There is a problem with my tourqe converter with 100k miles. My car won't accelerate.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 MERCURY MILAN. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO GO UPHILL IN THE VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND SEVERAL WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. WHEN THE CONTACT RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, ALL OF THE ELECTRICAL FUNCTIONS WORKED. WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO MOVE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND ABLE TO DRIVE; HOWEVER, THE CHECK ENGINE REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 MERCURY MILAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE PARKING AND AT LESS THEN 5 MPH, THE VEHICLE SURGED AND ABNORMALLY ACCELERATED, JUMPING A CURB. THE CONTACT APPLIED THE BRAKES WITH BOTH FEET IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE THEN SKIDDED SEVERAL FEET BEFORE THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT THERE WAS NO RECORD OF THE FAILURE OCCURRING WITH OTHER MODELS AND THAT THERE WAS NO USE IN BRINGING THE VEHICLE FOR DIAGNOSIS BECAUSE THE DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 16,000.
MY MERCURY MILAN IS LESS THAN A MONTH OLD. I WAS DRIVING ON A SECONDARY SURFACE ROAD. I ACCELERATED TO PASS ANOTHER CAR, SUDDENLY THE CAR BEGAN TO ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN. I APPLIED THE BRAKES THEY WOULDN'T WORK. I PULLED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE UP. IT WOULD NOT STOP THE CAR. I CONTINUED ACCELERATE. I WAS HEADING INTO HEAVER TRAFFIC. I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO PULL ON THE SHOULDER AND IN ORDER TO STOP THE CAR I HAD TO SHUT THE ENGINE OFF. I STARTED THE ENGINE NOW THAT I WAS IN PARK AND THE ENGINE RACED. I SHUT THE ENGINE OFF AGAIN. THIS TIME IT WAS NORMAL. I WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THE CAR WAS EXAMINED EXTENSIVELY. NOTHING WAS FOUND. *TR
