Open the full vehicle complaint log (all categories)AFTER FILLING UP GAS, THE ENTIRE CAR SMELLED LIKE GAS. WE PARKED THE AND GOT OUT TO CHECK. THERE WAS A CAR FAST AND PROMINENT LEAK NEAR THE GASKET OF THE FUEL TANK. THERE ARE RECALLS ABOUT IT ONLINE BUT NOT FOR MY SPECIFIC CAR EVEN THOUGH IT IS HAZARDOUS TO DRIVE.
THERE WERE NO EVENTS PRIOR TO THE EVENT OTHER THAN REGULAR USE AND ON TIME MAINTENANCE. THE FAILURE HAPPENS WHEN EVER WE PUT GAS IN OUR GAS TANK. AFTER FILLING THE TANK (NO MATTER IF ITS FULL OR EMPTY) THE CAR WILL NOT START. WE HAVE TO PUT THE KEY IN THE IGNITION WHILE PRESSING HARD ON THE GAS, AND THEN TAKE OFF. THE CAR WILL SPUTTER FOR ABOUT A MILE AND THEN WILL RUN NORMALLY. THE ONLY TIME WE HAVE HAD TROUBLE STARTING IT, IS WHEN WE PUT GAS IN IT. WE HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO AN AUTHORIZED MECHANIC WHO FLUSHED OUT THE FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM, AND THAT STILL DID NOT WORK. *TR
Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA. A high complaint count may reflect vehicle popularity, not defect severity. Data sourced from NHTSA public records.
