RANDOMLY THE VEHICLE WILL NOT ACCELERATE EVEN AFTER PUSHING THE GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR. EVENTUALLY IT WILL SLOWLY START TO ROLL AND GET GOING AGAIN. IT HAS BEEN TAKEN TO A MECHANIC SHOP SEVERAL TIMES AND NO ISSUES HAVE BEEN FOUND. THIS HAPPENS AFTER COMING TO A STOP, AND TRYING TO ACCELERATE AGAIN. HASN'T MADE A DIFFERENCE WHETHER ON FLAT GROUND OR A HILL. THE VEHICLE WILL GO WEEKS WITHOUT AN ISSUE, AND THEN RANDOMLY START/STOP AGAIN. SOME WEEKS IT HAPPENS MULTIPLE TIMES A DAY. SOME TIMES IT STARTS TO ACT THIS WAY UPON START UP AND OTHER TIMES I COULD BE TRAVELING FOR A LITTLE WHILE, STOP AT A LIGHT, AND TRY TO TAKE OFF AND NOTHING WILL HAPPEN. THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL TIMES I HAVE TRIED TO ACCELERATE ON A RIGHT HAND TURN AFTER STOPPING AND THE VEHICLE WON'T ACCELERATE. THIS HAS LEAD TO US ALMOST GETTING PLOWED INTO. THIS IS A CONTINUOUS ISSUE WITH NO SOLUTION, AS TO NO MECHANIC HAS BEEN ABLE TO SEE ANY ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE.
CAR SHAKING COMING TO A STOP THEN CUT OFF
PASSENGER AIR BAG INDICATOR STAYS LIT INDICATING AIR BAG IS NOT OPERATIONAL EVEN THOUGH AN ADULT IS OCCUPYING THE PASSENGER SEAT.
AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AND THE ERROR CODE WAS B0020, WHICH IS THE DRIVERS SIDE, THEY RESET AT THE DEALER. IT CAME BACK ON A WEEK LATER AND I TOOK IT BACK. THEY TOLD ME THEY CHECKED THE WIRES AND IT ALL LOOKED FINE. THEY DON'T KNOW IF THE AIRBAG WILL DEPLOY IF IN AN ACCIDENT SO I NEED TO REPLACE IT AND IT WILL COST $1000. THEY ALSO SOLD ME THE CAR IN APRIL AND IN MAY THE LIGHT CAME ON. VERY ANNOYED BY THIS.
WHEN I WAS DRIVING MY CAR STARTED GRINDING AS IF THE ENGINE WANTED TO SHUT DOWN OR THE TRANSMISSION I WAS GETTING READY TO GET ON THE FREEWAY AND I COULD BARELY MOVE IT WAS IN GEAR IT WOULDN'T DO IT IN LOW GEAR EITHER I WILL COME TO A STOP LIGHT OR STOP SIGN BECAUSE I WAS TRYING TO MAKE IT HOME WHICH WAS 5 MILES AWAY, AND IT WOULD JUST BARELY INCH OUT SOMETIMES IT WON'T EVEN START FOR ABOUT 45 SECONDS TO A MINUTE TO GO INTO DRIVE AND THE RPMS AT 25 MILES AN HOUR WOULD HIT UP TO FIVE RPM'S THE WHOLE TIME DRIVING,I TAKE REALLY GOOD CARE OF MY CAR IN FOR THIS TO HAPPEN TO MY TRANSMISSION IS NOT OK AND THEN I STARTED LOOKING UP THAT THIS IS COMMON IN MY CAR SO WHY HAVEN'T YOU DONE ANY RECALLS? IT ALL STARTS AT 70,000 MILES BUT THERE IS NO RECALLS FOR THAT BECAUSE YOU ONLY HAVE YOUR WARRANTY IS UP TO 60,000 MILES WHICH IS A GOOD THING BECAUSE YOU KNOW THAT THE TRANSMISSIONS GOING TO GO OUT AFTER 60,000 MILES, ANYWAY I BARELY GOT MY CAR BACK TO MY HOME AND I HAVE A MECHANIC LOOK AT IT AND IT'S GOING TO COST ME ALMOST $4500 TO GET MY TRANSMISSION FIXED, AND I STILL OWE 16,000 ON IT. I DON'T KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON WITH YOUR NISSAN ULTIMA'S BUT LOOKING UP ONLINE MINE IS NOT THE FIRST ONE THAT THIS IS HAPPENED TO SO THEREFORE SINCE I CAN'T DRIVE A CAR BECAUSE I CAN'T AFFORD TO PAY ALL THAT MONEY, AND THEN I ALSO AM OUT OF WORK BECAUSE I NEED A CAR TO DRIVE BACK-AND-FORTH, I AM GOING TO FIND AN ATTORNEY THAT WILL DO A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST YOU GUYS FOR THE VEHICLES DOING THIS! WHAT IS HAPPENING IS NOT OK, AND SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN BUT WITH EVERYTHING I LOOKED UP ONLINE THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF NISSAN ALTIMA'S 2014'S AROUND 70,000 MILES THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS GOING OUT THIS IS A PROBLEM AND IT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED!
FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AIR BAG DOES NOT ALWAYS ACTIVATE WHEN A PASSENGER IS PRESENT. SYSTEM DOES NOT SO THIS VIN AS PART OF PREVIOUS RECALLS, BUT THE CURRENT SYMPTOMS ARE EXACTLY LIKE PREVIOUS RECALLS FOR THIS PROBLEM.
THE HEADLIGHT LOW BEAMS WERE VERY DIM. I REPLACE THE ENTIRE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY. ABOUT 1/3 OF THE REFLECTIVE SURFACE INSIDE THE PROJECTOR WAS BURN OFF AND PARTS WERE CRACKED FROM THE HEAT OF THE HEAD LAMP. THE HEADLIGHTS WERE SO DIM AT TIMES IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE THE ROAD. THIS IS A VERY UNSAFE CONDITION AND SHOULD NOT HAPPEN IN A FIVE YEAR OLD CAR. THE DEALER WANTED ABOUT $1000.00 TO REPAIR AS BOTH THE RIGHT AND LEFT HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES NEED TO BE REPLACED. I WAS ABLE TO PURCHASE THE GENUINE NISSAN PARTS FOR ABOUT HALF THAT PRICE AND I DID IT MYSELF.
WHILE DRIVING ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET AT ROUGHLY 30MPH, MY VEHICLE SUDDENLY PULLED DRAMATICALLY TO THE RIGHT, PRETTY MUCH AGAINST MY CONTROL OF THE STEERING WHEEL. I THOUGHT THE CAR HAD BEEN KNOCKED OUT OF ALIGNMENT THOUGH I HADN'T HIT A BUMP. I PROCEEDED HOME, APPROXIMATELY AT 10-15 MPH. I MADE AN APPT TO MY LOCAL GARAGE AND LIMPED THERE. WHEN MY CAR WAS HOISTED ONTO THE LIFT I WAS TOLD TO COME INTO THE SERVICE AREASO THAT I COULD BE SHOWN WHAT HAPPENED. THEY SHOWED THE RIGHT CONTROL ARM AND SAID THAT IT SPLIT IN 2 AND THAT I WAS EXTREMELY LUCKY THAT I WASN'T INVOLVED INA SERIOUS ROAD MISHAP. AFTER VIEWING THE PART I FIRMLY BELIEVE THAT NISSAN HAS A VARIOUS SAFETY ISSUE WITH THE CONTROL ARMS ON AT LEAST 2014 ALTIMAS, WHICH I PURCHASED BRAND NEW. I DO A LOT OF HIGHWAY DRIVING AND BASED UPON HOW THE VEHICLE SWERVED SO DRASTICALLY TO THE RIGHT, I AM CERTAIN THIS VEHICLE WOULD HAVE FLIPPED OVER WITH ANY SORT OF SPEED. AT 30 MPH, I WAS LUCKY TO AVOID CONTACT WITH PEDESTRIANS OR OBJECTS. I CONTACTED NISSAN TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE REP WAS MORE INTERESTED IN INFORMING ME THAT MY VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND NOT TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. I WAS TOLD THAT THERE NO OTHER COMPLAINTS FILED ABOUT THIS PART BREAKING APART. I HAVE KEPT WHAT REMAINS OF THE PART. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY MATTER. I AM CERTAINLY AVAILABLE TO PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
SIR/MADAM, I FILED A COMPLAINT ALREADY FILE #11243824. BACK IN AUGUST. NISSAN CALLED ME BUT NO ACTION TAKEN. I CAN NOT SEE AT NIGHT BECAUSE THE LENSES ARE DEFECTIVE. I CHANGE THE LIGHT BULB 3 TIMES. IT IS NOT THE LIGHT BULB IT'S THE MIRROR SURROUNDING IT. THERE ARE 48 SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE LIGHT IS DIM IN THE SAME EXACT CAR.
The headlights are failing. We have replaced the bulbs and it does not fix the issue. When driving at night, we must use the high beams. This issue is a hazarded and could lead to hitting an object in the road due to the failure of the head lights.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
CURTAIN SIDE AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON; SOMETIMES IT TURNS OFF BUT THEN IT TURNS ON.
ON OCCASION WHEN PASSENGER ENTERS VEHICLE, AIR BAG INDICATOR LIGHT DOES NOT GO OUT GIVING THE APPEARANCE THAT THE VEHICLE DOES NOT THINK A PASSENGER IS IN THE VEHICLE. TYPICALLY OCCURS WHEN PASSENGER IS ENTERING VEHICLE AT THE SAME TIME THE VEHICLE IS BEING STARTED. CAN USUALLY BE 'RESOLVED' BY TURNING VEHICLE OFF AND ON AGAIN. HAS OCCURRED MULTIPLE TIMES.
TAKADA RECALL. ON MY 2014 ALTIMA CAN'T SEE WITH LIGHTS ON LOW BEAM HAVE TO DRIVE WITH THEM ON HIGH BEAM. REPLACED BULBS MULTIPLE TIMES BUT DOESN'T HELP. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AS I CAN BARELY SEE 10 FEET IN FRONT OF ME.
I WAS DRIVING IN THE PASSING LANE AT 65MPH IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AT RUSH HOUR ON THE INTERSTATE. THE RIGHT FRONT CONTROL ARM FAILED AND I WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL AND PULL OFF THE RIGHT SHOULDER OF HIGHWAY. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE NISSAN DEALER. THE RIGHT FRONT CONTROL ARM WAS RUSTED APART AND THE LEFT ARM WAS INTACT BUT WAS ALSO HEAVILY RUSTED

STARTING IN APRIL 2019 ON MY 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA SV. THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE EXTREMELY DIM. THEY ARE EASILY OVERPOWERED BY THE TURN SIGNAL, AND HEADLIGHTS FROM OTHER VEHICLES CAST A "SHADOW" WHEN DRIVING BEHIND THIS VEHICLE. THIS PRESENTS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD ESPECIAL IN ANY WET WEATHER EVENT IT IS ALMOST LIKE HAVING NO LIGHTS ON AT ALL. IF THERE IS A MINIMUM LUMENS THAT NEED TO BE PROJECTED TO THE ROAD THIS DESIGN IS NOT DOING IT. THE BULBS WERE REPLACED WITH APPROPRIATE UNITS, NO CHANGE IN THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE LIGHTS. WHEN I CONTACTED NISSAN ABOUT THIS SAFETY DEFECT THEY PROVIDED NO SOLUTION. AND TOOK ZERO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE COMPANIES DESIGN FLAW.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER'S AND FRONT PASSENGER'S SIDE DOOR LATCHES BECAME DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT HAD TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO FRED ANDERSON NISSAN OF RALEIGH (9225 GLENWOOD AVE, RALEIGH, NC 27617) TWICE TO HAVE BOTH DOOR LATCHES REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DEALER ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THERE WAS A FAILURE WITH THE DOOR LATCHES HOWEVER, A RECALL WAS NOT PLACED ON THE VEHICLE FOR THE DOOR LATCHES. A MECHANIC EXPLAINED TO THE CONTACT THAT THE TWO CLIPS INSIDE THE DOOR LOOSENED OVER TIME WHICH CAUSED THE DOOR LATCHES TO BECOME DEFECTIVE. THE MANUFACTURER HAD YET TO BE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 60,000.*DT*JB
VEHICLE HAS TERRIBLE VISIBILITY AT NIGHT WHEN IN MOTION. THE VEHICLE HAS AN INFERIOR HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY, CAUSING YOU TO DRIVE NEARLY BLIND AND TO ALMOST RELY ON THE NEXT VEHICLE IN FRONT OF YOU TO PROVIDE YOU A PATH. I INITIALLY THOUGHT IT WAS THE HEADLIGHT BULBS THAT WERE THE ISSUE. I HAD CHANGED THEM OUT AND IT ONLY IMPROVED VISIBILITY EVER SO SLIGHTLY. I WAS TOLD BY THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP THAT IT IS DUE TO THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY FREQUENTLY GOING BAD. THEY TOLD ME THAT IT IS FAIRLY COMMON FOR THE REFLECTIVE PART OF THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY TO GO CLOUDY AND GO DIM. THEY TOLD ME THAT SINCE THIS WAS CONSIDERED STANDARD WEAR AND TEAR, THEREFORE NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY. THEY RECOMMENDED ME TO REPLACE THE WHOLE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY FOR OVER A GRAND. I WAS EVEN RECOMMENDED TO BUY THEM AFTER MARKET TO SAVE, HOWEVER, THIS SHOULD NOT EVEN BE AN ISSUE! THIS ISSUE PRESENTED ITSELF AFTER OWNING IT FROM NEW FOR ABOUT 5 YEARS. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE THAT NISSAN IS REFUSING TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE. I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS TYPE OF ISSUE WITH ANY OTHER VEHICLE THAT I HAVE OWNED. THIS IS A HAZARD AND CAN CERTAINLY CAUSE SAFETY HAZARDS FOR THE DRIVER.
CVT TRANSMISSION FAILURE
LOW DIM HEADLIGHTS IN FRONT OF VEHICLE. MAKES IT EXTREMELY HARD TO DRIVE VEHICLE AT NIGHT WITHOUT HIGH BEAMS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE HESITATED AND THE BATTERY WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE AS THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO BANISTER NISSAN OF NORFOLK (1250 N MILITARY HWY, NORFOLK, VA 23502) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CVT FAILED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED REPLACEMENT AND THE CVT NEEDED REPROGRAMMING. THE NISSAN MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY EXPIRED IN DECEMBER OF 2018; HOWEVER, THERE WAS AN OPEN SERVICE CAMPAIGN NUMBER: PC490 (CVT REPROGRAM). THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE HAD NOT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF THE OPEN SERVICE CAMPAIGN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 97,000.
OUR 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA BEGAN EXPERIENCING A DETERIORATION OF IT'S HEADLIGHTS OVER THE PAST FEW MONTHS. AT PRESENT, UNLESS THE HIGH BEAMS ARE ON, THE LIGHTS DO NOT ILLUMINATE THE ROAD AT ALL. DRIVERS ARE FORCED TO EITHER USE HIGH BEAMS, WHICH MAY BLIND OR BOTHER ONCOMING TRAFFIC, OR BE LEFT WITH NO EFFECTIVE HEADLIGHTS IF ON LOW BEAM.
WHERE THE MILEAGE SCREEN IS IT KEEPS BLINKING ON AND OFF AND STAYS BLACK OUT MAJORITY OF THE TIME I CAN'T SEE MILES AND I CAN'T SEE WHAT THE GEAR IT IS IN ON THE DASH BOARD . WHEN THE WEATHER OUTSIDE REACH OVER 95-100 THE DASH BOARD STARTS TOO LIGHT UP AND BLINK LIGHTLY TOO SEE THE MILES MY CAR HAS IT IS A WIRE ISSUE AND SHORTAGE SOMEWHERE ON ELECTRICAL PART . SECOND ISSUE IS THERE IS A RECALL ALREADY ON THE HOOD LATCH AND NISSAN DEALER TELLING ME THEY CAN NOT FIX IT UNTIL THEY HAVE A SOLUTION MY HOOD WILL NOT LATCH SO I AM DRIVING AROUND WITH A HOOD THAT CAN FLY OPEN AND CAUSE A ACCIDENT ANY MINUTE AND BEING THERE A RECALL NISSAN IS GONNA BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL DAMAGES

LIGHTS ARE EXTREMELY DIM! I CAN'T SEE AT NIGHT WITHOUT USING HIGH BEAMS. I HAVE BOUGHT NEW BULBS (LED) WITHOUT A SOLUTION. DEALERSHIP SOLUTION IS TO PAY $1000+ TO GET NEW HEADLIGHTS. MANY OTHER ALTIMA OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE.

AS MY VEHICLE PASSED 60,000 MILES FEW MORE HUNDRED AND TRANSMISSION FAILED. THEY MAKE THE WORST TRANSMISSION
MY CAR STARTED "SPUTTERING" AND SHUTTING OFF WHEN IN MOTION OR COMING TO A STOP. THE CAR THEN STARTED TO REV THE ENGINE BETWEEN 2-3RPM WHEN I WAS DRIVING AT A CONSTANT SPEED. WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY, THE CAR REVVED PAST 4RPM AND COMPLETELY SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING. I WAS LUCKILY ABLE TO STOP THE CAR, BUT NO ONE SHOULD EVER HAVE TO ENDURE THAT DANGEROUS AND POTENTIALLY CATASTROPHIC EVENT. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE NISSAN DEALER AND THEY SAID THAT MY TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. IT IS APPARENT THAT NISSAN HAD KNOWINGLY SOLD CARS WITH FAULTY TRANSMISSIONS THAT WOULD FAIL FAR BEFORE AN ACCEPTABLE TIME WITH MANY CONSUMERS FACING THE HIGH COST OF REPAIRING THE TRANSMISSION. AS I WAS HOPING THIS WAS A ONE-OFF SITUATION AND THAT NO ONE ELSE EXPERIENCED THIS, BUT IT LOOKS LIKE THIS IS A FREQUENT COMPLAINT FOR THE NISSAN ALTIMA 2014. NISSAN SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THE TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT AND EXTEND THEIR POWER TRAIN WARRANTY TO 120,000 MILES OR 10 YEARS AS THEY HAVE FOR THEIR CAR MODELS FROM 2003-2010.
THE LAST COUPLE MONTHS I NOTICED THE HEADLIGHT WERE GETTING DIMMER. I REPLACED THE BULBS WITH ONES THAT ARE 60% BRIGHTER BUT IT WAS MARGINALLY BRIGHTER. I CAN BARELY SEE A FEW FEET IN FRONT IF IT'S COMPLETELY DARK. I CAN SEE MY CAR'S SHADOW CAST FROM THE LIGHTS OF THE CAR BEHIND ME. I CANNOT TELL IF THE LIGHTS ARE ON UNTIL I'M RIGHT BEHIND A VEHICLE. ROAD SIGNS ARE BARELY LUMINATED AND I HAVE TO SWITCH TO HIGH BEAMS IF THERE ARE NO CARS AHEAD OF ME.
"TAKATA RECALL" I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN OCTOBER 2018. SINCE THE PURCHASE, MY LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS HAVE MADE ME RUN COMPLETELY OFF OF THE ROAD ONCE AND ALMOST GOT HIT BY ANOTHER VEHICLE BECAUSE OF THE SEVERELY DIM; ALMOST NON-EXISTENT LOW BEAMS. THEREFORE I HAVE BEEN FORCED TO DRIVE AT NIGHT USING ONLY MY HIGH BEAMS BECAUSE AS A SINGLE MOTHER OF 4, I CANNOT AFFORD TO REPLACE OR REPAIR ENTIRE ASSEMBLE. I HAVE REPLACED THE BULBS A COUPLE TIMES AND WAS TOLD BY A MECHANIC AT LOCAL PARTS STORE THAT THE "PROJECTOR" HAS OBVIOUSLY GONE OUT AND THAT ALL ALTIMA WITH THAT TYPE OF LIGHTS EXPERIENCE ISSUE. PLEASE HELP ME.
MY HEADLIGHTS ON DIM QUIT WORKING SO I THOUGHT IT WAS THE BULBS, WENT TO THE NISSAN DEALER AND HAD NEW BULBS PUT IN AND IT WAS JUST AS BAD IF NOT WORSE. I CHECKED ON GOOGLE AND MANY PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME ISSUE AND DON'T HAVE THE 1200.00 TO GET IT FIXED. WHEN I TURN MY LIGHTS ON DIM IT IS LIKE SOMEONE SHUT THEM OFF COMPLETELY. THIS CAR IS USELESS AT NIGHT AND I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER NISSAN BECAUSE OF THIS DANGEROUS PROBLEM THAT THEY SHOULD BE A RECALL ON AND ISN'T. SOMEONE WILL DIE IN THIS CAR ONE DAY I JUST HOPE I CAN GET RID OF IT BEFORE IT IS ME OR ONE OF MY GRANDKIDS. A CAR WITH NO LIGHTS ARE NIGHT IS A DEATH TRAP!!

CAR STALLS OUT WHILE DRIVING ENGINE COMPLETELY SHUTS OFF OR SPUTTERS LIKE IT IS GOING TO DIE IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC WHILE DRIVING IT DOES NOT MATTER OF IT IS HOT OR COLD IT DOES OT WHEN EVER IT WANTS TOO NOTHING TRIGGERS THE RANDOM SPUTTERING OR ENGINE DYING AS WELL CAR HAS A GRINDING METAL NOISE COMING FROM THE BRAKES REPLACED THE BRAKES AND ROTORS BUT STILL MAKING THE NOISE AS IF BRAKES ARE VERY BAD.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HI-BEAM WAS ACTIVATED FOR SAFE VEHICLE OPERATION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. A LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,300.

I HAVE A 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA THAT REVS UP WHILE I;M DRIVING AND THEN STOPS. I TURN IT OFF AND START IT AGAIN. IT DOES THIS CONSTANTLY. CAR DOES NOT ACCELERATE IF YOU STOP AT A LIGHT LIKE SHE SUPPOSE TO. LET ME EXPLAIN. WHEN I'M AT A RED LIGHT AND THE LIGHT TURNS GREEN, I PUT MY FOOT ON THE GAS AND THE CAR DOES NOT ACCELERATE, SHE HESITATES, GO SLOWLY, THEN KICKS IN AND ALLOWS YOU TO PROCEED. I'M VERY AFRAID TO DRIVE IT. I HAVE HEARD OTHERS AND ON THE NEWS SAY PEOPLES EXPERIENCE WITH THEIR NISSAN ALTIMA SHUTTING DOWN JUST LIKE MINE. FOR ME ITS SHUTTING DOWN EVERYWHERE. CVT DTC CODE P17F0 BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THE CVT FLUID CHANGED AT THE 60,000 MILE SERVICE. THE DEALER SHOWED ME THE DTC CODE INDICATING THAT THERE IS A CVT PROBLEM. THE DEALER ALSO STATED THAT WHEN THE 2014 ALTIMA WITH AN L33 ENGINE CAME OUT, NISSAN WAS CHANGING THE CVT BECAUSE THE CODE INDICATES AN IMMINENT FAILURE. THE DEALER STATED THAT SINCE THEN BECAUSE IT COST NISSAN TOO MUCH, NISSAN HAS STARTED TO REBUILD THE CVT AND THE DEALERS HAVE A TRAINED MECHANIC TO REBUILD THE CVT AND CORRECT THE CVT JUDDER CODE. THE DEALER STATED THEY WOULD CONTACT NISSAN AND ADVISE WHAT HOW NISSAN WILL CORRECT THE DEFICIENCY. NOW OVER 2 WEEKS, THE DEALER HAS NOT RETURNED MY PHONE CALLS TO ADVISE HOW NISSAN WILL HANDLE. MY WIFE DRIVES THE CAR WITH MY YOUNG DAUGHTER AND I TRAVEL FOR WORK. I AM NOW CONCERNED THE CVT WILL BE PROBLEMS WHEN I AM AWAY AND COULD INADVERTENTLY CAUSE A TRAFFIC ACCIDENT WHEN SHE IS DRIVING IF THE CVT FAILS. THIS SHOULD BE A SAFETY CAMPAIGN THAT THE NHTSA TAKES ON AND PURSUES. NISSAN KNOWS ABOUT THEIR PROBLEMS AND EVENTUALLY WHEN THERE IS A FAILURE ON THE HIGHWAY SOMEONE WILL GET KILLED OR IT HAS ALREADY HAPPENED AND THE CAUSAL FACTORS HAVE NOT BEEN IDENTIFIED ATTRIBUTED TO THE ACCIDENT. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN AND IT SEEMS LIKE NISSAN IS NOT CONCERNED OR PERFORMING A RECALL JUST AS THE WAY NISSAN IS HANDLING THE TAKATA AIR BAG PROBLEMS IN THEIR CARS. FURTHER, IT IS EXTREMELY INTERESTING THAT WHEN THE CAR HAS BEEN IN FOR PAS SERVICE, THE OTHER NISSAN DEALERS DID NOT DO THE QUICK SIMPLE CHECK OF THE CODES TO ENSURE THERE WERE NO PROBLEMS. WOULDN'T IT BENEFIT THEM AS IT COULD PRODUCE BUSINESS?? HOW STUPID AND POOR SERVICE WE RECEIVE FROM THE DEALERS.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 125,000.
THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ON OUR 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA ARE SO DIM YOU CAN BARELY SEE. I CHANGED THE BULBS OUT TO A BRIGHTER AFTERMARKET LED BULB AND THE DIFFERENCE IS MINIMAL AT BEST. THE HIGH BEAMS ARE STILL VERY BRIGHT BUT THEY ARE NOT THE PROJECTION STYLE. IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO SEE AT NIGHT WHEN THERE IS ONCOMING TRAFFIC I MUST KEEP THE FOG LIGHTS ONTO LIGHT UP THE ROAD. THE ILLUMINATION IS SO POOR THAT SECURITY LIGHTS THAT ARE OVER PEOPLE'S DRIVEWAYS ARE BRIGHTER THAN THE HEADLIGHTS AND DRIVING AT NIGHT IN THE RAIN IS BASICALLY IMPOSSIBLE ON LOW BEAM. I'VE TALKED TO A NISSAN MECHANIC AND HE SAID THE ONLY TRUE FIX WILL BE TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY BECAUSE THEIR ARE ISSUES WITH THE MATERIALS BREAKING DOWN INSIDE THE PROJECTOR PORTION OF THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY. IF THAT'S THE CASE NISSAN HAS DONE A POOR JOB OF DESIGNING THEIR HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY AND SHOULD REPLACE THEM AT THEIR COST AS THIS IS A VERY REAL HAZARD. AFTER SPEAKING TO THE MECHANIC I STARTED LOOKING ONLINE AND HAVE FOUND THIS ISN'T AN ISOLATED ISSUE, EVIDENTLY IT'S ALL ALTIMAS FROM 2013-2015 THAT ARE EXPERIENCING THIS PROBLEM.

ABOUT FIVE MONTHS AGO BACK IN AUGUST 2018 MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING MY 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN OUT OF NOWHERE IT STALLED. HE EXPLAINED THAT IT JUST STALLED BUT WOULD START BACK UP AND THEN WHEN HE WOULD SHIFT IT INTO DRIVE, IT WOULD STALL OUT AGAIN. WE THEN TOOK IT TO A SHOP AND THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE WHAT IT DID WITH MY HUSBAND. SO, THEY SAID IT MIGHT BE A SOFTWARE ISSUE AND UPDATED IT. FAST FORWARD THIS PAST FRIDAY ON JANUARY 11TH, 2019, I WAS AT A RED STOP SIGN, WHEN OUT OF NOWHERE MY CAR STALLS. I ACTUALLY THOUGHT SOMEONE HAD HIT ME BECAUSE IT JUST JOLTED TO A STOP SO SUDDENLY IT FELT AS IF SOMEONE HIT MY CAR. SAME THING HAPPENED THAT OCCURRED WITH MY HUSBAND. SHUT OFF CAR, RESTARTS PERFECTLY, THEN SHIFT TO DRIVE AND STALLS. I GET A TOW TRUCK TO TOW IT TO THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP. EVEN THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER SAID HE'S NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT, AND THAT HE DROVE IT OFF THE TOW TRUCK NO PROBLEM. I GET A CALL TWO DAYS LATER FROM NISSAN SAYING THAT IT SHOWS UP AS A TRANSMISSION ISSUE AND THAT IT WILL COST AROUND $5,000 TO REPLACE IT. NO EXPLANATION TO WHY A FIVE-YEAR-OLD CAR THAT HAS BEEN PERFECTLY MAINTAINED WOULD NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION. OF COURSE, THE WARRANTY IS ONLY COVERED AT 60,000 MILES SO I HAD NO WAY OF COVERAGE. THAT DAY I DID INVESTIGATING ON WEBSITES TO FIND A RECALL OR ANY INFORMATION. WHAT I FOUND WAS DESCRIBING EXACTLY WHAT OCCURRED WITH MY CAR AND TO LOTS AND LOTS OF PEOPLE WITH THIS VEHICLE! I THEN CONTACTED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND THEY CREATED A CASE NUMBER FOR ME. I JUST RECEIVED A CALL TODAY FROM THEM STATING: "NISSAN WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ASSIST YOU IN ANY WAY." THIS IS A MANUFACTURING ISSUE WITH EITHER THE TRANSMISSION OR A SOFTWARE ISSUE THAT IS SAYING IT'S A TRANSMISSION ISSUE. THIS NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED FURTHER FOR THE SAFETY OF THE CONSUMERS OF THIS VEHICLE OR IF PEOPLE ARE BEING WRONGFULLY CHARGED MONEY.
