INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE ON DOORS, SPECIFICALLY THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR, WILL BREAK, AND THE PERSON IS UNABLE TO GET OUT OF THE CAR. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS MATTER, BUT MERCEDES BENZ COMPANY HAS NOT PUT OUT A RECALL ON THIS. MANY OWNERS HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS ISSUE WITH NO RESULTS. THE OWNERS HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS OUT OF POCKET, AND IT IS COSTLY. I FEEL AS IF THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL ISSUE, BECAUSE IT POSES AN HAZARD OF GETTING OUT THE CAR IF THE CAR IS IN AN ACCIDENT OR WORSE, CATCHES ON FIRE. AND YES, MY DOOR HANDLE ON THE DRIVER SIDE OF MY 2013 C300 IS BROKE, AND HAVE BEEN QUOTED BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT IT WILL COST ME $1100 TO REPAIR.
I WENT TO AN AUTHORIZED MB DEALER AND THEY DID THE RECALL FOR THE STEERING COLUMN BUT NOT FOR THE AIR BAGS. I ALSO BELIEVE A RECALL SHOULD BE MADE DUE TO THE FACT THAT OIL HAS SIPHONED ITS WAY UP THE CAM MAGNETS AND SOLENOIDS THRU THE ENGINE WIRING HARNESS TO THE MAIN FUEL COMPUTER AND HAS CAUSED THE ENGINE TO BE OUT OF TIMING. ACCORDING TO YOUR AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP'S TECH THIS COULD CAUSE THE ENGINE TO SEIZE. ACCORDING TO RESEARCH THIS IS A KNOWN DEFECT WITH RECALLS FOR OTHER ENGINES BUT IS STILL HAPPENING ON NUMEROUS MERCEDES BENZ VEHICLES.

THE INSIDE DRIVER'S DOOR HANDLE TO OPEN THE CAR BROKE. IT DOESN'T OPEN AND THOUGHT WAS EASY TO FIX. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND TOLD ME IT COST A $1,000.00 BECAUSE NEED A NEW PANEL. UNACCEPTABLE. LOOKING IN INTERNET, FIGURE OUT THAT I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM. THERE'S A LOT OF CARS IN U.S. THIS REPRESENT A SERIOUS LIFE THREATENING BECAUSE IN CASE OF ACCIDENT INVOLVING FIRE YOU CAN'T OPEN THE DRIVER'S DOOR FROM THE INSIDE AND HAVE TO OPEN THE ELECTRIC WINDOW TO USE THE OUTSIDE HANDLE (YES, IT OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE!) IF THE CAR IS WITHOUT POWER IN AN ACCIDENT, YOU CAN LOOSE YOUR LIFE IF FIRE IS INVOLVE. YOU SIMPLY ARE TRAPPED AND THE ONLY OPTION IS BREAKING THE WINDOW. I WROTE TO DAIMLER, MB U.S.A. AND GARAJE ISLA VERDE (OFFICIAL DEALER IN PUERTO RICO), AND IT JUST COST $1,000.00. MB U.S.A. REFERRED THE CASE TO GARAJE ISLA VERDE BUT THEY THREAT ME LIKE...NOTHING EVER HAPPENED. OK, I TOOK THE CAR AND START SEARCHING IN INTERNET. SURPRISINGLY, MANY PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM! THEN I THOUGHT TO WRITE BECAUSE THIS IS NOT SIMPLY A MATTER OF MONEY, ALSO IS A MATTER OF THREATENING. THIS IS MY WIFE'S CAR. WE TOOK THE CAR THERE FOR LOOKING FOR THE COST OF FIXING THAT, PRICE OF FIXING A CRASH AT BACK BUMPER AND FOR GENERAL INSPECTIONS. WE LEFT THE CAR SEPTEMBER 11. WE CALLED AFTER 2 WEEKS. MY MERCEDES BENZ C-300 4MATIC GOT RAIN WATER ON THE INSIDE OF THE CAR AND DAMAGED THE ELECTRICAL. THE CAR WAS PARKED ON THE STREET AND ALL THE WINDOWS WAS UP. THE DRIVERS AND PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR IN THE FRONT UNDER THE DASHBOARD WAS SOAKING WET FROM RAIN WATER. I DO NOT KNOW HOW THE WATER GOT INSIDE OF THE CAR. I WAS DRIVING IT AFTER A RAIN STORM AND ALL THE DASH LIGHTS CAME ON ALL THE NEEDLE HANDS WENT DOWN TO ZERO, IT WAS LIKE THE CAR WAS TRYING TO RESTARTING ITSELF WHILE I WAS DRIVING. THE CAR IS NOW AT MERCEDES BENZ NOVI MICHIGAN NOW. I STILL OWE MONEY ON THIS CAR I AM SO DISAPPOINTED WITH MERCEDES BENZ. I HAVE A HUM DEVICE ON MY VEHICLE AND IT SHOWS THAT I HAVE A CODE P0002 FUEL VOLUME REGULATOR CONTROL CIRCUIT RANGE PERFORMANCE. MY MERCEDES BENZ C CLASS 250 HAS ONLY 44614 MILES, WHEN I BOUGHT IT HAD 36.+ MILES, IF IT WASN'T FOR THE DIVORCE THAT I HAVE ON THE VEHICLE I PROBABLY WON'T KNOW UNTIL THE CAR BRAKE DOWN. WHEN I'M DRIVING THE CAR SEEMS TO LOOSE POWER THEN IT ACCELERATES LIKE IT HIT TURBO POWER. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT DEALERS WERE ADVISED NOT TO SERVICE VEHICLES WITH A TAKATA AIR BAG RECALL FOR WHICH THE SRS WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 74,000.
TAKATA INFLATORS - I WAS SOLD A MERCEDES C250 BY AN AUTHORIZED MERCEDES DEALERSHIP AS A CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED VEHICLE IN MARCH 2016. WHILE SELLING THE VEHICLE, THE DEALERSHIP SHOWED ME A CARFAX REPORT WITH NO OPEN RECALLS. THIS RECALL HAS BEEN OPEN SINCE JAN 2016 IMPLYING THAT I WAS SOLD THE VEHICLE USING FRAUDULENT INFORMATION. ALSO SINCE THEN IT HAS BEEN 2 YEARS WITH NO REMEDY AS THE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. I CONTACTED THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WAS TOLD THEY CANNTO HELP SOLVE THIS.
TAKATA RECALL: I WAS INFORMED ABOUT THIS RECALL REGARDING PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG LAST FALL 2017. AS OF TODAY 6/18/18 NO REPAIR HAS BEEN MADE. I FEEL VERY ENDANGERED WHILE DRIVING IN MY CAR. IT ALSO RENDERS MY VEHICLE NON-SALEABLE. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHEN I CAN EXPECT TO HAVE THIS DEFECT REMEDIED. GAS STATION NOZZLES REPEATEDLY GET STUCK IN CAR GAS TANK WHEN REFUELING. THE GAS STATION NOZZLE DO NOT CONTAIN THE SPRING AROUND THE NOZZLE, THEY ARE SMOOTH WITH NOTHING ON THE NOZZLE THAT COULD CATCH ON THE CAR. IT HAPPENS AT ALL GAS STATIONS FROM 76 TO COSTCO GAS. IT TAKES 5-10 MINUTES TO REMOVE IT WITH VARYING FORCE AND VARYING ANGLES. NOZZLE WILL SPIN AROUND FREELY BUT WILL NOT RELEASE . LATEST INCIDENT REQUIRED EXTREME FORCE 200LB MAN PULLING WITH ALL BODY WEIGHT. THIS ACTION CAUSED THE INTERNAL ROLLED METAL THAT HOLDS GAS CAB IN TO BEND UP AND OUT WHICH THEN PREVENTED THE GAS CAP FROM BEING SCREWED BACK ON. IT IS UNEXPLAINED HOW THE ROLLED METAL WAS ABLE TO LATCH TO THE GAS STATION NOZZLE AND THEN BEND UP AND OUT (SEE PICTURE) WHEN AGAIN THE GAS STATION NOZZLE IS SMOOTH. WHEN PLACING GAS STATION NOZZLE INTO THE CAR IT SLIDES IN VERY SMOOTHLY WITH NO HINT IT WILL NOT COME OUT. THERE IS A PLASTIC PIECE IN THE CAR WHERE THE NOZZLE SLIPS IN BETWEEN (SEE PICTURE). THIS APPEARS TO BE PREVENTING THE GAS STATION NOZZLE FROM BEING REMOVED BUT IT DOES NOT EXPLAIN THE DAMAGE CAUSED WHEN REMOVING GAS STATION NOZZLE. A HAMMER WAS USED (NOT SAFE WITH CHANCE OF SPARK BUT ONLY WAY TO BEND IT, PLIERS WILL NOT WORK) TO BEND BACK THE METAL (SEE PICTURE) SO THAT GAS CAP WOULD SEAT PROPERLY. IT IS UNCLEAR AT THIS MOMENT IF THE CAR CAN BE REFUELED OR IF DAMAGE NEEDS TO BE REPAIRED. GAS STATION ATTENDANT SAID "I SEE MANY MERCEDES HAVE THIS PROBLEM". THE PROBLEM APPEARS TO ONLY HAPPEN IN CALIFORNIA. TRAVELING ACROSS COUNTRY FROM WASHINGTON DC TO CALIFORNIA, NOT ONE TIME DID THE NOZZLE GET STUCK IN THE CAR. IT HAS BEEN SOMETHING I HAVE PREVIOUSLY JUST DEALT WITH KNOWING EACH TIME I CAN GET IT OUT BUT TAKES 2-3 MINUTES. NOTE, I DRIVE 3-5K MILES A YEAR.

SUNROOF EXPLODES AND SHATTERS FOR NO APPARENT REASON WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT ON THE HIGHWAY. TAKATA RECALL AS WELL.
ON MAY 13, 2018, MY DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR HANDLE WOULD NOT OPEN. I HAD BEEN DRIVING AND WENT TO EXIT THE VEHICLE AND COULD NOT GET OUT. I PANICKED THAT I COULD NOT EXIT. I HAD TO START THE CAR TO ROLL DOWN THE WINDOW AND TO OPEN DRIVERS DOOR FROM OUTSIDE. I TOOK IT IN FOR SERVICE REPAIR AND NOTIFIED THE PLASTIC HANDLE BROKE AWAY INSIDE THE DOOR PANEL. TOLD IT WOULD BE 6-12 MONTHS OR LONGER WAIT TIME TO RECEIVE REPLACEMENT DOOR PANEL. MERCEDES BENZ DOES NOT JUST SELL A HANDLE REPLACEMENT AND HAVE TO PURCHASE THE WHOLE INTERIOR DOOR TRIM.
PROBLEM: I'M UNABLE TO OPEN MY DRIVER DOOR FROM THE INSIDE. I HAVE TO ROLL DOWN MY WINDOW TO OPEN MY DRIVER DOOR. HOW DID THIS HAPPEN? I OPENED MY CAR DOOR. WHEN I GOT BACK ON THE INSIDE DOOR HANDLE WAS LOOSE. CONTACT WITH DEALER: I WENT TO THE DEALER TO RECTIFY PROBLEM. THEY TOLD ME I HAD TO REPLACE MY INTERIOR DOOR PANEL - WHICH I HAVE NO ISSUE WITH. HOWEVER, THE SERVICE ADVISOR TOLD ME THAT LOCATION DID NOT HAVE THE PANEL I NEEDED AND MERCEDES WAS NO LONGER MAKING THE PART FOR THIS 2013 VEHICLE. HE TOLD ME THEIR WERE ONLY 3 INTERIOR PANELS IN CALIFORNIA. 1 IN SAN DIEGO AND 2 IN SACRAMENTO. I CALLED BOTH LOCATIONS. ALL WERE ON HOLD FOR OTHER CUSTOMERS. I BOUGHT THIS CAR IN 2013. BRAND NEW. I NOW HAVE 138,000 MILES ON IT - THAT I ALONE PUT ON THE VEHICLE. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING A VEHICLE WHERE I CAN I OPEN THE DRIVER DOOR FROM THE INSIDE. IN ADDITION, TO BE INFORMED THAT MERCEDES IS NO LONGER MAKING A PART FOR A 2013 VEHICLE IS UNACCEPTABLE. WHEN PEOPLE GET IN ACCIDENTS, HOW IS THE PANEL REPLACED. I WENT ONLINE AND SAW SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE. I DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM PAYING FOR AN INTERIOR DOOR PANEL. I JUST WANT TO BE ABLE TO FEEL SAFE AND HAVE THE ABILITY TO OPEN MY DRIVER DOOR FROM THE INSIDEZ

TAKATA INFLATORS (PASSENGER SIDE) GROUNDING CABLES IN STEERING WHEEL
TURNING INTO A PARKING SPACE TODAY, MY CAR BRAKES FAILED. I COULD NOT STOP MY VEHICLE EVEN WHEN I PRESSED DOWN COMPLETELY ON THE PEDAL. I ENDED UP JUMPING THE PARKING SPACE "CURB/STOPPER" AND HIT A LIGHT POST. I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS PRIOR BUT IT WAS EXTREMELY FRIGHTENING. I HAVE HAD OTHER ISSUES WITH THE CAR - THE RADIO WHERE WORKS INTERMITTENTLY AND THE VOLUME SPORADICALLY INCREASES AND DECREASES WITH NO RESOLUTION EVEN AFTER DIAGNOSTICS AND SOFTWARE UPDATES PER THE DEALER. THIS, HOWEVER, WAS AN ISSUE THAT COULD HAVE HAD WORSE CONSEQUENCES. AFTER THE COSMETIC DAMAGE IS FIXED, I PLAN TO HAVE MERCEDES RUN DIAGNOSTICS ON THE BRAKE SYSTEM.

MY CAR HAS 47K MILEAGE AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON A FEW WEEKS AGO. THE ERROR CODE WAS P0340 CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION. THE MERCEDES BENZ DEALER TECHNICIANS CHECKED THE CHECK AND FOUND THAT THE ISSUE WAS CAUSED BY TIMING CHAIN AND THEY HAD TO REPLACE IT. I DID RESEARCH ONLINE AND FOUND LOTS OF MB C250 2012 AND 2013 CARS WITH SIMILAR MILEAGE (40K TO 60K) HAD EXACT SAME ISSUE AS MINE. IT CAN CAUSE CRANKY START, FAILURE TO ACCELERATE WHILE DRIVING AND LOSING POWER. IT CAN BE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS WHEN CAR WITH THIS ISSUE ON THE ROAD, ESPECIALLY ON HIGHWAYS.

CAR WAS TAKEN TO MERCEDES BENZ OF BIRMINGHAM WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH FAULTY CAM ADJUSTERS, TIMING CHAIN, AND TIMING CHAIN TENSIONER $4,200 REPAIR ESTIMATE. COMMON PROBLEM WITH MERCEDES M271 ENGINE. CUSTOMER REFUSED REPAIR. PROBLEM OCCURRED WHILE AT A STOP AND IN MOTION.
NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT SPUTTERING OR SHUDDERING WHEN STARTING MY CAR ALONG WITH GRAYISH BLUE/BLACK SMOKE FROM EXHAUST. I ALSO HAVE HAD CASES OF DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND THEN IT HESITATES, WHICH PUTS MY FAMILY AND I IN DANGER . DEALERSHIP CLAIMS THEY COULD NOT FIND ROOT CAUSE AND THEY STATED IT WAS WORKING TO MB SPECIFICATION. EVENTUALLY I GOT A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT JUST WHEN IT GOT OUT OF EXTENDED WARRANT AND THEN THE STATED I HAD GOTTEN OIL THROUGH MY CAMSHAFT SENSORS AND THEN THROUGH MY HARNESS. COST OF REPAIR WAS OVER 10K. SUBSEQUENTLY ABOUT A YEAR LATER I HAVE BEEN GETTING THE SAME SPUTTERING AND SHUDDERING WITH THE SAME SMOKE AND THEY ARE NOW SAYING I HAVE SOME TIMING ISSUE CODES. IN THE LETTER SENT OUT, IT STATES THAT 'A PASSENGER- SIDE INFLATOR EXPLOSION DURING DEPLOYMENT COULD RESULT IN SHARP METAL FRAGMENTS STRIKING THE FRONT PASSENGER OR OTHER OCCUPANTS, POSSIBLY CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.' BUT THAT THERE ARE NO PARTS AVAILABLE TO FIX THIS POSSIBLE DANGEROUS SITUATION IF IT HAPPENS TO OCCUR. I TOLD THE PHONE REPRESENTATIVE I FEEL UNSAFE DRIVING MY CAR, ESPECIALLY WITH MY SON WITH ME AND ASKED IF MB CAN OFFER ME A RENTAL CAR UNTIL THE PARTS ARE AVAILABLE TO FIX THE RECALL. SHE ALSO INDICATED THAT ALL PARTS FOR THE 2 RECALLS WON'T BE AVAILABLE UNTIL SEPTEMBER 2019. IN THE MEANTIME THEY HAVE NO POLICY TO PROVIDE A CAR RENTAL STIPEND OR A CAR LOANER. I THEN CALLED MERCEDES BACK AND SAID THAT IS NOT A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME AND WOULD LIKE A LOANER VEHICLE UNTIL MINE IS FIXED AND SAFE. TAKATA INFLATORS-I CURRENTLY HAVE 2 RECALLS ON MY CAR; ONE 10/05/17 NHTSA 17V627 AND OTHER ONE FROM 1/10/18 #18V043 WITH THE AIRBAGS. NEITHER ONE HAS A REMEDY YET AND I WAS TOLD THIS WEEKEND AT THE DEALER TO NOT LET ANYONE SIT IN THE PASSENGER SIDE DUE TO DANGER. THIS IS NOT AN OPTION FOR ME. I WAS ALSO TOLD THE EARLIER RECALL IS ALSO DANGEROUS YET NO ETA ON REPAIRS. I AM SINGLE PARENT WITH COLLEGE STUDENT AS WELL AS HANDICAP MOTHER IN HER 80S ... I NEED THIS FIXED NOW.....JUST TO BE TOLD I WILL BE CONTACTED WHEN THERE IS A REPAIR IS NOT AN ANSWER. I AM TERRIFIED TO DRIVE THE CAR AND HAVE NO OPTIONS ON THIS. PLEASE HELP PUT MY CAR IN PRIORITY LINE FOR REPAIR OR ELSE I SHOULD HAVE LKQ LOANER UNTIL IT IS REPAIRED. MY CAR SUFFERED FLOOD DAMAGE AT 4 MONTHS OF AGE IN 2014 AND I AM VERY CONCERNED PARTS WERE COMPROMISED THAT COULD AFFECT THIS EVEN MORE! (THE CAR WAS PURCHASED IN SOUTH FLORIDA AND WE MOVED TO GA 2015 THUS HIGH HUMIDITY EXPOSURE)
