Open the full vehicle complaint log (all categories)THE BREAKING SYSTEM HAS GONE OUT ON THIS CAR WHILE DRIVING THREE DIFFERENT TIMES. IT'S EXTREMELY SCARY AND HAS ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT EACH TIME AS THERE IS NO WARNING WHEN THE SYSTEM FAILS. ONE MINUTE THE CAR IS FINE AND THE NEXT YOU CANNOT STOP. NO WAY TO KNOW IT'S ABOUT TO HAPPEN UNTIL YOU PRESS THE BREAK PEDAL. THE FIRST TIME WE HAD IT FIXED FROM THE MECHANIC HE SEEMED TO BELIEVE IT WAS A FLUKE THE BREAK BOOSTER PART WENT BAD SO WE FIXED IT. SECOND TIME WE RETURNED TO THE SAME MECHANIC AND HE SAID THE ENTIRE SYSTEM FAILED AND REPLACED ALL THE PARTS INCLUDING THE BOOSTER. EXCEPT THIS TIME HE WAS ABLE TO EXCHANGE THE BOOSTER UNDER A PART WARRANTY. NOW IN THE LAST FEW DAYS THE ENTIRE SYSTEM FAILED AGAIN WITH NO EXPLANATION. ALL THREE INSTANCES HAVE HAPPENED IN LESS THAN A YEAR. THERE IS OBVIOUSLY A DESIGN FLAW IN THIS CAR AND IT'S EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND WE DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO. WE GOT LUCKY NOT HAVING AN ACCIDENT AS WELL AS SOME OF THE SECOND AND THIRD REPAIRS BEING UNDER A PARTS WARRANTY. THERE CURRENTLY IS NOT A RECALL WE CAN FIND FOR OUR MODEL BUT IF YOU LOOK UP OTHER MERCEDES MODELS THEY HAVE A BREAK SYSTEM FAILURE RECALL. THIS NEEDS ATTENTION!
Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA. A high complaint count may reflect vehicle popularity, not defect severity. Data sourced from NHTSA public records.
