THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 120,000.

2000 LINCOLN LS GAVE WARNINGS OF TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS, TRACTION CONTROL PROBLEMS, SERVICE ENGINE PROBLEMS. THE CAR WOULD DIE COMPLETELY AFTER ACCELERATION VIA STANDARD METHOD OR VIA CRUISE CONTROL.*AK MULTIPLE FORD DEALER VISITS HAD THE COILS REPLACED AND EXCESSIVE DIAGNOSTICS DONE BUT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEMS. DEALER WAS ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE CAR DYING IN NORMAL OPERATING SITUATIONS. FORD CLAIMED THAT THEY HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF SUCH A PROBLEM. LINCOLN DEALER KNEW THAT THE OIL COVERS LEAKED AND FILLED THE SPARK PLUG WELLS, IN TURN CAUSING ELECTRICAL SHORTS AND FAILURES.*AK
I JUST HAD TO REPLACE THE 4TH ELECTRICAL SPARK PLUG COIL (OUT OF 8) IN MY 2000 LINCOLN LS. COILS USUALLY DON'T FAIL. THIS ONE DID WHEN I WAS DRIVING UP INTO THE MOUNTAINS. THANKFULLY, I WASN'T PASSING ANYONE AT THE TIME, OTHERWISE, THINGS MAY HAVE GOTTEN UGLY. EACH REPAIR COSTS ABOUT $300, SO FOR ALL EIGHT CYLINDERS, I MAY END UP SPENDING $2400. I'VE NEVER HAD A CAR GO THROUGH COILS BEFORE. *JB
ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS MY LS WILL CRANK BUT WILL NOT START. THE ANTI-THEFT INDICATOR ON THE DASHBOARD FLASHES WHICH INDICATES THAT THE CAR WILL NOT START. I HAVE BEEN STRANDED ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS ONLY TO HAVE MY CAR TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT STARTS JUST FINE FOR THEM. I HAVE HAD THE FOLLOWING REPLACED: TRANSCEIVER, ANTI-THEFT MODULE, COMPUTER AND THE CABLES THAT CONNECT THE TRANSCEIVER TO THE COMPUTER. THE DEALER HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM. *JB
ON THREE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS SINCE FEBRUARY, AN IGNITION COIL HAS FAILED IN MY LS(# 2,3,AND 6). EACH TIME THE REPAIR HAS COST ALMOST $300, AND IN ADDITION SINCE THE DEALER THOUGHT A SMALL LEAK IN THE VALVE COVER GASKET MAY HAVE CAUSED THE PROBLEM WITH #3, THAT WAS REPLACED FOR AN ADDITIONAL $225. IN THE 45 YEARS I HAVE BEEN DRIVING, I HAVE NEVER HAD A COIL GO BAD. THERE IS CLEARLY A DEFECT IN THE ORIGINAL COILS OR ENGINE DESIGN. THE DEALER HAS INDICATED THAT THEY HAVE REPLACED MANY OF THESE ON LS'S. *AK
PROBLEMS WITH IGNITION COILS ON LINCOLN 2000 LS. *MR THERE WERE A NUMBER OF IGNITION COILS THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED ON THESE VEHICLE. (4/8/04 ONE COIL HAD TO BE REPLACED, ON 6/15/04 TWO MORE HAD TO BE REPLACED, AND WITHIN TWO WEEKS OF THAT, TWO MORE HAD GONE BAD) *SC *JB
MAJOR PROBLEMS WITH VEHICLE'S IGNITION COILS. *MR ON APRIL 18, 2004 THE SERVICE DEALER REPLACED ONE COIL. THEN ON JUNE 15, 2004 TWO MORE COILS WERE REPLACED. WITHIN TWO WEEKS, ANOTHER COIL OR MORE WENT BAD. THERE WAS RANDOM MISFIRES WHICH REMAINED THE SAME EVEN AFTER REPAIR, THEN IT WORKED FINE BUT WAS FOLLOWED BY THE VEHICLE RUNNING ROUGH. *SC *JB
WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A HEAD ON COLLISION AND THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. *AK THE SEAT BELT LIGHT WAS ON AND WAS ON AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT. *SC
WHEN TURNING ON SIGNAL LIGHT AND HAZARD FLASHING WARNING LIGHT VEHICLE WOULD SHUT DOWN WITHOUT WARNING. DEALER WAS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. MECHANIC COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *AK
THIS PAST APRIL I HAD TO TAKE MY CAR IN TO GET THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW REGULATOR FIXED. IT IS NOW JULY AND MY REAR PASSENGER WINDOW REGULATOR NOW NEEDS REPLACED. MY OTHER TWO WINDOWS WILL ALSO NEED TO BE FIXED IF I WERE TO ROLL THEM DOWN. FOR ALL MY REGULATORS TO GO OUT AT BASICALLY THE SAME TIME, TO ME MEANS THAT THERE IS A DEFECT WITH THESE PARTS. *PH
CONSUMER COMPLAINED ABOUT A REAR WINDOW PROBLEM. THE REAR WINDOW ON DRIVER'S SIDE WENT DOWN AND WOULD NOT GO BACK UP. THIS PROBLEM WAS CAUSED BY AN ELECTRICAL WIRING PROBLEM. *AK THE DEALER DETERMINED THAT THE WINDOW REGULATOR WAS JAMMED. THE DEALER REPLACED THE LEFT AND RIGHT REAR WINDOW REGULATOR. *NM
