The clock spring has failed. There is a current recall for the clock spring mechanisms in the 2011-2016 Jeep Wranglers. The vehicle has been inspected by a mechanic who informed me of the recall to begin with. The fuse for the clock spring (along with all the other fuses) are working as normal. There was no warning lights prior to the clock spring failure (however, I've been told that it's normal). The issue arose on 08/07/25. The 'step' button, 'reset' button, channel change paddle, volume change paddle, and the horn don't work. The airbag also might not work (haven't tested it out frankly). The cruise control buttons seem to work however I don't use cruise control in this vehicle. The vehicle is a 2017 RHD Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport.
While folding and folding rear seats the middle seat belt snapped at the anchor.
My seat belt is always loose and i have to jam it back in place all the time. I noticed an oil spot on the floor of my garage and it looks like it's the oil cooler housing that is bad. Both of these items are recalled but my vin shows It's not.
Airbag light continually goes off and on with alerting beep and light

2017 Jeep wrangler with 40,000 miles. Passenger Side Impact - No Air Bags. 1. the Safety restraint system. The Vehicle is now repaired and yes I'd like the EDR record examined for deployment criteria. Threshold, side safeing, Algorithm, etc. 2. My safety was at risk, No air bags deployed, I suffered bruising and I hit my head on the driver side window. 3. No, the Restraint Control Module/EDR record was not investigated. 4. No, the system was not indicating any air bag tell tale lights and was functioning normal. Heading North on ..., traveling 40 - 45 MPH, was broadsided by a vehicle traveling West on ... @ 30 MPH . My airbags did not deploy.
The airbag clockspring is defective. I know other years have a recall on the defective part. The cost of labor and the cost of the part is too expensive. I consider this a safety issue and feel like it should be under a recall like the previous model years.
Airbag didn’t deploy and seatbelt didn’t lock with the collision

I had already had to replace 2 rear seat belts in my wrangler over a year ago. Both seat belts tore completely in half. The cost for the seat belts alone was 500. A year later, I had another seat belt rip in half. One that was already replaced ripped right in half again. I only occasionally have had anyone in the back seat. Possibly once a week. Now, I cannot put anyone, especially children in the back seat of my 4 door, so called 5 passenger jeep because it is not safe. the seat belts fray and rip.
