MOONROOF LEAKING ON THE PASSENGER SIDE WHENEVER IT RAINS.
THE PASSANGER HEADLIGHTS STARTED TO FOG UP, THEN THE DRIVER. CONTACTED LINCOLN THEY SAID THERES WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT IT. I HAVE TALKED TO OTHER LINCOLN LS OWNERS AND THEY SAID THEY HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. LINCOLN SATED THAT I SOULD JUST BUY NEW ONES AT 295.99 A HEADLIGHT PLUS INSTALL.*AK
CONSUMER STATED THE DRIVER'S SIDE "SIDE AIR BAG" DEPLOYED WITHOUT WARNING OR ANY VEHICLE IMPACT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65MPH ON HIGHWAY. TS
THE HEADLIGHT COVERS ON THE VEHICLE COLLECT MOISTURE AND FOG OVER TO THE EXTENT THAT VISIBILITY IS IMPAIRED. THE MOISTURE DOES NOT GO AWAY, CLEAR UP, OR DISPERSE. THE DEALER SAYS THAT THERE IS NO FIX FOR THE PROBLEM, ALTHOUGH IT HAS BEEN REPORTED IN A TECH. SERVICE BULLETIN FROM LINCOLN IN JANUARY, 2002. THE HEADLIGHTS ON THE AUTO ARE INEFFECTIVE WITH THE MOISTURE BUILD-UP. IT IS AN UNSAFE CONDITION. TS
CAR HAS BEEN BACK TO DEALER AT LEAST 6 TIMES FOR TRANSMISSION NOT SHIFTING PROPERLY AND JERKING INTO GEAR HARSLY- I AM BEING PUT OFF BY DEALER..CAR HAS DONE THIS CONTINUOUS..HAS BEEN TO THREE DEALERSHIPS AND NONE CAN RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM. I FEEL THIS IS SUCH A SAFETY PROBLEM FOR ME AND MY CHILD. THERE COULD HAVE BEEN AN ACCIDENT ON THREE DIFFERENT OCCASSIONS. I HAVE BEGGED THE DEALER TO JUST PUT ME IN ANOTHER 2000 LINCOLN LS. I BOUGHT THE CAR JUNE OF 2002- CAR IMMEDIATELY STARTED THIS PROBLEM AND HAS CONTINUED. I PAID 23,900 FOR MY CAR 6 MONTHS AGO AND DEALER TODAY TELLS ME HE WILL GIVE ME 15,000.00 FOR MY CAR AND WILL PUT ME IN ANOTHER LINCOLN LS FOR 3600.00 MORE DOLLARS. PLEASE HELP- I HAVE CONTACTED LINCOLN TO START A DISPUTE SETTLEMENT. I FEEL THIS IS MORE A SAFETY HAZARD THAN ANYTHING.

POWER WINDOW FAILED WITHIN A WEEK AFTER WARRENTY DEALER REFUSED TO REPAIR EVENTHOUGH THIS MODEL HAS WELL DOCUMENTED HISTORY OF SUCH FAILURES.*AK
ONE OF THE TIRES WAS LOSING AIR DUE TO A SIDE WALL PLUG THAT WAS INSTALLED BY THE DEALER WITHOUT THE CONSUMER'S KNOWLEDGE. THE TIRE WAS REPLACED. (GOODYEAR TIRE) *YH. CONSUMERS CO-WORKER NOTICED THAT THE TIRE WAS LOW, AIR WAS THEN PUT IN THE TIRE, HOWEVER IT WAS THEN DISCOVERED THAT A FINISHING NAIL WAS EMBEDDED IN THE SIDEWALL, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE GOODYEAR DEALER, AND THE MECHANIC KEPT THE TIRE FOR A FEW HOURS TO PERFORM A TEST, HE THEN STATED THE NAIL DID NOT GO THROUGH THE TIRE AND IT WAS NOT NECESSARY TO PATCH OR PURCHASE A NEW TIRE, ON MONDAY JUNE 24, 2002, CONSUMER NOTICED THE TIRE WAS LOW AGAIN, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO GOODYEAR, AND THE MECHANIC STATED HE WOULD INVESTIGATE THE TIRE FURTHER, THE MECHANICS DISCOVERED THAT THE TIRE HAD A SIDEWALL PLUG AND STATED THAT IT WAS NOT RECOMMENDED TO REPAIR THE TIRE IN THAT MANNER OR EVEN DRIVE WITH THAT TYPE OF REPAIR, A NEW TIRE WOULD NEED TO BE PURCHASED BECAUSE IT WAS ILLEGAL TO PATCH OR PLUG IN THE SIDEWALL, THE DEALER CLAIMS THAT THEY NEVER PLUGGED OR PATCH THE SIDEWALL.(GOODYEAR TIRES)*JB *JG
WHILE TRAVELING ABOUT 55MPH ON HIGHWAY VEHICLE OVERHEATED. AND SHUT DOWN WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED.
ALL FOUR TIRES ARE CUPPING, AND AT 27000 MILES MANUFACTURER WANTS TO REPLACE THE TIRES. P215/60R16, ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT, 27000 MILES MOUNTED ON LINCOLN LS, 2000. *AK CONSUMER STATED THAT THE TIRES HAD BEEN ROTATED THREE TIMES BUT ALL FOUR TIRES WERE CUPPED AND SHOWS WEAR. *YH
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 LINCOLN LS. WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 5-20 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A SQUEAKING NOISE ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE LOWER BALL JOINT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, BUT DID NOT GIVE AN EXPLANATION. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 00V359001 (SUSPENSION:FRONT:CONTROL ARM:LOWER BALL JOINT). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 105,000.
VEHICLE HIT A BUMP IN THE ROAD AND INSTANTLY AFTER CONSUMER HEARD A LOUD BANG AND FELT A QUICK STING ON LEFT SIDE AT THE HIP AREA, WHILE PULLING VEHICLE OVER CONSUMER REALIZED THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED, AND THE TOXIC GAS WAS SEEPING OUT. DEALER WAS NOTIFIED, AND VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED.*AK *JB
WHEN PUTTING VEHICLE IN DRIVE IT SURGES FORWARD AND WHEN IN REVERSE THE VEHICLE SURGES BACKWARDS. THE DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. *AK THE DEALER REPLACED THE PCV VALVE YET THE PROBLEM STILL EXIST, THE DEALER THEN DETERMINED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS DEFECTIVE WHICH CAUSED THE SURGING *MJ
WHILE TRAVELING AT 80 MPH DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG DEPOLYED WITHOUT ANY WARNING. *AK
WHILE DRIVING ON A SMOOTH STRAIGHT SECTION OF INTERSTATE 75 AT 80 MPH I APPARENTLY RAN OVER A PIECE OF METAL WHICH FLIPPED UP AND HIT THE UNDER SIDE OF THE CAR UNDER THE DRIVERS SEAT TOWARD THE OUTSIDE. THEN THE SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE STRIKING MY UPPER ARM,CAUSING A LARGE BRUISE. I WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE CAR. I CHECKED FOR DAMAGE AT THE NEXT LIGHTED EXIT. FINDING NONE I PROCEEDED ON MY TRIP HOME. THE NEXT MORNING I DROVE TO THE LINCOLN DEALER. THEY DISCOVERED A 2-3 INCH GASH UNDER THE DRIVERS SEAT AND SAID THAT CAUSED THE AIR BAG TO DEPLOY. THEY DENIED A WARRENTY CLAIM FOR THE REPAIR AND REFUSED TO STATE IN WRITING THAT THE IMPACT TO THE UNDER SIDE OF THE CAR CAUSED THE AIR BAG TO DEPLOY PROPERLY AND THEREFOR WAS NOT A COVERED DEFECT. AT THIS TIME I AM TRYING TO CONTACT THE LINCOLN 800 NUNBER TO GET THE REPAIR COVERED UNDER THE WARRENTY AND HAVE THE PROBLEM CHECKED INTO FOR OTHER DRIVER'S SAFETY.*AK

VEHICLE WAS SLOWING DOWN/ GOING 8MPH, AND WAS NOT STOPPING. BRAKES FELT FINE. DIAGNOSTIC TEST COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG TECHNICALLY. VEHICLE'S COMPUTER MAY HAVE A DEFECT THAT DEALER CAN'T DETECT.*AK

VEHICLE HAD A BLOWOUT WITH FIRESTONE BRAND TIRES (FIREHAWK LH P215/60 R16 94V)THAT SEEMS TO HAVE THE SAME STRUCTURAL DAMAGE AS THOSE SEEN IN FORD EXPLORERS. *JG
CONSUMER STATES SEAT BELTS LOCK UP WITHOUT WARNING. DEALER NOTIFIED. *AK

SIDEWALL CAME COMPLETELY OFF THE TIRE. MILEAGE ON THE AUTOMOBILE AT THE TIME WAS 6,000 MILES. TIRE HAS NO WORN TREADS, NOR HAS THERE BEEN ANY ACCIDENTS OR INCIDENTS INVOLVED THAT WOULD CAUSE THIS TO HAPPEN.*AK (TIRESIZE: P215/60R16)

WIFE DRIVING, I'M PASSENGER. APPLIED BRAKES, HELF FIRMLY, WENT THRU STOP SIGN. LUCKY ! NEXT, AT RED LIGHT, CAR QUICKLY LURCHED FORWARD BUT WAS ABLE TO BRAKE BEFORE HITTING CAR IN FRONT. REPORTED THIS TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY REPORTED BACK THAT THEY LOOKED FOR ANY SUCH PROBLEMS IN THEIR COMPUTER SYSTEM AND "THERE WAS NONE." THIS IS MOST FRIGHTENING. WHAT SHOULD I DO?*AK

SUDDEN ACCELERATION WHILE IN STOP AND GO HEAVY TRAFFIC. THIS CAUSED VEHICLE TO REAR END ANOTHER VEHICLE, NO INJURY REPORTED. DEALER / MANUFACTURER NOTIFIED, AND STILL WAITING FOR THEIR RESPONSE. * AK *JB

I OWN A 2000 LINCOLN LS, I HAVE HAD AN ENTIRE ENGINE REPLACED. I HAVE ALSO HAD A TRANSMISSION REPLACED 2 TIMES. ALONG W/ REPLACING GASKETS WHICH LEAKED OIL AND SHORTED OUT THE PLUGS ETC. MAJOR THINGS! I HAVE HAD NUMEROUS WINDOW REGULATORS REPLACED. SEAT HEATER REPLACED AND HEADLIGHT COVERS THAT CONSTANTLY FOG W/ ANY MOISTURE STILL EVEN AFTER REPLACING SEVERAL TIMES. RADIO WAS REPLACED, ALONG W/ REAR BRAKE LIGHT BULBS SHORT OUT ALL THE TIME DUE TO MOISTURE IN REAR LIGHT COVERS! NOW MORE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS IN THE 1000'S OF DOLLARS. *LA
WHEN APPLYING PRESSURE TO BRAKE PEDAL PEDAL, IT WILL FALL TO THE FLOOR AND CONSUMERS FOOT WILL INADVERTENTLY HIT ACCELERATOR PEDAL. WHEN THIS PROBLEM OCCURRED FOR THE FOURTH TIME, HE HAD TO AVOID HITTING A PEDESTRIAN, AND CRASHED INTO A GARAGE DOOR, CAUSING $1,800.00 DAMAGE. DEALERSHIP EXAMINED VEHICLE, AND COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM. *AK *JB

UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS, THE RIGHT FRONT AND RIGHT REAR TIRES WERE MAKING A BUMPING NOISE. TOOK VEHICLE TO LOCAL TIRE SERVICE CENTER AND DISCOVERED BOTH TIRES WERE SEPARATING. REPLACED TIRES IMMEDIATELY DUE TO SAFETY CONCERNS. *AK (DOT NUMBER: W2X8 TIRESIZE: 2156016)

FRONT BUMPER AIR DEFLECTOR ON CAR HAS BEEN A MAJOR PROBLEMS SINCE WE FIRST DROVE CAR OFF THE LOT. WE ARE UNABLE TO DRIVE INTO ANY SHOPPING CENTER THAT HAS A SLIGHT INCLINE WITHOUT DRAGGING THE CAR. WE HAVE REPEATEDLY COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS AND ARE TOLD BY DEALER THAT CAR DOES NOT SIT TO LOW. HOWEVER I CAN NOT EVEN GO TO OUR NEIGHBORHOOD POST OFFICE WITHOUT SCRAPING THE UNDERCARRIAGE OF CAR. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WE HAVE HAD TO USE WIRE COATHANGERS TO REATTACH THE PLASTIC-LIKE PAN IN ORDER TO DRIVE THE VECHICLE. MY HUSBAND AND I ARE NOT "HOT-RODDERS" BUT 60+ SENIORS. WE DRIVE ONLY ON THE FREEWAYS AND IN RESIDENTIAL AREAS . AS THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM WE FEEL THAT EITHER WE HAVE A "LEMON" OR THAT THERE IS A MAJOR STRUCTURAL DEFECT IN THE SUSPENSION OF THIS VEHICLE . THE DAY WE WERE TO TAKE DELIVERY OF OUR CAR THE SALESPERSON CALLED TO NOTIFY US IT HAD TO GO TO THE BODY SHOP BECAUSE ONE OF THE DOORS WAS NOT ALIGNED PROPERLY. IN HINDSIGHT WE WONDER IF THAT IS WHERE OUR TROUBLES BEGAN AND IF POSSIBLY THIS PARTICULAR CAR WAS DROPPED OFF THE CARRIER? WE FEEL THAT HAVING TO RETURN THIS CAR TO THE DEALER 8 TIMES FOR VARIOUS PROBLEMS WITH MILEAGE OF ONLY 16000 IS EXCESSIVE.*AK

LEFT FRONT BALLJOINT SNAPPED INTO CAUSING LEFT FRONT WHEEL TO TURN SIDEWAYS WHICH CAUSED LOSS OF STEERING RESULTING IN LOSS OF CONTROL OF VEHICLE CAUSING VEHICLE TO SPIN INTO AND JUMP GUARDRAIL CAUSING NUMEROUS AMOUNTS OF DAMAGE.THERE WAS A RECALL IN DEC. OF 2000 TO CHECH TORQUE OF BALLJOINTS WHICH I HAD COMPLETED THE SAME MONTH. I WAS DEFINITLY LUCKY I DID NOT GET KILLED AS I ENDED UP ACROSS TWO LANES OF I75 .I HAVE TALKED TO SEVERAL BODYSHOP MANAGERS AND THEY EACH HAVE HAD SEVERAL INSTENCES OF THE BALLJOINTS SNAPPING OFF ON THESE VEHICLES. THERE SEEMS TO BE STRUCTURAL DEFECT HERE THAT LINCOLN KNOWS ABOUT,BUT IS NOT DOING ANYTHING TO CORRECT.
WHEN DRIVING 15-20 MPH AND UPON DEPRESSING BRAKE PEDAL TO MAKE A GRADUAL STOP VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED, CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. VEHICLE HIT A BRICK WALL IN WHICH DRIVER'S SIDE AND PASSENGER'S SIDE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. CONSUMER HAS CONTACTED DEALER. *AK
CONSUMER WAS TRAVELIG 35-40MPH AROUND A SMALL CURVE BRAKES WERE APPLIED SLIGHTLY AND LOCKED UP. BRAKES STOPPED THE WHEELS COMPLETELY, BUT VEHICLE KEPT GOING. VEHICLE WAS PULLING TO LEFT & BLEWOUT.*AK
ABOUT A MONTH AFTER CONSUMER PURCHASED VEHICLE MANUFACTURER STARTED TO INSTALL SOME EXTRA PROTECTION IN FRONT TO MAKE VEHICLE ABLE TO PASS A TEST. ALSO, GAVE IT MORE PROTECTION. CONTACTED DEALER,AND DEALER WAS NOT WILLING TO PUT THIS NEW SYSTEM ON. *AK
UPHILL AT 45 MPH VEHICLE LURCHED/TOOK OFF, APPLIED BRAKE FOR ABOUT 1/8 OF A MILE. BRAKES COULD NOT HOLD VEHICLE.WENT THROUGH TWO INTERSECTIONS BEFORE CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO STOP VEHICLE. DEALER HAD VEHICLE FOR 2 WEEKS, COULD NOT FIND CAUSE. CONSUMER NO LONGER FELT SAFE DRIVING VEHICLE. *AK
WAS SHIFTING INTO DRIVE WHEN TRANSMISSION STARTED TO WHINE & NOT SHIFT AT ALL. THEN SUDDENLY IT WOULD JERK HARD INTO GEAR. LATER WOULD TRY TO PASS ANOTHER VEHICLE, IT WOULD JERK HARD GOING INTO OVERDRIVE. COMPLAINED TO DEALERSHIP NUMEROUS TIMES, BUT NOT TAKEN SERIOUSLY. AFTER LAST COMPLAINTS INFORMED THAT VEHICLE NOT SAFE TO DRIVE IN THAT CONDITION. *AK
