MY CAR SHUTS OFF AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS AND HESITATE UPON TAKE OFF..MAKES NOISES WHEN I PUT IT IN PARK...I GOT THIS CAR IN 2013 BRAND NEW..
MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN TWICE NOW FOR THE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT REMAINING ON WHEN A PASSENGER OVER 130LBS IS SEATED IN THAT SEAT. I FIRST HAD THIS CHECKED BY KAYSER NISSAN IN MADISON 1/10/14 AND WAS TOLD NO PROBLEM FOUND THEN THE RECALL CAME OUT AND THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED AGAIN AT KAYSER NISSAN AND WAS TOLD THE PROBLEM WAS FIXED. AIRBAG LIGHT HAS BEEN COMING ON AGAIN WITH PERSON IN SEAT AND VEHICLE HAS TO BE PULLED OVER AND TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED FOR IT TO RESET PROPERLY. THIS IS VERY INCONVENIENT AND UNSAFE FOR PASSENGERS. THE VEHICLE IS MOSTLY DRIVEN WITHOUT PASSENGER SO THIS PROBLEM IS NOT NOTICED RIGHT AWAY MAKING IT HARD TO FILE A LEMON LAW COMPLAINT EVEN THOUGH IT WAS FIRST COMPLAINED ABOUT WITHIN FIRST YEAR AND UNDER WARRANTY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 16V029000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES ) HOWEVER THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
WHILE DRIVING ON ROUTE 128 NORTH THE ENGINE HOOD FLEW OPEN AND SMASHED WINSHEILD, TOP ROOF , BENT BOTH FENDERS, AND ENGINE HOOD. CAR WENT TO AUTO SHOP FOR REPAIRS. THIS WAS DUE TO SECONDARY HOOD LATCH FAILURE.
I SIMPLY TURNED ON MY CAR WHEN THE RPM AND SPEED GAUGE WENT OUT OF CONTROL FROM 0 TO MAX IN STATIONARY MODE, THE CAR WAS PARKED IN MY GARAGE SPOT. THIS PROCESS OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES IN A ROW, ALONG WITH THIS THE CAR ENGINE WAS EXTREMELY LOUD MAKING ROARING NOISES AND SHUDDERING AND VIBRATIGN. WHEN I PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL NOTHING HAPPENED THE CAR CONTINUED WITH THE RPM AND SPEED GAUGE CYCLING FROM 0 TO MAX, I DID NOT FEEL SAFE TO ATTEMPT TO DRIVE THE CAR. LAST MONTH I HAD TO HAVE THE CAR SERVICE BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE WHILE I WAS ON THE FREEWAY THE MAX SPEED ON THE CAR WAS 30 MILES PER HOUR. I GOT OFF THE HIGHWAY IMMEDIATELY AND THE CAR TURNED OFF WHEN I PARKED IT ON THE STREET. IT TOOK 3 ATTEMPTS TO FINALLY TURN ON. THE CAR DID THIS AGAIN ON A SECOND OCCURRENCE BEFORE I COULD GET IT TO THE DEALER, I WAS DRIVING ON THE STREET AND AGAIN THE SAME ISSUE OCCURRED. THE CAR STALLS, JERKS, VIBRATES ON ITS OWN AT RANDOM TIMES. EACH TIME I HAVE HAD MY PREVENTIVE SERVICES DONE AT THE DEALER THE CAR IS IN NEAR PERFECT CONDITION AND NOTHING CAN BE DIAGNOSED, THEN THE CAR HAS THESE INCIDENTS OCCUR WITH NO WARNING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE HOOD LATCH RELEASED AND THE HOOD SLAMMED INTO THE WINDSHIELD. AS A RESULT, THE WINDSHIELD WAS SHATTERED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A GLASS COMPANY TO BE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 40,000.
TRANSMISSION ABRUPTLY STARTED BUCKING/MALFUNCTIONING WHILE BOTH TRAVELING AS WELL AS AT A STOP SIGN. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WHO COULD NOT REPLICATE IT, THEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN, AND AGAIN DEALER COULD NOT REPLICATE BUT PUT SOME SOFTWARE DOWN. THEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN ON THE NYS THRUWAY---BUCKING TO THE POINT IT WAS ABRUPTLY SLOWING DOWN AND I ALMOST GOT HIT BY A SEMI. THIS TIME THE DEALER SAID THE CVT TRANSMISSION WAS BAD. CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW 2 YEARS AGO AND HAS 50K MILES ON IT.

THE CONTACT SUSTAINED MAJOR INJURIES TO THE STERNUM, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,000.
CAR KEEPS SHUTTING DOWN WHILE DRIVING ! ITS HAPPENED 6 TIMES SINCE I BOUGHT CAR IN JANUARY 23,2014. FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED WAS VERY NEXT DAY OF PURCHASING THE CAR. ITS HAPPENED A TOTAL OF SIX TIMES, INCLUDING TODAY/THIS AFTERNOON WHILE DRIVING ON THE EXPRESSWAY ON HWY 111 IN IMPERIAL COUNTY, CALIFORNIA. MY CAR LOST ALL POWER, ENGINE SHUT DOWN, LOST CONTROL OF GEARS (DRIVE GEARS LOCKED), ATTEMPTED TO START CAR COULD NOT START IGNITION. & I LOST ALL CONTROL OF THE STEERING WHEEL. SAME HAPPENED ON EACH PRIOR OCCASIONS/TIMES. ENGINE SHUT DOWN, NO CONTROL OF STEERING WHEEL, WOULD NOT START, GEARS/LEVER WOULD GET LOCKED IN PLACE.. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS CAR !! THIS CAR IS A DEATH TRAP ! I HAVE A SMALL CHILD (7 YEARS OLD) I AM PUTTING MY CHILD'S AND MY LIFE IN DANGER BY DRIVING THIS CAR ANY FURTHER. DEALER INSIST THEY CANNOT FIND DEFECT/PROBLEM. AGAIN, THEY HAVE ALSO CONVINIENTLY NEVER WROTE MY CONCERNS ON ANY THE THEIR WORK TICKETS, WHEN I HAVE PRESENTED CAR FOR REPAIRS. I BOUGHT CAR FROM ROGERS & ROGERS NISSIAN DEALERSHIP IN IMPERIAL, CALIFORNIA 92251 PLEASE HELP US BEFORE WE GET INTO A SERIOUS ACCIDENT & HURT OR KILL OUR SELFS OR SOMEONE ELSE. !!! BECAUSE OF THIS DEFECT !!
CAR JUTTER & STALLED WHEN CAME TO A STOP. TOOK CAR TO LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THEY PLACED CAR ON DIAGNOSTIC WHICH CAME BACK CLEAR AND COULD NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM FOR 2 DAYS. RECEIVED CAR BACK AND CAR DID THE SAME THING, TOOK IT TO A DIFFERENT NISSAN DEALERSHIP THAT SAID THEY HAVE HEARD OF SAME COMPLAINTS BUT THEY HAVE HAD MY CAR FOR 5 DAYS AND CLAIM TO NOT BE ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. CAR WARRANTY IS ALMOST UP AND NISSAN SEEMS TO BE OF NO HELP. PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT ALSO STAYS ON FROM TIME TO TIME. I HAVE READ AND PRINTED OUT SEVERAL IDENTICAL COMPLAINTS AND THERE SEEMS TO BE NO RESOLVE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE CHECK ENGINE AND TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART, BUT STALLED IMMEDIATELY WHEN THE GEAR LEVER WAS SHIFTED INTO DRIVE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED CONSTANTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
I PUT MY CAR IN REVERSE AND IT WOULD NOT MOVE. IT EVENTUALLY STARTED ABOUT 10 SECONDS LATER. THEN WHEN DRIVING IT BEGAN TO SPUTTER AND JUMP IN AND OUT OF ACCLERATING. IT DID NOT ACCELERATE CORRECTLY... I WOULD PUSH THE GAS PEDAL AND IT WOULD NOT MOVE, THEN IT WOULD JOLT IN TO FORWARD. THE CAR BARELY GOT ME TO WORK. I TOOK IT TO A NISSAN DEALER WHERE THEY DIAGNOSED IT WITH A BAD TRANSMISSION. HOWEVER, NISSAN WOULD NOT REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION, EVEN THOUGHT THE CAR IS ONLY 2.5 YEARS OLD... BECAUSE IT HAS 62,000 MILES, WHICH IS 2,000 OVER THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. I HAVE TO PAY ONE FOURTH THE PRICE OF THE CAR (WHICH I STILL PAY A NOTE ON) TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION.
WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY MY VEHICLE TURNED OFF. TURNED THE CAR BACK ON JUST FINE. WHEN I PUT IT BACK INTO DRIVE IT TURNED OFF AGAIN. CALLED 911 WHO TRANSFERRED ME TO DPS WHICH HAD TO SHUT ALL 5 LANES OF TRAFFIC TO PUSH ME OFF TO THE SIDE. TOWED CAR TO DEALERSHIP WHICH WRONGFULLY DIAGNOSED WITH A LOW BATTERY KEY FOB. SAME NIGHT AFTER PICKING UP MY CAR IT TURNED OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION AT NIGHT. LUCKILY THIS TIME IT STAYED ON AFTER PUTTING IT IN DRIVE. MY CAR IS STILL UNDIAGNOSED AT THE DEALERSHIP ALMOST A FULL WEEK LATER.
FOR 3 YEARS WE HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THIS PARTICULAR ISSUE, WITH NO RESOLUTION. THE DASHBOARD LIGHT SIGNALING THAT THE PASSENGER AIR BAG IS PROPERLY ACTIVATED FOR AN ADULT OCCUPANT COMES ON OR DOES NOT COME ON WHEN IT IS SUPPOSED TO. THIS OCCURS WHETHER THE CAR IS STATIONARY OR ON THE MOVE. THE DEALER HAS TOLD US NOT TO PUT ANYTHING ON THE PASSENGER SEAT = RIDICULOUS. THE DEALER THEN SAID THAT IT "REPROGRAMMED THE SYSTEM". THEN THE DEALER TOLD US THAT THEY NEEDED TO REPLACE THE SENSOR. I BELIEVE THIS HAS BEEN DONE 2 X. WE LAST HAD THIS ATTENDED TO SEPT 15, 2015 BUT THE "SO-CALLED REPAIR" DID NOT WORK AGAIN. THIS AIR BAG ISSUE IS SERIOUS, AND WE FEEL UNSAFE IN THIS CAR, THEREFORE WE HAVE DRIVEN LESS THAN 2000 MILES IN 5 MONTHS - THE CAR SITS IN THE GARAGE. THE PROBLEM IS INTERMITTANT = WE DON'T KNOW WHEN THE AIR BAG SYSTEM IS FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY - WE MUST ASSUME IT IS MALFUNCTIONING!

THE TECHNICIAN REPAIRED THE VEHICLE UNDER A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23,000.

THE CONTACT RECIEVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V029000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 90,000. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
LOUD VIBRATING SOUND WHEN DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR AT 40MPH AND 70MPH. AT LOW RPMS TO CAR ALSO VIBRATES AROUND 25MPH. IT ALSO VIBRATES AT 40MPH AND 70MPH WHEN PRESSING ON THE ACCELERATOR.
I HAVE HAD MY VEHICLE LOOKED AT BY PRIVATE MECHANIC DUE TO SHUDDER IN ENGINE WHILE DRIVING HE INFORMED ME THAT MY CVT TRANSMISSION IS FAULTY, I AM STILL UNDER NISSAN WARRANTY BUT WHEN I TOOK MY CAR IN TO THEIR SERVICE CENTER THEY TOLD ME NO. THEY DON'T SEE ANYTHING WRONG WITH MY CAR. I EXPLAINED TO THEM IN DETAIL MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE AS WELL AS WHAT MY MECHANIC STATED THEY TOLD ME NO. I WAS DRIVING YESTERDAY WHEN MY CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF ON ME. I WAS ABLE TO COME TO A STOP. I STARTED THE CAR AGAIN WITH NO ISSUE BUT AS SOON AS I SHIFTED INTO DRIVE MY CAR WOULD JUDDER & SHUT OFF AGAIN. THE SAME JUDDER HAVE BEEN FEELING FOR SOME TIME NOW. BUT NOW MY CAR IS TURNING OFF. BASED ON MY RESEARCH I HAVE DONE THIS IS A MAJOR ISSUE THAT IS NOT BEING ADDRESSED BY NISSAN. I HAVE ALSO SEEN THEY CONTINUE TO DENY THE TRANSMISSION IS FLAWED UNTIL YOU FIND YOURSELF OUT OF WARRANTY THEN THEY DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM AS THE TRANSMISSION WHICH IS NOW 100% OUT OF YOUR OWN POCKET. THIS IS HEART BREAKING TO KNOW SUCH A LARGE COMPANY IS AWARE OF THIS BUT WILL NOT REPAIR OR RECALL THEIR CARS LEAVING US STRANDED WITH A $20,000 CAR THAT WILL NOT LIVE PASSED 60,000 MILES WHEN I WAS DRIVING MY CAR I HAD JUST GOTTEN OFF HIGHWAY WHEN MY CAR JUDDERED & SHUT OFF. I WAS VERY LUCKY I DID NOT STAY ON HIGHWAY IT WOULD HAVE CAUSED ME TO LOSE CONTROL AT A HIGHER SPEED AS WELL BEING STRUCK BY OTHER VEHICLES. THIS IS A LIFE THREATENING DEFECT. I HOPE IT CAN BE RESOLVED BEFORE THERE IS A LOSS OF LIFE. IF THERE HAS NOT BEEN ONE ALREADY.
BECAUSE THIS COMPLAINT INVOLVES MY LOW BEAM LIGHTS MY CAR IS MOVING. I COMMUTE 100 MILES A DAY TO AND FROM WORK. I LEAVE WHEN ITS DARK IN THE MORNING AND I DRIVE HOME AT NIGHT WHEN ITS DARK. MY LOW BEAMS ARE SO DIM I CANNOT SEE ANYTHING FURTHER THAN THE HOOD OF MY CAR. IF I AM DRIVING WITH MY LOW BEAMS ON ONCOMING TRAFFIC IS FLASHING ME TO PUT MY LIGHTS ON. IF I AM DRIVING WITH MY HIGH BEAMS ON IN ORDER TO SEE THE ROAD I AM BEING FLASHED TO TURN MY HIGH BEAMS OFF. THIS STARTED ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO AND HAS GOTTEN PROGRESSIVELY WORSE. I PAID NISSAN DEALERSHIP $200.00 LABOR TO BE TOLD THEY COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM WITHT HE WIRING AND I WOULD HAVE TO LEAVE IT WITH THEM LONGER TO RESEARCH FURTHER. I TOOK IT TO A SECOND MECHANIC WHO TOLD ME IT WAS NOT THE WIRING THAT INFACT THE REFLECTORS ARE DEFECTIVE AND I SHOULD CALL NISSAN. ITS NOT A WARRANTY ISSUE AND THE ONLY FIX IS TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE HEADLIGHT ASSY AT $1,000.00 EACH. I DO NOT HAVE THAT KIND OF MONEY IF I DID I WOULD NOT BE COMMUTING 100 MILES A DAY TO HAVE A JOB. I HAVE READ ENDLESS COMPLAINTS ON THIS SAME ISSUE AND NOTHING IS BEING DONE. I EVEN FOUND WHERE A CLASS ACTION SUIT IS BEING DONE AND WAS TOLD THAT ONCE I FIX THE PROBLEM TO PLEASE SEND THEM MY DEFECTIVE LIGHTS FOR THEM TO FURTHER RESEARCH...REALLY!!!!
WHILE DRIVING CAR SHUTTERS AND STALLS. CUTS OFF WHILE AT TRAFFIC LIGHT. WOULD START BACK UP BUT SHUTTS OFF. GOT IT TOWED TO NISSAN DEALER BUT THEY SAID NO CODES FOUND SO NOTHING THYEY CAN DO. CAR STALLED AGAIN THIS WEEKEND.WHILE I WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVE WAY CAR STARTS SHUTTER AND JERK FORWARD WHILE IN PARK.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE KEY FOB WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED AND REPROGRAMMED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000.

AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE PELVIC, BOTH LEGS, HEAD, TEETH, AND. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,000.
DRIVING AT THE RATE OF 45 MILES PER HOUR. MY 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA 3.5 SL START SURGING GOING FASTER THAN THE SPEED LIMIT. I APPLIED ON BRAKES PUSHING THEM DOWN TO THE FLOOR MY CAR HIT A 2013 DURANGO SUV ON THE DRIVER SIDE KNOCKING THE REAR WHEEL COMPLETELY OFF. MY CAR STILL SURGING FASTER ON A CONGESTED HIGH-WAY TO AVOID CAUSING ANY FATALITIES MY CAR SPEND AROUND THREE TIMES. BEFORE COMING TO A STOP. NO AIR BAG DEPLOYED ON MY DRIVER'S SIDE OCCUPANT SEAT WAS UNOCCUPIED. MY NISSAN ALTIMA 3.5 SL WAS A TOTAL LOSS, A-FRAME SEVERELY DAMAGE BEYOND REPAIR. THE SEAT BEAST ON THE DRIVER SIDE TURN MY LARGE INTESTINE, SEVERAL FEATURE BILATERAL PELVIC BONE, WHIP LASH, NEUROLOGICAL DISTURBANCE, (L) TORN ROTATOR CUFF, SPINAL CORD INJURY WHERE PARTIAL PARALYSIS HAVE START TO SET IN MY LEGS. IRREVERSIBLE NERVE DAMAGE, POOR SIGHT, BROKEN TEETH WHEREAS; I HAVE TO GET THEM ALL PULLED OUT & GO INTO THE HOSPITAL TO HAVE A COMPLETE MOUTH OF IMPLANTS. THE SEAT BELT WAS SO TIGHT THAT IT TORN A MUSCLE IN MY CHEST CAVITY (L) SIDE CAUSING MY HEART NOT TO FILL UP COMPLETELY. SEEING A PSYCHIATRIST AFTER THE AFTERMATH OF THE INCIDENT, GASTROINTESTINAL DOCTOR, PAIN SPECIALIST,
DIDN'T DEPLOY I HIT THE 2013 DANRANGO TRUCK FROM BEHIND ON MY PASSENGER FRONT KNOCKING THE TIRE COMPLETELY OFF THE TRUCK ON THE DRIVER RAR WHEEL.
WHILE IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET I PRESSED THE BRAKE TO SLOW DOWN AS A APPROACH A TRAFFIC LIGHT. MY VEHICLE SHUT OFF. I WAS INFORMED BY 2 DIFFERENT MECHANIC SHOPS THAT THE LIGHTING SYSTEM ON MY CAR IS DEFECTIVE. I REPLACED THE HEADLIGHTS 2 TIMES BY 2 DIFFERENT SHIPS AND THEY ARE STILL DIM. THIS IS A HAZARD BECAUSE I HAVE TO DRIVE WITH MY HIGHBEAMS ON AT NIGHT. THIS POSES SAFETY CONCERNS NOT ONLY TO MYSELF BUT TO OTHER DRIVERS AS WELL AND I'M ALSO LIABLE TO RECEIVE A CITATION THAT I HAVE NO CONTROL OVER. I'VE BEEN HAVING THIS ISSUES FOR THE LAST 2 YEARS.

MY TRANSMISSION WENT OUT ON A THREE YEAR OLD CAR AS I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY. I ATTEMPTED TO PUSH DOWN ON THE GAS PEDAL ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. AFTER STARTUP WITH A PASSENGER IN THE FRONT SEAT, THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG LIGHT STAYS ON INTERMITTANTLY. WE HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR 5 TIMES. 4 TIMES THEY "REPROGRAMMED THE PCM ACCORDING TO THE RECALL" AND THE LAST TIME DID NOTHING. I DID CALL NISSAN AND THEY OPENED A 'CASE' PRIOR TO THE LAST REPAIR ATTEMPT (#25798531) AND STILL NO ATTEMPT AT REPAIR WAS DONE BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM (IN 30 MILES, DON'T KNOW HOW MANY TIMES THEY ACTUALLY GOT OUT OF THE PASSENGER SEAT AND RESTARTED THE CAR). THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING ALMOST SINCE NEW; BUT WE THOUGHT THE LIGHT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE ON! I KNOW THAT THIS IS NOT AN UNCOMMON PROBLEM VIA RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET.

A/C HAS NOT WORKED PROPERLY TILL IT JUST STOPED. THE AC BLOWS AIR INTERMITTENT COLD AND HOT. COMPRESSOR NOT WORKING PROPERLY. FILLED WITH FREON BUT WILL NOT CONSISTENTLY BLOW COLD. HEADLIGHTS VERY DIM. THE LENSES ARE CLEAR
HOOD FLEW OPEN WHILE TRAVELING AT 35 MPH ON THE OUTSKIRTS OF TOWN. THIS RESULTED IN DAMAGE TO THE UPPER QUARTER PANEL ON BOTH SIDES OF THE VEHICLE NEAR THE HOOD HINGES.
IN LESS THAN THREE YEARS AND JUST OVER 36,000 MILES WE HAVE SERVICED THE TRANSMISSION 3-4 TIMES (I'VE LOST COUNT), HAD IT BROUGHT IN FOR BRAKE NOISE (SCREECHING) AT LEAST 4 TIMES, AND JUST THIS WEEK THE BEARINGS IN BOTH REAR WHEELS HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE BRAKES SCREECH IS EAR SPLITTING. THEY RECONDITIONED THE SURFACE OF THE ROTORS, RE-SHIMMED THE PADS AND REPLACED THE PADS 9 MONTHS AGO. I WARNED THEM THEN THAT I KNEW THIS WAS ONLY A TEMPORARY FIX AND THAT I WAS CONCERNED THAT THEY WOULD GET NOISY AGAIN ONCE THE WARRANTY EXPIRES AND THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT HAS HAPPENED. A FEW MONTHS BEFORE THAT THEY SHIMMED THE PADS WHICH MADE IT BETTER TEMPORARILY. I TOLD THEM SHIMS WERE A BAND AID FOR A DESIGN FLAW AND THAT IT WOULDN'T LAST. SEVERAL WEEKS LATER IT WAS BACK IN THE SHOP. THE TRANNY HAS THE SHAKES. IT HAS BEEN REPROGRAMMED, THE ALTERNATOR WAS REPLACED BECAUSE SUPPOSEDLY THE VOLTAGE VARIATION WAS AFFECTING THE TIMING OF THE TRANNY, AND MOST RECENTLY A VALE BODY WAS REPLACED. THE OSCILLATION PROBLEM IS BETTER FOR NOW BUT MY WIFE HAD IT BUCK AGAIN LAST WEEK JUST NOT AS BAD. IT'S JUST A MATTER OF TIME ON THIS TOO. THEIR COMPETITORS DO NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM. I AM HIGHLY CONCERNED THAT I HAVE MORE BEARING ISSUES IN THE FUTURE. TWO OUT OF TWO BEARING SETS FAILING (THE FRONTS BEARINGS ARE DIFFERENT) IS A 100% FAILURE RATE IN LESS THAN 36K. ALL THREE PROBLEMS (BRAKES, TRANSMISSION AND BEARINGS) ARE KNOWN ISSUES IN THIS YEAR, GOOGLE IT.

WE WERE INFORMED THAT THE OUR CAR WAS NOT EQUIPPED WITH A SEAT BELT WARNING CHIME. NOTHING WAS INDICATED ON THE REPAIR SLIP THAT WE WERE CONCERNED ABOUT THE SEAT BELT CHIME. THE OWNER'S MANUAL INDICATES THAT IT DOES INDEED HAVE A SEAT BELT WARMING CHIME. IF WE FORGET TO FASTEN OUR SEAT BELT THERE IS NO WARNING THAT WE HAVE NOT DONE SO.

PASSANGER SIDE AIR BAG NO LONGER WORKS, THE AIR BAG SAYS ITS OFF AND MALFUNCTIONED. WILL NOT SHOW WHEN SOMEONE IS SITTING INN THE SEAT. THUS NEVER SETTING THE PASSANGER AIR SO IF YOU GET INTO AN ACCIDENT IT WOULD NOT DEPLOY. WHEN THE AIR BAG MALFUNCTIONED IT WAS SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY WE TURNED IT ON AND THE LIGHT CAME ON AND HAS NEVER WENT OUT.

VEHICLE WAS RECALLED FOR AIRBAG DEACTIVATION LIGHT FOR PASSENGER FRONT SEAT THAT WOULD TURN ON INTERMITTENTLY. AFTER RECALL WORK WAS COMPLETED, WE STILL EXPERIENCE THIS LIGHT TURNING ON INDICATING THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAGS ARE DEACTIVATED. THIS HAS TYPICALLY OCCURRED WHEN MY WIFE (135LBS) IS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT BUT IT HAS ALSO HAPPENED WHEN I WAS IN THE SEAT AND I WEIGH 200LBS. THIS OCCURS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION ON CITY STREETS.
CAR WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND STALLED OUT ON ME COMPLETELY AS I WAS COMING TO A STOP LIGHT ABOUT TO GET ON INTERSTATE 81 IN STAUNTON VA. I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE CAR BACK UP, BUT THE CAR WOULD DIE OUT IF I SHIFTED IT FROM PARK TO DRIVE. LOCAL SHERIFF'S DEPUTY WAS KIND ENOUGH TO PROTECT OUR CAR AT THIS BUSY INTERSECTION AS WE WAITED FOR TOW COMPANY. DEALERSHIP ADVISED THE TORQUE CONVERTER HAD LOCKED UP. ONCE THEY HAD IT UP ON LIFT, IT DISENGAGED AND STARTED WORKING PROPERLY. HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC (WHO WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL AT VALLEY NISSAN IN STAUNTON VA) ADVISED ME THAT IT COULD BREAK DOWN AGAIN AT ANY POINT. IT WAS VERY SCARY WHEN IT DIED IT IN MOTION, SO WE WENT WITH THE OPTION TO REPLACE THE TORQUE CONVERTER AND THE TRANSMISSION (ADVISED THAT WAS THE ONLY OPTION TO REALLY FIX THIS ISSUE). REPAIR BILL FROM VALLEY NISSAN IN STAUNTON VA IS $3114.39 FOR TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT. GOOGLING CVT 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA ISSUES BRINGS A PLETHORA OF RESULTS. I AM CLEARLY NOT THE ONLY PERSON TO HAVE THIS ISSUE. THIS HAPPENED AT 64,207 MILES, - 4,207 MILES OVER THE FACTORY WARRANTY FOR THE TRANSMISSION. CAN'T UNDERSTAND HOW THE PEOPLE WHO WORK AT NISSAN COULD STAND BEHIND ANY PRODUCT THAT HAS A FAILURE RATE OF UNDER 100,000 MILES FOR A TRANSMISSION IN THIS WORLD NOW. THEY MADE IT SEEM LIKE A FAILURE AT 60K MILES WAS NORMAL.
ON 12/25/15 AFTER LEAVING GAS STATION, HOOD OF CAR CAME OPEN AND CRASHED INTO WINDSHIELD. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER AND THANKFULLY THEIR WERE NO CARS IN FRONT OF ME NOR THE REAR OF ME. IT DID NOT CRACK THE WINDSHIELD, BUT DAMAGE HAS BE DONE TO HINGE AND SOME BODY DAMAGE WHEN THE HOOD FLEW OPEN.

I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULDN'T GET IT TO SHUT OFF ON THEM AND SENT ME HOME. THE NEXT TIME I STARTED TO GET READY FOR MY CLASS AND WENT TO CRANK MY CAR, IT CRANK, BUT ONCE I PUT IT INTO DRIVE IT SHUT OFF. I HAD TO GET IT TOWED TO NISSAN IF VIDALIA AND IT TOOK THEM 3 DAYS TO TELL ME THAT I NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION! I HAVE NOT EVEN HAD THIS CAR A YEAR YET AND ALREADY NEEDING A NEW TRANSMISSION. I PURCHASED MY CAR FROM NISSAN OF SOUTH MORROW AND THEY FAILED TO INFORM ME ABOUT AN EXTENDED WARRANTY SO NOW I'M STUCK WITH A CAR BUT CANNOT DRIVE IT BECAUSE I DO NOT HAVE $3,600 TO HAVE IT REPLACED. THIS IS RIDICULOUS AND NISSAN NEEDS TO PUT A RECALL ON ALL CVT TRANSMISSIONS BECAUSE THIS IS VERY UNSAFE!!! THEY'VE DID NOTHING TO HELP ME WITH MY SITUATION AND I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN!!!!
