THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE GAS TANK OVERFLOWING SINCE IT WAS ALMOST NEW. JEEP HAS REFUSED TO RECOGNIZE THAT THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW AND REFUSES TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE ENVIRONMENTAL AND SAFETY HAZARD THAT THIS FLAW CAUSES EACH AND EVERY TIME THESE JEEPS ARE FUELED UP. AT THE POINT OF FILLING UP, THE GAS TANK OVERFLOWS SENDING LARGE AMOUNTS OF GAS ON THE SIDE OF THE JEEP AND ONTO THE GROUND. THIS IS A TERRIBLE FIRE AND ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARD THAT COULD LEAD TO PUBLIC INJURY AND EVEN DEATH IF IT CAUSED A FIRE. I WOULD BE HAPPY TO PROVIDE A VIDEO OF THIS PROBLEM OCCURRING IF NEEDED TO GET THIS ADDRESSED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP WRANGLER LIMITED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN DRIVING 10 MPH AND ABOVE, THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE WOULD BOUNCE VIOLENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY THE DEALER AND THEY ADVISED HIM THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 5,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT IT TAKES A MINIMUM OF FOUR MEN TO REMOVE THE HARD TOP (FREEDOM TOP) FROM THE VEHICLE. THE TOP LEAKS WHEN IT RAINS OR WHEN THE VEHICLE IS WASHED. DAIMLER CHRYSLER STATED THAT IN ORDER TO GET THE VEHICLE INSPECTED, THE HARD TOP WOULD HAVE TO BE PLACED BACK ON THE VEHICLE. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO DO SO, THE TOP BECAME TOO HEAVY AND WAS DROPPED, RESULTING IN DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 4,000.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGH WAY AT 60MPH MY RADIO DIED FOR 3-5 SECONDS AND AFTER IT CAME BACK ON MY WHOLE ENGINE/ CAR DIED AND THE DASH LIGHTS LIT UP. WHEN I PUSHED THE CLUTCH IN AND RELEASED IT THE CAR CAME BACK ON. *TR
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
I WAS DRIVING ON A STREET CLOSE TO MY HOME ON A VERY SLIGHT INCLINE AND MY RADIO SHUT OFF, LIGHTS SHUT OFF, ALL WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON AND THEN APPROXIMATELY 5 SECONDS LATER ALL CAME BACK ON. (2007 JEEP WRANGLER X). *TR
I HAVE A WRANGLER BUILT IN 9/06 AND PURCHASED IN 11/06. IT HAS A STALLING ISSUE WHILE DRIVING, IT HAS HAD ALL THE RECALLS AND FLASHES DONE TO THE COMPUTER AS WELL AS THE DEALERSHIP REPLACING THE IGNITION SWITCH STATING THAT WAS THE CAUSE OF THE STALLING. I HAVE ALSO FILED 2 OTHER COMPLAINTS WITH THIS ORG. ON THIS..#10192506 ON 6/5 AND #10204419 ON 9/28. WHILE DRIVING TONIGHT AT A STEADY 70 MPH. THE ENGINE CUT OUT, STALLED THEN RE-STARTED ! LUCKILY MY PREGNANT WIFE WAS NOT IN THE CAR. I HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN BEFORE NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WENT IN FOR THE LAST RECALL ON THIS, AND THIS IS THE THIRD TIME IT HAS STALLED SINCE THE "FIX" AND THIS IS THE SECOND TIME IT HAS HAPPENED AT NIGHT ON THE HIGHWAY...I THINK ANYONE WOULD BELIEVE A VEHICLE STALLING AND LOSING LIGHTS AT NIGHT DOING @70MPH IS VERY DANGEROUS. ALL I WANT IS A VEHICLE THAT I CAN DEPEND ON, I WILL STATE AGAIN I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE BRAND NEW AND THE ENGINE IS STILL STALLING WHILE DRIVING, AND THIS IS THE 3RD TIME SINCE THE MANUFACTURES RECALL COMPUTER "FLASH FIX" . TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP WRANGLER. THE DEALER HAS HAD THE VEHICLE FOR 15 DAYS. IT IS BEING SERVICED FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 07V434000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:ANTILOCK:CONTROL UNIT/MODULE). THE DEALER STATED THAT THE PART WAS UNAVAILABLE AND WOULD KEEP THE VEHICLE UNTIL IT ARRIVED. THERE HAD BEEN NO FAILURE TO DATE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 6,000.
FUEL OVERFLOWS WHENEVER PUMP IS LEFT ON "FILL." THIS OCCURS EVERY TIME I FILL THE VEHICLE WITH GASOLINE. FOR THE LAST 3 YEARS I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT THEY CAN'T FIND ANY PROBLEM. I NOW JUST ADD A FEW DOLLARS WORTH OF GAS AT A TIME SO I KNOW IT WON'T HIT THE SHUT OFF POINT & OVERFLOW. *TR
HOOD POPS UP AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS DUE TO INADEQUATE, UNSAFE RUBBER HOOD LATCHES. AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE TWO RUBBER HOOD STRAPS ARE NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO HOLD THE HOOD CLOSED. ON TWO LANE ROADS, THE AIR TURBULENCE FROM LARGE ONCOMING VEHICLES WILL CAUSE THE HOOD TO LIFT APPROXIMATELY TWO INCHES UNTIL THE SAFETY LATCH ENGAGES. THIS CAUSES A DANGEROUS DISTRACTION WHEN THE HOOD RISES AND THEN SLAMS DOWN AFTER THE ONCOMING VEHICLE PASSES. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP WRANGLER 2-DR 4X4. THE CONTACT STATED MAYBE THERE WAS A SAFETY DEFECT ON HIS VEHICLE. THE REAR BRAKE LINE, WHICH IS LOCATED ON BOTH SIDES OF THE VEHICLE, WAS NOT SECURED WITHIN THE WHEEL. THE LINES WERE LOCATED NEAR THE TIRES AND RIMS. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 832. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT PASSENGERS CANNOT SAFELY ENTER THE VEHICLE BECAUSE OF HOW THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SEAT RECLINES FORWARDS AND BACKWARDS. HE ALSO STATED THAT THE FLOOR SPACING WAS TOO SMALL FOR THE PASSENGERS TO ENTER THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT HAS NOT NOTIFIED THE DEALER. THERE HAD BEEN NO FAILURE TO DATE. THE POWERTRAIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 3,400.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE BRAKES. THE THROTTLE CONTROL AND ESP WARNING INDICATOR LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED TO THE SIDE AND RESTARTED. THE WEATHER WAS VERY WINDY. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 26,000. 2007 JEEP WRANGLER. HAS HAD THE ENGINE STALL ISSUE, IN FOR TSB ON THIS ISSUE-VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. DEALERSHIP THEN LATER SAID IT WAS STALLING DUE TO IGNITION SWITCH AFTER A FEW MORE STALLING INCIDENTS. THEY REPLACED THE SWITCH, THEN MANUFACTURER ISSUED A RECALL IN JULY FOR THIS ISSUE, THE RECALL WAS DONE. TODAY 9/27 THE EXACT STALL WHILE DRIVING HAPPENED AGAIN, VEHICLE SHUTS DOWN WHEN DRIVING, LOSING ALL POWER/LIGHTS/STEERING/BRAKES. *JB
WE HAVE A 2007 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED. EVERY TIME WE HIT A POTHOLE OR BUMP IN THE ROAD, THE CAR DOES THIS SHAKE AND YOU LOSE CONTROL. THIS HAS HAPPENED SINCE WE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE IN 2007 AT LEAST 1 TIME A WEEK. I AM LUCK I HAVE NOT CRASHED YET. *TR
2007 JEEP WRANGLER WITH LATE MARCH 2007 BUILD DATE IS EXPERIENCING STALL FAILURES OF THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. WHILE BRAKING AT A STOP SIGN, MY JEEP STALLED OUT AND WITHIN A COUPLE OF SECONDS CAME BACK ON. DURING THIS STALL PERIOD, BOTH STEERING AND BRAKING ARE SEVERELY NEGATIVELY INFLUENCED. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP WRANGLER. AN ALARM TECHNICIAN INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE AIR BAG KNEE BOLSTERS WERE NOT INSTALLED IN THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE OWNER'S MANUAL INDICATED THAT THEY WERE STANDARD AND SHOULD COME EQUIPPED WITH THE KNEE BOLSTERS. THE CONTACT FILED TWO COMPLAINTS WITH DAIMLER CHRYSLER (16465025 AND 16695953) IN JULY AND SEPTEMBER OF 2007. ON JULY 5, 2007, A REPRESENTATIVE FROM DAIMLER CHRYSLER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SHOULD HAVE BEEN EQUIPPED WITH THE AIR BAG KNEE BOLSTERS AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE. THE SERVICE MANAGER STATED THAT THE KNEE BOLSTERS WERE NOT STANDARD FOR HIS VEHICLE AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 79.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE ADDING FUEL TO THE TANK AND IT REACHED THE CAPACITY, THE FUEL BEGAN TO SPILL OUT OF THE TANK SPLASHING ONTO THE CONTACT THE GROUND. THE CONTACT HAS CALLED THE MANUFACTURER REGARDING THE GAS TANK AND THE MANUFACTURER STATED THEY WEREN'T AWARE OF ANY RELATED FAILURES. THE CONTACT HAS MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC TEST DONE ON THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT IS CONCERNED THAT THE FAILURE COULD CAUSE A FIRE TO OCCUR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46,804.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE OPERATING THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS, THE MOTOR FAILED. THERE WAS BLACK SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE DASHBOARD UPON FAILURE. THE CONTACT MADE THE NECESSARY REPAIRS TO THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AT HIS OWN EXPENSE. HE ALSO STATED THE FUEL TANK WAS DEFECTIVE AND TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE FUEL TANK SKID PLATE WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE REPAIR WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AND THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000 AND THE APPROXIMATE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 28,000.
WHILE NEGOTIATING A RIGHT HAND CURVE ON A LOCAL TOWN ROAD IN MY 07 JEEP WRANGLER X, 2-DR, THE DASHBOARD LIT UP AND THE ENGINE STALLED FOR APPROX. 2 SECONDS AND THEN RESTARTED ITSELF FOR NO APPARENT REASON. THIS CAUSED A LOSS OF POWER STEERING (I ASSUME) AS STEERING/CONTROLLING THE VEHICLE BECAME VERY DIFFICULT. I WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 35 MPH WITH NO PASSENGERS. THIS VEHICLE HAS A BUILD DATE OF 04/17/07 AND WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW FROM A JEEP DEALER ON 07/02/07. THE VEHICLE HAD 4166 MILES ON THE ODOMETER WHEN THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED. AFTER CHECKING DAIMLERCHRYSLER SAFETY RECALL G25, REPROGRAM TIPM - ENGINE STALLING DATED JULY 2007, I SEE THAT ALTHOUGH I HAVE THE EXACT SYMPTOMS LISTED, THE BUILD DATE OF MY VEHICLE FALLS OUTSIDE THE DATE LISTED IN THE RECALL (01-22-07). OBVIOUSLY THIS NEEDS TO BE UPDATED. THIS CAN ALSO BE VERIFIED VIA THE FOLLOWING INTERNET FORUM THREAD: "HTTP://WWW.JK-FORUM.COM/SHOWTHREAD.PHP?T=2366" THIS FORUM INCLUDES QUITE A FEW OWNERS THAT HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE INCLUDING MANY THAT; 1) HAVE HAD THE RECALL PROCEDURE PERFORMED ALREADY; 2) HAVE A VEHICLE OUTSIDE OF THE SPECIFIED BUILD DATE; OR 3) ACTUALLY OWN A 2008 MODEL YEAR JEEP WRANGLER. IT SEEMS THE RECALL PROCEDURE OR "FIX" DOES NOT ACTUALLY CORRECT THIS ISSUE AND THAT THE RECALL SHOULD BE EXPANDED TO INCLUDE LATER BUILD DATES. LUCKILY I WAS DRIVING IN A SLOWER, LOW TRAFFIC, LESS HAZARDOUS SITUATION DURING MY FIRST INCIDENT BUT NOW I AM CONCERNED THAT IF THIS OCCURS AGAIN DURING FASTER, HIGHWAY USE OR IN A BUSY INTERSECTION AND WITH FAMILY MEMBERS/PASSENGERS THE OUTCOME COULD BE DISASTROUS. WHEN MERGING INTO TRAFFIC GETTING ON THE FREEWAY, MY ENGINE DOES NOT RESPOND TO THROTTLE INPUT AS I TRY TO ACCELERATE. THE TACHOMETER AND SPEEDOMETER SEEM TO LOCK UP AS THE VEHICLE QUITS RESPONDING TO DRIVER COMMANDS. THIS PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED TWICE IN THE FIRST 1000 MILES SINCE BEING PURCHASED. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING UP A STEEP HILL AT APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, THE CONTACT CONTINUOUSLY APPLIED PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE PEDAL WOULD VIBRATE AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SLOW DOWN. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS, THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL DOWN TO THE FLOOR IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE. NO WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO A MALFUNCTION OF THE WIRING IN THE ABS. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. ON A SEPARATE OCCASION, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR AN IDENTICAL FAILURE AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO DETECT THE MALFUNCTION. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 12,300.
2007 JEEP WRANGLER RECALL REPAIRS NEEDED TO BE DONE. CUSTOMER STATES THAT HE LIVES ON AN ISLAND AND IT WILL COST HIM A GREAT AMOUNT OF MONEY TO HAVE THE VEHICLE BROUGHT BACK TO THE MAINLAND FOR THE REPAIRS TO BE DONE. *KB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE STOPPING DISTANCE INCREASED WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE ALSO OCCURRED THE FOLLOWING DAY WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH. THE ROAD CONDITIONS WERE CLEAR. HE FURTHER STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 2 MPH, THE VEHICLE VEERED TO THE RIGHT. THE DEALER ADJUSTED THE TIRE PRESSURE. IN ADDITION, THERE WAS A FIVE SECOND DELAY WHEN HE STARTED THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR CONDITIONER AND RADIO WORKED INTERMITTENTLY. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE ANY OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 900 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 1,702.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SHOOK VIOLENTLY AFTER HE RAN OVER A BUMP IN THE ROAD. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE STEERING DAMPNER CAUSED THE FAILURE AND THEY MADE THE REPLACEMENT. APPROXIMATELY SIX MONTHS LATER THE FAILURE OCCURRED AGAIN WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH. AS OF MARCH 18, 2008, THE DEALER HAD NOT INSPECTED THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 26,600. I PURCHASED A 2007 JEEP WRANGLER RUBICON NEW. SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASE, I DISCOVERED THAT GASOLINE WOULD FREQUENTLY OVERFLOW THE FILLER PORT WHEN FUELING THE VEHICLE. FOR SOME REASON, ONCE THE PUMP SHUTS OFF, FUEL OVERFLOWS THE PORT AND FLOWS OVER THE SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND ONTO THE GROUND. *KB

THE DEALERS VERIFIED WITH A ROAD TEST THAT THE ANTI-SKID DOES ACTIVATE AT APPROXIMATELY 25-35 MPH, BUT NO REPAIRS HAVE BEEN MADE.
