AFTER SERVICE AT THE DEALERSHIP, WHILE TRAVELING HOME, THE VEHICLE STALLED TWICE AT HIGHWAY SPEED (55 MPH). WHEN THE VEHICLE (2007 JEEP WRANGLER) STALLED I LOST ALL POWER INCLUDING ELECTRICTRONICS AND LIGHTS. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED BUT I FEEL THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS TO BRING IT IN IF THIS HAPPENS AGAIN. I NOTICED ON YOUR WEBSITE THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM SO I WANTED TO REPORT IT. THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT INVOLVED BUT A COUPLE OF CLOSE CALLS.
DRIVING MY 2007 2 DOOR JEEP WRANGLER AUTOMATIC IT SUDDENLY STALLED AT 50 MPH. THE DASH LIGHTS ALL CAME ON AND THE ENGINE REVVED AS IF IT WAS IN NEUTRAL FOR A FEW SECONDS THEN EVERYTHING CAME BACK TO NORMAL AND IT DROVE HOME WITH NO PROBLEMS. *TR
I EXITED THE HIGHWAY ON TO THE RAMP DOING 35MPH AND IN THE TURN I LOST ALL POWER,THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN,WITHIN A FEW SECONDS ALL THE DASH LIGHTS CAME ON AND THE ENGINE RESTARTED. I ALMOST LOST CONTROL BUT IT RESTARTED IN TIME. I TALKED TO THE DEALER ABOUT THIS BUT THEY TOLD ME THEY KNOW NOTHING OF THIS. *TR
AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT AND CHIME WITH NO KNOWN DAMAGE TO VEHICLE.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP WRANGLER 4X4 RHD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HIS VEHICLE COULD CAUSE A CRASH, ACCORDING TO RECALL NUMBER 07V291000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY WAITING TO BE REPAIRED. HE ALSO STATED THAT THE ENGINE HAS SHUT OFF ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH. THE PURCHASE DATE WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 5,800.
WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS-OCCURRED AT 8500 -13400 MILES, AND AGAIN AT 26400 MILES. AT 70 MPH VEHICLE SHUDDERED -LOST ELECTRICAL POWER, LASTS ABOUT 2 SECONDS AND ALL LIGHTS ,THEN LIGHT ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, AND VEHICLE BEGAN TO OPERATE AGAIN. I NOTICED EACH TIME BEFORE IT HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING IN TOWN IT HAD A VERY ROUGH IDLE AT STOP SIGNS. SCARED ME VERY BADLY EACH TIME. *AK
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THERE WAS A BUMP IN THE ROAD WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO SHAKE AND THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE STEERING WHEEL. THE SHAKING WAS STOPPED BY APPLYING THE BRAKES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO BE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000.
IGNITION STICKS. CD PLAYER (6 DISC CHANGER) FAILED IN 1ST MONTH OF OWNERSHIP AND LESS THAN 1,000 MILES. WAS REPLACED BUT ALL OF MY CD'S ARE IN PLAYER AND MAY NOT BE RETURNED. SUDDEN ENGINE/ELECTRICAL FAILURE WITH SPONTANEOUS RESTART WHILE DRIVING APPROX 45 MPH. *TR
I'VE EXPERIENCED SOME ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH MY 2007 JEEP WRANGLER X. ON FOUR SEPARATE OCCASSIONS THE IGNITION HAS STUCK IN THE STARTING POSTION. SECOND, AND MOST DISTURBING, MY JEEP LOST POWER AND THE ALL THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS LIT UP, WHILE TRAVELING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 60-65MPH. I TALK TO THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT THE IGNITION ISSUE, WHICH THEY STATED THEY COULD NOT RE-CREATE, THEREFORE COULD NOT DIAGNOSE. MY JEEP ONLY HAS 1,700 MILES. BELOW IS THE DATE OF THE MAJOR INCIDENT.
2007 JEEP WRANGLER 2 DOOR. STALLS. LOSES ALL ENGINE AND ELECTRICAL POWER. HAS HAPPENED ON FIVE OCCASIONS. ON THE LAST OCCASION I WAS IN A MAJOR INTERSECTION AND WAS ALMOST BROADSIDED WHEN THE LIGHT CHANGED AND I WAS CAUGHT IN THE ONCOMING FLOW OF TRAFFIC. BRANDON, FLORIDA DEALERSHIP DENIES THAT SUCH AN OCCURRENCE IS POSSIBLE OR REPAIRABLE BECAUSE THEY "ARE UNABLE TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM." VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP THREE TIMES FOR THIS PROBLEM TO NO AVAIL.
I HAD JUST EXITED THE FREEWAY AFTER DRIVING ABOUT 28 MILES AND WHILE GETTING OF THE RAMP INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC I HAD A CPMPLETE LOSS OF POWER LASTING A FEW MINUTES. NOTHING WORKED, BRAKES AND STEERING INCLUDED. I MANAGED TO ROLL OFF THE ROAD WITHOUT GETTING HIT AND SAT FOR A FEW MINUTES AND MY JEEP RESTARTED LIKE NOTHING EVER HAPPENED. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THE NEXT DAY ALONG WITH A PRINT OUT OF THIS INVESTIGATION. NO MILES WERE PUT ON MY JEEP BUT THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T RE-CREATE THE INCIDENT AND STATED THEY RESET A POWER STEERING CHIP THAT THE MANUFATURER RECOMMENDED. THE STALL HAS NOT REOCCURED IN THREE WEEKS BUT TONIGHT WHILE DRIVING HOME MY STABILITY CONTROLL LIGHT CAME ON AND WONT SHUT OFF. I WASN'T EVEN MOVING WHEN IT CAME ON I WAS AT A LIGHT. I HAVE ALSO HAD EPISODES OF MY STABILITY CONTROLL COMING ON AND LOCKING MY BRAKED ON DRY ROADS. AGAIN THE DEALER FOUND NOTHING WRONG.
I WAS DRIVING AT ABOUT 35 MPH, AND I BEGIN TO DECREASE SPEED SINCE I WAS ARRIVING AT A LIGHT. THE CAR WENT OFF FOR 1 SECOND. RADIO/ENGINE WENT OFF AND THE CAR RESTARTED ITSELF ALL THE LIGHTS CAME ON, ETC. THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME IT HAPPEND. FIRST AT ABOUT 2500 MILES. THIS SECOND ONE AT 8529.*AK
2007 JEEP JK WRANGLER 6 SPEED 2080 MILES ON THE ODOMETER AS I WAS TRAVELLING AT APPROXIMATELY 40MPH, I LOST ALL POWER TO THE VEHICLE FOR A SPLIT SECOND. THE RADIO TURNED OFF AND ALL OF THE WARNING LIGHTS ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIT UP. THE ENGINE DID NOT STOP RUNNING, HOWEVER, IT WAS UNRESPONSIVE. A SECOND LATER, THE LIGHTS WENT OFF, THE RADIO CAME ON AND EVERYTHING WAS FINE. ALL OF THIS AT 40 MPH IN 4TH GEAR.
JEEP STALLED IN TRAFFIC, ENGINE CUT OFF...DASHBOARD LIGHTS LIT UP...HAD TO RESTART. *TR
BRAND NEW 2007 JEEP WRANGLER WITH 6,300 MILES. KEY BECAME LODGED IN IGNITION AND WOULD NOT COME OUT. CAR COULD NOT BE COMPLETELY SHUT OFF SO BATTERY DRAIN OCCURRED. TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. THEY KEPT THE CAR TO WORK ON IT WITHOUT OFFERING A LOANER. JUST WANTED TO REPORT THIS IN CASE THERE ARE OTHER INSTANCES OF KEYS BECOMING LODGED IN IGNITIONS OF NEW CHRYSLER / JEEP PRODUCTS. *TR
2007 JEEP WRANGLER SAHARA FAULTY T-TOP CLASP CUSTOMER STATES T-TOP FLEW OFF INTO ON-COMING TRAFFIC WHEN DRIVING**SB THE CONSUMER STATED THAT JEEP LIBERTY IS NOT LIVING UP TO ITS FIVE STAR NAME AND WOULD LIKE THEM TO INVESTIGATE THE T TOPS WITH A GUARANTEE IN WRITING AND RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST OF NEW T-TOPS. THE CONSUMER PROVIDED PICTURES OF DEFECT AND PLACE WHERE INCIDENT OCCURRED. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT THE TOPS HAD CRACKS IN THEM AND THAT SOMEONE MUST HAVE DROPPED THEM. THE CONSUMER WAS AWARE THEY HAD CRACKS BECAUSE IT FLEW OFF INTO THE ROAD. THE CONSUMER REQUESTED THAT ALL OF THE LATCHES BE CHECKED. THE CONSUMER NOTICED THAT WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED THE PASSENGER SIDE LATCH HAD BEEN ADJUSTED. *TR
DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY NORMAL TRAFFIC CONDITIONS. VEHICLE SHUT OFF AT 65MPH ON HIGHWAY WITH LOSS OF ALL ELECTRICAL.
1) THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY PROGRAM LIGHT HAS COME ON AND STAYED ON 3 TIMES OVER THE LAST COUPLE OF WEEKS ON MY 2007 JEEP WRANGLER. 2) YESTERDAY, WHILE TRAVELING AT FREEWAY SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED MOMENTARILY, BUT RESTARTED. IN SURPRISE, I SWERVED A LITTLE BIT, BUT NOT ENOUGH TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. AS I UNDERSTAND IT, OTHER '07 WRANGLERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS AS WELL AND IT HAS GOTTEN PROGRESSIVELY WORSE. THIS SEEMS TO BE A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUE THAT COULD RESULT IN A CRASH. 3) I CONTACTED MY DEALER TODAY TO TAKE A LOOK AT MY VEHICLE TOMORROW. I DESCRIBED THE ISSUE, BUT THEY SEEMED UNFAMILIAR WITH IT. *TR
MY 2007 JEEP WRANGLER JK HAS STALLED AND LOST ALL ELECTRICAL TWICE NOW. THIS IS MY SECOND COMPLAINT ABOUT THE JK. THE STALL OCCURRED ONCE AT HIGHWAY SPEED AND MOST RECENTLY WHILE ACCELERATING. WHEN THE STALL OCCURS, ALL ENGINE AND ALL ELECTRICAL FUNCTION CEASE FOR ABOUT 3-4 SECONDS. IT'S AS IF I TURNED THE KEY TO THE OFF POSITION. THEN ALL THE DASH LIGHTS ILLUMINATE AND THE ENGINE SEEMS TO RESTART ON ITS OWN (THIS MAY BE DUE TO THE FACT I HAVE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND THE WHEELS ARE ROLLING). I KNOW OF AT LEAST 60 PEOPLE WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS ISSUE. THIS IS NOT ONLY AN INCONVENIENCE BUT EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. WHEN I EXPERIENCED THE STALL THE FIRST TIME I ALMOST WENT INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THE SECOND STALL HAD TRAFFIC SKIDDING TO STOP BEHIND ME AS THE JEEP LOST POWER AND ELECTRICAL WHILE I WAS ACCELERATING INTO TRAFFIC. I'VE TALKED TO A FEW DEALERS AND THEY HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF THE ISSUE AND CAN OFFER NO REASONS AS TO WHY THE STALL IS OCCURRING. THIS IS DUE TO THE DEALERS NOT RECEIVING ANY TECHNICAL BULLETIN''S CONCERNING AN ISSUE OR EVEN A POTENTIAL ISSUE FROM DAIMLER CHRYSLER. THIS INDICATES TO ME ABSOLUTELY NOTHING IS BEING DONE AT THE DAIMLER CHRYSLER CORPORATE OFFICES. I AM A HUGE FAN OF JEEP AND HAVE OWNED THREE WRANGLERS IN THE PAST. I HATE THE FACT THAT MOST RECENT WRANGLER HAS THE POTENTIAL OF CAUSING A VERY SERIOUS ACCIDENT.
FUEL SPLASH OUT OF FILLER HOLE, APX 1 PINT. HAPPENS EVERY TIME I FILL UP. *TR
FUEL SPITBACK. WHEN FILLING 2007, JEEP, WRANGLER IT ALWAYS SPITS BACK OUT OF THE FILLER WHEN USING AUTOMATIC FILL ON HANDLE OF GAS PUMP. IF I HAND FILL IT AND LISTEN VERY CAREFULLY I CAN HEAR THE FUEL RISING IN THE FILLER NECK AN STOP THE SPLASHBACK ABOUT HALF OF THE TIME.
STARTING FROM THE FIRST TIME I FILLED MY GAS TANK ON MY 2007 JEEP WRANGLER 2 DOOR XS PACKAGE, EVERY TIME I FILL OR COME CLOSE TO FILLING THE GAS TANK AND THE PUMP AUTOMATICALLY SHUTS OFF THE FUEL SPILLS/ AND OR SPRAYS OUT OF THE FUEL FILLING TUBE. MANY TIMES IT HAS SPRAYED ME OR WHOEVER IS PUMPING THE GAS. *TR
VEHICLE WAS SET ON CRUISE AT 45MPH AND SUDDENLY SUFFERED A COMPLETE POWER LOSS AND STALLED. NO EQUIPMENT WAS FUNCTIONAL IN THE VEHICLE, INCLUDING GAUGES, HEADLIGHTS, RADIO, ETC. AS THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WAS STILL IN DRIVE, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED VERY SUDDENLY UNTIL POWER WAS RESTORED APPROXIMATELY 3-4 SECONDS LATER, AT WHICH POINT THE VEHICLE RESTARTED ITSELF. POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES WERE ALSO AFFECTED DURING THIS POWER LOSS, AND NEITHER WAS FUNCTIONAL. BATTERY CABLES DO NOT APPEAR LOOSE AND THERE IS NO OTHER INDICATION OF LOOSE WIRING. *TR
I AM THE OWNER OR A 2007 JEEP WRANGLER X 4X4 6SPD. THE VEHICLE HAS APPROX 2,600 MILES ON IT. ON MAY 30TH I WAS DRIVING IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA WHEN I WAS APPROACHING A STOP SIGN. I WAS ON MY WAY TO GET GAS AND MY GAS LIGHT WAS ON (I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS IS RELEVANT OR NOT BUT I WILL REPORT IT). WHILE APPROACHING THE STOP SIGN, WITH THE CLUTCH PEDAL PUSHED TO THE FLOOR AT ABOUT 3 MPH THE VEHICLE JUST STALLED. NO REAL WARNING JUST A FLASH OF THE RADIO LIGHTS AND DASH LIGHTS AND THE VEHICLE DIED. I THOUGHT IT HAD RUN OUT OF GAS BUT IT STARTED RIGHT BACK UP. THEN I THOUGHT POSSIBLY THE GAS WAS VERY LOW BUT THERE WERE STILL 2 GALLONS LEFT IN THE TANK AS I FOUND OUT WHEN I FILLED UP THE TANK 2 MINUTES LATER. AFTER THIS HAPPENED I RESEARCHED THIS "STALL" A LITTLE MORE ONLINE. I CAME ACROSS JK-FORUM.COM AND THIS WAS NOT JUST AN ISOLATED INCIDENT. THIS IS A VERY WIDE SPREAD PROBLEM IN WHICH THE DEALERS POKE AND HOPE WITH THEIR REPAIRS AND THEY DO NOT WORK. THIS IS A VERY BIG SAFETY ISSUE. I THINK ABOUT IT EVERYTIME I SET IN MY VEHICLE NOW WAITING FOR IT TO STALL IN AN EVEN WORSE SITUATION SUCH AS A HIGHWAY OFF OR ON RAMP OR SOMETHING. CHRYSLER MUST BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR FINDING A FIX ASAP IN MY OPINION. *TR
IT HAPPENS TO A 2007 JEEP WRANGLER, 2 DR, 6-SP MANUAL. I WAS DOING CITY DRIVING, AND WAS SHIFTING FROM 2ND TO 3RD GEAR, WHEN SUDDENLY ALL LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD TURNED ON, AND THE RADIO CUT OFF, ENGINE STALL FOR A SPLIT SECOND, AND TURN BACK ON TO NORMAL. DEALER DID A TSB ON THIS BUT DOESN'T SOLVE THE PROBLEM. *TR

VEHICLE STALLS OUT, ALL "IDIOT" LIGHTS GO ON, HEADLIGHTS AND OTHER LIGHTING GO OFF, THEN VEHICLE RESTARTS, HAS HAPPENED A FEW TIMES, AND HAS HAPPENED AFTER DEALERSHIP "FIXED" WITH A MANUFACTURER ISSUED TSB, ON THIS LAST DATE I WAS DRIVING AT NIGHT ON THE HIGHWAY @ 70MPH ! LOST ALL LIGHTS AND POWER. AND THIS IS ONLY ONE OF THE ISSUES WITH THIS 2007 VEHICLE I PURCHASED IN NOV ! I EVEN HAVE A CASEMANAGER THOUGHT THE MANUF. FOR A ROOF LEAK THAT THEY HAVE TRIED TO FIX 5 TIMES AND IT STILL LEAKS. *TR

WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE 2007 WRANGLER LOST ALL ELECTRICAL POWER WITH THE ENGINE STALLED AT THE SAME TIME. THE PROBLEM LASTED FOR ABOUT 3-SECOND BEFORE ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD ILLUMINATED AT ONCE AND THE ENGINE RESTARTED. THIS HAS OCCURRED 3-TIMES SO FAR, ANDWAS OBVIOUSLY A SAFETY CONCERN AS CONTROL AND BRAKING OF THE VEHICLEWAS LOST WITH NO POWER STEERING AND ABS . *AK
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING OR IDLING, THE INTERIOR DOME LIGHT, INSTRUMENT PANEL, AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FAILS. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE SHUTS OFF. THE CONTACT HAS SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 21,000.
I HAVE A JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED SAHARA 4WD, BOUGHT NEW IN MAY 2007. SINCE THE 1ST DAY, IF I CLOSE ALL WINDOWS AT THE SAME TIME, THE RADIO POWER CYCLES. THIS HAPPENS 90%+ OF THE TIME WHEN I DO IT. *TR

THE VEHICLE FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. THE ENGINE SIZE WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 5,800 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,000.
VEHICLE: 2007 JEEP WRANGLER 2-DOOR 4X4. THE VEHICLE VIBRATION (FRONT END(?)) HAS EXISTED SINCE PURCHASED IN MARCH 2007 AND WAS REPORTED TO THE DEALERSHIP AT FIRST SERVICE AND SUBSAQUENT SERVICES. AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE VEHICLE DEVELOPES A VIBRATION BEGINNING AT 60 MPH THROUGH 65 MPH AND ENDING AT 70 MPH. THE DEALERSHIP HAS REPEATEDLY BALANCED ALL THE TIRES AND STATES THEY ARE WITHIN TOLERANCE. IN JUNE 2008 THE CHRYSLER AREA REPRESENTATIVE CAME AND TOOK THE VEHICLE FOR TEST DRIVES AS WELL AS OTHER LIKE VEHICLES OFF THE LOT. ALL TESTED HAD VIBRATIONS AT APPROXIMATELY THE SAME SPEEDS. IN JULY 2008 CHRYSLER SENT A SUPER TECH. WHO ALSO TOOK THE VEHICLE FOR A TEST DRIVE AS WELL AS OTHER NEW LIKE VEHICLES OFF THE LOT AND THE PROBLEM EXISTED IN ALL VEHICLES. THE CONCLUSION BY BOTH CHRYSLER REPRESENTATIVES IS THAT THE VEHICLE VIBRATION PROBLEM THAT I EXPERANCE IN MY 2007 WRANGLER 2-DOOR 4X4 IS IN FACT INHERENT TO THIS PRODUCT LINE. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE FOR THE PURPOSE OF PULLING IT FOUR WHEELS DOWN BEHIND A MOTORHOME AND AT THE 60-65 MPH SPEED RANGE, WHICH IS THE BEST ECOMOMY ZONE FOR A MOTORHOME. A PROBLEM AS I DESCRIBED ABOVE OCCURING AT HIGHWAY SPEED COULD ADVERSELY AFFECT THE HANDLING OF THE VEHICLE DURING PERIODS OF LIMITED TRACTION, WHICH COULD POTENTIALLY RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT ENDANGERING THE LIVES OF THE OCCUPANTS AND OTHERS ON THE ROADWAY. *TR
HOOD RAISES UP ABOUT 2 INCHES AND THE SAFETY CATCH HOLDS THE HOOD DOWN WHEN A SEMI TRUCK IS COMING FROM THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION OR ON WINDY DAYS. THE CAUSES A BIG DISTRACTION WHEN IT LOOKS AS IF THE HOOD IS GOING TO FLY UP ON A REGULAR BASIS. *TR DEALERSHIP ADVISED THAT THERE IS NOT A RECALL ON THE HOOD LATCHES.
AT APPROXIMATELY 3,000 MILES VEHICLE STALLED WHILE DRIVING UP A HILL AT 45 MPH. RADIO TURNED OFF, LOST CONTROL OF STEERING, ALL LIGHTS LIT UP ON DASHBOARD. THIS LASTED FOR APPROXIMATELY 4-5 SECONDS. SCARY! TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER FOR FLASH"OF COMPUTER PER TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN (TSB). ALL WAS WELL UNTIL YESTERDAY AT 9,100 MILES. SAME EXACT THING HAPPENED! WILL HAVE DEALER CHECK OBD FOR ERROR CODES. THIS WAS A MAJOR SAFETY PROBLEM AND CONCERN, COULD HAVE BEEN TRAVELING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED ON INTERSTATE WITH SEMI BEHIND ME. THEN WHAT? I AM HERE TO REPORT THE STALLING PROBLEM WITH MY 2007 JEEP WRANGLER. I EXPERIENCED LOSS OF ELECTRIC POWER ALONG WITH ENGINE FAILURE AND WAS UNABLE TO START MY JEEP FOR A FEW SECONDS WHILE DOING HIGHWAY SPEEDS. (I THINK I WAS DOING ABOUT 60MPH AT THE TIME). I KNOW THERE ARE FELLOW 07 WRANGLER OWNERS WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS AS WELL AND WE WOULD ALL LIKE TO SEE THIS PROBLEM RESOLVED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS INJURED BY THIS MALFUNCTION. LIKE ALOT OF OTHER FOLKS, I HAVE A 2007 JEEP JK THAT STALLED ON ME WHILE DRIVING. I WAS GOING AROUND A CURVE AT ABOUT 25 MPH WHEN ALL POWER AND ELECTRICITY FAILED FOR 2 SEC. AFTER 2 SEC EVERYTHING CAME BACK ON INCLUDING THE MOTOR (I HAVE A STANDARD) I HAVE READ ON THE WWW.JK-FORUM.COM WEBSITE OF ALOT OF PEOPLE HAVING SIMILAR ISSUES WITH NO CONCRETE FIXES FROM DC. STALL: MY NEW 2007 WRANGLER HAS TWICE STALLED AND LOST ALL POWER FOR 1-2 SECONDS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS ALL TURN ON AS IF THE CAR WAS JUST STARTED, THE BRAKES AND STEERING STOP RESPONDING AND THE ENGINE SEEMS TO EITHER TURN OFF COMPLETELY OR GO SILENT. THIS LASTS FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS AND THEN THE VEHICLE POWERS UP AGAIN AND ACTS AS IF NOTHING HAS HAPPENED. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE SO FAR ON STRAIGHT LANES AND AM WORRIED THIS WILL CAUSE AN ACCIDENT IF IT HAPPENS ON A CURVE OR WHEN I NEED TO USE MY BRAKES. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO JEEP AND WAS GIVEN THE RESPONSE "CANNOT DUPLICATE, NO ACTION TAKEN" BUT THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE TO ME AND DON'T WANT THEM TO FINALLY TAKE THIS PROBLEM SERIOUSLY WHEN MY WIFE, 5 MONTH OLD INFANT AND MYSELF ARE ON THE NEWS BECAUSE WE DIED ON THE ROAD. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE WOULD RANDOMLY STALL AND LOSE POWER STEERING AND BRAKING ABILITY. THE FAILURE HAS OCCURRED THREE TIMES WITHIN THE PAST YEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED IMMEDIATELY AFTERWARDS; THEREFORE, THE CONTACT NEVER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. AFTER THE MOST RECENT FAILURE, SHE WAS UNABLE TO IMMEDIATELY RESTART THE ENGINE UNTIL 30 MINUTES LATER. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPROGRAMMED THE POWER MODULE. THE FAILURE RECURRED LESS THAN A WEEK LATER WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH. ONCE MORE, THE VEHICLE TOOK 30 MINUTES TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALER BEING REPAIRED. THE CONTACT BELIEVES THAT THE MANUFACTURER NEEDS TO DEVELOP A NEW REPAIR FOR THIS FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,860.
SAFETY ISSUE REGARDING ENTRY AND EXIT FROM 07 JEEP WRANGLER 2DR. SEAT DOES NOT FOLD FORWARD PROPERLY TO ALLOW AN AVERAGE SIZE ADULT ENTRY OR EXIT FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE! IN ADDITION, THERE IS IMPROPER PLACEMENT OF THE SEAT BELT SYSTEM BLOCKING THE PATH AS WELL. OLDER MODEL WRANGLERS HAD A SEAT THAT ALLOWED THE SEAT TO FOLD COMPLETELY FORWARD. *TR
APPROX. 3 WEEKS AFTER WE PURCHASED OUR NEW 2007 JEEP WRANGLER WE EXPERIENCED A PREMATURE ENGAGEMENT OF THE ESP SYSTEM UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS AT A SPEED OF 35MPH. THIS CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO SWERVE DUE TO AUTOMATIC BRAKING AND SHUT DOWN OF THROTTLE. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO CHRYSLER SERVICE AND THEY REPLACED 3 LEAKING BRAKE CALIPERS. APPROX. 2 WEEKS LATER WE EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM WHILE EXITING THE INTERSTATE AT A LOW SPEED. WE IMMEDIATELY RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO CHRYSLER SERVICE AND THEY REPLACED THE REAR WHEEL SPEED SENSORS. AGAIN, 1 WEEK LATER THE SAME PROBLEM OCCURED WHILE EXITING THE INTERSTATE. CHRYSLER SERVICE REPLACED THE STEERING WHEEL ANGLE SENSOR. THE 4TH INCIDENT OCCURRED 2 WEEKS LATER WHILE PULLING OUT OF A PARKING LOT. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT CANNOT DUPLICATE OR REPAIR THE PROBLEM. WE FILED A LEMON LAW CLAIM WITH CHRYSLER THAT IS CURRENTLY UNDER SETTLEMENT. WE HAVE BEEN TOLD THEY WILL BE REPLACING THE VEHICLE AND THE PAPERWORK IS BEING PROCESSED.
DRIVING 4TH GEAR, STEADY GAS, NO RADIO, NO ACCESSORIES, NO LIGHTS. VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER FOR 1 SECOND, DASH LIT UP ALL LIGHTS. NO LOSS OF ENGINE JUST POWER TO EVERYTHING, STEERING, BRAKES, ACCESSORIES, ETC. *TR
AS I WAS DRIVING AT 50 MPH ON A LEVEL ROAD; THE ENGINE AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEM ON MY 2007 JEEP WRANGLER COMPLETELY FAILED. JUST AS QUICKLY AS THE ENGINE/ELECTRICAL CUT OUT (WITHIN 1-2 SECONDS) ALL THE DASH BOARD LIGHTS ILLUMINATED AND THE ENGINE RESTARTED ON ITS OWN. WHAT MADE THIS EVENT A DANGER TO ME AND POSSIBLY OTHERS ON THE ROAD IS WHEN THE ENGINE DIED I ALSO LOST POWER STEERING. THIS CAUSING ME TO MOVE INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC (I WAS ROUNDING A SWEEPING CORNER AT THE TIME). WHEN THE ENGINE RESTARTED IT CAUSED THE POWER STEERING TO IMMEDIATELY COME BACK WHICH IN TURN CAUSED A QUICK JERK BACK INTO MY LANE OF TRAVEL. THIS WAS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS MANEUVER GIVEN THE TYPE OF VEHICLE THIS IS. THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH MANY 2007 JEEP WRANGLERS. *JB
1) 6 ATTEMPTS TO REPAIR THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL (DRIVE BY WIRE) PROBLEM. 2) HARD TO DRIVE UNLESS YOU CAN GET IT TO CANCEL THE PROBLEM ONLY BY RESTARTING THE VEHICLE, IN TRAFFIC THIS CAN BE HAZARDOUS 3) PARTS REPLACED WERE WIRE HARNESS, CONNECTORS AND PATCH JOBS, ALL UNDER WARRANTY AND HAVE NOT GOTTEN THE OLD PARTS. *TR

WHILE TRAVELING WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ENGAGED, AS I WAS ASCENDING A TURN ON A STEEP GRADE, THE TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFTED FROM 4TH TO 2ND GEAR ABRUPTLY. WHEN THIS OCCURRED, THE ESP LIGHT ON THE DASH LIT UP AND THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. I PULLED OFF THE FREEWAY TO CHECK UNDER THE HOOD, BUT DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING WRONG. I RE-STARTED THE ENGINE AND EVERYTHING WAS FINE. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WHEN I RETURNED HOME FROM THE TRIP AND THEY CHECKED THE ECU AND NO WARNINGS CAME UP. *JB
