THOUGHT BATTERY WAS DEAD, BUT HAD THE BATTERY WAS TESTED BY AAA AND SAID IT WAS FINE. KEY FOB TURNS AND NOTHING HAPPENS. CAR DOESN'T START, NOTHING HAPPENS.
TAKATA RECALL- DUE TO THE TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL MY VEHICLE CAN NOT BE SOLD OR TRADED TO A DEALERSHIP UNTIL A REMEDY IS AVAILABLE. THIS ISSUE, IN ADDITION TO BEING FRUSTRATING, NEGATIVELY IMPACTS THE VALUE OF MY VEHICLE.
INSIDE DRIVERS DOOR HANDLE BROKE AT THE ATTACH POINT TO CABLE. ON INSPECTION FOUND THAT HANDLE IS MANUFACTURED IN SUCH A WAY THAT IT DOES NOT HAVE ENOUGH MATERIAL IN THE BODY OF THE JOINT TO MAINTAIN INTEGRITY FOR SUCH A HIGH USE ITEM. THIS PRESENTS A DANGER AS THE HANDLE WILL FAIL AND COULD FAIL IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION, TRAPPING THE DRIVER IN THE CAR.

I RECEIVED A "IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL NOTICE" FROM MERCEDES-BENZ USA, DATED NOVEMBER 2017 STATING THAT MY 2013 MERCEDEZ-BENZ C250 WAS BEING RECALLED DUE TO DEFECTIVE "TAKATA AIR BAGS". I CONTACTED MY LOCAL MERCEDEZ-BENZ DEALER (MERCEDEZ OF ORLANDO) AND THEY TOLD THAT THEY WOULD CONTACT ME WHEN REPLACEMENT PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. I RECEIVED A SECOND "IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL NOTICE" FROM MERCEDEZ-BENZ USA (DATED FEBRUARY 2018) STATING THAT I SHOULD CONTACT MY LOCAL MERCEDEZ-BENZ DEALERSHIP IMMEDIATELY TO HAVE THE "TAKATA AIRBAGS REPLACED. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL MERCEDEZ-BENZ DEALER (MERCEDEZ OF ORLANDO) AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THE REPLACEMENT PARTS WERE STILL NOT AVAILABLE AND THEY WILL CALL ME WHEN THEY ARE AVAILABLE. TODAY (07MAY2018) I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM MY LOCAL MERCEDEZ-BENZ DEALER (MERCEDEZ OF ORLANDO) TELLING ME THAT MY 2013 MERCEDEZ-BENZ C250 HAS A "SAFETY RECALL ISSUE" DUE TO DEFECTIVE TAKATA AIRBAGS AND I SHOULD CONTACT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT (855) 456-8774. I CONTACTED THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT OF MERCEDEZ OF ORLANDO AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY DON'T HAVE THE REPLACEMENT PARTS AND THEY WILL CONTACT ME AS SOON AS THEY HAVE THE PARTS. CONCLUSION: IT HAS BEEN 18 MONTHS SINCE I RECEIVED THE FIRST "SAFTY RECALL NOTICE" FROM MERCEDEZ-BENZ USA AND I STILL HAVEN'T HAD MY "RECALL ISSUES" FIXED. THIS IS TOTALLT UNACCEPTABLE. I AM DRIVING AN "UNSAFE" VEHICLE AND IS UNDER A "MANDATORY RECALL" AND MY LOCAL MERCEDEZ-BENZ DEARLER (MERCEDEZ OF ORLANDO) IS JERKING ME AROUND AND REFUSING TO FIX MY VEHICLE. TAKARA RECALL I GOT A LETTER IN THE MAIL IN NOVEMBER SAYING MY AIRBAG IS DEFECTIVE.ONLY A MONTH LATER I RECIEVED ANOTHER LETTER SAYING THE PARTS WONT NE AVAILABLE UNTIL LATE 2019. I HAVE NOT BEEN DRIVING MY CAR BECAUSE OF THIS REASON. IT IS NOT WORTH RISKING MY FAMILIES LIVES. YET I HAVE STILL BEEN PAYING MY LOAN OFF EVERY MONTH. I AM WRITING BECAUSE MERCEDES HAS FAILED TO PROVIDE A REMEDY FOR A RECALL NOTICE DATED OCTOBER 16, 2017, OVER 1-1/4 YEARS AGO. I HAVE CONTACTED MY DEALER SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY HAVE NO INFORMATION ON ANY SOLUTION FOR THIS RECALL. IT WOULD APPEAR BASED ON THIS PERFORMANCE THAT MERCEDES MAY HAVE NO INTENTION OF PROVIDING A SOLUTION TO THIS RECALL WHICH, ACCORDING TO THE NOTICE, IS POTENTIALLY LIFE THREATENING. I ASK THAT THE NHTSA TAKE ACTION TO FORCE MERCEDES TO PROVIDE A SOLUTION TO FIX THE PROBLEM ON AN EXPEDITED BASIS GIVEN HOW THEY HAVE NOT DONE SO FOR OVER 15 MONTHS. MY FUEL PUMP ORIGINALLY WAS DIAGNOSED AS FAULTY IN OCTOBER 2017 ORDERED FROM MERCEDES BENZ OF SA WHICH WAS STATED BY THE ETA PROVIDED. UPON CALLING BACK THEY WERE UNABLE TO GET A ETA ON MY FUEL PUMP WHICH HAS MY CAR RUNNING HORRIBLE AND SMELLING LIKE GAS BUT IS MY ONLY CAR. IT HAS BEEN OVER 4 MONTHS SINCE SITUATION UPON CALLING TODAY NO ETA HAS BEEN GIVEN OR UPDATED THEY VOICED ITS ON INTERNATIONAL BACK-ORDER EVERYWHERE YOU CALL IF AN ITEM LIKE THIS ISN'T AVAILABLE THERE IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUES AND RECALL NEEDED IMMEDIATELY TO HOLD MERCEDES RESPONSIBLE. THE MOST RECENT ONE (ISSUED JANUARY 2018) IS RELATED TO THE TAKATA RECALL: "ACCORDING TO TAKATA, IN THE EVENT OF AN INFLATOR RUPTURE, METAL FRAGMENTS COULD PASS THROUGH THE AIR BAG CUSHION MATERIAL, WHICH MAY RESULT IN INJURY OR DEATH TO VEHICLE OCCUPANTS" THE FIRST RECALL, ISSUED OCTOBER 2017 RELATES TO: "DAIMLER AG (DAG), THE MANUFACTURER OF MERCEDES-BENZ VEHICLES, HAS DETERMINED THAT ON CERTAIN B-CLASS ELECTRIC, C-CLASS, E-CLASS AND CLA, GLA, GLC, GLK-CLASS VEHICLES (242, 204, 205, 207, 212, 117, 156, 253 PLATFORM) AN ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE, WHEN COMBINED WITH A BROKEN STEERING COLUMN MODULE CLOCK SPRING AND AN INSUFFICIENT GROUNDING OF THE STEERING COMPONENTS, COULD LEAD TO AN INADVERTENT DEPLOYMENT OF THE DRIVER AIRBAG. TAKATA RECALL I WAS DRIVING ON ON STREET AND TRIED TO MAKE E A LEFT TURN WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL CLICKED AND THE AIRBAG MALFUNCTION MESSAGE CAME ON THE DASHBOARD. THIS IS THE 2ND TIME THAT THIS HAS HAPPEN THIS YEAR. I HAD TO FIGHT WITH THE DEALER LAST TIME (FEB 2017) BECAUSE THEY'RE TELLING ME THAT MY VEHICLE IS NOT REGISTERED FOR THIS RECALL. AT THIS MOMENT I HAVE NO CONTROL OVER THE CONTROL PANEL ON MY STEERING WHEEL NOR AM I ABLE TO SEE THE REGULAR DASHBOARD DISPLAY WHEN THE CAR IS ON BECAUSE THE AIRBAG ICON AND MESSAGE "FRONT LEFT MALFUNCTION SERVICE REQUIRED" IS NOTED AND WON'T GO AWAY. I HAD JUST ENTERED THE HIGHWAY AND LESS THAN A HALF A MILE FROM ENTERING THE HIGHWAY MY SUNROOF EXPLODED. THERE WERE NO CARS NEAR ME AND NO DEBRIS NEAR MY CAR. I CONTACTED MERCEDES BENZ AND THEY SEEM VERY UNCONCERNED. WHEN THIS OCCURRED GLASS WENT EVERYWHERE, ALL OVER ME AND BOTH THE FRONT AND BACK SETS. I WAS DRIVING AT A SPEED OF 60 MILES AND HOUR. AFTER GAINING CONTROL OF THE CAR I GOT OUT AND CALLED THE POLICE AND MY INSURANCE COMPANY. THIS WAS A TERRIFYING EXPERIENCE.
