DOOR LOCKS PROBLEM. WHEN I LOCK THE DOORS WITH MY CONTROL OR FROM THE INSIDE, THEY DON'T LOCK OR UNLOCK. SAME WITH THE TRUNK, I CANNOT OPEN MY TRUNK BECAUSE THE SYSTEM DOESN'T WORK. I CONTACTED DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME I HAVE TO REPLACE LOCKS (ALL 5) FOR MORE THAN $1500.00 I ALSO SEE THIS ISSUE IS COMMON IN ALL NISSAN IN DIFFERENT YEARS. A RECALLED SHOULD BE CALLED SINCE THIS IS A SECURITY ISSUE WITH THE CAR. THANKS *TR
I'VE BEEN HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE POWER DRIVER'S SEAT IN MY 2005 NISSAN MURANO, THE DRIVER'S SIDE POWER SEAT JUST STARTED TO TILT TO ONE SIDE, AND ALSO FORWARD. IT IS LOOSE AND WILL TILT FORWARD/BACKWARD WHEN I DECELERATE/ACCELERATES. ACCORDING TO MY MECHANIC, IT'S SORT OF STRUCTURAL FAILURE WITH THE ANCHOR OF THE LEFT REAR SIDE OF THE POWER DRIVER SEAT. *TR

THE DOORS DO NOT UNLOCK BY ANY ELECTRONIC SIGNAL FROM THE PANEL OR HAND HELD DEVICE, MAKING THE MATTER WORSE FOR THE BACK DOOR WHICH CAN'T BE UNLOCKED PERIOD. SINCE THERE IS NO MANUAL OVERRIDE TO OPEN THE BACK DOOR, THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE REPAIRED AND REDESIGNED BY NISSAN AS THE RESPONSIBLE PRODUCER OF THE VEHICLE. *TR
DRIVERS CAR SEAT RATTLES FROM SIDE TO SIDE CAUSING DIFFICULTY WHEN DRIVING - SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD. NISSAN MURANO- 2006. *TR
WHEN DRIVING OVER A BUMP OR DRIVING ON A BUMPY ROAD THE DRIVER'S SIDE SUN VISOR FALLS OR DROPS DOWN UNEXPECTEDLY. IT APPEARS THAT THE VISOR IS NOT TIGHTLY HELD BY THE BRACKET THAT IT SITS ON. WHEN THIS OCCURS, THERE IS COMPLETE LOSS OF VISION THROUGH THE FRONT WINDSHIELD. WHEN DRIVING AT HIGHER SPEEDS (OR ANY SPEED FOR THAT MATTER), THIS LOSS OF VISION MIGHT CAUSE AN ACCIDENT IF THE VISOR IS NOT RAISED UP QUICKLY ENOUGH. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM ONLINE AND I HAVE FOUND THAT THERE ARE MANY, MANY OTHER NISSAN MURANO OWNERS WITH THE SAME COMPLAINT, ESPECIALLY FOR OWNERS WITH MODEL YEARS 2005, 2006 AND 2007. THIS IS DEFINITELY SOMETHING THAT SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED BEFORE THERE ARE ANY SERIOUS ACCIDENTS OR LOSS OF LIFE AS A RESULT OF THIS DEFECT. THIS IS SOMETHING THAT SHOULD BE RECALLED AND REPLACED WITH A NEW SUN VISOR. THE PASSENGER'S SIDE SUN VISOR DOES NOT EXHIBIT THIS BEHAVIOR. THIS SITUATION HAS HAPPENED TO ME NUMEROUS TIMES. *JS

DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BROKE WHILE DRIVER WAS OPERATING VEHICLE. THERE WAS NO TRAUMA TO THE VEHICLE, IT HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. ONE MOMENT IT WAS FINE, THE NEXT I HEARD A POP AND THEN A CRACKING SOUND. THE BACK OF THE SEAT LISTED HEAVILY ON THE LEFT SIDE, THE BOTTOM WAS NO LONGER SECURED. IT MADE STEERING THE CAR VERY DIFFICULT AND VERY DANGEROUS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE VISOR WOULD CONTINUOUSLY FALL, OBSTRUCTING THE DRIVERS VIEW OF THE ROADWAY. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND WAS ADVISED THAT THE ENTIRE SUN VISOR WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000.
I OWN A 2005 NISSAN MURANO, THE DRIVERS SEAT SUPPORT BAR BROKE UNDERNEATH THE SEAT.THIS IS THE TUBE THAT SUPPORTS THE SEAT IN THE FRONT. IT IS A NOT A HEAVY ENOUGH MATERIAL. THIS IS CAUSING THE SEAT TO BE LOP SIDED AND LOOSE. IT ALSO ROCKS SIDE TO SIDE WHICH I FEEL IS A SAFETY HAZARD. IF THE CAR WAS IN AN ACCIDENT THE SEAT WOULD COMPLETELY BREAK OFF THE MOUNTS AND CAUSE SEVERE INJURY TO THE DRIVER THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH A LARGE MAJORITY OF NISSAN MURANOS. PLEASE GO TO NISSAN MURANO.ORG AND YOU WILL SEE THE AMOUNT OF PEOPLE WITH THE SAME ISSUE. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS AS A RECALL BEFORE SOME INNOCENT PERSON GETS KILLED BY NISSAN FOR USING A MATERIAL THAT IS NOT DURABLE ENOUGH. I AM A MECHANICAL ENGINEER BY TRADE AND REVIEWED THE STRESS CALCULATIONS FOR THE TYPE OF MATERIAL USED AND IT IS NOT SUITABLE FOR THE PURPOSE. REAR HATCH DOOR WILL NOT OPEN ON MY 2005 NISSAN MURANO. *TR
I'M HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE ELECTRIC DOOR LOCKS ON 2005 NISSAN MURANO. THREE LOCKS SOMETIMES WORK,BUT MOST OF THE TIME THEY DON'T. I'M CONCERNED THAT IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET HURT BECAUSE THE LOCK WILL NOT WORK. I UNDERSTAND THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AND NISSAN WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE PROBLEM. *TR
MY 2005 NISSAN MURANO SL AWD BROKE THE DRIVER'S SEAT SUPPORT BRACKET WHILE DRIVING ON A CLEAR, DRY PAVED ROAD IN JANUARY 2010. THE DRIVER'S SEAT ROCKED FORWARD AND BACKWARD SLIGHTLY AFTER I HEARD A SNAP. THE NEXT DAY I CHECKED OUT THE DRIVER'S SEAT WHILE NO ONE WAS SITTING IN IT AND NOTICED THAT THE SEAT NOW ROCKS SIGNIFICANTLY FORWARD AND BACK AND A METAL BRACKET UNDER THE SEAT HAD BROKEN. I CALLED MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP WHO GOT ME IN THE NEXT BUSINESS DAY. THE DEALERSHIP QUOTED ME $450 TO MAKE THE REPAIR SAYING THEY HAD TO REPLACE ONE OF THE TWO DRIVER'S SEAT LIFT ASSEMBLIES AND THEY HAD THE PART IN STOCK. MY MURANO HAS 78K MILES ON IT AND IS BEYOND THE EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT WE HAD PURCHASED. I BOUGHT MY MURANO FROM THIS DEALERSHIP AT 50K MILES AND HAVE BROUGHT IT BACK TO THEM FOR EVERY KIND OF SERVICE AT THE PROPER SERVICE INTERVALS. BECAUSE WE HAD FOLLOWED ALL THE DEALERSHIP'S RECOMMENDATIONS IN THE PAST FOR REPAIRS AND HAD DONE ALL THE NEEDED SERVICES, AND THIS SEAT ISSUE WAS NOT SOMETHING THAT I COULD HAVE PREVENTED OR OTHERWISE BEEN HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR CAUSING (I AM AN AVERAGE WEIGHT WOMAN), I CALLED NISSAN'S CUSTOMER SERVICE LINE AND SPOKE TO A CUSTOMER SERVICE REP. AFTER EXPLAINING THIS SAFETY ISSUE AND THE FACT THAT THIS SEAT IS TIED INTO THE AIR-BAG SYSTEM AND ASKING FOR SOME GOODWILL ON THIS SAFETY DEFECT, I WAS DENIED. I ASKED FOR JUST A PARTS GOODWILL AND WAS STILL DENIED. AFTER REVIEWING MY SERVICE STATEMENT FROM THE DEALERSHIP, THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN NOTED THAT HE REPLACED THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT SEAT LIFT ASSEMBLY "PER BULLETIN." I LOOKED ONLINE AND FOUND THAT NISSAN HAS A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN (REFERENCE NUMBER NTB05-043C) THAT WAS ISSUED MARCH 29, 2007 ABOUT THIS VERY ISSUE. FURTHER ONLINE INVESTIGATION NOTED THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE APPARENTLY HAD THIS SAME ISSUE, BUT AT MUCH LOWER MILEAGE. I AM FURIOUS THAT NISSAN HAS A KNOWN SAFETY ISSUE AND REFUSED TO COVER IT.

WHEN SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE THE DEALER NOTICED THAT THE DRIVERS SEAT BRACKET WAS BROKEN AND THAT IT WAS PREVIOUSLY WELDED. THE ESTIMATED COST TO REPAIR THE SEAT BRACKET WAS $600.00. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
CURRENTLY OWN A 2005 NISSAN MURANO AND NOTICED LAST NIGHT THAT THE DRIVERS SEAT SHIFTED TO THE LEFT. THIS MORNING WHILE DRIVING THE CAR TO WORK, THE LEFT SIDE OF THE DRIVERS SEAT SNAPPED AND THE SEAT LEANED DOWN TO THE LEFT. I HAVE READ A NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS ON EDMUNDS.COM, THIS IS AN EXTREMELY COMMON SAFETY ISSUE AND NISSAN HAS NOT ADDRESSED THIS AS A DESIGN PROBLEM. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN MURANO. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS, UNEXPECTEDLY, THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE SEAT BRACKET BROKE. THE DRIVER SEAT COLLAPSED ON THE LEFT SIDE. THE UNSECURED SEAT BEGAN TO EXHIBIT A ROCKING MOVEMENT. THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER TO A NEARBY PARKING LOT; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESUME DRIVING WITH EXTREME CAUTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE FAILURE WAS CONTRIBUTED TO THE DRIVER SEAT BRACKET ASSEMBLY. THE PART WAS ORDERED WITH AN ESTIMATED REPAIR COST OF $1,000. THE CONTACT HAD CONCERN OF THE SAFETY RISK INVOLVED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 54,300. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
DRIVING AT A SPEED OF APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH AND BEGINNING TO ENTER A RIGHT HAND TURN WHEN THE DRIVER'S SEAT GAVE WAY AND SLUMPED TO THE REAR AND SHIFTED TO THE LEFT. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER TO INVESTIGATE WHAT HAD JUST HAPPENED. THE BACK LEFT MOUNTING BRACKET OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT BROKE IN HALF AND NOW THE SEAT ROCKS AND SHIFTS TO THE BACK LEFT. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT THEY SEE THIS PROBLEM ALOT. TO REPAIR THE SEAT WILL COST JUST OVER $1,000. NISSAN RECOGNIZES THAT THE BRACKET BREAKS AND IS DEFECTIVE. HOWEVER, NISSAN HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL TO RESOLVE THIS SAFETY ISSUE. THE SEAT HAS ENOUGH ROCK AND PLAY IN IT THAT IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, THE BROKEN SEAT CAN ACT AS A CATALYST TO EJECT THE DRIVER FROM THE DRIVER'S SEAT. *TR

MY DRIVER'S SEAT BROKE IN MY 2005 MURANO (68,000 MILES) IN THE SAME MANNER AS A NUMBER OF OTHERS DRIVERS HAVE INDICATED ALREADY. THE DRIVER SEAT BROKE WHILE DRIVING CAUSING ME TO LOOSE CONTROL FOR A TIME....VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION! THE DRIVER SEAT WELD CAME LOOSE ON THE LEFT SIDE AND NOW ROCKS BACK AND FORTH WHILE DRIVING AND GOING AROUND CORNERS. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY INDICATED IT WAS A $1000 PLUS FIX! HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE SEAT ASSEMBLY. DEALER AND EVEN THE EXTENDED WARRANTY I PURCHASED WILL NOT COVER THIS OBVIOUS DEFECT AND SAFETY ISSUE. WILL BE CALLING NISSAN NEXT...BUT FROM THE LOOKS OF OTHER COMPLAINTS, IT WILL BE A WASTE OF TIME SINCE I HAVEN'T HEARD OF NISSAN HELPING FIX ANYONE WITH THIS ISSUE. I'M AFRAID THAT UNTIL I GET THIS FIXED THAT THE ROCKING MOTION WILL BREAK THE LAST SUPPORT AND CAUSE THE ENTIRE SEAT TO BREAK LOOSE WHILE DRIVING. ON JAN, 2010 THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT HAD FAILED ON MY 2005 NISSAN MURANO. THE DRIVER'S SEAT FRAME HAD BROKEN CAUSING THE SEAT TO ROCK FROM SIDE TO SIDE AND FRONT TO BACK. THE SEAT HAS A FACTORY DEFECT CAUSING THE FRAME TO FAIL. THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS FOR THE 2004, 2005 2006 AND 2007 NISSAN MURANO WITH THE SAME FAILURE. THE CONTACT IS CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY RISK SINCE THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT COULD SEPARATE FROM THE FRAME IF A CRASH OCCURRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.

I OWN A 2005 NISSAN MURANO AND BOTH SUN VISORS KEEP FALLING. I'VE TRIED VELCRO AND EVEN GLUE BUT TO NO AVAIL. DRIVER SIDE VISOR OF VEHICLE FALLS DOWN ON IT'S OWN. BLOCKS DRIVER'S VISION. OCCURS AT LEAST ONCE A DAY. SOME TIMES MORE FREQUENTLY DEPENDING UPON THE ROAD. IF THE ROADWAY IS BUMPY, THE VISOR WILL FALL MORE FREQUENTLY. THIS HAPPENED ALL OF A SUDDEN, WITHOUT ANY EVENTS LEADING UP TO THE FAILURE. WHEN I CHECKED ONLINE, IT TURNS OUT THIS IS A FAIRLY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE. IN SOME INSTANCES THE DEALER WILL REPAIR. IN OTHER INSTANCES THEY WILL NOT. COST OF THE REPAIR IS AROUND $400.00. I PLAN TO GO TO THE DEALER TOMORROW AND HOPE THEY WILL REPAIR. *TR
WIFE WAS DRIVING AND HEARD A POP SOUND. SEAT BEGAN TO SHIFT WHEN MAKING TURNS AND ENTERING AND EXITING THE VEHICLE. WE LOOKED UNDER SEAT AND SEE THE REAR BAR HAS BROKEN OFF ITS WELDING POINT ON THE LEFT SIDE ON THE DRIVERS SEAT. *TR
I HAVE A NISSAN MURANO 2005. THREE OF MY DOORS HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED BY A NISSAN SERVICE CENTER TO HAVE BROKEN ACTUATORS. THESE DOORS DON'T LOCK BY ANY MEANS OTHER THEN MANUALLY PUSHING THE LOCK TO THE CLOSE POSITION. I HAVE OPENED A "FILE" WITH NISSAN BUT THEY HAVE STATED THEY WILL NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. DRIVER'S SIDE VISOR ON 2005 MURANO HAS LOST ITS ABILITY TO STAY IN THE UP POSITION RELIABLY, CAUSING IT TO DROP INTO THE DRIVER'S LINE OF SIGHT FREQUENTLY AND WITH NO NOTICE, CAUSING A TOTAL OBSCURITIES OF THE ROAD. HAVE INVESTIGATED THIS PROBLEM ONLINE AND IT SEEMS TO BE RAMPANT IN THIS MODEL CAR. ONLY SOLUTION FROM DEALER IS TO CHARGE AN OUTRAGEOUS $400 TO REPLACE THE VISOR. THE CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 170000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

ONCE THE ARM BROKE THERE WAS A VERY LOUD CLUNKING NOISE. I WAS FORCED TO PULL OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND WAIT FOR A TOW. THE TENSION ARM, BRACKET, BELTS AND TIMING COVER NEED TO BE REPLACED. I'M CONCERNED THAT IF MY WIFE IS IN AN AREA OF SOME CONCERN THAT THERE IS A WAY TO LOCK ALL THE DOORS. IN AN EMERGENCY THERE IS NO WAY TO KNOW IF THE DOORS WILL UNLOCK WHEN YOU NEED THEM TO. SINCE THE ONLY DOOR WITH A KEY HOLE IS THE DRIVERS DOOR, IF THERE SHOULD BE A SITUATION WERE MY WIFE AND DAUGHTER SHOULD NEED TO RUSH IN THE CAR, THIS WOULD BE A PROBLEM. I TOOK THE CAR IN TO THE SHOP TO GET IT CHECKED OUT AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THE DOOR ACTUATORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE GENTLEMAN TOLD ME THAT THE ACTUATORS AREN'T SOLD SEPARATELY BUT THAT THE HOLE ASSEMBLY WOULD NEED TO BE PURCHASED AT $409.00 EACH. THIS APPEARS TO BE A WAY TO GREATLY OVER CHARGE. I THINK THAT IF THERE WASN'T A DEFECT IT WOULD BE AN ISOLATED ISSUE BUT WHEN THEY ALL START MALFUNCTIONING AT THE SAME TIME, THERE IS DEFINITELY A PROBLEM. AFTER LEAVING THE DEALER CONCERNED THAT THIS JUST DIDN'T SOUND RIGHT I STARTED TO RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND THIS TO BE HAPPENING TO SEVERAL NISSAN VEHICLES. IF THIS PART IS CAUSING DIFFICULTIES THEN NISSAN SHOULD MAKE THE PART SIMPLE TO REPLACE. I HAVE ALSO RESEARCHED INTO THE COST OF SOME DOOR ACTUATORS ON THE INTERNET AND FIND THEM TO RANGE AROUND $25.00. THEY SUGGESTED TO NISSAN THAT THEY REPLACE IT. I ALSO WAS IN CONTACT WITH NISSAN AND HAVE A FILE REGARDING THIS PROBLEM. AFTER 15 DAYS THEY DENIED REPAIRING THE FAULTY SEAT FRAME. I DO NOT FEEL THIS IS SAFE. I ALSO DO NOT FEEL IT IS MY RESPONSIBILITY AS IT IS A DEFECT AND DO NOT CURRENTLY HAVE THE MONEY TO COVER THE REPAIR. YOU ASKED FOR AN APPROXIMATE INCIDENT DATE, THIS SEAT HAS BEEN MAKING NOISE FOR APPROXIMATELY 6 MONTHS.
