MY 2007 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR MAY NEED RAIL CROSS-OVER HOSE BECAUSE IT CONTAINS WEAK AREAS. THE HOSE MAY CRACK, WHICH COULD CAUSE A FUEL ODOR AND/OR FUEL LEAK. THIS IS WHAT I'M SMELLING OUTSIDE OF MY TRUCK.
UNEXPLAINED ACCELERATION WITHOUT WARNING
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR. WHILE DRIVING AT 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 103,000. UPDATED 5/20/15*CN THE CONSUMER STATED THE MECHANIC ADVISED IF A SPARK WAS TO OCCUR THE VEHICLE COULD HAVE CAUGHT FIRE. UPDATED 9/17/2015*JS
WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN THE ENGINE SHUT OFF AND BARLEY GOT THROUGH THE TURN WITHOUT GETTING HIT BY ON COMING TRAFFIC. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO CLOSEST GARAGE AND CHECKED OUT. THE WIRES ON THE FUEL PUMP IN THE TANK WERE MELTED. CALLED LINCOLN AND THEY SAID THEY HAD NO RECALLS AND COULD NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT, AT THAT TEMPERATURE DON'T KNOW WHY IT DIDN'T EXPLODE OR START A FIRE SINCE IT IS SITTING IN THE GAS TANK.. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHERE THEY NOTICED THAT THE FUEL PUMP WAS MELTED AND WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED BECAUSE THE PART WOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL APPROXIMATELY ONE MONTH LATER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 104,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE FUEL PUMP HAD BECOME BURNED AND WOULD NEED REPLACING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL PUMP HAD TO BE REPLACED WITH AN AFTER MARKET FUEL PUMP BECAUSE THE ORIGINAL PART WAS NO LONGER BEING MANUFACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,704. *TR
MY 2007 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR ULTIMATE 4X4 ENGINE STOPPED RUNNING SUDDENLY LIKE IT RAN OUT OF GAS. THERE WAS A HALF A TANK OF GAS IN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WOULD CRANK AND CRANK BUT WOULD NOT START. I TROUBLESHOOTED THE ISSUE TO A FAILED FUEL PUMP. WHEN I PULLED THE FUEL PUMP OUT OF THE FUEL TANK I NOTICED THAT THE WIRING GOING TO THE NEGATIVE SIDE OF THE PUMP WAS MELTED. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS THAT THE PUMP WAS SUBMERGED IN GASOLINE BUT IT GOT HOT ENOUGH TO MELT THE PLASTIC ON THE PUMP AND WIRING. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE. *JS
