Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2012 Land Rover Range Rover vehicles originally sold, or ever registered, in Alabama, California, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Texas, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands (Saipan) and the U.S. Virgin Islands, or "Zone A." Additionally, Land Rover is recalling certain 2009 Land Rover Range Rover vehicles, originally sold, or ever registered, in Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia, or "Zone B." Additionally, Land Rover is recalling certain 2007-2008 Land Rover Range Rover vehicles originally sold, or ever registered in Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Idaho, Iowa, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, New Hampshire, New York, North Dakota, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming. These vehicles are equipped with certain air bag inflators assembled as part of the passenger frontal air bag modules, and used as original equipment or replacement equipment. In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the front air bags, these inflators may rupture due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to absolute humidity and temperature cycling.
Remedy Status
Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front passenger air bag assemblies, free of charge. The recall began December 18, 2017. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is P082.
Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain model year 2007-2011 Land Rover Range Rover vehicles originally sold, or ever registered, in Alabama, California, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Texas, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands (Saipan), and the U.S. Virgin Islands, or "Zone A." Additionally, unless included in "Zone A" above, Land Rover is recalling certain model year 2007-2008 Land Rover Range Rover vehicles, originally sold, or ever registered, in Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia, or "Zone B." Vehicles not originally sold or ever registered in either Zones A or B are not subject to this safety recall. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain model year 2006-2012 Land Rover Range Rover vehicles manufactured April 15, 2005, to September 4, 2012. One or both of the flexible front brake hoses may rupture causing loss of brake fluid.
Remedy Status
Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will replace the left and right front brake hoses, free of charge. The recall began on July 28, 2015. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is P054.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WAS NO DEALER IN ALASKA TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE; THEREFORE, THE VEHICLE WOULD HAVE TO BE TAKEN TO SEATTLE. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO HAD BEEN REPAIRING RANGE ROVERS IN ALASKA. HOWEVER, DUE TO THE MANUFACTURER NOT REIMBURSING THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR REPAIRS PERFORMED IN THE PAST, THE CONTACT WAS DENIED REPAIRS. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE TIRE PRESSURE, SYSTEM SUSPENSION, BONNET, BRAKE, TRANSMISSION, DYNAMIC STABILITY CONTROL, AND ELECTRONIC TRACTION CONTROL WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED CONTINUOUSLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ONLY WAY THE INDICATORS SHUT OFF WAS BY TURNING OFF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LAND ROVER TAMPA (11301 N FLORIDA AVE, TAMPA, FL 33612, (813) 930-2505) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS BEING RESET. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED TWO DAYS LATER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE RESET. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AGAIN, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,906.

I RECEIVED A RECALL RE:SAFETY RECALL P081: TAKATA PASSENGER AIRBAGS ON JULY 29, 2016. THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT REPLACED THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. PLEASE UPDATE THE STATUS OF THE REPAIR.
TAKATA RECALL. THIS CAR IS KEPT IN SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, WHERE THERE ARE LARGE FLUCTUATIONS OF TEMPERATURE AND PERIODS OF HIGH HUMIDITY IN BOTH SUMMER AND WINTER. THE CAR IS TEN YEARS OLD. THE DEADLINE FOR RECEIPT OF NEW, NON-DEFECTIVE AIRBAG KEEPS GETTING PUSHED BACK. THE LATEST IS "MAYBE THIS YEAR" (PER RANGE ROVER REPRESENTATIVE KATHLEEN VACCARRO, 201 818 8080). WHEN PRESSED, VACCARRO CONCEDES THAT WHAT IT BOILS DOWN TO IS THAT RANGE ROVER HAS MADE THE JUDGMENT THAT IT IS OK FOR ITS CUSTOMERS TO BE DRIVING A VEHICLE WITH A DEFECTIVE AIRBAG FOR AN INDEFINITE PERIOD OF TIME. WHEN PRESSED, SHE CONCEDES (AS ANYONE HAS TO CONCEDE) THAT NO-ONE KNOWS THE POINT AT WHICH THE INFLATOR WILL HAVE DEGRADED AND WILL EXPLODE. IF I WANTED TO GO SKYDIVING AND TRUST THAT THE PARACHUTE USUALLY OPENS, THEN THAT IS MY DECISION. WHAT RANGE ROVER IS DOING IS MAKING THAT DECISION FOR ME, AGAINST MY WILL. ALSO, IT MAY OF AFFECTED MY VEHICLE'S ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SINCE MY GPS DASHBOARD SYSTEM NO LONGER WORKS ANYMORE. I WOULD KINDLY ASK SOMEONE TO REACH OUT TO ME VIA CELL PHONE SO THAT I CAN GET MY LAND ROVER REPAIRED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THANKS!

I WAS DRIVING AT A SPEED OF ABOUT 25MPH ON A CITY STREET AND BEGAN TO BRAKE GENTLY AS I WAS APPROACHING A RED LIGHT. THE DISTANCE BETWEEN MY CAR AND THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME AT THE TIME I BEGAN BRAKING WAS OVER 3-CARS-LENGTH, BUT NOT MORE THAN 4. THIS WAS NOT AN ABRUPT STOP. AS I APPLIED THE BRAKE I COULD FEEL IT BEGAN TO SHUDDER AND THE CAR WAS NOT SLOWING DOWN. I PRESSED THE BRAKE MORE FIRMLY AND WHILE IT DID RESPOND MORE SO THAN BEFORE, THE CAR WAS BY NO MEANS SLOWING DOWN AT A FAST ENOUGH RATE CONSIDERING HOW LONG I HAD BEEN APPLYING THE BRAKE AND THE FACT THAT I WAS ONLY TRAVELING AT 25MPH TO BEGIN WITH. I FELT A PULSATING THAT BECAME INCREASINGLY PRONOUNCED AND EVENTUALLY THE BRAKE FELT AS THOUGH IT WAS LOCKED IN PLACE AND UNRESPONSIVE TO MY APPLICATION OF FURTHER PRESSURE. THE CAR WAS SLOWING DOWN BUT IT WAS NOT DOING SO AT THE NORMAL RATE. IT WOULD HAVE LIKELY REQUIRED 2-3 TIMES THE NORMAL DISTANCE TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. HOWEVER, THE BRAKES WERE TOO INEFFECTIVE TO HAVE REASONABLY ANTICIPATED (BY A LONG SHOT) AND I REAR ENDED THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME THAT HAD COME TO NEARLY A COMPLETE STOP AT THAT POINT. AT THE TIME OF IMPACT MY CAR HAD ONLY SLOWED DOWN BY AT THE MOST 70%. BOTH MY CAR AND THE CAR I REAR ENDED WERE TOTALED. AT NO TIME PRIOR TO OR UPON IMPACT DID ANY WARNING LIGHT OR INDICATOR APPEAR ON THE CAR. NOTHING FOREWARNED ME THAT MY BRAKES WERE AT ALL COMPROMISED. THE CAR WAS TOTALED AND DMV RECORDS WILL SHOW ALL OF THAT INFO. THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM THAT COULD BE CATASTROPHIC IF NOT INVESTIGATED. RANGE ROVERS ARE EXTREMELY HEAVY VEHICLES WHICH MAKES A BREAKING SYSTEM FAILURE EVEN MORE DANGEROUS THAN IT ALREADY IS. LAND ROVER HAS DENIED ANY DEFECTS OR OTHER MANUFACTURER FAULTS. I WAS INJURED WITH PERMANENT NECK PAIN LIKELY AS A RESULT OF THE AIRBAGS FAILURE TO DEPLOY. AND THE PASSENGERS IN THE IMPACTED VEHICLE SUSTAINED NOTABLE INJURIES AS WELL.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE THE COMPRESSOR KIT, THE MACPHERSON STRUT, AND THE RADIATOR TANK WERE REPLACED. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON THE DRIVER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE APPROXIMATELY ONE MONTH AFTER THE INITIAL REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER, WHO STATED THAT THE PARTS THAT WERE PREVIOUSLY REPLACED WERE DEFECTIVE AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED APPROXIMATELY THREE MONTHS LATER. AS A RESULT, THE ELECTRICAL FUNCTIONS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE FAILED TO OPERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,000.
ABOUT TWO MONTHS AGO I STARTED THE SUV AND ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE TO A NEAR BY STORE. AFTER PULLING OUT OF MY SMALL SUBDIVISION, I NOTICED THE CAR WOULDN'T ACCELERATE AND WAS MAKING AN AWFUL METAL-TICKING TYPE SOUND (LIKE METAL-ON-METAL). I THEN NOTICED SMOKE POURING OUT FROM UNDERNEATH THE FRONT OF THE CAR. I COULD NOT SEE WHAT COLOR IT WAS SINCE IT WAS DARK OUT. I THEN IMMEDIATELY TURNED AROUND, DROVE HOME, AND TURNED THE CAR OF. TOTAL TRIP TIME WAS APPROXIMATELY 5 MINUTES, TOTAL DISTANCE WAS APPROXIMATELY 1 MILE. WHEN I GOT HOME AND GOT OUT OF THE CAR, I NOTICED A DARK LIQUID POURING OUT OF THE BOTTOM-CENTER PART OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. I ALSO SAW A TRAIL OF DARK LIQUID FROM MY DRIVE HOME UPON RE-ENTERING MY SUBDIVISION. THE NEXT DAY, I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE LAST INDEPENDENT MECHANIC SHOP THAT WORKED ON THE CAR (IN CASE IT WAS THEIR FAULT), AND WHEN THE CAR WAS HOISTED ONTO THE FLAT-BED, TONS OF OIL POURED OUT FROM THAT SAME AREA, IN THE BOTTOM-CENTER REGION OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. WHEN THE MECHANICS GOT AROUND TO INSPECTING THE CAR, THEY SAID THAT A CONNECTING ROD HAD BROKEN INSIDE THE MOTOR AND PUNCHED A HOLE THROUGH THE BOTTOM-SIDE OF THE BLOCK, WHICH IS PROBABLY WHY I HEARD THAT METAL-TICKING NOISE AND ALSO WHY LIQUID, OR MOTOR OIL, BEGAN SPILLING OUT THE BOTTOM OF THE ENGINE. THE MECHANICS SAID THAT THIS TYPE OF ISSUE COULD BE CAUSE BY NOT HAVING ENOUGH OIL IN THE MOTOR AND CAN ALSO BE DUE TO THE ENGINE'S AGE. THEY INSISTED THAT, THOUGH IT'S VERY ODD THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED LESS THAN 800 MILES AFTER THEY CHANGED THE OIL, THEY WERE EXTREMELY THOROUGH AND CAREFUL, AND EXPLAINED TO ME THEIR OIL CHANGING PROCEDURES, WHICH WAS MORE COMPLEX THAN I WOULD HAVE IMAGINED (REMOVING OLD OIL AND FILTER, ADDING NEW OIL AND FILTER, STARTING CAR TO WARM UP, DRIVING CAR, CHECKING OIL LEVEL AGAIN, ETC.). *TR

RECALL WAS ON 2006 GO FIGURE..... I'M VERY UPSET THE CORPORATE OFFICE COULDN'T DO ANY THING. MIND U I JUST CHANGED OUT AIR SUSPENSION THE PREVIOUS MONTH. I WILL BE WRITING TO EVERY ONLINE CO. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS TOLD A FAILURE OCCURRED WITHIN THE AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE AUTHORIZED DEALER A TOTAL OF 5 TIMES WHERE VARIOUS REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED ON THE SUSPENSION SYSTEM. THE FAILURE CONTINUES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 21,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 24,000.
