WHEN FILLING UP THE GAS TANK, IF ALLOWED TO FILL COMPLETELY IT WILL PUKE GAS BACK OUT AFTER THE AUTOMATIC PUMP SHUT OFF. ENOUGH GAS TO RUN DOWN THE SIDE OF THE JEEP AND ON TO THE GROUND. SINCE THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED IT WILL DO IT EVERY TIME IF I DO NOT STOP IT EARLY. *TR
ON MULTIPLE INSTANCES, WHILE FUELING THE VEHICLE, THE GAS WILL NOT SHUT OFF, AND THE FUEL WILL OVERFLOW OUT OF THE TANK AND SPILL ON THE GROUND AND SIDE OF VEHICLE. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT SEVERAL DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS, AND I HAVE FOUND THAT SEVERAL OTHERS HAVE HAD THIS SAME ISSUE WITH THEIR JEEP. VEHICLE IS JUST OUT OF WARRANTY, AND I FEEL THIS UNSAFE CONDITION SHOULD BE A RECALL. *TR
THERE IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH FUEL REGURGITATING FROM THE FUEL FILLER NECK ON FILLUP FOR 2008 WRANGLERS. MY WIFE'S 2008 WRANGLER 4-DOOR HAD THE ISSUE AND WAS REPAIRED. 4 MONTHS LATER, MY 2008 WRANGLER 2-DOOR DID THE SAME THING. WHEN REPORTING TO THE DEALER, I WAS INFORMED THAT MY VIN IS NOT PART OF THE GROUP WITH THE PROBLEM. YET THERE I STOOD AT THE PUMP WITH A QUART OF GASOLINE ALL OVER MY JEEP, THE GROUND AND ME. THIS IS A FIRE AND ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARD. THE GROUP IS CLEARLY LARGER THAN CHRYSLER IS ADMITTING. I WANT MY JEEP FIXED JUST LIKE MY WIFE'S WAS WHEN SHE HAD THIS ISSUE! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60-70 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD SHAKE VIOLENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THEY ADVISED HER THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE TIRES WERE REPLACED AND A WHEEL ALIGNMENT WAS PERFORMED BUT NONE OF THE ATTEMPTS CORRECTED THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 62,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, THE BRAKE LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND THE BRAKE PEDAL DROPPED TO THE FLOORBOARD ABNORMALLY. THE CONTACT STOPPED THE VEHICLE ON THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD AND ADDED BRAKE FLUID TO THE BRAKING SYSTEM. IN ADDITION, THE AIR BAG WANING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN STATED THERE WAS A HOLE IN THE BRAKE TUBE DUE TO THE STEERING SHAFT RUBBING AGAINST THE TUBE. THE BRAKE LINE WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED AND THE CLOCK SPRING FOR THE AIR BAGS WAS FRACTURED AND WOULD ALSO NEED REPLACING. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBERS: 08V202000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:FOUNDATION COMPONENTS:HOSES, LINES/PIPING, AND FITTINGS) AND 11V528000 (AIR BAGS:FRONTAL) BUT WAS ADVISED BY THE MANUFACTURER THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN EITHER RECALL. THE BRAKE LINE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE CLOCK SPRING WAS NOT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,000.
THE SOUND IN THE DASHBOARD FOR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, ALL OTHER LIGHTS DOOR AND SEATBELT SOUNDS DO NOT WORK 90 PERCENT OF THE TIME. 10 PERCENT THEY WILL MAKE A SOUND BUT THEN SHUT OFF. IT IS A MAIL JEEP. I'M CONCERNED THTA SOMETHING MIGHT HAVE SHORTED OUT OR WILL CATCH MY VEHICLE ON FIRE. WHEN I TOLD THE DEALERSHIP THEY TOLD ME IT WOULD COST A LOT OF MONEY BECAUSE THEY WOULD HAVE TO TAKE THE DASH OUT TO FIND THE PROBLEM. THE REASON SO MANY MILES IS MY POSTAL ROUTE. PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE ON 10/29/2011. AT FIRST FUEL FILL UP AND EVERY SUBSEQUENT FUEL FILL UP, THE FUEL BACK SPLASHES AND OVERFLOWS ON TO THE CAR. APPARENTLY, THE DESIGN OF THE FUEL TANK DOES NOT ALLOW THE PUMP TO SHUT OFF BEFORE IT OVERFLOWS RESULTING IN FUEL SPILLAGE ON THE VEHICLE AND THE GROUND WITH EACH FILL UP. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE CLOCK SPRING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 11V528000 (AIR BAGS:FRONTAL). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. ..UPDATED 04/16/12 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED SHE IS NOW IN THE PROCESS OF TRYING TO GET REIMBURSED FOR THE RECALL REPAIRS. UPDATED 05/10/12
AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT IN INSTRUMENT PANEL CONSISTENTLY GOES OFF DURING IRREGULAR SPEED, STEERING WHEEL OPERATION, AND TEMPERATURE. THERE IS NO PATTERN THAT CORRELATES WITH THE TIMING OF THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT. WHEN IT FIRST STARTED, IT WOULD ONLY COME DURING AT BRIEF MOMENTS AND TURN OFF AGAIN. NOW, APRIL, IT TURNS OFF AFTER VEHICLE START (LIKE NORMAL OPERATION), COMES BACK ON IMMEDIATELY, AND ONLY BRIEFLY DOES IT TURN OFF AT RANDOM TIMES. THE MAJORITY OF THE TIME THE WARNING LIGHT FLUCTUATES IS DURING STEERING WHEEL TURNING. TURNING TO ONE PARTICULAR SIDE DOES NOT ALTER THE LIGHT MORE THAN THE OTHER. SOMETIMES HARD BUMPS IN THE ROAD OR OFF-ROAD SCENARIOS WILL CHANGE THE LIGHT TOO. KNOWING VERY WELL THIS COULD BE THE CLOCKSPRING, NO OTHER LIGHTS OR FUNCTIONS INVOLVED WITH THIS DEVICE CONFIRM THIS IS THE PROBLEM. THE HORN WORKS AT ALL TURNING ANGLES, ESP AND ABS ALL FUNCTION NORMALLY. THERE ARE ALSO NO DTC CODES FROM THE COMPUTER. ALL VISIBLE ELECTRICAL PLUGS IN THE CABIN AND BEHIND DASH HAVE BEEN UNPLUGGED, CLEANED FROM DEBRIS AND RECONNECTED. I FIND THE CURRENT RECALL FOR ONLY THE 2007S AND RIGHT HAND DRIVE 2008S VERY FRUSTRATING! THE ASSUMPTION THAT ONLY RHDS WILL HAVE THEIR WINDOWS DOWN MORE ON DIRT ROADS MIGHT BE FACTUAL; HOWEVER, THERE ARE NUMEROUS OF 2008 JEEP WRANGLER OWNERS THAT USE THEIR VEHICLE FOR WORK, OR OFF-ROAD SCENARIOS THAT WILL EASILY BYPASS THE RHD ASSUMPTION. THIS IS A VERY SCARY PROBLEM TO HAVE. I DO NO FEEL SAFE THAT ANY ACCIDENT I HAVE THE AIRBAGS WILL DEPLOY PROPERLY. THE FAITH OF MY VEHICLE SAVING MY LIFE IS COMPLETELY LOST. *TR
MY JEEP HAS JUMPED OUT OF 1ST GEAR FROM A START OF ROLL UNLIMITED TIMES CAUSING AT TIMES NEAR TO FATAL CRASHES BECAUSE OF THIS. I HAVE CONTACTED CHRYSLER REPRESENTATIVES AND DEALERSHIP SERVICE MANAGERS NUMEROUS TIMES AND ALL WILL NOT FIX DUE TO POWERTRAIN COVERAGE IS NON-TRANSFERABLE AND THEY CLAIM THIS IS NOT A JEEP PROBLEM. THERE IS NUMEROUS FORUMS AND DISCUSSIONS WITH OTHER JEEP OWNERS WHO CLAIM THE SAME PROBLEM YET JEEP WILL NOT FIX. PLEASE HELP. *TR
I JUST PURCHASE A JEEP AND THE FIRST TIME I FILLED UP WITH GAS, THE PUMP SHUT OFF BUT FUEL SPLASHED OUT ON THE GROUND, THE VEHICLE AND ME. I THOUGHT AT FIRST I JUST HAD DONE SOMETHING WRONG. I WENT THREE DAYS LATER TO FUEL UP AGAIN AND THIS TIME DID NOT USE THE NOZZLE HANDLE LATCH AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED. THE PUMP SHUT OFF AND I KEPT THE NOZZLE IN THE TANK FOR A MOMENT FOR THE FUEL TO SETTLE BUT IT SPILLED OUT WITH FORCE ALL OVER MY CAR, THE CONCRETE AND ME. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO AS I LOVE MY JEEP BUT THIS IS UNSAFE AND I WANT IT FIXED! OBVIOUSLY THERE IS NO WARRANTY REMAINING BUT I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR A NEW FUEL TANK AND SYSTEM. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE STEERING DAMPENER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE AND STEERING WHEEL BEGAN TO VIOLENTLY SHAKE. THE CONTACT SLOWED THE VEHICLE DOWN UNTIL SHE COULD REGAIN CONTROL. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND WAS IN THE PROCESS OF HAVING THE FAILURE DIAGNOSED. VEHICLE BEGINS TO SHUDDER FROM ROAD CONDITIONS, THEN WHEN YOU STRIKE A BUMP, OR THE ROAD SURFACE CHANGES, THE VEHICLES THEN VIOLENTLY SHAKES AND WILL NOT CEASE UNTIL SLOWED TO 30MPH OR INCREASED TO 70MPH. VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION ON FREEWAYS. IT APPEARS THAT THE ENTIRE FRONT END IS ABOUT TO SHAKE THE WHEELS LOOSE, THEN TRANSFERS TO THE REAR WHEELS SOMETIMES. THEN WHEN IT APPEARS THE PHENOMENA IS OVER, IT CAN REOCCUR AGAIN JUST AS QUICKLY. MY WIFE REFUSES TO DRIVE IT, NOR WILL SHE ALLOW MY SON TO RIDE IN IT UNTIL IT IS RESOLVED. *TR
FUEL TANK FILLER NECK POURS FUEL OUT ONTO THE GROUND WHEN FILLING THE TANK TO FULL. *TR
AFTER MONTHS OF OVERNIGHT STAYS WITH THE DEALERSHIP; A NUMBER OF ELECTRICAL PARTS WERE REPLACED IN AN ATTEMPT TO RESOLVE INTERMITTENT STARTING ISSUES. DURING THE LAST VISIT THE TIPM STOPPED RESPONDING WHILE THE TECH WAS CHECKING FOR ERROR CODES. THE TECH DETERMINED THAT IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND WAS THE LIKELY SOURCE OF THE ISSUES GIVEN IT'S COMPLEX BUILD AND IT'S ROLL IN THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. THE VEHICLE IS AN 08 WRANGLER UNLIMITED WITH 60,000 MILES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH THE AIR BAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE AIR BAG WARNING CHIME NOTIFIED THE CONTACT THERE WAS A FAILURE WITH THE AIR BAG. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THE SEAT HAD TO BE RECALIBRATED OR REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,300.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE AIR BAG MODULE WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 55,000.
RANDOMLY WON'T START. TURN THE KEY AND NOTHING HAPPENS. TRY 2ND OR THIRD TRY, THEN IT'S STARTS. HAVE REPLACE BATTERY, STARTER, TESTED ALTERNATOR. CAR DEALER CAN'T FIGURE IT OUT. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN PLAGUING MANY JEEP OWNERS. JEEP MESSAGE BOARDS ARE FULL OF THIS SAME COMPLAINT. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL FIX. *TR

CONSUMER STATES POTENTIAL SAFETY HAZARD WITH THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED HE WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, WHEN SUDDENLY THE VEHICLE SLOWED DOWN AND THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER FOUND THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *JB
VERY OFTEN, WHEN I FILL UP MY GAS TANK, IT SPITS GAS OUT. SOMETIMES, THE GAS SPRAYS OUT SO FAR THAT IT WETS MY CLOTHING, THE FUEL PUMP STAND, AND THE SURROUNDING AREA. OCCASIONAL ELECTRICAL PROBLEM (HORN SOUNDS FOR NO REASON) 4. AT TIMES (1 OUT OF 3) THE STARTER CLICKS BUT CAR DOES NOT START (JIGGLING GEAR SHIFT FIXES THE PROBLEM) I HAVE READ PAGES AND PAGES OF SIMILAR POSTS OF PROBLEMS WITH OTHER 2008 WRANGLERS. ALL COMPLAINTS ARE THE SAME. I HAD THE STARTER REPLACED FOR $400+ AND THAT DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE. I WANT THIS RESOLVED NOW. I CURRENTLY HAVE A JEEP CHEROKEE AND A TOWN AND COUNTRY AS WELL. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THE DEALER STATED THAT THE TIPM MODULE MALFUNCTIONED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT DID NOT REPLACE THE TIPM MODULE. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 15 MPH WHEN THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED, INDICATING A MALFUNCTION WITH THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG. IN ADDITION, THE CLOCK SPRING WAS ALSO DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT DID NOT TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER OR LOCAL MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS OR REPAIRS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,477.
THE VEHICLE'S FRONT END BEGAN TO VIBRATE WITH RESONANCE UNTIL THE ENTIRE VEHICLE WAS SHAKING SO BADLY THAT IT HAD TO BE PULLED OFF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THIS PHENOMENON IS WELL DOCUMENTED BY MANY SOURCES AS "DEATH WOBBLE." THE INITIAL INCIDENT HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING ON A TWO-LANE HIGHWAY IN GOOD CONDITION. ON THIS SAME DRIVE, THERE WERE TWO MORE INCIDENTS OF DEATH WOBBLE. AFTER THESE OCCURRENCES, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN IN TO A MECHANIC FOR INSPECTION, FRONT-END ALIGNMENT AND TIRE BALANCING. THERE WERE NO MORE INCIDENTS OF DEATH WOBBLE UNTIL NEARLY A MONTH LATER WHEN IT OCCURRED ON THE HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH. AFTER THIS INCIDENT, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A MECHANIC THAT SPECIALIZES IN JEEP MAINTENANCE AND CUSTOMIZATION. THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM WAS IDENTIFIED AS SLOP IN THE STOCK TRACK BAR. THE VEHICLE HAS STOCK SUSPENSION, WHEELS AND TIRES. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN WELL MAINTAINED WITH TIRE ROTATIONS DONE AT REGULAR INTERVALS. OTHER THAN THESE INCIDENTS OF DEATH WOBBLE, THE VEHICLE DOES NOT HAVE ANY OTHER NOTICEABLE PROBLEMS. FOLLOWING THE TRACK BAR DIAGNOSIS, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALERSHIP FOR INSPECTION. THE DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED SEVERAL OTHER FRONT END COMPONENTS AS BEING IN NEED OF REPLACEMENT, AT A SIGNIFICANTLY HIGHER COST, CONTRADICTORY TO THE TWO PREVIOUS INDEPENDENT INSPECTIONS. *TR

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 79,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 83,000.

KNOWN TO MANY WHO HAVE JEEPS, THE "DEATH WOBBLE". WHEN THIS FIRST HAPPENED TO MY DAUGHTER'S CAR, THANKFULLY I WAS THE ONE DRIVING. IT WAS ON THE INTERSTATE AND I THOUGHT A TIRE HAD BLOWN. THE STEERING WHEEL VIBRATED UNCONTROLLABLY AND I PULLED OVER. NOTHING LOOKED WRONG BUT I CALLED A TOW TRUCK REGARDLESS. THEY LOOKED AT IT AT THE STATION AND COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. IT IS A SITUATION WHERE THE FRONT AXLE BEGINS OSCILLATING WITH SUCH VIOLENCE THAT CONTROL OF THE JEEP IS DIFFICULT UNTIL SLOWED DOWN, AND THE ENTIRE VEHICLE SHAKES TO THE POINT YOU FEEL IT WILL COME APART. *TR

FRONT WHEELS AND STEERING BEGAN TO SHAKE AND VIBRATE VIOLENTLY WHILE MAKING A RIGHT-HAND TURN FROM A STOP AND AFTER ACCELERATING TO ABOUT 40 MPH. VIBRATION STOPPED AFTER BRAKING TO ALMOST A STOP. SAME SYMPTOMS OCCURRED TWICE MORE AFTER HITTING SMALL BUMPS IN ROAD AT BETWEEN 50 AND 60 MPH AND AGAIN STOPPED AFTER BRAKING. DEALER SAID THEY DUPLICATED THE CONDITION AND REPLACED STEERING DAMPENER AT 35726 MILES BUT VIBRATION HAS OCCURRED ONCE MORE SINCE REPAIR. I HAVE OWNED THE JEEP SINCE NEW AND IT IS COMPLETELY STOCK WITH NO MODIFICATIONS AND ORIGINAL P255-75-R17 TIRES WHICH WERE AT PROPER INFLATION. TIRES HAVE ALSO BEEN CHECKED AND DO NOT HAVE ANY DAMAGE OR ABNORMAL WEAR. *TR

I OWN A JEEP TOUR COMPANY AND THIS IS THE THIRD CLOCKSPRING I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE IN TWO DIFFERENT JEEPS. WHILE TRAVELING AT 5MPH OR UNDER THE AIRBAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED. AFTER HAVING THE DEALER CHECK IT OUT I WAS ADVISED IT WAS A CLOCKSPRING ISSUE. I REPLACED THIS ONE ON MY OWN. THEY CHARGE $1450 JUST TO CHECK WHAT PART, THEN $280 FOR THE PART. THIS HAS BEEN DONE AT TTO SEPERATE LOCAL DEALER SHIPS. I HAVE SAVED TWO CLOCKSPRINGS, ONE DONE FROM A 2007 JEEP AND ONE FROM THIS 2008.
2008 RHD JEEP WRANGLER AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON MEANING AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY IF AN ACCIDENT OCCURS. CLOCK SPRING/CORROSION ISSUE CAUSING HORN NOT TO WORK WHICH IS A SAFETY HAZARD. MANY MAIL CARRIERS ARE HAVING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEMS WITH THESE VEHICLES. VEHICLE WILL NOT ALWAYS START. THIS WHOLE VEHICLE SHOULD BE RECALLED AS IT HAS MAJOR ELECTRICAL ISSUES. THE MOTOR WENT OUT ON MINE AT 52,000 MILES. THE WARRANTY IS ONLY FOR 36,000 MILES. THE MOTOR WAS REBUILT BY A JEEP DEALER AND I WAS TOLD IT HAD A SPUN BEARING. THE AIR BLOWER CONTROLLER ALSO DOES NOT WORK HALF OF THE TIME. THESE RHD JEEPS ARE ALL LEMONS AND POSE SAFETY HAZARDS TO MAIL CARRIERS WHO SPEND MOST OF THEIR DAY OUT ON THE ROAD. THE HORN ISSUE IS A THREAT TO THE PUBLIC AS YOU CANNOT WARN AN UNSUSPECTING DRIVER OR PEDESTRIAN OF YOUR PROCESS. THE AIRBAG ISSUE IS A THREAT TO THE DRIVER. EVERY TIME YOU FILL UP THE TANK WITH FUEL IT OVERFILLS. IF YOU DON'T TRICKLE THE NOZZLE IT BACKS UP ON YOU, SPILLING FUEL OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. AS SOON AS THE NOZZLE CLICKS OFF THE FUEL STARTS BACKING UP. *KB

REPLACED DAMPENER ONCE AGAIN. OCCURRED AGAIN TODAY. TAKING INTO SHOP FOR SAME PROCEDURE. READ A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ON THIS PROBLEM. SEEMS TO TRANSCEND MULTIPLE MODEL YEARS. I'M SEARCHING TO SEE IF ANY CLASS ACTION LAW SUITS AGAINST CHRYSLER FOR THIS POOR DESIGN FEATURE EXISTS. PAYING OVER $22,500. FOR A VEHICLE SHOULDN'T HAVE THIS PROBLEM AND IF DISCOVERED, SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY $400.00 EVERY TIME TO FIX. AS I WAS LEAVING FOR WORK ONE MORNING I HIT THE KEY ALARM TO UNLOCK DOORS AND JEEP BEGAN HONKING, WINDSHIELD WIPERS TURNED ON AND BEGAN SPRAYING WINDSHIELD FLUID. I THOUGHT IT WAS ODD AND DIDN'T THINK MUCH OF IT. ON THE WAY TO WORK IN TRAFFIC IT BEGAN DOING THE SAME THING AND THIS OCCURRED 3 TIMES IN ABOUT 30 MINUTES. AFTER GETTING TO WORK, THE JEEP WOULD HONK BY ITSELF EVERY 2-3 MINUTES. I DECIDED TO TAKE IN TO THE DEALERSHIP. IT CONTINUED DOING THIS ON THE WAY THERE. AS I WAS ABOUT HALF A MILE FROM THE DEALERSHIP THE JEEP COMPLETELY TURNED OFF AND I IMMEDIATELY HAD TO PULL OUT OF TRAFFIC. I WAS ABLE TO START BACK UP BUT THIS TIME ALL A/C HAD STOPPED WORKING. AFTER GUTTING A CALL BACK FROM DEALERSHIP, HE SAID THE PART WAS ON BACKORDER AND THERE WAS AT LEAST A 100 ORDERS WAITING TO BE SHIPPED. THIS CONCERNS ME BECAUSE IT LOOKS TO BE A WIDESPREAD THING WITH THE JEEPS. IN DOING SOME RESEARCH PREVIOUS TO THIS EMAIL THERE WERE PROBLEMS WITH THE TIPM ON THE 2007 JEEP AND I'M WORRIED SOME OF THESE BAD ONES MAY HAVE GOTTEN INTO SOME OF THE 2008. *TR
