL. WHEN IT HAPPENS, THE ONLY SOLUTION IS TO APPLY THE BRAKES AND COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. I HAVE CHECKED THE INTERNET AND IT APPEARS TO BE VERY COMMON, IN FACT, IT HAS BEEN LABELED THE "DEATH WOBBLE". PROBLEM IS, NO ONE SEEMS TO HAVE IDENTIFIED THE EXACT CAUSE OR FIX. SOME OF THE RECOMMENDATIONS INCLUDE: INSTALL AFTER-MARKET HEAVY STEERING STABILIZER (DID THAT, NO CHANGE), ALIGNMENT, WHEEL BALANCE, STEERING BOX, CAMBER ANGLE, ETC. ANY SUGGESTIONS? *TR
I HAVE ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS HAD FUEL OVERFLOW (ACTUALLY MORE SHOOT OUT) WHILE FUELING MY 2005 JEEP WRANGLER RUBICON. IT OCCURS AS THE FUEL IS NEARING FULL. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT MANY DIFFERENT FUELING LOCATIONS AND I ALWAYS PUMP ON THE LOWEST SETTING. I HAVE EVEN BEEN SPRAYED MANUALLY FILLING THE TANK. THE GAS TANK OVERFLOWS ON MY 2005 JEEP WRANGLER. *TR
I HAVE A 2005 JEEP WRANGLER ROCKY MOUNTAIN EDITION. EVERY FILL UP RESULTS IN AN OVERFLOW OF GAS BECAUSE THE NOZZLE DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY SHUT OFF UNTIL THE TANK OVERFLOWS. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR A FEW MONTHS AND WAS NEVER A PROBLEM BEFORE. *TR
I OWN A 2005 JEEP WRANGLER RUBICON. IT IS UNMODIFIED. IT WILL CONSISTENTLY OVERFLOW AT THE GAS PUMP IF I FILL THE TANK. THEREFORE, I MUST MONITOR THE PUMP CLOSELY AND STOP SHORT OF FILLING THE TANK TO AVOID THIS PROBLEM. SOMETHING IS NOT WORKING CORRECTLY. *TR
APPROXIMATELY 1 YEAR AGO MY 2005 JEEP WRANGLER BEGAN OVERFLOWING FROM THE FUEL INLET DURING REFUELING. IF I AM NOT CAREFUL DURING REFUELING FUEL WILL SPIT OUT FROM AROUND THE NOZZLE AND SPILL DOWN THE VEHICLE. I HAVE BEEN DOUSED WITH FUEL ON MY LEGS AND FEET. THE FUEL TANK AUTOMATIC CUT OFF DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. *TR
SINCE PURCHASING THE 2005 JEEP RUBICON FROM BENGAL MOTORS, KINGSTON NY A OFFICIAL CHRYSLER, JEEP DEALER IT HAS SPRAYED OUT GAS FROM THE FILLER EVERY TIME YOU FILL IT UP. NO MATTER HOW EASY YOU SQUEEZE THE HANDLE IT WILL SPRAY OUT EVERY TIME. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS DEFECT IN THIS VEHICLE. MY HAND KEEPS GETTING GAS ALL OVER IT AND THE GAS BURNS MY SKIN.
WHEN FILLING THE GAS TANK THE PUMP WILL NOT AUTOMATICALLY SHUT OFF AND THERE IS A HUGE SPRAY OF GASOLINE OUT OF THE TANK. THIS HAPPENS ALMOST EVERY TIME, YOU ARE FORCED TO LISTEN TO THE SOUND OF THE GAS AND JUDGE WHEN IT IS ABOUT TO SPILL OUT IN ORDER TO PREVENT IT. (NOTE: I NO LONGER OWN THIS VEHICLE, BUT I AM DOCUMENTING IT HERE SINCE I HAVE HEARD THAT IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM.) *TR
SIGNIFICANT FUEL SPILLAGE WHILE FUELING VEHICLE AT THE POINT OF GAS PUMP CUT-OFF. FUEL IS "BURPED" OUT OF THE FUEL FILLING PORT ON THE VEHICLE ONTO PUMP OPERATOR'S HANDS, ARMS, AND CLOTHING, IN ADDITION TO THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND FILL NOZZLE. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE IS FUELED NO MATTER WHERE IT IS FUELED, WHAT SPEED FUEL IS PUMPED AND WHETHER OR NOT THE NOZZLE IS BEING HAND OPERATED OR "AUTOMATICALLY" OPERATED. ON RESEARCH, THIS IS AN ENGINEERING FAILURE KNOWN BY CHRYSLER THAT IS DUE TO NON-ETHANOL RESISTANT PLASTICS BEING USED IN A CHECK VALVE CONTAINED IN THE FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY, CAUSING THE VALVE TO SWELL AND GET JAMMED WHEN FUEL CONTAINING ETHANOL IS USED IN THE VEHICLE. I WOULD THINK THAT DRIVERS, THEIR VEHICLES, AND THE GROUND BEING DOUSED WITH SIGNIFICANT QUANTITIES OF GASOLINE AT EVERY FUELING STOP WOULD QUALIFY AS A SAFETY ISSUE. *JS
WHEN I HIT SPEEDS OF 50MPH, MY JEEP WOBBLES TERRIBLY. I HAVE READ NUMEROUS REVIEWS AND COMPLAINTS THAT THIS IS NOT UNCOMMON AND IT EVEN HAS A NAME, THE "DEATH WOBBLE". WE ARE GOING TO PASS THE JEEP ONTO OUR 16 YR OLD DAUGHTER, BUT WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF IT IS GOING TO BE RECALLED OR IF IT IS FIXABLE. WHEN I FILL UP WITH GAS IT SPILLS OUT EVERYTIME. SOMETIMES IT HAS SO MUCH PRESSURE BUILT UP IT SPRAYS GAS ALL OVER THE PLACE. *TR
WHEN FILLING UP MY 2005 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED WITH FUEL, INSTEAD OF SHUTTING OFF THE FILLER NOZZLE, GASOLINE SHOOTS OUT OF THE GAS TANK FILLER NECK SPILLING GASOLINE ALL OVER THE JEEP AND THE SURROUNDING AREA. THIS HAPPENS EVERYTIME I REFUEL. *TR
I OWN A 2005 JEEP WRANGLER X MODEL. EVERY TIME I FILL UP AT THE GAS STATION, GAS WILL SPRAY PROFUSELY OUT OF THE FILLER NECK AT THE SAME TIME AS THE AUTOMATIC CUTOFF. I CANNOT FILL MY TANK WITHOUT GETTING SPRAYED. I KNOW SEVERAL PEOPLE WITH THE SAME MODEL VEHICLE THAT ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM, SO I DO NOT FEEL THAT THIS IS AN ISOLATED INCIDENT. *TR
2005 JEEP WRANGLER X GAS TANK AUTO-SHUT OFF MALFUNCTION THE AUTO-SHUT OFF OF THE GAS PUMP WHEN THE TANK IS DETECTED AS FULL HAS MALFUNCTIONED SEVERAL TIMES CAUSING AN OVERFLOW AND SPILLAGE OF GASOLINE WHEN RE-FUELING. THIS IS REGARDLESS OF THE GAS STATION (COMPANY) AND PUMP, IT APPEARS THE AUTO-SHUT OFF IS NOT WORKING CORRECTLY. THE VEHICLE IS LESS THAN 5 YEARS OLD AND HAS 52,000 MILES. *TR
WHEN FILLING UP MY 2005 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED. IT WILL CLICK THE HOSE OFF LETTING YOU KNOW THAT IT IS FULL THEN YOU GET A BACK SPLASH OF GAS ALL OVER THE SIDE OF THE JEEP AND GOES ON THE GROUND. IT HAPPENS EVER TIME I FILL THE JEEP. *TR
2005 JEEP WRANGLER WHEN FILLING THE FUEL TANK IT ALWAYS OVERFLOWS WHEN FULL. IT DOES NOT SHUT OFF AND SPILLS ONTO THE GROUND. THIS DID NOT ORIGINALLY DO THIS BUT HAS HAPPENED OVER TIME ON IT'S OWN. NOT ONLY IS THIS INCONVENIENT BUT IT IS ALSO DANGEROUS. AFTER TALKING WITH OTHER WRANGLER OWNERS AN AMAZING AMOUNT OF THEM ALSO EXPERIENCE THIS PROBLEM. *TR
ON 12/6/09, I PULLED THE LEVEL TO SWITCH TO HIGH BEAMS. I HEARD THE SWITCH CLICK TO HIGH BEAM AND THEN HEARD A CRACK. THE SWITCH WOULD NOT SWITCH BACK TO LOW BEAM. I TOOK THE SWITCH OUT OF THE VEHICLE ON 12/7/09. I CONTACTED MY DEALERSHIP ON 12/8/09. THEY STATED THERE ARE 1263 ON BACK ORDER IN THE UNITED STATES. THEY DID NOT HAVE ONE BUT WOULD ORDER ONE. THEY DID GIVE ME THE NAMES OF 2 DEALERSHIPS THAT SHOWED THEM IN STOCK. I CONTACTED ONE DEALERSHIP. THEY STATED THAT THEIRS WAS ORDERED FOR A CUSTOMER AND COULD NOT SELL IT TO ME. THE SECOND DEALERSHIP, DARCARS IN ROCKVILLE, MD, STATED THEY HAD ONE BUT WOULD NOT SELL IT TO ME. THEY SAID IT WAS FOR THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND HAD 9 ON BACKORDER FOR OTHER CUSTOMERS. I ATTEMPTED TO OPEN UP THE SWITCH TO TRY TO MANUALLY PUT IT BACK IN LOW BEAM. AT LEAST I COULD THEN DRIVE HE VEHICLE UNTIL THE NEW PART ARRIVES. I WAS NOT ABLE TO OPEN THE CASE ON THE SWITCH. I WOULD HAVE TO BREAK THE PLASTIC AND DID NOT WANT TO DO THAT. THE SWITCH IS CHRYSLER PART NUMBER 5016709AD. APPARENTLY, CHRYSLER IS HAVING AN ISSUE WITH ONE OF THEIR PARTS SUPPLIERS. THIS MUST BE A WIDESPREAD ISSUE IF THERE ARE 1263 PARTS ON BACKORDER. *TR
1. TWO MONTHS AGO WHILE AT THE GAS STATION FILLING THE TANK OF MY 2005 JEEP WRANGLER X, THE PUMP DID NOT SHUTOFF AND FUEL SPILLED. I THOUGHT THIS WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE STATIONS PUMP, SO I DECIDED TO TRY A DIFFERENT STATION FOR MY NEXT FILL-UP. A WEEK LATER; WHILE FILLING AT ANOTHER STATION THE SAME PROBLEM OCCURRED. 2. IN THE THREE INSTANCES THE OVER FLOW HAPPENED; I WAS HOLDING THE FILL HANDLE IN THE 6 O'CLOCK POSITION, THE NOZZLE WAS FULLY INSERTED INTO THE FILL HOLE, AND I HAD THE HANDLE FULLY DEPRESSED (NOZZLE WIDE OPEN). AS THE TANK REACHED FULL, IT DID NOT AUTOMATICALLY SHUTOFF, IT CONTINUED FILLING UNTIL ABOUT A QUART OF GASOLINE SPILLED ONTO THE SIDE OF MY VEHICLE AND THE GROUND. I HAVE CONTACTED CHRYSLER'S WARRANTY DEPARTMENT, SERVICE CONTRACTS DEPARTMENT, GOODWILL TEAM, AND SENIOR RESOLUTION TEAM TO MAKE THEM AWARE OF THE DEFECT AND REQUEST THEM TO TAKE ACTION. UNFORTUNATELY, I BELIEVE MY CALLS ARE BEING SIMPLY MARKED TO A CASE FILE AND NO INVESTIGATORY ACTION IS BEING TAKEN. I CAN EASILY SEE AN INCIDENT SUCH AS MINE LEADING TO INJURY OF AN UNKNOWING CHRYSLER OWNER. IF ANY STATIC CHARGE IS PRESENT (I.E. IN CLOTHING OR THE VEHICLE) WHEN THE OVERFLOW OCCURS THE GAS WILL IGNITE. THE PROBLEM POSES THE GREATEST THREAT WHEN IT HAPPENS THE FIRST TIME, BECAUSE THE OWNER WILL HAVE NO WARNING SIGNALS OF A FAILED PART(S) AND THEREFORE WILL NOT BE EXPECTING THE SPILL. 3. TO AVOID THIS PROBLEM FROM HAPPENING; I KNOW LONGER FILL MY TANK TO ITS' FULL 16 GALLON CAPACITY. I HAVE TAKEN MY VEHICLE TO THE LOCAL JEEP DEALERSHIP AND THEY HAVE ADVISED THAT I NEED TO REPLACE THE VAPOR CANISTER. *TR
JEEP WRANGLERS HAVE A COMMON ISSUE WHEN FILLING THE GAS TANK. FOR WHATEVER REASON (BAD PRESSURE RELEASE VALVE?) FILLING THE TANK WILL OFTEN RESULT IN FUEL SQUIRTING BACK OUT THE FILLER NECK ONCE IT IS FULL. THIS HAPPENS SUDDENLY, AND FUEL SHOOTS BACK OUT A GOOD DISTANCE, CAUSING A POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS CONDITION. I'VE SPOKEN WITH MANY OTHER JEEP WRANGLER OWNERS THAT ARE EXPERIENCING THIS ISSUE. *TR
WHILE REFUELING VEHICLE WHEN TANK REACHES ALMOST FULL GAS SURGES OUT OF FILL TUBE. I HAVE HEARD OF NUMEROUS WRANGLER OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. #1 THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS DUE TO THE POSSIBILITY OF FIRE AND #2 CANNOT BE FRIENDLY TO OUR ENVIRONMENT BY SPILLING ABOUT A QUART OF GASOLINE ON GROUND EVERYTIME I FILL UP. *TR

I WISH TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THE SEAT BELT MALFUNCTION IN MY 2005 JEEP WRANGLER TJ. WITH ONLY 16000 MILES THE RIGHT PASSENGER SEAT BELT WOULD NOT RETRACT ANYMORE AND IT APPEARS THAT THE PLASTIC SPACERS CAME APART. I REPLACED THE ENTIRE ASSEMBLY TO THE COST OF $325.00 FOR A NEW BELT ASSEMBLY. IF MY JEEP BELT IS DEFECTIVE ARE THERE MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE JEEP SEAT BELTS? *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 50 MPH WHEN THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE BEGAN SHAKING EXTREMELY VIOLENTLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS SO EXTREME THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD VENTURE OFF THE ROADWAY WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,000.
GAS TANK OVERFLOWS EVERYTIME I FILL THE TANK. EVERY GAS STATION I USE AND ANY SPEED I TRY TO FILL THE TANK AT. JUST STARTED ABOUT A MONTH AGO, PROBLEM WILL NOT GO AWAY, AND MAKES ME NERVOUS ABOUT FIRE/PERSONAL INJURY EVERY TIME I NEED GAS. *TR
FUEL SPILL WHILE REFILLING. THE PUMP DID NOT SHUT OFF WHILE FILLING WITH GAS. HAPPENS EVERYTIME I FILL UP ALL THE WAY.
2005 JEEP WRANGLER FUEL SPILLING WHEN FUELED. AT AROUND 20,000 MILES EVERY TIME I FILL UP THE TANK GAS IS SPIT OUT. I HAVE NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH ANY OTHER VEHICLE I HAVE DRIVEN. I EVEN TRIED RUNNING THE NOZZLE AT THE SLOWEST SPEED POSSIBLE, AND IT WILL STILL SPIT SOME OUT. TALKING TO OTHER JEEP OWNERS WE HAVE DETERMINED THAT THIS IS A MAJOR ISSUE EFFECTING MOSTLY 2004 WRANGLERS AND NEWER. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUE, IF NOT CAREFUL IT CAN COVER THE PERSON FUELING WITH GAS, AND OTHER PEOPLE IF THEY ARE CLOSE ENOUGH, AND IT WASTES PRECIOUS GAS. *TR
EVERYTIME THE GAS TANK IS FILLED UP, FUEL COMES LAUNCHING OUT FROM AROUND THE PUMP HANDLE SPRAYING ANYONE STANDING WITHIN A COUPLE OF FEET OF THE PUMP. THIS OCCURS EVERY TIME THE TANK IS FILLED, AT EVERY GAS STATION. JEEP HAS SUGGESTED A REPLACEMENT TANK, BUT WITH NO ASSURANCES THAT IT WILL SOLVE THE PROBLEM. THE RESULTS OF A ONLINE SEARCH INDICATES A REPLACEMENT TANK WILL NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM.
WHEN FILLING THE GAS TANK ON MY 2005 JEEP WRANGLER, I GET A BACK SPLASH OF GAS MORE OFTEN THAN NOT. I'VE TAKEN THE PRECAUTION OF SLOWING THE PUMP DOWN WHEN CLOSE TO FULL, BUT STILL SPILL GAS. WHENEVER I AM FILLING UP MY JEEP IT REGULARLY OVERFLOWS CAUSING FUEL TO SPILL ALL OVER MYSELF, VEHICLE, AND GROUND. IT TYPICALLY SPILLS FOR A FEW SECONDS UNTIL THE PUMP SHUTS OFF BUT IT IS A HASSLE, FIRE HAZARD, AND COSTLY. I AM AWARE OF MANY OTHER JEEP WRANGLER OWNERS THAT HAVE THIS PROBLEM. *KB
2005 JEEP WRANGLER LJ/TJ RUBICON UNLIMITED WHEN FILLING UP WITH GASOLINE THE TANK OVERFLOWS OUT OF THE VEHICLE SPRAYING ONTO THE OPERARTOR OF THE GAS PUMP AND FLOODING THE IMMEDIATE AREA AND ON THE GROUND. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND THE OPERATOR OF THE PUMP IS COVERED IN GAS AND FUMES THIS COULD CAUSE A FIRE AND DAMAGE TO THE SKIN AND EYES; IN WORSE CASE SCENARIO AN EXPLOSION IF A CELL PHONE IS IN ONES POCKET OR NEARBY. PLEASE RECALL THESE VEHICLES IMMEDIATELY; IT HAPPENS TO ALMOST EVERY JEEP WRANGLER AND EVENTUALLY WILL EFFECT ALL. THIS IS NOT FROM TOPPING OFF OR USING A HIGH PRESSURE GAS NOZZLE OR ONE GAS STATION. THIS HAPPENS NO MATTER WHERE I AM AND IF I DON'T TIME IF CORRECTLY GASOLINE WILL BE ALL OVER THE PLACE. ALTHOUGH NOT SERIOUS, AT ONE TIME GASOLINE DID SPRAY ENOUGH ON A WINDY DAY TO HIT ME IN THE EYE CAUSING A BURNING SENSATION AND REDNESS OBVIOUSLY I COULD NOT OPERATE THE VEHICLE FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES. IF A YOUNG CHILD IS NEAR BY THIS WOULD BE A SERIOUS ISSUE.

FILLING THE GAS TANK IN MY 2005 JEEP WRANGLER, IF I ALLOW THE PUMP TO ACTUALLY FILL IT UP (UNTIL YOU HEAR THE "CLICK" SOUND) JUST BEFORE THE CLICK GAS SPRAYS OUT OF THE FILLER NOZZLE (AT LEAST A COUPLE CUPS WORTH). 2. THIS HAPPENS EVERY SINGLE TIME I LET THE PUMP FILL MY TANK UNTIL FULL. I VERY QUICKLY LEARNED THAT I'D HAVE TO JUST ESTIMATE HOW MUCH GAS I NEEDED, ROUND DOWN, AND NOT FILL UP ALL THE WAY (MANUALLY). 3. I TOOK IT TO THE JEEP DEALER, AND THEY SAID THEY DIDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH MY FUEL FILLER OR TANK, DESPITE THIS BEING A WIDELY DOCUMENTED ISSUE ON WWW.JEEPFORUM.COM. ON A LATER PAGE IT KEPT SAYING IT WAS INVALID, EVEN THOUGH I KNOW THIS IS CORRECT. *TR
WHILE FILLING GAS TANK IN SAN DIEGO AT THE SAME LOCATION I HAD FILLED UP AT MANY TIMES THE FUEL PUMP KICKED OFF AND IN LESS THAN A SECOND LATER GAS CAME SQUIRTING OUT OF THE VENT HOLES WITH ENOUGH FORCE TO SPRAY GAS 3 - 4 FEET AWAY FROM THE CAR. I INITIALLY THOUGHT IT MAY BE A PROBLEM WITH THE PUMP BUT OVER THE LAST 10 MONTH THIS HAS OCCURRED AT MANY DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS. I HAVE ALSO TRIED FILLING AT THE LOWEST SPEED OF THE PUMP BUT IT WILL STILL SPRAY OUT. IT STOPPED FOR A MONTH OR SO BUT HAS STARTED UP AGAIN OVER THIS LAST MONTH. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS WHEN IT COMES OUT WITH ENOUGH FORCE TO GET INTO SOMEONE'S EYES OR POSSIBLY CAUSE A FIRE. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED MY SHIRT AND PANTS WERE SPRAYED WITH GAS. *TR

FRONT SEATBELTS FAIL TO RETRACT PROPERLY CAUSING THEM TO BECOME JAMMED BETWEEN THE DOORLOCK AND THE BODY LATCH. BELTS ARE BECOMING DAMAGED AND WEAKENED. THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM SINCE VEHICLE WAS NEW, SITUATION ONGOING. *TR
EVERY TIME I FILL MY 2005 JEEP WRANGLER, THE FULL HOSE WILL NOT SHUT OFF AND GAS SHOOTS OUT ALL OVER THE FENDER AND THE GROUND. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL SHOP WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE OIL PUMP DRIVE GEAR WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED BUT DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 49,000.
