VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND LOST ALL POWER. ENGINE SHUT OFF AND THERE WAS LITTLE ABILITY TO STEER. AS SOON AS I PULLED OVER SMOKE STARTED TO COME OUT FROM THE SIDES OF THE HOOD. WHEN I OPENED THE HOOD, THERE WERE FLAMES COMING FROM THE ENGINE NEAR THE FIREWALL. LUCKILY A POLICE OFFICER HAPPENED TO BE DRIVING BY. HE QUICKLY PUT OUT THE FIRE USING AN EXTINGUISHER FROM HIS PATROL CAR; HAD HE NOT BEEN THERE THE CAR WOULD HAVE QUICKLY BEEN CONSUMED. THIS HAPPENED A FEW DAYS AGO. SINCE THAT TIME I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH AND I HAVE BECOME AWARE THAT THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH WRANGLERS FOR MANY YEARS NOW. IT'S DISAPPOINTING THAT CHRYSLER HAS NOT FIGURED OUT WHAT CAUSES THESE FIRES; HAD THIS HAPPENED WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY THE LACK OF STEERING ABILITY COULD HAVE EASILY RESULTED IN THE SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH OF NOT JUST ME BUT OTHER DRIVERS AS WELL.
TAKATA RECALL, WE ARE VERY UPSET AT CHRYSLER THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE A FIX FOR THE JEEP WRANGLER PASSENGER AIRBAG ISSUE.. THIS VEHICLE IS DRIVEN BY OUR DAUGHTER FOR SCHOOL AND HER CARPOOL. SHE IS WITHOUT A CAR AS OF RIGHT NOW BECAUSE WE DO NOT FEEL IT IS SAFE FOR HER TO DRIVE AT THIS TIME. WE HAVE CALLED MANY TIMES AND GET THE RUN AROUND FROM OUR LOCAL DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND CHRYSLER ITSELF. THEY SHOULD HAVE A FIX FOR THE PROBLEM. WE NEED A CAR TO DRIVE. WE BOUGHT OUR JEEP OUT RIGHT AND NOW CAN'T EVEN TRADE IT IN TO GET HER A JEEP SHE CAN DRIVE DUE TO THIS AIR BAG RECALL. SOMEONE NEEDS TO GET THIS SITUATION UNDER CONTROL AND FIX ALL THE EFFECTED VEHICLES. WE HAVE A CAR SITTING IN OUR DRIVEWAY NOW FOR 2 MONTHS THAT CAN NOT BE DRIVEN.

THE FUEL PUMP RELAY ON THE TIPM MODULE FAILED (TOTAL INTEGRATED POWER MODULE). THIS FOR THE 2012 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED ISN'T PART OF A RECALL AND IT ISN'T SOMETHING COVERED UNDER THE POWER TRAIN WARRANTY. THE JEEP STARTED TURNING OFF AT LOW IDLE. THIS HAPPENED FOR BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT OR AT A STOP LIGHT. IT NOW HAPPENS WHEN GOING DOWN THE ROAD WHERE THE VEHICLE TURNS OFF AT RANDOM. IT ISN'T SAFE TO DRIVE UNTIL IT IS REPAIRED. I AM WORKING ON THE REPAIR NOW.
THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON THE OTHER DAY. AFTER READING JEEP FORUMS I UNDERSTAND THIS IS THE CLOCK SPRING THAT HAS A RECALL FOR OLDER YEAR WRANGLERS. I ALSO UNDERSTAND THAT YOU HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH NEWER WRANGLERS AND HAVE NOT YET ISSUED A RECALL. THE VEHICLE HAS 68000 MILES AND THIS IS RELATED TO SAFETY. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONERY WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED ON.
WHEN I FILL UP AT THE GAS STATION, AND THE FUEL PUMP CLICKS OFF, FUEL SPILLS OUT EVERYWHERE. EVERY SINGLE TIME.

WHEN IN MOTION ON AN UNEVEN OR BUMPY ROAD THE ANTI STABILATION LIGHT STARTS FLASHING AND TIRES FELL LIKE SOMETHING IS GRABBING THEM AND MAKES GRINDING SOUND. THIS HAPPENS WHEN APPLYING BRAKE OR NOT APPLYING BRAKE. THREE OTHER CO WORKERS ARE HAVING SAME PROBLEM ALL 2012 RIGHT HAND DRIVE.

MY AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT HAS COME ON AFTER ONLY 40,000 MILES. IT STAYS ON INTERMITTENTLY AND MAY STAY ON FOR 20 MINUTES THEN BE OFF FOR SEVERAL MORE MINUTES. THEN TURN BACK ON AGAIN.
I JUST LEFT WORK AND HAD TRAVELED LESS THAN A MILE WHEN MY ENGINE SHUT OFF. I WAS ONLY TRAVELING 20MPH AND COASTED INTO THE FIRST OPEN DRIVEWAY I COULD FIND. I OPENED THE HOOD TO A LOT OF SMOKE AND A SMALL FIRE FROM MY WIRING HARNESS. MY 2012 JEEP WRANGLER SPORT IS COMPLETELY STOCK AND ALWAYS MAINTAINED THROUGH MY LOCAL JEEP DEALERSHIP. THE OFFICIAL WORD FROM JEEP WAS THAT MY STARTER SHORTED OUT WHICH CAUSED MY WIRING HARNESS TO OVERHEAT AND CATCH FIRE.
THE SUDDEN FAILURE OF TURN SIGNALS, WINDSHIELD WIPERS, HEADLIGHTS, TAILLIGHTS, BRAKE LIGHTS AND ALL CONTROLS ON THE TWO STALKS AND THE STEERING WHEEL. I DO NOT KNOW WHEN IT HAPPENED AND REALIZED IT WHEN I NOTICED THE LACK OF SOUND AND BLINKING DASH LIGHT ON USING THE TURN SIGNAL. NO FUSES WERE BLOWN.I DO NOT DRIVE IN THE DARK MUCH.I AM HAVING IT REPAIRED TODAY. THE SERVICE WRITER SAID IT WAS A COMPUTER. HOW CAN JEEP TIE SO MANY ESSENTIAL CONTROLS TOGETHER? IF IT HAD OCCURRED AT NIGHT IN THE RAIN IT COULD HAVE BEEN CATASTROPHIC. PERHAPS IT HAS ALREADY HAPPENED TO SOMEONE.
BAD FUEL PUMP
AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING DOWN A LOCAL CITY STREET. TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND IT WAS DIAGNOSED AS A FAULTY CLOCK SPRING RENDERING THE AIR BAG INOPERABLE. MY COMPLAINT IS THAT NHTSA ALREADY HAS 2 RECALLS ON THIS PROBLEM BUT FOR RIGHT HAND DRIVE WRANGLERS ONLY. MY JEEP HAS THE SAME PROBLEM, CONCERNING THE SAME PARTS, FOR THE SAME REASONS THE RIGHT HAND DRIVE AIR BAG FAILURES OCCURRED. JEEP REFUSES TO COVER MY JEEP UNDER THESE RECALLS. THE CLOCK SPRING HAS WAS REPLACED ONCE AT PARTIAL COST TO ME. IT IS NOW OUT AGAIN. NOW THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT IS ON, AND IT AFFECTS THE WAY I'M DRIVING.
AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT NOTED PROBLEM WITH AIRBAG WHILE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY OR MOVING. INSPECTION BY DEALER FOUND THE CLOCKSPRING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED FOR DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG.
ON 04/09/16, THE WIPERS STOP WORKING WHILE DRIVING, AND DRIVERS SIDE HEADLAMP STAYS ON CONTINUOUSLY, AND ON HIGH BEAM. HAVE TO UNHOOK BATTERY TERMINAL IN ORDER TO GET LIGHT TO GO OUT. WAS TOLD THE TIPM TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE HAS FAILED.
THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON INTERMITTENTLY FOR A WEEK. BY THE TIME I HAD DECIDED TO TAKE MY JEEP IN FOR SERVICE THE LIGHT NO LONGER COMES ON. I CHECKED ON THE INTERNET AND DISCOVERED IT WAS A CLOCKSPRING PROBLEM BUT SINCE THERE IS NO ERROR LIGHT ON NOW, I CANNOT TAKE IT IN FOR REPAIR. HOW DO I KNOW MY AIRBAGS ARE WORKING? MY BLOWER ALSO CUTS OFF OCCASIONALLY AND THEN COMES BACK ON. IT DOES THIS AT LEAST ONCE A YEAR.
WHEN FILLING THE GAS TANK, ONCE IT REACHES THE FULL POINT, IT FAILS TO TRIGGER THE FUEL PUMP TO STOP IN TIME AND FUEL SPILLS ALL OVER THE SIDE OF THE REAR FENDER. IT DOES THIS EVERY SINGLE TIME I FILL UP.
JEEP WAS STALLING. HEAD WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. ONE MONTH LATER JEEP STILL RANDOMLY STALLS AT IDLE / STOP LIGHTS. NOW IT IS STARTING TO CUT OUT AT ROAD SPEEDS.
I TOOK MY 2012 JEEP INTO A DEALER SPIRIT DODGE IN SWEDESBORO NJ 08085 SATURDAY 2/27/16 MY COMPLAINT WAS NO HEAT. I WAS TOLD IT NEEDS A HEATER CORE A RADIATOR, AND TRANS COOLER. AND THAT MY EASY CARE EXTENDED WARRANTY DID NOT COVER IT EVEN THOUGH IT SAYS IT COVERS HEAT. MY EASY CARE CONTRACT NUMBER IS EGTK886782. MY JEEP HAS 52000 MILES. THEY SAID IT HAS SLUDGE IN THE SYSTEM. NOW MY SYSTEM IS NOT SCHUELDED TO BE CLEANED FLUSHED TILL 60 MONTH. SO IT FAILED BEFORE THE TIME. I WAS TOLD IT'S A KNOW PROBLEM BUT THEY HAVE NOT RECALLED THEM. I BOUGHT THE JEEP AT VANN DODGE IN VINELAND NJ. SO I REALLY FEEL CHEATED. I HAVE HAD NO HEAT FOR A WHILE BUT I DIDN'T REPORT RIGHT AWAY
I WAS HAVING ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH MY 2012 JEEP WRANGLER. SPECIFICALLY MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS WERE NOT WORKING. IT WAS SNOWING OUTSIDE AND THEY JUST WOULDN'T WORK. I HAD TO MANUALLY GET OUT OF MY CAR SEVERAL TIMES TO CLEAR THE SNOW BEFORE I MADE IT HOME. I GOT THE MOTOR REPLACED BUT IT THEY STILL WERE NOT WORKING. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THAT MY ENTIRE TIPM (TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE) "WENT BAD". THEY TOLD ME THAT THE COULD NOT ORDER THE PART BECAUSE ITS ON BACK-ORDER. I CALLED JEEP AND THEY SAID THAT THE PART WAS ON BACK ORDER WITH NO ESTIMATED TIME OF DELIVERY. THE TIPM CONTROLS ALL OF THE ELECTRONIC CONTROLS ON MY VEHICLE AND I CAN NOT DRIVE WITHOUT IT. IT IS A 2012 SO I AM SURPRISED THAT THIS PART IS FAILING, LET ALONE UNAVAILABLE FROM THE MANUFACTURER. FURTHERMORE THE PART ALONE IS $850 AND NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I DID SOME RESEARCH ONLINE AND IT LOOKS LIKE THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT FILED AGAINST CHRYSLER/JEEP/DODGE FOR THIS PART BEING DEFECTIVE BUT IT ONLY COVERED CERTAIN MAKES/ YEARS.
TIPM FAILURE. THE TIPM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE IT WASN'T OPERATING THE ENGINE COOLING FAN (RADIATOR FAN). THE COOLING FAN MODULE ALSO HAD TO BE REPLACED. I UNDERSTAND A FAILED TIPM COULD CAUSE AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY INADVERTENTLY, WINDOW OPENING FAILURE, RANDOM HORN ALARMS, STABILITY CONTROL PROBLEMS, AND MORE. AN ENGINE TROUBLE LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING. THE DEALERSHIP EXPLAINED THE POWER DISTRIBUTION MODULE (PART NUMBER 68244883AA) AND THE COOLING FAN MODULE (PART NUMBER 68143894AB) HAD TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE THEY HAD FAILED.
TIPM FAILURE. FAILURE ALSO AFFECTED STARTER AND STEERING MODULE. INITIALLY VEHICLES LIGHTS AND HORN WOULD GO ON WITHOUT VEHICLE TURNED ON. DOORS LOCK AND UNLOCK BY THEMSELVES. AC AND HEATER WOULD SHUT DOWN AND RESTART. ON THESE INSTANCES, DEALERSHIP WAS ADVISED, I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS A CODE PROBLEM AND CODES WERE RESET. LATELY VEHICLE WOULD DOWNSHIFT TO FIRST GEAR AT BOTH HIGH AND SLOW SPEEDS CAUSING A HAZARD IN TRAFFIC. FROM A START POSITION VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF FIRST GEAR. VEHICLE ENGINE WOULD DIE OUT IN TRAFFIC OR TURNOVER THEN DIE OUT AS IF FUEL PUMP WAS FAILING. INSTRUMENTATION PANEL WOULD FLASH AND MALFUNCTION NOT ALLOWING DRIVER TO SEE WHAT GEAR INDICATION WAS SHOWING. VEHICLE POWER STEERING WOULD FAIL AT VARIOUS SPEEDS CAUSING DANGEROUS SITUATIONS. LAST INSTANCE THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DEALERSHIP DUE TO THE UNSAFE CONDITIONS. DEALERSHIP AND CHRYSLER ADVISED. REMEDY FROM EACH IS "WE ARE LOOKING FOR PARTS, DO NOT KNOW WHEN OR CAN GIVE YOU A REPAIR DATE. VEHICLE HAS BEEN AT DEALER SINCE BEING TOWED IN. CHRYSLER REFUSES TO GIVE ANY ASSISTANCE. INITIAL COST OF REPAIR QUOTED AT $1100.00+. OWNER REFUSED TO PAY THIS AMOUNT SINCE IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH CHRYSLER PRODUCTS. DEALERSHIP WILL LOWER COSTS TO $250.00. STILL UNACCEPTABLE DUE TO CHRYSLERS REFUSAL TO ADMIT A PROBLEM THAT THEY ARE AWARE OF AND HAVE HAD A PREVIOUS RECALL FOR ONLY AFTER THREAT OF LAWSUIT. BUT THEY HAVE LIMITED IT TO ONLY SPECIFIC MODELS AND YEARS. PROBLEM GOES BACK TO 2007. VEHICLE IN WITH THIS PROBLEM IS A HAZARD AND DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AT ANY SPEEDS. NO OFFER OF VEHICLE ASSISTANCE WHILE WAITING TO SEE WHEN VEHICLE CAN BE PUT BACK INTO USE.
THERE SEEM TO BE A NUMBER OF ELECTRICAL ISSUE MOSTLY AROUND THE DOOR LOCKING FAILURE; THE HORN AND THE TOUCH RADIO
AIRBAG CLOCKSPRING WAS REPLACED UNDER RECALL M031 IN EARLY 2012. THE PART RECALLED HAD FAILED AGAIN CAUSING AIRBAG LIGHT TO BE ILLUMINATED, LOSS OF SPEED CONTROL, LOSS OF STEERING WHEEL AUDIO CONTROLS, LOSS OF HORN, AND LOSS OF "STEP" AND "RESET BUTTONS FOR THE INFORMATION CENTER. THIS ISSUE STARTED OUT WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL IN THE LEFT OR RIGHT POSITION AND WITHIN A FEW WEEKS HAS BECAME A CONSTANT PROBLEM TO NO AVAIL.
THE COOLING SYSTEM HAD SAND IN IT FROM THE FACTORY CAUSING THE RADIATOR TO BURST, THE TRANSMISSION COOLER AND HEATER SYSTEM TO PLUG UP AND NOT WORK. THERE IS A FACTORY SERVICE BULLETIN ACKNOWLEDGING THE PROBLEM AND AS I WAS STRANDED WHEN RADIATOR BLEW OUT COULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE TO BE STRANDED IN NOWHERE.

IT FIRST HAPPENED AT NIGHT WHILE WIFE WAS DRIVING ON INTERSTATE JEEP WENT CRAZY MODE ALL LIGHTS IN CLUSTER ILLUMINATED WARNING LIGHTS FLASHING AND WITH HOT OIL MSG, WARNING DINGS GOING OFF, HEARD ELECTRIC FAN RUNNING . IT SEEMED THAT NOTHING WAS CONTROLLABLE, AUTO TRANS WENT INTO AND WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF FIRST GEAR. SCARED THE HELL OUT OF MY WIFE. GOT HOME AFTER SHUT OFF I TRIED TO RESTART BUT NOTHING HAPPENED. I DISCONNECTED BATTERY TO RESET CPU THAT DID NOT WORK. I STOPPED BY AUTO ZONE TO GET CODES SCANNED . THEY TOLD ME EVERY SYSTEM WAS REPORTING FAILURE AND NEEDS TO GO TO DEALER. AFTER RESTART EVERY THING WAS NORMAL. AFTER 100 YARDS DOWN THE STREET IT ALL HAPPENED AGAIN. PULLED INTO STORE PARKING LOT, TURNED JEEP OFF AND WOULD NOT RESTART TILL 4TH TRY. DROVE IT STRAIT TO DEALER IN FIRST GEAR WITH ALL. THEY SAID THAT IT WAS TIPM AND NOT UNDER WARRANTY, GAVE MA A RENTAL CAR FOR 10 DAYS BECAUSE PART IS ON BACK ORDER. AFTER 10 DAYS CHRYSLER QUIT PAYING FOR RENTAL CAR AND STILL HAVE NO PART TO FIX JEEP IT HAS BEEN 16 DAYS. I GUESS THERE ARE ALOT OF FAILURES FOR THE TIPM CAUSING BACK ORDER AND DO NOT KNOW WHEN THEY WILL GET ONE.
YESTERDAY WHEN DRIVING MY JEEP TO THE GAS STATION ALL OF THE WARNING LIGHTS STARTED TURNING ON AND THE JEEPS BATTERY LIGHT TURNED ON. KNOWING THAT IT COULD BE A PROBLEM WITH THE ALTERNATOR I HEADED HOME IMMEDIATELY. A BLOCK FROM MY HOUSE IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION THE BATTERY FINALLY DIED THANKFULLY SOMEONE WAS ABLE TO PUSH ME OUT OF THE INTERSECTION BECAUSE IT WAS DARK OUT AND I DIDN'T HAVE ANY LIGHTS. I HAD THE CAR CHECKED AND IT IS THE ALTERNATOR. I SEARCHED ONLINE AND FOUND THAT THERE IS A RECALL FOR A PENTASTAR 3.6 L V6 ALTERNATORS BUT I'M BEING TOLD THAT MY VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. BY SPECIFICALLY EXCLUDING MY VEHICLE FROM THE RECALL THEY HAVE RISKED MY SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF THOSE AROUND ME.
AIR BAG LIGHT AND WARNING IS GOING ON AND OFF WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL. DEALER SAYS THE CLOCK SPRING NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THERE IS A RECALL ON RIGHT HAND DRIVE VEHICLES AND NUMEROUS REPORTS OF ALL CLOCK SPRINGS FAILING.
THE TIPM UNIT WENT OUT, CAUSING LOTS OF ISSUES. THE ISSUES WE'RE AWARE OF ARE: THE DOORS WOULDN'T LOCK, SHIFTER WAS STUCK IN PARK, RADIO/CD/BLUETOOTH WOULDN'T WORK, AND THE FRONT HEADLIGHTS WOULDN'T TURN OFF LEADING TO A COMPLETE DRAIN OF THE BATTERY. THANKFULLY, THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND THIS DIDN'T HAPPEN WHILE WE WERE DRIVING IT (IT COULD HAVE BEEN VERY DANGEROUS IF IT DID). IT COST US $1100.00 TO REPLACE THE TIPM UNIT, WHICH WAS A HUGE FINANCIAL BURDEN ON US, BUT EVEN WORSE WAS THAT WE HAD TO GO WITHOUT THE JEEP (ONE OF OUR MAIN MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION) FOR ALMOST TWO MONTHS BECAUSE THERE'S A WAITING LIST FOR THE REPLACEMENT PART. WE CHECKED WITH 3 DIFFERENT REPAIR SHOPS JUST TO BE SURE, AND ALL SAID THE SAME THING: 1.) THAT THERE'S A WAITING LIST AT LEAST 40 PEOPLE LONG FOR THIS TIPM UNIT, AND 2.) THAT THEY'VE BEEN SEEING JEEP WRANGLERS LEFT & RIGHT FOR THIS SAME EXACT PROBLEM, AND THERE'S A WAITING LIST BECAUSE THE PART CAN'T EVEN BE MANUFACTURED QUICKLY ENOUGH TO KEEP UP WITH THE DEMAND. I KNOW THE TIPM UNIT HAS BEEN RECALLED FOR JEEP CHEROKEES, BUT WHY NOT JEEP WRANGLER WHEN THIS IS CLEARLY A MAJOR ISSUE FOR IT AS WELL??
FAULTY TIPM.. HAVING TROUBLE WITH VEHICLE NOT STARTING. THE STARTING ISSUE STARTED IN 10/2015 BUT WASN'T A REGULAR ISSUE TIL 01/2016. BROUGHT TO DEALERSHIP AS IS IS A NEWER MODEL WITH ONLY 27000 MILES ON IT. THEY REPLACED A SENTRY MODULE..PROBLEM PERSISTED. NOW BEING TOLD IT'S THE TIPM. APPARENTLY THIS IS A WIDE SPREAD ISSUE AND WAS TOLD TO REPORT IT.. STILL WAITING TO SEE IF COVERED UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY..
WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT ON MY RESIDENTIAL STREET MY ENGINE STALLED AND I LOST ALL POWER TO THE VEHICLE. I HAD NO POWER FOR LIGHTS, FLASHERS, TURN SIGNALS, INTERIOR LIGHTS, ETC. BASICALLY, THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALLY DEAD. I WAS CLOSE ENOUGH TO PUSH THE JEEP TO MY RESIDENCE AND CHECKED THE BATTERY AND I HAD FULL VOLTAGE. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND IT WAS DIAGNOSED AS A FAULTY TIPM. FORTUNATELY, I WAS NOT ON THE INTERSTATE DOING INTERSTATE SPEEDS AT NIGHT...
2012 JEEP WRANGLER HAVE HAD INTERMITTENT TROUBLE FOR WELL OVER A YEAR. TURN CAR OFF AND HEADLIGHTS STAY ON. FINALLY FIGURED OUT THAT IF I TURN THE CAR BACK ON AND ROLL FORWARD A LITTLE I CAN SOMETIMES TURN LIGHTS OFF. SAME PROBLEM TURNING THE HEADLIGHTS ON. ROLLING THE CAR A FEW INCHES USUALLY CORRECTED THE HEADLIGHTS. WINDSHIELD WIPERS WILL START ON THEIR OWN OR STOP DURING USE WITH NO WARNING. THIS BEGAN IN LATE 2014 BUT THE PROBLEM WAS SO INTERMITTANT WE COULD NOT DUPLICATE IT ON DEMAND UNTIL AUGUST 2015. THE DEALER REPLACED THE MULTI FUNCTION SWITCH AND WIRING HARNESS BUT BEFORE WE EVEN DROVE OUT OF THE PARKING LOT BOTH THE LIGHTS AND WINDSHIELD WIPERS WERE DOING THE SAME THING. THEY KEPT IT A FEW DAYS AND "SEALED THE CLUSTER". DIDN'T HAVE A PROBLEM FOR A FEW WEEKS AND THE CAR IS NOW 700 MILES AWAY AT SCHOOL WITH DAUGHTER. AROUND SEPT 2015 INTERMITTENT ISSUES AGAIN BUT NOT ABLE TO DUPLICATE AT DEALER. RECENTLY (JAN 2016) THE PROBLEMS ARE DAILY AND INCLUDE THE HEADLIGHTS GOING OUT EVERY TIME THE CAR MAKES A TURN AND THEN COME BACK ON A FEW SECONDS LATER. IN ADDITION THE TURN SIGNAL CUTS OFF. WINDSHIELD WIPERS HAVE A MIND OF THEIR OWN BUT THE LIGHTS ARE THE MOST DANGEROUS PROBLEM. NOW THAT THE PROBLEM IS CONSTANT IT'S GOING BACK TO A DEALER BUT BECAUSE THE CAR IS WITH DAUGHTER AWAY AT SCHOOL IT WILL BE A DIFFERENT DEALER. WE ARE UNCERTAIN ABOUT TAIL LIGHTS BECAUSE THIS OCCURS WHILE DRIVING AND INTERMITTENTLY BUT THE HEADLIGHTS AND TURN SIGNAL GOING OFF WHILE DRIVING THROUGH INTERSECTIONS HAS MADE THIS ISSUE A MAJOR ACCIDENT/INJURY RISK.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE COOLING SYSTEM STOPPED WORKING AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS CASTING SAND IN THE COOLING SYSTEM, WHICH CLOGGED UP THE RADIATOR, THE WATER PUMP, OIL COOLER, HEATER CORE, AND THE COOLING PART OF THE ENGINE. THE DEALER STATED THAT ALL THE CLOGGED PARTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND STATED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY AND THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000.
VEHICLE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AFTER STARTING ENGINE AND DRIVING 30 FEET FROM INITIAL PARKED LOCATION. VEHICLE WAS STOPPED AND EXPLOSION OCCURRED UNDER THE HOOD WHILE DRIVER WAS STILL IN VEHICLE. NO PREVIOUS INDICATION THERE WAS ANY ISSUE WITH VEHICLE. UPON DRIVER EMERGENCY EXIT OF VEHICLE, FURTHER EXPLOSIONS AND LARGE FLAMES ENGULFED THE VEHICLE RESULTING IN A TOTAL LOSS OF VEHICLE WITHIN MINUTES.
FAULTY CLOCKSPRING AIRBAG LIGHT APPEARS SPORADICALLY WHEN VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND I HAVE SOMEONE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, NOTIFYING ME THAT THEIR AIRBAG IS DEACTIVATED. HORNS VOLUME IS WEAK. POSSIBLY A COINCIDENCE, BUT THE LOW TIRE PRESSURE ALERT APPEARS AT START-UP. ALL TIRES (GOODYEAR LT285/70R17) READ 45-50 PSI. THIS PART IS RECALLED IN 2007 AND 2008 JEEP WRANGLERS, BUT NOT FOR 2009-2016. IT IS THE EXACT SAME PART.
TPIM MODULE HAS FAILED CAUSING SEVERAL STRANGE ISSUES WITH THE CAR. MOST NOTABLE FOR SAFETY IS THE FRONT WINDSHIELD WIPER PUMP WILL NOT WORK.
2012 RIGHT HAND DRIVE JEEP EXHIBITING ALL THE SYMPTOMS DESCRIBED IN RECALL OF OF OTHER 2012 MODELS WITH AIRBAG CLOCK PROBLEM, BUT VIN NUMBER DOES NOT APPEAR IN RECALLS. AIRBAG LIGHT IS NO LONGER INTERMITTENT BUT RATHER IS NOW ON CONTINUOUSLY.
3RD GEAR DROPS INTO 4TH GEAR VERY EASILY AT TIMES WHEN STANDING STILL. IN 4WD LOW IF YOU THINK YOU IN NEUTRAL BUT ARE IN 4TH GEAR WHEN RELEASING THE CLUTCH WHICH MAKES THE VEHICLE DRIVE FORWARD. THIS COULD BE LIFE THREATENING.
2012 JEEP WRANGLER WAS PUT IN NEUTRAL AND STARTED WITH THE EBRAKE UP. I LET UP ON THE CLUTCH AS I EXITED THE VEHICLE. AS SOON AS MY FEET HIT THE GROUND, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED AT FULL SPEED AND DROVE 60 FT, CRASHING COMPLETELY THROUGH THE GARAGE DOOR AND RIPPING IT OFF. JEEP CLAIMS THAT THE VEHICLE IS IN PROPERLY FUNCTIONING CONDITION SINCE THEY CANNOT REPEAT THIS INDEPENDENT ACCELERATION.
THE DEATH WOBBLE IS A TERRIFYING EXPERIENCE, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT OCCURS FOR THE FIRST TIME. SO FAR, THE ISSUE HAS OCCURRED AT 40-50 MPH ON A TWO WAY ROAD. DURING THE SEVERAL TIMES THAT IT HAS OCCURRED, I THOUGHT THAT A CRASH WOULD BE INEVITABLE IF I DIDN'T STOP THE CAR RIGHT AWAY. THE STEERING IS BARELY CONTROLLABLE AND IT GETS TO THE POINT WHERE YOU THINK THAT THE CAR WILL SWERVE OFF THE ROAD OR LIKELY FLIP. I AM NOT ONLY WORRIED ABOUT MY OWN SAFETY, BUT ALSO THE SAFETY OF OTHER ON THE ROAD. I HAVE BEEN LUCKY AND HAVE BEEN ABLE TO STOP THE CAR IN TIME. I AM VERY HESITANT TO LET ANYONE DRIVE THE VEHICLE BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE. IF YOU ARE NOT EXPECTING IT, THE WOBBLE IS TRULY TERRIFYING. I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT A COMPANY HAS SUCH POOR DESIGN QUALITY. THIS ISSUE SHOULD BE ACKNOWLEDGED BY THE COMPANY AND A FIX SHOULD BE PROVIDED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT. LESS THAN A YEAR AFTER TAKING THE VEHICLE TO THE MECHANIC, THE ISSUE HAS RESURFACED AND NOW IT IS EVEN WORSE. IT TRULY IS A SAFETY CONCERN AT THIS POINT.

THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V176000 (AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,500.

THE HORN DOES NOT WORK. ALL CONTROLS ON THE STEERING WHEEL ARE NOT WORKING. (CRUISE CONTROL, RADIO VOLUME AND TUNING, RESET BUTTONS) THE SIGNAL LIGHTS DO NOT TURN OFF AUTOMATICALLY. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON, AND THE AIR BAG LIGHT ALSO STAYS ON. A DIAGNOSTICS WAS PERFORMED SHOWING CLOCK SPRING NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. MY COMPLAINT IS THAT THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN. MY JEEP IS A RIGHT-HAND DRIVE WHICH I USE FOR MAIL DELIVERY. CHRYSLER COVERED THE COST WITH HALF A WARRANTY THE FIRST TIME. THIS WAS AUGUST 2014 WITH 68000 MILES. THE SECOND TIME WAS DECEMBER 2015 WITH 86000 MILES. CHRYSLER IS SAYING THEY CAN NOT HELP. THIS HAS BEEN A RECALL ON OTHER RIGHT HAND DRIVE JEEPS IN MY POST OFFICE. MINE IS DOING THE SAME THING, THEREFORE I FEEL THAT IT SHOULD BE COVERED FULLY TO BE REPLACED.
