TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE PARKED, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START UNTIL AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT A LIGHTING BOLT WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT FLASHES AND AUDIBLE ALARM SOUNDS. JEEP WILL NOT RECALL ALL DEFECTIVE JEEPS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS LOSING TRANSMISSION COOLANT FLUID. AS A RESULT, THE ENGINE WOULD OVERHEAT AND STEAM WOULD BELLOW FROM THE ENGINE IN WARMER TEMPERATURES. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A MECHANIC AND WAS TOLD THAT TRANSMISSION COOLANT FLUID WAS LEAKING WHERE THE SOFT LINE MET THE HARD LINE FOR THE TRANSMISSION COOLANT. THE CONTACT SPOKE TO THE MANUFACTURER ABOUT NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 09V436000 (POWER TRAIN: AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION), BUT WAS ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN, BUT THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 73,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING 45 TO 65 MPH, THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE SHOOK VIOLENTLY OUT OF CONTROL AND CAUSED THE SUSPENSION TO BECOME UNSTABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TIRES NEEDED TO BE BALANCED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO REPLACED THE STEERING DAMPER, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED TWO DAYS AFTER THE REPAIR WAS PERFORMED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
2008 JEEP JK'S NEED TO HAVE A RECALL ON THERE CLOCK SPRINGS! I HAVE JUST HAD TO HAVE MINE REPLACED, AND HAVE READ OF MANY OTHERS WHO HAVE OR NEED TO ON-LINE. THE WARNING LIGHT STARTED FLASHING EVERY MINUTE OR SO WITH A TONE, I FEEL OTHERS AND MYSELF SHOULD NOT HAVE TO OR HAD TO PAY FOR OUR SAFETY WHEN IT IS THE MANUFACTURES ISSUE. *TR
MY AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING WHICH INDICATED THAT THE AIRBAG WOULD NOT WORK IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH. LIGHT CONTINUED TO GO ON AND OFF FOR SEVERAL DAYS AT RANDOM. DEALER TOLD ME THE CLOCK SPRING WAS LIKELY FAULTY AND WANTED NEARLY $1,000 TO FIX IT. I READ ONLINE FORUMS WHERE THE RIGHT-HAND DRIVE JEEPS HAD A RECALL ON THE CLOCK SPRING FOR THIS VERY ISSUE. ALSO READ MULTIPLE FORUMS WITH HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS THAT THE ISSUE IS PREVALENT ON LEFT HAND DRIVE JEEPS. I REMOVED MY CLOCK SPRING AND TESTED IT AND FOUND ONE CIRCUIT WAS SHORTING OUT DUE TO WEAR ON THE RIBBON WIRE WHERE THE RIBBON CONTACTS THE PLASTIC HOUSING. THIS APPEARS TO BE A FAULTY CLOCK SPRING DESIGN AND IS VERY DANGEROUS AS IT MAY PREVENT THE AIRBAG FROM DEPLOYING IN A CRASH AND THE ONLY REPAIR/REPLACEMENT OPTION IS TO PUT A NEW CLOCK SPRING BACK IN THAT HAS THE SAME DESIGN FLAW AS THE ORIGINAL. I REPLACED MY CLOCK SPRING WITH A NEW OEM UNIT BUT BASED ON THE HISTORICAL DATA, THE REPLACEMENT CLOCK SPRING IS NOT LIKELY TO LAST OR BE RELIABLE. *TR
IN NOVEMBER OF 2012, THE AIRBAG SYMBOL APPEARED ON THE DASH OF MY VEHICLE. I TOOK IT INTO THE SHOP AND THE DIAGNOSTICS TEST DETERMINED THAT IT WAS A FAULTY CLOCKSPRING. I HAVE NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT AND THE JEEP IS WELL MAINTAINED. THE CLOCKSPRING SEEMED TO BE DEFECTIVE. *TR
VEHICLE'S AIR BAG LIGHT ILLUMINATES AND "CHIMES" FREQUENTLY THROUGHOUT VEHICLE OPERATION. REQUEST CHRYSLER INITIATES RECALL IMMEDIATELY. *TR
2008 JEEP WRANGLER BEGAN TO VIOLENTLY SHAKE. AUTOMOBILE IS UNMODIFIED. VERY DIFFICULT TO CONTROL UNDER THESE CONDITIONS. *TR
I WAS COMING OFF THE FREEWAY ONTO AN EXIT AND THE JEEP STARTED SHAKING REALLY BAD, ALMOST TO THE POINT THAT I COULDN'T CONTROL IT. I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND MY BOYS THOUGHT IT WAS A FLAT TIRE (OR TWO) SO THEY GOT OUT AND LOOKED. NO FLAT. WE WERE ALMOST TO OUR DESTINATION SO ONCE I SETTLED DOWN, WENT THE REST OF THE WAY WITH NO PROBLEM. I HAVE NOT HAD THAT HAPPEN AGAIN SINCE THEN BUT IT IS VERY SCARY AND WITH ONE OR BOTH OF MY KIDS IN THE CAR AT ALL TIMES, I DON'T WANT ANYTHING TO HAPPEN. WHAT IS IT AND HOW CAN IT BE FIXED? WHILE I WAS DRIVING AROUND TOWN, MY AIRBAG LIGHT WILL COME ON AND OFF. SOMETIMES THE LIGHT WILL STAY ON FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME. *TR
I WAS LEAVING HOME AT 6:00AM TO GO TO WORK AND THE SMALL RED LIGHT FOR ENGINE PROBLEMS CAME ON. THEN THE LOW TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON, THEN WENT OFF AND SO DID THE RED LIGHT. THERE IS NOTHING I COULD DO AT THAT TIME OF THE MORNING SO I LIMPED TO WORK, 25 MILES OF ON/OFF/ON/OFF/ON GETS TO YOU. I CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY SAID TO BRING IT IN. I DID AND THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT AND COULDN'T MAKE THE LIGHT COME BACK ON. OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF MONTHS, THE RED LIGHT WOULD COME ON BUT NOT THE TIRE LIGHT. WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY JEEP? IF THE LIGHT DOESN'T COME ON, THEY CAN'T FIX IT??? IT DOESN'T COME ON BY COMMAND. AND IT IS STILL COMING ON/OFF/ON/OFF. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE HIGHWAY AT 65 MPH THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM HAD A CONTROL SYSTEM FAILURE EVENT (THIS IS THE THIRD EVENT IN 4 DAYS), CAUSING THE WINDSHIELD WASHER TO SPRAY WASHER FLUID ONTO THE WINDSHIELD DRAMATICALLY REDUCING DRIVER VISIBILITY, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS DID NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY, THEY ONLY TRAVELED ABOUT ONE-QUART INCH IN TIME WITH THE HORN CHIRPING. THE WIPERS DID NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY EVEN WHEN TURNED ON DIRECTLY BY THE DRIVER TO ADDRESS THE WASHER FLUID DISCHARGING ONTO THE WINDSHIELD UNEXPECTEDLY. THE DRIVER EXITED THE FREEWAY TO THE EMERGENCY SHOULDER TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. THE ELECTRICAL FAILURE EVENT AND THE DRIVERS OCCLUDED VISIBILITY CAUSE BY THE UNEXPECTED DISCHARGE OF WASHER FLUID AND NON-PROPERLY FUNCTIONING WINDSHIELD WIPERS LASTED FOR THE DURATION OF THE UNEXPECTED ELECTRIC CONTROL SYSTEM FAILURE EVENT OF ABOUT 4 MINS.. THERE WAS NO FAILURE INDICATION ON THE DASH PANEL AND NO WARNING THAT THE FAILURE HAD OCCURRED TO THE DRIVER. THE EVENT WAS UNEXPECTED AND WITHOUT WARNING AND OCCURRED WHILE THE MOTOR VEHICLE WAS BEING OPERATED. SERVICE APPOINTMENT WITH DEALER FOR THE VEHICLE'S ELECTRICAL CONTROL SYSTEM FAILURES HAS BEEN SCHEDULED. IN MY OPINION THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN THAT HAS ALREADY OR IS VERY LIKELY TO RESULT IN INJURY OR A FATALITY. NO VEHICLE SYSTEM WHEN EXPERIENCING ANY TYPE OF FAILURE MODE SHOULD BE ABLE TO OPERATE ANY SYSTEM ON THE VEHICLE IN AN UNSAFE AND/OR UNEXPECTED WAY OR REALLY ANY MANNER. *TR
MY JEEP WRANGLER X 2DR WAS SITTING FROM 12:15P THE DAY PRIOR TO (WAS A NICE DAY TOOK MY MOTORCYCLE AROUND TOWN) AND AT 5:30A I HEARD A LOUD NOISE THAT WOKE ME OUT OF BED. RAN UPSTAIRS & OUTSIDE THE TRUCK WAS POURING SMOKE OUT OF MY HOOD... THAN TAKING ACTION MY BOYFRIEND UNLATCHED THE HOOD OF A POSSESSED TRUCK (BLOWING THE HORN CONSTANT RADIO ON LIGHTS ON) AND PROCEEDED TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY TO YIELD/STOP THE TRUCK FROM CONTINUING TO BURN. CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY SENT SOMEONE OUT TO DO A CLAIM ON THE JEEP AND CALLED ME TWO WEEKS LATER SAYING THEY WOULD NOT COVER IT BECAUSE ITS NOT UNDER MANUFACTURERS DEFECT. THE INSURANCE COMPANY WON'T COVER IT EITHER BECAUSE WE STOPPED THE FIRE... WHICH I DON'T UNDERSTAND. NOW AFTER DOING $3000 AND UPWARD OF THERE IN WORK REPLACING ALL THE WIRING (COMPUTER AND FUSE BOX) IT STILL WONT RUN. HELLLPPPP! *TR
AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON INTERMITTENTLY AT LOW DRIVING SPEED. EVENTUALLY STAYED ON PERMANENTLY WHENEVER VEHICLE WAS IN GEAR. FAILED CLOCK SPRING WAS DIAGNOSED. THIS VEHICLE IS THE MORE COMMON LEFT HAND DRIVE. *TR
ON THE 2008 JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) DASHBOARD, THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT FLASHES ON EVERY OTHER MINUTE WITH A CHIME, AN INDICATION THAT THERE IS SOMETHING MALFUNCTIONING OR INTERFERING WITH THE VEHICLE'S AIRBAGS.THIS HAS BEEN A RECURRING ISSUE AND CONCERN FOR MANY 2008 JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) OWNERS, INCLUDING MYSELF, AND HAS BEEN SHOWN TIME AND TIME AGAIN TO BE CAUSED BY A FAULTY CLOCKSPRING WITHIN THE VEHICLE'S STEERING WHEEL. THIS FAULTY CLOCKSPRING IS THE CULPRIT FOR POTENTIAL AIRBAG FAILURE IN THE 2008 JEEP WRANGLER (LHD) DURING AN ACCIDENT OR PREMATURE DEPLOYMENT WHEN SIMPLY DRIVING AROUND. DAIMLER CHRYSLER HAS REFUSED TO ADDRESS THE SAFETY CONCERN OF THEIR FAULTY CLOCKSPRING THAT CAN CAUSE FAILURE OF THE VEHICLE'S AIRBAGS FROM PROPERLY DEPLOYING. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING WHERE HE WAS ADVISED THAT THERE WAS A LEAK ON THE SURFACE OF THE ENGINE. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER REGARDING THE ENGINE LEAK AND THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR A SECOND DIAGNOSTIC TEST WHICH DETERMINED THAT THE FRONT CRANKSHAFT SEAL WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO ADVISED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE FAILURE UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 11V528000 (AIR BAGS: FRONTAL) HOWEVER, THE CONTACT'S VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,000.
AIRBAG LIGHT AND CHIME ACTIVATE WHEN TURNING. WAS DIAGNOSED AS FAULTY CLOCK SPRING MECHANISM. WAS TOLD IT WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY AND IF NOT FIXED AIRBAGS MAY NOT DEPLOY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER 4X4. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE STARTED THE VEHICLE AND ALLOWED IT TO IDLE FOR APPROXIMATELY 3-5 MINUTES. THE CONTACT EXITED THE VEHICLE AND LATER AS HE ATTEMPTED TO OPEN THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR, THE VEHICLE BURST INTO FLAMES. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FIRE STARTED ON THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SIDE FLOORBOARD WHERE HE FIRST SAW RED FLASHES. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE AND A FIRE REPORT WAS FILED. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHAT STARTED THE FIRE. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR HIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED DESTROYED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 61,000.
DURING A ROUTINE MAINTENANCE SERVICE, THE DEALER NOTICED A LARGE AMOUNT OF "PLAY" IN THE STEERING WHEEL OF OUR 2008 JEEP WRANGLER SAHARA 2-DOOR. IT MEASURED GREATER THAN THE ALLOWABLE MOVEMENT. AFTER READING ABOUT THE EFFECTS OF "DEATH WOBBLE" IT WAS DECIDED THAT THIS COULD BE THE EARLY SIGNS OF THIS PROBLEM. WITH THE NUMEROUS DOCUMENTED CASES OF THIS ISSUE, WE ASKED THE DEALER TO CONTACT CHRYSLER TO COVER THE $600+ REPAIR/UPGRADE THAT WAS SUGGESTED(INCLUDING AN UPGRADED STEERING DAMPER, UPGRADED TIE ROD, AND WHEEL ALIGNMENT). THE VEHICLE IS COMPLETELY STOCK, WELL MAINTAINED, HAS 35,000 MILES, AND HAS NEVER BEEN OFF-ROAD. THE DEALER AGREED THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE FACTORY PARTS AND IT SHOULDN'T BE OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO COVER THE COST OF THE UPGRADE. THEY DROPPED THE PRICE DOWN TO $100 AND IT IS NOW BEING REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE SHOULD BE READY TOMORROW, SO WE WILL FIND OUT IF THESE NEW PARTS WILL PREVENT THE "DEATH WOBBLE" ISSUE. *TR
THE JEEP JUMPS OUT OF FIRST GEAR WHEN STARTING FROM A FULL STOP. THE STICK SHIFT VIOLENTLY JUMPS BACK INTO NEUTRAL AND OCCURS UNPREDICTABLY. IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS WHEN THIS HAPPENS WHEN I'M TURNING INTO TRAFFIC (RISK OF BEING T-BONED) OR ELSE FROM DEAD STOPS WHEN SOMEBODY IS BEHIND ME (RISK OF BEING REAR-ENDED). I HAVE EVEN HELT THE STICKSHIFT IN FIRST GEAR WHEN STARTING FROM A DEAD STOP AND IT HAS JUMPED OUT HURTING MY WRIST. *TR
I WAS DRIVING APPROX. 55 MPH, WHEN MY 2008 JEEP WRANGLER BEGAN TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY. BRAKING, I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO CHECK FOR A BLOWN TIRE. I WALKED AROUND THE JEEP AND SAW NOTHING WRONG. AS LUCK WOULD HAVE IT, I WAS IN FRONT OF A JEEP DEALERSHIP. I PULLED ACROSS THE HIGHWAY AND LEFT THE JEEP FOR INSPECTION AND REPAIRS. THE FOLLOWING DAY I WAS CONTACTED AND TOLD THAT I HAD EXPERIENCED THE "DEATH WOBBLE". I WAS TOLD I NEEDED TO REPLACE THE STEERING DAMPER SHOCK, LOWER CONTROL ARMS AND DAMPER BRACKETS. THEN I HAD TO PAY FOR TIRE ROTATION AND WHEEL ALIGNMENT. I HAVE FOUND PLENTY OF COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. AFTER READING SOME, I AM AFRAID IT COULD STILL HAPPEN AGAIN. I AM CONSIDERING SELLING THE JEEP. I THINK THAT JEEP OWES THE JEEP OWNERS A RECALL. THESE REPAIRS COST MY $650.00. I HAVE OWNED 5 JEEP WRANGLERS, I WON'T BUY ANOTHER ONE, UNLESS JEEP MAKES THIS RIGHT!! *TR
I HAD AN AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT THAT CAME ON AND WOULD NOT GO AWAY. WHEN I BROUGHT IT INTO THE DEALER THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS THE CLOCK SPRING THAT WAS BAD. THEY HAD INFORMED ME THAT IT WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY OR THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR THIS SAFETY ISSUE SO I PAID OUT OF POCKET TO GET IT FIXED. *TR
EXPERIENCED THE NOTORIOUS "DEATH WOBBLE" AGAIN TODAY. THIS HAS HAPPENED PLENTY OF TIMES TO ME, BUT TODAY IT WAS THE MOST SEVERE AND WORRISOME. THE VEHICLE SHAKES AND RATTLES SO MUCH THAT I EXPECT PIECES TO FALL OFF. OTHER CARS PULL UP TO ME ON THE HIGHWAY OFF RAMP (WHERE IT OFTEN HAPPENS ON OUR BUMPY MASSACHUSETTS ROADS) AND ASK IF EVERYTHING IS OKAY. I'M NOT SURE IF I WOULD BUY THIS JEEP AGAIN. THEY REALLY NEED TO FIX THIS. ARTICLES ONLINE SEEM TO SUGGEST THAT IT IS THE STOCK TRACK BAR, AND IF SO, WHY WON'T CHRYSLER JUST REPLACE THEM? *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER SAFARI. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE VEHICLE REACHES 45 MPH THE FRONT END STARTS TO SHAKE. WHEN THE CONTACT TRIED TO SLOW THE VEHICLE DOWN THE SHAKING BECOMES WORSE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE TRACK ARM BROKE FROM THE VEHICLE WHEN HE TRIED TO SLOW THE VEHICLE DOWN. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO MERGE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITHOUT HAVING AN ACCIDENT. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE FRONT BRACKETS AND AXLE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY WOULD ALSO HAVE TO ADD TWO ADDITIONAL BRACKETS TO RE-ENFORCE THE AXLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 40,000. THE CONSUMER STATED THE DEATH WOBBLE BECAME SO SEVERE, IT ACTUALLY BLEW OFF THE AXLE BRACKETS THAT HELD THE TRACK ARM. UPDATED 12/03/12
DRIVING DOWN PAVED ROAD AND FRONT END STARTED TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY. HAD TO PULL OVER AND STOP FOR IT TO STOP. HAD SAME PROBLEM IN MARCH 2011 AND TOOK TO DEALER FOR REPAIR WHICH ONLY LASTED ABOUT 4000 MILE AND 19 MONTHS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE AND THE VEHICLE HAD NO BALANCE. THE CONTACT MERGED TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD, SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE AND RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING WHERE THE TECHNICIANS ADVISED THAT THE FAILURE WAS UNKNOWN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE PROBLEM HAPPENED AGAIN AT THE SAME SPEED AFTER ANOTHER SMALL BUMP. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION. AFTER RESEARCHING THE PROBLEM FURTHER, THERE ARE ENDLESS FACTORS THAT TRIGGER THE WOBBLE. EACH PROBLEM MAY BE FIXED, BUT IT WILL ONLY PROVIDE A TEMPORARY SOLUTION. THE WOBBLE ITSELF CANNOT BE FIXED UNDER MOST CIRCUMSTANCES, YOU CAN ONLY FIX WHAT SETS IT OFF. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN DOCUMENTED MULTIPLE TIMES ON THE INTERNET. AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON DURING DRIVING. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY TOLD ME THE CLOCK SPRING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED FOR $525.00. AFTER RESEARCHING THE ISSUE I DISCOVERED THAT JEEP HAS RECALLED THE RIGHT HAND DRIVE CLOCK SPRINGS FOR 2007-2012 BUT NOT ON THE LEFT HAND DRIVE JEEPS. THEY ARE THE SAME PART AND A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED ACROSS THE FLEET. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS IT CAN CAUSE THE AIR BAG TO DEPLOY ON ITS OWN, OR NOT DEPLOY IN AN ACCIDENT. *TR

I HAVE HAD PERSISTENT VIOLENT SHAKING OF THE FRONT END AFTER HITTING MINOR BUMPS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE ISSUE IS REFERRED TO AS THE "DEATH WOBBLE" BY OTHERS ONLINE AND BY JEEP DEALERSHIP. THEY FIXED ONCE UNDER WARRANTY AT LESS THAN 20K MILES AND NOW THAT IT IS RECURRING AT 38K-47K MILES THEY WILL NOT COVER. I HAVE MADE NO MODIFICATIONS TO THE VEHICLE - IT IS STOCK. THE ISSUE HAPPENED 3 TIMES IN ONE TRIP THIS PAST WEEKEND WHERE I NEED TO BRING THE CAR TO A NEAR STOP ON THE HIGHWAY (OBVIOUSLY A DANGEROUS CONDITION). I CALLED JEEP CORPORATE (MAX, LEVEL 1 AGENT.
