2012 JEEP SAHARA. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO TENSIONER ARM AND SERPENTINE BELT FAILURE. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE LOST ITS STEERING. THE TENSIONER ARM SEIZED SHREDDING THE SERPENTINE BELT WHICH LODGED INTO THE ENGINE. THE CONSUMER REQUESTED TO REIMBURSED FOR THE REPAIRS. UPDATED 09/25/2017*JS
OIL COOLING HOUSING LEAKING,, WAS TOLD THE REPLACEMENT PART WOULD BE IN 2-3 WEEKS,, I WENT AHEAD AND PAID FOR THE PART,, HERE IT IS 4/20/2017 AND WAS TOLD PART IS ON PART ORDER.
JEEP HAD RANDOM "JOLT" WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT SPEED. THEN A REALLY HARD JOLT IN FEBRUARY THAT STALLED THE ENGINE WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AT 60 MPH. WOULD NOT START FOR 10 MINUTES, THEN DID. I HAVE TAKEN TO TWO DIFFERENT DEALERS WHO SAY THAT THEY CAN'T REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. NOT SAFE AND THEY SHOULD HAVE TO FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM AND FIX IT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE FRONT TRACK BAR BRACKET TO THE FRONT AXLE FRACTURED WITHOUT WARNING. THE FAILURE CAUSED A LOSS OF POWER STEERING FUNCTION BECAUSE THE AXLE WELDS SEPARATED AND BECAME UNDONE. IN ADDITION THE BRAKES MALFUNCTIONED WITHIN THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM AND THE ABS. THE FRONT AXLE WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 72,107. UPDATED 04/28/17*LJ *CN
WHILE STOPPED EXITING A PLAZA I TURNED ON MY TURN SIGNAL AND IT DIDN'T TURN ON AT ALL. IT WAS OPERATIONAL WHEN I PULLED INTO THE PLAZA A SHORT WHILE BEFORE. THEN WHEN PARKED THE INTERIOR LIGHTS WOULD ALSO NOT TURN ON WITH THE SAME CONTROL STALK. THE NEXT DAY THE OTHER CONTROL STALK THAT CONTROLS THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS, HORN WHEN PRESSED FROM THE STEERING WHEEL, ALONG WITH ALL OF THE CONTROLS ON THE STEERING WHEEL WERE NOT WORKING. I WAS TOLD BY A MECHANIC THAT IT WAS THE CLOCK SPRING INSIDE THE STEERING WHEEL. I RESEARCHED RECALLS AND SAW RECALLS ON THE CLOCK SPRING INVOLVING THE AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT. I THEN TOOK MY JEEP TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY DETERMINED THAT IT WAS THE LIN BUS FAILURE INTERNAL TO INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. ALSO THE LIGHTS ON THE WINDOW SWITCHES HAVE ALL SLOWLY STOPPED WORKING OVER THE COURSE OF THE YEAR. ALONG WITH THE CABLE FROM THE ANTENNA TO THE RADIO HAS BROKEN LEAVING ME WITH NO AM/FM RADIO. MY JEEP HAS NEVER BEEN STUCK IN THE RAIN WITH THE TOP OFF, HAS SUFFERED NO WATER DAMAGE, HAS BEEN IN NO ACCIDENTS, HAVE BEEN DRIVEN WITH CARE DUE TO THE FACT I LOVE IT AND PAID A PRETTY PENNY FOR IT. I'VE KEPT UP WITH OIL CHANGES AND TIRE ROTATION GETTING A VEHICLE INSPECTIONS EVERY 3,000 MILES. I HAVE READ MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS OF THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER GOING BAD ON 2012 JEEP WRANGLERS. THIS IS ISSUE SHOULD BE REEVALUATED BY NHTSA AND CHRYSLER. CHRYSLER PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT YOU HAVE LOYAL JEEP OWNERS WHO VALUE THEIR JEEPS AND DON'T WANT TO DRIVE ANYTHING ELSE, BUT WE ALSO DESERVE A QUALITY PRODUCT FOR OUR MONEY.
THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM AND YET STILL NOT RECALLED THE TIPM JUST FAILED IN THE JEEP (SECOND ONE IN A MONTH) THIS TIME IT DID IT WHILE DRIVING. THE JEEP WENT ALL APE [XXX]. ALARMS GOING OFF, TRYING TO RESTART, THE SPEEDOMETER WOULDN'T WORK. I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO CRASH AND DIE. AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR PINGED AND FLASHED INTERMITTENTLY
TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V352000 (AIR BAGS). THE PART FOR THE RECALL REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHILE TURNING TO PARK THE ENGINE THROTTLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED & JEEP JUMPED THE CURB, CRASHED THRU A FENCE & ENDED UP IN THE OCEAN. WE WERE RESCUED BY DANA POINT HARBOR PATROL.
TIPM FAILURE.
FROM: CUSTOMER VEHICLE: 2012 JEEP WRANGLER SPORT, PURCHASED NEW IN 2012. REFERENCE: PROBLEMS IN HEATING SYSTEM TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN, I PURCHASED A NEW 2012 JEEP WRANGLER SPORT FROM HENDRICK CHRYSLER JEEP IN FAYETTEVILLE, NC. FOURTEEN MONTHS LATER, I MOVED TO FLORIDA, WHERE THERE WAS NO NEED TO USE THE HEATER. UPON MY RETURN TO NORTH CAROLINA IN THE WINTER OF 2014, I NOTICED THAT HEATER ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE WAS NOT AS WARM AS THE PASSENGER'S SIDE. THE FOLLOWING WINTER, THE HEAT ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE FADED TO A POINT WHERE IT WAS BARELY WORKING. AFTER RESEARCHING THE ISSUE AND SPEAKING WITH A REPRESENTATIVE AT HENDRICK JEEP SERVICE CENTER, I LEARNED THAT THE HEATER CORE WAS LIKELY THE PROBLEM AND THAT I WOULD NEED TO FLUSH THE HEATER CORE. IN JANUARY 2015, I TOOK MY JEEP TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC TO HAVE THE HEATER CORE FLUSHED, WHICH FIXED THE PROBLEM FOR A SHORT TIME. RESEARCH ONLINE AMONG JEEP OWNERS OF MY MODEL AND YEAR REVEALED THAT THE LONG-TERM SOLUTION IS A NEW RADIATOR AND HEATER CORE (NEITHER OF WHICH ARE UNDER WARRANTY OR UNDER RECALL). THE POOR CLEANING AT THE TIME OF MANUFACTURING HAS CAUSED THE CASTING OF SAND IN THE HEATER CORE AND RADIATOR, RESULTING BUILD UP THAT BLOCKS HEAT. NOW, IN WINTER OF 2016, MY HEATER DOES NOT WORK. I CANNOT FIND A RECALL OR A REBATE FOR THE MORE THAN $2,400 DEALER ESTIMATE I RECEIVED TO REPLACE MY HEATER CORE AND RADIATOR. I FOUND A CHRYSLER STAR CASE (SEE ATTACHMENT) THAT GIVES STEPS TO FIX THE PROBLEM WITHOUT ACKNOWLEDGING ITS ORIGINS IN MANUFACTURING. I HAVE EMAILED CHRYSLER WITH A REQUEST FOR SUPPORT, TO NO AVAIL. GIVEN THAT THIS PROBLEM IS SO WIDESPREAD AND CONSISTANT AMONG JEEP OWNERS OF MY MODEL AND YEAR, I WANTED TO SHARE THE CASE WITH THE RECALL AGENCY, ALTHOUGH I KNOW THIS IS NOT A DIRECT 'SAFETY ISSUE.'
AFTER A 30 MILE TRIP, I DISCOVERED THAT THE LEFT FRONT BRAKE OF MY JEEP WRANGLER WAS OVERHEATED, CONFIRMED BY A DISTINCT BURNING SMELL, AN EXTREMELY HOT LEFT FRONT WHEEL, AND A PULLING SENSATION WHEN BRAKES WERE APPLIED. THE NEXT DAY, I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN AUTHORIZED JEEP DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR. I WAS TOLD THAT BOTH FRONT BRAKE CALIPERS WERE "BAD", AND NEEDED REPLACING. THE VEHICLE HAS ONLY 69,000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. MY 2012 DODGE JOURNEY HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM WITH THE REAR BRAKE CALIPER.
THE VEHICLE LOSES COMPLETELY HEAT ANNUALLY SINCE 2013.
THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE, THE FIRST TIME I WAS ON A CITY STREET AND WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MILES AN HOUR THE ENGINE STALLED AND I LOST THE POWER STEERING AND BRAKING. THE VEHICLE WAS STILL MOVING, I PUT THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL AND TRIED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. IT WOULD NOT START. WE PULLED OVER AND CALLED THE DEALERSHIP. WHILE I WAS ON THE PHONE WITH THEM, ABOUT 10 MINUTES LATER, TRYING TO GET IT IN A POSITION FOR THE WRECKER, MY WIFE TRIED TO START IT AND IT RESTARTED. WE DROVE IT HOME AND HAD A WRECKER COME GET IT BECAUSE WE WERE AFRAID TO DRIVE IT 20 MINUTES TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY FELT LIKE IS WAS THE FUEL PUMP AND REPLACED IT. I PICKED IT UP AND IT DROVE FINE FOR A FEW WEEKS AND DID THE EXACT SAME THING EXCEPT THIS TIME I WAS ON THE INTERSTATE DRIVING ABOUT 60 MILES AN HOUR AND FORTUNATELY I WAS IN THE INSIDE LANE AND PULLED OVER. TRIED TO RESTART IT AND AFTER WAITING 10 TO 15 MINUTES IT RESTARTED AGAIN. I DROVE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE IT IS RIGHT NOW WITH THEM TRYING TO DETERMINE THE PROBLEM. *TR
TAKATA RECALL THIS RECALL HAS BEEN IN EFFECT FOR MONTHS/ALMOST A YEAR. I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO TRADE IN MY VEHICLE AND AM GETTING INCREDIBLY LOW TRADE IN OFFERS DUE TO THIS OUTSTANDING RECALL. DEALERSHIPS ARE NOTING THAT THEY CANNOT RESALE THESE VEHICLES ON RECALL THUS THE LOW TRADE IN VALUE. I NEED TO TRADE IT IN THE NEXT MONTH BUT WILL LOSE AT LEASE 2000 BUCKS IN VALUE. I EITHER WANT A 2000 CHECK FOR THIS OR FOR THE RECALL TO BE FIXED OR PROMISE A VALUE TO ANY AND ALL DEALERSHIPS WHO HONOR THE FULL TRADE IN VALUE.
TAKATA RECALL - MY AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON AND CHRYSLER WILL NOT COVER THE REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED IN THE MORNING AND THE LIGHT CAME ON AND HAS YET TO GO OFF.
I'VE SPENT $1500 ATTEMPTING TO FIX THE WOBBLING IN MY STEERING WHEEL, AND THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. I'VE ALSO SPENT $700 ON A POORLY DESIGNED REAR OIL SEAL. THAT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH JEEPS.

MY VEHICLE'S HEAT IS VERY POOR ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE WHICH CAUSES DEFROSTING ISSUES. I HAVE HAD THE HEATER CORE FLUSHED BUT THE ISSUE STILL REMAINS. DURING THE FLUSH I FOUND WHAT APPEARED TO BE CASTING SAND IN THE COOLANT RESERVOIR.
THE CLOCKSPING WENT BAD IN MY VEHICLE AND I WAS TOLD IT IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY OR IN RECALL!THE REASON I TOOK IT IN WAS THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYED ON. MY PROBLEM WITH THIS IS IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE COVERED TO PROTECT ME AND MY FAMILY.
ELECTRONIC SWAY BAR CONTROL MODULE SHORT CIRCUITED DUE MOISTURE INVASION. POOR WATER RESISTANCE IN HOUSING QUOTE REPLACE $2100 WITHOUT LABOR. THIS PROBLEM OCCURRED DURING NORMAL HIGHWAY UNIT SHORT CIRCUITED.
MY VEHICLE CLOCK SPRING HAS GONE OUT. MY VEHICLE HAS 45000 MILES AND IS A MODEL YEAR 2012. OTHER YEARS, SPECIFICALLY 2008-2011 HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR THE VERY SAME THING. ALSO 2012 RHD MODELS HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR THE VERY THING. MY AIRBAG LIGHT CHIMES AND IS ILLUMINATED WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE, WHENEVER I TURN LEFT, RIGHT OR STOP OR ACCELERATE.
THE CLOCKSPING ON THE DRIVERS SIDE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS ITEM IN EARLIER MODEL JEEPS BUT NOT ON MY YEAR. I HAVE FOUND OUT THROUGH THE DEALER THAT IT IS THE SAME PART AND SAME NUMBER. I WOULD LIKE MY YEAR JEEP TO BE ENCLUDED IN THE RECALL FOR THIS PART BECAUSE IT IS THE SAME PART.
STOP AT RED LIGHT, WHEELS LOCKED. ELECTRIC STABILITY CONTROL LIGHT WENT ON. JEEP HAS ONLY 47,000 MILES, REPAIRS OVER $1200. CALIBERS AND SENSOR FOR ABS...
THE LEFT REAR BRAKE CALIPER ENGAGES RANDOMLY. WHEN ENGAGED THE VEHICLE IS SLOWED SOMEWHAT. SOMETIMES THERE WILL BE COMING OFF THE DISC PADS. I HAVE NOTICED THAT I CAN CLEAR THE CONDITION BY FOLLOWING THE HILL START ASSIST ON/OFF PROCEDURE. A MECHANIC TOLD ME THIS IS A COMPUTER FAILURE AND HE CAN FIX IT FOR $1300. I THINK IT IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE.
THE VEHICLE POWER ABRUPTLY DROPS WHILE DRIVING LOSING ANYWHERE FROM 100 TO 500 RPMS. IF THE VEHICLE IS STOPPED AT A SIGNAL OR TRAVELING AT LOWER SPEEDS THE POWER DROP WILL SHUT DOWN THE VEHICLE. THE PROBLEM IS RANDOM AND VERY UNSAFE
TAKATA RECALL. I RAN MY VIN THROUGH MOPAR AND WAS ADVISED MY VEHICLE QUALIFIES FOR THIS RECALL AND THAT I LIVE IN A TIER 1 OR TIER A AREA. BUT THAT THERE WAS NO FIX. WHAT'S BEING INVESTIGATED AS THE MOST RECENT DEATH RELATED TO THIS RECALL TOOK PLACE IN THE CITY I WORK IN AND HAS A SOMEWHAT MILDER WEATHER THAN WHERE I LIVE. JUST THIS WEEK WE'VE GONE FROM 60 DEGREE TO 100 DEGREE WEATHER. IT'S COMMON TO REACH 115 DEGREES IN THE SUMMER. IS THERE BO OPTION FOR ME TO FIX MY VEHICLE? I HAVE A LOAN ON IT. I'M NOT COMFORTABLE DRIVING IT AND PUTTING MY FAMILY AT RISK. SO IN THE MEANTIME I HAVE TO PARK IT, FIND DIFFERENT TRANSPORTATION, AND STILL PAY MY LOAN? THERE HAS TO BE AN OPTION FOR ME TO RESOLVE THIS AND NOT WAIT UNTIL MOPAR FINDS A FIX AND HOPEFULLY NOTIFIES ME VIA PHONE AS I'VE REQUESTED. IF THERE IS A KNOWN ISSUE, AND I HAVE AN AT RISK VEHICLE, BEING OPERATED IN AN AT RISK AREA, THERE IS NO WAY I SHOULD BE ASKED TO STILL DRIVE IT AND PUT MY FAMILY AT RISK UNTIL MOPAR DECIDES THEY HAVE A REMEDY. *TR
WHILE BEING TOWED BY OUR RV ON A CITY STREET, A FIRE STARTED UNDER THE HOOD OF THE JEEP. THE TRANSFER CASE WAS IN NEUTRAL. THE MANUAL TRANSMISSION WAS IN NEUTRAL. THE IGNITION SWITCH WAS TURNED 1 NOTCH TO ACCESSORY TO UNLOCK THE STEERING. THE FIRE WAS EXTINGUISHED BY THE FIRE DEPARTMENT. NO POLICE REPORT WAS FILED BECAUSE THE FIRE WAS NOT CAUSED BY AN ACCIDENT. BECAUSE OF THE SEVERITY OF THE FIRE DAMAGE, NO CAUSE OF THE FIRE WAS DETERMINED.
THE MANUFACTURER OF MY VEHICLE,FCA HAS ISSUED A NUMBER OF RECALLS EG S33 COVERING JEEPWRANGLERS BUILT 2007-2010 AND RECENTLY S40 COVERING ONLY RIGHT HAND DRIVE JEEPS BUILT 2022-2016. THESE RECALLS ARE FOR CLOCK SPRING FAILURES RESULTING IN COMPROMISED AIRBAG CIRCUITS WHICH WILL NOT DEPLOY. THE CLOCK SPRING FAILS BECAUSE DUST GETS IN IT. MY JEEP IS A 2012 WRANGLER WITH ABOUT 10,000 MILES ON IT HAS HAD THIS FAILURE. IT HAS BEEN DRIVEN EXTENSIVELY WITHOUT WINDOWS IN THE DESERT. I HAVE DISCUSSED THIS PROBLEM WITH FCA WITHOUT SUCCESS . WHAT IS MY RECOURSE???
JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED ROLLED AWAY ON SLIGHT INCLINE (< 5 DEGREES) WITH PARKING BRAKE ENGAGED AND DRIVER OUT OF VEHICLE. DRIVER HAD TO REACH INSIDE THE ROLLING VEHICLE TO PRESS THE HYDRAULIC BRAKE PEDAL BY HAND TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO A STOP. IF DRIVER WAS NOT NEXT TO VEHICLE WHEN INCIDENT HAPPENED, VEHICLE WOULD HAVE LIKELY ROLLED OUT INTO TRAFFIC. VEHICLE FAILED STATE INSPECTION IN APRIL 2016 DUE TO PARKING BRAKE NOT HOLDING. PARKING BRAKE WAS ADJUSTED AND PASSED INSPECTION, BUT FAILED WITHIN A MONTH.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY DECELERATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, KENDALL JEEP IN MIAMI, FLORIDA, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO AN ELECTRICAL MALFUNCTION. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY A LOCAL INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT THE FAILURE SHORTLY RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,000.
TIPM WENT OUT LOST ALL CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE WHILE TRAVELING 55 MPH! COULD HAVE BE A DEADLY SITUATION! JEEP NEEDS TO HAVE A RECALL ASAP....
WINDSHIELD WIPERS STOPPED WORKING ON THE HIGHWAY IN THE MIDDLE OF A THUNDERSTORM, CREATING A HAZARDOUS SITUATION. TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO THE SHOP, HAD THE FUSES CHECKED, WIPER MOTOR REPLACED, WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH TESTED, AND NOTHING FIXED THE ISSUE. THE ISSUE TURNS OUT TO BE A FAULTY TIPM (TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE), AND WILL COST OVER 1200 DOLLARS TO REPLACE. THIS APPEARS TO BE A WIDESPREAD ISSUE WITH CHRYSLER VEHICLES.
JULY 26, 2016, WE TOOK OUR 2012 JEEP WRANGLER TO THE DEALERSHIP AFTER THE ABS AND TRAC LIGHTS CAME ON. THE DEALERSHIP SHOWED A C102A CODE AND A U140B CODE. THEY REPLACED AND PROGRAMMED THE LEFT REAR WHEEL SPEED SENSOR, FEELING THAT WOULD SOLVE OUR PROBLEM. ON AUGUST 18, 2016, IN STOPPED TRAFFIC, ON A MAJOR STATE HIGHWAY, THE CAR LOST POWER. WE WERE ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, BUT BY THE TIME WE GOT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, NO CODES WERE EVIDENT. ON SEPTEMBER 18, 2016. DRIVING 60 MPH, ON ANOTHER STATE HIGHWAY, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER. FORTUNATELY IT WAS A SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND TRAFFIC WAS LIGHT. WE WERE ABLE TO COAST TO A SIDE ROAD AND AFTER ABOUT 4 ATTEMPTS WERE ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE RESTARTED AND DROVE ABOUT 2 BLOCKS TO A SAFE PLACE. WE HAD TO CONTACT A TOW TRUCK TO CARRY THE VEHICLE 10 MILES TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE TO RECREATE THE CODE, SO HE TOOK IT HOME FOR ABOUT 3 DAYS, FINALLY HAVING THE VEHICLE LOSE POWER AND WAS ABLE TO GET IT CODED. THE DIAGNOSIS WAS A TIPM SHORTING OUT. THERE WAS ALSO A DAMAGED CLOCKSPRING. BOTH PARTS WERE REPLACED. TOTAL OF BOTH INVOICES = $1,752.25.
JUST NOTICED WHILE DRIVING, ALL OF THE CONTROLS ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE STEERING WHEEL ARE INOPERABLE. THESE INCLUDE THE RADIO, BLUETOOTH PHONE, INFORMATION MENU, RESET, ETC: UPON FURTHER EXAMINATION I ALSO NOTICED THE HORN NO LONGER WORKS. UNSAFE AND WILL NOT PASS STATE INSPECTION. INQUIRY BY INTERNET SEARCH INDICATE POSSIBLE CLOCKSPRING DEFECT, BUT THAT IS INCONCLUSIVE SO FAR.
AIRBAG LIGHT GOES ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING. THIS HAPPENS MOSTLY AT SPEEDS GREATER THAN 20 MPH. THIS STARTED ABOUT 3-4 MONTHS AGO.
CLOCKPIN. AIRBAG LIGHT IS AT ALL TIMES. WARNING SOUND "DINGS" OFTEN. DEALERSHIP STATES AIRBAGS WILL NOT FUNCTION UNTIL THE CLOCKPIN IS REPLACED.
WIPERS TURNS ON AUTOMATICALLY WHEN IN THE OFF POSITION, SAME WITH AC, STEREO RESETS BY IT SELF. THIS HAPPENS NO MATTER WHAT THE SHIFT POSITION IS. NO MATTER IF THE CAR IS RUNNING OR IN PARKING MODE.
THE HEAT SHIELD BAFFLE ABOVE THE MUFFLER BECOMES COMPLETELY UNATTACHED BECAUSE BOTH THE NUTS HOLDING IT IN PLACE AND BAFFLE ITSELF CORRODE AWAY. THE BAFFLE THEN DROPS ON TO THE MUFFLER AND RATTLES. THE BAFFLE IS MADE OF VERY THIN METAL. THIS JEEP IS A 2012 WITH ONLY 30000 MILES.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED A "DEATH WOBBLE". WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE STEERING COLUMN SHOOK FROM SIDE TO SIDE AND THE WHEELS LIFTED OFF THE PAVEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LAKELAND CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (2875 MALL HILL DR, LAKELAND, FL 33810, (863) 687-2501) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THEY COULD FIND THE CAUSE OF THE "DEATH WOBBLE." THE DEALER SUGGESTED REPLACING SEVERAL PARTS, INCLUDING THE AXLE, WHICH ALONE WOULD COST OVER $3,000. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE SERVICED FOR WHEEL ALIGNMENTS, NEW TIRES, NEW RIMS, NEW WHEEL BEARINGS, NEW AXLES, NEW HUBS, NEW HALF SHAFTS, NEW BALL JOINTS, NEW TIE RODS, ANTI-SWAY BARS, BUSHING SPRINGS, SHOCKS, ALIGNMENT BRACKETS, AND STEERING DAMPENERS. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER PLACED A METRIC BOLT INTO A NINE SIXTEENTHS HOLE FOR THE FRONT ANTI-SWAY "TRACK BAR" AT BOTH ENDS OF THE AXLE AT THE MOUNTING LOCATION BRACKET UPON THE AXLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000.
REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR HANDLE BUTTON IS NOT RELEASING AFTER OPENING (STICKING). THEREFORE, DOOR SOMETIMES DOES NOT LATCH SHUT AND COMES OPEN WHILE DRIVING. ALTHOUGH, PROPERLY BUCKLED, SAFETY CONCERN IS DUE TO REAR PASSENGERS, SUCH AS CHILDREN. *TR
TAKATA RECALL - THIS IS A SEVERE AND DANGEROUS CONDITION THAT SHOULD HAVE ALREADY BEEN CORRECTED. I AM VERY DISSATISFIED AND UPSET WITH THE ALLEGED "UNAVAILABILITY" OF REPAIR PARTS THAT HAS BEEN STATED FOR FAR TOO LONG. I NEED THIS DANGEROUS DEFECT REPAIRED IMMEDIATELY.
