TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 NISSAN MAXIMA. THE VEHICLE HAS GOODYEAR EAGLE RS-A, SIZE P245/45R18 TIRES. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE FLATTENED AND THE VEHICLE VIBRATED. THE CONTACT CHANGED THE TIRE AND NOTICED THAT THE REST OF THE TIRES WERE CRACKED. GOODYEAR SUGGESTED THAT THE CRACKS MAY HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY CLEANING PRODUCTS. THE CONTACT PURCHASED FOUR NEW TIRES WITHOUT BEING REIMBURSED. THE DOT NUMBER WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 80,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,406.

NISSAN MAXIMA HOOD RUSTING. ALTHOUGH WARRANTY SAYS IT IS COVERED DEALER AND NISSAN REFUSE TO FIX. *NM
AUG 7TH, 2006 AT 15,033 MILES I ORIGINALLY REPORTED CLUTCH PROBLEM AUG 21ST, 2006 AT 15,621 MILES NISSAN IN QUINCY REPAIRED THE CLUTCH PRESSURE PLATE AND THROW OUT BEARING. THIS WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AT THE TIME AND THE PARTS WERE REPLACED AS A RESULT OF MY VISIT ON AUGUST 7TH. AFTER THE CLUTCH PRESSURE PLATE AND THROW OUT BEARING WAS REPLACED, I RETURNED TO NISSAN CLAIMING THE CLUTCH ?WAS NOT RIGHT?. AT THAT TIME THEY TOLD ME THAT SINCE I JUST HAD PARTS REPLACED IT MAY TAKE A WHILE FOR THEM TO ?WEAR IN?. ?OCTOBER 11, 2006 AT 18,114 MILES THEY REPLACED MY CLUTCH MASTER AND SLAVE CYLINDER BECAUSE I WAS DRIVING TO WORK ON THE HIGHWAY (GOING ABOUT 50). I WENT TO SHIFT AND MY CLUTCH STUCK TO THE GROUND AND WOULD NOT COME BACK UP. I WAS NOT ABLE TO SHIFT AND WAS BASICALLY DRIVING IN NEUTRAL ON THE HIGHWAY. THIS WAS EXTREMELY SCARY AND I WAS VERY LUCKY THAT I DID NOT GET INTO AN SERIOUS ACCIDENT THAT DAY! I SLOWLY GOT OFF THE NEXT EXIT (ACTUALLY ROLLED OFF). I TRIED TO PUMP THE CLUTCH AND FORCE IT INTO GEAR. IT EVENTUALLY POPPED BACK UP AND I WAS ABLE TO GET IT INTO GEAR. I DROVE IT STRAIGHT TO NISSAN (IN THE RIGHT LANE WITH MY HAZARD LIGHTS ON). I EXPLAINED TO QUIRK NISSAN WHAT HAD JUST HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY. I WAS VERY UPSET ? AND THAT?S WHEN THEY REPLACED THE CLUTCH MASTER AND SLAVE CYLINDER. AT 41,000 MILES I HAD TO HAVE MY CLUTCH AND FLYWHEEL REPLACED. I HAVE TALKED TO A FEW MECHANICS AND THEY FEEL SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT AND THAT NISSAN SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE. I WROTE A LETTER TO CORPORATE NISSAN AND THEY ARE DENYING THAT THERE IS ANY LIABILITY ON THEIR PART AND I HAD TO PAY ALMOST $2000 OUT OF POCKET FOR A CLUTCH AND FLYWHEEL (NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY). *TR
AUTO TRANSMISSION IN 2004 NISSAN MAXIMA STARTED A HARD JERK WHEN DRIVING. BROUGHT CAR TO NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD NO PROBLEM. BROUGHT CAR TO DEALERSHIP AGAIN A WEEK LATER AND WAS TOLD THAT CAR NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION. TOOK CAR TO TRANSMISSION SPECIALIST AND BASED ON EXAMINATION FOUND THAT AN ELECTRONIC PART FAILED IN THE TRANSMISSION CAUSING THE TRANSMISSION TO OVER HEAT. THUS CAUSING MAJOR DAMAGE TO TRANSMISSION. ELECTRONIC PART IS NOT A NORMAL WEAR ITEM THEREFORE CAN NOT BE REPLACED THROUGH AFTER MARKET. *NM
I HAD A NEW BORN IN OCTOBER 2006. I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW BRITAX DECATHLON CAR SEAT AND HAVE HAD A LOT OF TROUBLE PUTTING IT ONTO MY 2004 NISSAN MAXIMA. THE BACK SEAT LATCH ANCHOR (THE ONE BEHIND THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AND CLOSE TO THE MIDDLE) IS VERY HARD TO REACH BECAUSE IT WAS HIDDEN IN BETWEEN TWO SEAT BELT BUCKLES. IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO BE LATCHED ON. *NM
2004 NISSAN MAXIMA. CAR DEVELOPS A DANGEROUS VIBRATION BETWEEN 50 AND 60 MPH. ALSO HAS A LOUD KNOCK COMING FROM UNDER THE CAR. TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER TWICE. THIS FIRST TIME THEY REPLACED THE RIGHT FRONT STRUT SAYING THAT IT HAD BROKEN. THEY SAID THE VIBRATION WAS COMING FROM CUPPED TIRES CAUSED BY THE BROKEN STRUT. THE LOUD KNOCK WAS LESS BUT STILL APPARENT. TOOK BACK TO DEALER WHO THEN TIGHTENED THE "TIE ROD WHICH WAS LOOSE. NO MENTION OF CUPPED TIRES WAS MADE. KNOCK IS STILL PRESENT AND ALSO THE VIBRATION IS ALSO STILL A BIG PROBLEM. THE CAR HAS THE 18" WHEELS. *NM
MULTIPLE STRUT FAILURES ON A CAR WITH ONLY 28K MILES. ALSO BRAKE ROTORS CONTINUE TO WARP. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE FOR SUCH A NEW CAR. *NM
2004 NISSAN MAXIMA WITH GOODYEAR EAGLE RS-A P245/45R18 WITH CRACKS IN THE SIDEWALLS. CUSTOMER STATES THAT HE HAD THE TIRES ADJUSTED TO FIX THE CRACKS IN THE SIDEWALL. *KB THE TIRE MANUFACTURER SENT THE CONSUMER A LETTER DENYING THE CLAIM. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THE CONSUMER HAD NOT SHOWN PROOF THAT THE TIRES WERE ADJUSTED FOR SIDEWALL CRACKING. THE LETTER ALSO STATED UNDER THE CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM AN ORIGINAL PAID RECEIPT WAS REQUIRED TO SHOW PROOF OF PURCHASE WITH SIDEWALL CRACKING AS A REASON FOR REPLACEMENT. *JB
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE ABS LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED AFTER THE CAR WAS TURNED ON OR OFF. THE LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON AND OFF BY ITSELF. THE BATTERY NEEDED TO BE DISCONNECTED TO SHUT THE LIGHT OFF. MOST OF THE TIMES, THE ABS HAD TO BE COMPLETELY DISCONNECTED, AND THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING WITHOUT THIS SAFETY FEATURE. THERE WERE NO WARNING SIGNALS PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP, WHO DETERMINED THAT THE ENTIRE ABS SYSTEM AND THE SENSORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.
ALL 4 TIRES OF MY NISSAN 2004 (FIRST OWNER) DEVELOP CRACKS ON SIDEWALLS, NOT SURE WHEN CRACKS DEVELOPED HOWEVER, BASED ON 1/8" WIDE CRACK (GAP) ON RIGHT REAR INSIDE TIRE, CRACK MUST HAVE STARTED BETWEEN 25,000 & 30,000 MILES , ALL ALONG PERIMETER WHERE SIDEWALL MEETS TREAD. TIRE SIZE (ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURER) P245-45-R18, GOODYEAR EAGLE RS-A. DEALER (CENTRAL VALLEY NISSAN, MODESTO CA). CONDITION OF TIRES ARE OBVIOUSLY A SIGN OF STRUCTURAL DEFECT. TIRES CAN EXPLODE AT ANY TIME AND SHOULD NOT BE DRIVEN UNTIL NEW TIRES HAVE BEEN PLACED. DEALERSHIPS SHOULD BE NOTIFIED TO WATCH FOR CONDITIONS ON MODELS THAT WERE SOLD WITH THIS PARTICULAR TIRE. I FOUND THE CONDITION MYSELF AND UNFORTUNATELY HAVE NEVER BEEN WARNED BY THE DEALER WHO SOLD ME THE VEHICLE. I BELIEVE MANY OTHERS WITH THE SAME TYPE OF TIRE ARE AT RISK TODAY AND NOT AWARE OF THE IMPENDING CONSEQUENCE. *JB

TIRE TREAD SEPARATION. WAS TOLD NOTHING CAN BE DONE. LOW MILE TIRES ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT TIRES REPLACED BUT VERY LOUD WITH SAME TIRE. *JB
I HAVE HAD NUMEROUS PROBLEMS WITH MY 2004 NISSAN MAXIMA. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE TIRES, HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE IN THE SHOP FOR THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMING NUMEROUS TIMES; HAVE PAID TO HAVE THE BATTERY REPLACED BECAUSE THE CAR SUDDENLY STALLED; HAVE HAD THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER REPLACED BECAUSE OF ONE OF THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TRIPS TO THE DEALER. MOST RECENTLY, I REPLACED THE FRONT AND BACK BRAKES DUE TO WHAT I THOUGHT WAS NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. A MONTH LATER, THE ABS BRAKE SYSTEM FAILS, AND I AM TOLD THAT IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY, AND THE CHARGE WILL BE $1,645. THE CAR IS ONLY TWO YEARS OLD. I AM AT THE DEALER AT LEAST ONCE, SOMETIMES TWICE A MONTH. I USED TO BE THE BIGGEST CHEERLEADER FOR NISSAN. I HAD A 1991 NISSAN MAXIMA THAT I BOUGHT USED WITH 173,000 MILES ON IT. THAT CAR WAS ON THE ROAD UNTIL IT HAD MORE THAN 300,000. NOW I FEEL LIKE I PURCHASED A LEMON. I BOUGHT A NEW CAR BECAUSE I DIDN'T WANT THE HEADACHES THAT COME ALONG WITH A USED CAR. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALER ON SEPTEMBER 18TH BECAUSE SOMETHING WEIRD GOING ON WITH THE BRAKES. I HAD HAD THE BRAKES CHANGED ABOUT A MONTH BEFORE THAT, I KNEW THAT THEY WERE IN GOOD CONDITION. I RECEIVED A CALL LATER THAT DAY TELLING ME THAT MY ABS BRAKE SYSTEM WAS BAD AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. AND THAT I WOULD NEED TO COVER THE COST BECAUSE THE PART WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. I CONTACT NISSAN NORTH AMERICA TO LODGE A COMPLAINT ON SEPTEMBER 19TH TO SEE IF THEY WOULD COVER THE COST FOR THE ABS SYSTEM FAILING, BECAUSE I DON'T THINK THAT I SHOULD HAVE TO COVER A MAJOR REPAIR LIKE THAT ON A 2 YEAR OLD CAR. I WAS TOLD THAT A REGIONAL SPECIALIST WOULD CALL ME BACK WITHIN 24 HOURS. 2 DAYS PASSED WITHOUT A RETURN CALL. I CALLED AGAIN ON THE 22, AND AGAIN ON THE 25TH WITH NO RESPONSE. L BELIEVE THAT NISSAN IS AWARE OF ALL OF THE MANUFACTURING DEFECTS WITH THE MAXIMA AND BY NOT RESPONDING HOPE THAT CONSUMERS WILL GO AHEAD AND PAY FOR THE REPAIRS OVER AND OVER AGAIN BECAUSE THEY ARE AFRAID TO DRIVE AN UNSAFE CAR. *NM
2006 NISSAN MAXIMA SE OEM GOODYEAR EAGLES 245/45/18 DEFECTIVE SIDEWALLS. MORE SPECIFICALLY, SUBJECT TIRES DEVELOPED MAJOR CRACKS OF 6 INCHES OR MORE ON THE INNER AND OUTER SIDEWALLS. AN INTERNET QUERY YIELDED NUMEROUS IDENTICAL COMPLAINTS CONCERNING MAXIMAS AND GOODYEAR TIRES. THREE OF FOUR TIRES HAD MAJOR CRACKING ON INSIDE SIDEWALL, DAMAGE ONLY DETECTABLE WHEN VEHICLE WAS PLACED ON LIFT. ONE OF FOUR TIRES HAD OBVIOUS SIGNS OF MAJOR CRACKING ON OUTSIDE SIDEWALL; WHICH PROMPTED FURTHER INVESTIGATION AND DISCOVERY OF INNER SIDEWALL CRACKING. ALL TIRES COULD CATASTROPHICALLY FAIL DURING NORMAL USE. *JB

2004 MAXIMA HAS SIDEWALL CRACKS ON GOODYEAR TIRES. *TS ALL FOUR TIRE DEVELOPED CRACKS, BOTH ON THE INSIDE AND THE OUTSIDE OF THE SIDEWALLS. THE TIRE HAD BEEN REGULARLY ROTATED AND PER INSTRUCTIONS CONTAINED IN THE NISSAN OWNER'S MANUAL. *NM

NO APPARENT DAMAGE -- LOOKS LIKE UNDER WARRANTY." TIRES HAVE BEEN ROTATED BY DEALER AT RECOMMENDED INTERVALS,WHEELS BALANCED. NISSAN MANUAL:AT ROTATION DEALER INSPECTS FOR ABNORMALITIES; NO MENTION OF PROBLEMS AT ABOUT 2600 MILES. DEALER ADVISE CONTACT GOODYEAR HQ, TIRES NOT GUARANTEED NISSAN. WAS ADVISED BY GOODYEAR HQ TO HAVE CAR INSPECTED @ CRAVEN TIRES, FAIRFAX STATION, VA. CRAVEN TIRES RELEASED WRITTEN STATEMENT: "WE FOUND CRACKS IN ALL 4 TIRES INCONSISTENT WITH DRY ROT DUE TO MILEAGE AND AGE OF TIRES. CUSTOMER WAS OFFERED 25% COURTESY DISCOUNT ON NEW TIRES. CUSTOMER HAS DECLINED AT THIS TIME. OFFER STANDS FOR 30 DAYS. NOTE TREAD DEPTH ON ALL 4 TIRES IS 4/32 OF AN INCH." NOTE THAT 4/32 IS MEASURED FROM EMBEDDED "CONSUMPTION" BAR, NOTE ALSO THAT NEW TIRES ARE 10/32 INCH, HENCE TIRES WOULD STILL HAVE 40% LIFE (4/10). MY OPINION IS A STRUCTURAL DEFECT AND THEREFORE A DANGER FOR ALL THESE TIRES, NOT ONLY ON MY CAR. DEALER (MR. RON DEL RIO, SHEEHY NISSAN, SPRINGFIELD, VA) CONFIRMED BY MOUTH THAT THE PROBLEM HAD OCCURRED ON MANY OTHER MAXIMAS EN ALTIMAS, BUT THAT ALL CLIENTS HAD DECIDED TO PAY THEMSELVES FOR REPLACEMENT. THESE TIRES WILL SEE SEPARATION OF SIDEWALLS/TREAD, RAPID DEFLATION AND MAY CAUSE ACCIDENT. DO NOT USE THE CAR UNTIL THIS IS SOLVED TO MY FULL SATISFACTION; WILL NOT HESITATE TO BRING THE MATTER IN FRONT OF THE COURT. I AM AWAITING ANSWER ON MY NOTES THAT I SENT TO GOODYEAR CORPORATE ADDRESS AND NISSAN CUSTOMER SERVICES. DT*: THE CONTACT STATED A RECALL LETTER NHTSA RECALL # 05V512000 WAS RECEIVED, REGARDING THE SEATS: FRONT ASSEMBLY: POWER ADJUST. THE DEALERSHIP DETERMINED THE RECALL COULD NOT BE PERFORMED UNTIL THE POWER SEAT MOTOR WAS REPLACED.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 NISSAN MAXIMA. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE IN SEPTEMBER OF 2006 REGARDING THE SUBFRAME OF THE VEHICLE. THE RECALL REPAIR CONSISTED OF A REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT. WHEN SHE RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE, SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND HAD THE RECALL REPAIR PERFORMED. SIX MONTHS LATER, SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER FOR A TIRE INSPECTION. THE DEALER STATED THAT BOTH REAR TIRES APPEARED TO BE MANUFACTURER DEFECTS. THE CONTACT PURCHASED TWO NEW TIRES IN MARCH OF 2007. THE DEALER REFUSED TO HONOR HER WARRANTY FOR THE NEW TIRES BECAUSE HER VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED AT ANOTHER DEALER. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE TIRE SHOP FOR A ROTATION AND THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE TREAD WAS WORN ON BOTH OF HER NEW REAR TIRES. THE MECHANIC ALSO CONFIRMED THAT WHEN THE RECALL WAS REPAIRED, THE REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT WAS NEVER PERFORMED. SHE CALLED THE DEALER THAT PERFORMED THE REPAIR AND THEY REFUSED TO SHOW HER THE REPAIR HISTORY PAPERWORK. THE RECALL NUMBER WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
WARNING SIGNS STARTED WITH A HARD SHIFT FROM 1ST TO 2ND TO 3RD AT 45K MILES. DONE REGULAR TRANSMISSION MAINTENANCE BUT PROBLEM REMAINS THE SAME. LATER IT STARTED HARD BANG OR JERK WHEN SHIFTING FROM DRIVE TO REVERSE OR REVERSE TO DRIVE. AT 112K MILES IT GOT WORSE AND THEN KNEW READING ONLINE ABOUT FAULTY VALVE BODY PROBLEM IN MANY 2004-2006 MAXIMAS TRANSMISSION. REPAIR COST IS TOO HIGH TO EVEN MENTION. SECOND PROBLEM IS TIMING CHAIN PLASTIC TENTIONERS. A WHAT? YES PLASTIC TIMING CHAIN TENTIONERS INSIDE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. PROBLEM STARTED AT 50K AND CONTINUED AS OF TODAY. COMPLAINED TO DEALER WHEN CAR WAS UNDER WARRANTY AND DELER SAID MY CAR IS RUNNING AWESOME. NISSAN LATER CHANGED THE DESIGN OF PLASTIC TIMING CHAIN TENTIONER. BUT WHAT ABOUT THOSE WHO HAS FAULTY DESIGNED TIMING CHAIN TENTIONERS? RESPONSIBLE PARTIES KNOWS ABOUT THESE ISSES BUT REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE. WHY THERE IS NO RECALL YET?
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE WASHING THE VEHICLE, THE SIDEWALL OF ALL FOUR TIRES WERE DISCOVERED TO BE CRACKED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO DETERMINED THE SIDEWALLS WERE WORN AND THE TIRES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALERTED. THE TIRES ARE GOODYEAR, MODEL EAGLE RS-A, P245/45R18.
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKS WORKED INTERMITTENTLY AND AT INAPPROPRIATE TIMES. ON OCCASION, THE VEHICLE'S DOORS OFTEN WOULD LOCK AUTOMATICALLY WITHOUT THE CONTACT'S EFFORTS. SOMETIMES THIS OCCURRED WITH THE DRIVER DOOR AND OTHER TIMES WITH ALL DOORS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP TWICE WHERE THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN ATTEMPTED TO BE FIXED BY BUYING NEW TIRES, CHANGING THE WHEELS, PUTTING ON NEW ROTORS, ROTATING AND BALANCING THE TIRES, AND TIGHTENING THE STEERING RACK. GOODYEAR EAGLE RSA TIRES P245/45R18, ON NISSAN MAXIMA 2004, WITH 20,000 MILES. ALL FOUR TIRES ARE DEFECTIVE. TREAD IS SEPARATING FROM SIDEWALL. GOODYEAR HAS NO RECALL AND NISSAN HAS NO RECALL ON THIS ISSUE. THE DEALER I TOOK THE CAR TO SAID THAT MINE WAS ABOUT THE 3RD NISSAN HE SEEN WITH THIS ISSUE. I JUST TOOK MY 2004 NISSAN MAXIMUM INTO THE DEALER FOR A FRONT SEAT AND UNDERCARRIAGE RECALL ISSUE AND ASK THEM TO LOOK AT MY FRONT TIRE BECAUSE THE SIDEWALL OF THE TIRE HAD A LARGE SPLIT IN IT. THE MANUFACTURED DETERMINED THE ROTORS OVERHEAT AT TIMES, WARPING THE ROTORS, AND SUGGESTED THE VEHICLE BE TAKEN TO ANOTHER SERVICE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER ALSO CONFIRMED THAT WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED, SO SERVICES WOULD BE PROVIDED AT COST.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE NJ TURN PIKE AT 70 MPH, MY HUSBAND FELT WHAT SEEMED LIKE A TIRE GOING FLAT. HE PROCEEDED TO TRY TO GET TO THE SHOULDER. SUDDENLY, THE LEFT REAR TIRE BLEW AND HE TOTALLY LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. HE WAS HIT HEAD-ON AND IN THE REAR. THIS COMPLAINT DOCUMENTS A VERY DISTURBING SITUATION REGARDING GOODYEAR EAGLE RS-A P245/45R18 TIRES ON OUR 2004 NISSAN MAXIMA. WE ARE THE ORIGINAL OWNERS AND THERE WERE 29,500 MILES ON THE CAR AT THE TIME. WE HAD A VIOLENT FLAT TIRE (PASSENGER REAR) AND UPON REMOVAL NOTICED THAT THE INSIDE SIDE WALL HAD SPLIT IN MULTIPLE REGIONS AROUND THE CIRCUMFERENCE OF THE TIRE. WHEN THE CAR WAS UP ON THE LIFT AS THE TIRE WAS BEING REPLACED AT A GOODYEAR DEALER, IT WAS NOTICED THAT THE REMAINING THREE TIRES ALSO HAD MULTIPLE LONG, DEEP INSIDE SIDE WALL CRACKS, EVIDENT AROUND THE ENTIRE CIRCUMFERENCE. IT WAS OBVIOUS THAT THE CAR WAS EXTREMELY UNSAFE TO DRIVE IN THIS CONDITION, AND WE HAD ALL 4 TIRES REPLACED. SINCE THE CRACKS WERE ON THE INSIDE, THEY WERE IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE WITH NORMAL VISUAL INSPECTION. WE CONSIDER OURSELVES EXTREMELY LUCKY THAT WE WERE NOT SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED AS A RESULT. IT IS ALSO EVIDENT THAT THIS IS A DEFECTIVE CONDITION OF THE TIRES, FOR THIS TO HAPPEN TO ALL FOUR TIRES AT ONLY 29,500 MILES. ONCE HOME, WE CHECKED THE INTERNET TO SEE IF THERE WAS ANY RECALL ISSUED. WE WERE HORRIFIED TO FIND NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS FROM OWNERS OF 2004 NISSAN MAXIMAS THAT HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM. WE FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE THAT PRESTIGIOUS COMPANIES SUCH AS GOODYEAR OR NISSAN WOULD BE SO IRRESPONSIBLE AS TO ALLOW PEOPLE TO UNKNOWINGLY DRIVE AROUND ON HAZARDOUS TIRES. WE ARE EXTREMELY CONCERNED THAT OTHER NISSAN MAXIMA OWNERS MAY EXPERIENCE THE SAME PROBLEM BUT MAY BE HURT OR KILLED AS A RESULT. IT IS IRRESPONSIBLE OF BOTH GOODYEAR AND NISSAN TO NOT RESPOND TO THIS SITUATION. WE BELIEVE THEY SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL OR SAFETY ALERT AND FULLY REIMBURSE THE OWNERS FOR THE TIRE COST. WE THEN SENT LETTERS TO BOTH GOODYEAR AND NISSAN TO ADDRESS THEIR INTENT. *JB
I HAVE A 2004 NISSAN MAXIMA. IT HAS 97.000 MILES ON IT AND THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN GIVING ME PROBLEMS SINCE I BOUGHT IT. IT WON'T GO INTO DRIVE FROM PARK WITHOUT A 3-5 SECOND DELAY, IT DOSEN'T DOWN SHIFT PROPERLY WHEN COMING TO A STOP. IT'S TO THE POINT NOW THAT WHEN I COME TO A STOP IT DOWN SHIFTS SO ERRATICLY THAT THE TIRES CHIRP. I LOOKED ONLINE AND THERE ARE OVER 150,000 PEOPLE WITH THE SAME COMPLAINT. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY CAN'T DUPLICATE IT, WHICH I THINK IS A FALSEHOOD. THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT THERE CLEARLY IS A DEFECT WITH THESE TRANSMISSIONS AND NISSAN NEEDS TO RECALL THEM. THE FOG LIGHTS SHORT OUT AND BURN OUT AFTER LIMITED USE. I HAVE SPEND HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS ON FOG LIGHTS, NOW I JUST GAVE UP AND LEAVE THEM BURNED OUT. THE FRONT STRUTS WERE DEFECTIVE AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. *TR
